Nice product which does exactly what it is supposed to do. Great for cutting wood and even pruning.
Have used it quite a bit and it is still going strong after almost a year.
    It’s a tough product.

Not used it too much but did the job I required it to do, slight vibration but not uncomfortable.

Great saw – ideal for all those fiddly cuttings you laboured with on a manual hand saw. Also mobile enough to use on exterior jobs.Obviously not for chopping trees down but versatile enough to tackle most domestic/household/garden jobs.

Golden Review Award: 29 From Our UsersI ordered this Black + Decker RS890K-GB Scorpion-Powered Hand Saw with Kitbox and Auto-Select, 500 W for my husband who is in the process of carrying out a lot of jobs around our house so was in need of one and was very pleased to receive this one.
It arrive professionally packaged and looks good.
My husband has said it cuts well. So far he has cut a larger hole for loft access which it done with no problem at all, and today I have been cutting down some old kitchen units which it done effortlessly and made the job so much quicker and easier so we would recommend.

I bought this for my son in law to saw logs for their wood burner, when I asked him about it, last week he hadn’t had chance to use it, but said it will definitely do the job it was bought for.

I bought this saw way back and have used it to build an old fashioned printing press, then a few times a week ever since. Great saw, zero problems. It’s probably 2 years since I bought it, so it’s standing the test of time and heavy use/abuse.

Lots of power, chews through most tasks easily. As a jig-saw it’s pretty average because you can’t see the blade to cut accurately and you end up with the button switch in the wrong place for sensible cutting.

A fabulous saw. Have used for lightweight diy – cut up pallets to make a garden bar, cut down a fence panel and a couple of branches that the loppers couldn’t handle.
You feel like you are on Krypton factor getting in back in the excellent little case though, but the sense of achievement..

This item was purchased for many household and garden jobs. Fantastic for sawing thick branches.
Have taken down a chicken run 10 foot high with wooden posts with this saw on my own (female)

Once you get the hang of it there are so many things it can be used for and the case is a definite added bonus and very user friendly.

Wow….is all I can say, my daughter bought me this item as I had a few jobs to do and using a standard saw is a nightmare in itself so after ordering it I had to wait a while but that was no hardship, anyway it arrived in perfect order (Truly Happy) so I got on with my jobs only used it 3 times and suddenly (Noooo!!!) the blade that sits in a block to keep it sturdy snapped off….But I kept my kool and checked it over and realised it was unrepairable so I contacted Amazon and explained the problem and I`ve had good service in the past from other companies but Amazon are in my top 5 list and sat at the top of the pile, nothing was too much for them after I explained what had happened they got back to me same day after emailing them, then out f the blue I got another email saying they are sending a replacement out without any quibbles, that’s what I call fantastic brilliant service from a outstanding company, I just can`t praise Amazon enough for their kind help and service I`m very proud to be called a Amazon Customer….Thank You Again Amazo

My perfect power tool. I have used this to take down some small beech trees in my garden and found it powerful, sharp and efficient. As a woman, I’m not really used to power tools and found using this one a lot of fun. Just remember to remain conscious of the blade cos it’s gonna hurt if you cut yourself.

Had no experience of power saws and suspect my expectations were too high. It takes longer than I expected to cut through the branches but it’s definitely easier than a manual saw.

Great multi purpose saw – good for things that don’t need the muscle of a chain saw but are too much for a thin bladed reciprocal saw. Tend to use for cutting branches and DIY that doesn’t require finesse.

Been in use for nearly 2 years now with no issues. I use it for cutting up small branches (up to about 5 in diameter) I have already lopped off trees in the garden which it does without problem. It will probably need a new blade soon but at 11 each that’s not bad for 2 years’ use

We were doing some gardening and had issues cutting large branches. Did think a little pricey but realise worth every penny and more. What a brilliant tool, fit for purpose, handy, sturdy and very robust. Using this tool took away all the hard work/effort required for dismantling of the battered old shed.
Using this item all around the house now – so useful – totally fab.

Wow, what a thing. Too think all these years I have been using a good old fashioned hand saw. Despite previous reviews saying otherwise, my came with the big blade pictured and too other blades.

I have been using it to chop down tree branches all week and it hasn’t missed a beat. I’m not quite sure what others are on about when they say it takes the same time as a hand saw as it doesn’t. Without any pressure this cuts through 2-3 inch branches in around 10 seconds. What would have taken me weeks, is now done and dusted in under a week, and all the branches are chopped up and put out for recycling. Job done!

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersI would describe myself as a 5ft weak female. I havent the strength to use the electric and petrol saws men use, I can only use an ordinary saw that takes me ages. This saw is noisey, a bonus if you want to annoy your neighbours but not if you want to keep your hearing so I use ear defenders. I am happy with the saw because it takes less time for me than with a manual and that was the main reason I bought it. However it isnt very precise I dont mind that either because I use it mostly for garden work but I do wish Id bought a more powerful one to cut even quicker. Overall I am happy and given four stars because I need to buy more blades for it and dont know how much they cost yet, I really should have checked before I bought it. I also dont think a strong man would be happy with this saw, I know my father thinks its pathetic but it does help me in the garden.

As one review said, ignore the bad feedback on this item. I think I am quite discerning and accurate on reviews being both an avid Amazon and ebayer buyer for the last 15 years and this item is brilliant!! I had a lot of different types of wood to cut (DIY stuff) and it did not falter. Excellent tool, saved me a lot of time and instantly useable when you take it out of the box!!

If you use this as intended it’s brilliant. I’ve had mine a couple of years now and use it to cut up smallish logs for the log burner, and have found it’ll cope with logs up to about 5″ diameter. For the price I think it’s amazing. As others have said there IS vibration so you couldn’t use it for hours, it’s quite noisy and of course if you try to use it on more demanding tasks it will prove too flimsy, but for my uses I’ve been extremely pleased with it and for this price I don’t know what more you could possibly expect.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersAfter reading the reviews about this powered saw I decided to go ahead and order one ! It was delivered this morning and this afternoon I have tackled my pile of wood that needed to be cut to log burner size! The Black and Decker has not disappointed at all! Some of the wood was made up of Teak and as hard as nails but not a problem for the Scorpion! Now I can sit back and know that any other wood that comes my way can be tackled with ease by my new Black and Decker saw !

Golden Review Award: 29 From Our UsersVery sturdy and agile. I bought it to cut down around a 20′ length of conifers that were 6′ high and 4′ deep. It did the job no problem and even managed to get all the way through the thickest trunk (7-8″) thick – it needed a few cuts and ‘V’s’ taking out but it did the trick. All without changing the blade.
On cutting through a piece of plank (6″ x 1″) it did so without effort even though it took around the same length of time I would have done it with a handsaw.
The picture is a little misleading as the black faceplate you can see is supposed to be pulled down before inserting the saw blade (see photo) which restricts the cutting somewhat.

One disappointing aspect is that the two blades recommended on the Frequently Bought Together bit of Amazon don’t fit this saw and I can only assume that it’s for the other Scorpion saw – a little bit naughty that Amazon — I think I’ll ignore those recommendations in the future.
I haven’t yet used the Jigsaw feature or the plastic and metal modes.

Overall, I’m glad I bought it for the job previously mentioned and believe it was well worth the money, I’m not sure I would be so happy if I’d bought it just for DIY jobs around the house as I believe a good handsaw and hacksaw could do the same job, admittedly more elbow grease is needed.

    Very sturdy and agile

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this because I had a big log that I needed to cut. Somewhere between 12 and 18 inches in diameter. Still quite green too. Something this saw isn’t really designed to do, but it handled it without fuss! I also cut a few timber planks because I’m a big kid and wanted to play with this new toy. Cut them like butter. If you EVER use a saw for anything, just buy this thing. It will make your life so much easier. It can be used as a jigsaw too (I’ve yet to do this though) which is very handy as this makes it, essentially, two tools in one. Very simple to change blades too.

N.B – Even though I’ve used it successfully for something it probably shouldn’t be used for, doesn’t mean you should too so remember to practice good health and safety when using this, as with any tool!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is very powerful and handy tool to have around, it has now been used for tree and hedge pruning plus cutting up all sorts of wood for a wood burner and it hasn’t yet met its match and is still going strong. It is easy to use one handed, you hold the safety button with your thumb whilst pressing the trigger.

I would hate to go back to a manual saw now, this just speeds up things so much and makes any job easier.

My son, who is a carpenter by trade, laughed at me when I bought this item. I only needed it to shape 4 pieces of wood which were fixed to concrete fence posts and a hand saw was an awkward option. It did the job perfectly and I thought no more about it. Last week I found my son using it. He is making a wood store at the side of his workshop and the best way to cut the polycarb roofing panels was the Scorpion. He couldn’t praise it enough, it was better than the jigsaw and he was able to cut in places where his handsaw was too large. Praise indeed.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is a smaller saw than I had imagined it would be but it remains a versatile and good tool, it comes in a hard plastic mold carry case, the electric cable is only long enough for use in a workshop or at a work bench really, when using it out doors I used extention leads to provide more reach.

The three blades, including the largest, which is pictured, all fit within the carry case too, in a purpose built slot. In addition to this main blade, there is a smaller wood and plastic jigsaw blade and a blade designed for cutting metal, such as sheet metal. The blades are easy to attach and detach from the unit, although can become hot from use (indicated by the manual).

The user manual is clear, concise and easy to read, its instruction very easy to apply, quickly. Within five minutes of getting the power tool from the box with the manual read you can put it to use, although it is pretty intuitive, there are two buttons to depress together in order to make the saw function, another switch to adjust for cutting wood, plastics and metal. There is a plastic grip to assist with cutting branches, this requires a little push to adjust from one position to another as it clips or snaps into either affixed position. There is a rubberised grip to the front of the saw, which is a two handed saw despite being smaller, the instructions indicate how to hold the saw, two separate positions in order to use it as saw and jigsaw saw.

The cuts are quite smooth, I used it cutting fairly robust/thick branches, which had been cut already from the tree, on plank, on plastic (sheet) and a small piece of plastic pipe, there was no splittering on any of the materials and it was a very smooth cross section remaining (as smooth as if I had used a sander on the same surface). On the branch the cross section was hot to the touch too. The saw did clunk or threatened to jam on some of the larger branch midsections and I dont think that it work as well on the larger or largest tree trunks or branches. I was a little disappointed as I had imagined it would work as effectively as a smaller chainsaw, however, as a workshop or work bench tool its second to none and does a good job on the smaller branches (though as a side note you would want to have a good vice or table with something to lock and hold the branches or wood in place due to the sometimes fierce vibration from the tool, though that being said this is not outside what I would expect from the same sort of tool).

Great tool, should have got one years ago. Very prompt delivery after buying on a lightening deal, and used the very next day to build garden buildings, cutting older wet wood with ease. Not perfect when cutting in a jigsaw way as difficult to keep perfectly straight, but when used like a saw it cuts through the wood fast and precisely. Saved a lot of time and aching arms!

  37. Joel Keehn says:

I got this for 40 on an Amazon special offer, and for the money it’s had to fault it.
It deals quite well with softwood up to 2″‘s thick, after which it’s limitations start to tell. It will tackle larger stuff, but patients is required.
Two things I don’t like; firstly it’s quite hard to see where you are sawing, the black front handle not helping in that respect. Secondly the blades are a a bit too puny, particularly the wood blade, which is too thin and whippy. The very thin blade bends easily as you cut making it difficult to saw in a straight line, particularly as you can’t see where you are sawing very well.
It’s a shame that no one seems to make better blades for this saw, but nevertheless, for 40 a useful DIY saw.

We do a lot of pallet dismantling and making chests and all sorts. This little beast does all you need it to do. Comes with several blades which are easily detachable and reattachable without needing a secondary tool. It gets the job done with minimal fuss and works brilliantly as either a jigsaw or a handsaw. Obviously if you’re a professional that requires extreme precision then buy Makita or a tool specific for that job. But as an all in one, this thing is brilliant.

Very useful tool. Wish I had bought one a long time ago. As well as using it to cut wood for building a wood store I have also cut through sleepers with this. Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersA decided winner from the proven B&D stable. This unit has enabled me to continue to enjoy DIY in spite of the march of time. As a man of advanced years I have found the use of a saw more difficult as time went on, due to cramp affecting prolonged gripping of the handles. I am delighted with the ease this unit has provided, and the versatility of it. I have a jigsaw, and a circular saw, but, while both are excellent for the use for which they are intended, the depth of cut is limited. This saw cuts accurately and speedily. and is a valuable addition to anyone’s collection of power tools. Thank you B&D for extending my DIY pleasure, hopefully for a few more years.

Went through a 6″ inch holly tree stump, in fact it was three of them pretty quick, plus its good for normal little bits of wood, but for fine cuts just where you want them I would still use a hand saw, but being disabled this helps out a lot, impressed……

Purchased to deal with a shrub that was about to take over the front of the house – having been dreading the task for weeks the little scorpion arrived and very quickly the upper branches were dispatched. The thicker branches took a little longer but nothing the little saw couldn’t handle then finally the thick trunk. About 5″ across I was worried I would be asking toooooo much of the Scorpion but following the reviews others had left I didn’t try and force it through just kept the saw moving and a couple on minutes later I was through.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersDespite already owning a Worx reciprocating electric saw (the more cylindrical-looking types of saws with a longer blade protruding from the front), this Black & Decker electric saw has proved to be a real boon for me to cut timber of around a thickness of 4″ (eg the larger type of square fence post).

That’s because it’s so lightweight and therefore easily manageable. You are likely to need a saw of this kind for cutting as, for example, a jigsaw usually has a limited depth cutting capability and saws such as these give you a straighter, more easily achieved, cut vs something like a circular saw….

*** The Amazon ‘Tech Details’ are misleading :

    1. The ‘item’ weight refers to the ALL the saw items, cable/plug, blades, paperwork and case (which this ‘EK’ version includes – and very handy it is too !).

    2. The saw unit itself weighs just 1.6kg. minus the cable/plug – as in use you’re not usually going to be ‘heaving that’ !

In comparison to my Worx saw, which weighs an eye-watering 8kg, you can see why this ‘lightweight’ is an excellent alternative when the weight of the saw is not that vital (it helps force the blade down with more demanding cuts…).

Yes, it’s largely made of plastic so not as robust either, but in those less demanding situations that is no biggie and means I’m not left exhausted after a cutting ‘session’ having previously been required to hefting around hold/carry around an 8kg ‘lump’ !

It’s lighttness has proved especially useful when ‘attacking’ unwanted branches etc, when I need to wander around inside the wooded areas of my garden border to lop/shorten trees.

The main reason I bought this saw was because it was on offer as an Amazon ‘Lightning Deal’ at a price of 24.99 – something of a bargain as more recent repeat offers have been somewhat higher, but after some use I think I’d be tempted if it were going to cost a bit more than I paid for the positive reasons I’ve mentioned….

The only ‘downer’ is that a replacement main blade is around the 10 mark, so in my case nearly 50% of what the whole kit cost in the first place – this means I’ll use it when absolutely necessary vs my Worx, as very capable blades for that can be got for about 1.50 !!! I think I can see where Black & Decker aim to make most of their profit – minus 1-star for that…..!

So, for general cutting requirements I can thoroughly recommend this little beauty – it’s notably lightweight and with a sharp blade should be able to deal with most ‘average’ tasks such as those I mentioned. Even at a ‘normal’ Amazon price of around 35 I think it’s a good purchase, especially as there’s little to compete with it at that price level.

Great little saw I have used it many times now and its so useful in those awkward areas. It does vibrate a little but it does help if you can rest on a firm surface.I have just fitted a water softner and had to cut a hole in the undesink base unit.Without this little saw I would have been snookered .So well done Black and Decker.

WHAT A GREAT SAW I USED THIS ON A PALLETT TO CUT UP FOR KIDDLEING IT WAS NO EFFORT AND TOOK NO TIME AT ALL
THE SAW FELT VERY SAFE TO USE IT SAYS TO KEEP TWO HANDS ON THE SAW I USED IT WITH ONE HAND WITH MY OTHER HAND HOLDING THE WOOD THE VIBRATION WAS SO LITTLE IT WORKED ( DO THIS AT YOUR RISK THIS IS NOT ADVICE)
THE TRICK TO A SAW LIKE THIS IS TO LET THE SAW DO THE WORK DONT FORCE IT DOWN THROUGH THE WOOD JUST HOLD ON AND LET IT DO IT ALSO 10/10 FOR DELIVERY ORDERED IT THURSDAY PM GOT IT ON SATURDAY AM

A useful general purpose saw for use in house and garden. I would not think that it would be very accurate for fine work, but, if it is just a simple task, this saw takes a lot of the hard work out of the job.

Good for diy and small jobs. If you’re cutting softwood and fairly thin timber it should be OK. I tried cutting a 15 cm log but it took ages and it would have been faster with a hand saw. It is great for cutting branches, pine etc.
Mine came in a nice storage box and with extra two blades.

down side is it vibrates my hand so much that they go a bit numb but that’s just me with my dodgy hands!
patience is needed & good weather to use it
but for what i want it for i could have spent more on a different one that will spend more time in the box than in use
in other words you get what you pay for & i wanted to just cut up a buddlea tree trunk that i had to remove & a hand saw wouldnt cut it!!

It’s great and easy to use and arrived quickly. I have found with most tools they never come with clear instructions so that is the only downside. I had to pop to Homebase to get someone to put the blade in for me and show me how to do it.

This is the 4th Black & Decker Scorpion Saw I have bought because it is a BRILLIANT TOOL & have just worn them out through constant use.Being so versatile it is the first tool in the box I pick up to do the job.
Having paid nearly twice the price for my first one in comparison to the price I bought this on the Amazon Site there is only one Choice You can make.
    AMAZON for price & Delivery.
    Thank you once again AMAZON.

Fabulous tool, does exactly what it says on the tin. The only quibble I have with it is the cord could have been in put in a different place to where it is situated as you have to keep it clear away from the blade when you’re using it. I like the carrying case that the saw comes in as it keeps everything neat and tidy in one place. Delivery of product was quick and well packaged for posting.

Read the instructions (or this review)…

It works fine and I’ve used to cut through loads of logs (up to 7 inch think). Use it like a ‘normal’ saw; move it back and forth (as it says in the instructions) so that the sawdust comes out. No need to put pressure one, just let it do it’s job. It isn’t a chainsaw so won’t rip through wood but it is far easier than using a hand/rip saw. It may take some time but you won’t be shattered at the end of an hour or so cutting wood.

It is also very accurate and does clean cuts providing you again use it the same way you would a hand saw; steady away, cutting along a line.

Brilliant saw. Gets the job done well but be aware that it vibrates a hell of a lot and is actually very uncomfortable to use because of this.

Amazing! Perhaps it could be a little more powerful, but it does the job very well. I used it to cut through a redundant kitchen worktop which was proving hard to cut with a conventional saw. Not good for precision work but ideal for general sawing tasks. I discovered that it works best if you make normal sawing motions while it is running, without pressing down hard. On the return stroke (pulling towards you) it slices through as if it were balsa wood!

Brill I’m a 73 year old femail and not too agile anymore, with 13 dead 8ft high conifers to tackle , I found this saw advertised on Amazon ,with mixed reviews ,I’m very pleased I sent for it ,I took all the branches off first ,starting at the bottom ,then cut the trunk ,starting from the top ,all down and looking good ,thanks to the Black & Decker Scorpion. I would recommend this saw to any one wanting to do jobs like mine

Bought to chop down and old hedge but since been using to lop off tree branches and numerous other jobs. It has cut through some pretty big stuff and I have been amazed how well it has coped. All those years of struggling with shears and saws and for a small price could have used this!

I purchased this saw for general use and I am very pleased with it thus far. I particularly like the fact that it has good sized box to store it when not in use and it is very simple to use. I also was very impressed with both the quality of packaging and speed of despatch from the supplier. Overall, this has proved to be one of my better buys!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is one of the best things I’ve ever bought! Saved me a fortune in firewood. Perfect for logs up to about 3 inches in diameter. Bigger than that, then it’s a struggle. That being said I must have got through so much wood in the 4 months I’ve had it & the saw is still perfect. Great produc

A tree blew down in the recent storms, and I needed to cut it up before I could get rid of it. This saw made short work of the job, easily cutting through even the thickest parts. It wil be a very useful addition to my tool box, as I can use it to prune other trees in the garden. Good buy

We just wanted a reasonably priced electric saw to chop up a settee for removal. It works fine for simple tasks but I’m not sure I’d recommend it for heavier use. It vibrates quite strongly up your arm when in use. It takes some care to use properly, don’t bend the blade and don’t push it down or force it, just let it do its own thing whilst using a gentle sawing action, I liken it to using an electric toothbrush! I did notice the non-stick surface on the main saw blade has started to rub off already after a few uses. For the price it’s very good value.

Purchased this saw to do some branch loping in spring, but was cutting an old pine kitchen table top down to a smaller size so we didn’t need to buy a new table, up to this point was going to hand saw, which is not a problem as I am used to it (carpenters son) but seeing the scorpion sitting there I thought I’d give it a go, worked great saved me about 2 hours in time and definitely saved sores muscles the next day

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have selected a 5 star rating for this powered saw as it has helped me as a senior citizen to accomplish jobs that my age has stopped me doing. It is great for small carpentry work & cutting up small logs, plus clearing garden bits like fallen branches.
I find it easy to use & the vibration is not much . I would recommend it to any elderly person who wants to still be able to do odd
jobs around the home & garden.

Used it on aluminium pipes – no problem.
Gave it a go on thick cast iron and it manfully got through eventually.
Probably asking a bit too much I suppose.
Pleased with this for the odd jobs that don’t require too much accuracy.

Golden Review Award: 99 From Our UsersI bought this mainly for garden jobs like cutting up logs for firewood and pruning some large shrubs. It made light work of them. Saves so much time and effort. I have a section of laurel which had gone years without a chop. Last time I cut it back it took ages with a hand pruning saw and is very hard work. This scorpion saw saves all that time and effort, I got so much done in no time and cut what i could ready to burn. Ive used it on some very thick branches and with just a little pressure and sawing movement the tool does a great job. I think the key is not to be heavy handed and force it. Wish I got one years ago, brilliant little thing. I also like the kit box and alternative blades. Not sure if I will ever use the jigsaw function but clever that it has this option. Highly recommended.
I have now owned this for 3 years and its had a lot of use but I broke it cutting a stump out. The blade clamp broke off inside. I found a part online for 5 and replaced it myself, a bit difficult getting the screws out as manufacturers don’t like you to do your own fixes, I was happy to buy another saw but thought I would try and fix it as it was a cheap part and I now have a saw as good as new again. I really should replace the blade, its still the original one and still works well. To fix it you will need a new blade clamp which will come with 2 self tapping screws and a long thin torx security screw driver, or as in my case you tube and a have a go attitude. Its been a great buy and is ready for another year or 3.

Very pleased with this Scorpion saw. I have owned several over the years but this one came with a strong carry case which also lets you keep the extra blades with it at all times. The packing was also excellent. I would not hesitate to buy another from this supplier and would recommend it to anyone.

This was about 30 with kit box and a set of blades. Well the kit box is worth about 10, and the blades worth about 12. So the saw actually costs just 8. The makers obviously make their money from the blades not the saws. This is a good DIY tool. But I broke the one before this (that cost more). And you need to remember it’s more a DIY occasional tool than a Tradesman’s tool like a Bosch or Makita. But given the throw away price unless you need to do a lot of sawing this is a great tool at a great price at 30! I’ve cut up floors and old really thick floor joists with mine, and it’s fine the only issue is that if you hit a nail it kills your blade and it then costs up to 12 to replace it. So use with care around old timbers, and buy blades in packs of 3 on Amazon or ebay as that’s the cheapest way to go. Best to get spare blades before you begin your big project as it’s frustrating waiting to new blades to arrive.

I bought this saw for cutting small branches of trees and for cutting small logs. So far it has performed very well, and doesn’t make as much mess as a chain saw. If I had a quibble, it would be that the wire comes from the top, and can get in the way. It would be better if the wire came from the bottom of the handle. However, so far so good.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this to cut branches that were too thick and strong for my manual loppers .It certainly does that. Its also light to hold,so ideal if you are small like me and need to climb ladders to reach some of the taller branches. Don’t expect it to cut down an oak tree but for those thick privet and conifer branches ,it does the job. It does vibrate when you cut the thicker branches and it won’t cut the very flimsy branches that you would usually cut with a strimmer. Overall I think its great and good value for the price, it also comes with a smart case for easy storage.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Userssaw comes in its own plastic case which is handy when stowing away, its light and easy to use, have used the saw to cut 6×3 timber, the saw handled the job well even though the wood was left out in the rain the night before, handy for the diy but don’t think the saw would be any good for professional on site work because its not robust enough, think I might have problems with the plastic cable going into the top of the handle, the cable is the cheap stiff plastic stuff that dos,nt bend easily, if you take your time cutting it can be quite accurate, only time will tell if I bought a pig in the poke.

My last Scorpion Saw did a fantastic job for many years and only broke down when I was a bit heavy handed with it. Not the fault of the saw! Very pleased to see that other than the colour, the new saw would initially appear to be as good. Plus it has a good case for it to fit in. Much of an improvement to the broken cardboard box my previous saw had to live in.
    Delivered well on time.

Just used this saw in ernest for the first time. 30 fence panels had to be replaced so used
this to cut them. It took a fraction of the time if I had hand cut them and so much easier and painless.
Only gripe is that when using at length, the grip is a little awkward but thats about it.
All in all good value purchase.

It is a handy little saw that does everything I expect it to do. The plastic box it comes in is a bonus that keeps it out of harms way when not in use. I have had one before and it was used regularly to cut up wood for my stove it often was used for work that should have been done by a chain saw but despite heavy use served me well for over two years.

I had at least a year’s worth of timber for the wood-burner which needed to be cut to size – too depressing to do by hand, so this seemed like a good investment. No problems, it could maybe have a bit more ‘punch’, but when isn’t that true ?

I bought it because I had to clear an old wooden shed away. With the electric saw the job became quite easy. A couple of hours work and bingo the job was done. Really the saw paid for itself in one day. Without it I suspect
I would have needed some paid help . Being a wooden shed it contained some hundreds of nails, but with care
I missed them all, as I suspect the blade would have been wrecked, and of course there is no spare supplied.
Good tool and am sure to get more use from it.
