Edited to explain to the complainants, why there are no plugs attached. I have copied the wording from the product information above –
“No plugs are supplied with this product: In the UK it is illegal for a manufacturer to supply an indoor use 3 pin plug with an outdoor product.”
All uk pond equipment suppliers have to abide by this legal requirement.
This is my second purchase of the Blagden 5in1 3000. The previous one worked perfectly for over 5 years before giving up. My pond is in the sun and 1,500 litres. I have 5 goldfish over 10 inches, who gave me over 20 babies last year so the pond is now overstocked (they are all hiding under the Lilly pads). As you can see the pond is free of blanket weed and the water is clean and clear. I have added 2 of the 3 free Blagden pond pads that I found tucked inside the packaging- thank you, I’ve ordered more.
This pump is very effective and efficient. It’s simple to put together and lift out for cleaning. I’m a 70 year old woman so I appreciate how easy this is to use and maintain.
The price is very reasonable when compared to buying a separate filter box and pump which I’ve had in the past and this works just as well. There’s the added bonus of no leaking hoses and jubilee clips to wrestle with either. Please forgive the ugly netting, we have a very determined Heron who lives on a nearby lake but he hasn’t taken any – yet!
I don’t tend to write product reviews but I feel this pump / filter warrants an exception. I’ve struggled for years to maintain a healthy pond and have used a lot of the green water treatments on the market to no avail. Until now, I’ve only had a pump in the pond and, whilst they help with aeration and water circulation, they don’t do anything in terms of cleaning the water. I’d been toying with the idea of installing an external UV filter but was put off by all the pipework, additional power requirements and all the work I’d need to do to conceal the equipment. I’ve watched lots of YouTube videos and people are digging holes, building waterfalls and all manner of elaborate water features. This felt like a hell of a lot of work, so when I saw this product, I was excited but, given all the fails I’d had in the past, I was also slightly skeptical. I installed the Blagdon pump 2 weeks ago and the pond water had the appearance and texture of pea soup. As you can see from my before and after shots, the difference it’s made is nothing short of remarkable! I’ve had to take the pump out a few times to clean the filters (which were thick with silt and grime), however, even after 1 week, it was clear that the pump was doing its job. Now, 2 weeks on, I’m now looking at a perfectly clear and healthy looking pond. I can’t recommend this product highly enough!
Seems to be doing a good job.
Replaced another Blagdon pump which had given good service and this one is a little larger and is so far doing a much better job. Water after a couple of days is clear and staying clear. The night light is a novel idea making it possible to see the fish swimming around at night.

Exactly as described on the box
This is a replacement as the casing was broken. Replacement issued same day so no problem. Does not come with a fitted plug and instructions do not say what fuse should be in the plug. Easy to install and assemble can be used with or with the light and fountain.
New Pond Pump
Very nice pond pump / filter system. Easy to set up. Really like the light which comes on in the pond when it gets dark. Plenty of choices of fountain heads.
I moved to a house just over 2 years ago that has a pond, with a pump from the same manufacturer. You couldn’t see more than a few inches beneath the surface and the pump needed cleaning almost every week at first, then every few months, and whilst the water became clearer, after 2 years, we still couldn’t see the bottom of the pond. We replaced the old pump with this one, and within a week we could see the bottom of the pond, for the first time ever. It’s a great pump/filter, I wish I’d got one soone
One of the best all in one pond filters
What can I say. I bought blagdon because I trust the blagdon brand. It has lots of filter media in it. It is very easy to lift out of my raised patio pond due to large lifting handle plus it is easy to clean. The led light looks great when the fountain is running. Another plus for me is no more leaky pipes from pump to external filter box as it is all inside the pond.

Not as good as it could be.
My fish have bred so the 3000 5 in 1 pump is no longer adequate for my 2500 litre pond, so I have upgraded to the 6000 5 in 1 pump. I like the product, otherwise would not have bought the same make again, but it does have some design faults.
The transformer for the uv lamp is too far away from the plug so it is difficult to disguise or house.
I have removed the light bulb to stop it shining in our bedroom window or annoying the fish during the night. It is a feature that should be switched separately, or removed in favour of a separate solar light which is what I have done.
It is best to use the largest diameter hose possible, to get enough flow to a water feature, or the pipe friction seriously reduces the flow. I am using 18mm (inside diameter) which fits straight on to the top of the pump.
I found that, in the Spring, tadpoles get tragically imbedded in the coarse filter, so I put a polymer wool filter on the top which helped.
Worth buying
Keeps the water clean and clear – pretty easy to clean – can adjust fountain height – comes with light- light remains on 24/7 unless you get your hand wet and cover the sensor. You need plug for filter and light- two cables come out of pump at opposite sides of unit.

Totally clear pond within 7 days …
We tried everything to turn our pea soup pond clear again .. we weren’t even sure we still had fish in there !!! Within 7 days we could see the bottom & our 2 new baby fish we didn’t even know we had would highly recommend no more chemicals, barley straw etc just this pump with its lovely night light & fountain – fab

Clear water now!
After many chemical attempts to clear the pond water I invested in this. Pictures show how much green is filtered out of the pond and in one week I can now see the bottom having not been able to for years. It’s really easy to disassemble to clean and then reassemble. Great product- worth every penny!

It’s cleaned up my dirty pond so much the water is now clear and I can see my fish again I have had to clean the filters a couple times since purchasing which was nice and simple to do this, the light is bright enough to look good but not to bright to be disturbing at night there is a range of tops for this fountain feature as well so it’s nice to look a

It does what it promised which is excelle
It is really hard for me to lift in and out of the pond as I am elderley. I use a thick cord tied onto the handle to lower it into the pond and that enables me to be able to pull it up and out for cleaning. Its excellent for keeping the pond clear and my twelve fish are happy again!

Replacement for our old In-pond pump and filter. Original went well and easy to clean etc so hopefully this will be same. Water already far clearer, had to replace original when couldn’t get the UV light housing out to replace bulb although no problems on last change.

From past experience this product is very good however as is often the case with most pond filters just as the guarantee runs out the product dies – I had no hesitation though in replacing my broken Blagdon with a new one but unfortunately I had to return it as my fish died after horrendous weather conditions

I am very impressed with this, my pond was very, very clouded and muggy, it was easy to install and within a few days the improvement was noticeable and now the water is completely clear, I would definitely recommend.

This is the second time I’ve brought this pump I’ve two ponds and it works very well I do run them through a secondary filter but you don’t need to, when you think it filters runs through an ultra violet to help control blanket weed and can be a fountain as well as I do run to second filter, they are well worth the money

Finally, a filter/pump which does exactly what it says it will…..and within a week of installing it! I could not believe the transformation of my pond from pea green soup to clear water. What’s more, I discovered I had loads of tadpoles in the pond which I just couldn’t see before the water was clear. Very impressed!

Replacement pump
Bought as an emergency replacement for the previous blagdon pump that’s stopped working. After lockdown has finished I’m going to return it to the shop to see why it’s stopped working! Despite the technical hitch, I still feel it’s a great product.

Unit is quite big and bulky but not too bad to clean, though will have to replace the material inside once in a while, they say monthly. I’ve had it running for a few weeks now and it’s been good, will need to clean it out shortly, so it will be high maintenance, but it’s on the cheap end for an all in one.

WITH SEVERAL BUILT IN FEATURES
The good thing about the Blagdon pump is that as it says it has several functions light, filter, and several different spray features better than buying several different devices.
Assembly is reasonably easy but there are videos on youtube to show you how to assemble the pump if you are not sure, also videos of how to clean the filter.
As expected I found the pump on Amazon to be quite a bit cheaper than my local garden centre.
So far and its early days the pump is working perfectly.

This all in one pond pump has worked a treat in my pond which was very murky like green pea soup! It was easy to assemble and wire into my waterproof electric box. Two wires ( one for the pump and led light, and the other for the UV light). At first the led light did not work even though I positioned the rubber cover over the light sensor so that the light should come alight whether in daylight or night-time. However I positioned the pump into the pond and the pump and waterfall worked ok. Out of the blue the led light came on! So I removed the rubber cover from the sensor and the light went out. After dark the led light came on, so all was working as it should. After a day the pump pressure seemed a bit low so I turned off the power and cleaned out the filters which were clogged up. I did this each day for 4 days and the pond became really clear so that I could easily see all the fish and actually see the bottom of the pond! I will only need to clean the filters about once a month or so from now on.
This is a great pump as it does everything without having to buy separate filters or UV lights.

We were into a third summer of a pond badly contaminated with green algae after the previous twenty two years without a problem. We think the algae was introduced with a dodgy bag of aquatic compost. The pump we were using at the time couldn’t clear it and a larger pump also was unable to clear it. We purchased the Blagdon 5 in 1 6000 in a state of desparation. Reviews that we had read led us to believe that we may have to persevere for a month to get appreciable results. We are now at six weeks and our pond is completely clear and we can see the bottom of the pond which is 24 inches deep. We have had to clean the filters twice per week and they are still filling up with brown silt which I suspect is from the bottom of the pond although we try to dredge it frequently. The cleaning is straightforward once the pump is out although it’s rather heavy to remove and by leaving on the switch for the UV light we are able to check on the bulb with each clean as the inspection cover is in the filter case. This is without doubt the best designed pump we have had, is easy to clean and appears robust in construction. Time will tell on its longevity but I have confidence that, with good maintenance we should get years of service out of it.

Goid value for money pump
The pump quickly cleared the pond. The filter is easy to clean and the only down is the light can not be switched off.
