Absolutely no issues with the working of the pump & filter once I had completed some DIY.
I was not expecting to open a sealed box to find that the UV contact chamber (item 9 in the manual) and the locking nut on the connecting pipe had not been fitted in the filter body (item 14) thereby leaving the quartz sleeve exposed. Presumably, the unit had not been checked prior to sealing the box.

Failed on me once.. but within an hour after dismantling it and checking everything it started without doing anything to it..
Great for cleaning and a modest fountain.
Excellent as a pond filter or low powered fountain. Too low powered for a waterfall.
It has cleaned up my murky pond and runs 24/7. It will be interesting to see how long it continues. I clean it once a week though that should reduce as it continues toclean.

Already had one did a great job. The uv bulb died after 2 years .. so needed new bulb filter materials etc .. decided best to buy another and mix and match parts rather than unistalling old and installing new.

Wow this is the best decision I have ever made the water is now crystal clear so much so I can see every tiny bit of shingle on the bottom of my pond and my beautiful fish of course.
I clean the 3 stage filter system every 5-6 days depending on the amount of sunshine we have had, it’s a minor job that takes 20-30 minutes but it’s well worth it as you will see by the amount of “muddy” deposits it collects. I’m 13 months into using the pump and have never regretted buying it, just remember to change the uv lamp every season to keep the pond in tip top condition.

Its easy to clean and needs sensible cleaning intervals. The night light cant be put on a separate timer circuit which id have preferred. Only way to turn bright night light off os remove bulb!

Bought this product based on reviews expecting big things and I can’t believe the difference it’s made to my pond. The water is crystal clear and I can see right to the bottom of my 750l pond. I bought an oversized filter the 6000 for efficiency and easy maintence.

This was the same as the one I’ve replaced in the pond which served our fish well over five seasons.
We had it assembled and installed within an hour, and having had loads of different pumps over the decades I consider it the best for my pond and the fish are having a ball!!

Easy to set up. Yes you need 2 plugs if using both parts
Very good this being our 3rd one in 7yrs. Just hoping this one lasts more than 18mths this time. Find transformer packs up. All in one which is a bonus. Lovely on our 400lt pond

Took it out of packaging just now to set up in pond and NO PLUGS. What a pain as I now have to buy plugs and fit. For the money I paid I expected it to come ready to fit!

A bit disappointed
Disappointed that my pond is still not crystal clear as advertised, has now been installed for 4 weeks.
I bought this pump a few months ago as our water trough pond got very green and murky. We had to get an electrician in to install the 2 sockets needed and switch we had to buy separately.
The pump cleared the pond completely in a couple of days so we can now see our fish. The pump is easy to clean out using pond/rain water. The light can be set to just come on a night, there is a little flap which can be positioned over the sensor which the instruction book does explain very well.

This was a replacement pump unit because the previous one packed up after what I thought was a very short time (less than 2 years). It was a good price at just under 100, but it is still a lot of money.
Lets hope this one lasts longer – at least I have a clean pond and happy fish!

days after twice cleaning filter.Now 2 weeks since filter was cleaned pond still clear.
I bought this to replace a Hozelock Easyclear that had been installed in my pond for the past 7 years. In that time the water has always been a murky green colour and suffered horrendous algae blooms in summer. So after years of trying everything I could think of, I decided to finally change the filter for a different brand and the results are staggering. Within 7 days of installing the new Blagdon 3000 the pond is crystal clear and we can see the fish even when they are at the bottom of our 60cm deep pond. Quite what the difference is between the two manufacturer’s units I do not know, but the Blagdon does have more filter media and the water seems to flow over the UV bulb in a slightly different way. It is a bit bigger and heavier than the Hozelock but it works and that is the important thing.

Our pond was so green & we have spent a fourtune on green water treatments but to no avail , we decided to empty the pond of 2000lts refill & buy this pump , Well all I can say is buy one of these it is amazing, we can now see the bottom of the pond & all thats going on !! . Perfect for small ponds
The water had turned green in my pond by the time I installed the pump. It was clear within days. The light lights up the bridge over my pond as well as the fountain and looks quite spectacular. It also gives a good flow to my waterfall. The fish also seem very pleased with it!
Having tried a few others without much success in my small pond I finally came across this. The UV lamp keeps the algae under control of course but what really does the business is the large area triple filter system. The final filter at the bottom is a layer of “polywool” and this is what takes out the finer particles. You will need to take the unit out and clean the filters out from time to time but heigh ho, they do the job better than any other make I know. I buy a fresh UV lamp at the start of each season and replace that bottom polwool filter from time to time as it gets too clogged up for further cleaning.

Great a keeping crystal clear water in affinity tank I have 3 fish in my half moon tank Filters need cleaned roughly every fortnight Had to buy this to replace previous same pump which had lasted several years You have to buy the whole unit though as the pump is not available seperately
Connect cables drop pump into Pond its as easy as that !!!! I have a spare set of filters so it takes 5 mins to change them … Wash out dirty filters with garden hose leave to dry till next time Dependant on water, change UV bulb once or twice a year This is a replacement , the old one lasted over 9 years Recommended as its all in one ,thats all you need !!

have had cheaper pumps/filters over the yrs & basically they have been rubbish not clearly pond etc. I’ve had the 2000 for small ponds & it started to clarify pond water within days.
only 4/5 stars lost a point due to the fact the the led light dues not turn off automatically as advertised.contacted blagdon about this & they replied that it was a printing mistake on box. so for this model the led do not turn off automatically etc.so I’ve removed led which is easy enough to do to reduce running costs etc
comes with two plugs , 1 for the led/pump the other for the uv filter. so if you choose u can switch off the uv filter if you want when pond water has cleared again reducing running cost. overall very happy y with this good product whiz has stepped up to the mark clearing my pond & i can now actually see my fish.
Works exactly as promised

Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to buy a pond pump! As a heads up, when you go to install the pump you will need two plugs to wire this yourself.

Another Happy Custome
Previously had a tiddly pump in a smaller pond and was forever squeezing out the miniscule filter. Now have a bigger pond so bought this best and over-specced it to make my life easier. Good move! Its filters (three of them) pull out a huge amount of algae and stuff, but, a., I service it once every three weeks or so, and 2. my pond is effortlessly clear! Now I can see my fish!
Edit after just over 2 years the pump has died. Although covered by a 3 year manufacturer’s warranty, it is impossible to get through to Amazon to arrange a repair! No longer the 0800 phone and only circular menu options. This has made my perception of and probable future dealings with Amazon take a tumble. Leaving the stars as, otherwise, it’s a great pump

Pleased with produc
Bought this based on the good reviews and have not been disappointed. Looks lovely and has been reliable (at time of writing a few months into use.) Helping to stop my pond freeze over. The light at night is pretty although I’m not sure if it’s keeping the fish awake? Love the choice of fountains.
In general I’m pleased with this product (it is quite reliable and quiet), but please be aware of a few things:
1. please keep in mind that the volume rating of 6000Liters is for clear pond w/o ANY fish and without any overhanging trees.
I’m using it in 1300L pond with 4 goldfish and some water lilies and this filter needs cleaning on a monthly basis.
2. The pump component requires 12V AC 50Hz (~2.5 Amp), so if you want to run it of a 100-200W solar panel, than an low voltage DC->50Hz AC converter would be required. (also UV component requires mains AC).
3. The water dome fountain feature can get blocked quite easily – better run it with water spitting frog 🙂
PS: get yourself an external filter with separate pump if your pond is over 1000L with some fish near a tree.

Bought this pump for my very small pond which continually required cleaning out due to the green algae which formed. Within one week of running the pump, the pond is now clean and the water is clear and the Fish appear happier than ever before. I’m not a wizard with these things but it only took 5 minutes to assemble and insert into the pond. Have cleaned the filters out – a 5 minutes job. It took me longer to work out how to fit the Fountain attachments and extension pipe than anything else. Great product and would highly recommend for anyone with a small (ish) pond. The night sensor light lights up the pond a treat too. Buy one and you will not be disappointed, so long as you chose the right one for the size of your pond.

Good sturdy product. Does exactly what it says.
Only problem was that the screw thread on one of the tube fittings for the fountain was very difficult to tighten. I thought I was actually going to break the tube. That said, I have no intention of unscrewing it at all now!

Update April 2019, both the UV light and the LED light have stopped working replaced both and they are still not working which points to a faulty unit. Contacted Amazon but they have refused to do anything even thought there is a three year manufacturer warranty. They more or less fobbed me off and told me to contact Blagdon. Not impressed by their attitude. Blagdon responded and informed that Amazon should replace the item. Contacted Amazon again and they now state that their warranty is only two years despite saying three in the advertisement of the product. Again they were very unhelpful very unprofessional on their side

Pumps brilliant.. Would defo buy again. Only thing could do with being better is the instructions. But other than that the service was great, arrived well before the stated delivery date. And works a treat. 🙂 one happy customer.. Thanks.
Thankfully it has achieved its task of keeping my pond water nice and clear.
Nice and compact. I like the design and the way it’s easy to pull out of the water to clean the filters etc.
The two cables seem a bit clunky, but I understand the reasons. One low wattage one for the pump and LED light. Another mains cable for the UV light which is hopefully doing its job of killing off some algae, (or some other green nasties). Would have been nice if the cables could have been combined in some safe way with the transformer still outside the pond.
One weird thing though – occasionally it starts to float on one side causing the fountain to spray water at an angle – sometimes over the edge of my raised pond. I guess there must be a build-up of gas somewhere, (we all suffer from that), but this is easily remedied by placing a brick on the unit to hold it down.
All in all though, I love the fact that it does its primary job well, and the fountain nozzles don’t get blocked.
Oh, being really fussy I’d like a separate “off” switch for the LED light. My model has only “on” and “auto”(which switches it on in low daylight). It seems wasteful having it on during the whole night when the daylight detector switches it on. I know I can remove the bulb but you don’t want to have to do that each evening.

Easy to use and install
Bought as a direct replacement for one that failed – was cheaper to buy this unit than the parts!
Works well for a small pond and the UV filter keeps the water clear (although the bulb supplied didn’t work)
Easy to change the filter and low maintenance make this a great little pump and filter combo for a good price.

I have a tiny little pond and tried many brands of pump/filter. This is the best so far. Been using for over a month now and pump flow still going strong. Not had to clean filter yet. Water is crystal clear. With previous pumps, I’d be cleaning every other day in the summer! Well worth the money
All in all a good purchase of so far a great product!
Worked straight out of the box although I did give it a wash down first to make sure no manufacturing chemicals remained. The different IP ratings on the power supply’s and the provided cable lengths do mean you cant locate the supply’s together unless you coil up some of the cable or cut them to length (supplied connectors are moulded.. Dooh!). So, be aware that you may need to make compromises as to the placement of these or purchase connectors.
Bought this Inpond All-in-One Blagdon Pump with Fountain after previous trouble with two other pumps. This does exactly what is says and after two weeks we got crystal clear water after the pea green water which the goldfish had to endure all summer! It is easy to take in and out of the pond as it has a foldable handle and it is also very easy to clean out and maintain. It is an excellent product and I love when the fountain lights up at night and gives a lovely effect. I would recommend it to anyone as a pump that will really work.

long last we have my pond problems sorted water now lovely and clean I had tried all sorts before even to empty pond wash out and start again all that hard work and this all in one as give me back some quality time for me

I have yet needed to clean the pump itself which is pretty impressive when you think of the state of the pond. BUT, beware. It has 2 plugs which are not included. I happened to have an electrician on site when the pump arrived. Otherwise I would have had to send it back. For this reason I should really only give it 3 stars, but it is such a fantastic water feature that i just could not bring myself to penalise it because of the incompetence of those who do not give clear info and do not add 2 plugs.

We have a pond which is quite shallow 450mm and 3metres by 1.5 metres that was bright green with algae and we wasn’t sure if the pump would be up to the job, but within a week of installation we had crystal clear water. there is still algae clinging to the side of the pond but that too is gradually clearing. we have to clean the filters quite often at he moment but I am sure this will only need to be done on an
occasional basis in the future. the only downside is that to stop the whole pump floating to the surface we needed to lay a small paving slab on the bottom of the pond and hold the pump down with a bungee strap

Bought this item for a new above ground pond which had turned very murky after a few days did not have too much confidence in it though it had some good reviews. Had to remove and clean the filters several times but it certainly did the job.A very good buy.
I brought this item in April ready to use in May as I was moving my koi fry from small vat to large growing on vat this unit has bin in my new vat for just four weeks hence water was very green as water was aged by 8weeks ready for koi pump working fine but after four weeks no improvement to water colour,time to pull pump out !! Glad I did as the unit housing the 5w uv bulb was totally melted lucky it has a water tight seal and blow its fuse in plug ,cut long story short quick call to amazon explain in’ s and out’s replacement sent first class came next day (call was on Friday was here by 5pm Saturday evening and new one back in vat time will tell.five star for customer services 4 stars for produc
This is brilliant. It does a great job of keeping our fish pond clean. The light works perfectly and automatically. The fountain is a great effect, and you have a few choices to suit your taste. A few people have asked me where I got it from now. It’s a good safe purchase, and one you won’t regret. We’ve had it a year now with no problems at all. The filter is also very easy to clean.

Pump was delivered with a broken handle but I managed to repair because I desperately needed oxygen. still working but difficult to lift in or out of pond.
Wish we had bought this years ago! We have struggled fighting green water and excess algae for years as our pond is in full sunlight and we have koi . We installed this on Tuesday evening and by Wednesday morning the water was clear! We have never seen the bottom of our pond until now and the fish were always swimming around in cloudy water, now we can see our fish again. The only thing I would say is it wasn’t clear from the description if this would be suitable for our very shallow pond (45cm). We decided to risk the purchase and it is absolutely fine.
Highly recommend this product to anyone who has a small shallow pond with green water problems-it’s a miracle cure.
Surprise!
Took almost a month to clear our totally clogged and lifeless pond. However it did it and we discovered we still had a large carp alive, if rather ‘visually confused’, living there in!
No fuss, so simple.. works brilliantly
This is our second pump. it is absolutely brilliant keeping our pond crystal clear, weed free. Only thing is there is no option to turn the spot light off in the evening that comes on when it goes dark… although we are use to it now it is quite fun watching our shubumbkins and stickle back shapes in the water and added bonus the light attracts the midges which in turn feed the fish.
