This shredder is one of the best I’ve used. It is very quiet compared to others i’ve used. The bin holds quite a lot of shredded paper and it can shred quite a few sheets at one time, about 14 or so. All in all, it’s a really good buy.

I have been decluttering the house and lots of paperwork to shred. It’s the nest one I have ever bought.
I bought this for use in the offices of Eden Animal Rescue, a small local charity. The old shredding machine had packed up and we did need a good but not too expensive replacement. This seemed to fit the bill.
It is a bit smaller than I expected but is perfectly OK for our needs. The cross cut shredding means we have no worries about confidentiality of destroyed documents. It works reasonably quietly given what it does and is also reasonably quick. I think it is ideal for a home office or a small office like ours. It certainly represents good value for money.

This is an excellent shredder. We have been using it a lot since we bought it and have had no issues. We have shredded paper and cardboard and not had a problem. I would recommend it to anyone.
Seems well built and handles the tasks well as long as you don’t try to do too much at a time. Good capacity in bin and shreds the paper up very well. Not cheap but worth the money if you have a lot to do.
Dealt very well with multi pages and reduced them to undecipherable sized pieces.
It is easy to remove the container of shredded paper and empty it. the warning light comes on if you try and shred something it is not designed to do.
so far the shredder does everything I would expect, it shreds into tiny pieces and is nice and quiet.

I wanted a shredder that was mid-way between a small one and a really heavy duty one. This will shred 14 pages, although it is recommended you only shred about 10 pages at once. It seems to work fine.
My other shredder was getting past its sell by date, as it stopped shredding into bits. This one is brill, a lot quite than my other one and holds a lot more. Should of bought this months ago.

I am really pleased with the Bonsai office shredder. It is well made and much quieter than my previous shredder (please note this was a different make). I love that there is a door at the front which allows the collection box to be removed. It is an excellent home office shredder.

We have been limping along for a number of years with a shredder less powerful than this and which needed regular rests. This is much better. Shreds really well and I can do more at a time. I don’t put multiple sheets in at one time as I know from experience that it just leads to it all clogging up and over heating. Easy to empty and like the fact you can see through the front how full its getting.
I am very impressed with this shredder. It shreds quicker and keeps shredding for longer than any shredder I have owned. My previous rexel used to shred for maybe 10 mins and then shut down for 20-40 mins to cool down. This one just keeps going, I have shredded for over 30 mins and it didn’t shut down at all – I think the fact it has a built in fan to help exhaust the hot air helps a lot and I am surprised most other shredders do not have this feature.
Compared to other larger supposedly heavy duty shredders this is compact but heavy duty, chomping its way through up to 14 pages at a time. The instructions suggest oiling the blades every 5/6 times you empty the bin, which I will do to preserve it – so make sure you purchase shredder oil at the same time
Excellent value. Whizzes through large volumes of paper. Best shredder of the 4 we have owned. Although slightly noisy, it is expected when it chews its way through 12 – 14 pages at a time. I would thoroughly recommend this shredder for high volumes, small businesses. Does not jam if used sensibly and runs for a very long time before overheating switch comes on.
Works well although be sure not to overfill the box otherwise when you empty it a lot of paper shreds end up on the floor.

This is a good machine. Does a few sheets at a time although I wouldnt risk doing the maximum it says. Its fairly noisy and the noise does carry on for a few seconds after you have finished unless you turn it straight off. Drawer pulls out for easy emptying, just make sure you push it it at the bottom of the drawer or the light will flash. I have a bag in mine to catch the bits so not sure if this is why put pushing it at the bottom seems to fix it bette
I have bought shreaders before which have left me frustrated as they can only be used for a couple if minutes before they cut out and need to cool down.
I used this continuously for 30 minutes and created 3 black bin liners of shreaded paper fot my compost heap and it coped fine. It creates strips of shredded paper rather than tiny cross cut pieces but thats fine for me. Very happy with it in my home office.

So pleased with this shredder it does what it says on the tin. I never put the amount of paper through it says you can so not sure if that works. It has 30 minuites runtime brilliant if you have quite a bit of shredding. It is also a lot quieter than the ones I have had in the past. I would deffinitely recommend this product worth every penny.
With my pervious shedder giving up on me I need something that would be a good workhorse as I have a lot of documents with info that needs a good shedder. A lot quieter than my old one, deals with the paper and staples really well. It is more expensive than my old one but as they say buy cheap get cheap, so well worth the money.
I am a private user but do a significant amount of voluntary work for charities and need to destroy names, addresses, etc.
Previous shredder came to bits internally and screws dropped in the cutters. Not worth repairing. This one seems to do what is on the tin. and has not jammed at all in the few weeks I have had it. Slightly noisier than I might have wished for but not a bog issue. Removable bin is good – n lifting off of cutter head with bits dropping everywhere, Provided it is emptied before full it can be emptied with no mess.
Not top rate security size pieces, but adequate. Feed slot not as wide as some a 10 – 20 mm more would have been better.

This Bonsaii C169-B is an excellent shredder. It’s very easy to use. I know that the perception of noise is a very subjective matter but, to my ears at least, this shredder is not particularly noisy.
It can handle it’s stated maximum capacity of 14 sheets without difficulty. However, the advice in the manual is to shred no more than 70% of its maximum in order to maintain its vitality and effectiveness. The maximum amount of 14 sheets should be used only occasionally. Personally, I shred only 8 or 9 sheets at a time.
There is no “bin full” indicator on this shredder, but it’s easy to determine when the bin needs emptying due to the large window at the front. My previous shredder (AmazonBasics 12-Sheet micro-cut) had an LED that lit up when it thought that the bin was full. When this happened, the shredder would stop working. Unfortunately, this shredder developed a fault and thought that the bin was full even though it was completely empty. This rendered the shredder completely useless. No such problem occurs with the C169-B. The pull-out bin itself is very easy to remove (and replace) in order to empty its contents.
This machine has a patented cooling system — after several passes, the cooling fan kicks in. It’s very reassuring to know that the machine is being cooled in this way. I normally wait until the fan stops whirring (usually for about a minute) before continuing with the shredding (but, of course, this is not really necessary — clearly, you can continue without stopping for about 30 minutes).
It is recommended to oil the cutting system on a regular basis in order to ensure the longevity of the shredder. The advice in the manual is to oil the cutters every 5th or 6th time the bin is emptied, but I prefer to oil the cutters every time I empty the bin. I use Fellowes Performance Oil.
This is a superb shredder and I highly recommend it.

Like many folks I have a mountain of sensitive documents that need to be shredded. My current shredder overheats after 5 mins operation, using external services is expensive and has the trust question. This product has enabled me to shred all my documents on almost a continuous basis, the killer features are the 30min continuous operation and large bin. Highly recommended if you have lots of documents to shred.

There is nothing to dislike about this fan it is powerful and quite on the same level as a Dyson. it has a height adjustment great if you want to put in on a desk or sideboard. The remote beeps every time you press it so you know its working. You cant hear the blades going around even at top speed. It does have a timer and sleep mode and it goes up and down or back and forth. All you got to do is choose. If you are looking for a cool down in this heat wave then this is the answe

This shredder was more money than I wanted to pay but I’m really happy I bought it. I can shred multiple pages at a time including coated paper. It does a really great job unless you’re lazy like me and don’t want to empty it often enough!! Keeping up with my daily mail is great but if you have masses to shred it’s very tempting to keep going. I have learned to empty the bin (which is really easy) as soon as i see the shredding building up. If you don’t you get a great big ball stuck in one side. I’m really happy with it.
A great shredder which in comparison to my cheaper Fellowes unit, is quieter, has a greater capacity bin and shredding paper is faster. The shredder also has a built in cooling system.

Does exactly what it claims – handles multiple sheets with no effort. Long operation time between required ‘pauses’ to cool. Almost never needed to do this and we filled 14 x 25 litre paper sacks (4 x shredder bins full in each) in one day. Great price, sturdy, effective and not noisy
Easy to use, plug it in turn it on & feed away. Pausing for breaks to allow it to cool down I cleared 4 sacks with ease. I’d feed as much at a time as your comfortable with I did & I think it would have taken more. Sat feeding all our old confidential paperwork nostalgic & therapeutic. Well built machine & capable of the task.
My last machine did not like old address labels – too sticky, so do watch what goes in and I have now added a regular “oil the works” routine using purpose made lube sheets – long live this new machine!!!
First impressions are very good. I previously two slightly less powerful shredders. This one was more expensive but has performed better then the two together.

This hopefully is the shredder that will last. Having gone through a good number of shredders in the past I am hoping that this is the one to keep, and so far this seems to be the case. I haven’t gone as far as stripping it to check for sure that it actually has a full metal gearset. But is has the sound and feel of a quality device. The problem with all other shredders so far has been the short use time before overheating, and the plastic gearset resulting in catastrophic failure after a short period of use.
This has some cooling for the motor allowing extended run time before overheating. It appears happy to handle substantial (for domestic use) thicknesses and volumes of paper/card. I am lead to believe it has a full metal gearset so that over time it should still continue to operate rather than the cheap platic gears becoming brittle and suddenly failing. – Only time will tell I guess.
I paid more for this after endless frustration with cheaper shredders. For less than 100 at the offer price this proved to be a wise investment. I was faced with a huge pile of 14 yrs worth of old office paperwork with lots of small staples included.
This unit whizzed through the pile without hitting over temp and only jammed once due to my feeding to much through. The autoreverse fixed the jam. I thought I had another jam and the flashing red light was not documented. But it turned out I had not pushed the collection bin home. It’s also nice and quite.
Recommended for occasional small office or home shredding without hassle.
I have had a mountain of old paperwork I needed to shred for a long while. I gave up using smaller/cheaper home shredders as they were not up to the job, having burnt out around 3 of them over the years. But this one is an absolute winner. It munches up the paper like there’s no tomorrow. Money well spent, does exactly as the write up says.
Love the fact I’m not on a timer when shredding! Just keeps going without burnout like cheaper models.
I bought this Shredder in Feb 21 and as I was having a clear out of the office gave it quite intensive use for several weeks. I then didn’t use it for about 3 weeks and when I went to switch it on it blew the 3 amp fuse in the plug. I replaced the fuse but the device still would not power up. I contacted Bonsaii via email and they were very quick to respond. We exchanged a number of emails and pictures and then they offered to send me a brand new unit and didn’t want the old one returned. New unit arrived within a day and I am crossing my fingers that it proves to be longer lasting than the first one. However I can’t fault the Bonsaii aftercare service.
Ran really well. Gave it little breaks to empty the bin and the time to overheat was much longer than anticipated. Note bin pulls forward to remove and empty – took us a while to figure out.
I’m a heavy shredder user and I have often wrecked them in the past. This one is very well behaved, simple to use, and tells you when to give it a rest. There’s a built in fan to cool the motor too.
Has not yet cut out when using for well over the 30 minutes . Has fans which keep it cooler.
Was noisier than expected from the product information but still quieter than my last shredder. All in all very pleased with my purchase
This appears to be a very good shredder but the instruction manual does not say how to open it. I figured it out but the book should say. Otherwise, I have used it once and it seems to be very good
Low noise level, easy to use and spot on for sheerness – probably best in class in fact. Used to dread shredding, two minutes and then stop for half hour, with ever decreasing cycles. Not anymore, in the course of a few evenings I have shredded years of unwanted out of date papers, and this has transformed my life. I am totally converted to this company and it’s products. This is the only shredder you need.
I have only just bought this so I cannot comment on longevity.
Previously, I had one of those basic cross cut machines that goes for 3 minutes then stops for 30 minutes. In fact, it doesn’t even do that and as we are moving house, and have vast amounts of paperwork to shred securely, it was driving me balmy! We would never have got through it all prior to the move.
This machine is brilliant – it seems to go for longer than 30 minutes actually and you really can get through a lot of paper. I did find that I couldn’t feed 14 sheets at a time, though this may have been because a lot of the paper had been in the garage and may have attracted moisture, making it thicker.
Although the idea of a pull out drawer appealed to me as being better than having to take the machine off the top, I found that the drawer is sometimes difficult to get in or out. It also feels a bit flimsy, and it bends a bit, so I hope it will last a long time.
It is a cross-shredder, actually not as secure as the previous cheap machine, as it only shreds to a P3 (is it?) and not a P4 but it seems adequate and perfectly secure for me. I think someone would have just as much trouble trying to piece documents together from the shreds as with the P4!!
The price was far more than I would have considered paying previously, but it is worth it if you have a lot of shredding to do.
Overall I am very pleased with the machine and I think it is worth the price. It works so much better than anything I’ve had before.
Have a lot of paperwork to shred. This machine shreds papers even with paperclips. Not sure if it would shred 12 pages together as I’ve only put 4 or 5 sheets in at the same time.
This was a little more expensive that some shredders we have had over the years but it is a good machine and does a good job of cross shredding.
The drawer is easy to remove for emptying
From the front the “window” outline is badly finished. It looks like plastic covering is over the outline, it looks quite shabby and does not do anything for the look of the machine in fact it lets it’s sleek look down.
This is not as quiet as I expected but on the good side it works very efficiently.
As a bonus you get an extra 6 months in your warranty if you register online, which is a bonus.
I just wanted a shredder that works and I’ve only had it less than a week so it’s bound to be efficient, come back snd ask me after 9 months it may or may no be a different story.
Bought this machine to carry out a major domestic clearance, shredding thousands of document sheets, receipts, bank statements etc over a number of days. This shredder is far superior to an older, smaller unit we have, which just wouldn’t have been up to the job. Although it wasn’t running continuously, having many little breaks, it did have to work hard yet never once auto stopped after half an hour to cool down. The odd paper overload was easy to clear, helped by the auto reverse function. Good bin size, easy to empty.
Seems robust enough.Haven’t used it extensively, but I think for home use this shredder is more than adequate. Haven’t tried 14 sheets though, I think 7/8 is enough.Could have done with carrying handles
I’ve struggled with cheaper models before, that only take 3 or 4 sheets, and frequently get jammed.
This copes with 10-12 sheets, as well as staples, and it is able to keep going for a good length of time before it gets too hot; it even includes a light to indicate that it is overheating, to help protect it.
I also like the bin, which slides out from the front, to minimise mess.
It is also a stable unit and not likely to topple over, like my cheaper shredder seemed to do.

I decided to upgrade from the small shredder I had and opted for this one and it hasn’t disappointed in anyway. I had a stack of papers which could have taken ages to get rid of. Plugged it in and started, the pile soon disappeared and in fact, it took less time than 30 minutes, so I didn’t even have to stop to let it cool down.
Very pleased with this shredder. It replaced one I had had for years which finally broke. Easy to use. Excellent shredding mechanism. I have already used it to shred a backlog of paper. Highly recommend. Looks stylish in our study.
My old shredder was getting slower and noisier and overheating more and more often. I upgraded to this as I have just come into a shedload of bank statements and other personal documents to dispose of. This machine did it in an hour and so quietly compared to my old one. It easily shredded 6 or 8 bank statements at a time and the enclosed paper catcher was far roomier than my old shredders open bin that allowed the dust to circulate.
Highly recommend this if you have a serious amount of shredding to do.
I’ve spent a few hours using this to shred old letters from 10 years ago! It didn’t overheat, it took multiple sheets of paper at once and even shredded envelopes with plastic windows. It shreds quite quickly as well and it is simple to empty (once you figure out how to – see comment below)
My only drawback is that I had to use a youtube tutorial to figure out how to empty the shredder as this isn’t included in the instructions (and I didn’t want to break it).
I’ve had several shredders over the years and all of them have over heated after 5-10min of use.
This one has been used for 20-30 mins without over heating. It has a built in fan to prevent overheat. The cooling fan and the main motor are both quiet, i used it while watching TV. Also no issue with paper jamb
