Quality of produc
A great shredder which in comparison to my cheaper Fellowes unit, is quieter, has a greater capacity bin and shredding paper is faster. The shredder also has a built in cooling system.

Brilliant robust shredde
Does exactly what it claims – handles multiple sheets with no effort. Long operation time between required ‘pauses’ to cool. Almost never needed to do this and we filled 14 x 25 litre paper sacks (4 x shredder bins full in each) in one day. Great price, sturdy, effective and not noisy

Works well - long may that be the case
My last machine did not like old address labels – too sticky, so do watch what goes in and I have now added a regular “oil the works” routine using purpose made lube sheets – long live this new machine!!!

I haven’t gone as far as stripping it to check for sure that it actually has a full metal gearset. But is has the sound and feel of a quality device. The problem with all other shredders so far has been the short use time before overheating, and the plastic gearset resulting in catastrophic failure after a short period of use.
This has some cooling for the motor allowing extended run time before overheating. It appears happy to handle substantial (for domestic use) thicknesses and volumes of paper/card. I am lead to believe it has a full metal gearset so that over time it should still continue to operate rather than the cheap platic gears becoming brittle and suddenly failing. – Only time will tell I guess.

Rapidly worked through a pile of office paperwork without a hitch
I paid more for this after endless frustration with cheaper shredders. For less than 100 at the offer price this proved to be a wise investment. I was faced with a huge pile of 14 yrs worth of old office paperwork with lots of small staples included.
This unit whizzed through the pile without hitting over temp and only jammed once due to my feeding to much through. The autoreverse fixed the jam. I thought I had another jam and the flashing red light was not documented. But it turned out I had not pushed the collection bin home. It’s also nice and quite.
Recommended for occasional small office or home shredding without hassle.
Best shredder I’ve ever bough
I have had a mountain of old paperwork I needed to shred for a long while. I gave up using smaller/cheaper home shredders as they were not up to the job, having burnt out around 3 of them over the years. But this one is an absolute winner. It munches up the paper like there’s no tomorrow. Money well spent, does exactly as the write up says.

Good strong Shredde
I bought this Shredder in Feb 21 and as I was having a clear out of the office gave it quite intensive use for several weeks. I then didn’t use it for about 3 weeks and when I went to switch it on it blew the 3 amp fuse in the plug. I replaced the fuse but the device still would not power up. I contacted Bonsaii via email and they were very quick to respond. We exchanged a number of emails and pictures and then they offered to send me a brand new unit and didn’t want the old one returned. New unit arrived within a day and I am crossing my fingers that it proves to be longer lasting than the first one. However I can’t fault the Bonsaii aftercare service.

Ran really well. Gave it little breaks to empty the bin and the time to overheat was much longer than anticipated. Note bin pulls forward to remove and empty – took us a while to figure out.
Robust; effective and compact.
I’m a heavy shredder user and I have often wrecked them in the past. This one is very well behaved, simple to use, and tells you when to give it a rest. There’s a built in fan to cool the motor too.

Easy to use, a little on the noisy side ( not unbearable). The most expensive shedder I’ve brought to-date – but worth it! Use for 2 hours without it over heating or any paper jam.

I have only just bought this so I cannot comment on longevity.
Previously, I had one of those basic cross cut machines that goes for 3 minutes then stops for 30 minutes. In fact, it doesn’t even do that and as we are moving house, and have vast amounts of paperwork to shred securely, it was driving me balmy! We would never have got through it all prior to the move.
This machine is brilliant – it seems to go for longer than 30 minutes actually and you really can get through a lot of paper. I did find that I couldn’t feed 14 sheets at a time, though this may have been because a lot of the paper had been in the garage and may have attracted moisture, making it thicker.
Although the idea of a pull out drawer appealed to me as being better than having to take the machine off the top, I found that the drawer is sometimes difficult to get in or out. It also feels a bit flimsy, and it bends a bit, so I hope it will last a long time.
It is a cross-shredder, actually not as secure as the previous cheap machine, as it only shreds to a P3 (is it?) and not a P4 but it seems adequate and perfectly secure for me. I think someone would have just as much trouble trying to piece documents together from the shreds as with the P4!!
The price was far more than I would have considered paying previously, but it is worth it if you have a lot of shredding to do.
Overall I am very pleased with the machine and I think it is worth the price. It works so much better than anything I’ve had before.

Have a lot of paperwork to shred. This machine shreds papers even with paperclips. Not sure if it would shred 12 pages together as I’ve only put 4 or 5 sheets in at the same time.

This was a little more expensive that some shredders we have had over the years but it is a good machine and does a good job of cross shredding.

From the front the “window” outline is badly finished. It looks like plastic covering is over the outline, it looks quite shabby and does not do anything for the look of the machine in fact it lets it’s sleek look down.
This is not as quiet as I expected but on the good side it works very efficiently.
As a bonus you get an extra 6 months in your warranty if you register online, which is a bonus.
I just wanted a shredder that works and I’ve only had it less than a week so it’s bound to be efficient, come back snd ask me after 9 months it may or may no be a different story.

Seems robust enough.Haven’t used it extensively, but I think for home use this shredder is more than adequate. Haven’t tried 14 sheets though, I think 7/8 is enough.Could have done with carrying handles

My old shredder was getting slower and noisier and overheating more and more often. I upgraded to this as I have just come into a shedload of bank statements and other personal documents to dispose of. This machine did it in an hour and so quietly compared to my old one. It easily shredded 6 or 8 bank statements at a time and the enclosed paper catcher was far roomier than my old shredders open bin that allowed the dust to circulate.
Highly recommend this if you have a serious amount of shredding to do.

Great little shredder that hasn't overheated yet!
I’ve recently been having a bit of a clear out and finally got around to shredding the last 15 years of un-needed bank statements and other redundant paperwork! I had a cheap shredder that would overheat after a few mins which that I wouldn’t effectively be able to shred-as-I-sort as it would stop working after a relatively small batch of shredding. It also couldn’t handle more than a few sheets at a time, which meant removing everything from envelopes. So I decided to upgrade.
After checking around a bit, I came across this shredder which had the right balance of size, cost and shredding time. I’ve been delighted with it! It fits neatly under my desk without taking up too much room and, so far, hasn’t overheated while I’ve been doing my sorting, though the fan has kicked in (which is a good thing)! Very glad I bought it! It’s not the quietest, but not really that loud as shredders go and it munches through envelopes with old bills with relative ease so it suits me down to the ground.
Love the 30 minute run time and the number of sheets it can simultaneously shred.
Whilst I rarely will shred documents with the maximum number of pages the shredder can handle, knowing it can shred more means it is less likely to get jammed and likely to have a longer run time before over heating.
I have had cheaper units from a well known high street stationary company which eventually burned out, so this time I went for a heavier duty unit to ensure it lasts longer.
The slide-in containing for catching the shredded paper is an improvement on the cheaper types where you have to lift off the shredder from the bin, which invariably results in cut paper being deposited on the floor and a vacuuming of the floor required afterwards. The slide-in/out bin doesn’t eliminate that completely, but perhaps I will get better at pulling the bin out and avoid dropping cut paper.
I have used it once for a fairly heavy session of dozens of documents and it coped well.
I’ve gone through quite a few sub 50 paper shredders over the years. With identity theft at high levels, shredding your personal papers is more important than ever. A letter with your name and address on it often have reference codes on them and this is like gold to identity thieves.
Although I shred all correspondence as a matter of course, I do have a tendency to let them pile up and then do a mass shredding. Cheap shredders don’t like this. A lot of them only have a 5-minute run time before they need to cool down. This can be so frustrating when you just want to get the job done.
This one from Bonsaii is a little bit more expensive but it claims a 30-minute run time. To be honest I was sceptical. So, I was presently surprised to see that the claimed run time was actually an understatement. I used it for well over an hour and shredded five carrier bags stuffed with correspondence without the unit overheating.
The reason it has such a long run time is that it incorporates a cooling fan at the rear of the unit. A simple solution to getting rid of excess heat. The claimed 14-sheet capacity is pretty accurate depending on the thickness of the paper. It’s very rare to hear the motor struggling even a little bit. It’s a hungry little monster. It also claims to take staples and paper-clips. To be honest, I haven’t tried any paper-clips but I have shredded a lot of stapled documents. This saves a lot of time.
Even after shredding five bags of correspondence, I have yet to get a paper jam. It has the usual reverse mode if you do get one but I haven’t needed it. The main thing is to keep an eye on the storage bin and empty it before it gets too full. It’s a pull-out bin which makes emptying a breeze. Our local council lets you put shredded paper in the garden waste bin which is great. I have no concerns about anyone being able to piece together the shredded paper. I would say it’s on the verge of impossibility.
Overall, it’s worth paying the little extra for this shredder. Hope that helps.
Brilliant machine
This shredder does exactly what I bought it for, to destroy pieces of paper by turning it into little bits (X-cutter).
Very large capacity bin with a clear window in it makes it so much less messy than other brands where you have to pull the bin out to see if it’s full, scattering bits all over the floor.
Even though the PCB board which controls the on/off and auto switch packed up after 9 months of very little use, I have still given the product 5 stars because the manufacturers, Bonsaii.com were outstanding! They replied within 24 hours, and sent me a replacement within 48 hours.

Good shredder, solidly made, quiet. We were confused at first as we had to lift the lid on our previous shredder, but we couldn’t get the lid off this one, then my husband realised that the box pulled out from the front, but there were no instructions to this effect. We have used it for 6 months now and have no complaints.

Fantastic bit of kit !
Overwhelmed by quantity of confidential paper i needed to make secure before moving house. Bought this, thought it might be OTT , but worth every penny. My late husband worked from home (accountant) so needed to make sure all older stuff safely destroyed. Bought the oil to secure it’s long life. Peace of mind restored.

I was in need of something more effective than my previous shredder and this one has been perfect. It has a large box for catching the shredded documents, which is easy to remove in order to empty. You can put a large number of sheets in at any one time and there are no issues. A nice simple to use design, that is also not ugly on the eye.

Cons
Does not sense when basket is full (has a sensor but doesn’t work). Kept shredding until it absolutely could not force any more in at which point there was a noise and a little smoke. Messy and tricky to empty when so full, and had to spend a while removing the paper crushed up into the blades. However worked fine again once cleaned and oiled and hav had no further problems now that I keep an eye on how full it is getting.

Does require oiling every 3-4 emptyings.

Would recommend this shredder. Does the job well so long as care is taken not to overfill. Less noise, less of a struggle, and faster than smaller shredders I have had in the past, so definitely worth the extra money. Pleased with the purchase

We bought this for use at home and initially I had to put it through its paces as I had a log of shredding which needed doing. The shredder coped really well and I like the way it cools it self down with its fan when it starts to get a little hot. The way it shreads means that it can get a lot of paper in its bin so doesn’t need changing too often, and although it is quite heavy to move about, it is straightforward to pick up. Definitely quieter than my previous shredder and suits and it’s fine.

Shredding made easy, and cuts paper with no problem. Cuts plastic cards too, but be careful when you insert them as the unit could jam. Recommend to purchase shredding lubricating oil and to use frequently, as stated in the instructions.

Brilliant product, very quiet, has a built in fan to prevent overheating, and yes it really does run for 30 minutes. It is worth paying that little bit more for a top quality product like this, great delivery time too. I would definitely recommend.

Eight bags of shredded paper 😲
So far this item has been faultless, I have moved houses mant times over the years and accumulated a mass of paper that required shredding. I bought this and put it to good use generating eight bags of shredded paper, the only downside was emptying the bin, but I was doing a large amount. I would recommend this item, it’s been excellent so far.

Excellent machine
This is a replacement for an old, different make shredder which is no longer up to the job. It’s brilliant. It shredded as much in 30 minutes as the old one would have done in a day with its constant cutting out. It happily takes a number of sheets without jamming. I like that the waste box is accessed from the front so the main body stays intact and there is no need to lift off the cutting blades to get at the waste (it’s not possible anyway). Wish I’d got it ages ago

Great shedder!
Got fed up with old shredder that only took 2 sheets of paper at a time and invested in this one. So glad I did! Powered through 4 carrier bags of paperwork in no time and we’ve kept on top of our shredding ever since. Easy to use, hasn’t clogged or got stuck once. I recommend this shedder.

As described and DOES THE JOB VERY WELL, although I think scanning 14 sheets in one go a little ‘optimistic’ (this would make it grunt a bit). Nevertheless it’s a very capable machine and I’m delighted with it. I’ve been shredding hundreds of pages, so far it has coped well and the cooling fan helps ensure it doesn’t overheat. Impressively engineered.

Only done 20 min non stop stint so far – I ran out of material to shred !
Seems to happily consume amything I put through it, doesn’t slow down or struggle.

Powerful Shredder - like a work horse
After owning a well branded shredder for a while, it was showing signs of slowing down and switching off automatically after a short while getting hot, which is standard. It was time for a change.
We decided to go with a shredder with a cooling fan.This was a 1st.
It was that time of year to shred our (old) accounts – and from experience this takes a few days, and hour here and there.The Bonsaii EverShred 14-Sheet Cross-Cut Paper shredder made light work of it. I was sensible and only placed 6-8 A4 sheets in, because they can fold in the corners which can double the thickness. All’s good atm

I’ve killed 3 cheaper shredders and they normally stop working after 5 mins with a 30 min cooling time this thing runs and runs. It easily does 15 sheets at a time and demolished my shredding left over from the last machine death. Very quiet to use and rather than having to lift the shredder off top of a bucket and spill the contents everywhere, this has an easy to remove bin that slides out. Fabulous

I have tested this now for full day, destroyed hundred of pages and it still works like magic. Great buy, however I have yo say it’s a little to expensive. It should be 60 max. Hope it will work like that forever 😉

I shred a LOT of paper and I bought this shredder specifically because it can run continuously for 30 minutes, I’ve not used it for that long yet – probably only or 15/20 minutes continuously – but what a joy that it doesn’t overheat after 5 mins! A bit more expensive than a basic model (that I fell into the trap of buying before this one!) but worth it. Great for people working at home who need something more than a basic model.

Very quiet and efficient to use
Great shedder, can handle multiple pages easily, very quiet, large collection bin that pulls out for emptying (no having to take the shredder off the housing to empty). Very happy with this device, only had a cheap one before that took ages to shred any volume, this churns through a heavy workload quickly. Delighted with my purchase, was also discounted to 87 when I bought it.

I was looking for a shredder that would look good in a home office, sit nicely under a desk and most importantly, shred more than 3 pieces of paper at a time for 5 minutes without it overheating.
This shredder exceeds my shredding expectations, I’ve yet to make it stop due to over heating and its yet to even jam.

Previously we had two shredders. Both were under 90. They would overheat after shredding a few sheets, and they were noisy. Five minutes of shredding, it would overheat. We got tired of waiting for it to cool down after every use. Neither of them were able to keep up with our workflow. We ended up with a big pile of paperwork that needed shredding, but with no shredder up to the task. We needed a new one with a bigger capacity, what stopped us was the price. Was it worth getting a more expensive one?
The answer is yes! This shredder is worth every penny.
This new Bonsai shredder is perfect!
And here’s why:
– It can shred continously for half an like it says.
– It is quieter compared to the other two we had.
– It’s easy to use. Insert paper and shred. No more than 14 sheets at a time which is fine.
– It has a fan cooling system inside.
– The oiling makes it more effective.
So far so good. Just make sure you oil it after every few shred loads. I recommend for office. This is an Office Manager’s new favourite tool. ^_^
You always get what you pay for......
I had ordered a shredder on Amazon to replace one that we had at home for over 10 years. The one we had was not a budget one, but when it broke, I thought “how different can they be”, so I bought a 40 shredder.
How wrong was I? It was painfully slow and had to stop to cool down every few minutes. Then I started to get a burning smell from it, so it was sent back and a full refund was issued from Amazon.
So I bought this brilliant shredder. It handles heavy duty use very well due to the cooling system and it proves you do get what you pay for.
So far so good. I have used it heavily for the past few days and it has performed faultlessly. The only thing I might say negatively is that it would be perfect if it had castors. But this is no big deal.
I would highly recommend it.
Efficient well described shredder.
The shredder was purchased for home office and confidential document shredding. It has proved easy to use and efficient. It has coped effortlessly with these tasks
and hasn’t been required to shred staples, clips, cards or cd’s. I cant remember if it’s meant to do that but it’s bound to last longer if you take a little care.
Overall, very satisfied after a month or so use well within the specification parameters.
