Lightweight with good adjustable handle.
Bought for 80yr old father, who is good physically for his age and loves his gardening. Father is very happy with it. It is light, easy to handle and powerful enough. It is NOT a heavy duty strimmer, but my father has the time and is happy to keep up with the lawn duties, so it is perfect for this use. If you are someone who let’s the grass get like a jungle or you have lots of other things growing in your lawn, then this is NOT the strimmer for you, as the spool is only small. It has a good length power cable, but obviously you need to make sure you do not go over it and cut it. I prefer battery power, but my dad is old school and does not like change. My dad just flings the power cord over his shoulder and he is away. He is very happy and would recommend to his friends.
Does what it needs to
Very easy to use. Slightly strange start as the cord was no getting cut off automatically by the blade under the plastic guard, however after some usage the automatic shortening and retracting mechanism now works well. All in all a good tool, particularly for a first timer.

My first electric grass trimmer - better than shears any day!
This is my first purchase of an electric grass trimmer and it’s so much easier than using shears. It is so easy to use and makes cutting my grass borders a doddle. It’s not that lightweight but cuts through heavy grass swiftly and easily.

I get on very well with the strimmer easy to use
Does the job and does it well.
After reading bad reviews for art 30 I have risked it anyway as I have other Bosh products that were good and glad that I did. Munched through overgrown grass in my large garden without any problems. Had to change the wire once in 3 hours of work – not a big deal. It was only after trying it out on brambles hat the wire gave up, it can deal with thinner ones OK but will fail on thick ones – I was expecting it to fail. It is a bit heavy so if you are not young and fit go for a version with a strip !
Works well
Pleased with this. Has a double line feed so not much cable on the spool, but am still on my first spool even though I have cleared a large area of thick meadow grass in which was a lot of bracken. Really pleased!

Ease of use
This product is efficient and I like the way the spooler is easily extended just by pressing a button. My only slight issue with it is that it could have been a wee bit longer. It works perfectly fine in my opinion.

Bought this to tackle a garden that had been neglected for some time. I have what I would see as a medium sized garden and the area strimmed featured waist high grass and various brambles and weed. This thing did the job, but at times, especially when used to a low level in the brambles you could hear the motor struggling, the solution is just to make sure you move the strimmer slower through the brambles.
Only issue I had was the strimmer line broke on the first day of use, I would probably put this down to me basically cutting my entire garden of brambles in one go and somewhat abusing it by trying to strim through thick brambles 1/4 inch wide. Now that said I do think the strim line could clearly be made with a stronger material as I wasn’t expecting it to give up so quickly, got about 90% of the 10x8m garden done and then ordered replacement chord.

Grass Strimme
Item was as described and easy to assemble. It is very powerful and took some getting used to after having a smaller strimmer. Now that I am used to using it things are ok. I only have a small area of grass and maybe should have waited to get a smaller model. But I have no qualms about recommending this machine it does what is supposed to very efficiently.

I got this to replace an old Flymo strimmer/edger. It is more sophisticated than the old one but there are drawbacks, not least, that you need to get the wheel attachment which is sold separately in order to make this easier to manoeuvre.
I didn’t have too much trouble with it strimming but edging is a different matter and it is quite difficult to do without the wheel. I got that from another site for around 18 so take that into consideration when looking at the price of this compared with others. For some reason, Bosch seems to be doing this more often.
Having said that, this cuts a lot better than the old one so one you get the handling sorted the results are excellent. Height adjusted and lightweight which are all important. I also prefer items with a power cable than having to remember to charge batteries. That also avoids problems others have noted these days that battery powered items being sold without batteries or chargers which is even worse than this case of needing a wheel attachment.

Works well
I don’t use this myself, but my friend who cuts my grass uses it when she comes and she likes it very much. I tried to assemble it myself and failed and had to ask another friend to do it for me .

Very good, did the job
Spent over 2 hours, strimming very long grass, front, side and rear of garden. As grass was very long, 2 feet high, it easily cut through it. Only had to extend the worn away cable twice, which was very easy to do, just pressing side black button in, pulling cable out in sections. Only criticism is that I never used the arm handle, as it’s not in a perfect position, so held the arm below the handle and this made it much easier to use and less strain on back. Well worth the money. Cleaned up after use, cleaning the vents, the cover of accumulated grass.

Great buy
Wish I could have shown you how overgrown the grass was, this is brilliant, easy to use, and if kept low to the ground around the edges where stones are it stops then from flying off in all directions. Did stop it a few times to make sure the engine bit cooled down but it’s a great buy, happy customer.

Perfect strimmer. Exactly what I needed. Easy to assemble. Good price. Highly recommend.
The kit.
I have only used it once , very powerful , easy to use and nice long cable. I am compering it with my old Bosch trimmer , i had for about five years. I would recommend it . And it is made in the EU, NOT made in China…

Great purchase
This was a great purchase my garden is thankful, went through long grass as if it were paper even went through stinging nettles with ease.
Good for cutting rough ground
My previous strimmer had the motor at the bottom so this one is very heavy by comparison as you have to carry the motor and it is top heavy. The strap did ease this a little. The line was poorly threaded and I had to rethread some of it. It cut some very rough ground in minutes. Delivered very promptly ahead of schedule.

Strong but awkward strummer to use and week string!
Very strong trimmer but the string is so week I ve changed it few times which is a nightmare as well! I wonder if there’s a better string out there!
I should have preferred some instructions in English, as not sufficiently clear photographs and diagrams are hard to
understand at the first encounter. Having now assembled the unit and replaced the cutting line, I could probably do
the whole thing very quickly without needing the silly comic book, but it was of limited use the first time. This is
not confined to Bosch products. I have encountered similar problems with Miele, Black & Decker and other makers.
The strimmer has been well worth the purchase price, enabling me to deal with a fairly big lawn which was very
overgrown, due to my ill-health and weather conditions, but it is all cleared now.

Good Produc
Very effective, Heavy even when using neck strap, not easy to use to trim borders as head does not rotate.
Very easy to use.
Very easy to use. I had a Worx one before that i never got working at all. Only slight gripe is that it splatters grass shavings all over walls and buildings.
Save me alot of griff from council
I used it to cut my long grass in my back garden it’s done a very good job ++++++
better than 1st ge
I was put off by weak electric strimmers and moved to petrol but after that died I brought this and it was pretty good to be fair but as usual there is a cord but a part from that a good produc
Works fine after some assembly
Works fine after a bit of assembly at the sta
Is chunky and heavy.
Works well but heavy to use. The change of bottom cut position turned to upright for edging does not work on my model – but ok for general trimming.
easy to put togethe
good strimmer and cuts well but a bit heavy and very touchy switch
Does the job well
Although not an aficionado of strimmers by any stretch of the imagination (this is the first I’ve used / owned) this does the job very well. I use a mower for the main lawn and this for the edge / difficult parts. Auto feed line is great, and the spool lasts quite well as long as you don’t hit any hard objects ie stone / bricks etc. New spools are a doddle to fit, although expensive. I’ve recently bought some Bosch line so I can wind it on the old spool myself, which is a much cheaper option. Not actually tried it yet though!
Easy to use and does exactly what a strimmer should do
Feels well built and quite powerful. Minimal assembly required. Edging feature is very good and gives perfectly straight edges to the garden. Adjustable height feature quick and easy to use and particularly handy for reducing the height when storing after use.
A good low to mid duty strimmer - easily stored.
Very easily stored, light but not up to heavy duty work.
Needs longer shaf
I’m 6′ and have the same problem with all strimmer’s the shaft is too short even at full extension. Think industry is based around users being 5’8″.
Otherwise a good buy.
Bosch....you can't go wrong
This is my second Bosch strimmer. My last one only lasted 20 years so I thought I would give them a second chance.
Good replaceme
This was bought to replace a petrol strimmer and it works just as good, lighter and less noisy. Less vibration on the hands
Great grass trimmer.
A very efficient piece of kit. It tackles fairly long grass with ease.
Well made
I have several Bosch appliances and have been pleased with them which is why I went for a Bosch trimmer. It is well made and well balanced and can make short work of all the weeds in my garden which is a lot!
Exceeded my expectations
This product has really exceeded my expectation based on the price. The product itself is very sturdy and well made. The finish after using it is better than I have seen from any other similar product. I’m so please I got this one and given the quality I’m sure I’m going to get many years of good service from it.

Very efficient cutting and easy to handle. My son was first to use it and called it a beast. The lawn looked better in a matter of minutes

The adjusting handle is great for all heights I’m only 5′ 4

Bosch grass trimmer.
Arrived on time exactly as described exactly what I wanted and I am very happy thanks.
Bought to replace a battery powered Bosch strimmer. It’s okay, does what it’s supposed to, but seems to lack power. Better than battery powered device, but I’ve now bought a 2 stroke petrol strimmer that just performs so much better. While there’s a bit of faff starting the 2 stroke, it’s no worse than managing this Bosch cabling. I’d recommend getting a decent petrol strimmer over this.

Garden never looking so good and very easy to use
Best strimmer I’ve ever owned. The auto-feed works well. Cuts through everything and only twice have I had to manually re-feed the line, once after getting too close to some stone and once after trying to trim brambles so only to be expected. Fully recommended

This would be an excellent trimmer for heavy duty trimming
This would be an excellent trimmer for heavy duty trimming. I am approaching 80 years of age, and I thought it would be too much for me to handle. I only require an 9 inch strimmer for light duty trimming.

Much cheaper than purchasing from a diy store. I need one for doing a large area, really comfortable to use supplied with shoulder strap to take the weight, curved so it’s easy to aim. Typical great Bosch quality.
A bit different from my previous Black and Dekker one and has taken a bit of use to get familiar with the offset orientation of the machine, but obviously good quality and works well.
HAVE ONLY USED THE PRODUCT TWICE.EARLY RESPONSE IS THAT ,AS WITH MOST BOSCH ITEMS,IT IS EXCELLENT,AND DOES A SUPERB JOB ON HARD TO GET AT AREAS OF LAWN.

Parfait pour moi (femme) pas trop leger, ni trop lourd non plus Tres content avec mon achat. Mais il arrivent avec une prise Aglais avec adapteur, pour moi pas de problem.
It’s a great strimmer in every respect except for one big problem, which was why I originally gave this ONE star. .Why? Well, after two decent but not outrageously arduous strims the cord ran out. Trying to put new cord into the strimmer spool with NO guidance from the manual (or the internet) was a nightmare. I tried twice with 1.5mm nylon line and, cut a long story short, both times the gubbins eviscerated itself within 5 seconds and I ended up picking up little strips of line varying in length from 1mm to 20mm all over that patch of the garden!
BUT, here’s how you do it: Remove red cap to access spool. Pull out spool. There are two layers, one for each line. Take a 70cm length of 1.5mm nylon line. Notice that the central shaft of the spool has two little holes, one on each level. Insert your line into the TOP hole and feed it in, [1 cm or so?] Then, now that it’s anchored, wind your line in the direction of the arrows [important as there’s a ratchet system and this will feed the line OUTwards]. Keep winding. At the top of the spool there are two notches, and another two on the other side. Take the last 15 cm of line and feed it up through one notch and down through the next. This holds it all in place while you repeat the process for a second length of line on the bottom level.
You should now have a spool with two pieces of line sticking out. Feed them through the two silvery metal ‘eyes’ of the outer sleeve and click the spool down into place. Fix the red cover back on and off you go! 🙂
[Legal disclaimer: If this goes wrong you’re on your own! But it worked for me 🙂 ]
Great bit of kit. I have a large garden and so far, it has coped admirably with everything thrown at it. Sturdy shoes are a must as it is very easy to strim your feet, as I have found out.

Works well, height is adjustable which is nice and also makes storage a lot easie
Great for the price, easy to set up and use, however still has the problem with the cable release system, as commonly found on all these automated release cable bush cutters. A better brand that doesn’t melt (the cable that comes with it fuses together and causes problems separating). A shorter cable also reduces this problem.
The over body strap balances the unit well, and this is important when using the trimmer for more than 40 minutes as the unit becomes heavier in use and causes fatigue.
The power cable is shockingly short. I wonder if this was deliberate so that you would buy the wireless version (selling at almost 3 times the price). A simple reel power extension cable remedies this, but it’s just extra work.
One thing though, with the amount of time wasted on resetting the trimmer cutting cable, the location of the power cable hinders holding the unit upright as such you need to balance the trimmer on a large flat surface (such as the lawn) and bend down to fix the cutting cables each time, which makes a tiresome job more tiring.
It try to score it 3.5 out of 5, but as you can’t award a half star, I’ve rounded up to 4.
Good overall despite some common shortcomings.

Very happy.
As described, powerful enough to tackle my overgrown garden. Very happy.
Very good strimmer….The downside is after using this last season and this, I need to buy a new spool which is not cheap at almost 10. I have my doubts as to whether the product is supplied with a full spool or a shorter amount, if supplied with a full spool it is going to be expensive at 10 every season and a half…. The other downside which I think is worse is, that there is no safety switch which has to be pressed before the lever can operate the strimmer, meaning if you pick up the strimmer by the handle it is far to easy to set the strimmer going… Just be careful.
A very good trimme
Very pleased with this grass trimmer, it seams a lot more powerful than the small petrol equivalents. I would certainly recommend this trimmer to anyone who has got a power supply to their garden.
Excellent grass trimmer, has a nice wide cutting area. It makes light work of even the most overgrown grass.
You can adjust height as well as secondary handle so it makes it very comfortable to use.

I bought it for an overgrown garden and it was more than powerful enough for the job, its also nice and light & not complicated to use.
Don’t see how people are experiencing difficulties with this machine. It’s not tricky to use, or reline and does a really good job of getting rid of heavy foliage. Have used it dozens of times and no problems. I’m not a technical guy either, just have a really brief scan of the manual which is available online. Not quite 5 stars because it’s not got all the finesse of other trimmers, but if you want something to get rid of weeds, brambles and long grass quickly this is great.
Does a great job. Line seems to last well before needing to extend it. This is not that easy!
Ordered it Thursday was a free delivery it arrived on Saturday, I was very happy thanks Amazon.
Straight out the box, all you need to do to assemble is to put on the cutting guard over the spool. Tighten it with a Allen key, which is also provided. It has a second handle, which you can adjust to the right size, making it easier to carry when in use. Also has a telescopic handle which is easy to get to the right size. It’s light and powerful. A bonus having a automatic spool is that there is no messing around with tangled spool lines; once the spool is finished you just put a new one in. Only used it a few times. It does get close to the edges. It has nice and durable plastic and looks like it should last. Only time will tell. So far so good.

Heavyweight product for a heavyweight job. Works well and great produc
Bought this on Black Friday so super happy with the price i paid.
I used to have a small flymo strimmer which was great for borders but not up to hacking down the 125 sq meter jungle that had grown in the house i just moved into.
Ordered this ready for next spring/summer and I’ve used it for the past 6 months. At first was a bit difficult to get to grips with. the strap makes it a lot easier to carry and makes for lighter work.
After about the 3rd/4th time of using its now a lot easier to use. plus everythung is manageable menaing i’ve reduced the cutting time down to around 25 minutes to cut 150 square meter area (including incline) I’ve had to change the strimming wire and I’ve got the stronger option available, (highly recommend) as i’m not having to keep pulling out more cord. The red power cable is easy to see helping to avoid and trips or accidents. Would prefer the cable to be a little longer
Great power and ideal for large overgrown areas

Grass Trimme
ordered for my daughter who was very pleased with her purchase.

Delivery was excellent and the item has worked as expected
very happy
I nearly bought a petrol strimmer but I have bought Bosch before so no fuel to mix no starting probs just straight out and job done its a bit of an animal !.
No complaints. Robust and powerful. Wish the cord was a bit longer but an extension lead soon takes care of that.
This is a very well made strimmer easy to assemble, can be very easily separated into two pieces for convenient transporting and storage. It simply does the job it is designed for, perfect.
We recently moved into our new house, and the previous owner had neglected the garden somewhat, and there were some fairly hefty weeds and brambles that needed a good seeing to.
My old strimmer was just not up to the job, and my overgrown garden simple laughed at its fairly pathetic attempts to tame it.
I didn’t really want to go down the petrol route, as a number of my friends have … and spend a great deal of time swearing, but wanted something that would cope with the worst of my requirement, but did not feel like I am having a gym session every time I used it.
The ART 35 was very easy to assemble, looks to be robust enough to provide years of service, works well, is comfortable to use, and in my garden at least, I thought line wear was very acceptable. OK, having a cable is more of a pain than using petrol, but at least you don’t stink of fumes afterwards … even the noise level is acceptable, but I would always tend to use some ear defenders and a pair of specs anyway.
Good for the money, it looks like it should take other accessories, but clearly doesn’t … shame, because I’m sure the motor would handle anything you throw at it.
I bought this in desperation having tried and failed to get our petrol strimmer going and the weeds and brambles were out of control. I selected this model even though it was very new to the market and there was only one review at the time as it was claimed to be heavy duty. I was very pleased with the power of it which overcame the obvious inconvenience of an extension cable to haul around a large garden.
My one single disappointment was the “bump & feed” business end. The line itself has a maximum diameter of 1.6 cm – not very thick and wears down quickly but the main problem is getting it wound evenly which is fiddly, time consuming and not successful 9 times out of 10. This is not specific to Bosch or this model. I just think it’s a shame when there are more user friendly and simpler designs out there that Bosch has not offered an alternative accessory. There may be some universal heads that will fit the bill but I would need to do some research and meanwhile I need to keep on top of the gardening.
That aside I am very pleased I bought this strimmer and would recommend it for anyone considering buying one.
I am a brand loyal customer when it comes to Bosch products. I have a Bosch washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, drill etc etc, and I have the Bosch Rotak 43 Ergoflex Lawnmower, which is by far the best lawnmower I have ever owned, and I’ve owned a few, electric and petrol.
I have also owned a couple of Bosch grass trimmers. What the heck were they thinking? The Easytrim 23 was probably the worst excuse of a grass trimmer ever available! Fair dooze to Amazon though, they accepted it back and refunded my hard earned without question. So it was with trepidation that I ordered the new Bosch offering, the ART 35 Heavy Duty.
My previous Easytrim wouldn’t have even knocked the clocks off a dandelion. This ART 35 knocks them into outer space! It kicks butt! I’ve owned petrol trimmers from various, shall I say, “top” companies, like Ry…… and McC…… and they were pants. Two stroke engines, stale petrol, dodgy chokes, need I go on, but I did like the power of the two stroke – umpteen kick – trimmers! This new Bosch provides just that – POWER!!! Plenty of it, but not enough to take chunks out of your path and throw hyper-speed chippings into your face and legs. And as a result of this the strim wire lasts much, much better. With my petrol ones I used to have 2.4mm wire and I’d easy get through a spool doing front and back gardens. I have not had a strimmer for nearly a year that actually strimmed anything, so my garden edges had been left to rack and ruin with three foot high coarse grass and weeds with two foot deep borders, so I was a bit concerned that NO grass trimmer would be able to cope too well.
My fears however evaporated as soon as I pulled the triggers on my new toy! She purred like a contented lion and off we went to conquer the new world that had been created in my back garden. Humming merrily to herself, she easily consumed ALL that was put in front of her! Even Genghis Khan couldn’t have eradicated the huge colony of weeds as swiftly and with such ease! We were done in no time at all, with just a few bumps of the spool required as the 1.6mm wire was lasting an age compared to what my petrol ones used to get through. We even did between the cracks in my path rudely made up of slabs, where weeds had dared to show their mocking faces. Normally, this would be where a full face mask and riot gear would be required for safety when using my petrol ones, but not this time! She did a very clean job without trying to kill me in the process.
This grass trimmer is the mutts nuts, the yappers knackers, the dogs bo***x!!! I can’t recommend it highly enough. And no, I don’t work for Bosch, and no, I don’t get out much either…..
So now I have the very best lawnmower I have EVER owned, as well as the very, very best grass trimmer I have EVER owned, and lets face it, EVER likely to own! You shouldn’t be disappointed with this at all. Bosch, at last, have completely nailed how a grass trimmer should – and does – operate!
