Great sander. Rapid removal. The micro filter box is great too cause it keeps things clean and you can collect the dust and mix it with PVA and use it to fill any holes. It saves you buying any wood filler and it’s the same colour as your wood.

Really happy with this belt sander. Been using it to for months now to strip layers of old paint and flaking gel coat from a boat hull and then on over 140 2metre long hardwood posts to strip old varnish and wear. The belt never slipped, really easy to change/swap over when used. Powerful motor, requires force to hold it in place when holding overhead! Otherwise well balanced when placed on objects allowing gravity to do its job. Only downside I found is that the dust filter clogged up far too quickly.
I looked and various ones before settling on this sander, as a sander on its own its very good but as a package you are paying the brand name, other sanders i looked at came with all the bells and whistles which given the write up on this unit you get the impression its the same with this but no, all you get is the sander and one belt, the clamps are extra plus you need to buy an addition housing to fit to the sander before you can use the clamps hence only two stars for value, overall if you just want a quality sander then this is the one to buy but if you want a more versatile unit try one of the others
seriously good sande
This is a seriously well-made belt sander. feels indestructible. I do get through sanders at a high rate and have destroyed a Tacklife over a weekend (the belt wouldn’t stay centred despite constant fiddling with the tensioner) and my old trusty Black and decker (drive cog wormed its way into the housing) .
There is less plastic in this Bosch and joy of joys: it has an automatic belt tensioner/centerer.

It’s a good machine well I’m only a DIY person, but I am impressed by the power and how easy it is to use. Changing the belt is easy, I bought extra ones thankfully, at different grades and the one which comes with doesn’t last long. Turn wooden pallets into nice bird tables 🙂

You just can’t beat Bosch for the best quality / cost performance ratio. Solid, well built sander. Mainly bought for sanding down our worktops prior to retaining but has already proved it’s worth by stopping doors slightly dragging on floors. Good dustvsystem too. Top machine. Heavy. That means solidly built!!!!. Always go with Bosch, chainsaws, angle grinder, drill high DIY use, never let me down yet.

Dependable Bosch design and function.
I used this to finish a sawn-timber table top. The timbers were 8″ x 2″ timbers that were glued and dowelled together to form a substantial board. The belt sander came into its own for removing all the “sawn” appearance down to a smooth finish using a variety of grades of belt. Plenty of guts in the drive mechanism and it performed faultlessly. We now have the rustic table we wanted, and I have yet another decent power-tool in my collection.

Chewed through the belts quickly and had to buy plenty of replacement belts in advance of its arrival. This is a powerful beast so keep hold tight when firing up. Keep belts away from walls as will gouge circular marks. Skirting being re-painted now. Use 40 grade belts for stubborn areas – its just quicker and easier on your time.

This is a great sander. I bought it to replace my orbital sander. A job that used to take me 3-4 hours to do now gets done in an hour thanks to this awesome belt sander.

Take it easy!
Bought for 50 ish on an Amazon special day. Great bit of kit & should be part of your sanding arsenal, just take it easy as it’s far too easy to take off more than you intended to. Admittedly, I need more practice. You can flip it over as well & clamp it in a workbench – I used it to grind some metal off of my chop saw fence which wasn’t straight.

Used this to strip down an old dressing table and drawers. Easy to use although you need to keep a tight hold of it. Recommend wearing ear defenders gloves and safety glasses

I’ve used this belt sander for a number of projects. It’s useful for taking off a mm or two off edges (I adjusted a work surface the other day using the sander). The main reason I bought this was for sanding my tired floorboards. It made fairly light work of a large hallway and I had to go deep as the floor wasn’t in great shape. I’d recommend you do the majority of the work with this belt sander (80 grit) and finish with an orbital sander (120 grit). I used osmo laquer to finish and couldn’t be happier with the result. The dust catcher does a good job and needs emptying frequently. Make sure you keep the sander level as it is easy to put gouges in your floorboards, it’s quite aggressive. I’d recommend sanding diagonally across the grain then along the grain once you’ve done most of the work.

A most impressive belt sanding machine
This does the job well and has a very good filter mechanism for the dust!
I purchased my PBS 75 A after being unhappy with my earlier purchase of the more expensive PBS 75 AE. The 75 A does not feature variable speed or automatic sanding belt adjustment (which kept moving the belt over and causing it to shred against the side of the sander).
On this sander the belt stayed where it is meant to be and gave a faultless performance in removing old varnish from my bathroom floor and getting it ready for a new protective coating.
Due to its size it can not of course get into small or under low spaces but these were dealt with with a mouse sander.
Dust collection is excellent but the small dust box doe mean it frequently needs emptying.
With the money saved after getting a refund for the 75 AE I will be purchasing the Bosch 2608000537 holder to increase what I can do with this terrific piece of kit.
After burning out an old Silverline sander I finally stumped up for something a little more mid market. This item is more powerful and cleaner to use than the other one. To change a belt is simplicity itself and it seems to have plenty of torque when pressing fairly robustly onto the material being sanded.
It is a large item with the bag etc attached but not too heavy and certainly manageable for extended periods of use without and issue.

Wow, what a beast! I needed to sand off some resin from a table top and my usually wonderful orbital sander wouldn’t touch it. This did it easily in a very short time! Just make sure you clamp the work piece down, and hang on tight, because this sander is a monster! Fab!

Nice quality
Normally I shy away from Bosch as I felt their quality has dropped slightly. I bought this sander to replace the same model sander which had gotten very old and abused, which finally gave up because I was sanding steel sheets. Don’t sand steel and expect your sander to continue working as the fine metal dust will ruin the motor. Anyway Bosch have made some changes to the model like the better fitting filter. It is still nice and heavy and I was very please with the quality. Now over a year later it’s still going strong and I have not sanded any steel either. If it lasts as long as or longer than my original I’ll be very please. Would I buy another if this is still made in 10 years time, yes.
Light easy and great quality
I upcycle furniture. I’m new to it. Bought a Sanding Belt recommended mid price range. Five weeks on I’ve had to replace it. So bought this one. Its much lighter, much more maneouvrable and feels like I’m controlling it, not holding it back! The dust extraction is amazing. Having lived in 2 cm of dust each time I sand, I couldn’t believe how effective this was. The quality of sanding is amazing and it actually helped me to realise that I’m using poor quality sandpaper! Couldn’t believe how long the paper lasted, still using it!. On 40 grit, 2 sweeps and its good. Straight in at 120 grit (I’ve had to use 80 in between) and its actually good enough to wax on this! 240 used if painting its great. Its quieter than my old one too! Whats more this is only 700 ish whereas my last one was over 1000 w. It was well worth the money

Solid but noisy.
Good solid construction. A little on the noisy side but I suppose Sanders do tend to be. I like it has holes that allow it to be configured as a bench sander. For home use, this is a decent bit of kit.

Good machine and effective but the dust box is small and keeps falling off. For any large jobs it needs a connector to the vacuum cleaner or outside with a mask.
This is a beast but very well made for Bosch’s DIY products and so far has performed as expected although even with the dust extractor things still get a bit messy. One good thing is that you can get very close to the edges when resurfacing a floor.

It’s fine, solidly built, but quite heavy and long. Don’t buy the bench mounting kit, it’s useless. There are several threaded holes on the sander you can use with a diy bracket.

Does the biz. The included belt didn’t last very long, so I suggest you buy some belts with it – I used the Silverline 391857 pack, and they have lasted MUCH longer.

I should have bought something like this a long time ago, it would have saved me hours and hours. better late than never. I’m very happy with this buy.
I can’t understand anyone who has given this less than four/five stars – I’ve been redoing floors in my house and hiring barrel sanders etc. This piece of Bosch kit is an absolute delight – powerful and really easy to switch out sheets.
Only thing I would say – sand collector is pretty crap so prepare to be sandy and it would be useful if the handle and the front could be adjusted (moved back say so it was on top rather than in front) for when you’re doing corners etc.

I have to say, the first words out of my mouth when opening this was “That’s bad ass”
It feels a bit like a mosnter, and I hope it lasts as long as the legends of monsters, I have a lot to do over the next few months with it so I will update if my opinion changes.
The instructions are kinda crap in some ways and there was no information on which direction the screw is meant to turn for adjustments, so I tore up about 5mm of the first belt on on side before figuring that out.
So far all I have done is sand the living crap out of an 8″x3″ beam that I will be using to suspend gym rings and boxing bag from. It took about an hour or maybe a touch more each side but the wood was very very rough to begin with. I probably took 3mm all four edges from it in that time.
It tears up corners much more quickly than you might expect so be careful there.
I have sharpened up one superbly blunt chisel and one quite blunt cheap but thick 6″ kitchen knife also, that was with the installed 80grit belt. Both in less than ten minutes.
If you are looking for a way to sharpen steel, this will do the job but I can’t recommend it unless you have some experience otherwise you might destroy your blades. No, make that a lot of experience. I do. I picked this model becuase it can be flat mounted and from that position I will be doing lots of steel work with it in the future to save my expensive diamond stones from the initial edge working to remove chips and such.
The one major fault with this model is the suction bag system. It actually sucks.
It might be fine if you are only using it to touch up clean wood taking it up the grits but for serious leveling work, it fills up in no time at all because it is far too small. I would recommend a well ventilated room to work in regardless, I got dust absolutely everywhere from the get go.
I would consider this from my initial impressions to be an adequate model to be a part of a small woodworking company launch as long as you have a dust bag with hose attached.

Happy with this. The belts are quick and easy to change; I used about 1 per 1.5 sq m (life’s too short to get that last 10% out of a belt). The front handle can be unscrewed for getting nearer edges, although this is presumably not recommended. What is certainly not recommended is checking sandpaper roughness with one hand whilst accidentally switching the thing on with the other. I did look down to see if my finger was still there, which it was.
Return to base....beware of hot metal!
Now on my second one in less than a month. First one was used to sand floor and used gently…then I noticed a burning smell and nasty vibration. After stopping machine I noticed that the plastic base on right hand side (adjustment side) was melting !!!!! The base felt extremely hot. After allowing it to cool down I tried again, but still with bad vibration and a rattle from near the front roller. So after returning it to Amazon I received a replacement machine. After using the new one I have noticed that yet again the plastic shows very slight signs of melting…but for now I’ll see how it goes and stop machine after every 10 minutes…If it gets worse then regrettably I might have to return it!! My advice is for any user to closely inspect the base unit paying close attention to the green plastic next to the metal base…any damage here will only get worse!! Other than that it is a great machine and does a great job sanding wood. Thank you Amazon for your excellent service.
Fault with tension/ belts fall off
I like this sander and have purchase several over the years. My newest one was purchased 18 months ago and now the belts simply fall off due to the tension (adjustment to change the belt) becoming loose. I really don’t want to but another but does anyone know how to repair the tension?

Bosch belt sande
Did what it said on the box. Easy to use and stripped the paint off the outside doors with little effort. The dust trap worked well until it clogged, it needs to be emptied often as it is efficient at collecting the dust and hence fills quickly. A good product, wished I’d bought one sooner.

An excellent machine. It really works well. I had been using another well known make for years but it wasn’t a patch on this Bosch sander.

A great sander, easy to use, dust bag works and is easy clean with its “Tupperware” style lid.
Great hand grips mean full control, I put mine up side down in my vice clamp and it works like a charm for sanding smaller pieces.

Dust filter worked perfectly on first use but dust did not get extracted to the external filter unit on second use? I have still to investigate how to clear the internal extract passage.
his is a brilliant machine, will cope with light to medium work. one has to be careful, sanding a 1/2inch plank, soon becomes a 1/4inch plank
