This iron replaced a steam generator that had broken after many years of heavy use, and my wife was convinced she wouldn’t be able to find another one that was as good. However, after just a single session with this Bosch ProHygienic steam generator iron she was hooked. She is impressed with how quickly it heats up to the correct temperature and how light it is to handle. The only minor gripe she has is that she often accidentally presses the steam boost trigger situated underneath the handle, but feels it’s only until she gets used to using the iron. All in all a very good buy. It might seem a little expensive at first, but you get what you pay for – and this is a top-quality product from a well-renowned manufacturer. Would highly recommend this iron.

This is a great iron. It is expensive but does a great job. It is much lighter than my other one, less noisy and does a better job. It should have supplied a water jug so you can put water into the container to save you holding the whole iron under the tap. I have a water jug from previous irons so you will need one of these. It also has a feature that decides what you are ironing so no need to change heat settings – very good. All in all a good purchase. I would only associate Bosh with larger white/brown good products but recommend it.

I ordered this Bosch model to replace a Philips steam generator that had given reasonable use for several years. The Bosch was chosen because of the ability to select different heat settings as well as an ‘automatic’ setting. Operation is easy and there is a good size water tank and steam pressure is impressive.
I would have preferred a removable tank for ease of re-filling but it isn’t a major inconvience.

Replaced previous stream generator iron which weighed a ton! This one is much easier to carry and store.

I have had Bosch steam generators before. I do about 7-10hrs ironing a week and my last one lasted 5 years. That’s good for me.
    What I like:
    1. I can change the temperature myself! No amount of sales pitch can assure me that automatic temp control will work on a garment; irons can’t see what fabric they are about to land on, so to my mind, they aren’t hot enough as you put them down. I iron a lot of linen and cotton shirts. I want that temperature.
    2. I love the temp setting dial on the base unit.
I love that it has an ‘intelligent’ setting if you want it, but that’s a choice, not a given.
    3. I like that the water tank is visible without having to judge from some tube filled with condensation
    4. I like that it holds a lot of water.
    5. I like that it has a groovy lighting on the ‘handset’ to show its up to temp
    6. I like how it beeps when ready and beeps when in standby/ after 8 mins. It’s really easy and quick to come back up to temp or reach a lower temp.
    7. I like that it’s quite heavy- just a personal belief that it flattens stuff better.
    8. It doesn’t have a hissy fit when first used. ie, it doesn’t shoot out water all over the first item you iron. It doesn’t drip and leak.

This review is done 2 weeks in. My first tryout, it kept turning itself off. Literally, between every garment- 30 seconds of folding something and it had turned off. Not sure why. I almost sent it back. But since then, it’s worked a dream. I may have pressed that water fill button or fidgeted with something first time round, or maybe it just needed to get to know me because it works brilliantly now.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI had a similar Bosch iron for many years and this is a really nice update. Not too complicated to use and gives a lovely finish. I love the function that enables you to iron any fabric on just one setting. I haven’t yet used the cleaning function but like the idea that I shall get a warning when cleaning is needed. A really good purchase.

Fantastic, the best ever iron/steam generator. I’ve had so many, but this is the best. It’s a pleasure doing the ironing.

The locking clip to fix iron safely broke within 2 days of use, the spring kept jumping out and having reinserted it have
to be very careful to make sure it has clipped. Very disappointing for an iron costing this amount of money.!
The actual iron itself is very good and ironing is less of a ch

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI never thought I’d say an iron was cool, but this is a cool iron. Love the space-age flashing lights when it’s warming up. Ironing is now my 2nd favourite hobby in my otherwise fun-filled life… 😉
