Bought these for my son and he is very happy with them – v good sound quality, don’t lose connection with the phone ever. Likes having the neck band for the extra security this gives

Excellent sound quality. Comfortable. Stay in your ears when running. I lost my bose headphones so I use these for watching films and listening to music at home. Hours of use and still comfortable. Sound isnt far off the 300 quid bose headphones I had. Obviously I wouldnt recommend it but I put these through the wash by accident and they still work perfectly. Some people have complained that the charging cover looks flimsy and might break off. Well mine hasnt after 6 months of constant use. Battery life decent as well

Ideal high spec earphones for running. Great sound. Sweatproof. Never slip out. Great wee clip to clip onto the back/neck of your running top as an extra precaution but they genuinely never slip out.
Takes a wee while to get used to inserting them but becomes 2nd nature in no time.

Another beautiful & functional product from Bose. Unfortunately the charging case has been discontinued and had to be purchased separately from aftermarket supplier. Wish that it had USB C port as it has micro USB port.

These are high quality sounding headphones and fit very securely when running.
They are not buds so are not completely noise cancelling. I have only worn them on the treadmill so far so not tried outside when there may be wind noise. Can’t complain so far.

Very good sound quality. They fit very easy in my ears and there is no danger of coming off when you are working out. I have been able to have them in my ears for about 2h without any discomfort.

    Light great sound robust
Good value for the Wisley you get

I’ve had quite a few pairs ear buds and Bluetooth earphones. These are probably the best yet paring them to the phone takes seconds and they stay paired. The fit is fantastic I don’t feel they are there I use the them mainly for cycling and can hold a conversation as I go. A little expensive but well worth the money.

I am a Bose fan and have Bose audio kit all around my home, car and portable needs. I therefore have high expectations of all things Bose. These headphones are fine really, the fit is great and the build quality is very good (as always) but the sound is no better than I get from a set of headphones I have for half the price. They just don’t seem to fill my head with sound. They seem to lack the richness, the depth of sound, the range and the immersion experience I have come to expect from Bose – so, a little disappointing really

All good , but it feels a bit heavy although I have used it for quite awhile and the connections range is poor! Connection range is poorer than an earphone I bought for 20 pounds

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHad them a few months now. The trademark Bose sound is in abundance, mid-bass bloom, easy presentation but easily confused by complex pieces. Think American V8: not capable in the twisty bits, but does simple stuff with contemptuous ease.

I worried they might fall out easily, but they don’t. They don’t have magnetic backs so they don’t stick together which is a bummer, and the silly little clothing-clip is fiddly and easily lost. The microphone and volume switch is only on the right hand side so there is a slight tendency for the extra weight to cause them to fall that way.

I’ve not got them really wet, but the micro USB (not USB C) port is sealed by a substantial captive rubber plug, and they look like they’d take a soaking.

They’re Bluetooth 5 and can connect to two Bluetooth sound sources simultaneously. This is really handy for work when I use them for Zoom & Teams on the PC and to answer the phone and play music from my mobile.

Given their chunky size, I’m disappointed with their runtime. I’ve had them run out from fully charged on a normal working day of music and phone & video calls. Given that they’re wired, I would have put an extra battery on the left hand side to balance the weight of the mic assembly on the right and to extend runtime.

Bose rightly have a good reputation. These earphones are not going to change that. Well made, a good fit and good sound. I wear them for up to an hour with no discomfort and they stay in place well during my runs. Definitely worth paying a bit more for.

I needed pods to exercise in the morning without waking the family. These are excellent as they don’t fall out of your ears when jumping up and down. Easy volume control and gives you lots of warning when battery is low. Even has it’s own case!

Bought theses headphones for running in the street/parks etc, they fit comfortably and are easy to charge, I like the adjustment bar on the right hand side, which you can pause the music and turn it up or down, take or end calls, I want to be able to hear traffic which you can at sensible noise levels, the headset announces what battery percentage you’ve got when you switch them on, and they make a shutdown signal when you turn them off. I’m impressed so far, they also seem sturdy and well made.they were a good price on Amazon especially if you were okay with black colour. I would recommend them xx

I have tried many different much cheaper in ear headphones for my cycling, But these are massively superior to any others i have tried. Usual BOSE quality sound, crisp mid and high range and deep bass. The in ear system is so comfortable there have been a few occasions where i have forgot they were in my ears. Spend the extra money and buy these, it’s worth i

Good sound quality. Very secure fit for running and gym use. Comfortable. Does not cut you off from your surroundings so if you are looking for any external noise cancellation look elsewhere. Bluetooth connection is OK but can blip out on occasion even when the source is very close. Overall, very good value for money for use in the gym etc.

  19. Gavin Lucas says:

The Bose earphones have been a great companion on my bi-weekly underground commute. It doesn’t completely cancel all ambient noise, but that is probably for the best, considering that you will want a slight sense of your surroundings in such an environment, doing gym routines, or out running on the roads or trails.

The sound quality is crisp and the mids, lows and bass are all balanced. If you enjoy the heavy deep rumble of extra bass, this might not be the best option. But if you like your sound to be balanced, these might just be right.

I bought these because I got fed up of my wired set of headphones falling out during a run or walk. It can take a few mins to get them to sit in the ear ( might just be my ears though) but once settled they work very well. Battery life is about 6 hours.

  21. Chris Beardsley says:

     United Kingdom

I got these for running and I’m very happy with them. They stay in completely, which is a first for me. And the bass stays present without needing to keep pressing them into the ears which I found with other earphones.

Also super convenient to just pick up and take when I don’t want to bring my proper cans.

These are replacing my old in-ear bose earphones. The noise isolation on those ones was undoubtedly better, and the sound quality probably a little better too, but not too much.

  22. RondaSasaki says:

You get what you pay for. Bose quality doesn’t disappoint. Great bass sound quality. Stays in ear in runs and charge lasts for ages. These are not noise cancelling – that’s why they’re good for running. Wouldn’t be safe to use NC on a run.

Good sound quality, however after a few goes on the treadmill my husband complained that they kept falling our so if you do an hour or more on the treadmill these are not for you.

Great piece of kit, linked together like mittens as a kid so you don’t lose them. Sound quality is very good.
The only downside is the pointless clip to attach the set to your cloths, it sticks in your neck and restricts movements.
I also can’t take phone calls through them, but I’ve not read the instructions yet that’s not a Bose fault unless..

  25. Anonymous says:

Waited a while to order, partly due to stock issues. Not been disappointed.

I am bit of a headphone geek, with countless pairs. Have tried endless pairs of ‘neckband’ headphones, but, as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.

I have air pods; but although apple say these are for all Bluetooth enabled phones, they lack functionality for android devices; plus air pods are a premium price. I tried Samsung Buds live; but was very disappointed and returned them.

Bose Soundsport are cracking; audible battery life when you turn them on and last a generous amount of time so far. They pair without hassle and they have multipoint capability; so can connect, with ease, to two devices at once. Operation is easy with multi-function button, call quality is great and sound quality is all you expect from Bose. They also have a little clip which can be used to secure the set to your collar. If I had one minor niggle is that this clip could have as smaller clasp, but longer clip i.e. the part you use to open the clip smaller, but the clip longer, this would make it more discreet. But as I say a minor issue.

Overall 5 stars as they’re excellent. Well worth the money.

I’ve been a bose fan for years, and wasn’t disappointed with these. I’d thought about cordless buds but decided against them as the loss of one renders them useless. Don’t really understand ‘noise cancelling ‘ as I could still faintly hear what I wanted to outside my little world and as for ‘working out’ I don’t, gave them both five stars anyway as they would probably be up to the job. For under a ton you’ve got to try them

I had already the Bose noise cancelling wired
headphones for a few years and have always
been very happy with them throughout this time. With wireless technology being so widespread it was time for me to upgrade…. And its made a significant difference to my life!

Im so pleased with every aspect this decision. My new headphones perfect! The only thing negative I could say which would be ever so slight is the noise cancelling isn’t as good as the Bose wired headphones I had previously… But this is actually preferable as I would like to be aware of my surroundings while using my headphones. My previous headphones completely cancelled external noise…

  30. JaunitaWheat says:

Pretty good sound and even when running, this is maintained because they do not move from their position in your ears. Fairly comfy and the only potential downside is that they are very large.

  31. IolaOconner says:

     United Kingdom

Excellent sound quality, certainly the best I’ve ever had from in ear headphones. I did find them slightly on the large side and they seem to protrude a fair way from the ear. By and large they stayed in place when moving around, so good on that point, also they operate a fair way away from my iPhone.

  32. Ed Oswald says:

Really good headphones, don’t fall out , perfect for running and good sound quality , only downside is they can be quite uncomfortable if in for a long period of time e.g over an hour but that’s my only complaint . P

Great sound on these. Really good for commuting, no tangling cables.
The headphones come with a little pouch and a clothing clip. Unfortunately the clothing clip keeps coming off, but apart from that, all good.

  34. ArdisAliadg says:

     United Kingdom

Without a doubt the best earphones I’ve owned for sound.

    However…

The buds are BIG pretty much impossible to wear a hat or hood with them which has been a drawback in the cold weather when out walking the dog!

The lack of magnetism of the buds is also a pain so when wearing they just hang down.. the collar clip provided has long vanished!

The sound though is excellent. Crisp treble & deep bass perfect for all genres and audiobooks.

Turned off the voice assistant as that can be annoying half way through a track!

It’s those little niggles that prevent 5 stars.

I’ve got a few Bose products and a lot of the reviews follow the same format, the use for sport is very good. They stay in place once you have the right tips on, they’re great for running, cycling (single ear only), and I’ve used them for a lot of calls this year as well. The bluetooth connection is solid and has a good range, however I found them a little patchy with some older Bluetooth devices, for example they might skip when they don’t have a good line of sight to the device.

As far as the sound goes, they are very average. Bose have a sound, which is a long long way from flat, and it can be a little fatiguing sometimes, but it’s not as bad as older Beats. Much like the QC25s, which are my daily office headphones, I’d say they are 3.5* on sound (for the price) and 4.5* on the other features. For sound I generally prefer Shure or Sennheiser, but it’s always subjective based on the source and your own ears.

  36. Anonymous says:

Great sound quality. I listen to Drum n bass and metal music so the sound quality is spot on. Bass is deep and doesn’t distort.
I use them for MTB riding and so the wire and clip keep them secure, this is why I didn’t want a truly wirless set of earphones.
They fit perfect in my ears and I realy struggle to find ear buds thatbstay in my ears these twist and lock and stay in my ears.
I didn’t want to spend this much on phones but its an old saying you really do get what you pay for, and I’m glad I did

  37. Anonymous says:

Sound quality is really good. The earbuds are bit heavy so they cause pain on the ear. No isolation to noises.

  38. The Sunday Girl says:

     United Kingdom

Great sound quality, these are by far the best inear headphones I’ve ever tried.

However would be more practical if there were magnets on the back of the earphones in order to couple them around your neck when not in use.

  39. Cassandra Szklarski says:

     United Kingdom

Good quality headphones, but should be expected given the price you’re paying. The main reason I bought these were because of the ear fittings – they fit well and if you’re out and about will not fall out. The sound quality is ok but not great given the price and brand, tbh I think are expected slightly better.

The other slight issue is sometimes the bluetooth pairing can be a bit temperamental, not all the times, but enough to cause some annoyance. Overall would still recommend, but not a 5/5 product.

  40. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

I find the use of these great nudge to getting me out the door for my daily walks. Although they do not cut out the noise completely it is still so much better than the earbuds that came with my phone.

There are two issues, my right ear bud fits perfectly the left one is not as comfortable.

Second issue the charging of the buds feels delicate because of the flap that has to moved to insert charger.

  41. Random Lengths News says:

     United Kingdom

I was a bit unsure with these, as they stick out a bit and was worried that they would fall out.
It’s actually very well designed and comfortable.

    Pro:
    – Very comfortable
    – Great sound quality
    – Pairs with multiple devices at the same time via Bluetooth

    Cons:
    – Bose Connect app is somewhat redundant
    – Battery drains with multiple devices

I’ve had other wireless headphones (rated IPX 5 and with noise cancelling).

Noise cancelling for running is overrated and not really needed.
I found on headphones that supported noise cancelling, I’d have to disable this feature when the battery was running low (otherwise would generate a hiss). I tend to use these exclusively for running (paired with Smart watch) so I wouldn’t use these to make calls (so no need for a mic).

Both the fit and the quality of the sound actually negates the need for noise cancelling (wind is not noticeable)

The placement of the charging port (in the right ear bud) means that it’s less likely to get moist/suffer from water damage (other headphones have failed).

WARNING: Limit the number of bluetooth devices to save your battery

Initially I listed it as a bonus feature – that it allows you to connect to multiple bluetooth devices concurrently.
It’s paired with my Watch, Phone and Laptop – this is good as you don’t have to faff around if you intend to use one and it connects to another.

However, it appears to be polling and listening for all of your paired devices whilst it’s in use – this appears to drain the battery. From 100% charged, it ran down in less than 1 hr. I’m going to unpair these from my phone and laptop to see if it improves the battery life.

    WARNING: Update firmware before use

I initially used these straight out of the box and paired them with my smart watch – they it failed to charge after 1 run. Amazon have been great and replaced them immediately, with the new set, I updated the firmware and paired with my phone straight away. No issues so far.

Writing this review as i (finally) had to buy a replacement pair of these, after owning them for about 3 years already – lost the old ones 🙁

Absolute superb headphones, i used them all day everyday for 3 years and never ever had any issue. They connect quickly to all your devices, superb sound quality and comfortable for long distance-running. Charge fast and come with a range of size buds.

    Highly recommended.

I have had these since 2016 and they have only just failed. They failed during a gym session, I’m guessing my sweat finally made its way in!
I have made good use of them, during this time, for running, rowing, weight training and travelling on planes. They always stay in my ears despite excessive sweating and they are loud enough to block out any noise. Nice quick charge time and usually last 3 or 4 gym sessions.
Good customer service from Bose too .

  44. Anita George says:

I have now been using these for well over a month while running. I have large ears so was doubtful they would sit in my ears well when running. They really do, the sound quality as you’d expect from Bose is first class, I have never had an issue with connection to my phone. The volume and track skip works well and is easy to use while running. There are three main benifits to this still of wireless headphones instead of singular ear pods
    1. Much cheaper
    2. Only one connection not two from individual ears
    3. Should they come loose they have a handy collar clip on the cable that joins them meaning they won’t end up hitting the deck

  45. Cris McConkey says:

     United Kingdom 🇬🇧

First of all, I would like to say how impressed I am by the sound of these headphones. The overall clarity is incredible, and the bass is meaty, without being too ‘boomy’.
I purchased these for the express purpose to using whilst running, and after trying the various different sizes (small, medium, large) of in-ear adaptors I settled for the medium-sized ones which seemed to be the most comfortable fit. Unfortunately, after running a short distance the ear pieces started to work their way out of my ears. I’m not sure if this was partly down to the shape and weight of the outer lugs (the bit with the Bose logo on) but I was able to carry on my run, but had to keep on making adjustments to reposition the earpieces which would have come out completely and hit the deck had the connecting cable not been attached to the back of my t-shirt with the handy crocodile clip.
One solution is to wear a headband (not too tight) which hold the earphones in place, but this can get a little uncomfortable after a while.

  46. JeffereyWise says:

     United Kingdom

Excellent fit straight from the box, so didn’t need to fit different sized ear buds. Battery life is good at about 5 -6 hours on a charge. Used for cycling and general walks, didn’t want full noise cancelling ear phones as you need to be able to hear traffic etc when cycling/ walking on footpaths. Sound quality is excellent, plenty of Bass and little noise leakage to outside, so you won’t irritate anybody nearby with your music. Can get a little sweaty after a long ride but no worse than any other earbuds I have used. When answering the phone , using the earbuds , people cannot tell you are using the earbuds to talk and listen , brilliant!

I’ve spent the last few years buying in-ear headphones and regretting it, each time going back to over-the-head style headphones. I have been using Bose QC35 and older wired Beats headphones attached to a bluetooth adapter mainly… I appreciate paying a bit more for decent quality products. Apple in-ear headphones just fall out constantly, Beats in-ear ones don’t stay in closely so the sound is tinny. It dawned on me that using Amazon I could try some alternatives again and return them if they were naff. I read and watched reviews and these Bose SoundSport Wireless ones seemed to do pretty well, though as usual there were some mixed biasses towards and against the product. Some saying they are flimsy, some saying they are uncomfortable, some saying they are too big. Personally I’m WELL IMPRESSED with these. They are the first in-ear devices that stay in my ears without any messing around! There’s a rubber flap that gently secures them as it fits into the curves of the ear itself. I have been wearing them for cycling and walking (decent distances) and they remain secure and not needing to be constantly “fiddled with” and pushed back in like others I’ve tried. There is ample noise cancelling but not so much that you can’t hear the surroundings. The sound quality is remarkable. It sounds daft to say it, but I find them so comfortable that sometimes I forget I’m wearing them and get a shock when I hear music so close to my ears! I feel safe cycling in them, though on windy days there can be the sound of a little wind whistling around my ears. There’s no problem with the charging mechanism – the flap opens easily. The device works with the same Bose mobile app as my QC35 headphones – so can be customised via this. I’m writing this review because I’m chuffed to have found some “in ear” headphones that work well for me, and which are (in my opinion) really very good!

Can’t say they dont out perform the wire soundsports, I have had sound sports for years, these are better then the wired ones in quality and noise cancellation (tho bare in mind theres not much noise cancellation!). Great product and for the price (i paid 114) pretty much a bargain in comparison to other wireless in ears. The battery is pretty good, if you listen at about 70% loudness can easily push 10 hours out of them. I never get less than 6 hours, normally more! It is annoying to not finish the day and have to recharge but they do charge pretty damn fast!! only complain i have is they do stick out a lot and if I wear a high neck coat and turn my head the get knocked off!

PROS: very good sound quality, easy and quick to pair (I’ve got iPhone Pro Max 11), relatively stable in the ear-canal, works well during phone calls, to pick up call and hang up, even with internet calling (Messenger). Very nice integrate voice informing you of who’s calling (though cannot read out when someone is calling from Messenger); works well with MacBook Pro too; dedicated app for iPhone simple to use.

CONS:battery life can be relatively short though I can easily make through 24hrs with my use; long time to charge (around 2hrs); bulky when you put them on under a tight cap (in winter for instance) thus pushing them annoyingly inside the ear canal; when they hang on your shoulder you feel they are dragging a lot around as they are a bit heavish (you can see it from the shape and the dimensions).

Overall: I’m quite happy with these ones and I feel comfortable to give 4 stars. I would definitely recommend them so far and I’d buy them again.

One of the best bluetooth earphone in the market. I have bought this thrice now as i lost the previous one. This is one of the 2 earphones in the market with oval ear tip, which is very important for my ears, the round tips hurt when i wear for long. And the bonus is awesome music. I’m a huge fan of these ear phones.

Awesome product. Despite looking like it could be cumbersome was actually really light, fits to the ear perfectly, doesn’t cause any irritation or noise when you knock the lead while they are in. Great!… BUT 18mths in and the button to use them has torn on the side and now the unit has completely stopped working. …. I am still tempted to get another pair though. Please Bose, sort the dodgy button out on future iterations!

I love these earbuds, these are a second pair as I discovered that after 2 years the battery starts to decline in it’s ability to retain a charge. My 2 year old set only charge to 70% now.

Splashed out on these after some terrible cheap ones, and we’ll worth it.

Negative points: a little chunky perhaps, and not very loud when connected to my phone, though that may be due to volume limitations elsewhere. Would love a charging case to be included (available separately).

Good points: the range of sound is great, good response from bass and treble, and very, very clear. The buds are super comfortable, and you get 3 sizes to choose from shipped in the box. Battery life seems good, though a year or two of testing will tell. They stay put when I’m running and aren’t moved by sweaty skin.

    Overall, great stuff.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersNext day delivery as promised and packaging looks smart giving you confidence that the product is high quality and expensive. At 109 this is the most i have paid for a wireless headset but I am pleased with the quality and value. The ear buds are on the large side so people will notice you wearing them but they are comfortable and stay in your ears securely with the assistance of the small fins that fit snugly in your ears. They fully charged from the pack in just under one hour and have lasted for a few days without recharge during which i have had around 7 hours of actual use. a voice informs you of how much battery you have left. Currently using with my iPhone 8 plus via Bluetooth with no connection issues. Sound quality is excellent and i have been enjoying loud rock music with the clarity that Bose are renound for. I have also watched a football match on my phone and the commentary and crowd atmosphere was very clear. Used for walking and sitting in noisy coffee shops and restaurants, they largely block out noise however this is not total noise cancellation and when in a popular fast food chain restaurant i could hear some noise and voices. They have a handy pocket size case that i use when they are not in use, this has a clip that can fit to a sports bag, key ring or belt buckle etc. My one gripe is that the earphones are not magnetic so you cannot attach them together around your neck like a necklace when not in use, instead there is a rather impractical clip attached to the wire linking the headphones to one another with the idea of fastening it to your collar to prevent loss. Overall i am very happy with the product and would recommend them.

Had these for two years and absolutely loved them. Amazing quality sound. Had to replace the small clip that attached them to the back of your collar but that wasn’t a major thing.

This week the glue on the right ear has perished leaving the rubber floppy around the earphone. The power button now turns the unit on but won’t turn it off.

Also, the rubber on the volume control has done the same thing. The volume control now doesn’t work. I’m unable to skip tracks, use Siri etc from the headphones.

Some would argue two years is reasonable life. I expected more though from Bose. My wife’s stock apple headphones are still working after two years so why would Bose not? I’m really disappointed.

Just ordered a per of Jabra Elite 65T as these come with a two year warranty.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBeen using these for about 5 months on planes, gym and other leisurely activities and have to say couldn’t be happier with them.
The sound quality is very good as expected with any Bose product. They are comfortable on the ears when at the gym or not.
The battery life could be better but that’s a common problem with all devices these days. I still get about 4 hours or so on one full charge.
The little carry case for the earphones is very handy and compact for storage.

    Quality Product.

I wouldn’t say they cancel noise more than my other headphones which are no where near as expensive as these. I can still hear plenty when I’ve got them in.

They fit comfortably though and most importantly don’t fall out when I’m running, which is what I was after.

I wasn’t expecting them to stick so far out my ears, so I look slightly odd from the front. Kind of like I’ve got ogre ears but we can all look odd running and working out so depends if that matters to you

A little background on myself, I own a Samsung and I use these daily. Working nights I listen to podcasts while the stores shut and also on the commute to and from. I take a battery pack to work so keep it in mind that I do charge them one time during the night. Before picking these up, I used to use cheap wired earphones. The ones that claimed to be official Apple/Samsung but I knew deep down that was bollocks as it was around 5. But it did the job. I found myself looking for wireless buds after the wire on my old ones kept on getting caught up even if I tucked the wires under my clothes. My friends had the wired version of these buds and recommended them to me as they knew I’m a slight audiophile despite my cheapskate ways. I was hesitant at first as I found gummy earbuds didn’t fit my ears properly and kept on falling out. However after having tried out my friends pair, I was impressed with both the audio and the fact that they didn’t fall out.

That was 2 years ago. I’ve brought these twice now. The fact I repurchased these should indicate I think they’re pretty good. but I’ll go on. They last roughly a year if you’re not throwing them away as soon as something falls off. I’d say the rubber around the earbud (And also the control panel) starts to become loose around the 9 month mark. For some, this would cause them to buy a replacement and that’s totally understandable. For me, I’m replacing them as the power button rubber seal has become loose to the fact it takes a couple presses before I actually hit the button. This isn’t a issue as a year is quite a long time. Especially coming from he cheap headphones I used to buy which only lasted 2 months-ish.

It’s come around to the time where I should replace the earbuds and I’ve decided not to repurchase these for a third time. Instead, I’ve decided to go for the bigger brother, the truly wireless SoundSports as the audio quality must be similar + I want to give something a new a try. But back to these, if you’re looking for headphones which can do the job with great audio quality, you would be doing yourself a favour by buying these.

(I was trying to make this review flow into each section freely but I couldn’t figure out where to slot this into the first paragraph. I forgot to add what I listen to usually as that’ll get you to know what genres I was satisfied with when listening with these earbuds. I mainly listen to Hip-Hop in which these earbuds do the job in providing a clear vocal performance but also the bass bangs. I also listen to R&B and Soul to which you can hear all the little details in the background.)

I’ve not used them for intensive exercise so can’t comment on their sweat proof-ness but as far as sound and comfort they are amazing.

I can wear them all day at work and during the commute to and from, with a recharge mid day, and barely notice I’m wearing them.

They do stick out a little bit that hasn’t bothered me.

And people assume you work in which ever shop they see you wearing them in so perhaps you could have a little fun with that.

    I would highly recommend.

I’ve got several other wireless headphones trying g to find a perfect pair for me (used for daily use and cycling).
They are very impressive. I was worried about the lack of sound isolation but has caused me no issues. I also worried they would not stay in – again no issue even after getting caught out by a heavy downpour on a cycle.
I also like they don’t use the volume button for skipping tracks which can be frustrating on some.

Overall very happy and don’t be put off by the lack of noise isolation and concerns of them staying pu

I was initailly going to buy the Bose SoundSport wireless but after reading the bad reviews i was hesitant on buying these headphones. I knew the quality of the Bose was superior as i had a pair of the Q35 ii but i wanted something portable but yet to the sound quality of the Q35 ii. I am so please with my purchase i have had these for about 5 months with daily use you get around 3-4 hours of music and the sound quality is amazing. Personally i don’t use the controls on the headphones so i cannot state the breakability of this feature, i can say the sound is amazing and they are so comfotable i would definately recommend these.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWhen reading reviews for wireless sports headphones you can get very confused. They all seem to have pros and cons. I originally bought seinnhauser ones for a similar price but sent them back as the sound quality was very poor, even when using their app, In true bose style these headphones have top notch sound, and the thin wire between earpieces is perfect. I would have given this product five stars BUT they are really ugly! The earpieces stick out a long way from your ears and look a bit daft. However as I am using them in the gym and for running I did not mind to much looking like a martian. Overall I would say these are excellent value but come on bose I am sure you can do better on design!!!!!

Great headphones that have awesome sound quality.
Two slight drawbacks. Firstly they aren’t noise cancelling at all. I don’t mind that as I don’t want to be completely shut off from the world whilst running around a busy city, but I can see why some would want a better experience in that respect. The battery also isn’t great – I’m getting around 5 hours in between charges which is less than stated. Only benefit is when you turn them on they give you a battery percentage straight away which is useful.

They’re a decent set of earphones. The wireless market is pretty poor at the moment and these are some of the better ones out there – not worth the money in my opinion (would pay closer to 70-80) but they’re still a good set of in-ears.
As for noise cancelling, they’re not designed to be noise cancelling so that subject is irrelevant.
The tip options don’t really fit my ears tremendously well but they do the job. They can begin to become uncomfortable if used for an extended period (1-2 hours+).
As for moisture wicking, they kind of do a good job but if you have moisture in your ears already (I.e after a shower) then you will find the buds slipping out often.
The sound quality is good enough, again – for the price I maybe expected a bit more but I suppose the Bluetooth aspect inflated the price more than I was expecting.
Overall if Shure pulled their finger out and updated their Bluetooth chip or AKG produced a set of Bluetooth in-ears then I would pick them over these but to be honest, paying over 100 for a set of in-ears and they’re hardly going to be bad are they? They’re a good set of buds but again, not worth the price.

I use these headphones when out walking and on the bus or train. I had some cheap wireless headphones before and I was reasonably happy with them, so when they stopped working after a couple of years heavy use I tried to get the same again but they were no longer available. All the currently available cheap ones seemed to get terrible reviews for poor quality so I decided to upgrade to a good name brand. As these headphones are about 5 times the price of the ones I had before I expected them to be better but they still exceeded my expectations by a long way. The sound quality is really good; the clarity is amazing; there is even a decent amount of bass. I find them comfortable and after a while I forget I’m wearing them. The battery lasts about 5 or 6 hours on a charge, which I find is enough for most days. They don’t cancel noise so it’s possible to talk to people without taking them off and you can safely wear them in situations where you need to remain aware of what’s going on around you. The downside is that background noise (traffic, for example) can intrude more than you might wish. Do not buy these if you need noise cancellation! In summary, I am delighted with these headphones and very glad I decided to spend the extra money to get them.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWhen it comes to excersize I do a lot of running and I have always struggled to find something comfortable that stays in my ears.

But as someone who produces music I would consider my self to be an audiphile and a bit of a perfectionist with sound. So trying to tick both these boxes proves to be a task.

I’m pleased to say these are the best earphones I’ve owned. They stay in my ears perfectly and never get uncomfortable even after long gym sessions. In the gym I like to listen to house, trance and generally bass heavy music with a high BPM. I have also used these for general listening on a range on genres from classical music, pink Floyd to above and beyond they do not disappoint.

For a wireless earphone which is directed towards sports I was very surprised with the soundstage on these. I must say they aren’t the loudest or best at blocking out background noise. But the bass reproduction is deep and punchy, the mids are clear and not muddy and the highs are crisp and overall it’s quite a balanced sound.

The build quality is great, I have had these for quite a while and they are still like brand new. They are the first things I put in my gym bag and I am so pleased I went with these and not any other earphones.

Bought these Bluetooth wireless SoundSport earphones after having 2 faulty SoundSport wired earphones. Such is my faith in Bose products: I own about half a dozen different systems, including in my car.

These Bluetooth wireless earphones are very easy to pair up with my iPhone. The sound quality is far superior to the wired Bose SoundSport earphones. It must be mentioned that Amazon were very helpful in resolving my faulty earphones (not these ones) and gave me a refund. Which meant I could upgrade to these ones.

Very happy with the bass sound. Quality is very clear too.

I’ve been buying sports headphones for many years and some of which are regarded as a good reliable brand. I’ve always loved Bose products but never thought to buy a pair for the gym due to the cost. Typically I do a lot of cross fit and as anyone knows it’s a hardcore workout of which many headphones don’t last 5 minutes, these on the other hand are amazing. The sound quality is crystal clear and drowns out a lot of background noise, as gyms can be very noisy. They are durable and absolutely stay in place and do not fall out. Can’t recommend this product enough you won’t a better pair of headphones especially at this price.

Use them daily to replace their wired companions. Battery lif is about 6 hours so I can push out about 2 days of commuting on them, all though you soon get used to dropping them on charge.

Great on an aircraft, no noise cancelling but they block out the majority of the aircraft noise passively.

Sound quality is as good as the wired variant, however when making a call I end up having to remove one ear as you loose side-channel (can’t hear yourself clearly).

That’s the only bad thing I can think of to say about them…

Delivery was on the slow side but forgivable as it was Xmas.
If your into your music these are the ones. Battery life is about 6hrs but what it lacks in battery life makes up for in quality.

Good quality sound expected of Bose. The design however is slightly clumpy, not sure they need to stick out as much as they do. There are three sizes of rubber bits so should fit all ears. My gripe is the little details, other Bose products have the Bose TM on the USBs, these however are just plain USBs, also a plug isn’t provided for the USB charging cable, which for the price is a bit irksome.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is my second pair of Bose sound sport wireless headphones, my first didn’t survive the washing machine when I stupidly left them in a pocket. However, having the slightly newer design and what feels like extra battery life has renewed my love for these when I re purchased them a day after mine broke.

I used to use Bose wired headphones in the gym but they were so impractical, looking back I can’t believe how long I lasted.

These headphones offer great sound, better in my opinion than other ones on the market such as AirPods.
I also think that these are actually more practical than the higher priced completely wireless version, having the wire between ear pods actually helps in terms of not losing them and not having to carry round the case with them.

Great for gym, holiday, sports, running and just general travel. Would highly recommend, especially to anyone wavering about whether these would be a good present. My whole family have now got these having seen how good they are.

I had to send back a pair of Monster iSport because they just stopped working after a month. I decided to spend a little
more on these and so far, very pleased.

As you’d expect from Bose the bass is powerful, perfect for the gym where I work out which regularly has loud classes in the main fitness area – that Les Mills fad. But you don’t lose out on the mids and the top isn’t too hissy.

Very solid build quality means they are quite chunky but with a bit of experimentation I have found they stay in my ears for running, mat work etc. And I sweat a lot when I get going so that’s no mean feat. Inline control is no problem and is reassuringly safe from water damage under sealed rubber.

Battery life strong, Bluetooth connection easy.

    Recommend.

Sound quality is excellent, what I’d expect from bose.
    Cost a lot.
Durability: I’m a bit worried it would break as I’m not extremely delicate.
Presentation: amazing. Really well presented in a massive box for a tiny little thing. I reckon I can store biscuits in that box now, recycling is good.
Comes with a little round pouch and some extra ear plugs for size.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have been an audiophile for decades. I have good hearing and my normal phones are Senn IE8 or Grados. Reading the reviews, I was suspicious that some reviewers were evaluating knock-offs. Guess what, there is a website that indicates there are multiple knockoffs of these Bose units. Anyway, it is early days but the connection to iWatch and iPhone was flawless and the retention and comfort is very good. Sound quality is rich and warm, lacking a little detail but perfectly good for sports and active use. Battery life and durability are initial assessments but may change with use.

I had been looking to buy a replacement for my old Bose noise cancelling wired in-ear headphones. They had lasted me for 6 years but now the cable has cut open in various locations (as I never use the carrying case and the headphones (when not being used) were always in the same pocket as my keys. Plus, I used my headphones pretty much everyday so 6 years was very good going. Upon researching lots, I settled upon these headphones for following reasons:
    1. I wanted wireless in-ear headphones and all the noise cancelling ones currently made by Bose do not excite me. I am not a fan of the collar that sits around your neck (that houses the noise cancellation parts).
    2. These headphones are very sturdy and the not so expensive price was a huge hit. The wireless connectivity helps too.

Feedback: These headphones have very good sound quality (like all usual Bose products) and even though I primarily use them on the trains on my daily commute, I can listed to the music perfectly and it drowns out the train noise (even though this isn’t noise cancelling. Additionally, the headphones do not slip out from my ears (even when running) and the fact that they’re waterproof is a bonus. Definitely happy with these and I am pleased that I did not spend three times as much for noise cancelling headphones.

These headphones are a great product, used them a few times so far and the bluetooth range is very good (Can go around the house without my phone and it remains clear with no cut outs (Going outside to the opposite side of a brick wall cuts out here and there but still maintains connectivity) I thought the earpieces would be too heavy for my ears and they’d just fall out, but keeping active they stayed in with no problems. I recommend these for gym enthusiasts, runners and just general usage.

Golden Review Award: 32 From Our UsersWhat I like:
    – Absolutely amazing sound quality!!! Plenty of bass. No distortion anywhere from the deepest to the highest sounds; just clean, clear and crisp sound all over the entire range. One of the best sound from little earbuds I’ve ever heard.
    – Lightweight and comfortable, just the right length of cable between the two sides with a handy clip.
    – They never fall out from my ears (and don’t feel like they are about to) no matter what intense exercises I do.
    – I don’t have to press them deep in my ears to get all the bass (for many other earbuds you have to do that).

    What is okay:
    – Battery life is average, around 4 hours, but that’s quite enough for me.
    – Maximum volume is again quite enough for me, but some users might sound it a bit low (i.e. they are very loud but not deafeningly loud).

What I don’t like but not really a problem (just strange):
    – The on/off switch requires a lot of force to operate.
    – There is a short clicking/popping sound whenever I change apps on my phone (over-the-ear Bose headphones don’t produce that noise).

Overall, I love them, and can absolutely recommend.

In contrast these are very comfortable and can wear for hours. They also don’t fall out while running. Sound quality is excellent and great bass (I mainly listen to hip-hop, r&b).
Only downside I would say is the cable can grip the skin on the back of your neck when running, although you can use the clip to clip on to t-shirt which helps. Also battery life could be better but not a deal breaker.

Golden Review Award: 159 From Our UsersI bought these as a replacement for my old soundsport wired in ears, and they do not disappoint. The sound is pretty much equivalent to the wired version, tending toward the bass as a sporty headphone, but no overly so, good isolation with the included tips, and going loud enough to block out all outside noise.

I was initially put off by the look, make no mistake, these are bulky. They stick out from your ears a good inch, and you are always are you are wearing them, although they’re still very comfortable, the shape of bose tips fits my ears perfectly. In fact I almost sent them back because of this.

Then I started to appreciate them more based on their advantages over their competitors:

Because the earpieces are so bulky there’s no long, heavy wire like on the beats x to get trapped during workouts on a bench, or flap around, pulling the buds out and leading to cable noise. The sound quality on these also blows the beats out of the water. I would say powerbeats come close, but wearing over the ear clips day to day makes you look almost as silly as these bulky things.

Charging uses a standard micro usb into the right earpod, which is covered by a flap of rubberised plastic. This I feel is a weak point as the flap seems like it will tear after extended use. However, it is a much preferable solution to the proprietary charger used by the Jaybird X3’s.

Battery seems closer to 7 hours than the advertised 8, but a 10 minute charge refills almost two hours of playback. Battery can be improved using the bose connect app to reduce the amount of time before the headphones go to sleep when they don’t receive any sound.

The app is pretty bare bones, it can generate funny names for your buds, and allows you to stream the same audio to two pairs of bose headphones. There aren’t any EQ options however, which would be nice to see. You can change the language of voice prompts (Please add UK english), or turn them off entirely.

The inline volume controller seems a bit clunky, it has your usual up and down volume, play, pause, hold to activate siri. But the buttons are covered by a rubber membrane that sometimes makes them hard to press.

Conclusion: Currently the best bluetooth in ears on the market in my opinion. Yes, they have their flaws, size being a significant one. But if you can get past that, the sound is better than any of it’s nearest competitors, and without any of the even greater drawbacks that others have. If you buy them and dislike them because of their size, wait a day before sending them back, and try to find something better, I couldn’t.

Good bluetooth earphones with a rich sound. The main issue however, which is common for other Bose earphones is the lack of good bass. This is due to the style of the Bose earphones, with them not being fully ‘in ear’. This also means they let in too much external sound.

Also make sure you update the firmware through the Bose app when you get the product. Because out of the box, the bluetooth would keep on dropping out making me think I had a faulty product. Once it was all updated, everything worked fine and never drops out. Very solid connection.

Good quality bluetooth earphones. Only issues are lack of bass and too much external sound. These issues can both be solved if only Bose decided to change their design so they were fully in ear. Shame.

Golden Review Award: 55 From Our UsersI waited a little while before offering an opinion having been through a number of cheaper and more expensive alternatives. These are the best headphones I own, and I own a lot of in and over ear. I say this because these are always the ones I reach for. They are incredibly comfortable and the sound they deliver is easily the best I’ve heard… very balanced. They are a little bulkier in the ear than some of the alternatives but the seal that the silicon ear buds achieves means they never fall out or stop providing excellent sound isolation. I wear these when travelling trans atlantic flights because they are so comfortable and don’t over heat my hears like the over ear versions. Only down side…. I’ve lost countless clips that holds the ear phones to your collar… But the Bose web site is great for ordering replacements and and in some instances cheaper than the “clones” you find on amazon so always check there first. Another note of caution… always make sure you update the firmware on the headphones to the latest available (via phone app) otherwise they can drop the signal…

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersUpdate:
1 year on and these are still my favourite earphones. I use them at the gym and and they have never fallen out. Call quality is great, I have no complaints.

I’m sick of seeing biased reviews by people who get free products, I paid full price for this and want to give a real review for a great product.
I have tried various wireless earphones and I must say that these are the best I have used.
    1. They are extremely comfortable and even though they are quite bulky, you can barely feel them in your ears.
    2. The sound quality is amazing, the bass is powerful (obviously you can tweak this is you don’t like the sound), and the voices are crisp and clear. I have tried the Sennheiser CX 6.00BT and the music was quite piercing especially with percussion instruments and some artists’ singing. The Bose earphones offer the highest quality.
    3. So far the battery life has been great, although 6 hours may not last me for long journeys so it will be worth investing in a small portable charger.
    4. These aren’t entirely noise cancelling but they are good enough, you will not get run over by a car wearing these but also you won’t be able to hear people’s voices.
    5. I haven’t used these at the gym yet but with the in-ear silicone wing I believe that they will not fall out easily.
    6. There is no sound delay when watching videos on apps such as YouTube or Twitter, as I have noticed with other wireless earphones. This is a huge plus for me.
    7. This even comes with a little case for your earphones so you don’t lose them when you’re out and about.

Overall, this is a great pair of wireless earphones, you have to pay a bit more for the quality but it is worth it.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI have owned a lot of headphones in my time, they all have there plus points. The Bose SoundSport have a few minor irritations such as the clip that comes with the cable is a little bit flimsy. The battery life is a little under what i had hoped for at around the 6 – 7 hour mark but saying that….. They are ultimately a fantastic bit of kit. I use mine in all weathers and they work beautifully, the sound quality is incredible. I listen to everything from classical to film, from pop to rock and without a doubt the additional detail you here within these headphones is safe to say awesome…. Just try War of the Worlds by Jeff Wayne and you’ll see what I mean by power!!
The connection to iPhone and iMac (in my case) is clear, never disconnects and has an incredible range. I have owned Bose products in the past and is safe to say I will continue to do so as these are worth not only the money but the enjoyment I get from my massive music collection has increased ten fold. Thank you Bose you are in my humble opinion the best!!

Golden Review Award: 38 From Our UsersThe bad : Firstly let me point out that 4 stars have been given not to the quality of the audio from these headphones but the average battery life ( rated at 6 hours but i am managing to get 4 to 5 at my volume levels ). Enough for gym and sport but when i`m gardening all day these will not last . Its not a bad battery life but not deserving a full 5 star rating

    The good :
I purchased these as i used to own their wired soundsport headphones and i still rate them as the best in class for audio. However the cable was of poor quality and would require frequent soldering . Expensive if you cant solder
When i saw these i had to buy hoping the audio would come close ( despite bluetooth loss) . In my opinion they match and even surpass the quality of their previous wiredversion I listen to mainly classical and opera . I also listen to spoken radio.
The character of the audio on the Soundsport is detailed and punchy – Bose doesn’t allow you to EQ the headphones or offer any audio mode presets, but they do say that the Soundsport will use “Active EQ” to optimally adjust the audio for whatever’s playing. I found this to be the case

The Soundsport offer a surprising amount of bass , very clear mid-range, and reasonably good highs. Detail is well-preserved and I found that while not always very faithful to the character of some recordings, the Soundsport always sound pleasant
They also get very loud, if you’re concerned with that .

The app itself is clean and well-designed, and performs exceptionally well on my note 8 phone. simple and intuitive when i connected to the headphones the app updated the firmware of the headphones and i was good to go.

They are not the best looking and possible a tad bulky in appearance ( needs the driver size i assume to deliver such decent audio) but fit so snugly with the default medium buds i did not need to experiment with the extra small and large ones provided too.
Once in ear they stay locked in place and i tested out this running, cycling and xtrainer. Also some yoga ( even inverted poses) and strength training.

These are not noise isolating and so some background noise can be heard but safety first i presume, especially if out on road.

I toyed with giving these a 4 star review due to battery life but they more than compensate for this with build quality, comfort and of course that BOSE sound quality. So 5 stars and my whole hearted unbiased recommendation for anyone looking for sport/outdoor headphones .

Golden Review Award: 79 From Our UsersAfter my jabra sport headphones giving up the ghost I needed some more, after researching I decided to go for these, was a little apprehensive at first as thought the ear fixings wouldn’t stay in after arrived trying them on they fit perfect, very sturdy but what really blew me away was the soundquality, my jabra was OK but lacked in bass and volume, I have some powerbeats that are pretty good but these are fantastic the quality of sounds is superb and the music sounds like it was meant to heard.

If these had 10 stars I would give them it, the iPhone app is great as it helps tell you when the battery is running low.
I also decided to take the amazon 3 year insurance for 20 against them breaking down as I use them everyday to train and my Jabra only lasted 2 years

    Highly recommended

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI researched extensively for a decent set of wireless headphones to use at the gym and when commuting to work. These really are the best out there, the Bluetooth connection is rock solid both indoors and outside, and the sound quality is good, particularly when paired with an iPhone. The only down side is that they don’t have any noise isolation so you can hear what is going around you in noisy environments, but I can live with that.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersThese are amazing!! Very high quality and amazing sound as you’d expect from Bose.

When I first unboxed them I thought they looked far too big and awkward to be comfortable and stable when running, but, honestly, they’re so light and the rubbers that insert into your ears are brilliantly designed for comfort. They come with three sizes of the rubbers for smaller or larger eared people (medium is fitted in the box).

They don’t budge at all when running. I’ve even shook my head from side to side as fast as I could to test them and they didn’t move at all.

Extremely easy to set up. I’ve had them paired to my iPhone, laptop, and smart TV and they’ve paired straight away without issues. I was actually amazed when they spoke to me and said “paired with Gareth’s iPhone!!”

Compared to the more expensive Apple earbuds these are by far and away superior. If you want very high quality Bluetooth earbuds look no further! Even the box they come in and the little carry case are beautiful.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersI’ve read some of the 1 star reviews for this product and feel the need to set the record straight!

I’ve bought so many headphones over the years in the 50 to 150 bracket, and these sound as good as any I’ve ever had. Base is strong, treble is clear, spoken word comes through with great tone and clarity. Not hugely noise cancelling (you wouldn’t expect active cancelling for the price), and could be a little louder if you really want to blast your ears, but definitely not quiet.

The fit in the ear is ingenious – if you choose the right size you can literally tug on them without them falling out. You can put them in your ears and run for half an hour without thinking about them.

The Bluetooth is great – no loss of connection up to at least 5 metres.

Battery life is ok, will need charging every couple of days if you use them regularly and at length.

Lastly, build quality is excellent. As anybody who has bought plenty of comparably priced headphones will know, build quality and cable noise is normally the issue. These feel chunky and well made, have no cable noise, and work perfectly with no sign of wear after 6 months of daily use and frequent gym trips.

Overall, a great choice and great value; you can’t go wrong.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersExcellent Bose sound as always, I love all their headphones, it is a little bulky on the ear to be honest, but the stay technology truly works and excellent for exercise movement. The only issue I have with it that I do not think that 10m bluetooth reach is actually correct, it begins to distort at some 7m, so if you think you can do gardening while listening to youtue or your iPod, think again. Other than that, clever, beautifully designed product with the best sound.

PS correction, the bluetooth range, now that I used it for a few days is more like 5m, that surprises me and disappoints me, I would like to hear other users feedback if they get more out of this product and if I should check with Bose…

Great sound and really good quality connection to the phone. Nice to also have updates on battery percentage so you can charge it before it runs out of juice.

Only problem for me is the fit. The in-ear hooks are either a little too large or too small but that would be just for me. There’s three sizes of interchangeable hooks in the pack, they just fall between sizes for me.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersTried very many headphones, normal wired and bluetooth, many of the most expensive in my quest for the best. Beats Studio BT and Beats Powerbeats 2 Sony M1000 BT, Sony Free. All the new ones including the Bose Free without the wite in between.
Also tried the Sennieser 6XXX best Mass Drop.

These are much better than all so far including the Bose 35. Just get them on Amazon, you will not send them back, guaranteed. I would give ten stars if I could.
Update 28th December 2017. These are still the best bluetooth IEM on the market and the new Free are just ad good if not better, I was lucky to be able to get some from USA via Ebay.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI’m prone to losing things, so didn’t want to spend this much on a pair of headphones for running and the gym, hence my investment (two weeks ago) in a relatively cheap pair of Taotronics (20). What a mistake. I don’t know if I’m unusually spoilt, owning a pair of Bose QC35s for flying and driving and some QC20s for commuting, but the sound on the Taotronics was simply risible. To add insult to injury they steadfastly refused to stay put while I was running on the treadmill or outdoors – I sweat profusely, but isn’t that what sport is about?? These Bose headphones are the diammetrical opposite. The sound is simply fantastic, easily approaching, if not quite on a par with the QC20s. The bass and midrange are great. They are not sound cancelling for a reason – when pounding on a treadmill or outdoors the sound deadening ‘phones deliver a thump-thump to the ears as your heel strikes the running surface. I experienced this with the QC20s and realised they would be no good for working out. It’s also much safer if running outside as one should be able to hear approaching traffic. These headphones also stay put even through the toughest of workouts and to cap it all off, the bluetooth range is excellent. I was doing circuits in the gym yesterday and realised I’d left my phone 30 feet away on a bench, yet the music was still coming through loud and clear. I know these cost a lot of money and I know they stick out a little bit from one’s ears but they are hands-down the best headphones I’ve ever had for a workout. Forgo a month of lattes and get some.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThese are amazing headphones. I had some beats 3 which I returned as they were useless and kept falling out of my ears. These are a different league and ooze the class that you would expect from a Bose product. They connect instantly to my iphone and the sound is great. I have worn them for over 100 miles of running over the past month and have not had a problem. I wore them for the Leeds 10k which was run on an incredibly hot day and they survived the sweat and water cannons that doused us along the route. You will not be disappointed with these headphones.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is an update to my initial review of the Bose SoundSport Wireless Headphones. I’ve left my original review unchanged, but I would like to add an update …. and an admission that my first impression was wrong.

My SoundSport wireless headphones had been languishing in their box since that first disappointing test, and I’d happily switched back to my SoundSport wired. Well the other day I couldn’t find my wired favourites so I picked up the wireless headphones as I went out for my cycle ride. Very quickly I noticed there was very little wind noise. I checked several times, took the phones off, switched them off and on, changed the music, and sure enough the wind noise was at a level similar or lower than the wired version I’d previously heralded as far superior.

I tried again the next day, and the same happened: Clear music and not a lot of wind noise. What I did find though that a lot depends on the seal between the phones and your ear. By following the Bose instructions and placing the phones in your ear and then twisting them forwards into position a good seal is achieved more often than not. Of course being a bloke I only read instructions as a last resort and the first time I used them I just plonked them in my ears with the result that the seal wasn’t properly formed, leading to lots of wind noise.

On my second test I must have fluke the fit, but now I know what to do I’m sure I’ll be able to consistently enjoy wind-noise-free music from now on.

So apologies to anyone I may have misled by my initial review. I’d now say that these headphones are every bit as good (if not better for cycling) than the wired version, and they have the benefit of being wire free. My tip is to make sure you get the fit right by following the instructions.

    Original review:

First of all I should declare that I am a big fan of Bose. I currently have a SoundLink 300 sound bar, Quiet Comfort 25 headphones, SoundSport wired headphones and an old Wave CD player. They are all excellent pieces of kit. Whenever I’m considering a new audio item Bose is always my first (and usually only) port of call.

So when I came to upgrade my SoundSport wired headphones with wireless headphones I automatically turned to the SoundSport wireless.

First impressions on opening the box were positive, as expected. Professional presentation and a quality feel to the headphones. I have read some reviews complaining that they are “plasticy”. Well they are made of plastic but they feel solid, are nicely finished, and the cable connecting the phones is really substantial.

They were very easy to set up (no need to refer to the enclosed instructions) and the sound is as you’d expect from Bose. I have to say though that I think they are not quite as good as the wired version, which seems a bit more natural and less digital. I found the same when picking out my over-ear headphones when I chose the wired Quiet Comfort 25 over the wireless Quiet Comfort 35.

Comfort-wise they are pretty good. They are a bit bigger and heavier than the wired version, but I guess that is inevitable, and this isn’t really much of an issue. They do have a lightweight seal in the ear and I think this makes them less comfortable than the wired version, which don’t have a seal, and a probably the most comfortable thing I’ve ever put in my ears (!). However I don’t have an issue with the comfort of the SoundSport wireless.

My main sport is cycling, and the main reason for switching to wireless headphones is to improve flexibility and convenience in this context. Unfortunately this is where I quickly ran into trouble. The big issue was wind noise. Even at my usual modest cycling speed wind noise was extremely distracting such that it was hard to listen to music. At faster speeds such as fast descents the wind noise became uncomfortably loud and music completely inaudible. I tried adjusting the phones to different positions and different types of music, but with no improvement. This is a deal breaker for me as it means I basically can’t use them for cycling. I also find it disappointing that a top brand such as Bose would market sports headphones that you can’t really use for such a popular sport.

I’d never really noticed wind noise with the wired SoundSport, so I thought I’d do a controlled test (a bit sad I suppose?). So, same bike, same route, same music, same cycling speed; I tested the SoundSport wired. As it happens there is some wind noise, but the levels are much lower and for the most part listening is not a problem. At my usual speed I’d describe the wind noise as low to moderate – I could pick out individual acoustic instruments with no problem. On those fast descents the noise increased to moderate to high (but I kind of expected this).

The other aspect where the wired version are superior in my opinion is to do with the way the earphones fit in the ears. The wired version extend into the ear but have no seal. As a result you can hear quite a lot of ambient sound – like birds singing, or more importantly traffic. I like this when exercising outdoors and gives a natural “not cut off” feeling. The wireless version do have a light seal, and whilst you can hear some outside sound you do feel more cut-off from the world. I don’t especially like this.

This seal also presents a problem when jogging (which I do rarely). Each foot strike creates a boom, whereas this isn’t an issue with the wired version.

So I would say that the wired SoundSport are superior in almost every way to the wireless version. The only benefit to the wireless SoundSport is the absence of a wire! But then you have to charge them up.

I’ve packed the wireless SoundSport back in their box and am currently debating whether to return them as “not fit for purpose”. I may keep them for general listening use, as they are quite a neat bit of kit. They might also come in handy if I ever join a gym!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBut sadly, I couldn’t. They are just do bulky and cumbersome! The sound is great, really good, but such is their size, they simply wouldn’t stay in place without being held! Rather defeats the purpose of getting wireless earphones. Even the smallest of the earpieces was too large for my ears. I concluded that I will wait for the technology to improve sufficiently to make them fit for purpose and went back to wired and bought the 1MORE.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAbsolutely fantastic! From the minute I opened the box I knew I’d made the right choice. Having read numerous reviews about Bluetooth headphones I decided to go with these. Comes with carry pouch, different sized ear adapters and a micro USB cable. The quick and easy 3 step guide allowed me to pair with my iPhone 6S in a matter of seconds. Interesting way to put them in your ears but as they are so light they are hardly noticeable. They are on the larger side as Bluetooth headphones go, but it really isn’t a bother to me as they sound soooooooo good.

They are almost the same as listening through a pair of my Sony MDR 7506 studio headphones. Very flat reference, clear and crisp highs and just enough low. You can tell that these have been designed to listen to the music exactly how it was recorded. I’m not a fan of EQing music that’s already been mixed and mastered, as I like to listen to how the engineer has intended for the song to sound. These headphones are seriously second to none. I haven’t tried the Beats Powerbeats 3, but I don’t actually intend to now as the Bose have exceeded my expectations of a Bluetooth headphone.

If you are considering buying and you want true sound and an exceptional listening experience, do not hesitate – you won’t be disappointed.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThese are excellent. I used mine yesterday for the first time having arrived after 2 days. Paired effortlessly with my Mac, iPod nano and iPhone and great sound. good bass, best with the iPod – maybe as the equaliser can be adjusted, “R & B” setting seems best. Though not noise cancelling there is a good seal which does muffle out the gym noise quite acceptably. They feel a little top heavy at first but after 60 minutes of various physical jerks including jogging they stayed in impeccably. I tried a 20 pair of wireless earbuds before which were rubbish, these are a world apart in quality and functionality. Why compromise.
