Let’s be honest, as washing lines go, this one ain’t cheap. But, it’s brilliant. When not in use its folded away. That alone opens up the garden. When it’s needed, it’s big enough to dry several washing loads at once. (We’ve got 3 adults in our house)

A great little close line, pull it out of its housing very easy and when finished it folds back into the housing very easily.

Lovely foldaway clothes line, in a metal box. I don’t like the look of unattended washing lines and this folds down and you don’t even know its there ! Holds a large amount of washing. Saves me from using the tumble drier!

Really pleased with my new wall mounted dryer. It was easy to attach to the wall. They include a template to help you. It’s big enough for a full load of washing. Large sheets do have to be folded in half. And it packs away neatly. Glad I bought it.

Overall I’m very happy with the product, delivery was fine, packaging was perfect and all the fixings were there. Instructions were ok and everything was great until the final stage of fitting the storage box but after removing it from the plastic bag finding it had not just one but two dents in the left hand door, one very noticeable. Had no choice but to fit it to protect the airer but I must say I’m very disappointed.

Easy to fit as packaging has a template to cut out. Fitted with up windows frame screws and plugs. Stronger than supplier sent. Taking up far less room leaving more of backyard clear. Folds away nicely too.

Couldn’t be happier with this. It was a lot of money compared to some others, but now I see why. Study, roomy, but tidies away compact. Only thing that was naf was the plastic clip for the top that the bag fastens over. It didn’t go on properly, so had to leave it off. However the weather protection bag still goes over it all and seems to stay put.

    Excellent!

I am so impressed by the WallFix I wanted to write a review and recommendation. I paid 92 from Amazon and it faithfully arrived the next day (thanks Prime!). I’m aware a rotary line, clothes airer or piece of rope could cost much less – I’ve had too many snapped, buckled, broken bits of plastic to throw away that I wanted something of better build quality. Here’s why I am delighted with my purchase choice…

    Fixing:
It is largely assembled in the box, just a case of adding a few bits once the back plate is in place. There is a guide for holes and distance on the box so all you need is to drill the holes. Long wall plugs and sturdy long screws provided, depth of hols is about 5cm. Once the holes are done, assembly is easy. The highest line will be around 30cm above the top holes. As I understand, the fixture holes are the same as older versions of the Wallfix.

    Use:
It’s easy to open and close and relises on levers – no great strength is required. It feels odd the first time to pull it out, as you’d think you need to pull downwards, but you actually pull outwards from the wall until you hear a little click. It also pushes back in very easily: when you want it to, can’t see it collapsing with a wash load on it! The handle requires little grip, though you could easily tie something to it if required. The whole this can easily be placed lower unlike traditional rotary lines. This is very user friendly for anyone with a disability, such as those who use a wheelchair or experiences problems with dexterity, movement, strength or grip. The material cover has 2 poppers to keep in in place, this could be a little fiddly as the poppers are quite close to the wall once installed: I believe there is a hard casing which may be easier to open and close, though for additional cost. If it’s about the asthetic, I think the bag cover looks just fine. Either way, it will keep your line clean and dry and will last longer. The washing line looks sturdy and strong. Each washing line is individually fixed: if one did snap, it would not effect the others like a traditional line. I’m unsure if Brabantia do replacement line, but normal washing line tied off at each end once threaded would work just as well.

    Efectiveness:
It dries laundry! It doesn’t rotate like a rotary line does in the wind. I guess this would decrease the drying time a fraction if it did. It easily fits 2 wash loads (I have an 8kg washer) with it’s 24cm washing lines. 20kg is described as the limit. Washing would blow against the wall it is fixed to, so I’d advise that’s a clean ish surface.

    Quality:
The whole thing is strudy and feels trustworthy – it’s not going to snap. The box, fixtures… everything about it is premium quality. I love that it can be folded away and forgotton about. I have read older version of this were flimsy and buckled: I am confident this one is not bending or going anywhere.

    Overall:
Innovative and useful product… saves damaging floors with various holes – I can confidently say I’ve never managed to get a traditional rotary line vertical and sturdy in my life! Would very much suit smaller outside spaces: patios, balcony, courtyards, shared areas. Or even indoors, in a utility room or garage. I could also imagine it (with different bold fixings) easily attaching to a mobile home, caravan or camper van. That said, larger homes and famililies will also find it meets their needs. With the increasing cost of energy as well as the environmental impact of most electrical drying options, outdoor drying is by far my preferred option, as well as tradition and freshness. Bonus: I have a tree planted for me! I can now dry clothes easily and effectively without compromising space / asthetic or comfort.

    In short… Excellent product, 10/10!!

    Best ever washing line

This was easy to install with the right drill although instructions didn’t really say how the metal cover clips on so that was a bit of a guess. Didn’t take long though.

I can fold and unfold one handed although when clicking it in place I do it by the bar not the handle.

Ultimately it’s looks tidy when not in use. It’s protected and will get plenty of use once the weather improves again. Very happy with this purchase and would recommend for those who have limited room and want a tidy optio

A brilliant, compact and elegant solution if you have an appropriate wall space. I would strongly recommend having the brushed metal doors to hide the washing line.

Fairly easy to put up – for various reasons I’ve now done 4 -and the available washing line is almost the same size as a free-standing one. And when you are done, you can fold it away and with the metal doors the whole thing is neatly out of sight. I recommend highly.

I checked before I bought, because this is NOT cheap but I can see now it’s money well spent. Very intelligent way to mount on the wall, you could probably do this on your own. It’s very sturdy and really is a one handed operation to open or close. The nylon cover completely covers it, so I can’t see why you would choose the cased option that is twice the price.

I read a few reports that this item wasn’t very sturdy. I think you’d have to be very rough with it to break it. Had it over a year now and it’s easy to open and close. Saves having a line cluttering up the garden – folds away in seconds. Good capacity too.

We are very pleased with our purchase so far. Very easy to set up and attach to outside wall. Perfect for small to medium sized washing loads.

Did not buy for a small space. Old washing line went cross the garden and spoilt the view. Also when washing out you had to go through it to go up the garden. Only place we could hv the line. With the wall fix, it’s in a sunnier spot and holds the same amount of washing as the two lines did . The major benefit is you can put it away after use. Very pleased with purchase.

Bought this for an elderly relative as pulling out the retractable washing line was becoming difficult for herit’s superbly made and very well designed but it is quite hard to fold back in it needs quite a lift to unclick from its locked position could do with something to to give an extra bit of leverage for our senior citizens.so would throughly recommend for the fit and able but the elderly may find it a challenge.

Saw this in a neighbours garden and came straight home and ordered one. It was the answer to all our problems. Had our garden landscaped, our very small garden, and didn’t want the washing line on either my circle of artificial grass or on the new patio. The price tag might appear a little intimidating at first – surely it is possible to find one that’s cheaper that’s as good?

Perhaps it is, but I am glad we went with the Brabantia. This is an excellent, solidly constructed, easy to use clothes line. Washing can be heavy with water when put out and wind can pull at it on the line – the last thing you want is a line that doesn’t fill you with confidence.

It folds up small and sits neatly on an outside wall. When fully extended it still doesn’t take up a huge amount of space but manages a lot of potential drying space.

    Impressed and I would recommend.

I was initially tempted by the cheaper makes of this type of washing line but after reading reviews, payed the premium for this brand. I am glad I did. The product is very sturdy and comes with a 5 year warranty. I also payed the additional cost for the optional wall mounted storage box so overall, a significant investment to dry laundry outside. But I think this will last a good few years. It is relatively easy to operate once you get the hang of it and folds back tidily into place on the wall. Installation was OK, but took two of us. Would recommend paying the extra especially if you plan on leaving this outside all year. Overall, a good buy.

Actually the item is perfect for us . We’ve attached it to wall outside our back door . It has replaced the rotary dryer which was such an eyesore in the middle of the garden. It works for us because there is just two of us . It certainly would be no good for families with a reasonable amount of washing. I’ve given a low score for sturdiness as the metal cover is as thin as thin . It arrived quite dented and we asked for a price reduction which was given . Annoyingly when you open up the metal cover one of the doors falls off at the top . It’s easy so far to put back on but had we realised before we screwed it on wall we would have sent it back . However! I’m still pleased we bought it !

So far so good. Two person job to install as it’s a bit of a fiddle to get the washers in the right place. Once installed, it is really easy to use, extremely light, one handed operation (even with an injured arm at the moment). I am short so it’s great that you can decide how high to install it to suit your own purposes. My only complaint is that you pay a lot for the box but it’s extremely flimsy and doesn’t actually open and close smoothly – the one side always shuts unevenly and I have to fiddle with it to get the bottom to come around to the closed position. It’s a bit annoying but overall I still think it’s a good piece of kit, as long as you treat it with care

Love love love it! I shouldn’t be this happy about a clothes line but sadly I am . Placed mine on a wall, can’t say much about attaching it as someone else did it for me. You can open and close it effortlessly with 2 fingers. The fabric cover seems very robust and fastens with press studs so pretty sure it stay attached. Just so neat. I nearly paid double and went for the one with the silver case…. whether the extra money is worth it is an individual choice. The silver case does look very convenient though. Not hung any washing on it yet, still waiting for the warmer weather but looks like it will hold a decent amount of washing. Had brabanti products before and always been sturdy and lasted well. Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat purchase. String and sturdy. My only criticism would be the tiny limited instructions and pictures. Took a bit of time to decipher what needed to be done (washers where etc). It’s definitely a two man job though. As with other reviews I also struggled to close it at first (thinking I’m going to pull it of the wall at this rate) but found if you put one hand under the bottom of the frame and lift slightly it easily pops out where it locates into the wall bracket then just use your other hand to close as normal with the handle.
Had no problems since so highly recommend.

We went for this even though it was much more expensive than some alternatives. Glad we did as it is far stronger and better made than cheaper versions. Folds away neatly against the wall with include cover. Very easy to install. Great product.

We bought this as we did a garden redesign and didn’t want a rotary line in the middle of the lawn. When we purchased it, it was 79.99 – I wouldn’t pay any more for it.

I can put 4 loads of washing on the line – although bedding can be an issue as the longest area is too small to comfortably fit another bigger than a double.

Easy to fit, easy to fold away, looks neat and tidy
