I used to pick up these rather large cartridges very easily from my local Sainsburys for 45, until they stopped selling them. I just couldn’t find them on sale anywhere else, so I turned to Amazon.
The Amazon cartridges are marginally cheaper than from Sainsburys and appear to be the genuine article.
We get through one of these cartridges every three months, which is something we didn’t know when our plumbing company fitted the tap unit.
Four of these heavyweight cartridges a year starts to become quite expensive, however, I digress and these cartridges are competitively priced and appear to work perfectly.
I will be purchasing more from the same source when the time comes.

I’ve had my Brita tap and filter for over a year now and it is so much handier having filtered water straight from the tap instead of always having to use a filter jug and cheaper in the long run than buying bottled water.

As a genuine Brita replacement Filter it works as it should and slots into the housing unit correctly. My kettle is still in pristine condition after using this heavy duty filter system in my kitchen for the last 15 months so as this is my second replacement filter (6 months each) I can presume that the filter does make a difference and works as advertised.

This is one of the best purchases I made. I use brita tap with this filter and I can honestly say that I could not imagine living without it or going back ro filter jug. I was a bit resistant to buying tap and filter kit from brita, as I used the filter jug from them and I wasnt that happy with it. I only decided to get it as it seemed to be a good price comparing to other brands. After trying it out i can say that the filters in filter jug are not even in 10% as good as this one. This filter lasts really long (my last one lasted for 6 months), and you can forget about descailing your kettle every month! (maybe just once a year or every 6 months- when you change the filter. I didnt descale mine for 7 months) and before- when i used filter jug I had to descale the kettle at least once a month. On top of that you have fresh water available all the time, without worrying about filling the filter jug and then waiting for the water to filter. I recently visited my sister and was really annoyed with her filter jug, the wait time, and the condition of her kettle ( and my tea- with small bits of limescale in it). Its definitely worth the money. Best investment in my new home. I attached the photos of my kettle inside- I didnt descale it for 7 months and I live in a hard water area in London.

Having a Brita tap means you are tied down to buying these large filter cartridges.
These are easy to replace and mine has been set to be replaced every 6 months by the installer.
What I do not like is that fact there is no mentioning of recycling on the packaging. I would like to recycle these but from their website I have no idea if these can be dropped off at the supermarket recycling points like the smaller jug cartridges.

There’ not much one can say about a water filter. It seems to do the job in a part of the world (the Chew Valley) where water quality is not particularly good.
Great product for great tasting clean wate
Easy to fit now I know what I’m doing and have the confidence to go for it. Works perfectly. Living in a hard water area my kettle and coffee maker needed descaling every two weeks. Four months on and onto my second filter I have not seen any limescale at all. No tainted fluoride/chemical flavours in the water either.

Relatively straightforward to fit; just make sure you have a drip tray underneath when removing the old cartridge. The only drawbacks are the price and the short life – the previous one only lasted a few months.

Bought a new tap with attached Brita filter tap which needs this cartridge replacing about every 6months. Worked it out and it’s cheaper in the long run than buying bottled water all the time. Easy to replace, even I can do it!
Practical way to re-order brita cartridges
Good price and efficient delivery makes ordering spares very straightforward. This size cartridge doesn’t need changing as frequently as some which makes it better value.

Fitted a Brita MonoBloc tap with an integral filter line. My water is not particularly hard so it lasted 6 months before I renewed. I judge the effectiveness by how much scale builds up in the kettle as I fill from the filitered water line. If we use unfiltered water we notice scale build up within a couple of weeks but to date there has been very little scale so I guess we could have gone a little longer with the old cartridge. The tatse is certainly better on its own or with Squash, Tea, Coffee etc. This has proven to be better than the jugs as it is convenient and you do not run out waiting for a new jug of water. However based on Maxtra Cartridges it does work out at twice the price. On balance I feel it is worth it.

Brita P1000 On Line Active Plus Replacement Cartridge for Tap Filters
This was suggested by the kitchen fitter and it is great not having a filter jug to clutter up the work surface. We like to drink plenty of fresh filtered water and this really has to be the best way.

Have a Brita tap as water in our house taste strongly of chlorine. Amazon appears to be the cheapest place to buy these filters. Only slight gripe is that replacement instructions on the box neglects to mention that you need to depress the ‘flush valve’ before removing old filter.

This filter which is attached to the tap delivers limescale free water which keeps the kettle pristine as proof of operation.
I was less than pleased to see the price of these but have to say that they do a very impressive job and I have no regrets at installing an Online Active Plus, even if the 3-months timer supplied with it is a bit of a nonsense (Completely agree with Loulou on that). The thing that really won me over is the removal of limescale, something our previous filter made no attempt at. A couple of months on from installation, our new kettle is completely scale-free. Previously we had to descale the kettle regularly and clean its filter almost daily.
I do feel Brita could, at the price, find a better way of indicating when a cartridge change is needed. Nevertheless, if you value good-tasting water, and especially if you have hard water, I’d strongly recommend this system. The system itself and replacement cartridges in particular are over-priced, though, so one star deducted.
