Very nice watch.
If you like a watch that you never have to adjust this is for you.after initial set up that should be it.
Never is a long time tho and sooner or later the capacitor in the watch will fail rendering it useless.
Anothet bad point is the strap is integral to the watch and l suspect will not be easy to replace.
However all this will happen a long time from now and does not detract from the fact that this is an excellent watch..very legible face and a bargain price for all the features it contains.
And it works like magic!!!!

Bought this for my son as a birthday present, it’s a really nice watch very light on the wrist unlike my wavesecptor, and a very good spec for the cost. Took seconds to adjust the strap with the tool supplied, why can’t all watch straps be like this.

Excellent Waveceptor Watch
I have only had this watch for a week or so but so far I am really impressed with the appearance and functions. No issues getting the time set from the radio signal. I am looking forward to the reassurance that my watch is always at the correct time.

Great watch and as expected keeps very good time. Strap is easy to adjust but for me being stainless steel when it’s cold weather it is a bit loose, ok when I am warm. I like the fact I don’t need to put batteries in, and it’s radio controlled so keeps the date and time right.
Watch came very quickly
Watch came very quickly, well packed in a Postal Box & a very nice Casio Tin which I opened and I saw the Watch was immediately putting itself to the correct time. I have Wireless clocks all around the house & I have 4 Casio Wave Ceptre watches- I know they are all spot on timing to the Second. The Watch comes Factory fresh from Amazon with protective polythene all around the strap & watch. What a fantastic easy adjustment of the Strap (metal links), with an included tool. Lovely to handle. These are great Watches! 5 Star Well pleased and Recommended.
Superb quality and accurate watch. Good old Casio.
This is the best watch I have had for many years. It might not be the most attractive watch but the automatic timekeeping is superb and you don’t need any extra tools or a visit to a jewellers to have it resized and the the small tool provided easily removes and replaces links. The hourly time signal and several alarms are also a bonus.
Pity about the manual
Excellent watch at a good price, this was purchased to replace a similar Casio wave ceptor that is over 8 years old still going strong but hands keep slowing down. Just a pity that Casio cannot produce a manual with larger print that is readable, I had to download to my Kindle in order to enlarge it to get the watch set up.
I simply love thiswatch
I simply love this watch. The method in which you remove or add the metal links couldn’t be simpler, just use the supplied small plastic tool, push it into the hole and the link pops out. As a disabled person with only 1 working arm, this is just great. No more taking the watch to a jewelers to have it adjusted and with the solar power no more battery changes either. Speaking of solar power, it has an onboard battery powered by the solar panel and since I’ve owned it, this hasn’t moved from the Hi charged position. The time adjusts itself every night, I didn’t even have to adjust the watch when I first opened it, just told it where I was in the world and it did the rest. The picture above doesn’t do the watch justice, it’s more of a dark grey than blue so if you’re worried about the brightness of the face (like I was) then don’t be.
The only thing I don’t like about the watch is the back light which I think could of been better, but it’s a minor point at best and doesn’t stop me giving this watch 5 stars.

Had this watch a couple of weeks now and find it excellent. A little read of the the rather small print instruction book before set up and you’re away. Link removal is so easy with the small tool provided.( what a great idea the link removal system is). It took me about 2 minutes to remove 4 links without any expletives. The strap feels very good quality but also very lightweight, so you hardly notice you are wearing it at all.
Timekeeping is spot on to the second ( I’m a saddo that occasionally checks it against the time signal and take great delight to see it in perfect synch at all times).
The only slight downside may be the backlight. It is just about adequate but no big issue for me as I rarely use it.
The battery and solar function seem great. I take no great measures to recharge in the sun but the battery indicator has always remained on high at all times, so I’m fairly confident that the watch will always have enough power for my needs.
All in all, a well built watch, looks great, feels comfortable and good value for money.
Update. 6 years on and this watch is still working like it did when first purchased and has never missed a beat. Everything about it is superb!

I bought this watch so I don’t have to think about changing the time every transition from GMT to BST and back, and when travelling abroad. I also don’t have to worry if the watch battery is going to die on me when abroad leaving me without a timepiece. The watch strap is one of the best I have come across for removing links and a tool is provided. The only criticism is that the lower body is light grey plastic and is not concealed from view. So it looks odd amongst the shiny metal finish of the upper body and the strap.

This arrived in too large a box 8 x 10ins with no protection wadding inside so had been rolling around. Watch comes in a tin the lid was off but luckily watch didn’t fall out – zero marks to Amazon on packaging but watch is as described and very pleased with it.

Over the moon with this watch. Although it’s very lightweight which I find the biggest plus it’s also very robust and stylish. The lightweight makes it very comfortable and it has a cool nightlight if that flicks your switch. Also this watch on Amazon was 118 and in the shops it was 180.

An excellent timekeeper and no hassle with batteries. A good easily used system for the titanium bracelet link removal , but the “glass” is not as scratch resistant as its supposed to be… Heres a tip, polish out light scratches with automotive “T Cut” with patience.

I was bought this to replace a Seiko perpetual calendar watch which was all but reliable and was also expensive to maintain over the years. Here are the things I love about it.
1 It’s ridiculously easy to adjust the bracelet. A small tool is supplied, you hold it against a removable link and it pops apart, so simple compared with the previous struggles I have had. Why is link removal generally so badly documented when most of us no longer use a jeweller to do it?
2 Its time keeping is unbeatable, as it synchronizes with the atomic clock at night. Perpetual calendar? Forget it!
3 It is solar powered. Although most of the time it is under my sleeve, it arrived with battery showing MID charge and it is now on HI. My days of battery replacement are over.
4 It is ridiculously light. My old watch was like a manacle in comparison.
5 It has the functions you would expect from a digital watch, like alarms and counters, plus world time and it can display the date and weekday, the time digitally or another function.
6 Its dial is elegant and understated.
7 It has a back light and also glowing hands.
8 One button DST adjustment, if necessary.
Things I dislike?
1 The setup involves three buttons, and needs careful reading of the manual.
2 Mine arrived on Western EU time. I had to change it to the correct time region.

functionally a perfect analog watch
functionally a perfect analog watch. always accurate, easy to read, good range of display options, robust yet lightweight. oh, and it charges itself in daylight and artificial light too. aesthetically neutral so it will go with anything. what am i going to do with my other 20 watches? if you want an everyday workhorse watch, this is it.

I had a previous version of this model which I chose for clear face; solar power, and remote updating – the rim surrounding the face dropped off after several years. This one has one button less (so less fussy) and has worldwide time zones potential, though I found it does not select automatically – you need to take the miniaturised instruction manual to remind you how to do it. The face is not as blue as shown in some photos – really a blue/grey. Got this at reduced price, presumably because Casio have discontinued this line. Buy it.

Replacement for an earlier version of a Casio Wave Ceptor watch.
So far an excellent replacement for an older version of a Casio Wave Ceptor purchased about seven years ago. Only reason for replacing was one of the lugs for the pin of the bracelet broke off the watch body. Lets hope the plastic used for the body of this one is stronger! The strap adjustment is a brilliant design and the easiest that I have ever seen. Just read the instructions and use the small plastic tool enclosed with the watch. The use of plastic for the main part of the body is to facilitate the reception of the time signal and together with titanium for the metal parts of the body and bracelet makes this an ultra light watch to wear. Needles to say time keeping is excellent and the instructions included for adjusting the various functions of the watch are clear and simple to follow. An excellent purchase at a very attractive price.

This was a replacement for my eight year old Casio ‘Waveceptor’ which was getting a bit scruffy. This,, in my opinion, is a brilliant watch. Titanium construction gives it a weight of 2.3 oz’s.& skillful electronics lets it pick the most powerful time signal available.
Living in southern Spain, the signal can be a little weak but,this watch has never failed to receive once, unlike another watch I unfortunately recently bought !! I feel that any person buying this watch would feel they had made a good buy
The only complaint I have is the alarm tone is not loud enough,apart from that,perfect.

Bought as a dress watch very light and comfortable. I was concerned about link removal, however, there is a tool provided and extremely simple, I removed 4 links in seconds. The only decision is which side to take from. Easy to read dial lots read about yet but very happy with the product.

Could not ask for more as a watch with perfect time keeping and zero maintenance. However the ‘extras’ do not lend themselves to a traveler I.e. alarms are not loud enough and activate for only a short period and there is no snooze!

Excellent, lightweight analog/digital watch
Great watch. Very lightweight. Bracelet is easy to adjust with the supplied tool. As soon as I opened the box, the hands flew round to the correct time, thanks to being radio controlled. Looks easy to set to a different time zone, should this be needed. Lots of extra functions included.

I chose this particular watch because I liked the look of it, and also because i wanted a watch where i did not have to worry about the battery running out. As usual it arrived the day before i was expecting it, and as soon as i took it out of the tin, i knew that i had made the right choice. It was slightly too big for my wrist, but no problem, the tool that came with it to remove excess links, was simplicity in itself. And after a quick look at the manual i had it up and running within fifteen minutes of removing it from the tin. I would recommend this item to anybody who likes the feel of a real watch on their wrist. Excellent.

Good watch, doe’s what it says, but the face is not BLUE as shown, its a sort of grey, very disappointed as i ordered this for the face colour..

It is a very smart watch having many sensible functions and has extras like 5 Alarms not 1 like all my previous watches. Instructions are very easy to understand so I only have to become used to the watch’s buttons. My last Casio was large but this is extra large, but the strap can easily be adjusted and like others, I find the watch quite light. I have still a lot to learn but once I have completed this task, I expect it to be even more useful to me e g. I like running and the stop watch should be very useful in that respect. Lastly it is quite interesting and could be very useful to have all those Countries Times in the instruction bookle

Can’t be faulted! Even has a tool to remove links enclosed in the box (well tin actually – that’s what the ‘pack is supplied in). Just works and sets itself up as soon as you unpack it. Timekeeping is spot on (always). Can be read easily in the dark, and never needs to be opened, as it is solar-powered. It part shuts off at night to save power, but the main watch dial keeps going. I haven’t tested it in water, but I wouldn’t be doing that anyway, as, though I do swim, I wouldn’t take a watch swimming with me. It arrived by courier on time.
If you need a watch for life – buy this!
Great all round watch
I contemplated the black strap version of this WVA-M640 watch as I like silicon and leather strap watches most. However, this model came up at a great price and so I thought the more formal appearance would be worth going for. With this watch being so light it doesn’t snag on my wrist hairs like heavier bracelet watches can.
The reviews were good and most people have said how light it is and so I can only confirm that is indeed correct.
Having been a big G-Shock collector before I knew about the Waveceptor and Tough Solar features and got this watch set up in just a couple of minutes.
Why can’t all Casio bracelet watches have the excellent link removal design that this watch has. I had mine adjusted to size within two minutes of opening the box. A great feature.
The watch looks much more classy than the Amazon picture shows. I always Google a watch model to look at the images as you get a nice selection to look at. The digital display is small but useful and it does not detract from the classy look of the watch face. The titanium finish is excellent as well as very light and tough!
The second hand hits the indices perfectly.
This is a nice looking sophisticated watch offering nearly every feature needed from a watch. Reliability, accuracy and service free means this should last for a very long time.

The user interface is not the easiest, but with 100s of functions and only 3 buttons, that’s no real surprise. Keep the manual, because you’re likely to need it if you cross time zones! It’s only because the user interface is hard work this gets less than 5 stars. In terms of build quality, timekeeping, functions, feel, look and value, it’s all there.

This is my third WaveCeptor Casio. They are so good my last one was stolen. This is the best yet as it’s solar powered, and the titanium construction makes it super light. In addition thenigth back light is an LED aat the 6 o, clock postion and illuminates thebwhole of the clock face. On mu 9ervios watches only the digital display illuminated snd, as I had that set for the date wasn’t bof any help so I had to rely on then fluorescent glow from the the hour and minute hands.
The new one is much better. It doesn’t illimuante the digital display, btu a tnight all you want to know is the time.

Perfection just got bette
This is my second Casio Wave Ceptor as I managed to break the wriststrap connecting to the casing on my old one. It has been fixed with an araldite bridge, so I now have 2 watches that stay fully charged and keep perfect time.
The new one has one less button and a simplified operating system – as gadgets go, this has so much functionality that if Samsung or Apple think a tablet on a strap makes any sense, they are mad.

For quite some time I had been considering the purchase of a radio controlled watch. Having read all the reviews, I decided that this was the model for me and I was certainly not disappointed. Delivery was prompt and the watch ticked all the boxes.
I did experience a bit of a problem at first in that the beeper was not functioning but securing a replacement form Amazon was simple, straightforward and quick. The replacement works perfectly.

I did experience a bit of a problem at first in that the beeper was not functioning but securing a replacement form Amazon was simple, straightforward and quick. The replacement works perfectly.

Casio Wave Ceptor 5161 Men's Watch
An excellent watch,comfortable to wear, and it’s many features put it in the same league as much more expensive makes.
It is very easy to adjust the wrist band with the tool supplied with the watch.
Good looking and correct time
Clean lines and easily read dial and display. Has the function I was looking for (world time). Always kept accurate by the radio-controlled timekeeping feature.

It arrived with the battery set as mid although it very quickly changed to Hi as soon as it was in the light.
I have not yet tried any of the special functions but the instruction book seems easy to follow

Everything you need in a watch
Time always correct with radio timer, battery always charged with solar power, easy to read day and date on digital display, easily adjustable strap, many other features plus good looking man,s watch with a blue face and easy to read silver hands. If only Casio had more cache.

This is an excellent watch. It looks very nice. Day and date easy to read. Easy as you like to set up and the way that you remove links is so simple, it makes you wonder why it hasn’t been thought of before? Really light in weight, you hardly know you are wearing it. Only down side is the grey plastic piece that just cheapens the look and feel of the watch a little. But overall, I am pleased as punch with it. A great buy. Also excellent quick delivery by Amazon. I love Casio wave-ceptor watches. This one is no different.
It looks great. Initial setup is a doddle, adjusting the chains of the wristband the easiest I have come across.
Even the backlight, which normally is not the strongest Casio feature is okay. But what makes it amazing is the weight. You do not even notice you are wearing it, and you do not have to take it off at the metal detectors at the airport.
Great watch
This is a beautiful watch. I was worried about the bracelot not fitting, my wrist is 9-10″, but it fitted perfectly. The features are great and I use them all especially the hourly alarm. The only concern I have is I wish the alarm beep was a bit louder. But saying that I highly recommend this watch.
Exactly what I hoped fo
I have an attractive Skagen watch for posh wear but wanted a radio controlled, solar powered, water resistant to 100 m. watch for general daily and beach use. Attracted by the reviews for this item, I can only reiterate what they say. It is much lighter than you would think (just 64 grams after very easily removing 4 links from the strap and only 5 grams more than the Skagen). The settings are easy to follow and the digital display plenty large enough. It came with a mid charge showing and 3 hours in the sun a couple of days after receiving it seems to have kept it at high level, even first thing in the morning. The only annoying thing is that, when prompted by Amazon to write a review I see that it is 5 cheaper than it was when I bought it last week! Still, no complaints as it is really good value.

As soon as I opened the tin inside the packaging it suddenly came to life, with the hands moving to the exact time and date.
The strap needed alteration, but that was made unbelievably easy and simple and quick with the little tool that was supplied. I have never known a strap to be so easy to alter.
The grey colour of the resin portion of the case is virtually invisible when being worn, so don’t let it put you off buying.
I am extremely pleased with my purchase and can recommend wholeheartedly.

Much better than the wva-430 it replaced. Slimmer profile, more elegant design, lighter weight and a backlight that works. Well worth the extra money if you are choosing between the two. Only small criticism is that the resin case has not been colour coated to match the Titanium finish. A bacward step in that one regard from the wva 430.
