We have a fat lazy cat, this cat flap does exactly what it says, we’ve only ordered a new one as had new patio doors fitted. Does exactly what it should, reasonably priced and speedy delivery.
This is a great cat flap, I installed it myself and was easy to do. The unit itself is sturdy and looks good, my cat can now come and go as he pleases and none of his friends can come in to snack on his food!

I installed one of these when I got my cats, some 15 years ago. With minimal maintenance, it’s proved very reliable. I’ve had a few minor issues, which I list below.
First, the collar-mounted magnets have an arrow on the top, which needs to face forwards. Failure to observe this left us with a flap which appeared to work sporadically after a couple of collar changes. Clearly an incorrectly oriented magnet can still operate the flap if the cat happens to get into just the right position, making it look like an intermittent problem. Easy problem to resolve, once identified.
One of my cats got a bit panicky when (intentionally) locked in. Perhaps he suspected the impending visit to the vet 🙂 Anyway, the outcome was that he tried to claw the flap open. He failed, but managed to tear half of the draught excluder off on such a way that I couldn’t refit it.
The flap release mechanism can get jammed up with muck, but it’s easy to clean out with the battery cover removed.
The only other problem is the occasional loss of a collar, which obviously leaves the cat stranded. This only ever happened to our more adventurous cat, and his noisy attempts to get back through the flap soon alerted us to the problem.
Whee never had any unwanted visitors through the flap and the 4-way lock has never failed to work, although I suspect a much stronger or heavier cat might manage to push the flap past the lock features.
Having just moved house, I won’t hesitate buy this brand again, though I may opt for the ID chip version this time.
Cat taking a while to get used to it, but easy to fit, no complaints
Exactly what we wanted fitted in 30mins we have a happy cat.
Bought about 2 months ago and working well. Our cats soon got the hang of it. Previously had one that was mechanical only ie no battery, but the mechanism seemed too delicate and it soon stopped working. But so far so good with this.

This replaced the identical model that failed after more than 12 years service so no complaints. I tried a micro chip reader type but it was poor and the cat struggled to work it so we went back to this one and it works very well.

We have had our flap for 2 years and it works great both of our cats go in and out with ease so don’t understand the negative comments.It is best to keep a supply of collars and magnets as they do lose them now and again.
Had one of these for over ten years and the electro magnet finally gave up after about a million ish uses. So l bought the same one as a direct replacement.

Works well, we have two cats who don’t generally lose their collars but when they did it was a bit of a challenge until we tracked them down. You can buy spare magnets. When our female cat lost hers she worked out how to get through without the collar by pressing something with her claw! Magnets are a bit of fun, don’t use metal food dishes and if your cat likes to explore a lot keep an eye on them several times caught them with teaspoons or screws hanging off their magnets! Never had another cat get in the house.

The only magnetic cat flap that seem to work. This is probably the third or fourth one I’ve had. I do tend to get through them quicker than perhaps I should, but then I’ve got three cats so they get plenty of use. Easy enough to fit with a jigsaw and a bit of patience. Do read the instructions though – first time I did and it makes it fit better!!

Great product but my stupid cat no can get the hang of it. If your cat is used to opening a flap with it’s paws then the magnet is too far away to operate the door. Perhaps mine will learn.

previously I had a petsafe catflap and it didn’t shut behind it. so I tried the cat mate brand and its amazing the door closes behind my cats every time, my bigger cat struggled at first with opening it but now she can do it really well. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has problems with a different brand of cat flap staying open. the electromagnetic has prevented the unwanted toms spraying in my house.

Happy cat! Wears a magnet on his collar to allow entry. Down side is if any neighbours have the same kind of cat flap their cats can get through too. My cat has often lost his collar and magnet and ended up locked out but this is no fault of the cat flap!
This cat flap was easily installed by a local handy man and the kittens have got used to it very quickly. It prevents other animals coming in as it is opened by the detection of the little magnets on their collars.

After being “adopted” by my niw gorgeous kitten I purchased this cat flap. Its brilliant design and the seevice from amazon is brilliant.
Ibought one a few years ago, unfortuneately the magnetic part gave up the ghost. We tried to repair it but couldn”t. Imay reorder another one.The first time our cat grsped how to go in and out using the magnet, she returned with half the contents of someones tool box hanging from the magnet, it all looked like a very trendy necklace.
This is the best cat flap I’ve had, you need to keep an eye on the battery though, or the cats think you’ve locked them out! Keeps out intruders (the cat variety).
This is a neat looking cat flap,the magnets are small and light so that my cats don’t see to notice it. It has solved the problem of a well-fed neighbouring cat snacking in our house at night! But be aware that there is no battery included so have one of those squarish ones ready.

It does exactly what it promised. Birba, who was used to passing through a normal door, learned really quickly and he never had problems with objects hanged on his leash, attracted by the magnet. ecently installed at our daughter’s for her 2 cats – brilliant. We have the same for our 3 cats – best invention ever.
The magnetic key tabs are small and inconspicuous, and provide moments of hilarity eg when a steel ruler got stuck on my cat’s collar.
All round a far superior product to the Staywell infra red, highly recommended.
Easily fitted. There are 4 settings to easily use to stop unwanted cat visitors but allows yours to come and go at will.
The goods arrived in superfast time, our cat Lyla loves it and it means we can keep unwelcome cats out, it doesn’t stop dead mice and birds from being dragged through mores the pity!
Good quality and stops other cats from getting in. Even an elderly cat has been able to work out how to use.
On the plus side Mr Pets sent a replacement within days and with help it was fitted it in about 10 mins. I have now returned the “faulty” flap only to find that the same thing has happened again.
Before I fitted the replacement I checked the design of the flap and found that the weakest point appeared to be where the flap hit the magnetic catch. I’m sure that the manufacturers could reinforce that area at little extra cost to ensure this could not be broken.
All in all a good product – but could be a great one!
bought for a cat left by my son which was very skittish and had urinated twice on my rug . when my son left it with us it was sleeping in our hut but we had to leave the door open but the cat flap has allowed it to go in and out as it pleases .and my hut is secure it got the hang of it within minutes and its loving the quiet and has settled into the hut great. easy to install and the magnets work great.
I gave this item 4 stars as the scews were not long enough so took longer to fit as had to find some longer ones. overall i was very pleased with it.
This cat flap was very easy to fit and closes perfectly each use. My elderly cats prefer it to their previous Staywell as they can see through it and the tunnel is easier for them to access. Aesthetically it ls much neater than the previous one and looks good in my new upvc door.

We had this cat flap at our previous house for over 8 years. Have recently bought it for our new house. Very happy with the fit and ease of use. Our cat learnt how to use it very quickly. Comes with a spare magnet incase they ever loose their collar.
Our cat soon mastered the collar and magnet and now seems to fly through it at a rate of knots.

Great product it now keeps out unwanted cats. I previously had just a magnetic one, but one neighbours cat kept head butting it until it got in. My neighbour bought it first and she was so pleased with it as she was having the same problem. So I instantly ordered it and wow it’s done the job. No more unwanted cats.

Purchased this cat flap because I have been feeding a stray with no home and he has now adopted me, AND lets himself in by head butting the LOCKED manual cat flap, so decided on this magnetic one after reading reviews of another make. This is much sturdier than the than the old one, (a leading brand, and although my cat had never worn a collar before she has has quickly become used to it, and after encouraging her, she now lets herself in regularly, BUT old Ginger Tom CANNOT get in anymore. Only one criticism, the screws provided seem to be for a door up to 24mm thick, my double glazed plastic door panel is 30mm thick, so had to search out some longer screws to enable fitting.
Overall very pleased with this product, but wished the spare magnets were a bit less expensive, will probably be getting some Staywell Magnets (much cheaper), after all a magnet is just a magnet, I also bought the Staywell collar for magnetic flaps, NO METAL involved, (the magnet tends to stick to the metal ‘D’ ring that is fitted to most collars). Very pleased with the products, would recommend. quick delivery also.

Good cat flap…does whAt i wanted keeping staYs out but as sensor is on edge it can be very sensitive if cat doesn’t open quick enough causing sensor to deactivate and cat scratching at doo
I have used this model of cat flap for 23yrs before on my old wooden door, so we did not hesitate on buying a new one when we moved home and bought new tough steel reinforced doors we had to get the manufacturer to fit the cat flap while making our new door. We have always had two cats, and even our kitten who rushes through the cat flap really fast manages to get her magnet to open the door every time. This cat flap is also drought proof. It gives you peace of mind that your cat can go out and in as it pleases and best of all you don’t need a litter tray any more. We have never had any neighboring cat come in our house with this cat flap, even when we stayed in our flat the next doors wee highland terrier used to try and get his head in the cat flap and the lock was still strong enough to keep him out. I would highly recommend this model.

I ordered this catflap to replace an old one, same make same model as before. The old one lasted years and years hopefully this one will too. My cats and I are very happy with it. The only problem I had was that the screws did not fit in the old holes as they were different sizes to before. Had to use old screws. it was only a miner setback and on the whole am very happy with this product. it was delivered before the due date and in perfect condition.
This is fine to keep other cats out, and the only problem is that catrs tend to ulose their collare with climbing trees, so it is necessary to buy spare magnets generally.
Allows the cat to come and go freely. Battery lasts for months. Only one problem, she brings in presents of live wildlife, if this isn’t a problem for you, it’s the best thing to give the cat and you independence.
Only lets in cats wearing the magnet. Had one before this is a replacement for one that broke. Does the job it’s meant to do

As my current catflap had broken (same type, 10 years old) I ordered the catflap to deter a neighbours dominant male from coming in and ‘ruling the roost’. The product arrived quickly, was easy to install (as it was the same size as the previous one) and ta da, no more unwelcome visitors and three happy resident cats!

only one fault had a broken hinge lug on the door damaged in transit
called the supply Company who sent a new flap by first class post which
was delivered by lunch time the neat day.
Now you could not fault that. It is what I would call 100 percent super service.
The magnets are not cumbersome and fit on her collar nicely and she hasn’t got anything stuck to it yet (read horror stories of cats getting forks and other large metal implements stuck to them!).
I also like the fact that when it was installed into our double glazed back door that it looks really neat and you hardly notice it is there.
