Dog walking shoes
They fit well and keep my feet dry through the morning dew. My second pair of Columbia shoes and seem as good quality as the others and they lasted 2 years of being worn most days in all weather.
Update – haven’t been waterproof for the last month. Disappointing.

The shoes are great, really waterproof.
They don’t protect you from the cold when it is below -5 C, as another Columbia shoes I have, but it is not part of its features.

Outdry, il vero impermeabile traspirante!!
Ho gi degli stivali da moto con membrana Outdry ed ho scelto queste Columbia a colpo sicuro. Membrana Outdry poco nota (Azienda Italiana di Busto Arsizio) ma molto efficace, il piede respira e rimane asciutto.
Unica nota a scarpa nuova, nella camminata, la membrana un po’ rumorosa (effetto stivale di gomma che scricchiola nel piegarsi) ma per 80 ho una scarpa comodissima, di qualit e che tratta bene i mie piedi!

Great fit, pleased that they’re not tight across my fairly wide feet. Not leaked a drop and I’ve stood in a flowing stream to wash off mud from a winter woodland walk.

Anteriormente mi pareja habia comprado este modelo en mujer y dadas sus buenas palabras me anime a comprar unas para mi.
Tras varias caminatas con ellas mis sensaciones son positivas:
Son muy cmodas y ligeras.
Son aptas tanto para montaa como asfalto, tambin las uso para pasear al perro en los das de lluvia.
Aunque su punto mas fuerte es que son 100% impermeables, y como la lengeta esta unida al empeine no hay posibilidad de que entre agua cuando caminas.
En cuanto al tallaje, en mi caso tuve que pedir medio nmero menos del habitual dado que sino se me salian al andar.
Light and Versatile
I use these shoes for walking, hiking and casual daily wear. It works well for all of these things. It’s very comfortable although not quite as comfortable as the ‘Columbia Peakfreak X2 Mid Outdry’ (the larger, mid version) which feels like walking on a soft carpet (incredibly comfortable).
These shoes are light and waterproof. The waterproof ability works well, it’s really nice to be able to walk through snow and rain and feel totally protected. They breathe well too in my opinion, better than other hiking shoes I’ve had that claim to breathe well but end up being really sweaty. All in all I’m happy with these shoes, feel I’ve made the right choice and would definitely recommend them. They’re still new though and I’m curious about how long they will last. I give it 4,5 stars (which isn’t an option that’s possible in a Amazon) because 5 stars just seems too enthusiastic and I rarely do tha

Me compre unas terrebone tambin , es ms o menos la misma resea.(adjunto foto)
Las acabo de estrenar en la nieve y no hay pega que ponerle a estas zapatillas. Ni resbalan, pies cmodos y calientes, ni un problema con el aislamiento del calzado a pesar de ser bajo.
Se ajustan perfectamente, dando igual que calcetines lleves.

its a good quality outdoor shoe, I use it for daily use commuting, if I have one issue its that it can get slippy on wet pats depending on the surface. The grips aren’t very deep too so I dont expect it to last very long and it get clogged up very easliy on muddy ground

A fantastic walking shoe. Delivered quickly and they are so comfortable. They fit as expected, I have wide feet but they were absolutely fine at my normal size.
La zapatilla es muy completa. Hablo sin probarla , pues no era mi talla. Se ven Fuertes, con buenas costuras. Una puntera reforzada para las rozaduras con las piedras, membrana impermeable y suela antideslizante.
Pero cuidado con la talla. Pone que es una 45, en mi caso, pero las tallas de otros pases (UK 11, USA 12) no coinciden con un 45 EU. Es decir, son ms grandes, este 45 sera un 46 realmente.

Great walking shoe replacement for the older Peakfreak XCRSN Ii Xcel Low Outdry
I bought these on Amazon in June 2020 to replace an old and aging pair of Columbia Peakfreak XCRSN Ii Xcel Low Outdry walking shoes that have travelled wide and far with me… and finally needed replacing.
I could not find a new pair of Peakfreak XCRSN Ii Xcel Low Outdry shoes in a decent colour. On my searches on Amanzon and the Columbia website, this Peakfreak X2 Outdry model came up… in a great colour (for me) and in my size. The price at the time was also great compared to the Columbia website, and then add the Amazon Prime free delivery at the time. Great deal!
The walking shoe had all the features, weather proofing, grip and comfort I wanted with that trainer look that my old ones didn’t have (looked more technical). The size and fit was a tiny bit smaller than my old Peakfreak X2 Outdry shoes. Replacing the rubbish insoles with proper after-market ortho comfort ones (layered) in the same fashion I had with my old ones resulted in a slightly tighter fit. I removed a layer to get a better proper fit… so all was good and still comfortable!
I’ve had them since June 2020 and I am enjoying them for walks that are less demanding than the need for boots but require more than just trainers (i.e. grip)… especially in bad rainy weather. Outdry is just as good as Gore-tex!
One thing to get used too… the shoe laces are the flat type that come with trainers, and not tube like ones normally associated with walking shoes and hiking boots. So far, I’ve gotten used to this style of laces with the shoes, but I prefer the tube style ones for a walking shoe. It’s not a negative as the laces work… more of a preference.
I highly recommend them as a walking shoe and as a better looking alternative to the sister model – the Peakfreak XCRSN Ii Xcel Low Outdry.

The perfect outdoor shoe!
After breaking my ankle and having metalwork screwed into my leg, I found wearing walking boots too uncomfortable. These are the perfect alternative. I’ve worn them through all the standard winter conditions – ice, rain, snow, mud and a sludgy combination of all the above – and they have kept my feet warm and dry throughout. I haven’t found footwear with this level of water resistance before, and they light and comfortable, but firm enough to deal with rugged trails too. Well worth the money – I fully intend to buy another pair in a different colour, too.

These are 1/2 a size to a size to big (I’m always a 9uk and I got 8.5uk in the end and they are still slightly on the large side).
Very water-proof and fairly comfortable with not much arch support. I’ve put in a pair of Superfeet innersoles and they are now fine.

Comfortable from the first wearing
Long walks. My son in law said the fit is perfect and they are warm and super comfortable. Really appreciated the fact that they are waterproof as advertised. Highly recommended!
Son bonitas y parecen resistentes, pero son algo incomodas al principio. Hay otros modelos de la marca que te los pones y son un guante, estas creo que hay que esperar, as que editar si cambia a mejor o a peor (espero que no).
Great walking shoe, Comfy, warm and waterproof
Used these pretty much everyday since purchased. I’m a size 9, wide foot and these have been great on 10mile+walks and feet have always been warm and dry. Perform better than more expensive shoes I have tried and sent back.

Dopo varie uscite direi quello che mi aspettavo, comoda e resistente.
Calzano un po' grandi: mezzo num in piú di Nike.
Calzano leggermente grandi, circa mezzo numero in pi rispetto a Nike. Nel mio caso quel mezzo numero in pi stato utile per fare si che il piede in discesa non scivoli in avanti toccando la punta, cosa che con le scarpe da escursionismo non deve succedere e che col numero immediatamente pi piccolo mi succedeva.
La membrana impermeabile non compromette la flessibilit della scarpe che mantengono anche una buona traspirabilit.
Avendole pagate 52 euro non posso dare meno di 5 stelle.

Per chi cerca una scarpa da usare quando c’ molto bagnato, impermeabile al 100%, comode anche se forse la suola potrebbe essere pi morbida per l’uso su terreni accidentati, per la misura meglio prendere almeno mezzo numero in pi.

Remember that only below the lace portion is completely waterproof. When moisture reaches above the laces, you can feel water slowly percolating -- around 5 minutes of that and your socks will get wet. Good to jump over puddles or navigate slush, but if your treks involve extensive submersion in water best to go for boots/gaiters.

Decent shoe Good value for money
Bought these for walking the dogs. Was after something waterproof with a decent grip.The shoe offers both. Pretty comfortable straight out the box .Generous sizing definitely no need to size up.
For the purpose I use them for iam happy with these shoes . I would question their effectiveness in tougher terrain. Ankle support may be an issue.

Zapatillas ligeras y polivalentes
Suele pasar que la primera opinion es precipitada dado el escaso uso inicial. Mi experiencia con Columbia suele ser satisfactoria. Y solo puedo indicar que las zapatillas resultan comodas y esteticamente adecuadas, incluso para un uso “fuera de pista” dada su estetica. Al menos las de color verde militar que he adquirido.

Title says it all really.
These are really comfy and they actually look ok until you see you outer side of the shoe (where is says ‘Columbia’ in awful, huge letters). That side of the shoe is basically all plastic, hard to the touch, and cheap looking.
Columbia walking shoes are all terrible to look at these days.
So – if you are over 70 and want some basic waterproof trainers for tame walks, and you don’t care about branding or style, these will be pretty good! If you are anything else, just cover your eyes and you can enjoy them

Per quanto riguarda la spedizione, tutto ottimo e puntuale. Venendo al prodotto, le scarpe sono molto comode, danno la sensazione di avere il piede molto avvolto ma il senso di “stretto” svanisce dopo 2/3 utilizzi. Testata su sterrato, sentieri di montagna e su neve ed hanno un’ottima tenuta; inoltre, dopo 12 km nella neve fresca, il piede era ancora caldo e asciutto. Prezzo a mio avviso ottimo. Mi riservo di modificare la recensione relativamente alla tenuta nel lungo periodo delle scarpe. Per ora, molto soddisfatta!

Habe immer Gr. 43, so auch hier ! Der Schuh sieht stylisch aus und ist echt wasserdicht, nach dem Schneeschippen bei starkem Schneefall letzte Woche war ich patschnass, aber die Fe trocken 🙂 Ich kann den Schuh sehr empfehle

Purchased size 10 as went one size up due to walking socks but too large so easily exchanged on Amazon to size 9.5. Usually a 9. Columbia peakfreak x2 quality construction, excellent grip and definitely waterproof. Thick sole and holds foot and ankle well. Used bridgedale walking socks.

Die Schuhe sind ok, wenn doch man kalte Fe bekommt wenn es draussen nasskalt ist. Habe sie zum Trekking angezogen und war verwundert dass man kalte Fsse bekommen hatte weil sie sehr dick aussehen!
Light but wide
I like Columbia shoes and was looking for a replacement. These fit quite large and really wide and I have wide feet. Shoes were gaping around the ankle to had to return.

Outstanding walking shoes
I’ve had these for about 3 months now, and walked in them on a variety of different surfaces. They are super comfy, possibly the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned and I’ve tried many outdoor and sports brands. I consider myself an average foot size. They grip excellently on every surface I’ve tried so far, although I haven’t tried wet rock yet. I coated them in waterproof wax spray when I first got them, and they are impervious to water. I even splashed around in a downpour to test them, the rest of me got soaked but my feet stayed dry. They do get a little hot in very warm weather (25C+), but they feel like they should be good throughout winter. These are year round shoes. They are so good I’m thinking of getting a second pair of a different colour. I got the sage green ones and I’m happy with the design. Time will tell how long they last, I had a hole develop in a previous pair of Columbias but they lasted 5 years so not bad. Just get them, they are worth more than they are currently charging.
J’ai achet ses chaussures pour faire de la randonne et elles sont extrmement confortable! On a l’impression de marcher sur un nuage.
Le seul dfaut c’est qu’elles tiennent trs chaud et donc en t ca peut tre gnant. D’un autre ct elles sont compltement impermables et vous aurez les pieds toujours au sec.
Disclaimer: I’ve been using these shoes to walk the dog and do some gentle trail hiking in the New Forest, so nothing overly demanding or adventurous.
I’ve found these shoes to be extremely comfortable on all surfaces (and completely waterproof). I was originally a bit wary about buying shoes for hiking without ankle support but I’ve felt secure in these and had no problems at all. Nicely lightweight and comfortable.

Build Quality seems good, but yet to test the waterproofing.

Feels like a good all round walking shoe
Only wore once so far but nice room in the shoe and I’m optimistic when wearing thicker socks that this extra room will be filled.
Appear pretty sturdy but only time will tell and what terrain I eventually test them on. Confident they’ll handle the Scottish hills though.

Bequem, passt perfekt, Gre ist wie angegeben. Mir ist bei Alltagsschuhen wichtig, dass sie wasserdicht sind und dass man trotzdem nicht drin schwitzt, das funktioniert mit dem OutDry-System von Columbia sehr gut. So hat man immer trockene Fe. 🙂
Compr estas botas ya que antes tuve unas Columbia Vapor Vent que me salieron de maravilla. 3 aos dndoles mucho uso y lo nico que se gast fue la suela. Ahora las tengo pendientes de llevar a resolar, porque la parte superior est impecable.
Estas espero que me salgan igual de duraderas. La espuma techlite es blanda y confortable. Tienen unos buenos tacos en la suela que dan mucho agarre y el sistema outdry las hace (NO) perfectamente impermeables (NO). No son un calzado de verano como las Vapor Vent y, al ser impermeables, los pis se recalientan bastante ms.
Edito: despus de unos cuantos meses de uso, en general estoy contento con ellos. La suela se ha gastado muy poco para el uso que les he dado, pero ahora que empez la poca de lluvia, estoy algo decepcionado con la impermeabilidad: si bien por la parte superior y laterales no cogen agua, en los laterales de la parte delantera -justo donde dobla el pi y aparecen los tpicos pliegues en el tejido- entra un poco de agua. Supongo que es debido a que la membrana outdry dobla y cuartea de alguna forma, pero no debera hacerlo. En fin… habr que probar algn tipo de spray o pasta impermeabilizante…
Supportive and lightweigh
I only do trail walking and the weather has been dry since I bought them, so not sure how weatherproof they are yet. Comfortable, supportive and lightweight though. Hopefully a good purchase.

Super Leichtwanderschuh
Leute, wer heutzutage noch auf die klassischen und meist schweren Wanderschuhen schwrt, sollte mal diese federleichten und gut gepolsterten Leichtwanderschuhe ausprobieren. Mich jedenfalls haben sie seit mehreren Wochen berzeugt! Das Tragegefhl und der Grip sind einfach Klasse! Die Gre passt genau – man muss nicht, wie bei vielen anderen Marken, eine Nummer (oder mehr) grer bestellen.
Tras un par de rutas con este calzado he de decir que estoy muy contento. Pesan poco, la suela es fuerte pero a la vez acolchada y con una plantilla que hace que no se te cargue el pie. La impermeabilidad funcina muy bien. Lo unico que no me gusta mucho es que parece un material muy aspero y rigido el del tejido lateral y el material no da la sensacin de ser el mejor; aunque si a las pruebas me remito si que lo es, es simplemente la sensacin que da. Si es para hacer rutas y salirte un poco del camino las recomiendo, ya que tienen un precio justo por lo que ofrecen. Resumiendo, muy comodas, impermeables y buen agarre al terreno

Kann man nur empfehlen. Passform, Sohlengripp und Laufgefhl hervorragend. Sohle knnte noch etwas mehr Biegung vertragen damit das runde Ablaufen noch etwas besser wre.
Quality Hiking Foot Wea
These are a very nice pair of shoes but alas they don’t fit me (I suspected they may not).
I note they are described as boots but in my opinion they are more like a shoe.
They seem well made but I note the shoes are not very flexible but the bottom soles look nice and tough with a good tread pattern.
I am very tempted to order a pair more suited to my size.
Straight out of box these look like a pair of well made trainers although much more robust. Beautifully made and designed they are easy on the eye.
Having read reviews on this make and being familiar with sizing these were for a UK size 8, coming in smaller than usual I felt the Half size bigger would be perfect fit and they are.
The sole of boot is multi terrain and seems fit for purpose they grip well on shale, rock and even slippy grassy moss surface. Worn in the rain they are or appear waterproof, they are referred to as high rise which I feel misleading to be frank, the fit like a trainer leaving your ankles open to elements, and offering not additional support there whatsoever for which I have taken a star away. I would call them a leisure shoe, or walking shoe not hiking. Without a pair of trusty gaiters to cover the lower region of your legs you feet would get soaked through the opening of the shoe.
For a hill walk, our country walk these are fine they have a comfortable foot bed and feel sturdy and well supporting in that arena.
They look nice and you can easily transition from walking in the country to walking around a village and still look good. For mountain or serious hiking I prefer a boot which finishes above the ankle, as they give support and they do keep feet dry without needing gaiters.
Fit wise these are a narrow foot bed and feel slightly smaller than the usual UK size. I would size up half a size.
All in all a very good addition for the casual or more serious walke
Worth Every Penny
First observation, these are not ‘boots’ as the description says but are in fact trainers.
Not a huge issue for me but for hiking through rugged terrain i’m sure many may prefer ankle boots just for the extra protection from brambles, etc
The trainers fit like a glove and although I only put them to the test with a brief couple of miles or so they didn’t cause any blisters or need any ‘breaking in’.
Admittedly, during the recent hot weather there wasn’t much chance for me to test their waterproof capabilities to their fullest but I did try to deliberately splash through a few streams and the claims seemed to hold up.
They are pricey but they also seem pretty rugged and i’m pretty happy with them
First class but a bit over-priced
My initial thoughts here are around the price. I think these are mega expensive considering there are some really decent manufacturers out there who have a product of equal quality at a much lower price. For that reason, and that alone, I docked a star off and made the review four stars. My only other questionable observation is that these are called High Rise Hiking Boots, but they’re actually shoes. They’re certainly a step up from trainers but they are not boots, more like walking shoes.
However, the shoes are a great quality and very comfortable. The size I have is 8.5 and they fit perfectly. The soles look solid and well patterned and they are comfortable and cushioning when walking or running. The fabric looks good and the stitching is also high quality. I found them very supportive all round. I think they are pretty well water-proof but that doesn’t mean you can cross rivers. I walked through some very wet grass and soaked the outside of the shoes but my socks were dry when I took the shoes off. All round pretty good. It’s just the price that I don’t like.
Columbia low slung 'Peakfreak' walking trainers.
I received these yesterday and took them out that afternoon for a good workout. Covering 5K of old rail tracks, a scramble up limestone cliffs, a trek through a wet nature reserve ending with some road walking. Overall I was quite pleased with them. For years I have bought size 8 shoes and boots even though my left foot is actually 8.5. My theory is that footwear normally strectches with wear. However, after buying some really uncomfortable footwear in recent years-the worst of which was a 80 pair of Brasher low slung leather walking boots which are so uncomfortable and clumpy that I can’t wear them anymore- I’ve finally decided that I really do need to buy 8.5 in future. This has been born out by some Merrell boots in 8.5 which have been brilliantly comfortable.
But to get to these Columbia trainers. I wouldn’t call them boots as the makers do, as boots to be are..well…boots! In appearence they look like a lightweight pair of approach shoes. Black and grey and a bit cheap looking in their plastic and artificial fabric construction. However, when you put them on, they are comfortable enough and very light. The makers advise that they are completely waterproof. That did seem to be the case for most of the walk although I did notice my socks were wet when I took them off. That could have be because of the soaking wet ferns I walked through at one stage soaking my pants and getting down to my socks? I’ll need to see how they cope with walking through wet terrain on a dry day.
At the end of my walk I did notice that my feet felt a tad cramped but then to be fair, I have fairly broad feet and most people with normal feet width wouldn’t notice.
So…I’m not sure if I’ll be using these for serious mountain walks but for low level stuff with the dog…moors, forests, coastal paths etc, I’m sure they’ll be fine.
