I gave this product 5 stars. The printer was easy to assemble and plenty of helpful instructional videos available on YouTube. I didn’t have to level the print bed or adjust any other part of the printer. The printer had a heated bed and a magnetic sheet. Once I had the printer loaded with PLA there is an option of preheating the PLA. The temperature at the extruder and print bed reached operational parameters and then I started to print my 3D model. The print job took about one hour and the end result can be viewed in the photo I attached. I detached the magnetic sheet and peeled off the model. Overall I am very happy with its operation and print quality. The software for the printer is included on a mini usb stick that contains a micro 8 Gb SD Card. Once the printer software is loaded on the pc, stl files can be opened and their size can be manipulated further, when satisfied it can be saved and it will create the GCode for the printer. I found this procedure very easy to perform. I am very happy with my printer and I will recommend this product to my friends.
Neuen bestellt, kaputten retourniert.
Und nun zum wesentlichen:

Hervorragender drucker zu einem spitzen Preis…
Top Empfehlung
I have nothing to compare this to, as it is my first 3D printer. Pretty straightforward to assemble, and has been reliable so far. I would recommend watching/reading a setup guide. I didn’t, and ruined my print surface!!! It’s a good job the parts are readily available and reasonably priced.
So I’m totally new to 3D printing
The hardest thing to master in my opinion is which ever software you decide to use to create models.
The printer itself is straightforward easy to build just follow the instructions.
I’ve shown 3 different prints to give you an idea on print quality an the different types of use as you can see I built a custom spice rack to match my kitchen.
And then you have a business card holder for a friend who owns a pet business. An last the ghostbusters sign for my brother.
I’d definitely recommend this printe
Best entry-level printer for beginners who are totally new, the Creality Ender 3 is simple to set up and get running. It is sturdily made and I’m not nervous about any fragile parts breaking with wear and tear. If you’re curious about getting started in 3D printing then this is perhaps the best and most cost-effective option!
The 3D Ender Pro has been a joy from the beginning. It arrived nicely boxed and ready to be assembled. All parts were well labelled and the pictorial instructions were reasonably clear. Assembly took a good few hours and was fun to do. 3D printing is a good hobby and great for designing parts for use around the house and with the aid of much free software is fun and educational.
As a newbie in printing I find this printer quite accurate. Not very simple to assemble, but not to hard either.
Very impressed with this product! Fairly simple to assemble and creates a great print for an inexpensive purchase. Definitely the best choice when stepping into the 3D world!!!
Best printer I’ve every bought. The community for this thing and the mods and customisation IS HUGE. If you have questions or problems, there are so many people on Facebook in groups to help and it’ll all work out. If you new, you’ll need a bit of patience and willingness to learn how it works properly, but it WORTH IT.
Look carefully at more expensive printers as I have spent another 150 on upgrades to make it more use able. If you just want a basic machine this is the one for you.
Simply put, this is the best value printer. Good price, great print quality, and fairly easy to set up and maintain. I have had a few small issues after many hours of printing. Make sure you level your bed often and clean out the hot end whenever the material is clicking on the extruder.
I have printed many successful prints and the projects I do get bigger and crazier as time goes. Highly recommended for those willing to take some time to learn and troubleshoot with a 3d printer.
Once it was leveled such a breeze to use. Such a great purchase started printing the official Orlog board game from Assassins creed valhalla will take a while and a lot of material however details totally worth it. Also going to paint this weekend.
Might update post once painted.
After an hour assembling the printer at last set of plugging in all harnesses come to find wiring to short as its been crushed by their assembly .
I was very disappointed but a representative from Congrow contacted me about keeping printer, I was upset at time and just wanted another printer…
So I’m keeping printer waiting on new harness and given a an upgrade and roll PLA ..They were very helpful..
imballo protetto e sicuro.
consiglio acquisto
It’s absolutely amazing and definetly best value for money and great quality. The only issue which actually infuriates me is the bed levelling. This model doesn’t come with autobed levelling meaning every know and then you have to attempt to manually level the bed for half an hour or more. There is a device called a BL Touch which costs over $100 and can be added as a custom mod to introduce bed leveling if you have the extra cash but I do not. If you do, then there is only one official supplier in Australia i believe, there are alot of fakes so be careful. (The BL Touch supplier is called Aurora I believe.
This could be a great machine but as others have outlined the lack of instructions and the wide variety of tips on the internet only serve to confuse.
Firstly, well built, robust and excellent value. The sum of the parts would be considerably more than the cost of the whole, so, great value.
But, trying to get results out of the box demands great patience and lots of research.
Essentially the manufacturer fails completely to deliver any reasonable methods of working. Too much on the internet appears simple to follow but is contradictory as there are different models and different solutions.
So. We have upgraded the machine with stronger bed springs and levelling wheels and a BL Touch auto levelling add-on. BUT, even this was unnecessarily complicated by Creality’s terrible lack of instructions. BL Touch is sold without reference to the fact that the circuit board revision number is critical. You only discover that when removing the cover under the machine. So, the latest version (4.2.2) needs a specific model of the BLTouch.
Overall verdict? A fascinating, cheap and versatile machine hampered by appalling support and contradictory advice from other users.
Recommended with a large helping of patience, research and diligent attention to detail.
Our machine now prints really well and is proving a great investment. Be prepared for disappointment and discovery – and the need to invest in add-ons
After some back and forth the seller was very helpful in getting the printer up and running. We had issues with it but they got fully resolved by the seller.
I purchased this printer because I wanted to get into 3d printing considering all the cool things you can make with it. I decided getting this printer after seeing all the high reviews it had and I don’t regret it. This printer is fairly beginner friendly and the assembly wasn’t too difficult, I did have to watch some videos online but because this printer is quite popular I was able to easily get help. Additionally setting/leveling the bed was a little difficult but after I set it correctly it was great! My prints came out nice and I love the endless ways you can upgrade this printer. Additionally the fact that it has open source code is really cool allowing you to improve your overall experience.
great beginning printer. but do not follow printed instructions. Grab a youtube video let them walk ya through. or you might accidently pinch cords, or strain certain parts which may break otherwise grea
My son loves it easy to use and quite quiet fast to print and worth the money
I own 3 printers. Two are Ender 3’s. They run really well, however on one of my Enders the screen is a little bit laggy and also I installed the Z axis limit switch too low so the first time I set up a print, the nozzle burnt a hole in the magnetic mat and dented the bed.
It’s okay now, though. I had another magnetic mat because my Ender 5 came with a glass bed that I use instead of the magnetic mat.
If you’re looking for a beginner printer, I do recommend either one. Maybe the 5 is easier to set up for a beginner while you learn everything because you only need to install the Z axis on the 5 and on the 3 you need to install the X and Z axis.
Superb value for money. Bought as a present for my son. He set it up in an hour or so. A slight levelling issue but as expected. He watched the videos recommended by the seller and solved initial print problems easily. Fairly quiet when running, small footprint. Could not ask for more at this price point.
It’s great. First printer and working well, after replacing the bed with glass and a few printed upgrades.
Drucker lt.
Exzellentes Preis-Leistungs Verhltnis. Ich bin sehr zufrieden.
After I bought this I knew I made the right decision when I saw the wealth of content available on how to use it. In 2020, 3D printing is still not at all straightforward, and you have to love tinkering and trying different things until you get good results. This is one of the most popular printers in the world, and there is a wealth of information available on it to help with any problem. It produces excellent prints and is compatible with a lot of slicing software.
If I had to make a complaint, I would have to say it it does have problems with bed adhesion sometimes. It is difficult to keep the bed level, and even if it is perfect, there is no guarantee that what you print will stick to it. But this is a common problem among 3d printers, and fortunately you can spot this early in a print and try one of many remedies. You should order the stronger yellow replacement bed springs along with this to help with the leveling issues.
Excellent machine , printed well out of the box but once you added the upgrades it’s even better. Looked at the prusa but for the money it’s a stupid purchase . This thing is excellent .
Building this now !!!!!Fast shipping !!!! Wow …..packaged so well ! The foam had layers with parts in between !!! You know your old when you appreciate how carefully stuff is packed !! All jokes aside …fast shipping , and extremely well packaged (I’ve mentioned earlier) haha….. I’m building it as we speak so I’ll post when I print the tugboat ! Deeeaddddlyyyyy!!!!!
I have bought this for my grandson. It took a while to set up but he is now pleased with i
Stampante arrivata montata in 10 minuti e poi stampato alla grande….
Stampante fantastica
Perfect. My boyfriend is very happy with the product. Its very sturdy. Instructions are not 100% clear but thats what we have youtube for lolll.
Also very good for beginners and has alot of upgrades available. I would recommend this product.
So easy to setup and get going. Roughly 45-min setup time. Not perfect though. Bed springs are very soft so be prepared to level everytime you want to print. Other than that great price and really good quality prints.
Amazing equipment for the price. Easy to set up and use.
This printer is honestly great, my rating for it has nothing to do with its functionality as a 3d printer as it has excelled my expectations in this respect. My reason for 4 stars rather than 5 was due to the fact that creality in this particular model (with the upgraded V2 board) decided to glue the display port and several other ports into the 4.2.2 board, so you can imagine the fun I had when I found out I had to remove them in what should be a simple process to fit a bltouch for ABL.
I got lucky and managed not to damage the board removing the glue from around the plugs but some blobs remain on contacts that I pray ill never need! I will be complaining to Creality about this but it should be a light warning to others who buy this model that you may face the same.
This is a useful device, full of potential to revolutionise how we think about the things we use and make.
I made a willy!
Yes, it’s a grown up device, but I also enjoy being childish.
It’s easy to assemble, easy to use, and fun.
You will want to purchase additional filament; there isn’t much with it, but more than enough to get you started for a day or two.
Feels very professional, sturdy and secure.
Slicer software came with it, too!
Followed a tutorial on YT to put together….printed a few pieces since, patience is needed, but overall happy with it.
Once set up, which was easy ish using video on YouTube, works like a dream right off the bat. Worth spending the time setting up correctly, I spent 6 hours thinking frame was misaligned when it was 2 bolts on threaded bar that needed to be loosened slightly and raised a couple of mm. Nothing was obvious that, that was causing the problem so perseverance paid off in the end… overall, a really nice printer! Very happy with print quality and that’s without modifications…
After some adjustments and a few youtube videos it prints very well!
This printer has been a great product so far. I guess as far as 3D printers go, this would be considered an adequate one for beginners, but as someone who was completely new to 3D printing, it was a bit of a struggle for me at first. Assembling it was not very difficult (but I consider myself quite tech savvy), but don’t expect the instructions that come with the manual to be overly helpful or explanatory. It’s probably best to look up a few youtube tutorials for help. Once you get going, and have figured out the printer, it’s a great machine! Prints fairly consistently, and I have been able to troubleshoot it whenever an issue happened.
An unbelievable printer for beginners and with a few mods for advanced users.
Fantastic prints right out of the box.
Add the latest version of Cura and you’re off to the races.
Does a great job of flexibles too.
Very quite and smooth machine. Probably one of the best on the market for the price. Perfect for beginners
Print was good quality coming out once bed was levelled.
Lost a star due to main board failing 6days after I received it, amazon refunded no problem
Great product apart from the failure
Good value for money. Its my first 3D printer and I’m loving it !
Great printer, takes some setting up but when you get it right it works well. I would recommend the bed levelling upgraded wheels as the springs are too weak to hold the stability.
I read the reviews and watched the YouTube video. I figured I understood what need to be upgraded and I was happy to engage with the Ender 3 Pro ecosystem. I bought it for a good price, it arrived well packed, and the instructions and assembly were quite straight forward.
The first time I used it the Y axis would adjust. Turned out to be a broken Y axis micro switch. I order a replacement off eBay for $8. I also went to my local Jaycar (electrical components retailer) and bout a micro switch. It was a trivial fix to unscrew and then cut the legs of the existing micro switch and then to screw and solder the new one.
Despite the initial setback and the apparent poor quality of at least one micro switch,. I am very happy with the 3D printer. Getting the bed dialled in was a bit of effort, but I figure that I better understand the printer now. I would really like to see auto bed levelling on this machine. It would make it so much easier to set up and use.
The broken micro switch highlights an obvious deficiency of the Amazon purchase and support model. I could have returned the printer, but that seemed ridiculous for a small part. How else do I get support from the supplier. How does the Amazon support model work?
I’m ultimately happy, but it has required a lot of patience. I would buy again.
It’s been working very well for the first couple of weeks since I’ve bought it, sadly the SD card reader on the printer has stopped working so i have to resort to printing directly from my PC, and made it really loud for printing since I’m having to sit next to it at my pc when it’s printing.
Edit: 5/5 got a replacement part after a while, great customer service.
This is my first 3D printer and am very impressed with the build quality and ease of use. Have added a Bltouch auto bed levelling sensor which has taken the printer to a whole new level. If you are new to 3D printing, like me, I would highly recommend this machine as there is a massive modding community out there to help and guide you through any issues you may have.
This is a fantastic machine. Even with limited skill I was able to build, set up and start printing within hours of having it delivered. Calibration of the bed after looking up a quick tutorial was simple and the cura software that comes with it is very straight forward and easy to use. Make sure if you buy it though to purchase another filament spool with it as the printer only comes with a small sample.
So far its been great! I added the capricon tube and feeder upgrade. My prints are wonderfull and the machine is working flawlessly.
This product is awesome. Amazing price for the quality and ease of use.
I’m just starting with 3D printing but we got everything going in a couple hours.
Software was very simple UI and made sense. Thanks Creality!
Great entry level 3d printer.
It can grow with you as you learn more about printing. Highly customizable. Upgrades are affordable and easy to come by.
Great support community online.
There is a learning curve to all things 3d printing so manage your expectations accordingly. Worthy upgrades- SKR mini e3 v2 motherboard, 3d touch, biqu steel sheet build surface, yellow bed springs, metal extruder. You can print the rest.
We did some research before purchasing and the expectation was that this would be a good introduction to 3D printing at an affordable price and found this to be accurate. There are a number of resources and videos on the internet that explain assembly and configuration of the Ender 3 Pro. These videos and resources seem to be getting somewhat dated as our experience with assembly and calibration was that the printer was far more ready to print out of the box than what we expected. Be aware that there is an assembly process and we did manually level the horizontal crossbar but other than that the guides were all tight and there was no loose movement at all in the unit. The prints are as good as any prints we have seen for a printer of this price range. Very happy after a month of use using PLA filament.
My background is industrial mechanic. Setting this up was easy with some youtube video primers. After tramming (Levelling) the bed after setup, the above image is my 1st Benchy, scaled down for a 16 min print. Other prints have been great. No plugs or other problems. The issues you may get have more to do with bed deformity (Dishing) and temps of the bed and nozzle. The machine itself in my opinion is very good for its price. Worth the purchase 100%
The best printer on the market for the money in my opinion Take the time to set it up properly by watching some videos and it will print perfectly out of the box I like mine so much I bought a second and turned it into a direct-drive for soft materials
You cant have enough of those for the price.. super precise, easy to use and custom!
Only quality materials, easy to assemble compare to a good old prusa.. The seller is fast to ship and overall a nice person to deal with. I recommend this kit if your new to 3dprinting, even if your a vet you should consider…
I was truly impressed with the out-of-the-box print quality on this machine. It has a few design issues, but nothing that makes it unusable, and for the price it’s very hard to complain.
So far I’ve only used PLA and PETG, but they’ve both printed without any issues, and aside from a single spool of a single brand, print quality has been amazing for an entry-level printer.
However I have to mention a few issues I ran into. A missing screw during assembly. End-stops that had to be physically modified to fit and allow me to have enough play with bed level. Top-mounted spool holder that was sometimes “jamming” while trying to get into the extruder… I find it fun to mess around with so far, and it that sounds like you, well I wholeheartedly recommend buying one.
I recently bought a ender 3 pro from this seller . I assemble the printer just fine today. And I started printing and I notice the hot-end was leaking bad after 15m it was making a mess I tried allot of stuff online just to see if it would help and nothing worked I check to make sure the tube was all the way in and I seems like I received a hot-end that has a defect in it. Here’s some picture
I’m trying to get a hold of the seller.
2 days Later I receive good support and 1 week and a half later got the replacement part for my ender 3.
This printer is now printing very good, Tested with PLA and PETG Thank u looking forward to buy from this seller again.
This is my first 3d printer and it was easy to assemble and play around with it! Also the customer service by Comgrow was perfect, they replied right away when I needed help. Highly recommend this printer!
My first printer came and failed within 12 hours. Returned with usual Amazon efficiency, I had a second 1 a day after return. This has swallowed up a load of my time (in a good way), and yielded some great results. From a bird feed scoop, to printing new parts to fix a dishwasher, to retro computer parts that you can no longer buy, to bits of ‘art (broad stretch of the word!), to components to enhance the printer itself!!
It really is the tinkerer’s dream. You can customise it, leave it standard, make it work however you wish.
I personally watched stacks of YouTube videos before buying, and even more after.
There is a huge community of support out there for this machine, and it is a solid basis to 1) start printing really quickly, and 2) to learn all about printing and materials.
I modified my machine with drawers, storage, guides, filament holder, more storage for electronics and a Raspberry Pi 4 (running OctoPrint).
Great machine, really useful. Get one. 🙂
I think it was good value for money, however needed to use YouTube to assemble top cross membe
Great printer, came in perfect condition. No troubles assembling it. First print was spot on.
This has been possibly one of my best purchases for my husband. It has run nearly non-stop since it arrived, and has completed more than a dozen projects.
It took a while to set up properly, but totally worth it.
I’ve had it for about two week and the only problem I’ve had so far was needing to use a glue stick on the bed before printing. The instructions were good, I’m a pc system builder so the common sense that came with that helped I think. I’m really happy with this printer, I expected to have to tweek and tighten things but it just works really really well. I’ve had it printing pretty much since I got it. I’ve been using Cura to slice things and have added Octopi to the printer which also went ultra smoothly.
High quality product, easy to build (I followed a you tube video along with the excellent instructions)
Prints come out perfect. I use Cura as my slicer.
Printer came well packed and partially assembled, suggest watching a few videos on complete assembly and checks to make.
Excellent value, highly recommended as an entry into 3D printing
Bit of a learning curve to 3d printing itself but this seems like a decent starting poi
Great printer, make sure you check the memory card that comes in the box to check the video for instructions on how to put it together. One thing that wasn’t really mentioned is belt tension, make sure they have good tension but aren’t too tight, and enjoy! If you get into bother, there are plenty of youtube videos, facebook and reddit groups out there.
This is great, heaps of fun with the kids. The price was fantastic. Easy to mod and make better. What ‘they’ said about value for money is spot on. Great starter printer.
I am completely pleased with this printer and don’t see spending more money would add any value or improve prints, all around excellent.
Product arrived perfectly, excellent packaging, all parts included, no hardware issues.
This is my first 3D printer so I want anyone new to 3D printing to have a realistic perspective.
I have been printing jigs and parts useful in my woodshop and a few things for the printer itself. I had early success then lots of issues getting prints to stick then reached a plateau of excellent success with limited issues. Bad prints early on can just be stopped and restarted with the main screen.
What to expect:
* A steep learning curve, documentation is ok but doesn’t address everything, lots of mistakes and plenty of solutions you gain quickly from just doing it.
* Take the time to assemble the printer, square up the frame parts and review a couple assembly videos on youtube. They help to ensure early success in printing.
* Remove and clean the magnetic sheet with warm soapy water to remove any grease or dirt. Then carefully dab to dry and don’t touch the surface to avoid finger oils.
* If the magnetic sheet lays flat but is crooked, that is ok and affects nothing. I had to trim each side of the sheet by 1/8-1/4″ to avoid it touching the Z rails but it lays dead flat.
* Bed leveling and a clean bed are two of the most valuable checklist points to make in printing. Early on I was cleaning the bed with acetone and isopropyl alcohol but since I just now use soap and water to clean it, I have had so many successful prints and have not removed the magnetic sheet at all, just use the spatula. No finger oils, no need to clean, and all the plastic comes off.
* Use a feeler gauge 0.004″ (1.0mm) and level the bed all around so the tip just touches the gauge but doesn’t press hard because you can actually push the bed down and then it can spring back and be too close to the tip. Stay with 0.2 or 0.3mm layers in Cura slicing software early on (upgrade the software to current version). I think a feeler gauge is better than paper since paper can be compressed, fractions of a paper thickness can be the make or break it in successful prints. Home the head, set the bed just below it, disable the stepper motors from the Ender screen, then move the head around and begin to level the bed with the gauge. you can do the 4 corners only about an inch in or you can also check many other spots on the bed to ensure the bed is flat too with no cupping.
* Prints can take a very long time so correct setup and first layer adhesion are so critical to success.
* Cura defaults sometimes work and sometimes don’t, but custom settings make for a much higher success rate of prints adhering to the bed. *** The first layer is absolutely the most important layer. *** If it is not perfect or near perfect then prints will most likely fail in many ways, lifting up at corners, shrinking, popping off, skipping, spaghetti mess etc.
* Default print speed needs to be slowed down for the first layer. I am using as low as 15-20mm/s instead of the 30mm/s default. Go into preferences/settings/setting visibility and make some settings viewable in the custom window. 50mm/s is a decent normal print speed after initial layer. Top/bottom shell thicknesses can help add strength to many needed prints.
* Experiment with infill. 20-50% is common unless 100% fill is needed for a solid. Higher than 50% doesn’t really help much unless going full solid.
* Supports do help but are not necessary for every part with small hangovers unless you require a flawless print versus a shop needed print.
* Add a few extra lines for skirts to 5 which can aid in seeing any priming issues and early leveling issues. Brims are good for narrow and tall prints. Rafts can help with unique shaped prints for early layer adhesion and build.
* Cura will remember the settings from the previous print so you don’t have to start from scratch every time with settings.
* When a print is done, Cura puts in the gcode that the steppers are disabled so you can move the head or bed, but don’t move then around fast if they are not disabled.
Print an extension for the spool filament from thingiverse, it will help to keep the filament at a better arc and out of the Z lead screw.
Changing colors is simple, heat the tip up, then remove the filament and push in another color. The skirt/brim etc will prime the color so the part will be solid to the new color.
A solid table surface is good, nothing flimsy or wobbly.
Included spatula is excellent, sharp and removes prints very well.
Buy some full 1kg spools of colors you like and also try some test colors which come in small loose spools about 50g. I printed a small spool to hold the test colors which helps while printing so filament can spin smoother.
I am running the printer near non stop. I have many more dozens of things I want to print and just waiting to get through them all, at which point I’m sure to have added many more.
Have fun and create. Plenty of free files for printing, millions are out there. Yeggi.com is a great 3D print file search engine, along with myminifactory.com and thingiverse.com
As a beginner printer, the Ender 3 line is extremely popular right now. And for very good reason:
* Excellent price point puts the base model under $200 and the “pro” model under $300
* Outstanding print quality that rivals much more expensive printers
* Strong, growing community – just search Thingiverse for “ender 3 mod”, or visit the ender3 subreddit.
Some things to note:
* Don’t struggle through the build instructions in the box. I used the 3D Printed Tomb of Horrors build video on Youtube, but there are other build guides out there too. One thing I really liked about the build video I referenced is that he walks through not just how to set up each step, but clearly demonstrates it and explains *why* he is doing so. He also performs a couple of additional steps that are not in the included instructions, simply because they’re easier to fix while building the printer than after it’s already assembled.
* One of the nuts on my bed rollers came loose after a week or so, allowing the bed to become unstable and causing some prints to fail until I figured out why. Make sure to check all screws, bolts, and nuts periodically.
* The nozzles that come with the printer are great for general-purpose printing, but try other sizes too – the quality difference between the default (0.4mm) nozzles and a 0.2 nozzle are amazing.
* For your first few prints, practice by making some of the upgrades from Thingiverse.
This machine is excellent value for money and I am finding it a great introduction to 3D printing. That said it does have a few drawbacks, like other reviewers I found the assembly and setup instructions a little ambiguous. However the main problem is that this 3D process is slow, a medium sized item at the finest setting can take days to print even without stopping it overnight. I don’t think this is an issue alone for the Ender 3 but more a criticism of this type of 3D printing. When a print is stopped overnight the pause feature does recall its x-y positioning, but there is usually some fluctuation in the z axis, probably a change in ambient temperature, that causes a misprint. Finally a small annoyance with conversion software which is generic and again cannot be blamed on the Ender 3 alone. That is no allowance is made for the thickness of the extrusion on the overall size of object to be printed, i.e notionally fitting parts in a 3D model, don’t when printed; overall dimensions are larger and holes smaller. None of these problems are insurmountable and all in all I am quite excited about what I am going to print in the future.
I am a first time 3d printer owner, and this printer came highly recommended… and I have to admit while most of the problems I have had have been simply due to my lack of experience… I was frankly shocked by the lack of support from Creality. the magnetic mat is cool, but got scratched thanks to my improperly leveling the bed, I just wanted to order another one to replace it… so I sent an email to Creality Customer service. a day later I got a reply from Shirley Zhang saying “Thanks for your email. Sorry, we do not have replacement magnetic print beds for the Ender-3 pro.” that is ALL she said.. no reference or suggestions just… ‘nope.. we don’t have them’
I asked where I might be able to find a replacement part and Shirley wrote back saying “Thanks for your email. we provide one year warranty of the printer, if the parts are damaged when you received, you can contact us to solve it. but the factory does not provide extra replacement parts to sell on our website. please understand”
so no, I do not understand… this company makes a product with parts that will easily wear out and you cannot buy a replacement… I will attempt to find a 3D printer company that stands behind their product. good bye Creality.
UPDATE: changed to a 5 star for two reasons, first aside from the problem with the magnetic mat the printer has been fricking awesome and I want no misunderstanding I recommend the printer… second, when I reached out to Creality which is of course the brand of the printer and they refused to help I was appalled, however upon seeing this Comgrow reached out to me and is taking ownership of the situation. so thank you Comgrow!
I bought the Ender 3 from Cromgrow via Amazon. This is my second 3d printer, having previously use a much more expensive Flashforge Finder. The ender 3 offers a much better spec, specifically the bigger print area and heated print bed, however, unlike my previous printer this is not a ‘plug and play’ solution- it requires some considerable time (2-3 hours) to build and then further time to adjust and set up. I mostly print miniatures and scenery for tabletop gaming and the Ender 3 is the perfect printer for that. I’ve found online support from other users invaluable and have also had superb after sales from Cromgrow who I contacted via Amazon. If you’re interested in getting into 3d printing this printer is a great starting point, just be aware that 3D printing is a hobby in it’s own right and to get the best results you will need to invest quite a lot of time and patience!
I will split my review in two pieces, printer (Ender 3) and reseller (Comgrow).
Printer:
This is a very, very inexpensive printer. It comes partially assembled however I wouldn’t consider it partially assembled at all. I recommend anyone buying this to dismantle the lower half and reassemble with due care and attention. Assemble the whole printer on a flat surface and a set square. Ensure the whole frame is square and the z rod is square and parallel to the frame. Ensure belts are tight, and ensure the carriage, z gantry and bed wheels are tensioned correctly before beginning to print.
Carefully assembling the printer will make troubleshooting print quality amazingly simple. I would recommend using Simplify 3d as the slicer with this printer.
Overall I am getting incredible prints now with this printer. For <200 it is unbelievable. I have previously worked with multiple ultimakers and gigabots and I'm seeing comparable quality in finished prints here.
Comgrow:
As equally impressive as the printer. Wow. I had a couple of issues with the printer regarding the flatness software the bed. This made first layers difficult to get dialed in. They quickly recommended a solution and shipped replacement parts with no quibble. I provided a video of the performance and some images showing the problem and they knew this was a genuine query and rectified it immediately. They offered some advice alongside this also. Turn around time was more than acceptable and I had a great experience dealing with Nancy from Comgrow. I would highly recommend buying from this seller.
Like many, I have been contemplating purchasing a 3d printer for a long time and have been hesitant about the abundance of differing designs and reviews. I finally took the plunge. Within the same day this was delivered, unpacked, assembled, bed-levelled and a test print completed. I even had time to hook a Raspberry Pi running Octoprint and operate it wirelessly. Not bad considering I knew nothing about 3d printing only 8 hours ago.
The poster-sized assembly instructions are good, really good. All the parts are labelled right down to the bolts. You can’t go wrong.
The promise from Creality is that this takes 2 hours to assemble. It took exactly that. Once assembled this is where the instructions end. There is the promise of a user guide and a test print in the included SD Card, but alas as so many have reported the card was empty.
Not a problem. The printer is very popular so there are a number of good quality videos on YouTube (search for “build and setup Ender 3” from 3d Printing Canada).
My advice, as so many will say: level the bed (see the above YouTube series), takes about 5 minutes and you are set; download the tugboat sample from Thingiverse if your SDCard is blank, download Cura (it’s free) and open the STL file and click on slice, it will offer to save it to an SD Card, do so, insert into he printer, open the SDCard from the menu and stand back in awe.
Worked flawlessly first time for me, probably because I spent a little time watching the videos on YouTube.
