I had been looking for years for a good tracking system, and I now have these in all my vehicles…

Really easy to install & set up, and tons of features in the mobile app – really useful & highly recommended. My only quibble is the geofence push notifications seem a little hit & miss, but that may be my phone. All in all, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as a super-easy, super-effective vehicle tracking solution.

    Usual quick delivery.
Easy to install, seems to work well (only had it a few days).
Insurance Co allowed it as a “Unknown Tracker” so small discount there.
Mate has one and swears by it.
    Happy with it.

Item setup was simple and straightforward, the app seems user friendly. The tracker itself is smaller then what I pictured in my head which is good as its easy to stick to side/on battery without fear it will drop

    Simple to use

So I bought this as my brother recommended it, he’s had a couple for a while but since buying my much loved ST I thought I’d take his advice and I’m glad I did.

Installed in a couple of minutes and easy to set up on the app with a quick scan of the box.

Already considering a second for my other car.

Was an absolute doddle to install (5 mins max) and worked out of the box. The app that goes with it is intuitive and easy to get going and learn the features. There is the monthly subscription but I feel that is worth it to have the extra peace of mind. If I was to find a negative it would probably just be that given the length of wire supplied and the positioning requirements it’s not really easy to hide away. Also, I am a little concerned that it will drain the battery if I don’t drive for a few days, though this hasn’t been an issue so far and I’ve left it 3-4 days without driving. Overall, very happy with the purchase and ongoing service from Rewire

Having had a tracker before was unsure as the first one was a complicated, useless and unreliable.
    This tracker, WOW!!!
So easy to fit and setup, brilliant!!!
The user interface is so easy on your smart phone, again brilliant.
One downside maybe that when the bonnet is lifted the tracker is in plain sight, we will see how that goes.

Bought this some time ago now, took literally less than 5mins to install myself with a spanner. Then it’s 60 p/y got 247 monitoring. It’s yet to lose signal, I’d say it’s accurate to <10m. I literally just wanted the tracker but the extra features are nice; can set it up to tell you if it detects vibration (say like if someone hits it or a door is opened), if the ignition is turned on, or if the car moves. You also have all your geofencing features and stuff.

Superb tracker, I love its features. Accuracy and signal is great, costs are quite a bit though and I think that’s the worst part.

But it’s already saved me, my car garage took my car out for a joy ride and unplugged my dashcam, thankfully didn’t notice this.. Caught them going over 100mph in my sports car, reported them immediately, would of had no idea if I didn’t have this. Seriously good for monitoring people using your car!

    Must have for luxury cars.

Easy to install and set up; however, the reliability of the App leaves a lot to be desired. The notifications are hit and miss, and there is no way for the App to override the Do Not Disturb function of an iPhone, which means it’s no use for notifications at night. Whilst not perfect, it still helps to give a slight peace of mind, so I wound recommended as a tool to use together with a faraday bag and steering wheel lock.

I have tried the OBD trackers and they are sort of ok, however with the Rewire it is head and shoulders above the “cheaper” units.

    Easy to install
    App is excellent
The abilty to configure numerous bespoke alerts is a superb feature.

I have had one unit on my daughters car for 12 months now, and have just purchased a second for another car.

Yes, the annual subscription could be cheaper (sub 50 would be ideal), however for the accuracy, easy of use and alerting features its worth the investment.

    Highly recommend.

Easy instructions to follow, register account before fitting, two wires to connect on this product – Could it be any simpler? Received product within the day and fitted it immediately on arrival. Had been thinking for some time about fitting a tracker and after a spate of thefts locally my mind was made up. Loads of alternatives on the market. Value and simplicity sold this one to me. It is installed on my campervan leisure batteries for my convenience – downside of that is when the batteries are charging it registers that the ignition is on and can’t tell when the ignition is actually on. Not a problem for me easy fix wire to vehicle battery if I was concerned, I’m not. I knew of this before purchase and the DB1 addresses this “issue” with a seperate ignition feed. DB1 also has a couple more features but for the additional cost I the DB2 was more than sufficient for the task for me. There is an ongoing subscrition charge to keep it alive but they all do somehow. Phone app is simple and you can set the level of alerts you want/need. Online app has extra information that can be illuminating for you – fun to browse! Vehicle battery and units backup battery are useful to check on. Because I’ve got mine hooked to the leisure batteries I get to know what my state of charge on those from my computer are albeit it basic voltage. Historical logs are easy to access and read. All round great buy for me.

No fuss device that worked straight out of the box (once fitted of course) Actually it took longer for me to find the right sized socket than it did to fit the device. Once fitted did a quick drive around the block and the device is tracking right away.

The online app and the phone app can give you as much or as little detail as you want it to.

I also read that some people say ‘aren’t trackers supposed to be hidden?’ Well it really would be very easy to do so just by adding extension wires from the battery to the device and hiding it where you want to – just bear in mind that you don’t block the signal (signal strength is actually shown in the app interface to help you with this).

As this is primarily sold as a fleet tracking device fitting on top of the battery is fine. But it would easily serve just as well as a car theft and return device – just hide it like I have said above.

Overall. Brilliant. It just fits and works with no fuss and no technical ability needed. If you can use a socket set you are good to go.

    🙂

I was skeptical at first, I tried other trackers and thought surely I don’t need to pay as much. The only issue was with the other trackers either you need to send a text, the interface wasn’t great, it ran out of battery etc.

I took the plunge at bought Rewire’s tracker, and immediately I was ok so this thing works, geo-fencing, speed alerts, whether or not the ignition started. I started getting notifications (of course one has to set up these notifications) but nonetheless whenever the car moved, was started or even shaken by the neighborhood children I got a notification.

This is especially useful as my car is also used by my wife and brother, it was allows us to make sure that the car is safe and if we were to have an accident it provides logs as to how fast we were going, and where we were. This is especially useful if you live in a high crime area, as I’ve seen a decrease in my insurance premium (not a drastic amount, but every little helps).

One of the reasons I was put off buying this was because of the monthly subscription, but I’ve realised at the end of the day I would rather pay 60 a year knowing the car is safe.

As many of you would be wondering surely there are some cons, and yes there are. Sometimes the GPS in tracker isn’t fast enough so tracking the car doesn’t feel like it’s real time. Other times, when you leave the geo-fenced area you do not get a notification straight away it takes a while, which is also rather annoying at times.

However, I will be buying this tracker for my dad as there have been an increase in car thefts around where we live. I hope this reviews helps you come to a sound conclusion as to whether or not this is for you.

Fantastic piece of kit. Will tell you where car is, car battery status, back up battery status, strength of GPS. Where you have been. Show on map your route over various settings ie day, week, month, year. Has street view. If you value your items then get it. It is accurate to a few feet….your phone will show where GPS is and where you are looking at the information….two readings will show feet apart if you close by

After buying a cheaper tracker which killed my first motorbike battery and drain my brand new one in 24 hours, I was really sceptical about this on as it connected the same way. My motorbike hasn’t be used for 5 days and when out to start it and it did first time, no battery drain at all. The tracker is very easy to fit and can be done in minutes. I love this device. It’s very simple to install and feature-rich. The Web and App are up-to-date, look good, and provide plenty of features. It can tell you if you drive out of an area you draw on a map, tell you if you accelerate too hard, corner excessively, crash, drive out of hours, or even if your car battery gets too low! Yes, you have to pay 60 per year, but all the trackers require a GSM card and a contract, so this is no different. The tracker works in a wide range of countries.

Often a good product can be let down by it’s accompanying software, but this is not the case with this product.

Golden Review Award: 30 From Our UsersSo we have a van which we decided needed a tracker. There are a lot of cheap versions which have some features but wanted something a bit more substantial and UK based.

    Thus the DB2.

The ease to install….yes has 2 clips you can connect directly to the battery. However no indication of any fuse which I would expect with any 12v device. Just personally I like that extra peace of mind that the device isn’t going to overheat and burn. It has a built in battery so if it disconnects it can continue to monitor for a short while.

Set up is easy. scan the barcode on the app and voila. You get like a 2 week trial for free.

Yes it works out 5 per month but the minimum i could see to buy was 3 months. Not sure where the 1 month is.

Next up is the configuration. You can do some via the app and you can monitor but if you want to do any zones or clever alarms you have to use the web page on a desktop PC.

Now the caveat in relation to the no hidden costs.
Web notifications are free via the app.
You have up to 150 emails a month. (not sure why the limit as emails are free if you have a mail server)
SMS – you get none with the plan. if you want text messages with you alerts that is extra. 12.50 for 50. That works out 25p per text which in this day and age is rather expensive.

So far like the device and the app and the web page work well.

Am not against the company but have dropped the one star for limited emails and no sms at all with the subscription.

Over the years i have dabbled with various cheap GPS trackers which require a 2G Sim Card and all of them have been unreliable.
After a recent spate of motorcycle thefts in my area I bit the bullet, did a bit of research and settled on the DB2 as i only wanted the ability to live track and didn’t need all the functionality of the others.
Firstly it is quite small and slim and only has 2 wires (Pos & Neg). It can be wired directly to your battery or to a live and ground from elsewhere on the bike.
The tracker has it’s own backup battery and goes into sleep mode when not in use meaning it draws next to nothing from your battery. This protects from wearing your bikes battery down over long periods. If your bike is moved or started, it wakes up and alerts you. If a thief disconnects the battery, it has its own backup battery and will continue to function for a few days.
When using the app it has been totally accurate and your trackers position can be viewed on a map or previous routes ridden on my bike can be called up and viewed.
You view the location info by using an app or by logging onto the website. You can also see the voltage level of your vehicles battery and the level of the devices backup battery (and set up low level alerts) which is piece of mind for motorcycles with small batteries that could sit around for weeks at a time. There is plenty of other info on the app which i wasn’t expecting with this basic model.
The one thing i would have preferred would have been a slightly longer cable or having bullet connectors to make lengthening easier without chopping the original lead.
You subscribe to the tracking service by paying a measly 5 per month for unlimited tracking using the inbuilt sim card. There is the ability to buy extra alerts via text and email but i see these as unnecessary an over priced when the app will alert you to you vehicle being stolen anyway as long as it has a data enabled on your phone or tablet.
I love this tracker and for the money you would be a fool not to protect a motorcycle with one. This was my first DB2 and i have bought a second for my other motorbike. I just wish i had done it sooner as i have had 2 previous motorcycles stolen and reckon i would have stood a good chance of getting them back straight away if i had these fitted.

This does exactly what I want, as a driving instructor I like to keep an eye on the students on test and this fits the bill.

Shame about subscription part of it but it’s works really well so I’m willing to pay it at 59 per-yr. The wires that connect to the battery are iny oppinion not very robust & design wise could be thicker cable and sealed at the unit better to support them. I’ve given 5* as its so accurate with the info I ask.
I recommend this Tracker & feel happy to buy again if needed.

I have purchased this device purely to be able to track the household vehicles when they’re not under our attention. Due to the crime rates of areas in the UK, not necessarily in my area, it had come to my mind that a GPS Tracker would be required.

Initially, it was only bought for a 2017 Fiesta ST, although 2 more have been purchased to accommodate the rest of the cars in the household.

Since all of our cars are Keyless Entry, it means that there is a slight chance that our cars will be an easy target for thieves. Other than a Faraday Cage Key container, we have also got a tracker, hardwired to the vehicle, so that, god forbid, this scenario happens, we will know where the car will be – assuming that the thieves did not remove the tracker.

The GPS tracker provides both telemetry, e.g. Harsh Braking, Overspeeding, as well as tracking whether the car has its ignition on.

On the GPSLive website, you may set up your safe zones for where your car is meant to be located at certain times. Once it behaves abnormally, you will get alarmed about the status of the car, e.g. Unauthorised Departure on your driveway.

Plenty of superb features this GPS has, and it only cost 59.99 for the unit! It comes with a 10-day Free Trial, to showcase you the full potential of the tracker. It’s definitely worth a buy!

Monthly subscription for the tracking service comes at 4.99 a month, base rate. It’s worth it to have the ease of mind that your car is traceable.

I bought the DB2 to replace a 3 year old tracker in my vehicle. The older one was cheaper and the associated web site dissapeared a few weeks after purchase meaning I could only locate the vehicle by sending a text and receiving a position. This tracker is so much better due to the associated web software that works very well on my phone, Chrome book, and PC.

Simple installation: The tracker is small and it was easy to find a couple terminals in the fuse box and on the bulkhead to attach the two terminals. I stuck the unit onto another item inside the engine bay where it is hidden but looks OEM. For satellite signals it works perfectly and the tracking data is really good. I can now tag any journey and partial journeys to business or private and it makes adding my monthly mileage so easy for the accountant.

The detail on the map when I look at where I am parked is very detailed – probably the best map detail I have seen. And there is a link to google find the best route back to the vehicle which is great if you are visiting a city and not sure of the best way back – or have lost your vehicle in the NEC car parks.

As for monthly costs it is now a little cheaper for me. The old tracker SIM was a GiffGaff one that I paid 6.00 a month. The DB” tracker cost 5.00 a month for so much more from the web pages.

I rarely give feedback but I am very happy with this purchase.

ignore the fitting instructions telling you to fit it on the battery
I jointed the supply leads and made a harness up and secreted it very carefully
this is my second one of these units and it gives good results

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe tracker works perfectly with its android app or via the web interface, the tracking is updated roughly every 10 seconds so its not a live feed as such but not a problem for our companies needs, it saves a history of where the vehicle has been which can be played back via the “history” tab.

    Cost:
    The unit: 59.99
    Monthly subscription: 5.00
The initial purchase is a little bit on the pricey side in my opinion, especially when buying multiple units, but i find the monthly subscription costs very fare (works out roughly 0.16 per day)

Installation/setup is very easy as it simply connects to your car battery, all you need is a spanner, then setup via the app (gpsLive) is very easy.

This tracker is great value for money as most others that give the same facilities are well over 100 and require a contractual subscription, but I must add that although there is no contractual subscription needed, it is just a box if you do not pay a subscription, as you cannot even see the basic location of the vehicle it is connected to. It is however quite a cheap subscription compared to others, and does give you the choice of not paying if it is not required which is a bonus.

I’ve been using this now for about four weeks but I find it notifies me that my van has moved or been started about 4-5 minutes later .Not at the time. I find it very annoying.

Does exactly what it says it does. Just note it’s 60 to buy and then 5 a month to subscribe to a rolling subscription. But all good

Very affordable and reliable, only slight criticism you always have a movement alert before module notice ignition on. Probably not a big deal, as you can check accuracy location. In use on my motorcycle.

Excellent product. Tells me where I’ve been and has good security features. My other half has the app so that the kettle is on when I pass the geofencing limit. App needed updating which the company did with no problems whatsoever.

Easy to fit, easy to use and accurate.
Note there is a 5 a month subscription charge for real time tracking but worth it, as the app is good and simple to set up (iOS)

Fitting the box to the car was easy! Just unscrew the bolts on the battery on at a time and connecting the wires- red first to the positive terminal and black to the negative terminal screwing the bolts after. You should see two green lights flashing. Stick the tracker to the top of the battery so it’s flat using the sticky pay included. This is so that the sensors work vibration and movement.

Sign up to the app and using your phones camera, you scan a barcode on the box which is the GPS Trackers IMEI number. This then links your tracker to your account and your seven day trial is active.

You can then track your vehicle from the phone app or their website. This is more of a commercial tracker, it includes lots of features that a fleet vehicles would need such as driving and rest times. But is also perfect for a normal car user.

After the free trial, the prices are 5.99 a month/ 59.99 a year. The tracker uses the phone network to relay your location in real time. I found there to be a 20 sec lag between each tracking points.

I had a problem of the app saying my cars ignition was on when I had parked up for a good 11 hours. I contacted tech support and they updated the firmware of the tracker with in a few hours of submitting the support ticket. Now everything is working fine! The tracker measures the battery voltage; 12v When ignition is off and 14v ignition is on

The app lets you set alerts such as vibration, Signal jamming, ignition starts etc. The app alert you by sending a notification and you can set up email alerts to!

There is a cheaper tracker on Amazon that looks identical to this one and is cheaper but is more of a consumer grade app. I’d recommend paying 10 more and getting this!

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersI’ve been using this tracker on my kit car since April 2019 and I’ve been impressed with it. It’s a doddle to fit (just red to positive and black to negative) and has performed faultlessly as soon as it was fitted. The app is easy to use and allows you to keep an eye on your vehicle when you’re remote from it – this was really useful when I’d left the car unattended when at Le Mans. The subscriptions are 60 a year which is reasonable and you can just pay per month without a contract if you only want to have it active at certain times of the year (by comparison my TrackStar contract with my van is 168 pa and doesn’t work any differently from this!).

I purchased a used caravan and wanted to have a tracker fitted to accompany the Alko hitch and wheel locks. This item had good reviews and was reasonably priced. You get free 7 days to try it in the app or login in from PC. It is really easy to set up and get going. It’s 5 and month or 50 for the full year. I randomly check it on the app and it shows it online and the location is really accurate.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI was apprehensive buying this as many other car tech bits have been tricky to install and had poor instructions, but this is really simple to install – sit it on the battery and connect the wires to the two terminals. App looks great and registers straight away.
My only issue is that my app doesn’t show a map, just a location. Any ideas why?

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI was dubious at first as it is so much cheaper than its competitors. but i am very impressed, the app is very easy to use and gives me all the information i need. it even alerts me if the car is moved during a week day.
the app can be a bit glitch sometimes but over all very easy to use.
i have recommended it to 3 other people who have all bought one and cant wait to test it on my 1500 mile trip through Europe this year.

Brilliant easy to use and loads of functionality.

Great product and easy to use although the imei that was on the box was 1 digit different to the one on the device so took me a few goes before realising the imei on the printed label was wrong and the one on the tracker was correct. No buggy.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis product is just brilliant. I honestly can’t recommend it enough! Install took me literally 2 minutes, it’s extremely accurate (if not 100% it will be less than 1metre) and there are some great functions like the notifications on your phone for ignition started, movement detected and vibration alerts. I would expect to pay way more for a device that works as well as this one.
And last but not least, ordered at 4am on a Saturday to receive it at 10am on the same Saturday.
Well done to Rewire Security and amazo

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFitted in minutes and a doddle to set up on the app once downloaded, this bit of kit is excellent. Within about half a minute of the vehicle being opened, it sends a vibration alert, then an ignition alert as soon as the vehicle is started. Location accuracy is fantastic and keeps up with the movement of the vehicle. Despite all the other security, I may not be able to totally stop thieves taking my motor, but I will sure as hell know quickly that they are up to something and if they do get away, I’ll know where it is. Highly recommend this for peace of mind and ease of installation and use.
