Good replacement for a much loved Dolce Gusto machine
We have been using a De Longhi Melody 3 Dolce Gusto coffee maker for about ten years. We bought this to replace it after the pump failed (and before I figured out how to fix it) as the Genio S is the closest in functionality. It is smaller (more compact) but has essentially the same controls. It works really well and makes great coffee. The controls are slightly more fiddly – the “start” button requires quite a firm press and is made of soft plastic that feels like it might not last 10 years. The lever for pushing the water nozzle into the pods seems more flimsy but the action is actually easier and punctures the foil cap on the pods with less effort. The water container is also smaller, though plenty large enough for two large cups of coffee, but more difficult to re-attach than its predecessor. I always thought the Melody 3 was a very well made machine, and I think the Genio S has made some improvements and a couple of steps backwards. I can’t see any reason to go for the higher spec Genio S + or Genio S Touch – overall this is a very good machine and very good value at the price we paid for it.

Very good and resonably priced product. This is my third Dolce Gusto machine and for its price its very good. Slightly noisy in use but that is only for a few moments as it dispenses the coffee. Automatic shut off is good. I find the water resevoir much easier to use than earlier models. Comes with a handy funnel for use when using cleaner/limescale remover which directs the flow into a cup below.
Excellent produc
Have used Dolce Gusto machines for a while now and this was to replace a previous model which had worn out (after many years of use). This machine is smaller than previous model, looks very neat on the side. The water tank is a much better design, easy to fill and clean. The facility to have different temperature coffee is excellent with the hot being very hot – perfect. And most importantly the coffee tastes amazing. Excellent product would definitely recommend.
Adjusts to the drink size
It looks nice, easy to clean (hardly needs it),easy to fill up the water. It is the perfect coffee maker for my needs.
I used the pods and have not yet used the cold drink feature.
Hot barista style coffee at home
Tried other machines, this is far the best machine for making the hottest drinks and you can also vary the temperature. Neat machine and easy to clean. Pity this model didn’t come with a used pod container, but had from previous Dolce Gusto machine

Recently bought this model to replace a previous manual Dolce Gusto and can safely say that It’s money well spent.
The bonus of the automatic machines is that it puts the correct amount of coffee in per pod grades, just turn the dial to the correct grade and press the button and leave it to pour.
No more multitasking keeping an eye on the coffee pouring as you make a sandwich, just let it go safe knowing that it will cut off when it’s reached the level required.
Nice wee machine to have in the kitchen and quieter than my previous model.

Getting better and better.
This is the best dolce gusto machine I have had – and I’ve had a few over the last 15 years or so! The water can be topped up whilst the machine is in use, the start button can be activated whilst it is still pre-heating, the cut off is automatic. All this allows you to freedom to do other things whilst your coffee is brewing. Of course the flavour is as good as ever, the selection of pods is ever increasing and there is now a free pod recycling service. I won’t be changing coffee machine brand anytime soon.

Small and compact, very easy to use. Great selection of coffees and other drinks.
I bought mine when they had an offer on and recieved 6 boxes of pods free, making this a great deal.
Water tank has enough water to make two cups.
If there was one niggle it would be the lid on the water container is not very secure and could easily be knocked off.
Quickly heats up and simple dial controls. I love it.
De’Longhi W Genio S Pod my new great coffee machine
I discovered this coffee machine when I was researching for a pod coffee machine on my WHICH app. WHICH gave it a Best Buy rating. The machine has lived up to its Best Buy rating. The quality and taste of the coffee is excellent across the range of coffees I’ve tried. I particularly like the au lait and the au lait intenso for my first coffee of the day. The machine works extremely well and is easy to clean. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to family and friends.
Great little coffee machine
This is my third Dolce Gusto machine, the first I gave away as it was very tall and the second started leaking and sounding like a train after many years but this little one is just perfect. The tank at 0.8 litres is quite small and I might have preferred a bigger tank but it makes great coffee . The instructions though are pretty poor but being an old timer was able to work out how to operate it, its quiet and looks great on the counter top.
Don't expect any free coffee!!
The coffee machine is fine,but after sales service stinks. Dolce Gusto had a promotion running at the time of purchase which was six boxes of coffee pods if you purchased within a time frame it had to be done through Whatsap,I am a 73 year old pensioner! so I asked a neighbour to help me to get my free coffee,but they kept putting obstacles in the way,so if you’re a pensioner you’ve got no chance unless you’re computer literate.They did contact me but said they couldn’t help.
A COFFAHOLICS MUST HAVE
I am a coffee connoisseur and have always felt that this range offers what machines worth hundreds produce for a fraction of the price in double quick time. The finished product is just the right temperature and discharges just the right amount of water to blend with the product. The drip tray is more stable than some models and I can’t manage without one. I find the whole range of pods appeals to all tastes and I like to keep a variety in stock for visiting coffaholics.
Easy and perfect coffee every time.
Excellent machine that is compact, easy to use and makes amazing drinks in less than a minute. Made lots of different coffees and hot chocolates. Perfect every time. I like the automatic machines as they put in the exact amount of water. You can easily adjust this to add more water for that extra long drink. Highly recommended.
Great machine
Excellent. Never drink coffee at home as a rule as I like milky coffee and just can’t be bothered basically to make it. This on the other hand is magic makes it just how I like it.
Coffee heave
I love coffee but i never really knew howe much i loved it until we bought the Dolche gusto machine. i’m not really a gadgety person so our daughter used it first well how difficult could it really be ? Turns out it’s probably the least complicated machine i’ve ever used. To put it simply there is no point looking anywhere else for a coffee machine, it’s very simple to use, makes gorgeous coffee and also looks very smart in any kitchen. What are you waiting for???
Fit for purpose
Arrived on time. Very nice machine, easy to use, much better than the manual machine, have had no problems with it at all and it is used constantly. Would recommend.
Replaced because loved my original one
Second machine purchased and some improvements made e g operating switch which broke on previous machine. Water tank better too. The pod holder is very light and easy to use. Loved the taste already and that is reason for buying another.
Brilliant machine
Purchased as a gift for my mother, she loves it! Last one she had did have bigger water tank but had no auto-off feature, which this one does (pours the right amount and stops automatically). Water tank size really isn’t an issue as you can refill it while it’s making a drink.
The only thing I’d change is increasing the vertical space where the cup goes as large latte cups are a bit of a squeeze.
Also, highly recommend trying the Starbucks and Costa coffee pods!
simple to use
Got the product last weekend. Had 2 delicious cups of expresso coffee soon after – easy to make and easy to use and doesn’t require much cleaning at all.

Well worth the money. The settings take a bit of getting used to as you use a dial too select how much/how hot the water is, but once you’ve figured this out is brilliant. I do like this feature as some people like their coffee boiling hot rather than instantly drinkable. Would recommend this machine only downside is the small tank size.
Tastes as good as the coffee shops
We absolutely love this machine (genio s). Super easy to use & clean and the variety of different drinks is perfect.
The water tank doesn’t empty too quick. Very happy and saves us a fortune as no more expensive coffee shop runs.
Cons the hot choc options is more of a shot than a mug full and need better shaped mugs to fit the tray. I will try getting ones like in the pics.

Choice of drinks and quality
I absolutely love my machine it’s easy to use looks nice and I love the automatic function. The coffee choices are brilliant and they taste amazing ! Just like you’ve been to a coffee shop. I also discovered the Nescaf website I didn’t realise there was so much choice of different drinks and also limited additions so always something new to try. I’m never going to switch brands I’ll always stick with Nescaf gusto. Very happy custome

Had this a couple of weeks now and not had any problems. Was worried by some poor reviews talking about a ‘plasticy taste’ or leaks, but this was not my experience. I ran a tank of water through it first,as per the instructions, and every cup has been spot on since.
I got 3 different boxes of capsules to try and some are nicer than others. I’m not a fan of the powdered milk cappuccinos but the rest of the family really liked them (I got one of those electric frother ‘wand’ things and just make my own froth with milk zapped in the microwave for 1 min. Which everyone now prefers)
It’s really very simple and very clean to use. The water is very hard around here so I always use filtered water in it because everything gets scaled up really quickly in this house. The only negative is that you start to feel really guilty about all the plastic pods going into the bin by the end of the first week so I bought one of those reusable capsules (the metal type with a green lid) and fill that with my own ground coffee. Had it a few days now and I can report that it works perfectly, just adds a bit more faffing about to the process than the disposable capsules but it’s worth it for being guilt free and the fact I can use any coffee I like (I’ve just ordered two more of the reusable capsules so that all three of us can use them at the same time.)
When we moved into this a house a couple of years ago it came with an expensive Bosch coffee machine already installed in the fitted kitchen. We couldn’t believe our luck and thought that was ‘the height of luxury’ but it turned out to be a nightmare, constantly needing to be repaired at an extortionate call out charge and the coffee it made was not that good and a bit of a faff to prepare (the steamer nozzle thing never properly worked). Contrast that overpriced junk with this inexpensive Dolce Gusto thingy and the is really no contest.

Having had an ‘expensive’ Dolce Gusto machine that broke and going to a much cheaper one, I decided to upgrade to this one, and it is worth every penny. It boasts excellent pressure ensuring that whatever the choice of drink is, it is made to perfection.
Highly recommend if you love coffee shop coffee at home.
Delivers as good as best Coffee shops
I like that you can quickly choose from an extensive range of great coffees at any time of the day or night and don’t have to go to a coffee shop unless you want to socialise. I wish it did the same for teas.

This is another example of a machine that compliments dolce gusto pods. Easy to fill, auto settings and as an espresso lover I love the espresso boost button for an even stronger shot. It’s like being in Italy or Turkey. Tidy little machine to compliment your kitchen. Flavour beats nespresso hands down and a lot less fading about. JF
Best aromatic coffees ever tasted from a coffee machines
I bought this machine for my wife. I am actually not a big fan of coffee machines. We got 6 free boxes on purchase. I can smell nice aroma when the drink is being prepared so decided to try once. I had Cortado and it was unbelievably good. I tried 4 flavours so far and each one is very distinctive and fantastic. I already stopped drinking home made coffee and ordered more flavours to try. Another good thing is pods are environmentally sustainable. Dolce sends us pod recycling bag and we can send used pods for free of cost. Every penny with and this machine is must have in kitchen.

Great easy machine and very adjustable!
I’m really enjoying this machine. It’s easy to use, the coffee is great and all in all it’s very affordable. I had a Nesspresso Vertuo which makes the most amazing coffee but the running cost was prohibitive to me plus the fact it’s broken 6 months in. This machine feels like it will keep going and going though!!
I like the easy way to control the heat (it does make a nice hot coffee if you want one), mug size and the speed it warms up. I had heard it was noisy but it’s no more noisy than my old machine and I like the red cable it’s just a bit different from all the others, which to me is good.
All in all very pleased, it would be nice to have a bigger water tank when friends come around but hey I can manage fine with it on my 3 mugs a day.

It’s smaller than I thought you only get two full cups from a full tank of water , but I still love I had the old model , if had to buy a new one I would buy the old model

it was packed securely and delivered on time. no defects were seen. it is very easy to use and very easy to clean. the instructions included in the box is very helpful and informative. now, i can enjoy my coffee without going to a coffee shop. i am loving my dolce gusto machine. there are a lot of pods compatible with this machine (starbucks, coasta,nesquick,mars,galaxy, many more). highly recommended and it is worth buying. it is like having my own coffee shop at home.
Good machine, hot expresso if you follow directions
It is a great machine. It makes very decent expresso. I have no problem with dripping I have had great hot coffee. The trick is to wait until the heat light is solid red before starting. I wish there, was more of a choice if coffee pods. And all varieties of pods without sugar. I’d like to have a cold brewed coffee but do not want sugar. Get your own milk frother and use barista quality alternative milks.
My favourite coffee machine
I really enjoy my new coffee machine. It was easy to set up and it’s easy to use. My favourite feature is the temperature control, as I like my coffee very hot, and previous coffee machine I was using, wasn’t making the coffee hot enough. It has also additional espresso option. The water container is easy to remove.

Best Dolce Gusto I've had.
The 1st dolce gusto automatic machine I’ve had. This is my 3rd in total over the years and the taste is so much better as made to specifics rather than my guesswork. The varied heat settings are a bonus as when in a rush I can have at a more immediate drink temperature and still enjoy. The touch version is so much easier to operate too.

Maybe Nescafe could include a pod in the box so you can get started? Anyway…now with pods and having ‘cleaned through’ the machine the coffee was amazing. It automatically shuts off when it’s reached the level you want and also has an adjustable temperature gauge…all very useful settings. The offer that comes with this machine is well worth taking up too…there is a simple application process to go through but then once it’s been accepted you have the choice of 6 boxes of any type of Nescafe Dolce Gusto plus 2 free recycling bags from their online shop…saving a few pence short of 24. I used to have another brand name coffee maker I got rid and changes to this 1. Biy am I satisfied with the results. It makes a lush cuppa whatever you make. Great flavour. It is very easy to use and to clean. If you fancy buying a coffee machine then this is the 1 to get.
Great machine overall
The only downside to this device is the cost of coffee if you only drink one now an then it’s good but trust me when I say it can easily burn a hole in your pocket an my guess is that it was cleverly engineered for that purpose great machine works great nothing wrong good price but my second guess is because they know you will be paying through the nose

Was deciding between this and the mini version. I’m glad I got this one. Allows for a normal size cup/mug to be used. Reservoir big enough for a couple of cups and just fits in perfectly . Not big or clunky. Easy to use and clean.

Needed to update my old coffee machine to a better model with a few more functions. Great little coffee machine well made and no problems so far with being touch screen.
Compact and easy to use
This is a lot smaller than my previous machine so took some getting used to. The features are great with how hot you want your drink to be and how strong you want it. My only criticism is if you put a normal size latte glass you do not have much room to lift the lid of the machine without having to move the glass out of the way. causing drips sometimes.
Ideal
Was fed up with my Nespresso machine. Wanted more of a combination coffe /milk machine. Researched and this one came up tops. Simple to use. Limited mess, only when changing pods. Great variety of drinks available.
Only negative is the water tank size. At 0.8ltr have been caught out a couple of time with water running out in the middle of making multiple coffee’s but no great problem.
Nice cup of coffee
Bought for my husband, he enjoys a cup of nice coffee and this delivers, easy to use and keep clean, nice small footprint so doesn’t take up a lot of room in kitchen worktop.
The best coffee machine you will buy!
This is just the most fabulous machine. We have actually replaced our significantly more expensive Vertuo machine and find this superior. More choice available and just a joy to use. Bravo!!
Great taste
Love this coffee machine, pods are cheapest from Tesco, can’t drink coffee now unless it’s from a machine, just doesn’t taste the same. The hot chocolate is delicious and my favourite coffee is the Machiato. Only downside is I don’t know where you can get replacements from for the future

I love it. Is is a small model, my hand in the photo to create an idea. If you want something for home purpose, that won’t take much room on your counter this is perfect.

So far so good easy to use though was half the size of my old it still made same amount of coffees and it was nice to not have to sit and watch it ,I was always forgetting and it would spill over ,this one s automatic so perfect smaller lighter but does same job ,only prob trying to do the warrenty email one wouldn’t respond but other wise great value too
Makes tiny cups of lukewarm coffee
Comes with a wordless illustrated user guide which is about as much use as the proverbial chocolate teapot. Demonstrations on YouTube are not much better. If you fill the water tank from the tap and use a single capsule, you’ll get one SMALL (teeny) cup of lukewarm coffee. Fill the water tank with HOT (really hot, from the kettle) water and use two capsules, not one, and your day will be transformed.
Rather like a 300 super-duper mixer, it’s a bit of a gimmick. It can be made to work, but it’s a device designed primarily to sell hugely profitable coffee by the teaspoon. Personally, if I drank coffee (I don’t; my wife does), I’d just use Instant and a teaspoon. No machine to clean, no clutter, no faffing around, genuinely instant and nothing to go wrong.
Coffee machine. De gusto
I found this very hard to use. The user manual is in French and although it is also in picture it is not very clear. It certainly has plenty of details but as usual there is nothing in English and most of the wording is so small it requires a magnifying glass to read. I have phoned the help line twice but they seem rather vague and not really helpful. The coffee is nice once you can get one but I wish I had looked around before buying this one.
Taste the difference.

Cracking little machine.
Superb piece of kit. Our other one failed after years of extremely good use. This model is an upgrade on the other one. Easy to use,produces great coffee. 5stars!!!

Smaller than previous Dolce Gusto coffee machines, with a very attractive design. this machine produces excellent coffee however you adjust the settings. All automatic, but you have to remember to check on the water level (if you are used to a bigger water container!), check on the temperature light (to make sure you don’t accidentally pour yourself a cold cup or merely lukewarm!), remove the capsule quite soon after making a cup (so that the lift mechanism which releases the capsule does not get ‘stuck’). So far pleased with it, but should reserve judgment for the longer term as these machines tend to leaking after a while (by that I mean a couple of years)

The pods we tried so far are Starbucks espresso, Starbucks hot chocolate (chocochino) nespresso cappuccino and nespresso latte macchiato and they all taste very good, rich taste and not diluted or bland. The temperature is really good and hot.
The water container is perfect for serving up to four cups. Very easy to refill and place back into the machine. I have absolutely no issues with the pump as reported on other De Longhi nespresso dolce gusto machines. I did have problems with the Nespresso Dolce Gusto Jovia!!! It was broken as it arrived so I sent it back and bought this one instead. Even if it hadn’t been broken I’d send it back because it’s not automatic like this one. Bought one of these to replace an old Dolce Gusto machine. More techy as you do not have a lever and took me a little bit of time to get used to it. It’s quite dainty looking and not chunky, the only downside is that means I have to fill it up more often with water but it’s hardly worth losing a star over. It also fits store own Dolce Gusto pods. Would recommend.
Too small for usual cups
Great machine. Bought this when my old one started leaking. Only problem is the hot chocolate/latte glass cups are too tall for the machine which is a bit of a pain. If it wasn’t for this it would have full marks.

Great automatic coffee mache
When my old Krupps machine gave up I got this impeccable coffee machine. The manual is easy to use and I got great coffee after a few tries. It is also easy to clean. One improvement I want to propose is to abandon plastic pods and use environmentally friendly paper bags as one competitor has recently done successfully.

I like the fact that it stop by itself, not like the older version.

Absolutely delighted with this compact machine. Excellent flavoured drinks dispensed quickly and efficiently. Very practical and stable design.
A bit fiddly
Produces great coffee using the pods, better than my previous model. Only drawback is the usability. I have the fully touch sensor model and when opening the clamp to put pods in it is easy to touch the settings bar and have to reset the settings. Instructions are poor and the clamp for inserting the pods is far from user friendly. I would think that anyone with poor dexterity in their thumbs might find it a problem.
Easy & quick to use

You can go with the measured water amounts recomended by the pid, or you can choose to add extra water to get a mug full. The same prices allows you to make your coffee stronger to taste.
I’ve managed to find locally many more flavours of coffee and chocolate, and the price is compatible with tassimo T discs.
I’m very happy with this unit and would recommend it over a manual one. It has all the features you need, looks good, and is easy to use.

This is the first automatic machine I gf ave had and already I would not go back. The machine leaked badly initially but I followed advice from previous reviews and removed the little spring from under the water container. Early days but so far I am very pleased with this purchase.

Lovely machine much smaller than my last one . Easy to use lots of froth on coffee only down side are instructions are not very good but as i have used these machines for years i could work it out smaller but same power so very happy takes up less space on worktop
