The Allan key is instead of the old fashioned 2 pin spanner. Great product.
Very handy
Have wanted one of these for a while, finally bit the bullet. Usual Dewalt quality. Purchased a 5ah battery for it as it can be hard on the 3ah ones I already had.

Grinde
This is a tool only, no battery – which explains why it’s cheaper.
It uses the batteries that all the dewalt tools in this range do so you can save a few quid and swap them around, which is a good idea.
It works as you would expect from a big name like dewalt and does a good job.
Good quality grinde
Not the cheapest grinder on the market, but as the batteries are interchangeable with other dewalt devices means less chargers and batteries to carry round.
Works well, but point to note, need to use the higher powers batteries (4Ah and above) as otherwise you will be swapping batteries every few mins!

Great tool
This angle grinder is a fantastic tool : it is very comfortable to hold and the adjustable guard is a very useful addition allowing you to access all angles.
Being lightweight and having a handle it is an excellent tool to work with, especially working on a ladder with no cable to worry about. As to how long the batteries last I do not know, however I have two 4ah batteries so I would use one while charging the other. I would suggest that if you purchase one of these you should get two batteries otherwise on larger jobs you will be continuously waiting to recharge your battery
I already have a deWalt drill with two 4ah batteries and charger so 115 was a great price
If you had to buy the batteries and charger the cost would escalate so this should be bourne in mind.
The three year extended warranty is a comfort.
I had this three year warranty with my deWalt drill that developed a fault after 12 months. The service centre arranged to have it collected from my address and returned within seven days repaired.
The only odd thing is that the grinder comes with a large Allan key and as far as I can see serves no purpose.
To remove and fit the cutting discs you need a special two pronged tool that was not in my package.
This would be a problem as you have no way of fitting the cutting discs . Not fitting them securely would be dangerous * DeWalt if this is not an isolated incident it needs to be addressed *
For my own part I already own a Bosch mains powered angle grinder and the tool for changing the discs Is compatible with the deWalt so Personally I not have a problem.

Ich war am Anfang skeptisch, ob eine Akkuflex fr etwas ber 100 Euronen auch wirklich die Power hat, die man zum Arbeiten braucht oder eher nur mal ein Spielzeug ist. Ich bin mal wieder positiv berrascht, das Teil hat die gleiche Power wie das was man von einer 220V kabelgebunden Flex gewohnt ist.
Der Korpus ist auch ohne Akku schon grer (hauptschlich lnger) und auch schwerer wie so die bliche Flex fr 115mm Scheiben. Der Griff ist ergonomisch gut geformt und angenehm gummiert, was die Sache auch griffiger gestaltet. Der Druckschalter lsst sich am Griff mit dem Zeigefinger besser, schneller und sicherer bettigen als die blichen Schiebeschalter, die ich bei einer Flex gewohnt bin. Der Sicherungsschalter wird mit dem Daumen bettigt. Insgesamt liegt die Flex gut in der Hand. Man kann damit auch mal kurz einhndig arbeiten.
Einen Wermutstropfen hat die Flex aber beim Handling: so, wie man die Flex mit dem Griff hlt, zeigt die Trennscheibe horizontal/waagerecht von einem weg. Das ist gut zum Schleifen, aber unhandlich zum Schneiden, zumindest am Anfang aber sehr ungewohnt. Da htte ich den Kopf mit der Trennscheibe lieber um 90 gedreht.
Der mitgelieferte Haltegriff kann links oder rechts am vorderen Teil der Flex angeschraubt werden. Der Haltegriff sieht etwas billig aus, ist aber noch ok. Der Handschutz wird mit einem Schnellspanner festgeklemmt, man braucht also keinen Schraubendreher, um das Teil umzusetzen.
Insgesamt ein sehr gutes Teil, ich arbeite gerne damit.
Wenn Ihr bisher die 2AH DeWalt Akkus verwendet, dann tut Euch was Gutes und besorgt Euch fr die Flex die 5AH Akkus. Das Teil zieht ordentlich Power.

Good quality equipment from DeWalt as usual. Bought a 5Ah battery as the 3Ah discharged quite quickly. Used it for cutting metal pipes and brick with ease.

Great angle grinder, easy to use, I have had quite a few cable angle grinders and they all work great, but without a cable to worry about, it makes life a lot easier. It does use a lot of the power from battery, but having a few 18 volt batteries means it wasn’t a problem.

Very good money value for money when purchased. Easy disc replacement with the gripped nut and spindle lock. Shield can easily be moved by use of quick lock. Needs to be used with 4-5ah battery as the drain under use. Overall very nice to use in the hand

I bought this since I have the 6 piece Dewalt 18V kit and add it to my set. All the batteries are interchangeable.
Has a safety power release mechanism to prevent the grinder starting by accident.
Has a screw on handle which can be placed either side to suit the left or right handed DIYer.
Discs are easily locked in place with the grinder key.
Good power but unsure how quickly this consumes power (I have 4 Ah batteries)
Grinding discs need ordering separately, say for concrete or metal cutting.

Lgre et pratique, idale pour avoir une meuleuse immdiatement oprationnelle sans fil la patte : j’ai meul, trononn et ponc : aucun problme.
En revanche elle consomme sa batterie assez vite (une 5Ah me dure entre 15min et 25min) et la fait chauffer. Donc mieux vaut avoir 2 (ou mme 3) batteries, pour pouvoir travailler tranquillement (et les laisser refroidir avant chargement).
Pour les gros ou longs travaux, j’utilise toujours une filaire 1700W : a reste plus efficace.
Mais c’est un trs bon outil complmentaire, que je ne regrette absolument pas.
Et elle est financirement abordable pour un particulier, du moins si vous avez dj batteries et chargeur dans la marque.

It’s a (relatively) cheap angle grinder but being cordless makes it so useful, having something you can pickup and use anywhere is brilliant.
The switch is well designed and easy to use and the spindle lock is conveniently placed.

Just got around to using this. Alongside my Makita.115. The main difference here is the ability do do jobs a distance out on the land, without having to rig up power supplies. Often just cutting a couple of bolts on a broken piece of machinery in a field for example. Or with a bigger job, having a couple of fully charged 4ah batteries means plenty of work can be done. There is a convert here. Me !

Well balanced relatively light angle grinder what you would expect from a Company like Dewalt. Start up is gentle so no sudden kick of centrifugal force which is the norm with angle grinders. Also liked the keyless method of changing guard position when its required to do so. Came with an extended 3 year warranty which for a keen DIY user such as I it was an added bonus.

Good angle grinder, but the handle is a bit thick so sometimes it makes it awkward to use otherwise no issues.
Not a replacement for a 110v but certainly has its place in the tool box. Stick a Milwaukee lock nut on it and you are good to go for a quick solution.
Again, the name says it all. Dewalt. In my humble opinion. The Best.

Exactly as described and what I required, seems to work perfectly.
This is a great tool – not too heavy and nicely balanced (with a 4AH battery pack). It’s nice to handle and the guard works well. If you’ve already got a deWalt XR cordless setup for your power tools, this is a great addition. Used for hobbyist metalwork and DIY, it might be a bit over-specc’d for the task at hand but the built quality and handling are excellent and I’m happy to pay a little extra to have something that works with my existing battery /charger setup.

I use one of these grinders at work daily, I work in an intense industry where tools get thrown around a lot! These grinders have been dropped in wet concrete countless times, dropped on the floor, used constantly (12 hour shifts) on jobs such as Crossrail – which is about the most demanding project you will get. They just keep going. I’m incredibly impressed with the tools DeWalt are producing nowadays. You will never burn it out using it in a casual DIY way, I am convinced it will last for life if not abused like ours, even though that hasn’t stopped ours yet. 100% buy it without any hesitation.

Another Dewalt tool to add to my ever increasing cordless collection. I have used this several times now cutting slate , tiles and raking out the odd brickwork joint to install lead flashings. This easily handles all the above and is only limited by size and quantity of battery you have. It is comfortable to hold and use and is much easier to carry up a ladder than an electric grinder trailing cables. This is slightly lower power than the corded grinders but has many more pluses than minuses. This is a bare unit which comes with no case, no blades or battery so you will need to have them in or order at the same time to use it. It does come with the screw in handle and the blade/wheel change tool.
