Nice clean lines
Liked the way it slots into the space. A pity there is such a large protruding knob at the top left.
I haven’t used the heating part, I just bought it for the flame effect which is the focal point of the fireplace.

Very pleased with the Dimplex Wynford inset fire with Optiflame Effect. It arrived very quickly and well packaged. Easy to install in our fireplace. Didn’t require the spacer kit which was supplied as it fitted perfectly into the opening. Good heat from the fan heater and the flame effect is very nice. Not as bright as our previous one but happy that it is very silent when on flame effect and just a little noise when fan heat is on.

Extra warmth
My partners parents have just had their old fire ripped out and their bungalow fitted with a new central heating system. So she decided we would get them an electric heater for their frontroom to go were their old fire was. This was our choice and what a great decision it was. Her parents love it and seeing as they’re both retired and spend most of their time when home in their frontroom they can have this on instead of the central heating. This saves them money whilst keeping them warm.
Slim
Replacing an older model which was rather ugly and boxy. This one is much slimmer so looks much more within fireplace than sitting in front of it. Simple and non-fussy design suits our old house.

Very realistic
We love this fire. We needed to replace our gas fire and wanted something which looked realistic. This fit the bill and we are thoroughly enjoying it.
One minor gripe is that the lovely ’ember glow’ also shines out of a strip at the bottom of the fire. Ideally they would have put a strip there to prevent that happening. We blocked it ourselves
We haven’t tried the heater properly as yet – other than switching it on for a moment to see that a) it worked and b) there was a reasonable amount of heat – as it’s too warm for heating at present. If it doesn’t heat well then I will update this review.

This fire replaces a Dimplex Opti-Myst which was purchased in 2010 and after needing a replacement sump (100 plus) 2 years ago it finally gave up the ghost last month. After pushing the side and top trims into place it just slides into the fireplace and hopefully will be less fuss than the other one that required topping up with water every few days. I don’t like giving 5 stars for anything but the fire looks good and the Optiflame effect is cheerful.

Fantastic item
Wanted to replace our old gas fire but keep fireplace. Considered lots of options until I came across this. Didn’t want freestanding so went with inset. Old fire out, new one slotted in just fine (with a bit of chiselling out of fireplace). Easy to follow instructions. End result is a lovely, modern fire which gives off lots of heat, even on setting one. Can just have flame effect on and the room feels warmer. Yes fan takes a bit of getting use to, but will soon be un-noticable after a few uses. Well worth the money.
The opti flame effect is superb, best I’ve seen. Although more expensive than a lot of others on Amazon I am glad I paid the extra as it’s a lovely fire.
The only downside is that the LED fire glow bulbs cannot be replaced. They do say though that on average use of 8hrs a day they should last between 11 to 15 years. Time will tell I suppose.

Arrived on date scheduled, received well packaged and in good condition, fire as described. Fire looks nice, only downside is that the coal pieces are very small and have to be carefully arranged otherwise they fall through Grate bars.

I bought this fire to replace a cheaper mistake which was not inset. I like the brushed stainless steel look of this fire and my fireplace now looks finished. The back of the fire is mirrored. White stones give it a more modern feel than fake coal. The switches are also very easy to use if you have mobility problems. The fire is a fan heater so there is some noise on the first setting which I have included a video of. The higher setting is more noisy but the first setting was more than enough to warm my living room.

I am very pleased with this fire it is even better than it looks in the pictures.
This is almost perfect and the bits that aren’t perfect aren’t all that important. It doesn’t quite fit into my fireplace, being an inch taller and an inch narrower, but you don’t notice that unless you’re standing right over it. It really does make the room cosy, something I augmented with a looping clip of a crackling fire playing on my Amazon Echo bluetooth speaker. Since the speaker is always-on Alexa, that was just using something I had there anyway.
With the glow on it makes you feel warmer and cosier. With the heater on it is pretty good too

Just put this in today. Lovely flame effect nice and realistic. Also excellent heat output. For this price it’s excellent value for money considering in one of my local stores it is 300 euro.

looks good and it looks expensive the photos don’t do it justice used on the first setting during winter and it kept the room warm its an older type house with high ceilings so it did its job well

An excellent buy. I’ve just removed the old gas fire from my buy to let house and installed this electric fire. It looks very smart, gives out a lot of heat, and the power cable is unobtrusively fed out through the back so it’s not noticeable. I paid less than a hundred quid for ‘good as new’ fire, only the box was damaged, so it’s an absolute bargain. And no pesky gas safety checks!

The one issue I have is that there is a problem with the instructions in my opinion they should recommend that when lifting the fire gloves should be worn at all times as the edges to the brass surround are very sharp in fact lethal as my wife cut three of her fingers badly when we were removing the fire from its box.

Wow this fire is just beautiful. Came solidly packaged and slotted right into my fireplace. The flame on its own just to create a nice focal point works well, and the fan heater in two settings is good for when it’s colder. Love it!!

Very good value for money. Replaced our flame effect gas fire that we simply didn’t use. It’s nice to just have a glow sometimes without any extra heat in the room. If I have one criticism about this fire it would be the ugly black cable that is only about six inches long before it interconnects with a kettle lead like a computer users. This makes it difficult to obscure although we did disguise it behind a vase. The fan noise is noticeable but no more than any other fan heater and I would imagine that anyone in the room would soon become accustomed to it.

I got this to replace my real coal gas fire as we’ve had had this removed as to be honest we only really want the flame look. It was dispatched really quickly and arrived in excellent condition but the item was scratched inside the box see photos. It’s a beautiful fire and compliments my granite hearth and back panel. It covers the old fire trim, so you would never guess there was a coal fire chimney sitting behind it. It comes with white pebbles but to be honest you could use coal or any pebble or stone you desire. We use the white pebbles and with the imitation flame effect is quite hypnotic. I have mine on just the flame effect so no heat is produced, but it has 2 heat settings with a temperature thermostat that can be adjusted. I would recommend to anyone providing you don’t receive a damaged item like me.
Please note this item if it had not been damaged would have received 5 stars and not 4 as I scored this on my review. I will add that these are fine and hard to see when fitted but very obvious when laid down and if it had not had been for the hassle I would have returned the item for a replacement. So for the poor images of the scratches they were really hard to get to show up on the camera and this damage is on the front left chrome trim going up the fire place

bought this from homebase for 130, great fire for money heat setting a little noisy but only wanted it for flame effect. flame effect not bad at all seen more expensive fires with poor flame effect. very pleased with it.
This fire was delivered 2 days after ordering it! I is lovely, throws out a lot of heat even with one switch. The flame effect is very real, looking as though it comes from all over. Would certainly recommend it. It was just a little short if covering my 18″ opening, but still looked great.
