I haven’t had the opportunity to test the cart in the garden.
However, I would like to comment on the instructions. They are difficult to follow and sometimes to understand.
Patience is needed and I don’t have much of that.
Tip: Lay out all the parts required for each step including the tools.
Follow the instruction steps and attach the frame to the cart when instructed.
All the screws, nuts etc are sealed in a card for each step. This is very useful.
Life is a lot easier if it’s assembled with two people.

The cart is well made and all the holes in the cart body corresponded to the holes in the metal frame.

A useful plus is that the cart can tip.

Overall I’m pleased with the cart. It’s a quality product at a reasonable price.

Useful cart for medium to light loads. Plastic tends to bend with heavier loads.

UPDATE- I WAS HAPPY BEFORE, BUT NOW I’VE HAD TO HAVE A WARRANTY CLAIM, I’M REALLY REALLY HAPPY. GREAT SERVICE FROM DAN AT EPIC TOOLS WELL DONE. END OF UPDATE.
read the reviews and came to the conclusions that people shouldn’t leave a bad review because they can’t read instructions or because they don’t own the correct tools needed. This is a brilliant cart. it’s easy to pull, manoeuvre and tip. So lets talk about assembly. All these carts regarless of make need putting together. You will need tools and not just a screwdriver from the kitchen drawer. You will need large flat head screwdriver 10mm wide preferably a ratchet. Socket set. Mole grips would be good too. A bicycle pump preferably a stirrup pump with gauge, the tyres are only partially inflated and wiil need pumping to 30psi. Top tip… dont unpack all the nuts and bolts, simply cut out the ones needed as you reed the instructions they are labelled step 1 step 2 etc. that way you will get the right size screws for the job. The foam handle grip looks soft so I wrapped it with black insulation tape to make it harder wearing. It took me about 1 hour. If you don’t have all the tools don’t be put off they all need assembling and this is a good price just buy or borrow what you need or better still ask someone else to put it together if your not up to a challenge. My back really appreciates not buying a wheelbarrow.

I'll never use a standard wheelbarrow agai

Assembly instructions need a rewrite and cross head screws should be replace the slot headed ones.

Luckily I found a good English speaking video on Youtube – search for ‘How to assemble SLG Garden Dump Cart’ which is similar to the Draper cart but excludes fitting Part number 3.
At 2 mins into the video you have to add your part No3 to the plastic tub with the other assembly as shown in Draper instructions Step 2. This allows to plastic tub to tilt.

I liked the fact that it is a breeze to carry a heavy load compared to a wheelbarrow with no issues of manoeuvring and balance. I was going to purchase off Amazon but I needed it in a hurry and found one local but more expensive – needs must.

    Hope this helps you

This is a great design and fulfils my needs for carrying all sorts of garden materials around my rather large garden. Once put together it is sturdy and up for the job. Unfortunately the matter that lets it down is in assembling the cart using very small print and attempting to follow the process effectively. It took about 3 hours and I still made some mistakes which I subsequently had to rectify.

Sturdy and very useful about the allotment. Makes shifting large and heavy stuff much easier. Instructions are OK but it took two of us over an hour and a half to assemble. Worth the effort.

Like other’s have written, the instructions need some “interpretation” but after an hour I’d managed to put it together by myself. Great trolley for the allotment and really sturdy when (eventually) put togethe

It’s great, the tipping bit is the best part of it. I have used it loads and it seems durable so far. The instructions are shocking though, they definitely need changing into more user-friendly-Instructions.

Bit of a faff to assemble, you need to be an octopus or get another pair of hands to help you!
That aside it’s a brilliant bit of kit & would definitely 100% recommend!

All the screws should have been in compartments in the bag but were all mixed together so took some time to sort them out! Instructions were bad , but we are not the first to comment on that!

Once assembled (not for the faint hearted) it has been brilliant. I use it daily for transporting tools, but the best has been filling with weeds and tipping them on to the communal composting site, saving my back.

A little complicated to put together but very sturdy and great for lugging bags of compost from the car to the garden!

Much better made than my old one of nearly 20 years which rusted away recently. Steel and paint is better quality. Book yourself just over an hour to put together, and as others have advised, use 8mm penny washers for bolts inside the plastic hopper. This will protect against some damage to the plastic when using it. Quality item, recommend.
Downside….cheap Chinese nuts and bolts. Screwdriver slots need to be deeper, and the steel of fixings need to be of better standard. This will probably ‘see me out’.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAbsolutely brilliant piece of kit!!

I’ve been digging a large area in the garden for a patio to go in and having used an old wheel barrow to transport all the soil it was so much hard work so thought I’d get one of these (which are hard to come by!).

I was a bit dubious of the plastic shell but it is really durable, probably more so than a thin metal one like a wheelbarrow which just warps if you load over a certain amount in it. This thing can take it all!

I had 4 tonnes of hardcore subase rocks delivered so I have definitely put it through a lot and it’s managed it perfectly! It’s so much easier than a wheel barrow.
No more tipping over, the 4 wheels and metal base make it very stable and a lot easier to manoeuvre with the pull handle and articulated wheels to turn almost 90.

The hardest part was putting it together which took about an hour, just fiddly with tightening bolts with a socket and trying to hold them on the opposite side with a flathead screwdriver or a wrench but once that’s done you can’t go wrong.

It says 200kg max load which is a bit more than the others on the market I researched and it certainly stood up to that as I reckon I loaded it up to that a fair few times.

It might be a lot of money at almost 100 but I can certainly say it’s paid for itself in manual labour time for myself if I was to use a wheelbarrow so definitely worth it for me!

No doubt for smalle jobs this little truck will last a very long time!

    Absolutely perfect, get it!

Relatively easy to assemble, it just takes a little time and patience. It is a good looking little trailer barrow, much easier to cart stuff around the garden in than a conventional barrow. Plus you can pull it with one hand whilst opening gates etc. you can’t do that with a normal barrow. I use mine for bringing logs up to the house from my log shed, in the dark I have a spare hand for my torch. Mine pretty much lives outside at the moment, so I hope it copes with our climate, but it seems very well made.

Quite easy to assemble. Metalwork looks ‘up to the job’.

Maybe the weakest part will be the plastic bathtub; however it should be quite a simple job to replace that with a large industrial storage box or DIY one. The Draper version has frame under the rear tipping point to distrubute the weight: this is a significant advantage over the cheaper Power King.

This model is reasonably well made (a bit better than the Power King).

The package arrived about 12 ,opened a beer lit a cigar .put the screw diver on charge and read the instruction. No immediate problem ,got my wife to hold the screw driver when attaching the tray ,a bit difficult she didn’t know how to hold a screw driver and she is also left handed. I also used extra washers [Wilko ] on both side when attaching the tray just to prevent the bolts pulling through on another day.Thread s bit dodgy on the wheel axel but a hack saw soon put that to rights. Debating whether to put drainage holes in the tray .Total time1hout 20 minute.

I needed one of these to move some logs from the delivery point to my woodshed. I had expected something bigger but it was OK. You need a degree in engineering to work out the instructions and a second pair of hands would be helpful too. But a nice little sturdy unit. Pricey for what you get but they are all about this price so I guess its what we are willing to pay

  32. PhillipF71 says:

Instructions poor but if you use common sense and the pictures I managed relatively easily. Brilliant for moving logs etc around outside. Very manoeuvrable and so much easier than a wheelbarrow especially when you reach a ‘certain age’ and strength begins to go.

Find my little cart so useful for transporting heavy pots and bags of compost etc. around the garden. I also find it easy to pull up steps and manoeuvre round obstacles while the tipping mechanism is excellent. Loved it so much I bought one for my daughter.

This cart has taken much abuse over 3 years and has been used to cary heavy pots around the garden, bricks and used to mix cement for small building jobs. The body and frame are still good but the tyres cracked and deflated after 12 months as they have no UV protection so were replaced with the solid yellow type and have been ok since so if you can find one with these fitted as standard I would pay the extra. I have given 5 stars despite the tyres due to the how well the cart has performed over such a long time.

Excellent little cart, I added some spacer washers to the wheel hubs so they ran better, was expecting less quality but I was quite surprised, I couldn’t make one at this price so I thought I could beef it up as bits breaks, beware not to use the handle to push the cart backwards loaded unless you lower the angle as it put a strain on the steering gear and arm, the only part I can say is weak looking at the moment, a terry clip to stow the handle in the upright position will stop you tripping over it or worse, stepping on it and bending the steering gear. Worth every penny (unpaid promotion)

Have moved 10 tonnes of topsoil & compost with this truck in the three weekends of receiving this cart & it’s done the job no problems (can’t say that for my back) . Bigger load carrying capacity than a wheelbarrow & easier over rough/broken ground with 4 pneumatic tyres

My wife and I are both retired, I have a disability that makes most tasks very difficult and most times things have to be executed by my wife. Our garden is large and despite trying to get a gardener to take on the garden we are left in need. This little truck is just amazing, it does take a large load with ease and is easy enough for my wife and sometimes myself to use. Brilliant product.

This is my third trolley and build quality and sturdiness is superb. Draper after sales technical support was excellent helping me overcome a slight technical issue. Wish I could say the same about Amazon, who as usual “didn’t want to know”.

A fantastic purchase and well worth the money. It has paid for itself multiple times over. Very sturdy and manoeuvrable. Articulated for ease of access into narrow spaces. Air filled tyres with good grip. The fact that it tips is invaluable. Money well spent.

  46. Anonymous says:

One very small gripe is the tipper function. The soil/rubble is difficult to tip as it requires a lot of physical effort for you to fully lift the cart and it is difficult to get the last of the soil/rubble out due to the lip. Beware sharp rubble can also split the plastic body.

These are very minor issues, as I was using the cart at max capacity for a week solid whilst landscaping my front garden.

A bit fiddly to put together and probably needs two in places or one person and a lot of patience. It is well engineered though and the frame is solid. Sadly the plastic upper is less so. It’s quite flimsy given the sturdy frame and downhill is quite challenging (we have a slope at the end of the garden). So if you don’t have a flat garden you may need to find something else. On balance, once it is up it’s a good piece of kit and very manoeuvrable.

  49. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

Assembly took a little longer than expected, even with two people. However, the effort was well worth it as I was then able to shift tons of soil with much less back-breaking effort than would have been the case using a wheelbarrow.

I ORDERED THE CART WHICH DID NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT “SELF ASSEMBLY” THE BOC ARRIVED AND I OPENED IT HOPING TO USE IT BUT IT CAME IN MANY PARTS WITH A VERY POOR PLAN TO ASSEMBLE IT I AM ALMOST 70 AND I AM A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN AND WORKED IN A DRAWING OFFICE AND SUBMITTED PLANS FOR A EXTENSION FOR MY HOME WITHOUT PROBLEMS I WROTE TO THEM AND THEY ASKED ME TO CONTACT YOU AND ASK YOU TO INCLUDE IN YOUR ADVERT THAT “SKILLED SELF ASSEMBLY REQUIRED ” PLEASE CAN YOU DO THIS AS I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED IT IF I HAD KNOWN HOW MUCH WORK WAS REQUIRED

The cart overall is great and easy to manover .

The main issue is the build and instructions, you need a good spanner set or two sockets sets an well as a large flat head screw driver .
The instructions are pretty dam awful and it’s easier just to look at the main picture and work out where things go .

Took around 30/40 mins to build overall

And the dogs love it ..

Good cart but a bit of a challenge to put togethe

    Very good maneuverability.
Easy to put together took about 15 mins.
    Looks well made.
The only thing I think is not so good is the Tub, It feels quite flimsy and I wouldn’t expect it to last to long if I’m
loading it with anything like rocks. For around 50 it’s a great buy. It’s not heavy duty, I feel it would be great if the tub was 6mm mdpe. But I would expect it to be three times the price.
Very good for the price. great for carting bags of compost, potted plants and tools about. I think if it had 200 kilos of rocks it would take a toll on the tub though.

It took two people to put this together with ratchet tools and appropriate screw driver.
We made an error and had to undo the mechanism for the tipping bit. This was because of the instructions being so unclear.

Good truck however a couple of assembly issues.
You need a large flat head screw driver for the Hopper assembly. It’s awkward anyway without the need for a screwdriver many people will not own.
A couple of the M8 bolts would not accept the nuts, the threads were damaged at the end of the nut. I had to use a couple of my own. Same issue on one of the axle threads, I had to use a needle file to clean the thread before it would accept the nut.
I am lucky I had everything I needed to resolve these issues..
I hope the truck performs well when I start using i
