There’s a sponge type with ridge on the bar itself it makes it easier to grip. It’s easy to change the dumbells to a barbell
I have been pleased with these adjustable dumbbells so far. The set itself looks good quality and well made.
During the lockdown periods, I felt it was time to start looking after myself. I purchased a skipping rope, dumbbell set and a foldable bench. I was at the point where I needed more weights and came across these adjustable dumbbells that amazingly also becomes a barbell. I didn’t really want to invest in a separate barbell that would need its own weights as I dont have that much space. With this set I can enhance my workout now.
The dumbells themselves are on the bulky side but I didn’t mind this too much. I liked the quality of the bars and the locking nuts that came with this product. The locking nuts themselves give a very secure lock so there is no chance of the weights coming off. The bars themselves also have a nice weight to them.
One place where it does lack is warranty. You would expect a purchase of this to have some period of warranty on it.
Time will tell how good this product is, but for the time being I am pleased with this purchase.
I like the fact that they are so easy to put together and how soft they are when I am working out. I got some gloves with them and they are useful so I don’t get blisters. I am more than pleased with my purchase, definitely recommend them, they are exactly what I expected.

I am in the process of sourcing several components for an outdoor all weather gym in the garden. I needed a set of weights and and bars to use with the bench and weight stand. I was looking for a plastic set of weight rather than cast iron which would stand up to weather better. My main reason for purchase was for medium strength training and NOT body building, I am a runner / cyclist so looking for lean muscular not bulkier build.
The set come with a connector rod and two screw in extension bar attachments, as well as 4 of each weight plates denominations (1.25, 1.5, 2, 2.5). The modular nature of the bars means you can configure them as either a single long lifting bar in several layouts or a as two barbell style weights. Weights can be secured using a total of 4 included plastic locking nuts. One thing to note that is not immediately obvious but important in the pictures is the weight plates are notched meaning that it will prevent the bar and weights from rolling when on the floor. Versatility of the bars means configuration in a number of ways to create different combinations of style to suit a specific exercise, great for me and my wife who have different needs. Overall well priced durable versatile and largely weatherproof weight set.
