I bought this 3D resin printer to compliment my Snapmaker A350 FDM printer and get far better miniature figuring prints then the FDM can do. The FDM will be used for larger projects the Saturn S is unable to print. A pity that within a short time of buying this, Elegoo released the Saturn 2 which I would have chosen had I known beforehand. Regardless to say, it is still ideal for what I intended to use it for.
The printer is extremely easy to set up and produces superb prints providing it is level which is important. One thing I found out that wasn’t mentioned or included with the product is how important it is to have an LED screen protector to save on the expense of buying a replacement should you spill resin on the LED screen, or your vat film fail. I found the best one for the Saturn S is Mach5ive Screen Saver- Clear Screen Protector for Resin 3D Printers which is easy to apply.
A feature I would have like to see in the Saturn S was a Wi-fi feature to send .stl files to the printer rather than use a USB stick. It’s not such a big deal really unless your printer is in another room from where you have your desktop or laptop.
In all, I recommend this product. The after sales support is spot on, should you need it too.
This machine is amazing, within 20 minutes I was printing test prints! Even more amazing is the customer service, I had 1 small issue with my machine and within 2 working days the replacement had been delivered no questions asked. Forget your anycubic, elegoo is the way forward, cannot wait until the jupiter is available.
I’ve had my Saturn for around 9 months now and this review reflects many 100’s of hours of using it. Just like the Mars, the Saturn is incredibly straightforward to use; just add resin, add print file, print. No messing around for hours and hours trying to find the right settings. Of course you can tweak these (to your hearts content) to get ‘perfect’ prints, but things print pretty perfectly using stock settings. Resin printing itself is a little less straightforward that I imply here, you do need to give a fair amount of thought to creating supports but this will be true on any machine.
The Saturn, like the Mars, is nicely designed and well made. I first bought a Mars 2, which I also use almost daily, and was fearful until I received it that it would be a bit cheap and cheerful. Not so. Both printers are machined and manufactured to a very high standard using high quality materials, they are robust and I am expecting to get many years use out of both. I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to buy another Elegoo product.
A bit about aftercare. I’ve needed support from elegoo a couple of times over the last year and they have simply been excellent; they actually help, rather than brush you off or send you on a wild goose chase. Probably the best company in this respect that I’ve dealt with for years.
Last but not least, some tips;
– if you are undecided between a Mars and Saturn, go Saturn. You will use the extra capacity sooner than you think. I know I will be very, very tempted by the Jupiter when it becomes available.
– buy the wash and cure kit as well. It makes the end to end process much cleaner and is worth the extra cost
– resins are down to personal choice but my go-to is the elegoo ABS-like. I have tried a few others but return to this again and again because the end result is invariably excellent.
If you are going to upgrade from your Mars to this do not expect an easy transition there is much to learn and change from any small printer settings to make them work with the bigger printers which many prints in I’m still tweaking the settings now and then.
I’d say it kinda sucks too you don’t get a bracket to hold the plate at an angle once complete for the resin to drip in.
But for bulk printing and bugger items this is your machine
Apart from the Elegoo Saturn being a great printer and amazing value for money. I wanted to mention Elegoo’s customer service. When you buy a piece of equipment such as the Elegoo Saturn, I feel its really important to have good robust customer support. And you cant get any better support than what you get from the team at Elegoo. Already Ive had a couple of issues where I needed their help. In my experience the customer service team have always been professional, polite and efficient in their response to my queries, questions and issues.

For newbies venturing into this hobby, the Saturn is a great start. May be a step more than the Mars though. Fantastic quality, great customer service from Elegoo , availability of spares. It is worth checking out lots of YouTube reviews before purchases, purely to get the terminology (fep, vat, resin, nitrile, IPA, build plate, etc).
The build plate is large enough to scale up models and not lose quality or details. Larger models come out stunning. There’s plenty of free files available online to get yourself started. And the free ChituBox software is easy to use. Load a file, slice it, save it to the supplied (or your own) USB stick, pop it in the printer and off you go. Although the ChituBox Pro version costs $169 per year for a license, it is not a requirement, but the Pro does have much better tools included. There is free software available if you look for it.
In my opinion, resin printing provides much better quality over filament printing. No stepping or patterns on the print. Bear in mind resin requires patience (with ‘dialing in’ different resin settings), and requires additional purchases if you’re taking it seriously. I bought silicone mats (inert to resin), a Draeger face mask (resin fumes are dangerous), nitrile gloves (not vinyl or latex), UV protective safety glasses (NoCry), Elegoo’s “wash & cure” set, Isopropyl Alcohol (in 5l containers!), steel funnels (pouring filtered resin back into containers), spare “fep” (the clear sheet at the bottom of the resin container), the Elegoo mini extraction filters (seems small, but REALLY good at removing the majority of the fumes), plastic airtight boxes (for cleaning and storage), tonnes of spare kitchen roll. The list goes on… I now have an entire workbench dedicated to 3d printing. See photos.
Overall I’m still new to it. Prepare to have some failures along the way. And be super patient with removing any prints off the build plate, be gentle and protective over the LCD screen at the bottom (don’t get resin on it, or it’ll cure and then that bit of the screen won’t print anymore!), and don’t use a metal scraper to get rid of failed prints that have stuck to the sensitive and thin fep in the vat. Good luck!
This is my first ever 3d printer and I’m impressed! So much so I went and bought a Mars and wash station. I was given a challenge to make Christmas gifts this year and the Saturn didn’t let me down, I was able to build ideas in tinkercad and transport with ease to chutbox. The large build size meant I was able to make the giant models (19cm) in one piece. I had one problem with a fan and Elegoo immediately sent a replacement. Excellent customer service.!
Tips to get the best from your machine I’ve found so far with trial and error are:
Don’t put your printer near a window, drafts and sunlight can be a problem
When downloading the chutbox check resolution settings as they are incorrect( should be X:3840 Y:2400
I have found that using these settings after much testing( 6 bottles of 1kg resin) I don’t have anymore failed prints, ( these settings work on both Elegoo and anycubic Resin of all colours)
Settings-Print
Layer height: 0.03mm or 0.04mm (depending on detail)
Bottom Layer count :6
Exposure Time : 3 s
Bottom Exposure Time: 15s Max ( excellent build plate)
Light off:0
Bottom light off delay:0
Bottom Lift distance:8mm
Lifting Distance: 7mm
Bottom lift speed :40mm ( speed at which it removes print fromFEP)( too low won’t lift, to high will pull off)
Lifting speed: 120mm ( speed at which it lefts out of the tray)
Retract speed:180mm(speed going back down) to high and it will cause sloshing over the sides.
If using supports, I always add a skate raft and increase all raft settings by 10%
Last but not least angle your print at 35-45 degrees this should stop failed or warped printing.
Also buy either a spare FEP sheet pack or a screen cover to protect your LCD screen as you will get resin spills and over time it damages the screen. Do not scrap it off as it damages the film beneath.
I really do love this machine and can’t wait till May to purchase the Jupiter!
I have not looked back since purchase this printer is fantastic I have had to contact customer service for replacement screen as FEP leaked and cured onto screen but that was my own fault, however elegoo are replacing under warranty they where quick to respond and quick to ship new produc
So, I will preface this with I had a bit of a teething issue with the screen but I had what was probably one of the best customer service from the support team. They got my issue sorted, help with trouble shooting, and ended up replacing the screen with no issues. They helped me through the process of getting it up and running. It was easy, pleasant, and just what the gold standard for service should have been.
As a new user of printers in general it was a bit of a learning curve and I do not think the saturn is the place to start as a first timer. Its good, and once you get it set up and dialed in it works like a dream. BUT as it is a bigger picture suction forces played a bit more of a role and I had to learn how to manage that. That isn’t a fault of the machine. Just something to note and you really want to dial your stuff in. I have printed plenty with it and I am happy i got it.
I have a Elegoo Mars pro which I like a lot, so thought I would get another Elegoo. I decided to get the Elegoo Saturn the printer is great. Larger size and better quality prints, easy to use & set up.
This printer works perfectly for everything I need it for, which is as a hobby printer and for printing prototypes for university.
It’s essentially plug and play, just level the bed and you’re off.
The detail is honestly incredible, I would upload pics and videos but Amazon wants access to both my camera and camera roll for that and no thanks.
It even prints the skin details on a gwenom figure, I was very surprised.
Couldn’t recommend this printer more.
This printer is so easy to get started with, and the print quality is fantastic. I have used the JG maker in the bast and had problems all the time using it. The ELEGOO Saturn MSLA 3D Printers is so easy to use and was up and running in under ten minutes and I have had no issues printing any models. 100% recommend this printer.
This is my second Elegoo printer, I had a Mars for a year before this was announced and decided to upgrade. After I spilt some resin on it the touch screen stopped responding, but Elegoo were excellent in sending out one to replace it.

Having purchased two Anycubic Mono x’s previously. I was ready to give up on 3D printing. The Saturn was like a breath of fresh air, great prints with all the features working as advertised. Unlike Anycubics offerings.
If your in the market for a larger 3D resin printer and have narrowed it down to an Elegoo or Anycubic machine. Trust me and choose the Elegoo and save yourself a lot of frustration.

I have wanted a 3D printer since I first saw one at a fair when I was much younger. At that time, they were very expensive and only for big companies who wanted to prototype their new products. I never thought I would be able to have one.
First let me say this thing is amazing!
PROS: – Amazing resolution!
– Being a monochromatic screen, the lines are crisp and exposure times are much less than normal multicolour screens
– Build plate size is great too! Lots of room to fit all your models and then some.
– Vat size is also good. Being able to hold around 500ml of resin.
CONS: These are mostly learning curves you’ll need to go through but here goes
– Build plate adhesion. Contrary to what other people experience, I had a major problem getting my first print off the build pate. Dial in your bottom exposure time ( I use around 30s). Getting a flexible build plate changed my life! Here is the one I got: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B094F8MS4Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
– Clean up can be a bit of an issue. I’d recommend stocking up on: Paper towel, gloves, Isopropyl alcohol. Getting some clear plastic containers large enough to pour 5l of IPA in, and put them in front of a sunny window will help to cure off any dissolved resin and prolong your stocks of alcohol.
– I’d also recommend getting a wash and cure station. Make sure you get the big one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ELEGOO-Mercury-Machine-Printed-Turntable/dp/B095WYMPRW/ref=bmx_dp_u14tyjun_3/258-2541548-6131533?pd_rd_w=53zle&pf_rd_p=40958b19-42f5-43f1-9744-12c56978a078&pf_rd_r=XPC53EHEENNK79MSV0J7&pd_rd_r=48e9d9bc-6f50-4747-bbc5-9b5111e27e4c&pd_rd_wg=0HfyE&pd_rd_i=B0863TS839&th=1
– Make sure that the room you are printing in is at a constant temperature. A big drop in temperature can have a negative affect on printing.
Most of all, remember to level your build plate as per manufacturers instructions. You’d be surprised how many problems it fixes. Filter your resin, little bits of cured resin can get stuck in the vat and stuck onto other prints. Remember to clean your vat (short exposure under tools menu. This will cure a thin layer of resin onto your FEP that will get rid of any failed prints that got stuck.
Always remember to cure all resin parts before disposal as uncured resin is considered chemical waste until cured. I normally leave them in the sun for a bit then dispose.
Customer support were really amazing! Thank you so much guys for answering my questions.
I’d highly recommend this printer to anyone wanting to get into 3D resin printing. You will struggle to find this level of quality for this price.

I bought the ELEGOO Saturn around a month ago, Its a fantastic printer and I’m using it every day. I had an issue with one of the parts on the printer and contacted Elegoo from there website direct, and they sent me a part out straight away.
The results I get from the printer are fantastic, I’m very happy with it..
I have been using this machine for the past 8 months. Printings are consistently good quality. The product support is a great help, they respond promptly and with the proper solution.
Solid product.
This is my first 3d printer. Beyond the quality of the product I have been impressed with the technical support. Whenever I have had a query, response has been fast and accurate
This was my first foray into 3D resin printing and they wanted a larger build plate to enable me to print larger items so I’m really pleased about getting this satin over anything else. It turned out to be really simple to setup and very easy to use. The user interface is is intuitive and and it needs a little bit of of personal tweaking in the slicer software you use for individual items but overall very easy see and effective printer that is able to print incredibly detailed items

Got this and only used it for a couple of weeks, maybe 10 prints or so and something went wrong with my screen, however I got on to elegoo and was suprised by how quick they respond to emails, after explaining the problem they sent me a brand new screen, free of charge which arrived the next day! Fantastic service and printer, i cannot fault it.
I have an anycubic machine also and it is dead because the screen on that one was cracked on arrival, I am still awaiting a replacement screen 6 months later..
The difference between elegoo and anycubic is Night and Day! I cant tell you how much it helps to have such good customer service.. buy elegoo!
The Elegoo Saturn resin printer allows for much larger constructions. I’m building carriages for 3.5″ gauge railway and the size afforded to constructing carriage sections in 2 halves. The results are tremendous.
I saw a friend who is a product designer working with this machine. I was stunned by what he was able to do with it. Decided to buy one with no experience of 3d printing. It was a very steep learning curve and I made various mistakes – but the fastest way to learn is to do. Was making prints of mathematical models downloaded from free STL libraries within the week. One issue I had was not protecting the LCD screen. The FEP film was perforated during a print and leaked resin badly damaged the screen. After some online searching, I found this was a relatively common problem – you can buy a screen protector on Amazon. I wrote to Elegoo, they replied within a day and sent me a new screen. I changed the screen following the Youtube video guide. They are incredibly supportive of their customers. Can not recommend Elegoo enough.
A fabulous printer until out of the blue the gremlins decide to inhabit it.
Firstly, I bought one in August 2021, 4 weeks of fabulous prints, large and small.
Secondly after the free return expired things went Pete Tong.
I noticed if I turned the machine off it took several attempts to restart it, usually about 30 mins after unplugging from source etc. I contacted Elegoo directly and the email replies were extremely slow and the advice was nothing more than I had tried already. I later discovered that if the usb stick was inserted before power up, well it just refused to start. Took the usb stick out, bam, it started. I could live with that no problem but then during a print the Z axis motor decided to drop off into the mainboard. I quickly re-attached the motor and looked for visible damage. I’m no electronic genius with a masters in circuitry but I figured the weight of the motor hitting the board was the end of printing as we know it. No, amazingly the machine powered up and the Z axis motor worked as normal. That’s when the prints deteriorated rapidly. Sadly what was once an apartment filled with mainly useless resin oddities and more mini figures than you could ever paint unless you lived until you were 500, it became no more. I gave up, thankfully Amazon have a great customer service and they are refunding the purchase. I’m actually buying another Saturn, it really is a wonderful printer, fantastic quality prints and easy to setup. My advice, check every nut, bolt and screw are tight, use a good quality usb stick, the one supplied burns out in a matter of weeks, just copy the files over. Find a resin that works well with the printers recommended settings, easily found online and don’t mess with them once your prints are clean and good quality. If you want speedy prints be prepared for lots of fails. A slow successful print is way better than a fast failure. Don’t use kitchen roll to clean the vat, micro cloths are much kinder to the fep sheet. Keep a good supply of Isopropanol Alcohol or IPA for short for cleaning resin out of the vat as well as cleaning your prints. Good luck and enjoy, hope this helps in your decision making.
I have owned a few brands of resin printer of smaller scale, but ive found Elegoo to be the best. Their instructions are very clear and will have you up and printing quickly.
I originally had the elegoo mars, I upgraded to the saturn as i was getting frustrated with the small print bed. With the saturn not only did i get the large print bed, but i have also found quickier print times.
I primary use my printer for making models for wargames, ive printed models at 6mm, 10mm, 28 and 32mm and never been disappointed with the results. I have set my prints up for 40 micron layers and unless you have flat areas its VERY hard to even see the layer lines
We bought this 3D printer to replace a FDM printer for prototyping engineering parts and the print quality is fantastic when compared. A little bit more thought is needed with handling the gel but we’ve found the water soluble versions print well and are a bit easier to clean in the bowl of warm water.
This is a great printer. It is easy to use and the print quality is fantastic
For the price you can’t go wrong. Although it is still a difficult hobby to get into and get the results that you wa
I have many of Elegoo products, which are always great value for money, but the best thing has to be their service, I think this is alway the Measure of a business, all well and good when the products are running well, but when things go wrong Elegoo have always help me out and got me back running again.
I already had a MARS 2 Pro, and this SATURN provides a larger build platform, which is very useful. It works well straight out of the box, and has performed reliably and perfectly satisfactory. I use PTFE dry lubricant on the FEP. The build plate grips the prints firmly, and the metal spatula is usually needed to knock the prints off the plate. Very pleased with this purchase.

Have been 3D printing for business since 2016 and have used several printers over that period, the elgoo saturn is a good price for a larger build volume and combined with something like Lychee slicer you can be printing quickly and cheaply with very little setup. the prints are sharp and highly detailed. Possibly only weakness is using FEP sheets as the base of the tank which is a double edged sword on the one hand it means after several prints cause clouding or damage, the sheet can be replaced cheaply (around 20-30 for 5 sheets) vs something like the solid plastic tanks Formlabs use that are 50 per tank. However on the negative the FEP got a pinhole damage mid print causing resin to leak onto the LCD panel and then get hardened onto the glass of the panel as the print continued. To their credit elgoo offered to replace the damaged components and were extremely helpful with this issue. but i would recommend keeping this in mind, 9/10 near perfect, needs a better tank base solution for that final point.
Edit: The replacement parts arrived in only 10 days! Easy to fit and test, the printer is working perfectly once again. I cannot fault Elegoo’s customer service.
I have 3 of these printers now, one from the pre-order and two from Amazon.
They’re not running non-stop but they have been well used, and they’ve been faultless. The quality of the prints they can produce is outstanding, and they are easy to use once properly dialled in. The majority of users on forums that report issues are those who have not done their homework or simply haven’t set the slicing parameters correctly for their machine. I use flex plates on all 3 of my Saturn’s and in my opinion they offer great benefits over printing directly to the build plate.
One of the Saturn’s – bought from amazon in January 2021 so now nearly 8 months old – has developed a fault with the LED array where several of the LEDs within one of the 3 blocks have failed. I contacted Elegoo’s EU Support by email and they sent me instructions on how to test the array and check the cabling. A quick email back to them and they are sending me the parts required to fix the printer!
If you check the forums on facebook or elsewhere on the web you’ll see this story repeated. It’s not that the machines have a high failure rate, but when they do fail Elegoo have been simply superb at: 1) answering customers messages (my response came next working day!), and 2) getting the problem sorted out! I have to say it’s a breath of fresh air when dealing with a company based on the other side of the planet…! It is in fact how it should be, and their competitors should take note – this is how you take care of customers and generate brand loyalty and repeat business.
Well done Elegoo. I am a customer for life.
If you are in the market for a resin printer at an affordable price with superb after-sales support you really can’t go wrong with an Elegoo Saturn – or an Elegoo anything!
Great starter printer, simple to use, robust (I love the full metal shell construction), and with an incredibly helpful community through Facebook groups to help troubleshoot issues. Also Elegoo has very good customer service! Highly recommend.
Elegoo as always is setting the bar for quality and price when it comes to their brand of LCD printers, especially the Saturn with its 4K Mono Screen.
Printing at nearly 3 times the speed of their Mars Pro, and offering enough space to print like near any medium-sized FDM printer, the Saturn is both the baby and the big boy of my resin printers. Like all printers it takes some getting used to when it comes to organising your supports and models to avoid suction forces, failed prints etc. but the Saturn is pretty much plugged and play as long as you use Lychee automatic medium thickness & normal density supports, to begin with, but I recommend learning some basics about orientations and resin printing.
On top of this, Elegoo are unmatched for customer services, sending a free FEP sheet and now (8 months in) I had a torn FEP and it spilt and cured on my LCD screen during a print and there sending a new 4k LCD screen. Elegoo is like a good parent, supporting their idiotic children and cleaning up after their mistakes for the first year, so i’d recommend taking advantage of the help that is there!
Brilliant printer, very easy to set up, feels well put together and i know Elegoo customer support is excellent. I also own a Creality LD-002R which is another good printer but the increased size this brings makes things much easier for me.
I also think the customer service from elegoo is fantastic.
Great printer, very easy to use, could do with better network capability but for most uses its grea
I purchase the saturn because original I purchased 2 mono x’s but one broke in less than 4 months and anycubic only offer 3 months warranty so rather than buy a replacement screen I just purchased an elegoo saturn instead..
What can I say it’s a far superior machine better build quality, better print quality, better, firmware and customer service that’s second to none.
Because I’ve just started a YouTube channel it’s important I have printers that work and if they do develop a problem I need to be able to get it fixed as fast as possible and I feel confident elegoo will there to help when the time comes..
I’ve been recommending the saturn to all my followers and subscribers and if you’re looking for fantastic printer at a fantastic price then this the one!
Included some pictures of print quality all my models are between 19 and 23 inches tall!!
I use my printer for commercial purposes as a design engineering agency so important things for me are accuracy and speed.
Set up and levelling took 2 minutes and so far after about 50hrs of printing haven’t had to re level it.
Used a variety of resins including the plant based material. You do need to know what you are doing as each resin is different, for example the plant based is good but much weaker than the ABS type and doesn’t stay in perfect form after heat or moisture.
I have used many types of printers including the form labs and I will go as far as to say this printer is better, because:
– it print each layer in one go through the led screen not a laser which means you can print massive amounts in the same amount of time. Whereas the form labs goes up massively whether horizontal or vertical area.
– the 4K screen means I honestly can’t see the pixel resolution and the build is so quick at 2.5s a layer I just use 50micron layers all the time which is awesome quality.
– Chitubox software is easy enough to use, just learn how to get the best from it as it takes some skill.
– resin price is super cheap, 40 a litre for this printer 150 for the formlabs.
– customer service is excellent, enquired about a new build tray, same day one was shipped!
Little tip is buy the cover to keep the UV off of it if near a window and the little odour fans they make work a treat to keep the smell down.
Excellent printer, will very likely get another one in the future!
I’ve had the Saturn since January and started as a complete beginner. It’s been really easy and fun to learn and even from day one the print quality has been great and just gets better with experience.
Bought this after having the Mars for a year and having excellent results with it. I know its going to be the same with the Saturn. Out of the box I was printing within 10 minutes, and the finished product is the quality I expect, excellent.

I need to figure out how to stop the print sticking to the fep but when it does a successful print it’s beautiful. Im very impressed with the quality of the prints. I do love it. Its smelly and can be messy compared to my fdm printer, but its well worth it for the results. Im so so impressed with resin printing. The elegoo team are very helpful and always there to help. I would recommend elegoo not only for there products but for there customer service. I hope I solve the problem with the prints sticking to the fep

While it does print great quality, there was a curve to getting it to work properly. Had issues until I updated the firmware. Failed on prints that worked perfectly on my Photon Mono. Had to learn to add more supports. The Photon Mono was bullet-proof and almost never failed me, but this does have more failures. That being said, once you get it dialled in and know it’s quirks, it’s pretty awesome value for you what get for the price. What would have cost 4x as much even a year and half ago. The tech is moving forward quickly. I do recommend this printer.
I upgraded to this from a Mars 2 Pro and I’m glad I did. The unit sits in the same place, but the plate and vat are far bigger. The Mars build plate looks tiny next to it and I have to wonder how I coped with such a small volume before.
Product is very well packaged. mine arrived with a tear/dent in the edge of the box (from courier, not supplier I suspect). Product inside is more than amply protected. There’s labels telling to to remove the protective film from the print bed and LCD panel – as it says, don’t remove the black tape from the LCD (It’s clearly marked with instructions). The print head also has a clear plastic film over the white surface – this clear film also needs to be removed, but isn’t referenced in the instructions or on the printer (that I could see). Would recommend to anyone with experience in 3D printing wanting to try resin printing or get a bigger resin printer.
The rest of the review is aimed at anyone that doesn’t already have a 3D printer.
This is a resin printer, not FDM (Plastic spools of Filament). It uses quite toxic liquid resins which you will need to buy. (Readily available on Amazon).
You will also need (for a start, and off the top of my head so this list will be incomplete) ….
Gloves, facemasks, resin/paint filters (Some supplied – but you will need more of each of these)
Eye goggles (You don’t want uncured resin in eyes, or on your skin for that matter)
UV curing station (possibly you could use the sunshine – but at some point you’ll want this, or make one)
Ventilated workspace – the resin fumes are unpleasant at best.
Sealed storage containers & Alcohol for washing parts – and a lot of it.
The above is just my thoughts – I would recommend plenty of googling and you tube visits to anyone that doesn’t understand resin printing to verify and complete the list above and to make sure it’s right for you. It’s not Print and Use, It’s nasty resin that needs to be cleaned/Washed after printing and then UV cured to make safe. I’m not saying don’t get one as your first 3D printer, I’m just saying know what your getting into first.
I chose this printer for its overall good reviews and have not been disappointed. From the quality of the packaging to the ease of setting up, 30 minutes after unpacking I was printing the castle test piece.
For the price, build size and print quality this printer cannot be beaten.
The build quality of the printer is outstanding.
The print quality rivals printers costing more than 6 times more.
The screen on the printer is clear, and the printer software allows for more control than other printers.
I cannot recommend this printer highly enough and would buy another one.
If you own a Mars printer you, you won’t go wrong with owning a Saturn too especially if you want to print bigger, awesome print quality, the only thing I’d like is the option of a plastic vat like on the other Mars printers over a heavy metal cast one.
If this comes in stock pick one up 9/10 same as review on Mars 2 looses a point as it can be messy but don’t let that out you off
Brilliant printer, very easy to set up, feels well put together and i know Elegoo customer support is excellent. I also own a Creality LD-002R which is another good printer but the increased size this brings makes things much easier for me. I got it in the prime day sales for 340 and i dont think there is another printer at that price point which can match the Saturn.

Having had experience with FDM printers and the utter monotony that comes along with producing good prints, the elegoo saturn was incredibly refreshing, it can produce objects that rival injection molding with only minutes of initial setup, no need to play about with bed leveling or settings in the slicer, just pour in some resin and print. not only is the printer utterly superb but their customer service also maintains this quality, I cannot recommend this printer highly enough

I upgraded from a Mars and must say it’s worth the upgrade. The Saturn is much faster and doesn’t compromise on quality.
When I initially received the printer, there was a fault with the Z axis rod not being secured. This led to failed prints and also issues with the build plate going below ‘home’. This in turn punctured the fep which led to a pretty bad resin leak which ruined the screen.
I contacted Elegoo, and they immediately sought to rectify the situation by sending out a replacement screen. Very quick and efficient customer service.
Absolutely brilliant printer. The bed size is amazing and I’ve managed to print large resin statues without any problems. Very quick at printing perfectly.
Cracking printer, ive done about 100 parts so far without a hitch, as long as you understand the limitations of these devices..so far so good.
I have upgraded from a creality LD-002R to the Elegoo Saturn and it was the best decision I ever made. I find the quality and detail is amazing and the larger build plate let’s me make models at a size I never thought possibly on a resin printer.
I love this printer so much hardly anything else is getting done! The prints are great and I found it quite easy to use. I can’t leave the thing alone. It is quite messy (the resin) so make sure you have lots of wipes and don’t forget to buy the resin too, it doesn’t come with the printer.

I have quite few printer, including some from other brands, but this one provides the sharpest details right out of the box, very high and consistent quality. Can’t recommend it more.
Had this printer a week now done some printing with it witch have come out great and faster than the anycubic photon need settings for resin went on elegoo website all under the support this printer is a no brainer and support team great service and fast reply as compared to the anycubic photo
I purchased this device to work along side my Mars Pro 1, and have been blown away at times – the increased bed size at this price point is a bit of a game changer and presents whole new avenues in terms of print output, which quality wise in itself is impressive to behold. Easy to set up, with a relatively low learning curve – a worthwhile purchase all round. Elegoo customer service is also second to none!
So my elegoo Saturn came a few days ago and all I can say is wow
This thing is absolutely huge and the quality is amazing
I had a smaller resin printer b4 I got this Saturn
The Saturn prints almost three times faster than my previous printer (ldoo2r).
The print quality is better than I expected and I would say it is definitely worth the money.
I would buy a second one at some point and get rid of one of my older smaller printers.
If you are looking for a printer that is easy to use this is problay the one for you.
Had an Ender3 for many moons now. Always wanted to print minis but FDM just can’t get the detail. Saw this in Sept 2020 and have been trying to get it ever since. So it turned up 15 days early. Was set up in about 15 min. Printing the rook test print on Elegoo black washable resin and yes it was worth the wait. I fiddled with a few settings and set off a bed full. 6 mini some D&D coin tests and 6 rows of 6 bottles for tokens. I had 5 of the coins fail for no reason but I’m not bothered as the rest are amazing quality. The best thing is after 4 hours I had a stack more to paint.
Overall I’m impressed with the printer and also the washable resin. Found some parts a little brittle but that could be down to learning the cure proccess.
This thing doesn’t really need a review, everyone knows elegoo is champion for price and quality of printers. I had an FDM printer before, it took an hour to put together, plugging in ribbon cables all over and getting the plate perfectly level every time was a pain and it failed 40% of prints. This printer was so easy I thought I was missing something and didn’t want to start the first print until I found out what I’d not done, turns out it’s pretty much plug and play, the levelling takes about 30 seconds and it prints super high quality without any fuss.
For me the Saturn is the best of the mid range printers available at the moment. I have purchased 2 and the most recent has fixed all the issues I had with my early bird purchase. Larger rails and added stability on the z axis means solid, stable prints, even when using the whole z axis height. Cheaper and better built than my E10 and half the price of both the Mono X and the ibez (though the latter is a phenomenal machine as well) Easy to set up and get printing and the support from elegoo, despite the unavoidable time difference, is always stellar.

Outstanding printer. The print detail is insanely good. I wanted one since release and finally got my hands on one. No regrets at all. Super reliable too.
I’m so glad I waited till this came into stock, I’m a complete resin printer novice. And I’ve already got amazing results. 2 fails but it’s going to happen.
Research loads of vids on YT and join the Facebook groups. 🙂
Elegoo support is also brilliant. I’ve used a Saturn before and I was impressed with the print quality and the great value of the machine. I had an issue with mine, and elegoo support helped me out with it quickly and easily.
I’d buy from them again without hesitation.
For its price the saturn is amazing value.I use it mainly for wargames miniatures and printed a fellblade and warlord titan on it reasonably easily.Quality is difficult to distinguish from original.Customer service is excellent from Elegoo. All in all a brilliant printe
Absolutely love this printer, it’s in constant use, the print quality is superb, the fine details it can print still has me amazed.
Also, the elegoo customer service is probably one of the best around
Amazing printer. I had previously purchased a Mars 2 but wanted a printer with a larger build plate. As with the mars2 the quality of prints are simply incredible the thing is I had not taken itno consideration the amount of resin I am getting through lol
Amazing printer and at such a great price as well
Amazing printer and at such a great price as well
Had to send it bk as faulty screen now they out of stock
A great machine and incredible value for money, print quality is excellent…mastering print settings takes a bit of time so be patient and experiment a little. I would thoroughly reccommend. The only thing missing really is the cleaning/curing station for the Saturn (I understand it will be available in June) as things can get a bit messy and theres lots of cleaning to do.
Amazing printer. I already had a Mars but wanted a printer with a larger build plate. The speed and quality of prints are simply superb. My only issue is that instead of buying one bottle of resin a month I now buy multiple!
I’ve been using the elegoo saturn for all my large and small resin printing. Love it! Works really well, consistently.

The Saturn is a good printer when it is working. The big build volume is very useful, love it.
Problems:
– Z rod stuck, build plate cannot move (add lithium grease, done)
– restart after the first layer printed (manufacturer’s usb is rubbish ,must buy a proper one)
– there is a strong line in the middle of the print somewhere in the middle of the build plate (no visible sign if you check the LCD it looks fine, the problem still not solved)
-eats resin :))
This printer is a beast. I can print multiple small models or one large model all in the time it would take multiple Mars or Mars Pro printers to do the same job. The build quality is excellent and the support from Elegoo is fantastic. I’ve used other manufacturers in the past and never been happy with the response from their CS, but any issues and Elegoo is on hand to help. The print quality of the Saturn is absolutely amazing and I’m constantly blown away by what such an affordable machine can achieve. Now I’m just waiting for the next size up to be released!
An amazing printer with a satisfyingly large build area.
This printer has impressive resolution with its 4K monochrome display. Printed parts are pin sharp and dimensionally accurate. Print times are quick, with water soluble print liquid the curing is working well at between 2.5 to 3 seconds/layer.
I have past experience with industrial printers, previously purchasing and running large powder and large photopolymer 3D printers at an engineering design company. These physically giant machines were, back in their day, each over 120k new. They were the size of a large desk and we had to check the floor was strong enough before installation. And they weren’t cheap to run. The photopolymer Objet machine was 300/kg for build material. Need a new set of print heads? That’s an 8k outlay. Servicing? 1500 a year. Parts back then had to be painstakingly cleaned to remove the jelly support material using caustic and within an industrial pressure washer cabinet.
Fast forward ~10 years and we have a low cost, simple home device that can sit on a shelf, printing quietly all day long. Compared to the bulky machines I once worked with this Saturn delivers a higher resolution and at a fraction the cost to purchase and run. There is no laborious cleaning, just wash the parts in water or IPA and optionally cure further in sunlight or a UV cabinet.
I cannot recommend this machine highly enough, the print quality is amazing for any 3D printer. The fact it is priced so low is a bonus.
The two fans work well to keep heat down. When running long prints I checked to see if there is any warmth from the machine. On all the prints so far it runs very cold which is excellent to prolong the LCD life.
4K is an essential step up on larger printers like the Saturn because as print area increases the resolution also needs to go up for parts to remain detailed. Just like comparing HD video on a laptop vs HD video on a 55″ telly. The image looks far better on the laptop because the smaller screen has physically smaller pixels. It begins to look blocky on the big screen. Move up to 4K on a large telly and it looks great. The same applies to printing. The pixels (or ‘voxels’ when talking about 3D printed pixels) are physically larger when the print area grows on bigger machines like the Saturn so you also need to increase the resolution just to stay at the same print quality. This allows the much larger print area on the 4K Saturn to deliver the same physical pixel size as the smaller 2K Mars Pro.
The Saturn 4K LCD pixel size is 0.05mm in X and Y – which is under 2 thousandths of an inch. The sort of precision tolerance we’d specify at work on close fitting CNC machined parts. The chitubox software which comes with the Saturn gives various options to interpolate the XY image and further increase print quality (reading the Chitubox blog which goes into a lot of detail on settings it does this by a fancy dithering method to smooth edges).
The resolution in Z (build height) can be adjusted via the software since this is set by how far the build platform is raised each time. It can be set all the way down to 0.00125mm, assuming you are happy for print times to go through the roof. I’ve not found this necessary, it prints perfectly well with the standard print settings but it’s nice to know it’s there if required.
Like all newer UV cure machines, the Saturn has a monochrome LCD. This means the cure time for each layer is far faster than machines with a colour LCD. A colour LCD blocks more light so it takes around 8 seconds to cure a layer whereas a monochrome LCD can do the same in around 2 seconds. Since the LED UV lights are on for less time there is also less heat buildup and the LCD should last far longer too. Win win.
My machine did not come with the membership card mentioned in the listing. I spoke with Elegoo who confirmed the membership cards are being phased out. I guess the Amazon listing will soon be revised to reflect this. It also does not come with spare FEP film in the box though Elegoo have an offer for a few free FEP sheets on their Facebook page if you provide proof of purchase. For new users it would definitely be worthwhile ordering spare FEP sheets at the same time as the machine so you have these to hand should you manage to damage the original FEP while playing with the new machine.
When I first assembled the machine I had a problem with the build plate head, one of the threaded M6 holes which is used to pinch and lock the ball of the build plate was slightly oversize. Tightening the M6 bolt had a soft feel like the thread was about to strip. Elegoo technical support was excellent, a quick email to explain the problem and a replacement part is being promptly despatched.
As well as the standard chess piece which came out razor sharp we have printed little tank and soldier tokens with my son to make a board game. We have a 195W 1.2m sized laser cutter and we used this to make the wooden board having designed this together. The tokens were all 3D printed. It all came out perfectly. A few pictures are uploaded to show the print quality and results.
Definitely recommend the Saturn for anyone considering a high resolution 3D printer.
The product works great and the customer service is second to none. I am waiting on more coming in stock so I can buy a second one they are that good.
Very good value for money: quick and detailed prints!
It may take a few runs to get to grips with the nuances of supports and what settings you need for whatever specific resin you are using but I’d recommend the Elegoo Water Washable Resin. Makes cleanup much easier and with no loss of detail or strength.

everything about the printer is perfect, the only gripe is lack of stock and no replacement FEP and ive just pierced mine 🙁
Really great piece of equipment at a great price. Having bought a Mars pro originally I upgraded to the Saturn at the first opportunity.
I had a bit of a bumpy road with this printer. As someone else mentioned in their review there is an issue with the screen that mean you get a line print across anything in that region of the screen. I reached out to elegoo and they gave me a quick fix I could perform myslef – however it seems to require a great deal more tweaking than they implied and I still don’t have it quite right.
I had a few other issues and Elegoo were kind enough to sort them out – it took a long time with the current pandemic and shipping issues but they really did go above and beyond.
This printer doesn’t seem to have the same high quality that the Mars or Mars 2 have but overall I’m happy. The generous build volume is a godsend and it’s pretty reliable.
I’d say maybe 7/10 for the printer and 10/10 for Elegoo staff for helping me fix all the issues I faced.
a big brother companion to my Elegoo Mars. glad i found it at a ‘normal’ price.
Excellent item value for money, easy to use , outstanding print quality for the price point .
Easy, quick, quiet.
This is my first 3D printer, been toying for ages with the idea and now I’ve dived in, this is great.
It is a solidly built piece of kit, operationally it’s easy and quiet. As sparse as the instructions are they are enough to get you up and running.
I use the Elegoo Saturn 3d Resin printer, with Elegoo water washable resin and a Elegoo Mercury wash and cure station and the full system works great.
Ive attached the demo rook print that worked 1st time no bother, then my 2nd print from a Free SLT file site, prepared using the supplied software and printed perfectly.
Early days but at present it fantastic.
ZUPDATE.
THE PRINTER IS GREAT. Handles all manner of complex designs. The print quality is way beyond my expectations.
The customer service team are fantastic, helpful and friendly.
The lcd screen did break(not overly concerned as i work in the glazing industrie and know how temperamental tempered glass can be)
however a quick chat to customer services and a new one was dispatched imideatley.
Fantastic company, fantastic product. Not the cheapest but good value for money.
So, I know people like quiet… but I like even a little reassuring positive noise as feedback.
This is so quiet! With the top on, the motor noise is barely auditable and the FEP barely pops (must be decent nonstick).
The vat is a great design with a max mark and little legs underneath (to guide where it goes, plus doesn’t sit on fep when on desk.
Setup and rook print was less than 30mins for a complete resin noob.
Only downside is the lack of screen protection, but I ordered some cheap mars feps to protect.

I preordered this from another site for about 410 and it arrived in December 2020. It’s a very good printer for the money. I can’t make any comparisons because it is my first 3d printer, however prints can be produced at such high detail layers cannot be seen and often prints look better than a cast.
One issue I have been having is that larger prints won’t adhere properly on one corner and the layer peels, this is improving with further tuning, so the cause is most likely user error.
The resin can be very messy if you are not careful and so having a proper workspace is highly recommended, ideally with a cleaning station. Otherwise the hood does a good job of keeping odour inside the machine, however if you leave it in an unventilated room printing overnight, the room will smell like pelargonium plants.
I would not recommend this printer to the kind of person who wants to mess around making the odd print now and then. This printer is for someone with a clear desire to either print large quantity or large volume prints, for work or for serious hobbyists.
