Works for neck ache
Adjusted it to be lower from the start as to high for me. Its a weird pillow hard, not something to buy if you looking for a hotel style comfort, BUT I suffer from neck ache and have not had one problem since purchasing it (although only a week or 2 into it).

I’ve been using this pillow for 3 weeks now. I have terrible posture and suffer from neck and shoulder pain. I read about making a transition to sleeping without a pillow and thought I would give this a shot. I am a back and side sleeper.
On first use I thought it might be a little firm, but I quickly got used to it as I stuck with it. Having used it for 3 weeks I can definitely say that having gone from two duck down pillows to this, I have noticed a definite improvement in my neck pain. It’s firm, but you can flip it over for a softer side if needed. I haven’t bothered trying to take out any of the layers and have stayed using the firm side.
It fits nicely into a standard pillowcase.
So far, so good.

Great comfo
First pillow was damaged, but no problem with replacing. 2nd pillow no issues. Very comfortable and totally helped with neck and shoulder pain.
Comfy Pillow
It only looks like sponge in middle, but it is very comfy, 1 side is slightly firmer than the other, seems very slight, but 1 side suits me much better. Its about the 5th Pillow in 2 years – finally have a very comfy one!
Godsend!
I bought this for my husband as he was keeping me awake snoring – he hasn’t snored since! It’s very firm so he does use a slim, soft pillow on top but it works perfectly.
Opinions on Pillows are just so subjective!
I think with pillows you just have to try them out and see what works and what doesn’t. This one was just slightly too hard but works great to prop me up in bed for a last drink and read. What helped me was neck exercises which I do regularly. The pillow isn’t always the problem.

Firm and comfortable, unfortunately wasn’t quite high enough for me, could have done with another layer on top. Returned and 5 star for customer service.
Very good
By far the most I’d spent on pillows before, but had tried from John Lewis and White Company and they all start off nice then all the filling migrates to the edge and you’re left with an indent in the centre – which resulted in fitful sleep.
I’ve had these pillows for 5 months now and I’ve gone from waking multiple times a night, having to readjust the pillow to try and get comfortable to rarely waking and sleeping right through most nights – it been a great purchase so far and hopefully it continues and maintains the shape.
It is very firm, but that’s what I wanted as I’m a side sleeper, if you lay in your back (or one of the weird people who sleep on their front!) not certain it would suit as well.

Amazing! Managed to get them in a sale at half price making it great value for money. Took a few days to get use to but really only need the one pillow and you’re all set. Husband really likes his too. Fit standard size pillow cases. Firm but soft and they mold to your head, neck and shoulder.

Can;t guarantee it’ll work for everyone, but the thickness of the pillow is adjustable by removing some of the internal layers, so there’s an excellent chance you can find the right height for you by tinkering with it a bit.
Firm enough for support but soft enough to be comfy. Not too hot either. My favourite pillow so far.

One pillow or two
The pillow itself is exteemely comfortable, however, the quality of sleep will be very individual, as i found using just one of these pillows wasnt high enough for my personal liking.

I have neck problems so I thought I’d give this ago, wish I had done it sooner, no more neck and shoulder pain, it took a couple of nights to get used to the flat pillow, but now fantastic, wonderful, highly recommended.

Amazing. I have a memory foam pillow that is also very good, but this matches my mattress. And it’s as good as I hoped for.

I had a minor issue with my delivery and it was more than fixed.
Now I have the best pillow i could ever imagine. My advice to everyone is get an Emma pillow.

Super comfy
I bought these after buying an Emma mattress which I love. The pillows are so comfy. I was uncertain about buying them as they’re so firm but I’m glad I did. I sleep on my side mostly & use all 3 layers which is perfect for me.
Layers add flexibility
Comfortable pillow, I liked the idea of being able to swap the layers round to find the most comfortable combination. I am a side sleeper and feel comfortable using this pillow.
Good quality, comfy with layers that allow you to personalise it.
Pillow is comfy, nice size and shape. I like the slanted sides which allow you to alter your head position. It’s on the firm side but has some stretch so not rock solid by any means.
It has 3 layers which you can adapt to your preferred height and firmness. I took the middle layer out which reduced its height which suited me. Washable cover is a bonus too.

Warmth is an odd metric! I will say these pillows are super comfortable and hold their shape so well, I went from two goose down pillows which cost probably 3x these. I’m mostly a side sleeper, they’re probably too thick if you sleep on your stomach (unless you want to look like a human Pez dispenser)
I’ve been ill lately with a dental abscess and was still able to get pretty comfortable with these things, my only complaint is that they don’t have a magic amulet that would stop my occasional (drunk) propensity for drooling like a St. Bernard downwind from a barbecue. Aside from that, excellent!

Perfect pillow
I’ve been looking for the perfect (for me) pillow for several months, and have bought and tried several, but none of them were quite right. This Emma pillow has ended my search. It is perfect.
It arrived vaccuum packed, and once opened, I left it a few hours to plump up to its full size. There is a slight odour to it, which went after a couple of days. It has 3 layers, which can be removed to achieve the right firmness and height for you. One side is slightly firmer than the other. I am a side sleeper, need all 3 layers, and use the less firm side. I use a cooling pillow protector (bought elsewhere), which prevents my head from getting too hot.
I have always had memory foam type pillows, so I am used to how they feel. With this Emma pillow, for the first time in months I have had a full 8 hours uninterrupted sleep, with no back or neck pain either.
All in all, absolutely delighted with this pillow, and relieved my search is over.

Unlike any other pillow I have used before, perfect alignment and I haven’t had a headache since. Can’t stop telling people about how great it is and wished I had discovered years ago…..a big thank you to the designers of this wonderful pillow

Great Pillow Once You Get Used To It But Could Be Better.
Pros: I Waited a while before reviewing as at first I considered sending it back as I had a few bad night’s sleep on it. I read the reviews on here and someone said to flip it over for a different comfort level. Strangely this made a massive difference and I found my neck lay the right way and got the correct amount of support on my head from the pillow. I checked the box and couldn’t see any information telling me about the two sides which I found strange.
Cons: I do wish the pillow was slightly thicker as it is still slightly too thin. Also there is a nasty chemical smell that comes from it but luckily I don’t sleep face down :D.
Thoughts: I think they would benefit if they did two thicknesses on this product as this one is quite thin. It’s a 3.5 out of 5.

So pleased with mattress thought I’d try pillows. I like the pillows they are comfortable. One seems enough per person.
Bought for Osteoporosis suffere
My elderly mother is thrilled with this Emma mattress. She suffers from osteoporosis induced vertebrae fractures and was struggling turning over on her old pocket spring mattress. This can’t reduce the pain she’s in but does make it easier to turn over in bed and gives better support. Wish it was possible for the off-gassing to speed up however – particularly with the pillows which stay stinky for longer than you expect.

After seeing a good prime day deal i splashed out on this pillow and after my first night almost returned it. But didn’t.. i have been sleeping with 2 feather pillows for years, but in the last few months not been sleeping well. The transition to memory foam has taken a little getting used to and side sleeping is definitely better as more supportive. Back sleeping also feels good. i have removed the middle layer as it felt to firm and i have a thin feather pillow underneath to keep the height up. I aim to try the 3rd layer again and remove feather pillow. I have slept better, but can’t say if it’s the pillow. Also the smell is a little strong to start and has only just faded. Not a soft pillow in any way shape or form, so if you like soft look else where. If you sleep on you side, i recommend this

Excellent pillow
Its taken me about 2 years and a lot of money to finally find a pillow that doesn’t give me any neck or shoulder pain. The Emma pillow is excellent quality. It is very firm which I like. It has 3 separate pieces of foam so it’s trial and error how many and what order you have them in.
The best pillows - FACT
They take some getting used to but don’t make any snap decisions, persevere for at least a week and you’ll be rewarded with the best nights sleep.
Slightly different firmness to either side, I’ve found each of these equally comfortable.
These and the Emma Mattress are a brilliant combination.
Worth the risk!
As a fussy side sleeper I was dubious, but the return policy made me take a chance and by god am I happy I did! Never had such good sleep and as a pillow flipper, the added cooling layer is a massive bonus!
Firm or no
What you think of this pillow depends on how firm a pillow you like. For me it was far too firm. I then gave it to my son who absolutely loves it. It is also a very well made pillow and the materials used to construct it are quality. So to sum up if you want a quality firm pillow, buy this. If you don’t like your pillow firm then get something else.
The best pillow I have ever used
This is without doubt the best pillow I have ever had. Firm and supportive without feeling like it’s a solid block. I sleep so much better than I did before and don’t have an aching neck in the morning when I wake up. Well worth the money.

But there is no guidance on what each one does, or what the best order is. I figured out that there are around 17 different combinations that you could use, and there is no advice on which is the best. I emailed Emma to ask, and they didn’t respond.
If you like high pillows, then you are in luck. However, given the uncertainty of how to assemble / stack the layers, I would only buy this if you were confident that you would be using the pillow as it arrives and not be customising it.

We ordered two pillows to go with our new Emma Mattress (which is amazing) but one pillow is ticker then the other. It has been like this since day one and we have had it for two months now. They would be purfect if both the same.

I love these pillows. We have one each. I’ve taken the cover off mine as I needed it a bit thinner but not so much to remove a layer of foam. I sleep with it on the soft side and my other half uses the firm side of his. No more neck or shoulder pain since I got it. I know they are expensive for pillows but I’d buy again if they got damaged.

This pillow is really well made & good quality but unfortunately was too firm for me. I contacted the seller who suggested removing the middle layer. This increased the comfort a lot but was too low for side sleeping. So I’ve had to return it sadly, the customer service is top notch though. Replied really quickly & no problem with returning or refunding

Very comfortable and as it has 3 parts you can adjust it to your personal comfort level. Great price and fast delivery definitely recommend.
Fantastic pillow
I suffer with my neck (spasmodic torticollis), so need a firm pillow but soft to the touch at the same time. Always use to use a second pillow, but with the emma pillow, you don’t actually need that second pillow. I really had a good nights sleep and I did actually breathe better in bed.
I bought this after getting fed up with waking up most mornings with neck pain, my neck pain began a few months back. I’ve tried a number different pillows over the past few months different shapes and fillings. They all helped my neck pain for few days in the end I read lots of reviews and did research and decided to buy this the Emma pillow. It’s very different to a normal pillow in that it’s made up of 3 separate foam layers so can be adjusted to your individual needs. I’m a side sleeper and their online website recommend I used all 3 layers each layer feels different and offers different support for your head and neck. I must admit it feels weird at first and took a few nights sleep to get used to it. I’ve had the pillow for over a month now and can write an honest review. It’s helped my neck pain very much but took a good 4 weeks using the pillow so was gradual process so don’t expect your neck pain to disappear after a few nights use, so bare with it as you’ll be glad you did.
Update: I’ve had this pillow now for over 6 months so adding this paragraph to my review as an update. I noticed a small part of the stitching was becoming undone at the zip end of the pillow case. so I contacted the Emma website via email they were really good told them the small problem and they sent me out a brand new pillow and collected my old damaged one free of charge, this took only a few days. They replaced the whole pillow not just the pillow case. . . . . Excellent customer service 🙂
Good firm pillow
One side is very firm and have had to remove that layer.. the 3 layers inside are great as i can make it higher or lower as i please and have it firmer or softer.. If you like super soft pillows then this isn’t for you but if you like a very supportive firmer pillow this is great.
It has taken me a while to get used to the pillow as I have always used a feather pillow in the past. The first few nights I found it very hard and was not sure I would like it but persevered. I ended up taking one layer out only keeping the middle layer and the memory foam layer. I now find it excellent, it supports my neck and back well and I don’t wake up with a stiff neck. It does not move around on the bed at all and keeps it shape. My partner likes the 3 layers and found it comfortable from the outset.
It has taken me a while to get used to the pillow as I have always used a feather pillow in the past. The first few nights I found it very hard and was not sure I would like it but persevered. I ended up taking one layer out only keeping the middle layer and the memory foam layer. I now find it excellent, it supports my neck and back well and I don’t wake up with a stiff neck. Like the products but the delivery is terrible! I thought it would be better via amazon, but the experience was almost as poor as ordering from Emma direct. If I realised that Emma were the responsible for delivery, I wouldn’t have bothered!

Comfortable and seems ro relieve my former neck ache. Slight smell when received but a couple of pillow cases resolved the problem.

My old pillows were so uncomfortable I kept on waking up with stiff sore neck. Wanted to give this memory foam pillow a go to improve my sleep. So far I’ve used it for a week, and definitely see a change to better. The Emma pillow is not as soft as ‘traditional’ pillows, and looks a bit weird too because it isn’t like a soft pillow (difficult to explain), but it is truly comfy. It took a couple of nights to get used to it, but now I’m very happy. Not waking up anymore with neck pains.

Have tried so many pillows as have trouble sleeping and have hip and back pain at night. Unfortunately I’m still experiencing leg pain at night but am really pleased with the comfort of this pillow.
It took a week or two to get used to the pillow and I found that I needed to remove the middle section as otherwise it was too high but after that I’ve had no neck pain and good nights sleep. The quality of the pillow cover is excellent. I definitely recommend giving it a try but you do need to persevere with it and not give up too soon.

Expensive material, artificial smell for a couple of days. Very soft and comfortable. Will recommend
