Evolution Power Tools R210SMS+ Sliding Mitre Saw With Multi-Material Cutting, 45° Bevel, 50° Mitre, 230mm Slide, 1500 W, (110 V Industrial Plug)

Cuts All

Evolution is one of the market leaders in multi-purpose cutting technology. Utilising this multi-purpose cutting technology, all saws easily cut steel, aluminium, wood (even wood with nails) and plastic, using just one blade. All Evolution multi-purpose carbide-tipped blades are made in Japan and are of premium quality steel and performance.

Cuts Cooler

When cutting metals, Evolution blades leave an instantly workable finish and produce virtually no heat, burrs or sparks. This allows the material cut to be handled quickly instead of having to wait for the metal to cool down, as required with abrasives.

Cuts Tile

With this accessory, Evolution saws are the complete cutting package. Available in two styles to enable most natural stone, concrete, paving slabs and unglazed ceramics to be cut with ease. Segmented rim blades (available in 185 mm, 305 mm and 355 mm): Hot pressed turbo segmented rim for consistent cutting ability. Continuous rim blades (available in 210 mm and 255 mm): Provides the smoothest cut in unglazed ceramic tiles and ornamental stone.

Cuts Safer

Abrasive blades can create excessive dust, fumes, smoke, fire and can even explode. Evolution blades produce very few sparks, create little heat and are an overall safer alternative to abrasives.

    Sturdy bit of ki
Relatively cheap, cuts unistrut and cable trays (100 and 150mm) with ease. The adjustability and laser line is a nice touch too.

    A MUST HAVE tool
I use this all the while for accurate cutting, although recommended on YouTube to adjust the settings of various bits of the saw, I found that it wasn’t necessary, as all adjustments were fine, out of the box. I am really happy with this item’s build and ease of use. The price, I think, is very reasonable for this tool and recommend it without any qualms. Make a great Xmas pressie for a keen diy,e

Easy to use & feel safe & protected
Bought to saw up all the timber left from house renovations.
    Easy to assemble.
    Easy to operate.
The dust bag isn’t worth having as all the saw dust collects everywhere but the bag!
Very happy with it & seems perfect for a DIY user.

    Delivery issue
I ordered this for my stepdad and had it delivered to their address.
I was emailed and told it had arrived but hadn’t.
After complaining I was told it would be delivered within the following 2 days.
They stayed in waiting and it didn’t arrive.
After complaining again, it finally arrived 3 days after it was said to be delivered.
So we’re all a bit cheesed off, mainly with the lack of communication.
However, the item is good and my stepdad is pleased with i

Got this for a small project. Works fine, no issues. Plenty of adjustment available on table if needed. Check the saw is set up correctly before using with a square.

Brilliant bit of kit for the price, definitely would recommend for the DIY’er and small shop environment. It’s loud as most mitre saws are, my only gripe is the laser is not great on the one I got, easily gets faint when the sawdust is flying, tbh I don’t really need the laser but would have liked a stronger beam, but hey at this price it is a gripe not worth worrying about. it cuts well and is easy to set up.

    Love it.
Great mitre saw. Looks the biz, used it in a recent project, not too accurate, but that’s down to me not having set it up properly yet. Cuts wood, metal and pvc. I will only use it for wood though. Cuts very smooth and is quieter than my old compound mitre saw. Recommend highly.

    Well made
Reading reviews about other similar equipment, the negatives aren’t here with this. It was easy to put together, no setting up needed. Presion clicks and well made. Laser is accessible and doesnt clog up. Dust bag works and it looks good too. I bought a cheap folding work bench to stand it on (to save my knees) I wish I’d reached a bit deeper in my pocket and bought the proper evolution stand with extending arms as it would stop the larger planks from falling to the floor when cut.

Check the voltage! I ordered this model in error needing 240v mains NOT 110volt model!
I had to return this model and order the “mains” version. No problems with the return, thanks Amazon.
An incredible machine. Does all I wanted. It is robust and easily does the job. I am a little disappointed that the mains version does not include the cuttings collection bag which is included in the 110v version.

Great bit of kit for a D I Y er, the laser is spot on and accurate, if I’m doing a project I use the saw for everything I can, safety has been well thought of too, I haven’t come across any part u could hurt yourself unless taking guards off which I would not recommend, powerful and makes any wood work job easy, I would recommend this saw to anyone who does wood work professionally or just as hobby

    Sturdy Build
As I’ve been supplied all Summer with offcuts and other wood for burning in my Woodburner and I hadn’t had a chance to cut it up. I decided to buy the Evolution R210SMS+. There are a host of features I haven’t used and may never use, but it is ideal for cutting up equal lengths of wood for storage for burning over the winter. Wasn’t that difficult to assemble and found the Videos on YouTube helpful. I’m sure I’ll use the other features one day, but in the meantime it has made life much easier.

    Good tool to have
Used to install a kitchen including the pelmet – saw has compound mitre function but only in one direction – hence I found it easier to clamp the moulding and just use 45 degree cut which produced a nice clean cut both face to back of cut and to front (which was a pleasant surprise given the moulding size). Laser is accurate to final cut across the full cut width. Dust bag is not much use so would recommend fitting a vacuum hose to the bag outlet. Note that with all such saws you need to give sufficient bench depth to the slide bars to allow the saw to fully cut the width – this was the largest saw I could use without resorting to a stand.

Ideal for limited or hobby use, professionals need something sturdier.
My Hitachi C10FCA finally packed up after 20 years of excellent service, I was about to dismantle it and attempt a refurb but decided to look and see what was available online first.
Wow, so much choice and at such competitive prices (My Hitachi cost 200 back then).

I looked up reviews here and on other sites, mostly DIY and tool sellers, also some youtube reviews, as a result, I selected this model as a decent budget saw ideal for my now somewhat limited use.

One draw was I wouldn’t have to change blades to cut through metal.

First impressions when I opened the box were not good, compared to my old saw, this was light and tiny, to me, it looked like a toy.

If it hadn’t been for all the positive info I would have returned it as it was, but I decided to give it a fair trial.

Assembly was straightforward but the instructions were somewhat overcomplex and confusing and could prove difficult for some, but stick with it and all should click into place.

Once assembled it did look like an effective bit of kit, smaller than I was used to but the weight meant it was much easier to move around.

It easily dealt with a range of woods at different sizes, the sliding head meant it could handle wide planks with ease, and the laser guide ( which I thought I wouldn’t need) proved an added bonus.

With metal, I’ve tried 5mm mild steel bar and 15mm copper tubing, both sliced through with ease.

Cutting is clean and accurate, the cutting table is small so you will need to extend for anything over 1 metre long, the supplied clamps are not too good and need beefing up or replacing.

So far I’m very happy with its overall performance so far, apart from one niggling thing.

The sawdust bag provided is useless, unless you have an extractor set up you will need a vacuum cleaner on standby to clear up the mess as you work.

Will this last as long as the Hitachi? I doubt it, it’s not sturdy enough, but for my limited use if I get about 10 years I will be happy.

As for the Hitachi, too good to junk so I’ve put it on my list of winter jobs.

    GREAT VALUE
This is my first foray into mitre saws. Based purchase decision on numerous reviews. I particularly respect the fact that Evolution expose themselves to scrutiny from those with extensive experience of such kit (check out footage on YouTube). May not offer the absolute accuracy of more expensive alternatives but, as far as I can tell, this is an extremely impressive piece of equipment for the price. On that basis, I’d be more than happy to consider other items from this manufacturer and, indeed, have already purchased their stand and vacuum to go with the saw. Was not disappointed!

Fantastic saw. WAY quieter than previous one I had (Draper). Laser a God-send. Sturdy build, measuring gauge on fence a great help. Cuts 45-degree mitres very accurately and just spent a productive day cutting porcelain tiles (with diamond sawblade) very easily & successfully which encouraged me to finally submit a review. Very happy with this saw.

You get what you pay for....
Pretty much what you would expect from a budget saw,the laser is just pointless straight up so if you rely on the laser then I’d get a different saw, other than that it’s an ok saw..or should I say it’s better than the rest available for the price,
I’ve been cutting decking with it and the blade that comes with it is just about good enough for the job but after a couple days of use it’s looking like I’m going to have to replace it,the mechanics of the saw itself are good and the blade was aligned straight out of the box and all angles were correct when doing mitre cuts which tbh I was surprised about, both clamps that come with it are really not worth the effort and the depth gauge also is flimsy so again pointless,

I gave the saw a high mark because let’s face it you get what you pay for and I knew this when buying it and I had one job for it to do and that’s to cut, which it does well on the size of wood I’m cutting, all in all if your someone who just needs a saw to do basic cutting and to use every now and then then buy this one,if you use one every day for work well you already know your not going to buy this one but it’s worth having there as a backup as it’s quite capable

EDIT: the blade that comes with it is absolute trash so go get a saxton blade,I cut about 16 lengths of decking and the blade has gone smooth and cutting like a butter knife
