Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAfter doing a lot of research. I settled in this product for my drive gate project.

Fantastic bit of kit. All the features you would expect, with the boyhood quality you expect.

The main feature that sold this 1 for me, is the self braking mechanism for the cutting disc.
Cuts the noise down no end.
    please

This is a great piece of kit only let down by the very poor instructions for both putting it together and how to operate it, and the completely useless dust collection system.
I appreciate that companies that sell products all over the world need to produce a huge booklet to cover as many languages as possible, but more care / thought should be given to making the instructions clearer and easier to follow.
The sawdust collection system just doesn’t work (unless perhaps I haven’t followed the less than helpful instructions!), the sawdust goes everywhere except into the collection bag.

Purchased for decking and gazebo garden project. Ended up using it pretty much daily. Cut deckboards frame boards with ease and also used the saw to install mini guttering all cut square and neat. Also cut aluminium strip to make a skylight frame.
Can’t recommend it enough. Very impressed

An excellent machine, heavy duty enough to cut through 3mm steel with straight cuts, only one issue I had was the instruction manual wasn’t very helpful when putting it together but I used a YouTube video instead.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersLight enough to carry around. Used this for my composite decking. Cuts were accurate (did some practicing first) and clean with little to no burrs etc. dust collection bag wasn’t great for collecting composite sawdust but just removed it. Easy to do all kinds of cuts and the retaining devices did a good job holding the decking boards straight and true.
Now I have this I’ll try my hand at loads of other things like bin store and maybe a shed. Very pleased

Great saw so far, but had a few issues before I could use it.

I bought one of these on 28th April and the blade was not square vertically (which I adjusted) but it was faulty as it stopped running after about 3-8 seconds. I couldn’t tell if this was the motor or the trigger. After requesting a return I dismantled it and got it all back in the box (bit tricky). Hermes didn’t turn up twice to collect the return (may be due to being in a rural area) so Amazon refunded me and got DPD to collect who were spot on.

I bought a second one after being refunded on 7th May and this one’s laser was not parallel with the blade (which I adjusted) and the dustbag sewn edge started to come loose (I think due to the strength of the clip). The dustbag doesn’t collect much anyway so I use the box the saw came in to stop dust going everywhere, with a hoover below my bench to clean up afterwards. This one’s motor/trigger worked fine though and did not stop automatically. The trigger seemed to have a click that the 1st one didn’t so that could have been the issue rather than the motor. Hopefully this was a one off rather than a faulty batch and Evolution don’t recirculate the one I sent back.

Other than the initial faulty model, difficulty of return and some adjustments the saw has been really good at cutting plastic and wood (not tried metal yet). Love the slow startup and quick slowdown. As this is my first saw of this type it took me a moment to realise you had to hold a clip under the mitre arm to move it! Doing bevel and mitre cuts are super easy due to the handles. The clamps have been very helpful. Cutting quality and depth is great.

Someone I know that has had one of these for a while has warned me that dust can get caught under the base, where it swivels for mitre cuts, so I will be keeping an eye out for that as he said it can slow the swivel down or stop it.

I bought this as I had a lot of skirting boards to fit.
I have never used a product like this before.
I have found it excellent and have used it for lots of things including cutting metal bars.
My only issue is the laser guide is not in line with the blade and you cannot adjust. It is offset to the left by about 1cm. However given the price this is an excellent produc

Excellent saw needed very little adjustment out of the box. Saw cuts through wood and MDF like a hot knife though butter and really cleanly. Very impressed with my purchase.

Took a little time to work out putting together (especially the blade) as instructions were not particularly clear. Once together the saw has been put to work and proved very effective and reliable. Clean and accurate cuts have helped on a number of garden projects.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe saw works well, especially if cutting reused wood with nails or screws hidden in it, the saw just slows down a little and cuts through them. So all in all a good saw, but the dust collection is a joke. the silly little bag provided only serves to stop sawdust from going that way. I have not run it with a the vacuum connected, but I think it will be similar to the circular saw, and the dust collection facility looks like a pretend one. I dont think you can operate this cleanly.

I already use a Dewalt mitre saw which is excellent. I needed a powerful saw for green timber and non wood materials. The Evolution came recommended. I found it easy to follow the set up instructions, once put together it needed very little tweaking to set all the accuracy parameters. Nice soft start motor and easy to use functions.
As the blade is multi materials the speed is slower than the Dewalt but that few extra seconds to cut similar pieces isn’t an issue.
Had it for a few weeks now and am pleased with it.

I didn’t expect this to be a Makita or a Bosch but it’s actually very high quality. I know people complained about the laser accuracy before but to be honest if you know where it cuts in relation to the line it’s perfectly fine. .

I have been using it for cutting laminate laterally, and the cuts are very accurate vs a jig saw. I recommend this model since you’ll be able to use it for the majority of laminate cuts in a room

Very well made accurate saw, some great features including quick release clamps The problem I found is the multi purpose blade which is fitted as standard makes hard work of cutting medium to hard wood, and most people will use this unit for woodworking, so a second blade is required, perhaps an option when purchasing is the answer.

I am very impressed with this saw it has speeded up greatly the job of putting down the flooring and the skirting boards. Once assembled and I had a quick dry run it was ready to go. Assembly did not take long and we did not even have to mount it on a bench/work top. before using it. It fitted into our car with no bother for transporting and we just used it both indoors on the floor and for less mess outdoors in the yard. It has the ability to cut lots of materials and that is good as I can use it for other tasks on future jobs.

I’m a keen and busy diy’er and my old saw was much past it’s prime so after loads of reviews went for this.

Out of the box it’s not that accurate, both 90 & 45 degree cuts off bu a couple of degrees. However after 30 mins with an angle guide and help from YouTube it’s cutting very accurately and it’s easy to adjust

As long as you check angles and try a couple of test cuts first it’s pretty perfect

Also the horizontal handle layout means it’s good in RH or LH use, a benefit over horizontal handles which are sometimes more awkward if you are changing from one hand to the next to accommodate cuts

For the price point (and probably above) I would definitely recommend

Absolutely brilliant piece of kit and I also bought the stand to accompany it. Both items do more than I expected and the saw cut everything I put in front of it. Bought the diamond blade just in case I need it in the future. As a package it was great value for money, cutting was accurate once I aligned the laser light, easy to assemble and use following the you tube video. Love it and wouldn’t go back to a more expensive one as this does the same.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBulletproof very well made , i had gone to the usual retailers and looked at other machines but they all had weak bits that could potentially break easy .
I have a friend who owns a builders yard with a industrial saw and he uses this for the other general cuts , he has had it for two years and its still going strong, when i looked at similar priced saws they didn’t have the same spec or build quality, my only concern was that it has been labelled as a overall machine with one blade that does everything, i was concerned on the finer cuts .
I bought a finer wood blade 80 teeth and it sorted out my laminate without a single burr on any piece i cut , it just feels meaty and makes me want to do more projects , ive borrowed tools of a friend before and paid him with beer but wish id bought my own years ago, ill never struggle with a hand saw again.
Ive also bought the stand which is an excellent addition giving you a stop to do multiple cuts the same length and support longer items like decking , its safe its great and i dare you not to smile once you have used i

I needed to build some decking for my garden. Whilst I have saws, circular, jigsaw and recip, I looked at some YouTuber’s videos and they were using similar saws – mostly much more expensive ones. After reviewing several possible options, the choice was made on:

    1) ease of use
    2) capabilities for this and other upcoming diy projects – multipurpose blade was a plus
    3) value for money compared to more professional and cheaper setups
    4 ) looks

To say it made my decking experience much easier was an understatement. Especially as I had to several angled cuts, mostly 45 but several others.

I’m not a professional, but the end result I am more than happy with the result. We now have a nice useable area for entertaining on. I’ve even fitted some very cool decking lights to finish it off- with a built in WiFi app so you can control the lights by music, use it for mood lighting for outside cinema etc.

Only gave 4**** as I’ve not had it long enough to see if the quality lasts.

    Awesome piece of ki

Once you figure out the pictures its pretty easy to put together, the bolt which holds the blade down is quite stiff so use something to grip it and wd40 it to is slides back and forth easily.
Its quite wide because of the handles on either side, but they are only held on with two screws so its a matter of if you trust them to hold it.

So far pretty basic of what all these mitre saws do.

Laser guide is very useful but be aware that the plastic protective cap can become covered in wood resin causing the line to blur. Customer services explained how to remove the cap and clean in warm soapy water. I find the positioning of the two supplied clamps a little awkward to use as they often foul the maching when cutting angles – this isn’t really a problem as I just firmly hold the wood in place by hand.

This a great machine costing about a sixth of professional machines.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great value, extremely useful.

i recived the saw few days before and today i open the box i the 1st time
the saw seems OK and working (i cut only one pice of wood for testing)
but the laser is not working!
i activate the laser from the on/off button located at the handle – no laser, no light caming from the laser pointer.
when i open the box and start to assembly the saw, the circular plastic window/gard was found out from the laser pointer, i install it back to his place but its still not working
    what i do wrong?

4.0 out of 5 stars The laser is not working

Swift delivery, excellent packaging Instruction manual very comprehensive. The Saw itself is excellent and the multi-purpose blade gave a surprisingly fine cut on wood. The speed at which the blade starts up and how fast it stops is really impressive. Thus far the laser guide has been spot on. Overall I am very happy.

Right, to be clear, this is the only mitre saw I have ever used. However, I am amazed at how well it cuts and what I can do with it. I have also purchased a diamond disc for cutting quarry tiles. It makes light work of cutting the quarries, at least so far! Much better than being sprayed with water from a tile cutting machine. However I have yet to see how long the diamond disc lasts. I shall report back in a while.

This product is well made and value for money however, the laser function did not work.

The saw needs some assembly but the parts fit together easy enough. I made a table with 4xbraked castors to mount the fully assembled saw on, which works well. This saw is superior to my older one, having soft start and braked motor. Its very smooth in operation and cuts larger material. Very pleased with my purchase.

This is an excellent miter saw. Easy to use and very accurate. Also powerful. The laser guide works well.
Works well with the miter saw stand. Made the job very much easier all round.

    A great miter saw.

Brilliant value for money, a great piece of kit although the dust collection bag is next to useless, or I’m missing something! This is my first Evolution product, and my first foray into Sliding Compound Saws – I spent ages looking at alternative brands but with my home DIY budget I figured this we a well specc’d item that should more than cover my needs – so far – after only a little light use, I’m v pleased with my purchase!
