Feels solid and hopefully durable
Cassette feels solid, the wall bolts are strong, the recoil is rapid, hose and gun are great. The rotation on the bracket is sufficient.but I struggle to understand why the designer didn’t make the bracket protrude about 10mm more because then the cassette would fold absolutely flat against the wall; it doesn’t deter from its functionality, it’s just annoying! I’m still delighted with it though
Fabulous
This is a fabulous addition to a big garden. Saves so much time, attach to water and go water plants, after it winds it self and lookes tidy again. Only downside it has to be fixed to a wall, but if you have the right drill and bit, fab!!!

Wow what a great hose this is. It is very heavy so a helping hand while wall mounting wouldn’t go amiss. Hose is thick so hopefully won’t kink. The retractable mechanism is smooth and works well but it’s better to pull out what you need rather than pull it on the move. Worth every penny!
Good purchase
All works well, I found it easier to rewind if I turned off the tap and opened the valve to relieve the pressure.
You will need a handyman to fit it as you have to drill holes in the wall.

What can I say, but 10/10. Purchased an item a year ago and have been 100% happy. It developed a fault, contacted their support and whow, a complete replacement. Had this for the last few months of summer and away for the winter in the garage. Easy to take off the wall fixing. Straightforward to put on the house wall and allows me to get at the front, side and rear of the house for the plants and car washing.
Reel works fine and retracts well, no kinking, no hose line lying around on the floor.
Usual choice of sprinkler settings from the gun at the end with enough alternatives to suit my needs.
Yes it is expensive compared to some alternatives but the quality stands out. Obviously not able to comment on longevity yet but the signs are good.
Purchased the hose reel around 9 months ago and was initially fine and happy with it. 9 months later and the spray gun had a leak stopping the presure from ever building up. After reaching out to support they resolved the issue quickly and sent a replacement which has resolved the issue. Product is of good quality.
Good reel
Reason for 4 stars – delivery issue. The first one I ordered was never delivered, it was sent by Royal Mail and according to their tracking it never got into their system. I was offered a refund by Amazon which I accepted. There was then further confusion with the supplier offering a refund or a replacement. I decided to place a new order with Amazon and this was delivered the following day by Amazon. The connecting hose from the reel is kinked permanently at present, I’m hoping that this will disappear in use though. The fixings supplied are robust and hold the reel on the wall extremely well. I’m pleased with the reel despite the delivery issues.
Poor quality
This is a pricey enough hose but the quality doesn’t match the price. First time using the hose head had water squirting out of the side of it, soaking me the user. I contacted the company hoping they would replace the hose head but instead I received a 9.50 refund, no response just a refund, which was no real use to me as I had to then buy another hose head which cost 20. I replaced the hose head and was using the hose when the outer Pvc casing of the hose blew. I was using my hot water tap outside at the time which I have used with my Hozelock for years with no issues. The reason this happened with the giraffe hose is the pvc outer hose covering is extremely thin. Needless to say I regret buying this hose, the main reason I chose it was because I wanted a black hose. Wish I hadn’t bothered.

A great help for watering
I purchased this item in replacement for another one which I returned. Absolutely brilliant with a very long hose and so easy to retract back into its base. I would recommend this, no more carrying heavy watering cans dependent on any hosepipe ban in your area of course!

It can be so difficult to rewind long hose pipes manually without getting kinks – and it can be hard work. This 30m reel assembly is just so easy and quick.

I bought this hose reel for my daughter as I thought it would be easier to use than a manual one. Also it is not as bulky as some other makes. She has only had it for a few weeks but so far it is working fine, very easy to pull out and retract when wanting to rewind. I fitted it on the wall but used a wooden batten to fix it against so that it has enough clearance against the wall to turn through 180 degrees.

Great value for money, extremely robust. I do like the reel process which when retracting the hose it rewinds tangle free and is such an ease to use.
An excellent quality asset for the garde
This is one of the best tools I have acquired. A high quality long hose with a clever mechanism for easy retraction, and an excellent spray head with several different settings. The unit is quite heavy and the bolts for fixing it to a vertical surface are a bit awkward to drive in, so I have supported the unit on bricks as well to take some of the weight. But it still rotates enough to enable the hose to be taken out at an angle left or right. It has revolutionised our ability to water distant plants, and especially tubs. Strongly recommended.

Good product. Unwinds easily and winds back up in an orderly fashion – the only hose that I have ever had that does wind itself in with no drama. Not the cheapest, but I guess you get what you pay for and fits with all hozelock and similar attachments

I read loads of opinions on a variety of retractable hose reel and decided that this one was a reputable brand, so would go for it. Not sure about the assembling comment, I had a man who did all the necessary to affix it to the wall, so no issues there. I would point out that this hose ( and perhaps all retractable hoses?) is not so easy to pull out, and requires a bit of strength. I thought I could just wander easily to the front garden from the back ..alas, no. However, I have now worked out that if I pull it out to the required length, ( hint, mark hose with coloured tape! ) right beside the box rather than with the spray end where I want to water, then I can work it very well. Same for retracting, go to beside the box and feed it in gently. It is still a lot easier than my previous hose, on a wheel, and I am reasonably happy with it, though I do t think the hose itself is not of a brilliant quality, I noticed one ” kink” already, so am keeping fingers crossed. It was an expensive item, so really hope it lasts.

The only concern I had when I purchased this product was that the hose bore might be a little narrow and restrict pressure, but that’s not the case, the pressure was equal to my standard hose which I was very pleased about.
It’s advertised as 180 rotation but if you screw to a flat wall that’s not the case because the reel container will not fold flat against the wall and sticks out about 3 inches.
This is extremely annoying and as a consequence I’m having to put a 20 mm wood spacer to move the bracket out from the wall far enough so that the hose body folds flatter. That also requires me buying 20 mm longer bolts so additional expense of 7 I wasn’t expecting.
Other than that this is an excellent product.

Recently done my garden up (partly). With a new lawn laid I knew I needed a easy to access yet time saving mechanism as I’ve been watering my grass twice per day.
I’m not the best with DIY, but attaching this with help from a drill and level it went on straight within minutes.
Hose extends and retracts very smoothly. I’m really pleased with my purchase.
Think of it like a measuring tape
The manufacturer gives a disclaimer of offering 180 degrees rotation if mounted on a post: why not just extend the mounting bracket to accommodate the width of the reel o a wall? Or at least offer an optional extension.
Otherwise, a good quality product which mounts easily and offers a convenient hose without the need to manually reel back in. This length of hose should give good reach for most domestic properties and the hose’s structure appears unlikely to spring leaks on being compressed by repeated rolling.

Don’t use the wall plugs that come with it, they are not fit for purpose, they just spin so screws won’t go in. Fortunately I had my own rawl plugs and installed without issue using them. Hose works as it should, didn’t have any issues with kinks as mentioned in other reviews. Just watered the gardens, one with the included spray gun and one attached to a sprinkler. So far happy with the hose reel.

It performs well, however the connections supplied could done to have bebeen a better quality as water from the tap leaks out onto the ground which is a waste, so I used Karcher fittings instead. Amazing result!

I’ve used the free standing hose reels for years and assumed they were all designed to make it as difficult as possible to reel the hose back in after use. They had tiny little plastic handles which required superhuman force to drag the hose back onto the reel. Was pleasantly surprised with how easy the Giraffe was to install. Nothing really to assemble and only a couple of holes to drill in the wall before its up and running. An absolute breeze to use and it reels itself back in after use! Should have bought this years ago. Love it. Get one.

Just 3 bolts and it was mounted onto the wall as solid as you like. All you need to do this is supplied.

Very fast rewind
This is a great product but be careful when rewinding it’s very fast and and cut my husbands finger quite badly,we have learnt now to hold the hose and let it rewind at your pace.also it does not do a180degree

Buy one! I’ve spent years messing about buying all sorts of hose pipes. I spent more time untangling then watering. I couldn’t bring myself to spend “big” on a hosepipe. I was making a schoolboy error!
This comes ready assembled. You just have to drill 3 holes in the wall to mount it.
It automatically recoils. With a simple tug the hose gets drawn back into the housing. Wow what a difference!

Very good love the almost 180 degrees of movement the auto retract for the hose my only 2 bad things are the hole guide in the manual is not to size almost 4mm off in the length and only other problem is the holes of the mounting screws are very tight to the frame have to force a socket over it or use an open ended spanne
Excellent product. Expensive but works really well and worth spending a bit more for it. Easy to mount on a wall and very secure. The return to the reel works smoothly coiling the pipe up inside the drum neatly. Pipe is also a good quality and it comes with a rose head attachments.
Only one minor point. When mounted on the wall it doesn’t quite swing through 180 degrees, more like 160 but not enough of a drawback to knock a star off!

I had some issues with nozzle, but customer service returned me 20$ back to purchase new one.If in future I will decide to purchase another one for front yard, it definitely will be their product.

It works as advertised, and it's durable. After heavy used, it broke just before the warranty ends, and the company sent me a new replacement.

Great reel. Couldn’t bring myself to drill into my stone wall so I bought a piece of 24 inch by 24 inch by inch and a half blue stone and mounted a 4×4 to it using a post bracket. Works perfectly! This company stands behind their product. The first hose real I bought a year ago started to leak Doris had a new reel at my doorstep 2 days after I submitted the warranty claim. Fantastic customer service!

Really like this reel. I watched reviews on so many and finally decided on this one and am glad I did. Delivers plenty of water, extends and retracts easily. Seems to be of high quality and customer service is very good. Had a little issue that was rectified quickly and easily. Installation was tough for me in that I had to install a 4x4 into a boot anchored into a concrete slab but love the final resul
