Great Pan and the non stick actually works no need for oil when cooking most things

This GreenPan 4 pcs Non Stick, Toxin Free Ceramic Pots & Pans Set looks great in all black and the pots’ bases are nicely weighted. The 3 pots come with lids and have Casserole-style handles, which I really like. This means there are no long, prutruding handles to get in the way while cooking and it’s easy to have the pots side by side on the hob (I have a large gas hob). The handles make for a balanced lift, even when the pots are full and the pots are attractive enough to be taken straight to the table at a dinner party and the meal served from there. The saucepan is a good size has a handy pouring lip on both sides.
The Thermolon Ceramic non-stick coating does a great job on all 4 pieces and I only use soft plastic and sometimes wooden utensils to protect the coating, even although the coating is claimed to be metal utensil safe.
This is an attractive, good quality set. The reason that I did not award 5 stars is that I feel the 150 price tag is too high for such a competitive market.

We already had the smaller casserole pan.. and this is just as good. Totally non-stick, you can use metal utensils, and it is so easy to clean.

    I got this s 4-piece cookware set includes a 18 cm, 20 cm & 24 cm Non-Stick Casserole (3 lids included) and a 16 cm Saucepan with 2 spouts. I found them pretty handy.
Normally I used the 16cm to warm some milk or make some noodles. It is really easy to use, the size is perfect for one portion. the 2 spouts are very good for pouring.
I have tried size 20 cm and 24cm for steaming and steming food. What i like about it is the non-stick thermolon infinity 3 layer coating is indeed quite non-sticky. The food were heated up evenly and quickly.

The lids are pretty nicely made, sturdy and durable. Price wise, it is a bottle expensive, but I can see it is at the higher end side.

    PROS:

    1) VERY STRONG AND DURABLE NON-STICK COATING
    2) 4 USEFUL SIZES
    3) WORKED VERY WELL ON A GAS HOB
    4) THE SURFACE SPARKLES (MY WIFE TOLD ME TO WRITE THIS ONE!)
    5) GOOD THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY
    6) THE THERMALON NON-STICK IS SUPERB

    CONS:

    1) THERE IS NO WAY TO RELEASE STEAM ON THE LIDS
    2) CLAIMS TO BE “GREEN”, BUT ALUMINIUM (BAUXITE (Aluminium Oxide)) EXTRACTION IS AN ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER!
    3) PRICING BASED ON ENVIRONMENTAL VIRTUE SIGNALLING

These pans are excellent, despite my concerns regarding their claims, despite using aluminium for the pans. Used on our gas cooker, thermal conductivity was even (checked using an infrared thermometer) with no significant differences between the centre and the edges of the pans. The coating is superb. Saying that their non-stick surface resists metal utensils is a red rag to a bull! I always like to road-test products honestly, so you can make informed choices. I gave the surfaces of the 3 pots and 1 pan (technically that is correct) a good scraping gouge with a metal spatula and there was NO damage to the coating. Bearing in mind if you were to replicate this test, there are many variables involved including angle of attack, force, material of the utensil etc etc. In other words, since these are a review set, and I take my duty seriously, you would be a fool to risk your set. However, for the absent-minded times when you pick up a metal utensil, perhaps in a rush, these will not scratch or be gouged. As with anything, repeated attacks in the same place WILL damage anything (think the US Tankbuster A10 Warthog plane. This fires high speed, large calibre bullets at the identical spot in rapid succession, and claims to be able to penetrate any thickness of armour. I’m not going to get into a debate about overstated claims, but you get the idea. Keep attacking something over and over in the same spot and failure will ensue).

I cooked a quick and easy mince curry in the largest of the pots. I was impressed with the capacity, and the conduction which really was excellent. My one and only gripe is that these pots have no obvious way of regulating or releasing steam. Thus, you have to tilt the lid to one side to leave a gap. This makes it harder to reduce the amount of liquid (in my case to thicken the curry gravy) without faffing about with the lid. The set is not cheap, though compared to the best pans which are iron, you can easily pay over 150 for one top notch pan. I think though, if you want a very good set of aluminium pans, and you have the cash (or credit!) these are a great set. Despite my misgivings, I still highly recommend this cookware. BUY THEM, THEY’RE DOTTORE APPROVED!

QUICK RECIPE FOR MINCE CURRY READY IN AROUND 30Mins

    INGREDIENTS
500g (just over a pound of mince, low fat that is less than 5%)
    1 tin of plum tomatoes
1/2 to 1 teaspoon of chilli powder (to taste)
    2 Tablespoons of Garam Masala
    Olive oil
1 large red onion (normal ones ok too) chopped coarsely
2-3 cloves of garlic (segments not whole bulbs) chopped finely
100gms of frozen garden peas (yes I know, but at least they’re not sultanas!)
    A capful of malt vinegar
    1 teaspoon of sugar

    300gms of Basmati rice.

    METHOD
    RICE
Wash the rice first in luke warm water, then in cold water, until the water is as clear as possible. Pour out the last wash’s water and refill the pan to about 3-4cm above the rice. Soak the rice for 20mins.
Bring the rice to the boil and keep a good eye on it. About 15 minutes is enough. Check the rice, by taking a fork and either carefully biting it, or feeling between your fingers. Rice is cooked when the rice has a consistency like a nut. It should not be sticky or soft! Once you have decided it is done, get a colander and tip the rice into it over the sink (carefully, unless you are Kwai Chang Caine from Kung Fu, oldies will remember it, don’t try lifting the pan without oven gloves!) Once the rice is in the colander, fill the pan about a quarter full of COLD water, and get the remaining rice by swirling and then pouring this over the rice in the colander. THIS IS THE SECRET OF FLUFFY RICE. Don’t use the boil dry method, it’s very random. By using cold water, you stop the cooking process, and you will have lovely, fluffy rice. Put the colander on top of the rice pan and let the residual water drain off. You MUST put a fork in the rice and turn it through, very 2 – 3 minutes, this will ensure that by the time the curry is ready, your rice will be perfect.

    CURRY
Heat some olive oil until it’s flowing nicely around the pan and its viscosity is less dense.
Add the onions and fry until caramelised (just starting to brown) you can speed this up by adding some salt to drive off excess water. Add the chopped garlic and fry for 30 seconds, then add the mince. (This is not the way you’d make a proper curry, but for speed, this will do!) Brown the mince, and then add the tin of tomatoes. Add two tomato tins full of water. Bring this to the boil. Add the chilli powder, Garam masala, vinegar and sugar, giving it a good stir. Turn the heat down to a simmer and cover the pan. Simmer for at least 20minutes. Then, after 20 mins, add the frozen peas and simmer for a further 10 mins.

Serve and enjoy and marvel at your creation! I hope you enjoy this very quick curry stew (that’s what is really, if I’m honest!)

A HIGH QUALITY SET OF PANS, RATHER PRICEY THOUGH!

I’ve been after a good pan set for my induction hob and was delighted when these came up .

This Greenpan cookware set arrived well packaged inside its own box . There are 3 casserole pots 18 20 &24 CMS with glass lids and 1 milk pan with handle and integrated pouring spout .

The handles on either side of the casserole pots are large enough that you can grip them comfortably , but not so large that they stick out too far .

This set is non stick .

Placing it on the induction hob the pans heat up evenly and extremely fast , so I’m going to have to adjust cooking times to compensate for this( less time cooking is never a bad thing )

The glass lids fit well over the casserole pots and have the same type of handle to lift them up .

The best thing about the casserole pots is that they are oven proof up to 180 and considering I cook everything at this heat I’m impressed .

Cooking a decent casserole has never been easier , and washing up afterwards is a breeze .

I always hand wash my pots and pans , these ones , even with hardened baked on food were simple . I filled them with detergent and hot water left for two minutes then used a silicone sponge brush to clean . The baked on food literally fell away from the sides leaving to pots clean and the non stick costing intact .

These pans are just what I need . I’m spending more and more time in the kitchen . The only thing I need now is a decent frying pan to complete my set .

Priced currently at 150 ( no one ever said induction compatible pans were cheap ) I think this 4 piece set is an absolute bargain . and can’t recommend it highly enough .

These pans are 1st class. Non stick is an understatement and are so easy to clean. I batch cook at weekends, so bought this set as I hate handles sticking out everywhere, so these are perfect. Expensive? Yes, but you get what you pay for. Liked this set so much, I went and bought a small frying pan, wok & saute pan to match.

They are probably the most I’ve ever spent on a set of saucepans but glad I spent the extra pennies. Have been using this set of saucepans for the last 6 months and been very impressed. They are so easy to clean, (even when I’ve burnt food in them). It says dishwasher safe but quite honestly I tend to wash them by hand as it’s no effort! They have made it in to dishwasher once or twice with no adverse effects.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersLove this frying pan and also the saucepan I have. Heats up quickly. Certainly faster than other pans. Cooks evenly. Extremely easy to clean. Scrambled egg comes off simply and easily. Always a pain with other pans. DO ALWAYS use a soft cloth to clean it. Can’t answer for its durability as I have only had it for a short time but regardless plan on buying an entire set of GreenPan Memphis pans.

Great non stick pan with no Teflon. Just as non stick as Teflon coated pans but much better to use as no harmful chemicals are given off regardless of how hot it gets. Great size too. Very pleased, will buy more in different sizes. Highly recommend!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersVery pleased with this frying pan and bought it because of all the safety warnings and dangers associated with teflon and other coatings. Took a couple of days to get used to, as you have to heat it slowly before adding oil. It retains temperature so isn’t quite as ‘instant’ to control. It is so easy to clean. We just wipe it around with kitchen paper. I would have found the all ceramic ones way too heavy, but this frying pan is ideal and lovely to use.

I’ve not owned any non-stick pans for years, being suspicious of PTFE and its potential for getting into food. However, with two children heading to self-catering halls at university, I thought they’d end up with cheap non stick frying pans if I didn’t intervene! I bought each of them a GreenPan, and continued with my own stainless steel frying pan… No longer! They bought me this one for Christmas, and it is excellent! Perfectly crisped fried potato is probably the highlight so far.
