    Are they both Halti leads?
I bought 2 “Halti” leads, one in red for my own dog and one in purple for my daughter’s dog! There was a difference in price but I assumed the purple lead was more expensive because of the colour. When they arrived the purple lead had a fabric backing to it while the red one was just webbing! Also the clips on the purple lead were bigger and chunkier! The brand logo was also different on each lead. I have kept them both as they are sufficient for my needs but I’m wondering if either are actually ‘Halti’ leads as they are so different although the Halti label on the purple lead does show an R in a circle indicating a trademark brand which the red one does not!

    Great comfort and control
This a great lead! It’s comfortable to hold and you feel that you have a better grip on it. It’s function is much the same as other double ended leads, with loops for different lengths. However, this is by far the most comfortable and secure lead for the handler that I have ever used. Highly recommend this product.

    Good lead for two dogs
We have been using this to walk my mothers two dogs (yorkies!). For this purpose – with two small dogs – it works very well. It is well made and strong. It certainly makes walking multiple dogs much easier.

    Would recommend.

This is a very sturdy, well made and strong lead. If you’ve a big strong dog it’s great. It can be made a bit longer if a little more freedom is required. Or, in my case, one end can be attached to halti head collar and the other to a harness. However, I feel it’s too thick to hold comfortably, wrapping it around my hand. And, it’s quite heavy. The metal clips are quite heavy duty and I’m sure it pulls down on dogs head collar too much. I preferred the last halti lead I had, which was thinner, but more comfortable to hold, and dog didn’t complain so much about wearing head collar. My husband, who doesn’t use head collar, says there’s nothing wrong with it (he’s got bigger hands). So, just preference, I suppose. Well made though.

Lasted quite a long time. I really like the different lengths and the fact you can clip to the front and top of harness for extra control. My pup has bitten it quite a few times when out on a walk but it has lasted longer than any others

    A great multiway lead.
This is a great lead all round. I’m really happy with it.
I’m a dog walker so I need my leads to be durable and comfortable for various dog breeds from the tiny to the giants.
This lead really covers all bases really well.
I like to clip the leads around my waste for my dogs that pull and it does the trick perfectly and comfortably for me. It doesn’t cut into my waist and has a good amount of length left for the dogs to walk comfortabley ahead of me.
The colours are a great added bonus too. My brand is blue as it’s the colour they see best so the blue leads are perfect.
I really recommend for anyone who needs a lead whoch can be worn multiway comfortably.

The Halti double ended lead is of good quality and has several rings to alter the configuration and length of the lead.
It can be a short lead, plus 2 other lengths. It can be clipped to a waist belt if you wanted to use another lead on a collar as an additional safety measure.
We use this lead with the Halti No Pull Harness and they both work together really well. Our puppy walking has transformed since using these. She no longer pulls, walking to hill the majority of the time.
We are extremely pleased with the quality and efficiency of the lead, and would recommend this to others.

Second of these leads we’ve had; the first one lasted a few years with our last dog and seven years with our current pooch – so all in all about 15 years in all weathers. Can be used as a restraint lead or for walking two dogs at once. the only weakness is the raised pip on the sliding catches might snap off – but they still work, so just a slight annoyance. I’d say you can’t get a better lead.

I got a large lead which for a Scottie was to big to handle. I then got a small size and I found that it is so useful. I can have it long or short depending where I’m walking her. If you go to Dog Training they seem to train you using this sort of lead. It seems well made and thought out. Would recommend it.

This lead is excellent! I’ve tried a number of different harnesses and leads in an attempt to reduce my Sprocker’s pulling but this worked instantly. I saw someone on the street using a double ended lead for their greyhounds, which is why I oedered. My dog already had a double harness that can be clipped at the back and the chest, which is how we use it. It controls the front of his body while providing a strong hold at his back. I never used to be able to walk my dog myself but since getting this lead, I can! It’s not stretchy, it’s sturdy and thick and the clips are strong and metal. Definitely worth a try if you’re struggling with a dog that pulls!

I bought this as my pup is still chewing the lead occasionally and the softer Halti adjustable leads just fray over time. This seems to work better but is not as comfortable/soft to hold. Once we are through the chewing stage I’ll go back to the other Halti version. The reflective strip is just on one side of the lead and I wish and expected it to be woven throzugh, so visible from both sides.

I had the previous version of this for many years. I must admit I preferred the older one as I could attach both clips to my beagles harness & collar and it was comfortable to hold. This new one is harder, tougher but not nice on the hand to hold. One benefit is it’s not as chewable it will last longer. I would still buy the old type as well if I find one.

Double ended feature is so useful
I have had double ended leads before, as one of my dogs is quite difficult to control at times, and I often have one end linked to a harness with the other attached to her collar. It’s easy to unclip either end and use the lead at different lengths. I purchased this one thinking it was the padded type that I’d had before and only realised when I got it that it was just the woven variety. Thus it can be uncomfortable to hold and a strain on the hand when the dog pulls but it is still a strong and useful lead.

Great lead – I have a small-medium cockapoo (10kg) who is a PULLER!! She has a PerfectFit harness and I use this lead and it attach it to both the front and back of the harness so it’s a lot harder for her to pull. I also use it for training – to give her a bit of ‘roaming’ room when we’re in public places. It’s also super easy to clean.

Great for my collie and Labrador. I use the clip onto their collars and a carabiner joining the two hoops which gives me a handle mid way and the two hounds up front! I have used Halti a lot and have always found them strong and durable. Same great functionality, now quicker drying.
I’ve had an old Halti lead for many years now and I required a second lead to compliment my new puppy. This lead is an improvement on the old Halti leads – it has a reflective stripe down one edge and it has much thinner material that dries quickly. My old lead is still in use, but it takes a lot longer to dry.

I’ve always loved the multi functional ability of these leads. I tend to use the lead in one of three ways, depending on where I’m walking.

    – Full length, with a small loop for my hand. Perfect for more relaxed walks
    – Half length with both ends clipped onto the collar. The hand loop half way down allows for closer control in an urban environment
    – A large loop over my shoulder for hands-free dog walking

I’ve used several Halti products now. They’ve always just worked and I have a lot of confidence in their products, I’ve been recommending them for years. This lead is no exception.

Great quality and nice extras, but hard on the hand if you don't attach to another lead
We tested these with my parent’s dog – a dog with a short attention span who pulls a lot.
We really like the reflective strips, which are well situated and certainly work wonders in the darkness of winter and the overall quality of the lead is strong and will last a long. Also around the clips.
My only issue is that there is no specific holding area on this lead, so you need an extra lead clipped on for that comfort or you can hold it over the shoulder like my dad does, but that will not work for all.

    instructions would be useful
This is a good, strong, multi-function lead. However, quite how the clips are supposed to work and the various permutations are not explained and the customer is left to work it out for themselves. A small instruction guide would have been very useful. As it is, we keep it in the car as a spare as it can be used conventionally, but guidance on the clips would have been more than welcome.

First class lead...perfect for the strong and wilful pet.
This Halti Double Ended Multi-functional Lead has become my son’s newest best friend. He has a large two year old Lurcher who is not the best on a lead, especially if he sees something that he wants to give chase to like a bird, rabbit etc.

This lead can be used in quite a few different ways and includes…three different lead lengths, a hands free option (attaching to a belt or similar), attaching the lead to a head collar or harness and can also be used to walk two dogs together. The lead is made from very strong webbing and the trigger clips are also strong and extremely robust, in fact this lead gives you total confidence when walking your dog in knowing that the lead is unlikely to break allowing your dog to run away.

My son has a leather lurcher harness complete with a back handle and this lead attaches to the ring on the back of the harness and also to his dog’s collar at the same time. This gives him full control of his dog when out walking whilst using the minimum of effort on his part. The lead is comfortable to hold and does not cut into my son’s hands even if his dog is pulling.

So all in all, my son is delighted with this Halti Double Ended lead with only one reservation…the lead received for reviewing is a delicate lilac in colour and my son’s dog is a black and tan male bull lurcher…apparently some people have thought that his dog is a female because of the colour of the lead.

    Very Useful Lead
Good quality and easy to use, this double-ended lead is great for my new pointador puppy. When I’m walking her on her own it’s really easy to turn it into a simple long lead with a nice comfortable loop for a handle. If she gets a little rowdy it’s no problem at all to adjust it so that she has one clip on her collar and another on her harness, giving me a little more control. Best of all, I can also walk her with my older dog, the pair of them trotting along beautifully calmly, leaving me only one lead to juggle.

Halti (Company of Animals) products are always good quality — I use their collars for all my dogs — and this is no exception. It’s softly padded, nicely made, affordable and durable. The reflective strip is thin and only on one side, but I’ve found it surprisingly bright when needed. In all I can’t fault it.

Good and useful multi-length and multifunctional lead
[Reviewed by Mrs O’] this Double Ended Multi-functional Lead by Halti is a sturdy multi-functional lead which gives you different options and lengths for walking and training your dog. I’m a fan of these types of leads, since we went to doggy training with our pup when they were young and the Halti one is good example of these types of leads but with the added advantage of also working if you have two dogs. We’ve only got one, so we couldn’t try that functionality, but the robustness of the design means that the lead could definitely tale the strain of two dogs. Because of the multifunctional design and the weight needed in the lead to enable this functionality, it is quite heavy, heavier than our other multi-length lead, and for me that’s a little bit of a negative; it’s not too heavy to use, but I always prefer light but strong equipment (this might be a moot point for you).

The two tone blue colour of the lead is pleasing and the reflective strip is useful when walking your dog in the dark, and helps you to be seen by motorists. This Halti product is a well made and a useful lead to own.

    Handy lead
This is a really handy lead to have in the drawer for when you have an extra dog to look after (or of course if you have 2 dogs!). The clips are very strong and well made and the lead itself is tough. My dogs had issues at all walking together, in fact they seemed more controlled.

You will need to clip your existing leads to this (some double headers are all in one).

    Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGood, sturdy lead, nice to use but the...
This is a well-constructed lead that is a pleasure to use. It is about the right length, if you prefer to keep your dog reasonably close to you, and just the right thickness to feel reassuringly strong (without being too heavy).

I only really use it on the longest “setting” (with a small loop to hold with my right hand), but the fact it has clips at either end is very useful for tethering my dog to both his harness and collar, when required (to be fair, this is only outside the chippy and I’m only three feet away–though he still barks!)

The only downside is that the reflective strip is fairly thin and is only stitched on one side. Though it is bright when headlights are directly on it, it feels a bit gimmicky as most of the time I’m too busy making sure my dog is safely tucked away at the side of the road to think about which way the lead is facing. If you’re thinking of buying it for this reason then forget it and buy yourself a reflective vest for your dog instead.

Other than that, though, it is a very good lead and I now use it daily.

    Solid
We already have a couple of Halti leads and I was initially a little concerned that this seemed much thinner, but it turns out this is more of an advantage than a disadvantage.

It’s a double ended lead with a variety of hitching loops, giving you an awful lot of flexibility over how you use it.

The material is quite grippy, which is handy when you have a determined mutt hauling you all over the place.

The clips are good and sturdy and easy to operate.

I like Halti gear in general and this hasn’t disappointed me.

    Great and versatile dog lead
This dog lead is good value. It also is a lovely colour and easy to clean. There are so many adaptations of how to use it. It has literally transformed the way I walk my dog. I really enjoy clipping the lead around my waist, and to the dog, so that I can walk hands free. It’s much better, for me, than holding onto the lead.
There are many other permutations. You can walk two dogs simultaneously with the one lead, which is less of a faff than holding onto two leads and having them get tangled up. There is an instruction leaflet, with several other suggested ways to use. It’s a simple design, but really effective and makes life walking a dog much easier.

  75. FawnHertzl says:

    Fulfilling Functionality
This double ended dog lead may be regarded as fulfilling functionality due to usage in a variety of ways. Essentially it is an extra-long (2 metres) leash with robust metal trigger clips fixed to metal rings sewn at each end, and with 2 further intermediately sewn metal rings that allow the lead to be shortened. In addition to ‘traditional’ use the lead may be used double like a harness to give extra control, or used with 2 dogs together. The leash is ideal for tying the dog to a fixture, or for wearing one end around the waist for hands-free. There is no handle-loop as such but the lead is easy grip and comfortable to hold. The lead is attractively coloured (mauve) strong webbing (24mm wide) with sewing double stitched and with an interwoven reflective strip for safely walking at night.

    Best Brand
This is a great lead, offering superb flexibility for use.

It’s a lovely soft neoprene type construction, yet strong enough to withstand my probe-to-pulling puppy.

The lead is reflective, as well as a nice shade of blue.

I particularly like the flexibility of different lengths for road versus open space work.

Great value and a great brand to trust. Recommended.

Versatile, especially good for two dogs
This works very well and is particularly useful for stronger ‘enthusiastic’ dogs. I think it’s well thought out and versatile and I especially like how easy it is to clip the lead to a gate or bench to restrain the dog without having to unclip the lead from the dog’s collar or harness (risking a run-off).

Anything not to like? Well, it is fairly heavy and the wide webbing is not the most comfortable to hold with bare hands, particularly if the dog pulls a lot, and without a conventional loop for one’s hand it takes a little time to develop a new holding technique.

It’s worth having a look at the video on the product’s page to see the various ways the lead can be used (eight ways I think).

On the downside, the waist lead needs an adjustment to fit all waist sizes and it lacked a good handle so it felt a worry about keeping hold of the lead properly. Not a bad lead, overall.

    Attractive versatile double ended lead
This is a smart and sturdy lead, an attractive blue with reflective stitching to improve your (and your dog’s) visibility in the dark. The double ended lead is very versatile – doubled up, it works like a normal lead. Extended, it can be used as a long lead. Walk two dogs by clipping one end on each collar. Loop it around a chair etc. when sitting with your dog outside (but don’t leave unattended – it is fabric and could be chewed through quite easily). Can be looped round your shoulder when the dog is off the lead. It can be machine washed. The trigger clips are well made and easy to clip one-handed. The only thing I’m not so keen on is that the lead is flat and quite broad, and not particularly comfortable to hold compared with round leads or softer fabric.
This lead goes well with the matching collar which I highly recommend.

The Great Amazon Vine Testing Beagle really likes this especially as it allows her to go walking with her boyfriend, Cormack. Like all Halti products it’s very well made and extremely strong. Highly recommended, especially if you have two dogs!

    Great lead for dogs
Lovely lead, I’ve never used one like this before. It’s very well made, good stitching and tough. It’s a nice colour and the reflective strip on one side is a very good touch. It is very adaptable and works exceptionally well for two dogs at the same time. Very pleased with it indeed.

    A good produc
This is exactly the quality that the world has come to expect of Halti products.

The lead is well designed, easy to use and rugged.

The 8 uses are easy to adapt to and this will suit most dogs. Particularly like this because with two dogs on the one lead this leaves a hand free for walking stick or throwing ball and for picking up after the dogs.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAn Excellent Quality, Versatile Dog Lead
Halti DOUBLE ENDED MULTI-FUNCTION Lead — LARGE in RED

There is such a huge range of necessities for our family dogs these days, but some are better and more useful than others, and that is where this lead comes in.
    1st Impressions:-
    * This Lead is well presented security affixed on to a display hook along with an attached card about the Halti Lead.
    * The lead has a definite feel of quality and precise manufacturing. The Company of Animals was founded by Roger Mugford MRCVS, who was an innovator concerning animal behaviour and psychology, and then in tandem with his work in this field, then created a range of dog accessories and training aids of various sorts.
    * The card shows details about the lead as well as illustrations for use of this multi-functional lead. It is multi-lingual

    In Use:-
    * This is a beautifully sturdy lead, in a lovely rich Red with the added benefit of reflective stripes which provide visibility even in low light conditions.
    * Having had dogs in the past that had slightly sensitive skin, it has always been important to me to have collars, leads and harnesses that do not have any ‘sharp’ parts. At all points where the fabric of the lead is folded over and where the trigger hooks are affixed, not only has it been very well stitched, but the fabric has been folded over so as to eliminate any sharpness. Thus there will be no irritation to the dog or owner.
    * The lead is extremely comfortable to hold which is particularly important for owners of the heavier dogs and those that have a tendency to pull their owners along!
    * As well as wearing collars, our two dogs are always walked with their harnesses. The black trigger hooks on this lead fits well on either, and the spring of the trigger has a strong, but smooth action and springs back into place when released and there is no gap — it butts up completely. It is a good sized hook too.
    * This Multi-Function, double ended lead is such good quality, it really is. It has an overall length of 6ft 6ins / 2 metres with a width of 1 inch /25mm.
    * There are so many options and adjustment with this lead and is very good for training. You can walk hands free with the dog on a lead. This is useful for owners who like to jog but are in areas where a dog must be on lead. Also perhaps for mums with little ones in buggies as it is not always easy to hold the family dog on a lead at the same time as negotiating a buggy and perhaps with a little one walking too.
    * The double ended trigger hooks come into their own for training/extra control by clipping one end to a Harness and the other to a Head Collar.
    * The lead can become a hitch to fix your dog to a dog anchor, a post, a park bench, a tree etc. when sitting out. The dog is safe with you yet has room to move but not enough to pester other people.
    * If you have two dogs on leads and do not have a coupler, the fact that the Multi-Function Lead is double ended means you only need this one lead with the two trigger hooks.
    * This Lead can be used short for road walking, medium or long.
    * Should the lead get dirty, it will hand wash well and not take too long to dry.

I have 2 rescue dogs, and this lead is great for walking them together or own their own, and attached to their collars or as is the most usual for me, on their harnesses.

At time of writing this Review, the RRP is just 13.99 which is EXCELLENT value for a dog lead of this quality and versatility.

A dog lead is a safety product and costs must not be cut. This is the best lead of this style that I have used. In my opinion this lead is suitable for many different sized dogs and would only be unsuitable for the really tiny breeds like Chihuahuas, Papillons, Mexican Hairless, Chinese Crested, Yorkshire Terriers and similar sized pedigree, crossbreeds or mongrels, as it would be a bit too heavy for them.

I have no hesitation in awarding this Halti DOUBLE ENDED Lead the full 5 stars and more if I could!
Please remember though that nothing is indestructible for a determined chewer!

Also, due to the prevalence of dog theft, it is NOT advisable to leave your dog alone & hitched outside a shop etc whilst you go in. It only takes seconds for a thief to snatch your beloved dog.

    Great produc
Halti products are always of good quality and durability. They are well made and this lead is no exception. Sturdy, strong and of good length. I like that you have options to attach your dog in different ways depending on what you are doing.

    Good quality and strong.
A really sturdy leash so that I can manage two big mutts on one lead. This Leash is a godsend! There are plenty of double leashes around for small dogs but less are suitable for my big boys. This one is multi-functioning and can be used as a long single or a double and its strong and doesn’t tangle. Excellent!

    Washable, strong and reliable.
Halti leads really are excellent – the clips are all strong and solid metal which gives you confidence when restraining and pulling back, and the woven fabric is both kind on the hands as well as being very thick and flexible.

This design allows you many different ways of using the lead – you can couple it up with a harness, a muzzle – you can even use it for two dogs at the same time. For close work, it can be worn over the shoulder across the chest.

I have a Staffie who is constantly pulling enthusiastically, and I’ve always used Halti leads. Although I like leather leads, I prefer these ones because they are fully machine washable – and they do really need it in terms of hygiene after a while.

The colour is really pretty, too.

They last a very long time and I can recommend them wholeheartedly.

Useful piece of dog walking ki
Excellent quality as all the Halti products are and a very useful addition to our dog walking kit. We’ve used a similar one (though not quite as good a design) for years. We use this Halti one in several ways. You can wrap it round your waist to help take the strain if you are walking a strong pulling dog, use it loop round and tie the dog up to a post or easily walk two dogs on one lead. Strong, well made and the reflective strip is a useful addition.

Halti Double Ended Multi-functional Lead. Two-tone Red with reflective strip, L
From reliable manufacturer Halti, the ‘Halti Double Ended Multi-functional Lead, with reflective strip and 2 reinforced trigger clips. Two-tone Red with reflective strip, L’ is a nylon dog lead which can be used in an impressive eight different ways. These are: as a short dog lead; as a medium dog lead; as a long dog lead (bear with me… !); as a double dog lead (clipping one end to each dog, iditarod style); as a tether for temporarily securing your dog while out; as a hands-free waistbelt dog lead; and finally, two different options for fastening to a multi-point harness.

This plethora of uses makes this lead impressively versatile, especially considering the simplicity of the design. The lead is made from strong yet soft bright red nylon, with a reflective strip woven right through it for nighttime safety. The clips seem like they will be durable (obviously one should check the clips periodically on ANY dog lead), and the nylon is the type which will not fray at the edges provided your dog doesn’t chew it.

Great value, versatile and trustworthy lead.

    Excellent adjustable strap
This is a good piece of kit, robust washable and adjustable about 5 or so main ways.
Your hands won’t slip through. One thing to watch is with bigger dogs the rings can hurt if the dog pulls hard and the lead slips through your fingers.
    Excellent product.

    Flexible adjustability
This is a really practical lead which can be used in a number of different ways.
    – the two ends can be attached to the two sides of a head collar or a harness.
    – one end can be attached to a waist belt and the other to the dog for handsfree use.
    – one end can be attached to something like a post so the dog can be teathered.
    – Two dogs can be walked with the same lead.
    – The lead can be arranged in three different lengths (short, mid and long)

The other key features that it has are:
    – reflective throughout the length of the lead.
    – waterproof
    – washable at 30degC
    – breathable
    – quick-drying

This is a really useful lead that will be particularly useful for night-time walking in the winter, but equally at any time because of its flexibility.

    It has been well throughout.

    Using.
It is very versatile, strong and the clips are nice and big making them easy to attach. This is a quality lead system.

    Overall.

Extra long lead, full-fills multiple purposes
I can use this folded for a short lead, un-clip on end for a long lead or even better, clip two doggies together and use a retractable tape lead and walk both together in the park. This is especially useful when a young dog is learning from an experienced well behaved dog.
It also gives them freedom to sniff with tangling me up in their shenanigans.

The lead is very strong and well sewn. The clips are proper solid metal, not the flimsy cheap ones on some brands.
I already have one of these leads and it has proved an excellent lead.
Now I have one for the car, it is also helpful when you spot a lost dog in distress in the middle of the road – yes it happens to me. simple clip and off you go, so much better than the bungee cord in the boot.

    Nice lilac colour too.

Fantastic lead for those with two dogs
The lead connects two collars together, or arguably puts a “rein” type lead on a single dog.

The distance between the two dogs, if tethered together could be as far as 3 feet, so having dogs that walk together well is somewhat important. However, this lead is strong enough and well made enough to cope with large strong breeds, though I would think hard about putting it on a pulling breed of large and strong disposition.

Out two lab sized dogs (large heavy labs) will be fine and we will use this to tether them onto one lead such that we have a free hand when walking them. Be confident with quality and longevity this is a well-made lead with solid fixings.

I really like this lead – it feels strong and robust – the clips are good.
The colour is useful – you can see where you left it!
    Very impressed.
You can use it for 2 dogs which is very good too.

Sturdy (and weighty) Multi Functional Lead
Exceptional quality and manufacturer – as you’d expect from Halti. This is a lovely combination lead, I used something very similar (from Trixie) when training my puppy, but as the puppy got bigger, the lead fixings got broken. That’s not going to happen with this lead.

Two end clips swivel, meaning the lead doesn’t get twisted and tangled (and means you can walk hands free if you have somewhere on your body to clip it on to). A handy card tells you the 8 ways the lead can be used, but for puppy training, it means you can have a short lead for practising walking to heel and a longer lead for more relaxed sessions. You can also use the lead with two dogs. The inclusion of a reflective woven strip in also a bonus.

The only issue I would have is that my dog is a mini daxie and the beautiful strong clips means the lead weighs 200g. So may be not really suitable for smaller dogs.

    Great Lead
This is a great dog lead, it can be used for either one or two dogs, it feels pretty strong and well made and is comfortable to hold on walks, our dog loves it too.

The reflective strip is a nice touch, and it is not a bad price either, so I highly recommend this! It is easy to wash too!

    Excellent lead
This has replaced my original Halti training lead purchased12 years ago which was only just starting to show its age. I have no doubt the Halti Double Ended Multi-functional Lead will live up to the longevity of it’s predecessor. It is a very strong and robust lead, with great functionality. Not only can it accommodate two dogs, and varying lead lengths for a single dog, but it also has a tether, and will allow for hands free use. The links feel completely secure, and I’m confident they would take the strain of even the strongest puller. It can accommodate multi point connections to a harness and/or collar for dogs that require more control. The reflective strip is a nice touch for those of us walking dogs in the dark. Whilst there are cheaper leads on the market, having had a Halti lead in the past and can attest to their durability, both of the webbing and the clips, for 13.99 I’d say it was worth every penny.

    Double-ended dog lead
Halti Double Ended Multi-functional Dog Lead

There are pros and cons to this lead, especially if you’re used to using a retractable leash. If you’re looking for a double-ended leash, it does have a variety of uses and there is no doubt this particular one is a quality product.

=== THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT ===

    * Provides extra control for unruly dogs who need to be controlled on two points on the harness and collar
    * Useful if you want to tether the dog around your waist rather than holding the lead in your hands
    * Also easy to tether on a bench or post when leaving your dog or at a cafe
    * Comes into its own as a a leash for two dogs
    * Can also be adjusted for use as a short, medium or long lead
    * Flawless fabric, stitching and finish
    * Super-strong reinforced construction
    * Reflective strips
    * Washable

    === NIGGLES ===

    * I am used to using a retractable leash, and it’s a very different experience using this type of leash

A very well made and useful multi mode dog lead
This is a good and strong multi purpose lead. It can be used for one or two dogs and short medium or long lengths, as well as an easy tether mode and a couple of others. It is quite thick so will probably suit medium to large dogs.

It is made of good quality washable webbing with sturdy clips and rings. There is a very effective reflective strip along the whole length of the lead.

    It's a Halti - its quality.
The clips are well bedded into the swivels and they feel really good quality as are two of the rings. The stitching around the rings and hooks is excellent, it looks and feels strong, but see my note toward the end about the ‘third’ ring. It is a lovely light purple colour, my wife loves it, not sure what the 8 stone Rottweiler on the end of it thinks though!
The lead will accommodate two dogs or a variety of positions depending on the need at the time. It has a reflective strip on one side on a light purple background, the other side is darker purple webbing. If I were to be ultra piccy, I would ask that the HALTI logo be made of a softer material, the rubberised one fitted to this lead – and the last couple I have had, can be uncomfortable. I also would like to say that I find the larger ring of the two a bit of a hazard, I know its there and its larger so that it can form a handle, which in itself is not something I advocate, I think if a dog is for whatever reason going to drag a handler into any danger, it should be easy to let go of the lead and it shouldn’t be tied to the handler in any way, its the ring itself I have a problem with, it is very easy to slide a thumb or finger into this large aperture without being aware of it. Should the dog suddenly pull it is very easy to injure the appendage and I must admit to cutting the ring off before any damage can be done. It makes the lead a little less flexible in use but a great deal safer.
On the whole it is a good lead built for strength and longevity, it is not expensive.
its a lead I have confidence in, and have no trouble in giving Five Stars for the quality.
