Helly Hansen Womens Jacket W Aden Long Coa

This coat is chic enough to wear on a rainy day in Paris, sturdy enough to wear hiking in the woods, and edgy enough to blend into the bar crowds at night. I have a collection of raincoats, but as soon as I got this one, the rest went into storage! I love this coat, and its been money very well spent.

I’ve been using it regularly through the rainy winter and spring (since December of 2019), and its held up really well. No leaks, and it looks brand new despite the fact that I have put it through the ringer. I honestly love to walk in the rain, and this has kept me cozy and dry. Its got a little bit of weight to it, so its perfect for those 40 to 70 degree rainy days…but any warmer than that and it starts getting a little hot in there.

I’m slender/average – 5’7″ with a 34′ bust and hip, and the medium fits me very well. Just roomy enough that I can wear a sweater or sweatshirt underneath, but also not too lose for the days when I’m just wearing a t-shirt. As others have said, the cuffs are pretty tight, but I don’t mind it!

The only con is the pockets. My jacket arrived with a small hole in one of the pockets- but the fleece was easily sewn up, and I haven’t had a problem since. Other than that, the pockets are kind of tight, but I can usually manage to fit in the following: Wallet, tampons, chapstick in the inside breast pocket; phone, airpods, sunglasses, keys in the hand pockets. The phone is kind of hard to get in and out, that’s the main downside. And there’s not much room left for your hands. One day I might pull out the fleece and extend the pockets a bit.

Una prenda de calidad. La he usado practicando ski con mal tiempo y responde perfectamente a mis espectativas. Repele el agua 100%. No deja pasar el aire y muy transpirable. Eso si, hay que ponerse una capa primaloft debajo ya que contra el fro no es la prenda ms adecuada. Muy cmoda, gran libertad de movimientos y la largura, al no ser muy estrecha da para moverse sin problemas. Es la nica prenda que me he comprado y el largo de las mangas va acorde con mis brazos, perfecta! Puo estrecho con 2 clics, se me hizo un poco incmodo usar con guantes ya que no me daba el puo para ponerlo por fuera y al ponerlo por dentro del guante me resultaba algo incmodo. Para vestir, es perfecto el puo.
Si le tengo que sacar alguna pega….creo que le falta un bolsillo en la manga para meter forfait.
Me encanta la parka, estoy muy satisfecha con la compra.

I love this jacket. I bought it 2 1/2 years ago for a trip to Scotland in November. It kept me warm and cozy (sometimes with a fleece jacket underneath) in cold weather and dry during heavy rain in the Highlands. It can be folded up and put in a small backpack (mine is 15L). It also is breathable – I never got too warm in it in 40 and 50 F weather. I wore it home a lot and then again this past May when I went to Ireland. I’m about to go to Paris, where it has been unusually warm for February. I had planned to take my long down coat, but this will be perfect for this trip, as it looks like it will rain a lot.

I noticed that someone said in a review that the jacket was not waterproof. All I know is that when I was in Oban in northern Scotland and it was raining cats and dogs (so to speak) with strong winds coming off the sea, and I had to walk from my B&B near the edge of town into the center to find a restaurant for dinner, and later back, it kept me dry under conditions that would soak an all-weather coat or even my water-resistant winter down coat.

In addition to protection from rain and sleet, having it zip well above the neck and having a hood means that one can stay reasonably dry when it’s too windy or otherwise difficult to manage an umbrella. OK, it was a lot more fashionable looking in dry weather (even in an XXL) when one does not need the hood or to be zipped up all the way (lots of possibilities with a scarf), but it was good to know that I could be fully protected from wind and rain if I needed it.

Love this jacket! Fits perfectly! I’m 5 foot 8, 128lbs. I bought a medium. I love the extra warmth around the neck, I wish the entire jacket was insulated.

It’s great quality and is perfect for rain.

I was looking for a light weight breathable rain jacket for walking my dog and running errands in mild weather. It runs small so I had to reorder a size up. But I an totally pleased. One important feature is that it hits below the hips leaving your rear high and dry no matter which way the rain is blowing.

Finally found a waterproof raincoat that would stand up to barn chores in the rain! I read about a zillion reviews before buying this coat. I’m so happy with it. It’s lightweight, actually waterproof, has zipped pockets, and the hood is the right size to keep my head dry. Plus, I like the fit. It’s long enough to keep water off of my bum (or down my pants when bending over) and is tapered at the waist.

The only thing that should make this raincoat incredible would be pockets inside the lining and a slightly longer brim on the hood.

Fits great. It’s hard to find decent outerwear that’s larger than XL. Great quality, too.

I love this coat! I got it for a trip to rainy Ireland in late September and it was perfect. It’s truly waterproof but light so that you can layer underneath – or not. The attached hood is great for a light drizzle or to keep the rain from going down your neck in a hard rain where an umbrella doesn’t help much. The high collar keeps wind and rain out and the overall design of the coat is stylish.

I have other HH jackets that are more fitted and shorter. I wanted a longer waterproof jacket with room to layer underneath. This is the perfect jacket. Not fitted, roomy in size and sleeves are long even for me. Generally I am a 10-12 and I am 5’9″ so I ordered the Large. I am quite happy because I want to put sweaters, turtlenecks and vests under it. If I had not wanted to layer then a Medium probably would have worked well.

This is a very attractive coat and fits well (sized up as other reviewers recommended). I am hoping for lots of rain and will take it on an upcoming trip to Dublin.

It’s a Helly Hansen! Of course it’s wonderful. Excellent product! I own two (one rain, one insulated) and bought this for a birding friend who reported her new jacket almost got as much attention as the Red-Shouldered Hawk!

Love everything about this jacket, except the HH on sleeve which limits wear to casual/sporty vs pulling off for more formal rainy events

Check your measurements as per the size guide. I did that and decided as a size 14-16, I was an XL. The XL allows some space for another layer underneath, Like a fleece or jumper. It is rainproof, and not just shower proof as a lot of the cheap macs in supermarkets are. Good hood also. I didn’t even bother putting my umbrella up when walking in the rain.

Awesome coat. As others have said, sizing runs small. I have the same coat with winter lining, so glad to have a lighter version, yet keeping the longer length.

I ordered the Aden in an XL, because all of the reviews said the fit was “true to size” or even a big roomy … but much to my dismay, it turned out to be very snug around the waist and a bit tight through the shoulders 🙁 (Note: I tried it on with a medium-weight sweatshirt underneath, since that’s how I’d be wearing it.) I’m exchanging it for the next size up, so I’m hoping that one fits!

Also, it’s described as being very lightweight, but I don’t think it really is — I have another HH raincoat that’s MUCH lighter than this one, and I was hoping this would be about the same weight. It’s certainly not a heavy raincoat, but not super-lightweight, either. And it’s quite a bit more “stiff” than my other HH raincot, which is very flexible.

Haven’t taken it for a test drive in the rain yet, so the jury’s still out on that 😀

I bought this for a trip this summer to Scotland. I’ve worn it once to test it out and it’s perfect. Fits nice, superb quality and most importantly kept the rain off. I will buy Helly Hansen again!

This is a fantastic jacket for my size 16-ish body. The 2XL fit my 46″ bust and 46″ hips with enough room for layering, but not so much room that the coat feels sloppy. It’s nicely tailored so that it doesn’t look like you’re wearing a tent.

This jacket functioned well as a windproof, waterproof shell over 3 layers during recent winter trip to Scotland. Admittedly, it didn’t have to face any wild rainstorm or blizzard. I am 5’8″, medium weight, ordered a Large. It is slimline, flattering, perfect body & arm length & armhole width. You could fit a chunky sweater under this. The material is lightweight, supple, matte & non-noisy. The hood & collar area fit perfectly. Hood rolls under well but does not look too ‘bumpy’ worn unrolled beneath long hair. Was looking for a 3 in1, but didn’t want to pay the price so did it myself, wearing Uniqlo ultra light down underneath. This is my 2nd Helly Hansen via Amazon, needed smaller size this year as lost weight. Now am seeing more people wearing Helly Hansen – price point? fashionable again?
