    This is the second Hive that I have purchased, as you cant move them when you move house easily. I have had no problems with Hive and the installation was done quickly and the British Gas engineer was knowledgeable and completed the installation quickly, I love that I can turn the heating on in advance of me getting home and I turned it off from Wales when I forgot and left the heating on whilst I was away over Christmas. It’s a great tool and should save you money on your bills!

    My sister has one of these and i was impressed with the functionality. It lost a star because the box was battered by the delivery company. Contents are ok which is the most important part however I don’t understand Amazon’s delivery/boxing method at times.

    Bought it to help with my laziness of changing the schedule on my old school thermostat.
    In a couple of days after ordering the Hive, a British Gas engineer came to install it and in under 45 minutes it was up and running.
    I’m using Hive with Google Assistant and Home, the engineer did a demo for me as well as he has his whole house full of Hive products paired with Google, and it works without a hitch.

    The product itself was great and cannot wait
    to finally use in the home. However my wife (who works for the NHS as a midwife) took a day off work in order to wait in for the pre booked (over 3 weeks prior) engineer to come in and install. At 2:30pm today my wife got a call from the engineer to say ‘he was too busy’ and would need to re schedule. NOT ACCEPTABLE. Makes me think we should have just purchased through our local electric store who could have installed the same day of potential purchase.

    Although is the temp accurate as sometimes it’s on all night and only moved up 1 degree.
    Looking forward to seeing if it makes a difference to my bill
    I love that I can control my heating from work and put it on before I get home.
    Insulation was okay although the British Gas engineer wasn’t nice, condemned my boiler. Changed his mind that it was “safe”

    Amazing! Had ours for about 2 years now and recently bought another for a family member. Best purchase ever!! Control heating and hot water from your mobile phone. No more coming home to a cold house! No burst or frozen pipes if your away for a few days. Also connects easily to an Alexa Dot or similar. “Alexa ask Hive to boost the heating for 30 minutes” from my bed or my chair. Laziness overload! Never had an issue. Definitely recommend professional installation which is usually included in the price (double check this). The British Gas engineer installed it all, connected it up and helped me set up my account in the app and navigate it… the manual controls and all the features too.
    100% recommend!

    Bought this on a Black Friday deal. Booking the installation was easy, we had to wait 3 weeks but the engineer turned up on time and was very professional. The kit was installed in less than 90 minutes and everything was left nest and tidy.
    We’re still playing with the features but so far impressed, especially with being able to boost our heating whilst out.

    Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersSo, I didn’t realize that I needed a router for the setup. What happened was, today, I just noticed and started searching for possible options ’cause I only have a huawei pocket wifi and the manual said it should not be connected to an extender. But I tried it anyway. I saw a TP-link extender with an ethernet port, the problem, I didn’t know if it’s a WAN/LAN port. I asked TP Link CS for confirmation and they said it’s LAN and should work, but I was still skeptical and ordered a Wifi Travel Router that has both WAN and LAN ports. For everyone confused as to why I’m doing this, what I wanted to happen was to connect my mobile wifi to an extender/router which can connect to the Hive via an ethernet port, because that’s the only connection it can make. I didn’t have a broadband so my only option was to get that Wifi signal wired. So I got the extender from Argos and I told the engineer that we could try if it connects, because he too haven’t seen it done before, and just fix the boiler first and settle for not being able access hive remotely and wait for the router to arrive. Fortunately, after everything was installed and I tried connecting via the app, IT FREAKIN’ WORKED!!! No need for expensive wireless routers and further cables. I cancelled my router order and can now finally relax and set my thermostat settings on my phone.

    Works with wifi extender that has ethernet port!

I had the package with the installation from British gas and the guy was great, went through everything with me and was super friendly. He even provided me with a free signal booster.     Can’t fault it. Installation by BG was a breeze. We have a conventional boiler so given some of the reviews I was a tad concerned but BG engineer was great as in turned up on time, fully explained everything, chatty and polite. Easily connected to Alexa via app. Definitely reccomend.

    I’ve had a hive for a number of years, recently moved house and bought another.

    I bought from Amazon and tried to arrange installation with British Gas . They have told me it will take 2 months! The first installation being in Feb. So I’ve bought something that i cannot use over the coldest part of the year. Absolutely stupid.

    Love this product! Love being able to set the temperature of the house via Alexa. The boost setting is great aswell meaning we can have the heating on for a set length of time and it turns itself off without us having to do it hence saving money as I’d usually forget! The literal only downside to this product is I’m moving house, and if I want it in the new house I have to buy a new one rather than take it and arrange an engineer visit. So ended up costing a lot of money!

    Came with free installation which was quick, easy and painless to organise and carry out.
    Not sure if it’s saved us money on our energy at all, but it’s certainly made it easier to operate!

    Love this – initially I fell out of love as I had to keep resetting the device. I have had to call support a few Times and they were good On the phone. However it seems to be okay for now. Great for ease of use and geo location. Good money saver if no one in the house.

    This was a replacement for the original hive I’d had installed years ago. I previously only had heating but wanted water as well. I had looked to see if I could do a self install but due to the complex nature of my system I decided to go for the British Gas install. I was sent out the thermostat and arranged the install for a week later using the included code. The electrician came on time and changed everything over easily once he worked out my unusual installation. I did have to ring Hive to sort out the changeover of kit but that was easy. Pleased I have gone for both water and heating. Works brilliantly and works well with my other plugs and lights.

    I was deciding between Nest and Hive and after reading a few reviews went for the latter. I am not keen on AI deciding when to heat my home and would rather have all the controls to myself. The installation that came with the product was easy to arrange and 5 days later an engineer came to activate everything. 30 mins later the combi boiler was connected to the thermostat. Easy controls from the unit as well as the mobile.

    First thing – watch the price on this before buying. It is often featured in promotions which makes it much better value. Arranging installation was easy and a British Gas engineer turned up to do it. Once installed it’s really easy to master especially via the app. It responds well to changes in temperature too.

    Does what it says on the packaging. Good stable app and looks nice and flash on the wall.

    Note – I have an ideal combi boiler and purchased the heating and hot water option, as this was the only one in stock and on an amazing offer. When the British Gas engineer came to fit it, they simply bring with them the hub needed for your boiler, of course by having a combi my options using this is to turn on my heating as my water is on demand.

    It’s safe to say I have fully set up my routine added quick action to turn heating off and have my movie night option.

    If you’d like to make your home a “Smart home” then this is a great first step. And lastly a massive shout out to the engineer, nothing was to much hassle. Took my old thermostat down fitted my new one, even filled in the screen holes so I could get on with the painting.

    Love this product, it easy to see how savings are possible. Able to control from anywhere, gives flexibility (can switch heating on when I convenient e.g. when I’m ordering my last pint, house is lovely and warm when we get home). Equally, often we go out for the day and I’ve forgotten to switch heating off, no issue anymore, just switch off from my phone. PS. We are not young “tec’y” people, we are retired, so it’s certainly not difficult to use.

    Got this as a black Friday deal with installation. Just scratched off label to reveal code and set up a date for installation. The engineer came on time, fitted the thermostat within the hour. He brought a hub with him but I already had a hive 360 and another hub so he did not need the one he brought. This did prove a bit of an issue but that was my error not his. Tell the installer if you have a hub already to make the experience even more efficient. This has solved the age old problem of having to get up from bed to turn down the heating, we just do it from the app or via Alexa.

    Bought with installation for 128 on Black Friday it came with a new free echo dot and I rfceived a 30 compensation from British Gas as the engineer had to return with a blanking plate for the boiler so apart from the slight inconvenience it only really cost about 68.

    I’m very happy with my Hive. The whole process from ordering on Amazon, to installation by British Gas was seamless.

    The British Gas engineer was friendly, helpful and informative. Although we had a slight glitch in that the home hub was faulty, he quickly remedied the situation by phoning a colleague who has a spare one, then got Hive to register the new one to my account immediately.

    We now have Alexa, and can ask her to turn the heating as we would like it, as well as using the Hive app. Very happy and just wish we’d done it sooner.

    Product works as I expected it to (keep my house warm and heat up water). As work away from home and only use heating on set timer I do like the feature to turn on heating for a boost when travelling home or when I know visitors are coming round. The core product acts same as most thermostats but gives you the ability to control when not in your house to proactively heat up before getting back.
    British Gas did face issues, on the day of fitting, replacing over my existing system but came back a few days later to fix properly (even though not a BG customer at no extra cost too). Would recommend for anyone who isn’t in the house for long periods of the day.

    Bought this recently as our old thermostat was rubbish and difficult to use. This has allowed us to control our heating schedules and temperature from our phone. User friendly app and simple platform makes it easy to see exactly when and temperature you are heating your home too.
    Excellent installation from British Gas which was included in the price, date set and the installation took approximately 1hr.
    Really pleased with this product, it’s so intuitive and allows us to control the heating from anywhere.
    Not really sure how much money it will save us, but did get stuck in traffic recently and I was able to turn the heating off from my phone which was scheduled to come on. The old thermostat would have come on and heated an empty house, unnecessarily.
    It also allows us to return to a warm house which has been great during the winter.
    Excellent product, hopefully will pair with some smart plugs in the future.

    Great product, and does what it is meant to. Great freedom with controlling or changing the settings. I would like to see geofencing, so when we leave the hearing automatically turns off. Also, the ‘ready by’ isn’t that great. I know it only comes on a maximum of an hour before the time is set, but it only seems to boost the heating closer to the time, but it still doesn’t reach the temp at the set time. Still a great product.

    Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI wanted a Nest, but the Black Friday deal on this was too good to pass up! Free installation happened within a week, and the engineer was great and really helpful and chatty.

    The system itself is really good. The kids and I can all work it. It’s clear. You can preset times when you want it to come on, and work the heating from a remote location. You can even configure it to switch off as you leave the house.

    There’s a small white box next to my boiler now (which overrides the system if WiFi is down as well) and a hub near the router.

    It works perfectly with Alexa.

    I live in a Victorian house with high ceilings and draughts and I have to leave doors ajar for the cat. My heating bills are very high, but according to the Smart Meter this is already saving me quite a bit of money. I think it will pay for itself over the next year or so, and of course, help the environment at the same time.

    Obviously it’s not as technologically advanced as the Nest but it does what it needs to do for me!

    It also communicates with Philips Hue lights.

    The only thing I’d knock a star off for is the app. Its UI isn’t great and it took a while to figure out what to do. I’m pretty bright but it was counter intuitive in parts.

    The other thing I’d say is that you need to consider where you want the thermostat part before the installer comes out. I decided not to have it fixed but to move it around until I found the right place. It’s worth buying a stand for it if you think this is what you’d like to do.

    Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI wasn’t sure about the product and I thought a lot before purchasing it. And did a lot of research. Everything pointed me in the direction to get one.

    I live in a rented property and that was another issue. I’ve been here 5yrs and there’s no thermostat at all. It’s a case of constantly getting up and down to control the heating and it was either too hot or cold, extremely difficult to be comfortable.

    But, I approached my landlord and explained and they kindly agreed to pay half. As one half is fitted to the boiler and the other is connected to your own phone and register it to yourself.

    We got the option with installation and Amazon had an offer on which was 50 cheaper than purchasing it direct from hive.

    We only had to wait about 7-10days for installation. The British Gas Engineer was lovely and set everything up and gave me a demonstration on how to use it and helped connect it to my phone.

    We’ve had it about a month, just as the cold weather set in. What a phenomenal difference it’s made. My house has been a cosy temperature and no one has complained of being too hot or cold.

    I’ve been very unwell and my mobility has been greatly impacted. So, the feature to control it via my phone has been phenomenal.

    I’ve set it for 20 degrees in the morning until 8.30am whilst everyone gets up and ready. Even though I’m at home throughout the day, I’ve set it to 16 degrees; I’m doing more to keep warm during the day and of course the sun is helping too. I did have it increase to 19 degrees at 4.30pm as the sun goes down and the temperature drops, but I’ve changed it today to 3.30pm as it’s getting darker earlier. And then at 7.30-10pm it’s at 21 degrees, a time when we are all relaxing and moving less. During the night I’ve set it at 10 degrees so the house never gets too cold.

    Of course there’s a lot of times I need to rest during the day and therefore feel the cold more. But, it’s so easy to click on my hive phone app and click boost, which I set at 21 degrees.

    Setting up the app was easy as you set one day, then copy it for the rest of the week. Weekends it comes on in the morning later as no one needs to get up as early for work.

    We’ve all got the app and it connects to the same account. So Hive knows if you’ve all gone out and turns down the heating. Which is a phenomenal feature to save you money.

    It also knows when anyone is coming home and switches the heating back up, so the house is warm when you get home.

    The actual thermostat can be free standing or wall mounted. I’ve decided to use command 3m Velcro strips to attach it to my wall. The instructions tell you the best places to mount it. I wanted the ability to move the thermostat; if I’m out and my daughter is home alone, she can keep it in her bedroom and keep her room at a comfortable temperature for her. Or when I’m better, I work from home, everyone else is out in the day, so I will use it in my home office room to ensure it’s a comfortable temperature for me to work all day.

    The thermostat looks really nice too, it’s a lovely design and you can use the control manually on the unit too for controlling the heating. Unfortunately, the only drawback is the shiny front, it’s easy to leave fingerprints on it. But, it’s actually no big deal as we all use our phone app to control the heating.

    There’s also the feature to control the heating remotely if you’re away. Something we rarely do as I’m always at home. But, it’s another great addition.

    Overall, I’m delighted with it, it’s made a phenomenal difference to my home.

    Time will tell if it reduces my utility bills as it claims. I’m always happy to save money.

    So pleased we’ve got one. It delivers everything it promises!

    I believe you can add additional thermostats to other rooms, but in a 3bed house we’ve managed just fine with one.

    Definitely pleased it was fitted professionally, I wouldn’t have had a clue how to fit it to the boiler. And the whole set up and tutorial from the fitter was extremely helpful too. Saved me time, effort and frustration learning a new gadget. But, it’s great you can purchase it without installation, for those capable of doing it themselves.

Been wanting one ever since other family members got them. The anti freeze (turns your heating on if it gets below a certain temperature) feature is a nice bonus!

    Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersIf you order with installation and you only receive the thermostat, DO NOT PANIC! The hub and receiver should be brought by the engineer when they come to fit it (hopefully!). I thought I had ordered the wrong item but I found a little note on the product page that explains it. I know some people have complained about the delay in getting an engineer appointment but when I booked mine (Nov 2018) the first available slot was 7 days away, which I don’t think is too bad.

    If you want to install this yourself there is plenty of detailed information available, and in most cases it’s a straight swap with minimal wiring, if you can change a light switch or a plug socket, you can do this. Check the wiring in your current programmer/timer, if you have live/neutral, hot water on/off and heating on/off then you are good to go. The Hive uses a standard backplate so you may not even have to do any wiring at all.

    In my case we have a new controller, but with a remote thermostat, which is a little more awkward, but with the current offer professional installation is virtually free, so let them worry about it.

    Golden Review Award: 304 From Our UsersI haven’t had this installed yet – two week wait for an engineer – but this review is to alert people to the out-of-date information included with the unit regarding how to book an installation. Both the phone number and web address provided with mine are inaccurate. If you call the number given you will be told the new number, but I strongly recommend you don’t use it: the automated routing system is the type you have to talk to – and it understands very little! My phone came dangerously close to an encounter with the wall!

    Use the web address given, but replace ‘install’ with ‘shop/instore’ – without the quote marks, of course!

    I expect I shall revise the rating once my unit is up and running but I thought this information might be helpful to prospective buyers.

    EDIT (sometime later!) – I’m very happy with the performance of the Hive system. The thermostat is easy to programme and control, and integration with Alexa is straightforward (unless, like me, you want to be able to set/change the heating or hot water via Smartthings routines.     My only complaint was with the installation engineer who tried to baffle me with science into letting him leave the old thermostat in place (he even said ‘in situ’ in an attempt to intimidate me! Cheeky b***er) He soon discovered he was messing with the wrong woman – and I didn’t even have to deploy my mum death stare

    So…..upgraded to four stars, with the fifth being docked for the poor installation booking instructions and the bare-faced effrontery of the engineer.

    I have this system installed in my flat and I love it.

    My parents are quite elderly and had difficulty programming their old Honeywell system so I bought this for them so I could remotely program the heating and hot water for them from anywhere.

    Very intuitive system and seems to work well so far with no glitches.

    Paid for the version with British Gas installation. Fitter was excellent – spent 90 minutes fitting it – so think about whether it’s worth spending the extra over self-install – it certainly was for me ! Also improved our central heating – now water and heating comes on together whereas previously they were separate.

    Excellent product at a very good price. Great to control thermostat with my phone especially with our changeable weather.
    The British gas engineer was very good and even he wondered how they could sell the items and fitted for the price I got it from pre Easter sale on Amazon. Thank you Amazon and British gas not had it long enough to calculate how much I’m saving but I’m sure I am.

    You can still set a schedule for the hot water and boost it if your on your way home early or something.
    Your phone alerts you if you’ve left the heating on when you’ve gone out (via GPS)
    Whacking up the heating before getting home because it decides to snow that day.

    Works with alexa.

    So many possibilities I highly recommend.

    Plus if you have a friend that has it, ask them for a recommendation code so you both get a free hive bulb which also works on your phone.

    Then buy from amazon (get purchased code) then purchase via a cashback site to get money off too.

    EXCELLENT!! Saving me about 70p a day (UK mid-winter). Now averaging about 3.10 per day (Gas heating/hot water & Electricity) midwinter in 3 bed detached house. Just becoming aware of how much gas/electricity is costing and the ease of scheduling on/off /high/low, adhoc manually overriding it, etc …. just makes it so easy to save money.

    Having only had radiator thermostats before, this has made such a difference to our heating. The British Gas installation engineer was excellent and did a really neat job of installing the controller close to the boiler. We bought the hive stand so that we could move the thermostat around the house which really works for us. Even my wife who is very wary of new gadgets loves Hive and the associated iPhone app for controlling it. We should have bought one of these years ago.

Works instantly either with Alexa or app, can always see the temp in your house, so if your out and thinking of putting heating on can check to see how warm it is first.     I have a fairly old boiler system and was worried about compatibility and reliability of a smart thermostat. Honestly – don’t delay. They are great, but make sure to buy one that includes engineer fitting unless you are 100% sure you don’t need it. I’m handy with a screwdriver andtechnology, but I would have had no chance of fitting this unit myself. The engineer who fitted was thorough and helpfully explained everything I needed to know. It has worked fantastically since day 1. I also got this nearly half price in the Black Friday sale. Yeeha!

    Bought end of November. Due to high demand where we live it’s now been installed today, 19/1. So far so good. It was definitely worth paying the bit extra to have it installed by the British Gas engineer because it took him over an hour to do. The app compliments the unit so now we’ll be in complete control of when we choose to put everything on.

    Have been using the product now for over a month. There were a few installation issues with British Gas (it took 3 attempts as I had an unusual set up) but once it was in place and up and running it has proven very useful and flexible. Have even managed to link with Alexa Echo Dot! It is more complicated than a standard thermostat and switch but the benefits of remote control and highly flexible scheduling are worth it.
    The only problem has been with the hub which did not automatically reconnect after a power interruption but that only really affected remote access – the schedule carried on as usual.

    Golden Review Award: 190 From Our UsersGreat product, replaced a very old 80’s slide timer/ clock on our boiler (gravity fed system, with storage tank). I liked this look of this one over the Nest versions. Very easy to setup schedules on the website (and android app too). The website shows heating trends over time too, so can monitor temp levels which is interesting, especially as we are trying to improve things in the house.
    We probably use the app and alexa controls (via the hive skill) more than the unit which is the wall thermo. The total package is the wall thermo, a controller for the boiler and a hub for linking them all to your router. The sizes are roughly about the same as the wall unit. The hub will allow it to be extended to other hive things, like the lights.
    We got the version with BG installation. You can pick the times from the calendar on website, and a friendly chap turns up to install it all and show you how it works. Took him about 4 hours to do. Please check that the device will work with your setup as best you can.

    System works well, had installed over a year now, and have cut my gas usage by over two thirds. I work constantly changing shifts so setting schedules is impossible. I can turn on my heating from work just before I set off home, so house is warm when I get back never waste money heating empty home.

    The control unit arrived within a couple of days. Scratch off card for code (why?) to arrange British Gas to fit was inside packaging. Fitted ten days later, took Just over an hour. As it runs off 4 AA batteries (supplied), you can site this wherever you want, as long as it’s in effective communication range of the HIVE unit/router.

    Works fine with Alexa (“Alexa set temperature to 20”) and you can create time on/off and temperature settings in the app very easily. Not sure how it can save you a huge amount of money (compared to a standard timed thermostat), but may be worth considering if, like me, your old thermostat was coming to the end of its useful life.

    Ok a couple of months on – installed and I’m abit in love with it – it works really well, looks fab so I’ve upgraded to four stars – I got mine for 160.00 installed which in hindsight was a good deal.

    I have a Worcester Bosch Greenstar Sri 30 and was quite concerned about compatibility, but no problems! My existing thermostat was a WB RF controlling the built-in programmer (awkward to change). The WB thermostat was very approximate +/- 1C always having to readjust it. The Hive is accurate to 0.2C very sensitive and required us to have faith in the displayed temperature. Very impressed with the programme options, have now been able to set time periods and temperatures to suit our daily routine. Ability to manage via website is great making our readjustment of the programme so easy. BG installation easy to organise and efficient.

    I had the Hive Home 1. This product is so much better in the Hall both in look, features and operation. Athough not stated anywhere and after extensive research of which turned up nothing I bit the bullet and bought this in attempt to upgrade my Hive 1 and it worked. So fit those of you who have fully functioning Hive 1 just buy this to upgrade to Hive 2 then upgrading is simple from your phone app. Hope this helps!

Does an excellent job of setting the water and heating on/off times and temperatures, both of which can be changed via an app on your phone or tablet. The thermostat is powered by four AA batteries which last years, this means that their are no wires leading to it unlike the NEST system which is mains powered. It also means that you can have the thermostat wherever it is best suited for your house.

    I bought this from the warehouse which made it a lot cheaper. It arrived as an open box with the installation code scratched off. This wasn’t a problem as British gas accepted the code as it hasn’t been installed elsewhere previously.

    Now the product….after having it for a short time I’m very pleased with it. I can see myself saving money as I don’t seem to have it on half as much as I did previously. I can recommend buying this

    This is the only Hive piece worth having – it should really save money over time – though I see now the price has gone up fifty quid in less than a month. The bugbear, though, was I ordered in early January and was then delivered the control box without the hub – British Gas didn’t install until over a month later!!!! I had the heating kit and a whole load of light bulbs that I couldn’t set up and use as the engineer brings the hub with him – dur brained it must be said. It also meant that by the time I had the install done and could play with the bulbs my Amazon return date had passed – which I didn’t think was fair either.

Would have been a real bonus if you could also control individual radiator thermostats but unfortunately you can’t (I was aware of this when I ordered) Quick installation by British Gas engineer. App on the iphone is a bit tempremental but that could be an issue with my phone rather than the Hive system.

    superb kit. I now us my phone to control my heating. I have bought 2 plug sockets and control them via my phone. The socket behind the TV is ideal, and we turn it off every night or when and when we go to work via the schedule.

    I now control this via Amazon Echo, and it’s really easy to do.

    Buy hive, you won’t be disappointed.

    Works a treat and easy to install. (once I solved the existing thermostat problem)

    Literally takes 5-10 minutes to install the only problem I had was when I removed my existing thermostat, the heating wouldn’t come on. I discovered this was down to a missing connection the boiler needed which was no longer there as the thermostat no longer clicked on or off. A simple terminal block reconnecting the relavant wires and it works perfect. Now I can stop the wife messing with the heating.

    Great product easy to install and use. Looks good too.. portable stat means you can set your temp for the room your in which is handy for me as my house is a lot warmer upstairs than down!
    Setup of schedule etc is easy and a handy boost button too.. only been using it for 3 weeks but feel far more in control of my heating and hoping to see the bills fall!

    Amazing device.

    I had a timer that would only allow me to switch on the heat twice a day. No day planners or additional timers.

    This has totally replaced that, has given me the freedom to pick as many time slots as I like and treat each day differently.

    Installation was painless, the engineer came and installed with ease and left me with the advice to set up.

    The app on the phone is really good and so is the website you can also use.

    Highly recommended!

    Very pleased with the Hive system, after 2 weeks use. No problem arranging installation via British Gas (took about 10 days). System is easy to use, far simpler than the old style Honeywell type box on the wall. Not too sure about the “Holiday mode” – seems better just to amend the settings for the days you’re away. A great way to control heating & hot water and should save money I think. Strongly recommended.

    Easy to install if you are comfortable with mains multizone boiler wiring. If the phrases “motorised valve” and “boiler interlock” are foreign to you, you might need to get a qualified installer, or at least google the terms and see if it all makes sense to you.

    Adding the new zone to my existing account was straightforward using the mobile app. Have been using 2 zones plus hot water for a few weeks now without any issues. It all just works.

    Packaging and instructions are very good. Overall no complaints, though would have liked if it were a little less expensive 🙂

    The only buyer beware is, if you have a multi zone heating system (upstairs and downstairs, for example) you will need a second unit which is an extra 100

Booked appointment online, but had to wait about a month for the installation (ordered on Black Friday, and Engineer reported extremely busy with installations as a result of sure in orders!)

    Control easy to use, very flexible programming options, and of course the ability to set temperatures remotely. App has worked very reliably and quickly when out and about, and website simple design and easy too.

    Big improvement on my older timer it feels like my heating system has reached the 21st century. Arranging for the installation was painless and carried out professionally with no issues or complaints. Only slight downside is that the heating temperature tends to overshoot by half a degree to a degree probably due to the time it takes for the radiators to cool down so the temp needs to be set a little lower than required but then the house feels a little cooler before the heating turns on agai

    I am made up with this purchase. If you’re looking for a simple solution to control your heating so you keep warm when you need to, while being really simple to operate, and with the added option of setting things remotely with an app on your smartphone – look no further.

    The timer on my boiler broke, and the replacement including parts and labour would have cost me about 20 short of what I paid for this system, so it really was a no-brainer for me.

    The thermostat looks good, and is really, really simple to operate. The units that needs fitting by your boiler and by your broadband modem are small and unobtrusive. Fitting takes just over an hour, and can be ordered in 4hr time slots to suit your schedule. It is all really simple and straight forward.

    I have had mine installed for 10 days now – I know it works very well though I have yet to explore the details – and I am confident it will save me money on my heating bill. Highly recommended.

    Product arrived in rapid time, fitted by a British Gas engineer and seemed fine, but found that I could not light the boiler using the central heating option, but it would light using the hot water option. After a prolonged ‘phone call to the Hive help centre (1 hour 34 mins), it was decided that the hot water and central heating system times should be identical to get the system operating. Another BG engineer arrived to rectify the fault, and he was concerned that a Honeywell 3 port electrical switch was at fault and that was not helping. So I purchased another Honeywell switch (79 .98), had it fitted but problem still not solved.Away over the ‘festive season’ so will have to resume the search for an answere

You can turn the thermostat up or down on a programme if the house is too warm or too cold without affecting the schedule. The holiday function is great. We turn off the heating if we are going out for the day then turn it back on remotely. A fabulous function that saves heating the house when no one is in without affecting the schedule.

    Dead simple to install… provided, of course, the old thermostat system connection arrangement is the same (download their installation booklet to check this out). Took me about twenty minutes to change from my old system to the new one. Worked properly immediately, and so much easier to use than my old system (Danfoss).     I love Hive 2! I work shifts and commute too so can’t always be sure I’ll be home at the same time every day but being able to adjust the time my heating comes on whilst I’m at work/on the train/out and about is fantastic! The app is simple to use and I love the boost button on the box itself too. Would really recommend Hive! I know they’re also going to be releasing some other items to use with your Hive too so I look forward to seeing those too.
