Just brillia
Decided to treat myself to a nice retractable garden hose. Wasn’t disappointed this Hozelock 30 miter hose is just so easy to use compared to a wind up reel. Only regret is not buying one earlier.

Smart looking functional hose reel, does the job competently
I bought this to replace an old hoselock hose reel I’d had for many years, and which lived outside in all weathers, and gave me excellent service.
This new one is very similar and easy to fit. I knew what to do, but there is an excellent set of photos showing the steps to install in great detail. This will help even the least confident purchaser to install the reel.
I fixed mine to a short teak post concreted into the ground, instead of directly to the rendered wall of my house. This works very well.
I’m very happy with the new one and I’m pleased to say that it works smoothly and auto locks and with a pull of six inches or more will unlock and rewind the hose.
Time will tell how well this one will last, but it certainly looks and feels sturdy and well made.
Sturdy and well made
I chose this brand for quality and sturdyness. Having read the reviews I notice a couple of people had complained about the retraction mechanism. After a couple of days I noticed the same problem. It would retract but not fully leaving a few meters unwound. I spend 20 mins trying to sort the problem before giving up. I contacted Amazon and arranged a refund. I released the pressure in the hose ready to dismantle and the retraction mechanism kicked in and wound the rest of hose. I discovered there is nothing wrong with the mechanism as long as I turn the tap off and open the spray nozzle before activating the retraction mechanism. Needless to say I cancelled my refund and gave not had a problem since. It would have been 5 stars but I feel there is room for improvement for Hozelock to better communicate this to their customers.
Easy to use
Having wrestled with lengths of hosepipe, some of which is too stiff to coil easily, I decided to get one of these Hoselock reels.
The wall mount was relatively easy to put up. It is held in place by four screws, supplied with rawlplugs. However, the screws have shallow easily damaged cross-head slots and I threw them away and got some better ones from the shed. The reel fits on to the mount by lowering over the upper spline; it is quite heavy though, so we probably won’t take it off for the foreseeable future. Of course, the reel could be detached and stolen although there is a padlock hole at the bottom. The trouble with that is that the lock isn’t going to stop someone just cutting through the plastic surrounding it.
The hoses, i.e. the main one and the short one between the reel and the tap, need to have the connectors put on and one should tighten them well. There’s also a tap adapter. Sadly, although the connectors are better than average, there’s still a little leak from one of the them and no one seems to have ever cured the garden hosepipe leakage problem.
The inertia reel enables the hose to be retracted easily and the moving guider at the slot ensures an even distribution of hose on the reel. As someone else has said, turn off at the tap and leave the hose nozzle open to release water pressure when retracting the hose, otherwise it is too stiff. Pulling the hose out is easy and a lock selector on the side of the reel box ensures that the hose doesn’t snap back. Release the lock when reeling up, of course.
The hose nozzle gives various widths of spray but is fairly ordinary I suppose. Although there is a 40m version of this Hozelock auto reel, we decided on the 30m one due to weight and pricing structure. The 40m hose is 25% longer but the price is more than 25% more.
Easy to use
Should have bought this sooner ! Very easy to pull out but occasionally i struggle to put it back. Think you need to be a bit more delicate & not pull quite so hard. Larger than i thought but super happy with it. Tidy & out the way.
Easy to install.
Tidied up the limited space where hose was coiled up. Installation was easy enough but have troubles at ease of rewinding. Not sure if it is because it is new but have had to pull the entire house out several times just to get it to rewind smoothly. Time will tell if this rectifies itself.
This Hosepipe is great, works as expected and is a decent length for a sizeable gardens.
If you have issue with the hosepipe retracting it will be because you left water mains pressure in the hose. Turn off the tap and than plug an attachment into the end of the hose to release the pressure. As soon as you do this each time you won’t have any issues. Retracting the hose with mains pressure in the hose it does cause issues retracting the last few metres as the pipe is more swollen.
Bees Knees
Although it may seem a bit pricey at first, once installed it makes using and putting away a doddle.I wish I had bought one years ago. You do need a decent drill to drill the mounting holes if you are installing it onto a sold wall, but the rawlplugs and screws are well suitable and hold it securely, then it’s just a case of connecting up the hoses and away you go. Not only is it easy to use, but the hose quality is far superior to the cheap horrible green stuff that I had previously.

Why did I not buy this earlie
This is the business. Finally decided to get a decent wall mounted hose. Doesn’t tangle, I love the gliding back into the holder & very sturdy wall mounting. Recommend getting the hose gun as that makes using the hose easier.

Very pleased with this hose. It is a little heavy for me to extend, but then I am in the twilight years. The hose doesn’t fully retract if I forget to turn the tap off and operate the hose to release the pressure. Absolutely perfect piece of kit.

Eliminates the pain of a hosepipe
For years I’ve had a long hosepipe on a ground stand, which was a pain to wind up. The Auto Reel makes life easy. Although the pictorial installation instructions looked formidable, in practice it was just a case of screwing the bracket to the wall with the 4 screws provided, and installing the short hose used to connect to the tap. With wooden cladding I was worried that wall mounting would be risky, but the screws support the weight very well. In use the tension on the wind mechanism is probably stronger than ideal, but then it rewinds with ease.
Worth The Extra Cost (By A LONG shot!)
Let’s be honest. If you water a lot you will be unwinding your hosepipe multiple times day after day, year after year.
This Hoselock 30 metre auto reel hosepipe attaches to a wall and really does make life easier. I have mine set at shoulder height. This way I can grab the end of the hose and walk up the garden with it for watering. The hosepipe will lock into whatever position you want.
When I am finished I give the hosepipe a tug, and then the auto reel mechanism starts to wind the hosepipe back into it’s place.
No more creases, no more kinks, and definitely no more hand winding!
I have started out with budget pipes over the years, then progressed into Hoselock and have upgraded from single hosepipes, to windable hosepipes, and now finally this, the king of their range. The auto reel.
So far I have used this a few dozen times. It simply works.
I have zero issues.
Assembly and wall mounting was very easy, even for me who isn’t the best at diy! I just aligned the bracket on the wall and used a spirit level placed on the top to get it level. Then I used a marker to mark the holes, and drilled to the right depth.
Overall in conclusion, it is what it is. A hosepipe.
Hoselock have earned a good name mainly and this product will definitely make your life easier.
Sure it’s a little extra money on the initial outlay but I can wholeheartedly say it is worth it.

Hoses are brillia
Great to get 20 m hose and 30m hose to cover full garden from both sides. Hose retracts back easily which saves A great deal of time but don’t rush it. Smoother the better retraction.
Made our lives so much easier and have put on walls either side of house at shoulder height. Would fully recommend.

This is a very good hose and hose reel set and after putting off getting it for years I finally thought sod it and bought it. Another one of those things where you wish you had bought it years ago and saved all the messing around with loose hose pipes. It’s not cheap but then again nothing is cheap these days. Great hose reel, rewinds perfectly
We got two of these, one front, one back, and they are really good hose reels but could do with some kind of buffer between the reel and the wall.
Takes the couldn't be bothered out of using the hosepipe
Really pleased with this everything has become so much easier. I figure that if I don’t yank it and just take care pulling it out and putting it back then this will be a great purchase. No more tangled up hose or kinked hose. Swivel reel great for getting around back and front of house. No more neglecting to water the garden because I couldn’t be bothered doing battle with the hose. Car is cleaner too.

Easy to assemble. Heavy so if wall mounted id use alternative fixings to the wall.
Great swivel turns left and right when you do. Water comes out the end when you pull the trigger. Keeps the cats out!
Sturdy uni
Replacement unit for a standalone trolley type hose. easy to put on wall if you have even a little DIY experience. There is a template on the box which helps drill correct holes. I never use OEM wall plugs, i find store bought ones better quality but supplied plugs seem fine in this case.
One bracket is fixed to wall, remaining set up is simple. Hose is high quality and kink free unless tightly twisted. Spring loaded hose is tight to pull out of unit but rewinds with ease and rolls back completely each time.
Bought approx 2 months ago and no complaints.
Hozelock 2403
I wish I’d bought this years ago, my 30m hose runs from the back of the house to the front where the cars are washed and garden watered. Life is so much easier having it recoil itself automatically rather than having to wind it manually onto a wall mounted spool.
For anyone that requires a hose of this length, this unit is a must. It also looks a lot neater mounted on the wall.
Works well
Works as you’d expect. Not sure how long the casing is going to last as seems a bit flimsy. Hose is quite hard to pull out especially if you’re taking most of it out. Auto rewind is quite good but sometimes it sticks half way and you need to take hose out again. Overall quite expensive for what it is but I still like i
Simply the best.
Two screws to fit back plate, then lift on main body and lock in pin.once in place main reel can move in any direction when you pull out hose. The hose locks in place and when you want to retract hose just give it a pull to release and follow it back to the main housing. Very easy to install and use. Hozelock design is brilliant and they offer a great accessory range to complement this reel system. Make sure you measure out distance you need to cover before buying reel.
Still have to pull to get the hose out, but when you want to put it back it you just give it a little pull and it auto goes back in itself fabulous, my only gripe is the end bit scratches really easy their is a little ball at the end of the hose has deep scratches so just hold onto the end of the hose so it doesn’t get dragged along, I only have paving so no stones so be careful.
A bit disappointed and annoyed
You need two people to install this. And I am annoyed that it leaks from the connector to the hose reel, and the nozzle is a bad fit and shoots of the hose. This is the whole reason why I bought hoze lock in the first place, I expected more from this company
The hose real is easy to install to the wall and it comes with all connections to attach to wall and water supply. However the retraction facility does not always work well. I currently have 3 meters of hose left out of the real because it refuses to retract all the way. This is disappointing from the market leader
Edit: I have noticed that is the water pressure is released from the hose then it will retract fully
Works OK, but is not interchangeable with Gardena products
The product itself is OK. But Hozelock seem to use a narrower hose than my Gardena hose I had been using, with Gardena sprinkler and hand spray nozzle. The result being that when I hook up the sprinkler to the Hozelock hose it produces only about 50% of the water pressure / reach. And the same for the Hozelock hose with Hozelock hand spray nozzle versus Gardena hose and Gardena hand spray nozzle.
Does not retract completely
Generally it does what is says on the box, with the exception of the retraction. The last 3 meters or so has to be tried several times to get it to retract completely.

onto the wall easy enough and works great but as it is 30 meters i found a drop in water pressure which is expected but still does not stop the item from working great… recommended!

Had the older version for the last 20yrs still worked but sun faded and becoming leaky and brittle. If this is as good quality then it’s really worth the money, tried cheaper hoses but they weren’t as resistant to twisting unlike hose lock. Defo recommend
