This is a really good camera and easy to install and setup. Really good quality video and images. The app “CamHipro” very easy to use and setup.
The Camera sensitivity is way better than I thought it would be. The spot light at night is really useful. night vision video is impressive.
I got this one for the front (driveway).
I already set up an ieGeek IE20 camera for the back garden, this one is IE50.
Got great assistance from Sally in Ie geek customer service when needed. I will be purchasing this brand again.
I like the usability and picture quality of this camera. And for 50 I’m very pleased.
The cameras are excellent quality and build and are easy to install, competitively priced to similar cameras on the market, would recommend these products
This camera was a little bigger than I expected and the instructions not terribly clear, also be aware it needs to be connected to a power source, but it’s a well made product, seems to operate well ( haven’t had it very long ) it wasn’t too difficult to connect it to my internet and the App gives overall control of the camera, also shows a nice clear picture, I think it’ll do the job it’s intended for very well, all in all a good product.
I installed two cameras in my house
Easy to install
Picture Quality is Good day night both
Voice Quality is fine
Tracking system is fine
With my initial in house test human motion detection can be improved but will revisey review once I install them outdoors and works better there.
Happy to replace faulty product – great customer service, very helpful, quick and efficient.
Good picture quality nice in colour, night bison in black and white picture is ok, the leads on camera are a bit short. Overall good camera would definitely get another.
Bought this this to replace my superb iegeek 1080p bullet WiFi camera, which has been ultra reliable. As I had an incident where someone tried to tamper with my car, and as I couldn’t see enough detail in the infrared B&W picture I wanted to upgrade to a colour night security camera with a sensor light. It all worked great, the motion sensor, the light, it’s just that I needed a higher quality image and as igeek don’t do 4k cameras I had to send it back for a refund, which was no problem at all and was hassle free to do and I got my money back almost instantly after I had put the camera into the post. I would not hesitate to buy off this company again when igeek starts selling 4k security cameras, as the software is more superior than other makes…
I bought this camera a few days ago, and had no problem linking it to my Wi-Fi and connecting it to my pc, IPad and phone. Good clear picture. I intend for it to be used outside but due to the adverse British weather have been unable to do this at the minute, but everything is ready to do so, therefore I can’t comment on its waterproofing and out door use. But overall it seems a good camera for the price.
This camera was really easy and quick to install, set up and start using. The picture is very clear. The app is easy to use and navigate.
I use the camera for general outdoor sercurity work very well good hd video and motion tracking.
Had a slight problem iegeek solved this for me via a few emails good product/ customer care.
Works better than the previous vertion the intelligent human detection is good at stopping false recordings
Reasonable price camera couldn’t set it on wi-fi works ok connected to the router picture and colour is good sound is fine haven’t put it on the wall yet until I have sorted the WiFi connection but in all looks good works well don’t think it will disappoi
Very easy to set up and cheap. The fact you can move the camera remotely is really good. Allows me to keep watch on my home when I am away
Had a fault develop within the first 7 months, contacted the supplier and they were very good in sending out a replacement no problems.
Very pleased with the service.
Excellent security camera for the price, I choose the iegeek and specific camera as it has tracking when motion is detected, also setup is very very easy, very happy with this purchase, also they give you on the box to extend the warranty for 1 year free of charge. Very welldone ieGeek for making such awesome Securities Camera with very affordable prices.
This is a good camera for our purpose to overview street parking. We had fixed cameras previously which meant we had to try a park in the same spot each time, which, if you are familiar with street parking you will know this is fairly impossible. This is great because it can be moved accordingly. The day picture quality is brilliant and the night vision is good. Also it is good to have sound. All in all a good buy
Human motion detection is excellent and now the alarm does not go off every time a tree branch moves but only when it detects a human.
Had the camera for for 6 months and it has been spot on. Last weekend it developed a fault, I contacted IEgeek and honestly can’t believe how good the customer service is. I would have no hesitation purchasing from them again. Thanks iegeek
Great camera at a good price. Was very pleased with the camera, then we had a problem with the camera when using the SD card, so contacted ieGeek for advice, they sent us a free camera which arrived within 2 days. All working fine again now, very pleased. The customer service from ieGeek is very good and the agent was very helpful and kept in touch daily until the issue was resolved. The issue with the camera has not put me off buying again from ieGeek as the customer service is excellent.
Unfortunately this product didn’t suit my our needs however it was set up and tested & I would recommend
Easy to fit, Works well enough, decent clarity on picture, motion detection not so good ..but hey, for the price, its worth that little issue
If you are looking for a good security camera, look no further. This has lots of options you can use on it, record videos, track motion, it even follows my dog down the garden. Good night vision and has an inter com so you can speak to someone outside, many auto set positions and best of all you can operate it with your smart phone from anywhere. I am very happy with it. ( I placed mine on the rear corner of our house so I can monitor the back and then rotate it to look up the side of the house to the front gate.
I am very please with this product. User friendly mobile application and easy access.motion detection and human detection are awesome. Very affordable price too. Highly recommended produc
mama mia whata gooda gismo isa this nisa picture nisa detecter follow me all around de room this a gooda value
Pointless product. The 2 way talk doesn’t work at all. I went through the customer support and they blamed my Internet. However, when someone rings, I can barely hear them. But when I mute my mic, their volume becomes perfect, but of course they can’t hear me as I’m muted. This is on Android. There is also a noticeable and annoying lag between video and audio. The problems aren’t there on iOS, which seems to be a software issue, not my internet! I am tempted to put this in the bin as the seller also refused to refund me! Don’t waste your money on this rubbish, don’t believe the high rating, it isn’t worth your money! 2* instead of 1* just because they did try and help, but didn’t in the end!
Edit: after leaving this review, seller refunded me so I’ve changed to 4*.
Using this camera externally for monitoring the driveway. Easy to setup, though same old issue trying to connect a bulky transformer plug externally. (Used a large waterproof junction box in the end).
Wifi reception/range seems OK.
Motion detection works, but again, usual problem with a slight delay in the recording starting, and footage sometimes missing the reason for triggering. Also sometimes triggering on shadows from the trees, but again I think this is a common problem/challenge.
Recording to SD card seems to work very well, not tried the cloud service.
Overall a good camera for the price, and very happy so far.
Cameras are good decent picture quality the only down side is the app needs updating
I was very excited when get this product because I always wanted a good camera to watch my exterior of the house I do live that is placed on the ground floor that makes me fearing of having unwanted visitors on my premisses.
So after of two weeks of usage this fantastic camera I can summarise my experiences in this review.
Ergonomic design and body
———————————-
Look of the cam was a little bit frightening me at first look but later on I realised that the compact and robust assembly is more durable than I thought at very first time. There are no unnecessary parts, every shape and form serve the functionality. I like that and i can’t write anything negative about the camera’s body and housing of it.
Installation and first usage
——————————-
At the first installation I had no difficulties, everything is well described in the manual and the product worked as expected, didn’t cause any surprise during the network config.
First usage and camera (app) configuration
————————————————–
Configuring the camera in the mobile app was so easy and made me feeling excited.
Pros:
– user interface is user-friendly, clean and easy to navigate within
– clearly understandable options to change the camera position and areas of movement detection were easy to setup.
Picture and video
——————————-
The recorded videos and images are all have amazing quality. Even during night time the recorded pictures and videos have good quality that is a huge advantage of this camera. I tested the camera in several light conditions but image quality never get worse or over-exposured.
I really recommend this camera to everyone, it has a fantastic price-value balance.
At a glance
————-
Pros:
– Outstanding image and video quality
– Easy to install
– Strong ergonomic design and housing
Cons:
– I’ve got confused during the PC software setup when selected the auto installation method. There is no frontend option to change the camera password after connecting to it. I could change it only on the device management panel and there is no option to enter the camera password when the camera already set up in the mobile app.
I really love this camera!
Have this one for two months already and I am using it with a blue iris setup, camera is very stable even on wifi, no loss of signal experienced with this one, picture quality is fine but this is not a wide view camera and looks more as a square aspect, good materials.
Bad points.
Audio is terrible, there is so much distortion that audio becomes annoying.
Even if it’s been set on 30fps is not able to stream more than 15fps.
Tightening system could have been different so you won’t be using that tool as it’s quite uncomfortable depending on installation location.
Microphone exposed to the wind through it’s design and lack of filter.
As a regular buyer of ieGeek cameras, I am always keen on seeing what the latest models have to offer. Out of the box, this camera is a bit bigger than I had expected. However, the quality is very very good, and comes packed with plenty of features. I especially like the quality of the night vision, and the movement of this camera is a feature that I was also looking forward to – it didn’t let me down.
Overall another excellent camera from ieGeek.
Hi,
No idead if anyone had this problem. I noticed that when I go to work and wear hivist at night, there is no chance you would see people face. Just wondering if it is because of setting ?
You need to note while the horizontal pan is nearly 360 the field of vision is much narrower. Activity at the edge of the ‘parked’ position will not trigger tracking or alarm unless the activity crosses the FoV.
The cameras are big 15cm+.
Got a lot more than I expected with this camera . 5 stars and would highly recommend to anyone . Strong 2.4 mhz signal gives no issues on playback
setting up was a pain as im not that techy but we managed in the end, install was simple as it was fitted in our unit covering parked vehicles, a power supply and stuffing the other un needed cables into a service box and we logged onto a tablet.. picture was sharp & clear, love the tracking feature…
Full HD camera that pans up, down, left and right 360′.
Instruction manual with good sized text and diagrams.
Straightforward to setup, just download the Cloudware app and connect over wifi.
Cannot access the camera from a desktop only from the app on a phone, app is satisfactory.
I set it up for continious recording onto an sd card, the app collates motion detection alerts so do not need to watch the whole footage just go to the alerts history.
To transfer footage from the camera to phone need to go to the timeline and hit record on your phone then it records the footage to the phone.
Night footage is good.
The camera casing is plastic and is mains powered.
The app could do with some extra functionality i.e. such as adjust the brightness or the frame rate, overall this Pan camera is good for the price.
I bought this camera so that I could work in the office but keep a lookout for any customers arriving at an outdoor retail area. I followed a previous reviewer’s installation instructions, and I have the camera linked to my phone, iPad, and desktop. It is a godsend! It has also proven very handy at night, I can check that the gate is closed and I would be able to see if there is anybody outside.
Product looked very good but, it’s not what I was looking for.
Good quality picture but when playing back videos it seems to be laggy for example, a car that drives by its records or driving by but it jumps a few seconds.
The wireless features are hopeless as it takes forever to connect to the camera and takes its time to play video backs and more annoying it sometimes fail to playback. Pointless if you are out and get a Notification but can’t view your camera live.
Overall it’s an average camera system dose the job you need to for a budget.
I have several ieGeek cameras set up at work for security. Having moved into the building next door we needed a new camera and decided to try this one. Have to say I love it.
In my case installation was straight forward. I’m drawing power from another camera supply nearby so as not to have to run a separate power line.
Wifi range seems to be quite long so had no problem setting it up for wifi.
Adding the camera to the CamHi app was simple as it found it straight away on the network.
Some reviews have commented on the large size of the camera. It is quite bulky, and being white is very noticable, but I like that. I want people to know they are being watched as I think that in itself is a deterrent.
Picture-wise this is the sharpest quality of all my iegeek cameras. Both day and night vision (see the pics) are crisp.
The ability to control the rotation and zoom from the app is really cool. Movement is smooth and the picture doesn’t jerk like some cameras.
I absolutely love the ability to track humans. Once the setting has been set on the app it will detect humans and track them to the full extent of the rotation range.
I would definitely recommend this camera.
Overall I am very pleased with this camera. The only niggle I have is that I use IP Camera Viewer 4.1 on my pc to monitor my existing cameras all on one screen. I just cannot get this camera to work with this software even though the others already set up are iegeek. It sees the camera on the network but just refuses to connect. I’m trying to get support from iegeek so hopefully will get this resolved.
I love everything about this camera does what it says it’s brilliant the best 1 I’ve ever bought and for the money it’s fantastic I would definitely buy another. The night vision is good zooming in and when it moves around it’s not too slow it’s perfect, also when it’s foggy if you put the infer red on you still can see I love it.
I really like this camera. It is easy to be connect to the current WiFi network and works absolutely fine with my other three ieGeek camera. The image and video quality is superior. The Humanoid alarm mode is easy to active and help to minimise the unnecessary alarm and it is easy to deactivate as well. The rotated function can maximise the area to be covered. The night dual colour vision mode can used as a deterrent as the bright LED light can be triggered on while motion is detected. In all, I really like this camera and highly recommend.
Aslo, I would like to have a all black colour version which could be more easy to be hidden for the purpose of security.
Automatic tracking of people in set area. Great! We love the night mode and two way voice. This isn’t the first IE geek product we have bought, brilliant products.
Good quality images with HD quality and in colour if preferred and selected.
Good quality images with night vision also
Auto tracking feature means will track people etc as they move around .
Can be switched off if required.
Lots if other good features,I would recommend this security camera to all my friends and family.
I got this CCTV instead of having two at different ends of the garden. This one I can put in the middle and move it so it covers both ends. It records 24/7 via an SD card. Amazing picture quality. And records sound too. Everything is watchable on the app Good purchase.
High quality camera with auto tracking and 2 way voice.
You have the option for human only detection witch is very good if you live on a busy road with high traffic.
Camera records 24/7 on SD card and you can view all your videos.
One of the best options is the camera has almost 360Pan and follow any moving objects.
2 way voice allows you to talk to people outside when not at home.
Night vision is crisp. You can choose colour and black and white.
Camera is waterproof and WiFi connection is strong.
We bought this camera for home security, but realised it is great for wildlife tracking in the garden too.
We have positioned it low (see photos) and it catches foxes and cats coming to our garden.
The camera is a step up from the static ones. It has motion detection, but also has a clever “human form” detection which means it can be set up to just react to people not trees moving etc Even cleverer it can automatically track people as they walk through (moving left and right, up and down).
The night vision has several modes, including normal IR, and one that switches on a bright LED light… all these things can be adjusted using the free phone App.
The App lets you watch the camera live, look back at recorded video (it records 24-7 on a loop if you want on an internal SD card), tilt and pan the camera and zoom into the image. You can also use the two way speaker to listen to sounds by the camera, and even speak to people outside (like a security doorbell).
It’s pretty simple to set up, so it is part of your home wifi network… this means it can automatically email you alerts (when it detects motion) including emailing a still image, and you can watch/operate the camera from anywhere you can get an internet connection.
Summery – home security for a very small investment. Good quality and works well… and the bonus of being able to watch wildlife too.
Make no mistake, this is a substantial camera at a very good price point. This is my 5th ieGeek camera and is probably best of the lot, the picture quality is excellent, especially for the winter dark nights and mornings (there are various settings).
It is mains powered so needs to be near a power supply (another metre of cable would be useful) and it is WiFi enabled and it has a good range with the double antennas.
I have a large drive and front garden so the auto tracking is a great addition.
Just like my other ieGeek cameras it was very easy to install (the instructions are very clear) and rapidly connects to wifi.
It seems to be solidly built, robust and hopefully waterproof.
Another advantage is that it is not set off by spiders and insects.
I always use the 128gb card in my cameras to give extra capacity.
My other cameras are black and this one is white so therefore more conspicuous but maybe that’s an advantage.
Screws, screwdriver and ethernet cable are all in the box although the supplied screws really aren’t long enough – I used my own.
I thoroughly recommend this camera.
I have 7 igeek security cameras some of which I have had for around 2 years and they have been good cameras proving to be reliable although the motion detection is a bit sensitive even after adjustment so I am basing this review on previous experience.
Good points- The camera is very easy to set up, I always use an ethernet cable rather than WiFi so I can’t comment on the WiFi but the hard wire method is good. The night vision is in colour and appears very good quality, certainly better than my other cameras (although they are fine). The coverage is brilliant, the camera can be rotated in all directions to view different areas, once set up I’m not sure how much I will use this feature but it is impressive.
Areas for improvement- The camera is bigger than I expected, probably because I have other styles and I was not expecting it to be quite as big. It is also a little more limited on how it can be mounted, it was fine for my application but my other cameras can mount on vertical or horizontal surfaces, this can only mount vertical.
Overall a good camera and recommended, I have not had it long so can’t comment on how reliable it will be over time but my other igeek cameras are fine so hopefully this will also be fine.
I installed this camera as it covers the front of the house and swivels to show the side pathway too. Movement is smooth and reliable and as you can see from the pictures the clarity is good too. What surprised me was the movement detection only picks up people and is not fooled by animals entering the field of vision. The night vision is supplemented by a mini floodlight too, another acceptable surprise.
Easy to install, instructions are clear. Worth the money
Easy to set up and install, the tracking feature is great (and does not set off if small animals or insects etc, and the fact the camera follows/tracks any would be criminals in front of our factory, frightens them away as they know they are being watched. Great that you can also talk/listen to people through it too. I put a big memory card in it so its records 24/7. The spotlights and 3 colour night modes are cool. Picture quality is very high too.
This is not a bad camera for the price. The picture quality is quite good with the wide angle lens. I have several security cameras of different brands, I believe most of them are made by the same company and just branded differently as I have found the software used is the same on at least two of the three brands I have.
With regards to this camera the only negatives which I must say are minor are:
The night vision IR leds could be stronger to give a better spread over the wide angle lens, the night vision I would say is just adequate.
I wasn’t able to attach the network aerial as the bracket assembly was too short for the angle I needed to put the camera, luckily this wasn’t a problem for me as I was using a wired network linkage so WIFI wasn’t needed, but it might be a problem for others. Something I believe the manufacturers could do with looking at.
Attaching the camera to the CamHi Pro app was very easy along with the P2P Windows program for PC.
The mechanism supplied for water proofing the external RJ45 network plugs was impossible to use as the supplied kit was too small to fit the RJ45 plug through. Again for me this wasn’t a problem as I was using an external waterproof junction box. IeGeek need to look at the supplied waterproofing plugs as I cant believe I would be the only person sent the wrong size kit. In contrast I have two other IeGeek cameras that have the correct size kit supplied.
If you are planning on using a wired network, bare in mind that you will need to drill at least a 20mm hole to pass the cable through.
Would I buy again yes as the price is not too bad for what it is. It would be nice if IeGeek could address the above niggles with the manufacturer, be it them selves or another company.
Soo is great and very easy to use, camera quality is good! And mic feature is very handy!!
This is a wifi connected mains powered camera. Both night and day vision but where this benefits over other cameras is it twists and moves! Brilliant piece of equipment.
Great quality of build. A good app. Highly recommended and no worry of batteries going flat.
Has the additional SD card option (not supplied). clear accurate picture quality for the price of a cheap VGA style camera, win – win. Poly carbonate construction but doesn’t feel or look cheap. Can rival even the most expensive cameras at a budget price.
Another great camera at an excellent price. We’re having some building work done at the moment and we are fortunate enough to have large open spaces. We need a number of cameras to cover the areas and they need to be at a good price but have lots of features. This is my 4th ieGeek camera and this one does not disappoint. It is mains powered so needs to be near a power supply and it is WiFi enabled and it has a good range with the x2 5dBi antennas. The auto tracking feature is a great addition and this can be turned off in the app if you want to. Due to the colour night vision (see picture taken at midnight with the only light coming from the camera), the number and brightness of the LEDs doubles as a floodlight. Some ieGeek cameras use the CloudEdge App which is good and this one uses the CamHiPro app which is equally as good and has lots of features and is easy to navigate. You can also set preset positions on the camera, use PTZ controls and use two way comms all through the app despite where you are in the world.
The only fiddly bit I found was locating where the microSD card goes. On the underside of the camera, unscrew (screwdriver provided!) the small white cover, the card then slots into the silver small letterbox type slot. You may need to use a torch to locate properly and I have attached a photo to this review for ease.
When mounting the camera I had to unscrew a couple of screws on the top of the camera to pop off the lid so I could get to the mounting screw holes properly. This isn’t difficult and is easy to get on and off.
I would highly recommend this camera but remember it’s mains powered and not battery powered like a number of their other cameras. This didn’t put me off as I had mains power easily available where I was mounting this camera.
The price of this camera for the features you get is fantastic when comparing to other cameras with the same functionality, you won’t be disappointed.
Really good cctv camera. Very easy to set up and use with the app on my phone.
You can remotely move the camera left to right and it sends you alerts it it detects anyone.
Would recommend this over the very expensive models as this seems to do whats needed.
Picture quality is also very good
This is 3rd camera I’ve bought and by far the best so far.
Really easy to set up with clear instructions.
App is easy to get round.
Good wifi pick up, I thought it was too far from router but works brilliant.
Video panning and human detection is superb, really wide angle vision. Human detection works well and follows the subject 90+ degrees.
You can Pan and zoom from App too, great zoom.
Night vision has 3 settings which is useful.
Sturdy and waterproof.
2 way voice which is really clear.
24/7 recording with Memory card slot too.
Would recommend.
This is the 4th one of these doorbell cameras from igeek I have bought, and I honestly doubt it will be the last. I started with my first one at home and was so impressed with it I replaced a pretty expensive outdoor security camera with one on the back of my house (this 4th one I’ve just bought to use as a camera in the shop I own; it works far better than anything the security companies can offer, and the sound quality is great. I’ve already been able to use it to prove a customer gave me the wrong details. From a safety point as well it’s nice to have. Even if someone was able to yank the cables out – which would be quite difficult, the camera feed would still be available on the icloud app so it really is a win-win).
The clarity of the images during day (and night) is spot on even when it’s been slinging it down with rain (the snow added a little bit of mistiness to it but you would still see someone entering your garden).
The includes everything you need to set up – getting a memory card with any kind of camera is a very rare thing; all you will have to do is grab your drill to make the holes to attach it (the kit comes with all the cabling, screws, raw plugs and even a screwdriver).
The alerts work well; you have the option to disable them if you get too many – washing on the line in the back garden with the motion settings at high can get a little annoying! Along with choosing whether to have yours running constantly, or setting for motion only (there are different levels) you also have to the option to choose (from a set) how long you wish each clip to be (unlike a lot and other’s I’ve used once the set recorded time is up, if there is still movement it will automatically begin to record again so you never miss anything. When viewing back you have the option of each clip on it’s own, or as a whole where they will be stitched and run as a continuous recording.
The instructions for setting up are easy to follow; the mount templates included help with knowing where to drill and the whole thing from opening the box to recording your first clip can be done in 10 minutes.
The only downside is if your internet isn’t very quick the reaction time between someone calling and you being able to respond can be a bit delayed, however that’s not the fault of the camera. To be able to answer when you have a delivery being made wherever you may be in the world and tell the deliverer where to leave is a great thing; it’s also good if a company say they have delivered when they haven’t because you will have footage to prove them wrong. It’s also nice to be able to log on via the icloud app and monitor what’s going on. When I’m at work my office is at the back of the building; I can now run the app and keep a check on everything going out outside and know a customer is on their way in before they’ve even touched the door handle.
Do not let the cheap price put you off into thinking you will be getting a lower quality product; my niece has one of the more expensive ones, has to pay a monthly charge for it and it’s nowhere near as reliable as mine have been.
Several of my neighbours/friends/family have also bought one because of how pleased I have been with mine; they’ve all said how happy they are with it.
The setup process is clear, and works as described. Whilst it works with the included PSU, I will cable in a new bell transformer back to my CU (with a DIN-rail mounted transformer from ScrewFix). Neater, but personal choice.
Saw another reviewer reporting ONVIF problems, but that RTSP stream can be viewed in VLC. This works fine as described.
I have a hunch as to why ONVIF doesn’t work, so I’ll check that out and come back. I think it is that the NVR (hardware or software) will not detect new cameras unless they are ‘wired’: but this is only wireless.
I think you can get round that by detecting a wired camera (with the same credentials but a different ip), and then changing the assigned IP of the ieGeek to the ip that the NVR has detected ~ so effectively you ‘spoof’ it and make the swap.
(I’ve had to do this with other makes using Milestone software – successfully)
UPDATED, December 2021
Now, yes ~ perfect
Matches my door/lights. Appearance good.
Hard wired to ‘bell’ transformer to avoid need to charge.
You can view it on Amazon Echo (meira app)
You CAN view it using VLC on your local network (RTSP stream as stated by other review)
You CAN add it to NVR (I use Milestone) by configuring a generic camera ‘wired’ then amending to the ip address of this wireless unit
AND OF COURSE, it works remotely on your phone when away from home, and your ‘paired’ watch if you have smart watch
Perfect; absolutely no troubles with it since installation.
Would be good to offer additional chimes for upstairs/downstairs/garden – but the phone/watch facility is good.

This camera is very easy to use. The software installation is simple and easy step by step instructions. The camera itself is easy to install yourself in the required position. The picture quality is A1 including the night vision which is very clear. The motion sensor is good however be sure to set it to your requirements as this is very sensitive, this isn’t a problem as long as you get it right. If you don’t need the motion sensor this can be turned off independently. The audio is extremely clear, crisp and covers a good distance, this distance changes depending on height or objects that may deflect any sound.
This is great product for the price , I think having a doorbell camera which is wired is a lot better , the doorbell works as described and also works with Amazon Alexa screen and on google chromecast , so you can view the doorbell on a chrome cast tv or buy a seperste chromecast also on Amazon Alexa screen video smd sound is working , has extra features compared to ring, can record on memory card, motion can be turned off or you can select a area of cameras visibility for the motion, rather than having to use the whole of the area of the cameras visibility , cool feature as it will stop unwanted notifications. Also has a setting so you can select motion to detect humans only which also helps unwanted notifications , can connect more than one chime , video quality is good and sound is decent , there’s no big delay either in the voice or video, even works good on sd picture , another cool feature is a recorded message , so you can record lots of voice messsges sand when someone calls you can either accept the call or select the recorded voice message instead , you can record more than one recorded voice message , example is I can record voice saying one minute coming down or leave the parcel with next door , and instead of answering the call I can just select any one of the pre recorded voice messages I recorded and it will say that in the doorbell speaker , hood device easy to setup and worth the money
Bought 2 of these cameras for connection to an ethernet home network. I have only fitted one so far and will fit the second one in the next few days. The camera was recognised immediately by the network and was fairly easy to set up. The program for Windows pc and the phone app are great and really comprehensive and easy to use. Video clips are recorded to either your pc and/or the micro SD card (not included) in the camera when the camera senses movement. The movement detection frame and sensitivity of can be adjusted via the app or pc as can the recording schedules. The picture quality is excellent and faces are easily recognised. Night vision is also excellent. There is also very little latency between camera and the viewed image when connected directly via an ethernet cable. Overall, extremely impressed and satisfied with the whole set up.
I’ve had three video door bells, the first Netvue was wired very good. But you can’t buy them in the UK anymore. 2nd one was a generic one looks like a branded one but wasn’t, app was terrible, battery powered it took forever to wake from sleep mode, by the time I was saying hello the video was showing delivery men getting in their vans.
Now the ieGeek, very easy to install, & I prefer a wired doorbell.
Camera is great, night vision is good, sensor is very good. You can set the sensor area which is very clever. I liked the packaging & the plug in door chime was easy to connect, I even connected my previous door chime so it rings at both end of my home.
I steered clear of the Ring video door bell because if you want storage you have to pay monthly for cloud.
With the ieGeek you can choose & ive opted for SD storage why anyone would want to pay monthly I don’t know.
It’s very easy to watch the videos of comings & goings or photos, easy to delete individual or the days recordings.
It reacts quickly to a door ring but it does not ring your phone it vibrates & messages you. You have to open the phone go to the app & accept the call. Adding valuable seconds to respond, and as we all know delivery people don’t hang around.
So I sent an email to ieGeek & after two days they responded & promised to have their technicians look at it. Perhaps we will get an app update. But so far I’ve managed to catch each delivery person in time & microphone is clear & they all seem to hear me with no problems so I’ll definitely be sticking with the ieGeek.

For the price the performance of this device is beyond compare.
Pros:
1. The app works!! It’s not the nicest looking thing, but it works smoothly, gives good alerts, quality is excellent. It even has 24 x7 record mode and history, so you can literally scroll through the recordings minute by minute.
2. The kit has everything you need to connect it with several options – either using the 12V AC power typical doorbell chimes use or via a DC PSU, though of course if you use the DC you’ll need to do some rewiring or run your own wires. I re-used the existing doorbell.
3. It’s a nice touch it works with your WiFi and a remote chime, and it has all the functionality it does, it doesn’t “drop” anything other devices might.
4. It has audio record AND an intercom function, though intercom is subject to horrible lag (due to network transmission issues both ends when talking remotely – not really the devices’ fault just makes it a bit gimmicky)
Only cons (and I’m stretching here!)
1. I can’t get it to work with Blue Iris. The iegeek website said it does work via ONVIFRTSP but it simply will not work with mine – no video stream
2. It says IEGEEK on it which is a real shame sitting there in your doorway. Ugh. Crap name, ugly, sorry.
3. It’s very tight to get the module into the bracket with all the wires behind it, there’s no “space” in the bracket at all so I hope you have a nice big hole in your wall to tuck all the wires into..
Good job Iegeek (but please change the name!!!)
The Camera is very good, I installed it over the weekend so it can over look the entrance to the house.
It is wireless though I had to connect it to the router via a supplied ethernet cable first (after download the phone and pc software) and once it was connected I changed it to wifi.
I tried to connect it to wifi first (without using the ethernet cable) and the software was unable to connect for me (the user guide that comes with the camera says you can can connect straight to wifi but recommends connecting via the ethernet cable first).
Anyway after getting it up and running on the wifi I installed above the front door (see the pic), it comes with a power supply that you plug into a normal plug socket, the lead that connects to the camera is around 1m long so I bought an extension as I needed a long lead to reach my plug socket.
I would point out that there are some translation issues with the user guide which were a bit confusing at times but essentially you need to donwload the CamHI app from for your smart phone (there is a CamHIPro app-but it has less functionality). you need to download this first to set up the camera and then you can link the PC software to the app. (you can just use the phone app if you want).
If you do download the pc spoftware from the manufacturer website, (for windows) you will need to download a .Rar file extractor first to launch the software.
Installation was straightforward, there are plenty of videos on Youtube to explain how to do this, and also how to use the software if you get stuck but the manufacturer has a number of a guides too on their website.
Overall I am pleased with this and I would recommend it.
Spent some time researching which camera to buy. Some earlier detailed reviews were useful in choosing this one.
I think I’m fairly savvy about these things, but as is is often the case, setup is never as easy as you expect. Perhaps it’s me. But it worked fine after a little perseverance. I took the precaution of testing the camera in the house for a few days before installing it outside.
I had a power supply in place, though finding a suitable WiFi camera (including this one) to connect direct to the mains was a problem. Didn’t want to use batteries, but every camera comes with a bulky power supply. To accommodate that I installed a socket inside the deep IP66 enclosure shown, which also contains all the wires.
Installation: the triple-plug lead (see pictures on the website) will only just fit through a 20mm access hole, so I couldn’t use a proper gland. Instead I made a small hole in a grommet, cut through to it’s centre, wrapped it over the single flex, and used that as a seal. The site is well protected anyway, and that access is at the bottom, so water ingress is unlikely. I guess a much larger gland could perhaps be used, but this method worked fine. The connectors etc. were neatly hidden – and protected – inside the weatherproof enclosure. The camera requires 12v, so – as someone else suggested – you could use a LED transformer, but that means either cutting the supply lead or finding the appropriate in-line female plug. I preferred not to damage the kit or packaging in any way, in case I have to return it for any reason: I’ve only just fitted it……

Software seems pretty sophisticated, though the instructions (Chinglish here and there) can be obscure. I’m also using their Windows software for ease of setting up.
Response to questions has been quick and helpful thus far. I’m waiting on a query about directing recordings to a USB stick fitted to my router (cheap way of creating a NAS drive!) which I hope will avoid having to fit a micro-SD card in the camera.
Picture quality is good. All kinds of sensitivities etc. can be adjusted, though a would have liked more ability to alter top and bottom zones of the picture – only right and left can be adjusted for movement. Unless this is set up carefully, you can suffer unwarranted alarms.
All in all – very good. I’ll update this if I encounter any issues.
Yet to try out the two-way sound and siren!
UPDATE: two way sound is good – but not loud. Have to turn the volume up. Alarm activation good – detection of human form very useful. The software is – as I said – very sophisticated, but understanding it is a challenge. For example, you can indeed adjust the sensitivity over 4 zones which you can manually set, but finding how to do that took some ferreting about.
Although support was quick, it wasn’t all that helpful. A bit like the instructions and downloads: ‘the answer is there, you go and find it….’! If you’re prepared to persevere, this is a great buy – especially as I was able to get it when it was discounted.
I ordered two of these cameras. They were easy to install and connect to my network. I have one running over WIFI and the other connected directly to the router. Both give a clear picture both in daylight and at night.
The movement detection works well and have only had a couple of false alarms so far.
The WIFI range seems to quite good although the antenna is a bit large.
The only downside is the size of the network connector. It is still possible push all of the connectors through a 20mm hole (just).
I ended up powering the cameras with small LED power supplies which I wired into an existing circuit and put all the connectors in an IP65 box.
I’ve only had the cameras for a couple of weeks, but so far so good.
The camera was easily installed and up and working quite quickly. It connects to an iPhone and provides motion warnings, which can be viewed on the phone. it also links in with a NAS via network and videos can be reviewed on a laptop.
The motion sensor is a little slow and often the Warning video only catches the last bit of movement. You have to go back to the preceding video to see the whole action. There are 3 Allen key grub screws to make adjustments, one of these does not secure the base of the camera very well allowing it to ‘drop’ a little, but it is secure. The range of movement is limited, I haven’t managed to get it to move sideways and so have to resite the camera to get the required coverage. For the price this is a good security camera.
The instruction manual states that it can take a 128GB micro SD card. I bought one, a Sandisk one, which initially worked OK, but then it stopped working and this prevented me viewing videos on my phone. Whether the card packed up or there was some other cause I cannot say. I replaced it with a 8GB card and it works fine. They suggest Sandisk Security micro SD 64Gb cards, I have gone down this route and await it’s delivery.
The quality of the camera was evident as soon as I unpacked it. The instructions were easy to follow and the camera was so easy to set up on Wi-Fi . The camera has been installed at the front of the house for two weeks now and has been brilliant .The day and night vision is excellent.Although I thought I would not use the two way audio at all,it turns out that I have found it to be one of the most useful functions on the camera.
I highly recommend this camera
I bought this as an extra level of security for our home and it has certainly made us feel safer. We can see who is at the door, we can avoid answering cold callers and we can also speak to whoever is visiting. Despite being in our late 70’s we found it easy to set up and we love being able to hear the chime wherever we are in the house. We have it plugged into a socket in the hall and the sound carries upstairs no problem. Fitting for us was more complicated because we had just had a brand new UPVC door fitted and didn’t want to drill into the door to fit the doorbell. My husband had to drill into the brickwork adjacent to the door and then create a channel for the wiring. It was time consuming but worth the effort. At first we were getting alarms on the phone every little while, it picked up people walking in front of the house at the end of the driveway. A few tweaks with the settings and that was solved. The video images are clear and we like not having to subscribe to a cloud based storage system – the SD card is perfectly adequate and more cost effective. We have been using this for just over 4 weeks now and so far there have been no problems, as things stand at the moment I would happily recommend this product.

This is my second ieGeek IP outdoors camera. First one was for home in white. This one for indoors use in my office. The resolution on full colour during daytime and night vision on grey and white during nigh time are pretty spectacular for the price point. Installation on wall is straightforward and connection to WiFi/Ethernet take a bit of time, but once connected never drops and remote access via the app is always there.
One minor issue is when it’s raining and I have setup the Motion Detection Alarm to record, it seems the sensitivity of the lenses picks up the rain as movement. Apart from that, I am extremely happy.
So good I bought two, very easy to install, super features – more than I expected. Motion detection and picture quality are terrific and the night vision is excellent. No cloud storage subscriptions all done on the device and your phone. Gmail alerts were a bit tricky for me to setup but the support customer service team were great. Well done, awesome product at a great price!
As soon as I took the camera out of the box I was surprised just how well made it seems to be with its sturdy metal case and mount. I decided to use the RJ45 socket for a wired connection on my installation. After downloading the CamHiPro app on my phone, the installation and setup was very easy. The phone app lets you do everything you need to which is really good.
I invested in a quality micro SD card and spent a few days adjusting the video settings with the app. The recorded playback is smooth and the video quality is high. You can freeze the playback, zoom into the picture and read the detail like vehicle reg numbers. I have it set for both continual and alert recording. The app lets you list the recording files and any that were alert triggered are highlighted in red, great if you just want to see what was happening when you were out. I should be able to get over a month’s worth of recordings on the 128Gb card before the files are overwritten. Its easy to dowload a file you want to save onto your phone with the app.
It’s good that the app prompts you to change the camera default password. Don’t forget to set the camera time and timezone. If you need to reset or change from wired to wifi you might need to quit from the app and go back in.
I’m really pleased with this camera and already thinking about getting another.
I purchased one several days ago,(October 2020) unfortunately, I had a faulty one, contacted the service team replacement sent out straight away. This one worked great for approx 9 months then this week as soon as the warm weather came if fell apart. I contact the supplier who stated , take it up with Amazon as they charge you for the 2 year warranty? I am afraid that Amazon customers services were far from helpful.
Thankfully the igeek service department look at this and took control of the situation and sorted a replacement camera for me, absolutely excellent support from the igeek team
Having used the 2MP version of this camera to record hedgehog activity ay my home, I was keen to get this 5MP version, simply due to the increased resolution it has.
The improved resolution is definitely noticeable on the resulting stills and video – this 5MP camera captures a lot more detail than the old 2MP model. However, at night with IR, the difference in definition of any moving image (e.g. a person or animal), is not really noticeable – you may struggle to get any identifying features of a person’s face caught in the footage. This however, is a problem with any IR camera I have ever seen, so I don’t see it as a problem with this particular camera.
The colours in this 5MP camera’s footage are also a lot better than on the 2MP model.
The camera feels solid and well made, and is easy to mount in the angle you want it to sit. The Cam-Hipro app makes setup easy and you can make it capture stills and video on motion detection (sensitivity adjustable) to a MicroSD card (not included) plugged into the camera. It will also record continuously (in clips up to 900 seconds) which helps if you want to see footage leading up to, or after an alert. It can also send to a FTP server, up to 15 seconds of footage and 3 still photos very shortly after motion is detected – useful if the camera is stolen. There are a lot of other configurable settings, e.g. to set the area that motion is detected in to trigger an alert, so that you could for example, exclude a neighbour’s driveway.
One huge improvement is ‘humanoid detection’. When enabled, this means that an alert (Cam-Hipro notification, email or FTP recording) should only be generated if the camera detects movement that appears to be human. I played around with this and it does appear to work quite well, optionally framing the ‘person’ in a yellow box as it moves about. When enabled, it should not trigger if animals or other movement like swaying foliage or rain is seen (alerts from rain does occur a lot on the older 2MP model), but as I am using the camera for wildlife recordings, I don’t enable this feature, and generally don’t look at alerts if it’s been raining due to the continual alerts that that are generated without humanoid detection enabled.
The Windows HiP2P Client offers even more settings than the mobile app Cam-Hipro (e.g. to enable “Wide dynamic range” to improve on the visibility of light and dark areas of the footage/stills). It does feel a little ‘clunky’ and takes a little getting used to (it helps to be a ‘techie’ to get it working and use it). You can also set up to 4 different sized and positioned areas (with different sensitivities) to detect motion in, whereas on the mobile app, only one area can be set.
Due to having ONVIF & RTSP, the choice of software to use with this camera is vastly increased – I was easily able to get AnyCam to access the camera, and the resulting live image was even better than on the Windows HiP2P Client software as it showed the main stream instead if the sub-stream (I could not get HiP2P to show the sub stream live even though it is an option), but recorded video and images are all from the main stream.
So all in all, despite the few minor issues mentioned above, I think this is a superb camera well deserving 5 stars. I have attached some cropped images comparing the images during day and night of the old 2MP camera and this 5MP camera, a full daytime image , and a night video that first shows footage from the old 2MB camera, and then from this 5MB camera so the differences in image quality can be compared.
This camera is stunning – far better detail and higher definition than earlier iegeek 1080P cameras and far wider viewing angle.
For the novice out of the box wanting wifi camera to work….
If you follow basic instructions, download app to your phone (say Camhipro) use ethernet cable connected to router and set up wifi as instructed. (I have my cameras on wifi not ethernet, the reason being I don’t want to drill ‘big’ holes in walls to feed ethernet cables through to router). I actually installed ABS boxes on exterior of house to contain all cables everything except 12V power cable.
Firstly, the app…There’s a few settings you might want to alter and use, alarm recording etc.
You can alter ‘Humanoid alarm’ to ‘frame human form’ if you want see frame of AI in app recording and what has caused ‘human’ trigger. It’s not infallible – the neighbours fat black cat sometimes triggers it at night…haha!
You can also use this ‘Humanoid alarm’ function with ‘motion detection’ if desired and link the two together and define area trigger. I personally don’t use this, and I’ll explain why further down.
I actually cranked the bit rate up to 6144 and frame rate to 25Fps in video settings. Because it is VBR (variable bit rate) and Fps is maximum frame rate, the camera decides what is best in firmware…i.e these are not fixed, so will vary regardless…some people think the camera is ‘fixed’ to this bitrate and Fps – not true…I also did this because video definition is higher and much clearer than default video settings..
The video replay will ‘stutter’ on playback in app after trigger (if you look at little symbol of SD icon on ‘Camera’ you can access all triggers and view them). Consider this a ‘preview’ of what caused motion trigger…it seems that when camera triggers off movement, the frames ‘freeze’ on trigger and causes ‘stuttering’. I see others complaining about this…however, if you ‘download’ triggered video to app, SD ‘symbol’ ‘download’ this puts video in app folder. Then return and go into app folder icon on main ‘Camera screen’. Hit the blue ‘download symbol’ at right hand side of saved video in app…and then hit ‘determine’ – it means ‘yes’…another Chinese term haha! This converts and puts video in your phone. Now, replay video that’s in your phone memory…hey presto…no ‘stuttering’… and a smooth video. I’ve tried this on my Samsung S9+ – I just look in ‘gallery’ and recent videos.
I also set the camera up for email as an experiment…a bit fiddly, particularly as I use btemail…took me a while to find the server port and settings – SMTPs name – mail.btinternet.com, server port – 465, safe link – SSL, authentication on.
I actually tried this on another hotmail address I have, these are the settings, SMTP name – smpt.live.com, server port – 587, safe link – STARTTLS, authentication on.
Make sure you put the ‘receive alarm push’ on in settings ‘alarm management and notification’ setting – this will allow camera to transmit email trigger within seconds…
This option sends ‘snapshots’ via email of what caused trigger. You can set how many pictures to be sent…’alarm management and notification’ tab in app, right at bottom ‘number of pictures taken’ – you can set this between 1 and 3.
It works pretty good…
Now, there is another way of accessing more ‘advanced settings’ not available on app but with your own PC on same network in your house.
This is how you do it…In the app, if you scroll down in ‘camera settings’ and ‘Device information’ it gives an ‘IP address of camera’.
Note this, and type the address in search web bar…(I use Chrome).
This camera has a web interface…it should come up with login screen. The default is login name ‘admin’, password ‘admin’ (unless you’ve changed password previously – which I highly recommend…).
You won’t see any live stream off camera – the reason being (in my case), Microsoft/Chrome block flash player automatically as a security risk, and this uses flash player (if you re-enable it – you will see live feed from camera). You can also enter ‘settings’ tab, it’ll possibly ask login name and password again. There’s a plethora of settings…
I actually changed the ‘H265’ default video setting to ‘H264 High profile’ (you cannot access this in app on phone). I’m not a fan of ‘H265’ encoded videos, although it might be great, a lot of older devices don’t support ‘H265’ – it is a new compression method. I actually see no difference in video quality. I also saw some guy complaining that he could not upload ‘H265’ videos to youtube (they don’t support it) on questions about this camera when I looked last night…
There is another reason, I changed the video to ‘H264 High profile’ below…
I’ve actually got these cameras working on ‘Contacam’ software – I have two, monitoring back garden and front garden. They use RTSP, so I can access them with IP address and RTSP port 554.
I love this software on PC – purely my own preference. I can define in intrinsic detail area of what triggers cameras on motion detection…mask out tree branch movements etc.
So, I use a standalone fanless PC in house triggering and recording separately at night time using Contacam.
I primarily use the cameras to monitor wildlife in my front and back garden with PC and Contacam software.
However, I found that Contacam drops camera feed if video setting is ‘H265’. When cameras are set to ‘H264 High profile’ they work perfect. That’s why I altered it.
The HiP2P Client software they recommend, I ditched. It worked great on microsoft windows until I changed passwords on cameras. Then I couldn’t login (even with new password I set on cameras)…couldn’t be bothered investigating why…if I can’t login with a secure password on P2P, I always think bin it.
This is funny as well, the 5MP camera I installed in back garden…the wifi router signal would not reach it. So, I bought a relatively cheap extender from Amazon…https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00NIUHAG6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I thought, no chance – it can’t cope with data bandwidth (some people talk absolute rubbish on internet and condemned this when I looked), anyway after lots of fiddling about with where to put it, it works perfect!
So, the pros…
Excellent high definition footage (particularly on my Contacam software).
Very good notification on app ‘human’ motion trigger – it triggers correctly – it’s captured every dog walker that’s walked past my house.
Superb night footage and live high definition video ‘feed’ – possibly the best camera I’ve had for this…
The cons…
HiP2P client is not good enough – I never resolved the login stuff.
Any video I’ve captured never runs greater than 12.5 Fps…which is OK for viewing? Why? I even accessed SD card thinking it was my network…nope! The same on recordings…on app saved footage and Contacam saved footage.
Should give an option in video menu on app to change format of video recording from H265 to H264.
The camera sometimes triggers in app on big fat neighbours black cat…it thinks it is a human…haha!
The Camhipro app always ‘stutters’ on video replay…that needs looking at by iegeek…I shouldn’t have to go through complex steps to prove footage is ok on phone on phone memory…
So, my opinion? Yep, absolutely best wifi cameras I have installed. Great to look at wildlife in more detail than old 1080P cameras…me and partner laugh at some of what these cameras capture when we review in morning…
I’ve attached a couple of videos (I used Contacam to record) and pics of installation …enjoy, I’m no David Bailey, but at least you can see the box I put all ‘redundant’ cables in one pic of camera on front garden. I turned off ‘OSD’ settings for time and date in web interface, because I prefer the Contacam time and date settings on motion detection recordings on videos…

I decided to upgrade my current push button doorbell with a camera version as I thought it would be useful if I was away from home to get notified of parcels being delivered, as sometimes they don’t leave a card and hide the parcels out of sight and I only find them by chance.
There’s also been a few occasions where my milk delivery has been missing and I wasn’t sure if they’d been pinched or just not delivered.
I’ve also missed people at the door when I’ve been in the back garden or garage and not heard the doorbell which is a bit annoying.
So I opted for the new ieGeek WiFi doorbell camera as I already have a few other cameras of this brand dotted around and I’ve found them good and reliable.
The box comes with everything you need to install the doorbell either using existing powered doorbell wires if you have them, or there is a plug in power adapter included with a good long cable and spade connectors at the end for fitting to the back of the unit. It’s important to note this is not a battery camera like some other brands, so it will need a power source, I think this is better as it removes the hassle of removing and refitting the doorbell and then having to charge it for hours.
Also included are all the screws and wires you might need along with a screwdriver and security screwdriver which is great, so you don’t need to go hunting for tools and stuff. The only things you might need are a drill and possibly an electric screwdriver.
There’s also an optional angled mount included which is useful if the doorbell will be mounted off to the side of the door as mine is.
You’ll also need a Micro SD card if you want to record and playback footage and a spare 5V USB mains plug or USB port for the separate ringer unit.
The instructions for setting up the camera were very clear, and thanks to the included power adapter I was able to get all this done before mounting to make sure everything was working ok.
The CloudEdge app is very easy to use and get the camera added, you just create an account then scan a QR code to add the camera, it all went very smoothly first time.
You can then plug in the ringer unit and follow the easy steps to get it paired with the doorbell.
Mounting the camera to the door frame was straightforward for anyone with basic DIY skills, just make sure you have switched off the power first if replacing an existing powered doorbell!
There are some template stickers included in the box to help with drilling holes if needed and there are some short extension wires and joiners if you need a bit more cable to play with, which I did as mine had been cut so they just reached the old doorbell and they were a little bit short for the larger replacement.
The last job is adding some jumper wires in the old mechanical bell unit to bypass it as this will not work anymore and to ensure all the power is going to the new doorbell, again these are included in the box so it was a very quick and easy job.
Once that was all done, which probably all took 30 minutes, most of which was looking for my drill, the power was switched back on and after a few seconds of powering up and reconnecting to the WiFi the steady blue light came on to show it was working.
It looks very neat once fitted and all the wires are hidden behind. I also like the light on the button which makes it obvious to visitors and easy to find in the dark.
I plugged the ringer into a spare socket in the hallway so I can hear it throughout the house, you can also choose from several ringtones within the app.
When someone presses the bell, my phone pops up with a screen that looks a bit like a phone call, the live video shows in the top half and you have the option to answer and speak to the visitor or hang up to ignore. You can also record a standard message to play to them.
If you’re not near your phone, the notification will be recorded so you can play back the footage easily later from the alert.
Within the app you can also view live footage or go back and see previous events, there is also an option to record continuously.
There an option to enable a motion detection feature which can alert and record if someone is nearby even if they don’t press the bell, so it acts like a security camera as well. I had some issues with this initially as my door faces onto a main road and it was picking up the cars going past and pinging notifications every few minutes, but I was able to easily configure this to ignore movement in certain areas of the picture.
The app also features a cloud storage option with a free trial so it can upload footage automatically, but you don’t need to use this if you don’t want and it will work fine with just the MicroSD card.
The picture is clear and you can choose between SD, HD and FHD (Full HD). The automatic night vision feature also works well when it gets dark.
This is a great upgrade to my old doorbell and I’m very happy with it.
Reasonably priced and highly specd, motion detection is a nightmare, constant false alarms. App is very easy and user friendly. Feels solid.
I bought this camera to use in a new home in a few weeks’ time. Tried it out to make sure it works first, and it does. Had an issue with it dropping the wired network connection after a few seconds – the router just dropped the connection. It was solved after I formatted the (previously used) SD card I had put in the camera, so using a new or freshly formatted card is obviously a crucial step in the set up of the camera! I was then able to disconnect the network cable and the camera stayed connected to my home wi-fi. It’s now back in its box awaiting its final installation.
Great camera. I Was looking to increase the number I had and decided to go for this one. It works well with the camhipro app, so was easy to set up, and installing on my home is very straight forward.
WiFi connection is great, once you have set up using an ethernet, so then you can access it from anywhere.
This one had a better spec camera which is great as it shows the picture in more detail.
This camera works like a dream. Where I’ve sited it there is a lot of passing traffic in the background so if it was on a conventional motion-detection it would be recording the whole time. But with it’s ability to detect only humans it has an uncanny ability to detect and film any human walking past, but ignore all other movements. Very easy to set up and mount, includes all fixings. The software takes a short while to work out, but once mastered provides a simple access to all of the functionality you will need.
This camera, the IG90, is the upgraded version of the 2MP (1080p) camera, model IG82. I have 4 IG82s which I bought because they are high quality and fairly priced for the specifications and was hoping that the upgraded IG90 would offer the same, so was keen to check out the differences. The reviews on Amazon for the IG82 are very good, so they are worth reading for the baseline. After using the IG90 for a month now, I am really pleased with it, it’s a really good upgrade and have bought an additional unit. The attached video shows a few sequences so you can check it out for yourself.
New Features
The capabilities of this upgraded version are impressive – it’s 5MP resolution, so you get an image that is more detailed, more saturated (better colours) and larger. If you google 1080p vs 5mp security camera you will see reviews that explain the differences in more detail. In the case of the IG90, the upgrade is exactly what you would hope to see – it’s a high quality image. The image area is also larger so if you have the camera positioned so it’s pointing directly down you will capture a noticeably large field of vision than with a 2MP camera.
The IG90 also has humanoid — ie human shape — detection which is really good and allows alerts to be sent whenever it detects a human in areas of the image that you can customise. So you can ignore a busy pavement outside your house, but if someone steps off it to head towards your place you receive an alert.
Other features
Whilst the camera is versatile and can be customised in all kinds of way it can also be used straight out of the box, after changing the default password obviously. The default setting options are fine and include H265 video compression which makes saving the data to SD card or HDD size-efficient. 1h of high resolution H265 footage takes roughly 2GB of memory card or disk space at 15 FPS (the default option) — there are plenty of online calculators that can help you run the numbers – so a 128GB card, which the cameras take and costs around 20, will store 128 hours or so of video. If you set the camera to record only when it’s triggered it will give you weeks of footage. I record to my PC via a WiFi connection and to the camera as a back up, just in case WiFi fails.
The infra red imaging is good for night shots — see the attached video sequence.
The camera works seamlessly with the 3rd party software I use. To be clear, you don’t need additional software to use it — you can use your mobile via the CamHiPro app, which is easy to use, connect to it directly on your PC via the camera’s inbuilt user interface or use 3rd party software. I do all 3. In fact, the easiest way to get started and connect to the network is via the CamHiPro app which is simple to use — just be prepared for some curious translations from Chinese eg “determine” means “ok”!
Network connection
The housing for the IG90 is identical to the IG82 so swapping in the new unit is a breeze if you are upgrading. The easy way to set up the camera before wall mounting is to connect it to your router/network with the supplied CAT5 cable, download the CamHiPro app to your mobile and press the “+” button to detect and add the new camera. At this point, it’s best to do 2 things (1) select and connect to the wifi network you are planning to use when you set it up outside — if you do it now, the camera will auto-reconnect to it when you set it up outside (test the connection by disconnecting the CAT5 cable) (2) if you are so inclined, get the camera’s ip address from the app, connect to it via your pc and change the settings to what works for you.
Troubleshooting Wifi connections
The signal gain on the cameras’ antennae is really good — I have been running them for weeks without dropping the connection for more than a few seconds from time to time — but getting a clean, strong WiFi connection is critical and what seems strong inside will be weaker outside. For troubleshooting, the easiest thing is to buy a long cat5 cable — you can get 50m brand new on a well known auction site delivered for under a tenner — which will allow you to connect direct to the camera and check out the wifi connection around the unit without resetting it or indeed taking it off the wall. Be ready for the wifi signal to be strong at some times of day and weaker at others. I already had an inexpensive wifi network extender which I repositioned and have had no problems.
Support
As far as support is concerned, there have been no problems with this unit — previously, I had a problem with one of the previous cameras, the support team were very helpful and when we realised it wasn’t functioning properly they replaced it. No hassle.
First off, i work with CCTV at multiple locations so i make comparison to those as well.
In the box is the camera, basic instruction for setup, USB power supply and a good length cable (micro USB). The camera comes with ceiling mounting bracket & fixings in the box as they work just as well upside down as sitting on a surface (The night vision shot of the nursery is mounted on the roof).
Setup is stupidly simple. Install the app (not some random download but a google approved, play store app) and create an account. Turn on the camera, let it self check. On the app press the plus to add a new camera, give your Wifi password and it shows a QR Code that you present to the camera. DEET DEET and it is done, camera added, ready to use.
Access is via your home PC or you can log in through the app from Wifi or Mobile (i check in at my work to see how he is sleeping or say hi).
The camera has full PTZ capability, it also receives and transmits sound with options to turn those off. Motion tracking works well on small as well as large objects. The camera also has an on board slot for a micro SD card should you need to stand alone record or set to record on motion.
There is a Cloud service that you can pay for that allows notifications to be sent on noise or motion activation and stores footage etc in addition to allowing people access to video without giving them acces to the camera network.
I have used one of these cameras for almost a year now and installed the second one just last month.
I highly recommend these camera units for affordability and capability. For 30 a camera with full PTZ and remote access, you’re not going to find better for the price and for ease of use.
I have been using this camera for a few weeks now. I am really pleased with the picture quality, even on standard definition it is good. The smart detection is quite sensitive but I found that setting it up to human detection and on low sensitivity I wasn’t getting alerts every time a bird flew past! I am using it to check on my car as my neighbour has taken to parking his far too close for comfort and hitting my car with his door. I would turn alerts off but it seems it then doesn’t seem to store any video. It is good that the status light and night vision lights can be turned off, as it is an indoor camera viewing through a window which reflected those lights when they were on, but a shame that night vision itself kicks in automatically and I can’t find a way to switch it off altogether as I’m sure the picture quality would be better in colour as there are streetlamps nearby. Also, if filming at night it is better in an unlit room for reason of light reflection on the window disturbing the image quality through the glass. Perhaps night vision quality would be better in HD but I would rather save space on my SD card at the moment to get more hours stored. The sliding view of the data that is saved is really easy to use so to find the bits of video I want to save is easy, either by using the alert list or swiping the data band below the picture. It was easy to set up on my WiFi and pretty simple to understand all the options on the app. The only downside when setting up was that I have it on the window ledge and, not realising the aerial would move with the camera, managed to swipe a plant on to the floor when it did it’s switching on routine. My mistake! I haven’t used the motion tracking, intercom or baby alerts as I don’t need those options. I also haven’t used the cloud storage option. Overall I am very pleased with this camera and would recommend it.
What a fantastic purchase! This is my fourth camera from IeGeek. They just seem to get it better and better each time.
I am really impressed with the ease of set up and the functionality as well as the build quality and video quality. Not only does it have motion detection but it actually follows the movement so you capture the movement of the person/animal etc.
The fact that it allows you to add cloud storage is an added bonus. If you do not wish to buy into the cloud service, then this too is possible.
The playback is fabulous since it can be speeded up but also the time line can be expanded so that you can look at the video in more detail!.
I am really very impressed with the camera and would definitely recommend this product and in fact have already done so to a number of friends and family members.
Well done guys!
Whilst the USB cable is great it could be even better if it was longer – that said for my purposes it is fine.
Bought this to keep an eye on the cat while we’re away. Super easy setup. Good range of view (Well over 180 degrees). Not using the SD card or cloud and still have access to many of the functions. Can use on 4g while out and turn it on/ off remotely but the app can be a bit laggy and it takes a few taps to open things. The Talk function is fun too. Also, my husband and I can both control the app if we log in under one account. It has a pin function to access camera and settings which is good piece of mind from a security perspective. Will buy a second one as it’s amazing value for money for what you get.
The first thing I wish to state for those not wishing to read through my entire review, is that this is my third ieGeek camera, and I am entirely happy with this device. I believe it to be super quality and excellent value for money, and offers a full feature functionality set that is quite hard to better at the price, and has certainly lived up to the high standard I have come to expect from my two existing ieGeek cameras.
If you are looking for a low cost, full featured, high quality internal or external security camera, I would without a doubt, certainly recommend ieGeek.
So, I wanted a third ieGeek camera, mainly for internal monitoring of my property. This model is quite simply, perfect. Setting up was a breeze with the YI IoT app, which allowed a very fast set up time, and I was able to view the image on my camera within 5 mins of opening the box.
Picture quality is excellent, with full 1080 HD resolution available (you can select SD if preferable), which is pin sharp on my iPhone in both portrait and landscape orientation. You can name the camera, and this name is displayed on the screen if required, together with the date and time.
The app offers a range of advanced features, all of which are extremely easy to use. One thing I particularly liked is the ability to move the camera viewpoint remotely using the virtual joystick in the app. Using it the camera can pan and tilt across significant angles left, right, up and down, so it is easy to adjust he camera from where you place it in its resting position to obtain the specific view angle you require. This allows the camera to be physically positioned almost anywhere, with full adjustment of the camera view from within the app. Response times for camera movement are also impressive – around 0.5s latency in movement over my home WiFi.
I am also able to view the image using 4G when I am outside my home network, useful of course for when one is not home.
Motion detection is excellent, and can be set to detect people (with Cloud service subscription), or other movement within the camera field of view as standard. In fact I had to turn down the motion detection sensitivity as the camera was detecting the small branches on the bushes outside my conservatory moving slightly in the breeze. Motion detection records short videos when motion is detected.
There is also a voice function – referred to as ‘call mode’ – with this app, not something I would ever need to use, but has enormous potential for those who would require such functionality. Interestingly, the camera also features sound detection, which is really useful if using the camera to listen for a baby cry etc.
All in all this is a first class internal security camera that I am very happy with, and would certainly recommend to anyone considering purchasing a home security camera.
Well I feel this is good price for this camera, 37 and it works a treat. I bought it because I wanted to monitor the cat (see if he was up to no good). I went over a load of reviews on this camera (and similar) and they seemed to be okay. However, this had sold over 1800 items with a 5* average. Turned up the day after I ordered it from Amazon. Very easy to set up and link to my phone through the app. There is a delay of about half a second viewing the picture — but it would be petty to complain about that! I have only tested it during the day, but the reviews indicate that night vision is okay. The color picture is superb. I can speak to my cat (which is funny as he comes up close the camera and his face look massive!) The sound is brilliant and seem to work like a walkie talke . The move functions work great. It comes with a load of fixings for ceiling attachment. The usb cable /power supply is a good length. Nice bit of kit. Probably going to get another.
I have installed it in one of my store , simple to fix just screw the plastic dice anywhere just be careful you have a power socket nearby . Supply power with the adopter and cable included . Install the app on your phone and reset the camera with the help of a pin . Make sure phone is connected to the wifi and not mobile data and you can easily search and pair the camera . The video quality is very good both in the daylight and night . The camera has an extra feature that it can follow a moving object that passes in front . I have purchased a micro sd card separately and installed it on the camera for recording . If you are looking for quality video and not cheap cameras , this is your choice.
I have bought the Iegeek security camera and have been very happy with the purchase. The camera is very quick to respond and record HI resolution images giving total peace of mind that my home is safe whilst away. Camera allows cloud storage at a cost but very effective. Having the 355 degree rotation on the camera is great. It allows me to chat to my family whilst away. Very helpful if you call them and ask what they need taking home. There is the option to use a 64gb micro drive where most others only go Up to 32gb. Would definately recommend. Picture quality in good or poor light is excellent.
So I was I the market for a new camera, I found out that this model was perfect for all the requirements I was looking.
I’m very happy that ra comes with an app that I can control the camera directly through my phone anywhere and I can connect to it whee I am, as I usually travel and I’m out house most of the time, it’s nice to know I can have access to it anytime.
For that reason is great that have night vision so I have completely vision capabilities through 24h even in darkness and it also works with glass which is a common problem with cameras that doesn’t work their algorithms properly when glass interference but this one works as well so I can use it to face the street from inside my house.
One thing I really find useful is the human detection as I don’t have to worry when my pets for example are around so it avoid them.
The most interesting part that I really like is that it havecloud storage so I can have completely security that all the video footage is storage securely in internet so if something happens and the camera is damaged or stolen, I would still have the videos in a safe place in the cloud.
As well it comes with an standard usb connector so it can be use it with any usb phone charger, and that gives the capabilities to use it with a power bank or a usb solar charger, which means that you can use it for example in your caravan if you go camping to check the exteriors for example.
Apart comes with a very useful app so you can control all the capabilities and settings so you can program to work as the behaviour you want.
I do really like that the company thought about the environment and used cardboard for its packaging which is 100% recyclable.
Overall I’m satisfied and happy with this camera.
Good quality camera, easy to install (5mins) with no extra expense, i rent an office space in a business centre, where i store my inventory, and for peace of mind i have been looking to install cctv in the office, which would have cost me couple of 100 pounds now cost me next to nothing, i can control everything from my phone plus has mic for 2 way communications, and provided me 360 view of office.
Does require memory card for storage or the option of registering with cloud for online storage.
Has many cool features and can’t go wrong with price and service.
This is our 9th IEGEEK camera – we have bought them for our elderly parents, for our own home security and to keep an eye on our dog when we are away from the house for any length of time.
We prefer the motion sensor ones – which this one is. It is really easy to set up and connect to WiFi and offers the greatest scope for the camera and covers the whole room when motion is detected.. The sensor is excellent and sends notifications to our phones when triggered. It can be over sensitive at times, being triggered by changes in day light or a fly crossing the screen, but the sensitivity level can be altered. All in all a great camera for an affordable price. I just wish that the option of the Cloud was a more reasonable cost as some of the features don’t work unless you purchase it.
I have been overwhelmed with the ease of use and the quality of this product. Within 5 mins of opening the box, I had the camera setup and connected to the YI IOT app. The app is easy to use and allows complete control of the camera, allowing you to move the camera up, down, left right aswell as hearing the audio from the camera aswell as speaking through the speaker of the camera (although I will now use this feature as I’m using it to monitor my car, although it would be useful for monitoring pets etc).
A good feature of the app is the automatic function of the camera, where the camera will track movement and automatically follow the object. The camera also has motion detection where you can be notified through the app of any motion that has been detected.
A cloud service is also available for the camera in which recording are saved to the cloud, and can be reviewed afterwards but I’m not currently using this feature but is good for future use.
In general the product is a well build and reasonably priced camera for a wide range of purposes with clear images and built in night vision, with software for Windows, Android or iOS that is feature rich and easy to use. Would recommend 🙂
The camera arrived quick and was easy to set up, I had trouble finding the desktop application as the link in the instructions did not work but I managed to find the software on Google, unfortunately Amazon won’t let me post the link . If you want the app on android just find it on the Google Play Store. I can’t comment on Apple as I don’t use that.
Both the software on PC and on Android works well. When setting up you have to create an account so looks like the camera can be used remotely via the Internet anywhere you are located which is good. The camera has some good features, you can use the movement controls to move the camera up, down, left and right and it does respond very well. I am using the camera for my baby when she is born, the only issue with that is where to put it so currently it’s placed on a unit. There is no clip to attach to the Cot like another camera I saw but included there is screws to place it on a wall.
I tested the night vision and this works great! can see very clearly and it has 3 options for quality SD, HD and Auto which will change depending on the speed of the connection. I found in SD mode using wireless you get live footage with no delay but in HD you may get about 1-2 second delays. I noticed it shows the connection speed at the bottom right of the screen which shows in KB/s. In SD mode It shows at around 51KB/s and HD it can hover around 81KB/s , it would be good if there was a option to increase the connection speed to the camera being that my wireless and Internet can handle a lot more and this would surely stop any lag issues on HD mode, for this reason I took off one star but it’s hardly a big issue a few seconds lag. I can’t comment on using a ethernet cable as I haven’t tried that. But I am happy with the quality even in SD mode.
I haven’t used a SD card or the cloud services, though don’t see I would have any issues with that.
The app is very clean and works great, you can select a pin for security and enable motion tracking, turn on and off status light and night vision IR light. Some features are disabled unless you buy the cloud service. With that it activates some extra features like human detection and abnormal sound detection which would be used to detect for example your baby crying and notify you. For me I just want to use it so I can see my baby at all times in live mode when she is sleeping.
The camera does make a little sound when moving the camera using the arrow controls but you expect that, I would not say it’s very loud though. The beeping when setting up the camera is very loud, this happens when the camera does not have a connection to the router, but it’s only when first setting up. I haven’t had any issues with the camera losing connection upstairs from my router. Once connected it’s stable.
The camera has a option for 2 way conversation, I have tried this and it seems to work fine.
The build quality of the camera is good and it looks and works great. I can imagine this being very good for security and I might consider getting another in the future. The app allows you to connect to more than one camera and you can just select which one to view and to think security cameras with night version used to be so expensive and most were not even wireless.
Overall I’m very happy with the camera.
