I have had a few security camera’s and required one for my disabled entrance. Although you can’t move remotely it’s great for one specific place with loads of people traffic. It notifies and records when it detects human motion/activity. If using on your Windows PC (or others) download the Blue Stacks App Player as its an Android camera. Get Blue Stacks on Google play or other Android emulator perhaps for Apple/Macs. You can also talk through the camera and listen. Its difficult to test this need another person to try it but my daughter says she can hear me asking who is there when its on. Apps okay still trying to find if there is a zoom feature.

Good little camera, doesnt call home every second to China like my previous security camera which this has replaced, but it does make calls to amazon compute. So if that server goes down you may lose some features. Solar powered, so doesnt need to be kept pluged into the mains, and wont cost anything to run. Good motion detection and AI human detection. Unfortunatly, like all bullet camera’s it does attract spider webs across the lense, but not as quick as my previous camera. Good little camera and now looking at getting some more to replace the now unpugged cheap Chineese crap I had before.

The product failed within 6 months of the purchase date, it could of been a one off faulty product, as i have brought the IGeek Door ring camera and this is still working superb.

But i must say that the customer service team were superb in sorting out any issues and resolving any concerns i had.
I will be recomending I Geek products to all my Family & Friends.
    thank you IGeek

Initially I struggled with getting a link to the router but followed secondary instructions and checked was not using the 5g login, needed to reset the router to get the link. Wifi where I wanted to put the camera was a 60-70% and it works really well. Can monitor it via my phone and the alert system seems to only trigger for people. Solar panel is maintaining 100% battery, excellent value for money. No subscription needed.

Camera works pictures good but when viewing alerts or history and first switching on takes to long to load up. Needs a bit more R&D to improve this glitch. You can view on your phone but because of loading time it is not really real time it could take two minutes to load up. To play back and check alerts is painful slow. I will persist for a while longer but if glitchs remainwill take down. And look for a hard wired camera that can perform. Again with all this type of tech advertising video and photos promise the earth don’t can’t deliver the came is very close to my WI-Fi but is slow .

I Spent a lot of time researching which camera to buy. I already have a ring doorbell but did not want to go to the expense of the Ring outdoor camera/subscription option.
I found this camera on Amazon and it had a lot of favourable reviews so I thought I would try one before I buy another two.
I installed and had the camera up and running in around an hour. It gives great coverage and clear pictures and stores clips on the extra SD card that i also purchased. i can highly recommend .

I have 4 iegeek cameras now and this one is an improvement with regards to only recording people (instead of recording literally anything that moves or any change in light on previous cameras). This results in fewer false alarms. It’s quite a wide angle but the quality of image is excellent. It also has sound which is good. The solar panel has so far been more than able to keep the battery charged and it’s never lost power over the last few weeks. Recommended.

I use principally to ensure chickens are safely out of their house in the mornings if I am away from home. It works extremely well. Good field of view and the audio is useful as well. Have not connected solar panel yet as it advised against charging in very cold weather. The motion alerts are very good and have not had false alarms yet. It ignores the chickens but will alert if it sees human activity, WIFI reception seems good and it is great for night vision, no more white out reflections in the windows if using a camera inside looking out. Battery is at 50% after a couple of months. Can’t fault this camera so far.

These cameras generally work quite well, certainly given the cost.
They are well made and to me are actually smaller than they look in the pictures, which is better in my opinion. Obviously, they are WiFi so cannot be too far from your router but with a direct line of sight to the router, I have one working quite well at around 30 metres. You must check that your router has the 2.4ghz frequency. AC WiFi or 5ghz frequency will not work. Most recent issue routers have both.
The picture is good in daylight but not as good in night vision mode, but still good enough to see what is to see upto around 20metres from the camera.
I would recommend selecting a fixed IP address /DHCP for the camera on your router. I found there is less lag in communication with the camera. Occasionally I have had to attempt more than once to connect to the camera through the software on my phone, but I suspect lag or delay is an issue with most brands of WiFi motion detection cameras as they effectively start from sleep mode when activated.
I haven’t tried the cloud service yet. I have inserted SD cards and set video to 20 seconds. This works well and you can also record live in the phone app.
Solar. This works very well and on sunny days fully charges. However, keeping batteries at full charge is not good for the lifespan of batteries according to the cameras booklet so I’ve found I then disconnect the solar. The risk then is that the solar USB plug rusts. There is nowhere to store it, so you have to somehow protect it and coil out of the way.
Unless you are placing the camera at high level and it isn’t worth the risk of climbing, in hindsight, I would have purchased the standard rechargeable camera, to then simply recharge manually occasionally..
One improvement the manufacturer should make is to use stainless steel in the bracket parts. These rust very quickly. I have applied some silicone grease to them for protection.
Overall, I’m happy with my purchase, and considering cost compared to others, reviews on performance are similar if not better.

Never had one of these before, so:
The good – pretty decent picture quality in the daytime. “Pings” to the phone are reasonably quick, if you’re on the same wifi. Solar panel makes it totally “set and forget” and I’ve never got close to 3/4 battery even in winter.
The not-so-good – the range from the wifi hub seemed limited to about 4-5m through a window. The fixture doesn’t really tighten enough and so has needed reset after high winds. Seems to be a magnet for spiders, and webs across the cameras field mean ir detection after dark stops working (possibly it means the unit can only “see” as far as the web reflecting ir?). Also, cold and frosty weather means it’s touch-and-go whether it will trigger, possibly frost on the lenses? Trying to enclose it means you’re back to the problem of ir bouncing off whatever (clear!) surface is in front of the camera instead of seeing through it.
The bad – I’ve not got it work as a remote way to see what’s going on at the house if I’m away, but suspect I might have my phone set only to do certain things over wifi instead of data. I don’t have a yearning to ask children in the garden “is it fun?” as the various types of these cameras all seem to have in their blurb, so perhaps I’m not the target audience for that anyway.

I’ve had this camera up since October and generally it’s performed really, really well. The solar panel has kept the battery charged until now…which is better than I thought given the lack of sun at this time of the year. What let’s it down a bit is that the metal parts rust very easily. I’ve had to take it down to recharge the battery for the first time and they have rusted away quite badly. Shame really, because as far as the camera goes, I really like it…but although its not an expensive camera, at this price it’s not too much to expect stainless steel fixings. Anyone thinking of purchasing one, slap some grease on the ball joints when you put it up and it will be fine.

I have used wire cameras and wireless cameras but all have installation drawbacks. Most wireless cameras still need a power supply involving a cable,
This is the perfect solution ! A wireless camera complete with solar panel that can be installed on a wall or a pole and just left there to do it’s job.
The solar panel powers the camera battery and has not gone below 80% since I bought it – even in dull weather. The app that goes with it is brilliant and the picture quality excellent.
It was a bonus for me that it has a speaker and microphone so I could talk to anyone passing – and I knew when they were passing because the app pings my phone and sends me a photo with the option of going to live video. This little beauty does everything I need and the quality is second to none

My camera is situated about 70 feet from my house but I get a great 90% WiFi signal from it. The battery indicator is always on full despite poor light some days thanks to the solar panel. The only downsides with this so far is not being able to block out sensor pick up zones. The other downside is not being able to link it to my Echo Show. Otherwise very pleased so far.

bought this as an alternative to hard-wired cameras. I wanted to put this at the bottom of my garden to look over the sheds and back up to the house. That’s about 15m away from the house but the camera is that good is STILL picks up the wifi from the house. The battery in the camera is clearly large and long lasting, and the solar panel appears to work well. We are well into winter now, and I’m still seeing very strong battery levels, consistent alerts due to motion detection, i can always connect to it when i want and everything still works as it did on day one. For the money, I have found these cameras to be by far the best I’ve tried so far and i can highly recommend them. The app used to access/mange them is also very good, has fairly regular updates and camera firmware updates so thats good. Night vision is great, and it can pick up people/cats via motion detection fairly well but the sensitivity is adjustable. All in all, great solar powered camera, very happy with it.

After reading many reviews, courtesy of Amazon, I chose this camera as it had a rechargeable battery, and comes with a solar panel all at a fair price- so no need to find a suitable exterior fixing point. I have both a micro 32GB card installed and paid in advance for a the Cloud sub. I placed the solar panel in what I hope will be a suitable place and left it to charge the in-built battery for half a sunny day before connecting the camera. Fitting it was very easy, and the app works well. I have only given 4 stars for night vision as our garden has no street lights and if no house lights are on it is pitch black. I think an intruder would be picked up, but for any purposes of ID after it may be doubtful. I think that the sellers/makers of this type of kit should be encouraged to be clear about night vision by informing possible clients that the system benefits from some street lighting to be able to pick out the shadowy intruder – nighttime has to be the favourite for a break-in from the back garden. The quality of the daytime screen and motion detection during the day is very good, but I think that the night vision is equally, if not more important than day. I would recommend this camera unit.

I wasn’t expecting much but this is a fantastic camera. It was very easy to set up and the only two important considerations:
    1. Where to site it, it is works on a IR beam to trigger motion detection and takes 1 second to fire up.
    2. Pay attention to the instructions, especially on placement of the solar panel.

The mobile app has enough features to impress (snapshots, live cam, alerts, and an intercom). Everything is timestamped too. It has IR for night vision and shoots in full HD. No subscription needed either, just get a good size SD card for it (I bought 64Gb which is loads).

Had it running for three months now – faultless. Very recommended for the money.

Initially I was ready to return this camera to the vendor. There were problems with recording to the SD card, which were difficult to identify because of quirks with the app. The problem came down to a brand new, out of the box, good quality 128GB SD card. Once replaced with a smaller capacity 8GB card which I pre-formatted on a PC to FAT32 things started working reliably. It is more than likely that the 128GB card is formatted to something other than FAT32, which the camera will not like. The camera has an on-board formatting option, but this may not be enough, or maybe it just struggles with a large capacity card. I tested the 128GB card thoroughly on a PC after removing from the camera and there was a file error on it. I re-formatted using the slow format option (i.e. not quick format) and thoroughly tested, and the card is OK. I may try it again, but right now everything is working well. Another problem which confused things is that while the trial cloud subscription is running, clicking the alert messages always looks for video on the cloud, even when recording to SD card is selected. Once the subscription expires it looks on the SD card as you might expect.
I was concerned that the solar charging panel would struggle to keep the battery charged with the amount of sunlight here in North Wales, but so far so good. The motion detection can be fine tuned to capture the types of event you want to and works well after a little trial and error.
The manufacturer support is first class, and give the impression of being 100% genuine and concerned to resolve any problems. I was ready to send this camera back, but now I can recommend it most strongly.

Had previously a video doorbell – a cheap clone of the well-known v-doorbell. The program that operated it was never satisfactory – and eventually, uninvited, started to show ads as well as the front door. It had to go! Early days on this camera but very promising. Installation instructions a bit brief but in understandable English; installation process – both mechanical fixing and wifi, pretty straightforward. Excellent picture. Saves brief videos on internal card – have not tried cloud save yet. The solar panel seems to keep battery indicator on screen at full – though will have to see what happens with more limited winter sunshine. Downside is that it only works on Android and Apple phones – not on Windows. There are workarounds they say, but not yet tried.

It does all what it is supposed to do. I am impressed with the quality of the footage (particulary in night mode although I do live in a well illuminated street). The solar panel keeps the battery charged up too. The only thing I would mention (and its not a critcism) is the camera is a little larger than what I expected………I suppose I should have checked the measurements more carefully. However, I would have no hesitation in recommending the camera.

This camera is superb, I am very pleased with it. I was having problems with a neighbour damaging a hedge. This camera picks up every time he walks along his side, sends me an alert, and is solar powered so no battery issues and sd card records on loop so no limit on recordings. I use a WiFi range extender and the camera is about 80 yds down my long garden but shows me everything on my mobile phone from anywhere, in the house or away.

Very good totally wireless outdoor security camera. It was straight forward to install on our garage facia and looks very neat. We initially did experience some issues with connecting to the app on my iphone 11, however, it connected seamlessly to my husband’s android mobile having found a useful how to video on Youtube. The quality of the pictures you get both night and day is very clear and motion detection is spot on. The camera batteries so far have charged off of the solar panel. Will be interesting to see if this works as well in less sunshine. Altogether an exceptional security camera for the price. I would buy another one the same

Nice sleek design, simple to set up and use, mounts very well on the wall brackets supplied, just adjust to get the right angle downwards to capture the area required, you have to adjust the motion sensor sensitivity to stop false alerts if people are passing on the public pavement, solar panel works very well, topped up the battery in short period of time, since then battery showing full charge all the time. Image quality good better still if you use PC/Laptop rather than phone night vision clear & bright, time scale on recording adjustable to view times, alert messages instant to warn on phone, good product would recommend, Iam buying a second one for my property.

What an excellent camera I love everything about it. I was sceptical about the solar panel charging the battery but its excellent the battery has only dropped to 76% then charged back up to 100% . The battery only dropped that low because I was using it a lot setting it up.

The camera is totally wireless so can be installed anywhere as long as you can pick up the wireless internet signal.

The night vision is really good and the PIR motion detection is great. The cloudedge app is really easy to setup and use and I have just ordered another camera as I was so impressed.

I bought two cameras to keep an eye on my house, I have been using it now and they have given me excellent results. Good image day and night, friendly application on the mobile, it triggers alarms if it detects movement (configurable), it has a motion tracking function, and you can share the video from the cameras with several people (you decide who and which cameras to share as well as the level of authority they will have to adjust the cameras). It has a two-way communication system where you always hear what’s going on near the camera and you can send messages using the mobile app. For me the setup was easy, I haven’t had a single problem. If you are looking for a good value and easy to use camera this is a very good option. I haven’t used the recording option, I haven’t needed it.

Overall, I think the camera and accessories are very good considering the price. The battery charge level is displayed in the app so you can recharge it in time and the battery actually lasts a very long time. The night vision is also very good. I tested it in the basement with almost no light and bikes etc are all very easy to see. Sound is also transmitted and you have the ability to talk “back” through the built in speaker in the camera. The delay is minimal. The reception is also fine.

Excellent value for the price of the product. Highly recommended.

We decided to get this camera and solar panel after reading reviews as our previous one had stopped working. Was easy to download app and set up, was quite surprised how clear the picture was on my phone when looking at camera. You have a large scale of motion detection on app from 1 to 10 , on my previous one it was just high of low . I get notifications a lot quicker now than I did on my old one. Very happy so far with this camera.

Great camera, no need to drill holes or run wires, as long as you have the sun. Fantastic Hd quality video compared to scart system I have. The only downside is wind blowing the trees does trigger motion detection which gets a little annoying on mobile alerts but this can be turned off. It would be nice if you could delay the motion detection for a couple of hours when working next to the camera, although you can set motion detect schedules which is useful. It doesn’t appear to work with Alexa but am not bothered now! Probably good to check you have a WiFi signal where you want to install firs

After reading many reviews for outdoor cameras, I decided on this model with the solar panel for charging. Installation is very simple – three screws for the camera and three for the solar panel. The app is simple to use and using the QR code on the camera makes connecting a doddle.

The solar panel needs a decent amount of light to keep the battery topped up – we get sun in the afternoon for around 5 hours which seems to keep the battery at around 65-75%. There’s nothing to stop you topping it up with a portable charger though.

The microphone picks up a lot of sound and the speaker is OK but a bit distorted on full; you can turn down the volume to reduce that though.

Picture-wise, it’s decent but the frame rate is a bit slow. It also takes 3-4 seconds to get going, so when reviewing the footage someone will just appear. As long as they hang around long enough you’ll catch them though. Night vision is very good, and the camera switches between day and night vision very well.

I bought a heavy duty memory card, which the camera offered to format for me on insertion. A month’s motion detection recording had only used up 7GB – and it records perhaps 10 x 30 second recordings per day (a lot more if we hang washing out to dry).

Overall it’s an easy camera to set up and use, particularly if you don’t have a power supply nearby but do have plenty of sunlight. I’m now considering another to cover another section of my property.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersWell, the quality of the camera cannot be faulted. It was also easy to setup with the app. Day and Night vision are both excellent and if you at least follow the instructions about placement then you’ll have no problems with detection. The camera manual says it will only record when it recognises a human and for the most part, this is true. Its only picked up my cat once so far and its picked me up 100% of the time.

    The annoyances…
The app. I mean it works, it looks nice and its quick. But it does feel a bit muddled. Stuff just needs to be more streamlined.

The fittings. The camera mount is supplied with 6mm wall plugs. I drilled the right size hole, and screwed the screws in. The screws are much too short and didn’t actually get deep enough to bit into the plugs. So they just span around in the hole. Luckily I had some spare 6mm rawl brand plugs which the screws bite into immediately. But if I didn’t have those, it wouldn’t have stayed on the wall. Happily the solar panel fittings look a bit more sensible and I will be fitting that later.

Oh and as per usual, the supplied screws are pure chocolate. I’ve rounded the heads pretty easy putting them in. Thankfully, its in a good place and I shouldn’t need to take it down again.

The mount itself is a little fiddly to get pointing right and also tightened enough to stop it moving. I resorted to a pair of plyers for a bit more leverage.

The best thing about this camera is that you dont need any cables/wiring to install it. Just charge it with provided USB cable and mount it either with screws provided, or in my case I used two-sided strong adhesive tape. Even though it is outside my property, I have no problems regarding WiFi connectivity, as the camera has 2 antennas to strengthen the signal. The photo/video quality is very detailed (you can change between SD or HD). It can keep short snaps on its internal memory, or you can purchase a MicroSD memory card for longer video recordings.
Battery will last you weeks before you need to recharge it again (obviously, depending on how often the motion detection gets trigerred). A great purchase overall!

So the camera is supposed to last 6 months without charge. It has been running for a week and it now has 14 % battery remaining. The camera is mounted 3 meters from the router and never records more than 50% WiFi signal strength. Very disappointed.

    Update: 18th June 2021:
The camera performance did not improve. Their customer service is great and they offered a full refund. For this reason, I gave them a 4 star.

This is a shame as the hardware looks OK. They need a quick firmware update to resolve connectivity and battery issues.

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersI have 4 other ieGeek cameras in operation around the property so when looking for an autonomous camera for the garden I knew that this would have the same clear HD definition of my other cameras together with easy setup and a user friendly app – and I wasn’t disappointed!

The camera comes well packed with protective film over the lens, and has a solid feel to it. I charged it up overnight, there is a charge indicator which goes from red to blue when fully charged. Incidentally I also tried charging this with a powerbank in anticipation of recharging it remotely which works well, as typically these are installed where there is no power source available. The charge point is inside a rubber seal on the bottom of the camera and is recharged with a supplied micro usb lead.

I popped in a high endurance micro SD card and turned it on, having already downloaded the app on my android phone. Pairing steps are very clear and straightforward, and the camera was operational a couple of minutes later. The mount is sturdy and mine is actually mounted on the side of a tree in the back garden looking back at the rear of the property. It is about 25-30 metres from the wifi source but still maintains a 68-70% signal strength with clear HD. I also downloaded the iOS app for my iPad and the camera was immediately recognised as soon as I logged in to the app. I would prefer one app for all ieGeek cameras but recognise that with differences in software between older and newer cameras this is not always possible, so I simply placed this app next to my existing app on both my devices so I can easily click on either or both.

Navigating the app is very straightforward, with clear functions within the settings menu, and day to day use tap icons for live view, history of recordings, record button for manual record, and screenshot. In fact if you are downloading recordings from the SD card you simply access the recordings on the camera summary screen of the app (which would list all the cameras installed if you had more than one) by clicking on the recordings icon and you then get a pictorial view of all the recordings together with date and time. You can then select to send by WhatsApp, email etc. depending on what platforms you are using on your device.

Camera has been running for a few days now and a feature I really like is the humanoid detection that all ieGeek cameras now have. There are a few bushes in the picture frame which blow in the wind and would ordinarily trigger the motion detect and record function and drain the battery. However this camera simply ignores them unless it detects human form which greatly reduces erroneous recordings and preserves the battery life.

There is also a microphone and speaker installed on the camera. I was lying in bed the other morning listening to crystal clear bird song over the app – I haven’t tried the speaker function yet – that would have freaked the birds! – but imagine it would be just as clear if this is a function you would use.

I’m very happy with the ease of operation of the camera and the clarity of the image, and particularly like the autonomy of the unit – you can simply put it wherever you like within wifi range!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersExtremely easy to connect and configure to wifi and very easy to install – the Wi-Fi range is very good for size of the camera. Installing and mounting the camera is very simple with the removable pivot arm – but be careful not to place undue pressure on the camera when attached to the arm as the securing nut is only press fitted into the rear of the camera.
The night vision is again very good for the price and movement detection needs to be setup once fitted via app as it is very sensitive. The camera uses CloudEdge app which allows for 4 cameras to be displayed at once for no extra cost.

An excellent camera that can be placed virtually anywhere.

I have about 10 iegeek cameras in various locations around work/home but so far have all been mains powered and has at times proved difficult to find a near by power source however using this battery operated camera along with the new app software it is now even easier to get set up in a matter of minutes. Really good instructions included. If I was to have one gripe it would be that it doesn’t come with a micro sd card but other than that it gives me clear, instant footage where ever I am. Would definitely recommend and I will be buying more

I have purchased ieGeek IP cameras before for use with my Synology NAS built in IP camera surveillance system and have been pleased with their high definition image quality. I wanted to view the foxes in the garden but I could not use these because I do not have a nearby 240VAC supply and I was not sure where the best place was to place a camera.

That is the reason I bought this camera because it is self-contained and there is no cabling needed to be connected to the camera. For its power, the camera has a built-in 10,400 mAH battery, which, when fully charged by a standard Micro-B USB phone charger, is supposed to last about 4 months. This unit came with a 3W solar panel, which is used to trickle charge the camera’s battery during the day and so hopefully it will maintain power for longer than 4 months. Because it is new I cannot say how long the charge will last but up to now the power level, as seen in the CloudEdge app, has remained at 100%.

Download the CloudEdge app to your phone, create an account and go through the settings in this app. When prompted: power on the camera, press reset to clear out all internal camera settings then point it at the QR Code displayed by the CloudEdge app on your phone. This will transfer the network settings into the camera and you are ready to go. The app also detected that my camera’s firmware needed to be updated and it auto downloaded and installed the update, which was seamless.

The camera has 2 WiFi aerials as opposed to the usual 1, which is supposed to give 4dB better signal strength to allow placing the camera further away from the router. My signal strength, as seen in the CloudEdge app is showing 70%.

To conserve battery power, the camera does not continuously record all of the time and it only records on to an inserted micro SD card (not supplied) when it detects motion using its built-in PIR sensor. The app has settings to configure the detection level so you can adjust it to ignore such as small animals. I inserted a 128G micro SD card into the camera for it to record triggered movement events for viewing later using the app. The camera has a built in microphone and speaker and using the app you can listen and speak to the person at the camera, which is quite loud and is a useful security feature.

All of the camera’s operation, information, viewing real-time or viewing saved recordings on the SD card and communicating are done on my mobile phone using the CloudEdge app. When viewing live or recordings the video quality is an impressive high definition 1920 x 1080 full colour and the night time viewing, using its built-in IR LEDs for illumination, is very impressive even though it has to be in black and white.

In Alexa I enabled the CloudEdge skill and kept trying to see the camera by saying ‘Alexa, show camera1’. This did not work then I realised that this may have been due to Alexa interpreting ‘camera1’ as ‘cameraone’, which it could not find. Using the app I changed the camera’s name to ‘gardencam’ and when I tried ‘Alex, show gardencam’ it worked fine. The real-time picture came up on Alexa’s screen. Remember that watching for a long time in real-time will gradually drain the camera’s battery.

For the purpose I bought the camera, to look at wildlife, I am highly delighted and can recommend this camera and as a bonus it can be easily positioned where you want, providing you are in range of your WiFi router.

I got this camera specifically for the solar charging aspect. I have a feeding station for wildlife at the bottom of my garden, and I wanted a camera that I could live view, that would also record and wouldn’t need any kind of cable running down to it. It performs the job admirably.

Firstly, the solar panel. Its stand is great, and allows you to tilt the panel to the correct angle. There’s no proprietary plug on the other end of the cable, which is plenty long enough, just a standard micro USB adapter. It’s useful to know I could use a portable battery pack to charge the camera if necessary, with a cable from my phone. I haven’t had to yet, though. The charge rate does drop on cloudy days, but that’s the nature of solar charging. The internal battery ensures that it keeps recording even if it’s dull out.

The video camera itself seems sturdy. Some of these kinds of units seem flimsy, but this one has held up just fine, despite the Welsh weather.

Video quality is great, both on live view and from the history. Because the quality is so good, there’s occasionally some buffering when I view the live feed. This is due to the WiFi signal, not the camera. I love the fact that the camera will continue recording for up to 30 seconds after motion is detected, even if the animal stays still.

Night mode vision is excellent too. The camera picked up my neighbours dog roaming around the garden at 1am, about 40 yards away from the camera. I was able to tell which of her dogs it was, too, rather than it just being a blur. Little critters at the feeding station show up really well too.

The app allows for formatting the sd card, and adding the camera to the app was very simple.

It’s been a few years since I bought an external camera, and I wasn’t expecting too much. This unit has completely changed my expectations, and I’m going to buy a couple more.

For the price of these, they are fantastic. We have the solar power version, so completely wireless. Very easy to install and set up.
My only concern is the Cloudedge system that runs them…..it’s glitchy and the customer service is worse than the worst……shame there are no other options and feel the Cloudedge platform lets the cameras down.

The app ( Cloudedge) does not have zones so you are somewhat limited how you can position the camera at the front of an urban house. I had a lot of problems trying to get the right settings to only get alerts that were useful. It turned out to be a rose bush blowing in a high wind setting off the alerts when there was no other movement. (so the Human detecting AI could be better) but after cutting some of the wilder parts of the bush down it seems ok. Still a bit slow to react – alert arrives at my phone just after the door bell has rung out. Overall pretty decent, but quite time consuming to get it set up properly.

Great product – good value for money. You need to check carefully where you are going to place your camera before purchase – I couldn’t get the solar panel in a place, that reached the camera and got sufficient south facing sun. Without that, the battery discharged quite quickly.

I already had an outdoor security camera covering my back garden and wanted another to cover the front. I saw that IeGeek sold a similar model with which I had been very impressed but with the extra of a solar panel (so the battery would not need re-charging every 2-3 months) for a few pounds more and so decided to buy it. I must say I am impressed by the quality of the picture in HD mode and the night vision is also very good. It is very easy to install and works well with the CloudEdge App which sends out movement alerts to your mobile phone or iPad without any ongoing costs, though you do need a micro SD card. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Excellent quality security camera with solar charging.

This is a really good wireless camera that is easy to setup and provides a nice clear image. The battery life so far has been really good (I keep checking the live feed like a kid with a new toy!) and this will improve 100% once I’ve added the solar panel that comes with it, which will keep the batteries charged 365 days a year. The setup process was straightforward and the App is easy to navigate, so configuring the camera is nice and quick. My favourite aspect is the wireless feature as I could install it myself with a few screws, rather than paying a security company 100’s to achieve the same thing. I will certainly consider at least one more ieGeek camera for another location.

After sending back the company reached out to me after reading my review. They advised the WiFi component seemed like it was faulty and arranged a new one to be sent out. They were very helpful once we spoke and accommodating.

The second camera now works better, I am able to connect without an issues, so far. There is an issue with sometimes not picking up human motion even though its on the highest setting, but there are some steps iegeek have advised to do which may resolve this. I will give this ago. Michi at iegeek was very helpful.

If you have an issue with the app don’t use the contact details in the box for cloudedge, contact iegeek.

Camera works for a couple of hours then the App (cloud edge) seems to loose all connection to the WiFi and wont load anything. The 2.4ghz WiFi has been tested against multiple devices and the network is absolutely fine, no issues.

This has happened on the first two occasions of using the camera now. The way I got it working the first time was to remove the device from the app and reinstall it from scratch. Connecting to the exact same WiFi that works on other devices and was previously working on this camera and then it seems to come alive again. Not want you want to be doing every couple hours.

Tried contacting the seller but no response. Will be sending this back. A shame as the the actual camera seems liked it might have worked well but it’s no good if it can’t be accessed or monitored. Waste of money

This is the second iegeek camera I have purchased , nice solid build quality, completely weather sealed , picture quality is excellent, covers the whole of my back garden which is pretty big and the night vision is very good , motion detection is great , I get an alert on my phone if the camera detects movement and it also records if you have a memory card inside , I’ve had one of these cameras for just under a year and the battery last ages on that one , love the fact that it’s completely wireless and charges from the solar panel , great security camera

    Excellent all round security camera

What’s not to like? Sets up in a couple of minutes after being fully charged (download app, connect app to internet, point phone at camera which reads the generated QR code – done). Drill a few holes in a wall and your up and running.

Excellent field of vision and motion sensing. Good range of recording options and easy playback of recorded snippets – and you can set how long you want each recording. Good audio both into and out of the camera. Night vision is B&W however I have a motion activated LED light, which as it is in the same area is activated at the same time as the camera – which basically has the camera recording in full colour 24/7.

The solar panel just plugs under the camera through a waterproof cover, and even in dull weather keeps the system topped up and running nicely. Only thing is to be careful of notifications if your area is busy, but they can be set to off/on very quickly and the historical recordings deleted with a few clicks when not wanted. Really glad I got this

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAn excellent solution to covering all the security required around the home to give us peace of mind. This was my choice after looking for quite some time. I decided to buy the option with the solar panels and now own 5 of these which are all running on the mobile app. This turned out very well as the panels keep the batteries fully charged even in the UK where the weather is not always sunny, however, with a small amount of sun these keep the cameras in full charge by getting at most only half a day of sun once a week. Note, that you need to place the panels in a convenient sunny orientation in order to collect the charge for the cameras. They are fully waterproof and operate in all types of weather even after the fierce winds that we have been having here of late.
The cameras are run off the app on mobile and can be used to see and record any footage captured. The cameras also pick up motion in day and nighttime situations.
I can highly recommend these cameras to anyone who is looking to get security installed. The means of installation is also so easy because no cables are required (except from your solar panel to camera), however, you should check your WiFi as this needs a fair signal to operate back to your phone app. Our WiFi is pretty good and gets us out to the garage without a problem.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersMy first impressions of this product are very positive. Solid construction, good mounts and sturdy feel. The packaging often gives you the indicator of what to expect and this was also nicely put together. I tried another more well known brand before this but ended up sending it back. The night vision with this is much better, as is the breadth of view. Motion detection in daylight is spot on and very quick to alert. At night it has a slight delay but I think that is caused by my security light causing the night vision to flip from using the IR sensor. I am still tweaking the settings for this because I’d like to capture the foxes and badgers activity if possible. The battery still shows as 100% even after probably 30-ish triggers, several live views and various changes so I am hopeful that it will last for months. The solar panel will help with that too. The app is pretty good with only a brief delay in connecting to the camera for viewing purposes. I had a small problem with the firmware update at the start where the process appeared to freeze half way through but clicking back to the previous screen and then tapping the update button again and it went through just fine. A decent user guide too. Initial charging of the internal battery took about 3.5 hours, until the blue light came on, so shorter than expected. I have no hesitation in recommending it at this stage and will update this review after a period of use.

Great Camera, so easy to set up it was done within 5 minutes. Picture quality is amazing too. Only down side was the sensor to pickup movement was not triggering at the distance we needed it to which was about 6-7m away where our car is parked overnight. Moved the camera closer in the end and worked fine. Camera is now about 5m from the house and where the WiFi is but picking up excellent connection. Showing 84% WiFi connection so could be moved even further from house if needed.
Only had the camera for one week ace noticed that sometime when you look at live camera footage it’s in black n white then after a few seconds turns to colour. Over all so far we are very happy with this camera.

Great camera. Works fantastic with the doorbell on the same app.
However the best thing is the solar power. I’ve installed it pretty high and it would be annoying to climb, detach and charge it, but since connected with batteries as low as 30% it fully charged itself and stays at 100% despite not the best weather recently.

I received my Camera Friday 5th March unpacked it and everything was in the box as per advertised.
So after taking everything out of the box i charged the camera up via the Usb Cable that is provided.
I’ve been testing the camera on LIVE for the last 3 days with just the battery for 2-3hours a day and the battery hasn’t even depleted at all very impressed with the footage as well for the Night Vision yet to put outside and yet to test the solar panel but everything is looking good. The interface for the App is very easy to use and setup and was connected to my Wireless network with hassle free install i will be looking to getting a 2nd one in the future…

    Very Impressed

The ieGeek outdoor security camera was easily installed (6 drilled holes into the wall – 3 for the camera bracket, 3 for the solar panel bracket). The wifi signal works fine as the camera is within 10 metres away. App is easy to use and our separately bought SD card works as expected (the camera formats it when you install it). The camera can miss very quick movements but once triggered it still records whatever follows. Both day and night imaging is clear. The feeling of security is there despite it not being a full CCTV system and the added bonus is the relatively cheaper outlay.

This was my second iegeek camera.

The first one was fine but needed recharging because of the high level of activity where it was located

I bought this one with the solar panel charger so as to not have that fuss.

It was easy to install and worked straight out of the box.

I have a number of the ieGeek cameras without solar power and have found them to be excellent. The only thing that I hated was that you had to drill holes through walls to run the power cable through to a power socket. So I was delighted when I found they do this solar powered version as I needed to add a couple more cameras to my home security system.

The setup is straight forward; download an app and link the camera to your network (don’t forget to add an SD card which isn’t supplied but can be purchased cheaply enough).

The picture quality is excellent, both during daylight and with the nightvision mode.

The solar panel is awesome, meaning no longer a need to run any cables at all. The connection is WIFI (so network cable needed) and the solar panel simply plugs into the camera and provides all the power (so no power cable needed).

I haven’t attached it in position yet (due to a illness I’ve not been able to get up a ladder) but I’ve had it sitting in the bedroom window pointing out and it’s been charging perfectly well for the last three weeks.

    I definitely recommend this camera.

    Great value camera.
    – The solar panel manages to catch up even in the winter, so I don’t need to charge the camera myself.
    – Picture quality is great both night and day.
    – The black colour makes this camera less visible than if it was white, which I like.
    – Local storage, no monthly fees. You can still pay for cloud if you want though (even though I don’t see why you would).
    – Setup was easy both in the app and while attaching the camera to the wall. Not having to run electricity wires is a big plus for me.
    – The CloudEdge app is good overall. Not perfect, it has glitches now and then, but good overall. One feature I like is that it supports cameras from multiple manufacturers, e.g. ieGeek, Ctronics, Cooau, etc.
    – Human-only detection is a nice feature, prevents false alerts from cats and foxes.
    – Feels sturdy and well made overall.

    However:
    – Motion detection distance is not big. The description on Amazon says 20m, even though the handbook says 8m, and I can confirm the handbook is right in this case. He camera struggles to detect me if I am more than two Vauxhall Corsas away (8m).
    – Some suggestions for features include: activity zones, and the ability to record without sending me a notification (I know the latter is doable but I would have to disable all CloudEdge notifications as I can’t do it per camera).

Great camera but motion detection could be bette

I’ve bought a few Igeek cameras over the years and this camera is the best yet.
I bought this as I needed a camera that didn’t need mains power as I’ve got no power in the garage and fitted the solar panel on the garage roof which was very easy to do. It comes with fixing and a bracket so it can be fixed and adjusted to any direction. I’ve had the camera over a week now and I had a slight problem recording the first evening so I contacted the customer services and they replied within 5hrs and told me how to sort it so 5 star customer services.
This camera is better than my older wired versions as the WiFi receiver is a lot stronger and picks up the signal at the back of the house now which the older cameras didn’t.
The battery and solar panel work great as the battery hasn’t dropped from 100% yet.
The sensor on the camera has been upgraded from the older cameras as it doesn’t pick up birds and flies and doesn’t set off the alarm notification every few mins which was very annoying. The battery is built into the camera and needs a big charge before first use. Think it was 6 hours!
I would 100% recommend this camera to everyone.

    Great solar WiFi camera

Bought to catch the fox on camera and it worked!

Great quality camera. 2MP is OK, file size of each 1min clip isn’t very big so can store lots of video on a 32 or 64gb micro SD card. very happy with connection to WiFi, and battery life. I charged fully to 100% inside the house before setting up outside without solar panel. Its been outside for 1 week and even though I keep look at footage and live video, the battery is still 83%. Will plug the solar panel in for the brighter weather but I’m happy just bringing inside to charge up every 2 or 3 weeks for a few hours.

I’ve previously had two of these cameras and this additional purchase is to replace one of those cameras because it developed faults. The initial fault was the camera would not automatically switch to infrared during the hours of darkness. I had to go into settings and do it manually. Additionally the camera was very hit and miss giving alerts to my phone via the app when it detected movement near my property. I thought I would just replace the camera and give ieGeek a second chance as any product can develop faults.

This camera was easy to set up using the app – you just had to scan a QR code in the manual and it took care of itself. Having the screw (which fits a normal tripod screw) in the back seemed strange but it does allow the camera to be mounted almost flush to look along a wall. not needing power meant it could be fitted really quickly. The included solar panel seems to be made of quality material and has a good length of wire to be mounted where it will get the most sun.
We get delivery drivers coming through the garden so having a camera that could be placed where there is no power means I get notifications whenever anyone walks past the camera. I tested the motion detection on the bird table and something as small as a starling got its picture taken so am happy with that. It needs an SD card to record video but once that was fitted a pigeon triggered it almost straightaway. footage went straight to my phone. Nice pieve of portable hardware for less than a smart doorbell – very happy

I have two of these cameras. One is abroad and I get good updates from UK. Good day image. Night image has 4 infrared as seen in picture and works black and white. Motiin detection works well and can be scheduled. It is sturdy and well built. It have used solar panels before and they trickle charge so make sure battery is full before installing. Both camera and panel have good fixings. App is easy to use and connection was easy if you follow instructions.

Prior to buying this camera, I had 4 other iegeek cameras 1080p powered by mains. These were a little fiddly to fit and supply power.

This camera was very simple to fit and with the solar power I have had no issues setting it up. Once opened I put the camera on charge to give it its initial full power. I then left it in my house, after s few days it had dropped a bar (lots of movements and recordings). I then connected it as the pictures shown, the next day I checked the bakery charge on the device and it was full. The solar power was in operation and working effectively. This means I’m able to put this a little higher and out of reach, as it will be self sufficient.

First things to note is you need a micro USB, I had a 32gb spare so this was added. Giving adequate space for recording and triggers.

For my other cameras I have used camHi, which with continued recording I never had a problem. I turned off the alarm triggers and just had full recording. This camera along with the video doorbell records a brief video when triggered and also takes some photos. This is where the functionality is aimed at battery consumption. I have this aimed over my back garden, and the doorbell at the front. This alerts me to any activities. This along with my other cameras give me a very good view of my property.

Image quality is as expected with iegeek products, providing clear and quality images. Night vision is improved on the previous models is very reactive to changes in light, natural or floodlight.

WiFi connection and setup was very simple with the cloud edge app, power on, reset button and connect to the device, it then shares the WiFi and it was all go from there. It its currently location approx 8m from the router I have a signal of 80%. So have no concerns.

Camera is waterproof and well sealed, fixed designs are a bit fiddly with screwing in wall bracket, this was so much easier to use, bracket first and then screwing in. Underside of the camera has a rubber section housing the sd card and power input. Cleverly hidden once connected to the solar panel. The solar panel is lightweight and by angling it at 45 degrees allows for surface run off. Currently have it under the camera but with the 3m of cable fell I will put it in a more efficient space.

The device has 2 way audio, which with the camera being lower worked well with testing and quality is great. However as I will probably put this higher it will not work for me.

One thing to add is the device is very well made, I can tell from the sturdiness it will last the harsh weather of the UK. Motion detection worked effectively for the area I have aimed it at. I cannot work out if I can set zones as that would be more beneficial, but I have set it to high and it works well.

Very happy with this camera, the added freedom to be able to power with solar means I can put it out of reach to my other cameras and not have to worry about it. I might however hide it on my summer house as i think it will be ideal, especially as I won’t need to worry about powering it. I might catch a few images of the foxes that frequent my garden.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersPurchased this camera as I needed something that I could position outside with minimal maintenance and this certainly the best solution.

The instructions to set up the camera are very easy to follow and was very simple. Load the cloudedge app, click add camera and then follow the instructions on screen which involves adding your Wi-Fi details and adding the camera by scanning a QR code the app generates. This only took a couple of minutes and it was all set up.

The camera comes with separate mounts and fixings for both the camera and the solar panel including a 3-metre cable which means that you can mount the solar panel in a better position if needed to capture the light. Mine is secured high in a tree with the camera lower down for a better position which captures the back garden/garage, even in the dark I can see the picture clearly (the garden is approx. 50 ft which is a good range.

I have noticed with the solar panel is that it takes a bit of time to kick in but once it does keep the charge topped up so you can leave it and forget about it. You can tell the charge is working as the LED near the USB port lights up blue.

So far both parts working as expected even with lots of rainfall which runs right off the panel. I have this set up so I receive an alert to my phone if the motion detection is triggered which works great, since I have installed its mainly been neighbours cats and a curious bird but reassuring to know it works.

Great piece of kit that you can put up and forget about that essentially self-charges. Would highly recommend.

I have only had it a week so cannot comment on how long it lasts (pity Amazon don’t ask after 6 months/year)
Pros: Nicely built camera and the solar charging is very good. Even in January with no sun it charged from half to full in about 3 hours.
Cons: You can only view from the Cloudedge app. You can’t connect it to any other monitoring apps (Tinycam etc.) so I can’t have it display along side my other cameras. Also can only use Cloudedge for cloud storage. So if Cloudedge stops working – you are stuffed.
I know it is advertised as a security camera but I wanted to use it for monitoring bird boxes/feeders etc. It has a very wide angle lens so I cannot get it close enough to see small birds properly.

The picture quality is great and the motion dection has already picked intruders coming up the drive who we were able to report to the police with there images. Just to remember to format memory card first in the camera. Also the battery does last a long time but you won’t get a year out of it as stated with the solar panel. But good cam and easy set up.

After weeks of research, decided that this was the cctv camera for me to cover the front of my house. I didn’t want to drill a hole right through my brickwork to have a permanently wired camera for various reasons especially if I wanted to move the camera at a later date. This proved the right thing to do…
Arrived within 72 hours of ordering. Out of the box, the camera is smaller than expected but in a good way, and quality is good, not plasticky. Charged overnight, installed 128gb micro SD card and set up on the downloaded app, all very easy to do.
Up on my ladder, held the camera and viewed the image and wifi signal strength on my phone to check positioning. I replaced the enclosed rawl plugs and screws for sturdier an longer ones. Once camera positioned, then installed the solar panel, again, using uprated screws and rawl-plugs than those supplied. Tidied the excess cable from the solar panel and cable-tied it to the bracket to give a neat finish. All straight forward but it helps having somebody down the ladder checking camera positioning and neatness of cables etc. from the ground.
After a couple of days, found that the motion detection lag meant the camera was mainly recording the back of visitors as they were leaving and not approaching the property. Also, due to the positioning of my router and thickness of walls I had only about 50% wifi signal strength. Doing research, found that lower power cameras (such as this battery powered one) have a tendency to have detection lag. So, decided to position the camera nearer to my front door and therefore router, even though this meant the angle of coverage wasn’t as good as I wanted but still covered all the areas I needed it to.
So, on Christmas Eve, up the ladder I went, took the camera and solar panel down and re-installed it, again using upgraded plugs and screws. At this point I was glad I hadn’t had to drill through an external wall! It was when I installed the solar panel again that the plastic rotating nut which tightens the panel to the bracket broke. I’ve tried to show in this in the video. I ended up up having to glue the plastic nut to the screw thread (not the panel itself) to be able to tighten it, I’ll have to replace the nut if I ever move the panel again as it won’t survive another move. Now have improved wifi signal strength (around 75%) and much improved motion detection.
Couple of other points that may be of use:-
You can switch the image quality from SD to HD; you can see from my day and night screen grabs how much clearer HD is but of course uses more battery.
I’ve had to position the camera facing the sun and at times there is noticeable lens flare as the lens-hood on the camera is too small.
When the battery is being charged by the solar panel, there is an indicator on the app that shows this. Even though we’ve had storm Bella and had the shortest day of the year, the camera is still fully 100% charged.
I did contact Amazon about my faulty plastic nut and they were brilliant in resolving this for me over a web-chat.
Overall, really pleased with the whole camera, installation and quality and the way Amazon dealt with the query. 4.5 out of 5 really but hey…it’s Christmas so 5 stars it is!

    Good camera

I have 10 very efficient iegeek cameras in different addresses and needed a wifi camera without the need for mains power.

This camera has excellent clarity both at night and during the day. The menu is easy to use after a little practice and it records very well. The calender gives you a clear record of motion detection on any specific day.
It has an internal battery which appears to be able to last for several months. The solar panel keeps it fully charged even with the poor winter light.
The pir reacts quickly to human motion and records from that moment.

The camera is then let down badly by the Cloudedge operating app. It takes almost 20 seconds to notify you of an alert. You then need live view which can take another 10 seconds to load.

If you need this as an alert for deliveries it is a waste of time as the caller will have left before you can greet them.

In summary. Very good camera if you only want to view past events. The picture quality is better than the earlier cameras but I am not convinced it is worth the extra money.

If they improve the operating app this would get 5 stars.

    Update October 2023

I have decided to contact you to explain in detail why this is the second review of mine which you have refused to publish.
I spent some time on my review, including the selection of screenshots and a video clip as your site suggested.
I took particular care to follow your guidelines. I even was careful to highlight any shortcomings of the product.
I have since taken some time to compare my draft review with others which you HAVE published and I cannot follow the superficial standardised explanation you have given me so far.
Have you some problem with this product or the vendor?
Is there any point in me ever sending you reviews of ANY products in the future?

Golden Review Award: 33 From Our UsersMy initial thoughts on this camera is that it is excellent.
I mounted the camera above front door on wall. Be aware, the fixing screws are not very long and I have very tough bricks – so instead, I drilled the mortar. The camera is quite heavy (a bag of sugar), so make sure the screws secure the mount firmly – you might have to use longer screws. I installed the solar panel on side of house facing due south – in UK, this is the optimal position for solar panel (and try and tilt it to 30 degrees). The USB cable from solar panel to camera is 1.2 metres which was plenty for me to mount camera…see pics – I had to coil excessive wire.
So, how good is it? It’s very easy to set up with Cloudedge app (when you scan the QR code on phone to camera on page 13 of manual it says the camera will make a sound ‘Boogu’ – what it means is ‘beep’ – haha!). Don’t be a bit thickie like me and look for QR code on box – you have to hold the QR code on phone in front of camera…a senior moment…doh!
The wifi signal you can check on ‘installation guide’ in Cloudedge app before you fully install – mine is 74% (good according to app), which is a bit strange as router is less than 10 metres away…but where camera is positioned is two thick walls away…and I didn’t bother tilting the aerials for better reception…it works OK.
I installed a relatively cheap 128GB class 10 Sandisk card in it – cost me less than 13 from a reputable supplier.
It is very good at ‘human’ recognition, I’ve only seen one false trigger at night off a neighbours black cat.
I actually altered the settings for recording (which is not recommended – as battery drain is higher), to record footage for one minute and re-trigger if continuous motion is detected. Power settings – ‘Maximum shooting time – 1 minute’ and ‘shooting interval off’ (this stops the camera from waiting for another default time of 2 mins before re-triggering to conserve battery). But, you can read battery percentage in app (‘basic function’, ‘power management’ in app menu) and mine is still at 100%! – so far, I’ve only seen battery drop to 93% (and that was because I played with it excessively). It re-charged to 100% next day off solar panel. Obviously, if it gets loads of triggers from people approaching house – you might have to change the settings back.
I had doubts that it would work at night – the infra red leds are not lit. However…it triggered when my chinese takeaway delivery driver came to front door last night and recorded him. It seems that the camera can detect human in pitch black and then turn infra red leds on to illuminate area…I checked this myself.
    So the Cloudedge app…
I was reserved about buying this camera, because I am a cheapskate and refuse to pay for any cloud subscription each month.
It turns out, you don’t need the cloud subscription – the app sends notifications to your phone in approx 3 seconds with 2 snapshot pics (when you open Cloudedge notification). You can also view the video footage in ‘history’ tab in app. This is a bit fiddly to set the timeline to view, but once you get the hang of it, not too bad.
The app recommends that you leave it running in background on your phone, to receive alarms…I’m not a fan of any app that drains my phone battery, so I turned it off. Guess what, it doesn’t need to be running in background – it still sends notifications within 3 seconds regardless…and that was on 4G phone network (not wifi).
The video and sound footage is really good.
The intercom feature is also great – hold the intercom button and talk to people on doorstep…works a treat.
The only drawback with this app, is you cannot download video footage to phone memory. You will have to use ‘screen video recording app’ on your phone when playing back recordings to get a recording outside app. I have talked to the seller about this, and they assure me they are introducing this feature soon in app.
I’ve also attached a very short clip of a trigger captured and screened recorded on my phone with GF taking the dogs for walk…as an example of app…sound and video…
Hope this helps for anyone who is thinking of buying this camera. It’s exceeded my expectations so far – guess the proof will be in the pudding long term.
    Phil

    Phil

I bought this after damage was sustained to my house. I wanted something small, easy and unobtrusive. Out of the box, the unit appears well made and weighty. I had the solar panel included as well.
The only concern I had was that the plastic wheel to tighten the unit on the camera ball and socket mount wasn’t really that good, so a simple swap with the metal one for the solar panel did the trick. Not a real issue but avoidable.
I set it up by downloading the App first. My only criticism here is that on my Android, the faint blue on white background made it more difficult than needs be. I only saw.
” register” after looking closely, and I’m no technophobe.
Once registered it was easy to set up by following the prompts.
The camera linked to my WiFi easy enough and without a hub, real time picture was established to get the right position and view. The camera is 20 ft away through thick walls, no issue with the signal at all.
The app itself is good when explored and gives updates via message that the camera has been activated. It has a very good picture, night vision is excellent and the 130 degree view gets everything. Sheerness is very good too.
The SD slot is on the underside, I got 128gb installed and it is well shielded by a rubber access point. This serves as an acces point for the charger too, and is on the underside. Water ingress would be unlikely.
For for the money and quality, I think it hard to beat. Once you get to grips with the app, it’s a doddle.
I’m thinking of getting another for the rear of my house, so says something. Well worth the money.

Golden Review Award: 54 From Our UsersI’ve never done a detailed review of anything on Amazon before, but having bought this camera and been so impressed with it, I thought it deserved a thorough and honest review.

It’s absolutely incredible how technology has moved on – this compact little camera packs in a lot!

I’ve had it up a week to monitor some hedgehogs that visit, and it does a great job at recording their movements at the feeding station – see the videos! It’s mounted very close to the ground, and to the hedgehogs, so the powerful IR light is a little too strong when they get very close, but it does a good job, recording still photos and short video clips of their movements. Using the free CloudEdge app, the still photos are sent immediately to my phone, and the video clips are saved on the SD card and can be viewed and downloaded remotely (they work well on a relatively slow broadband upload speed of only 1mb — no discernible lag or pauses). There is an optional cloud subscription service which I trialled for 7 days where the video clips are automatically uploaded to – worth doing if worried about the camera being tampered with. It worked well.

The camera was really easy to install – good quality mounting kits for both the camera and solar panel, and both allow full flexibility to adjust the angle to point the camera at, or the solar panel to catch the sun at. After 7 days and the recording set to record clips as long as possible (1 minute) with no gaps between alerts, both of which will use more battery, the battery has only gone as low as 95%, but has easily topped up automatically with the solar panel to 100% every day, despite not having sun on some days.

The app is really easy to use, and shows a useful timeline that you can zoom in and out of the markers where recordings have been made to watch the footage recorded. You can set a time schedule for recordings – my only minor gripes are that sometimes when using the timeline to jump to a time where there was a recording, is that it sometimes snaps back to the previous recording and not the one you wanted, so you have to make sure you select closer to the one you want. Also the schedule for recordings won’t allow a single duration that covers from an evening through to the morning – you have to create two time slots, eg: 7pm to midnight, then midnight to 6am.

My main use is night time recording, and it is very effective at that (although I should probably position it a little further away from the area it’s filming – sometimes the hedgehogs touch the camera!). Light levels vary, and you can see the camera automatically adjusting itself when it’s too bright or dim so that the recording always shows something recognisable. At night you don’t get as much detail as during the day, and fast moving objects can be a little blurry, but that’s an issue with any IR camera.

You can select to record in HD or SD – I use HD all the time – with large SD cards, storage space isn’t really a problem, and the level of detail in HD is really good – particularly during the day.

The sound pickup is excellent – it’s very sensitive and seems to pick up things you might even have trouble hearing if you were there in person! I also used the intercom feature to have a full-on conversation with someone – that would be very useful if mounted by a front door.

All in all, this is a superb camera and I am delighted with it – the fact that you don’t have to provide a power source is particularly helpful – as long as it can get a reasonable strength signal from WiFi, and you’re set to monitor your house 24 hours a day, from wherever you may be.

This is my first wireless camera powered from a solar panel. Such a great achievement because there is no need to run any cables.
The quality could be spotted from the first moment. Well packed and easy to open.
The micro SD card installation is very easy. No need to unscrew or to open the camera’s body. The solar panel will be connected to the camera via micro USB. I have charged the camera before the setup using the supplied cable. Easy to configure via Cloud Edge app. The auto setup didn’t worked for me but the manual setup was straight forward. Just need to follow the instruction from the app.

Camera has arrived the same day, Well done!!!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a great family of products. This latest one is definitely an improvement with the addition of a solar panel.

The camera is easy to set up and if you have others it’s easy to see them all withing the app.

The night vision is great and I can clearly see all of my garden regardless of the time of day.

Time will tell with how much the solar panel will help in keeping the unit charged. This will depend on where you install it.

I have other cameras from this company and the battery life has always been amazing with it lasting as long as advertised.

Overall I am very happy with this camera and the service I have received.

A great camera with solar charging.

I already own 3 ieGeek camera’s, a wired one over looking the drive, a wireless on the balcony and an inside camera, all fabulous camera’s.

I was delighted to see this new solar camera and needed another for the garden.

The new camera is perfect, so easy to set up and install, I did it myself in minuets.

I already had the other wireless camera on the cloud edge app, adding the new one was simple, you can also share your camera view, with family or friends, by sharing the scan code in the app.

The camera picture quality is crystal clear, as is the night view.

I’ll never buy another make of camera, as iegeek in my eyes are the best for quality and simplicity. Their customer service, is also 100%

I fully recommend this and all the ieGeek camera’s, so buy with confidence.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI have over the past year purchased 3 product from iegeek. For commercial use on my workshops. They all still work great and perform faultlessly. This one caught my eye because of the benefit of its own power supply via solar panel. This has great benefit for the position of the camera can be anywhere that a power cable will be tricky to attach and run to the camera. I ordered it and it came the next day. The panel is as seen in the pic. About the length of a bic pen. Got a long cable which attaches to the camera. In direct light it fully charged to the unit in approx 7 hours. Now it is charged I would think the power from the solar panel will keep it topped up. The camera comes with its own Swivel bracket and does the solar panel. The app to control everything is called cloud edge. It shows the wi fi strengh and also the battery level of the camera. Setting up is qiuck. Inputting the Internet password. Then scanning the qr code. The whole process takes approx 3mins. When up and running the camera can be accessed and various features like motion detection can be turned on and off. The unit is very portable with me testing it out in the hallway under tungsten lights. And then out the back garden with night vision. The video showed me having a notification. It was very qiuck for me to open the app, load up the screen. And see what the movement was. In this instant as in my video it was my dog out the back. Over all. Another great camera from iegeek. With the benefit of having its own power supply.

This is the third iegeek outside camera that I have purchased the first two being wired and this one their new wireless model with solar panel.
The reason for buying this model was for the convenience of not running any cables to the area I was installing it which is away from the house. It was easy to set up using the Cloudedge App which I have never used before and is simpler to setup than the CamHi App, used with the other iegeek wired models; it would be good if the same app was available for both styles of cameras but not a deal breaker.
The camera is very well built and feels like a good quality product. The picture quality is very good especially when set to HD; the night vision is just as good.
Great value compared to more expensive security systems without the hassle of running cables everywhere, just connect to your wifi router, download the App and you are good to go. I personally didn’t sign up for the Cloud service, I just installed a micro SD card and save any alerts to this.
Great customer service is available from iegeek if you require any advice, they are really quick to respond to any query you might have.

Good Quality and easy of setup

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersWe have been regular users of ieGeek products over the years and have a wired camera over the garage and a battery powered camera overlooking the car. I decided to get a 3rd camera at the back of the house as we once had an intruder wandering around our conservatory.

The camera arrived next day. Installation was simple. I used my own rawl plugs though as they are a little tougher and necessary for my walls. The camera and solar charger were both easy to fit.

I have used the required Cloudedge app before so was familiar with the functions. Adding this extra camera was incredibly simple. I just had to hold a code in front of the camera and it was registered. I can now see both the front and rear camera in one app which is a big bonus. The app is free and notifies me when there has been movement detected. Ive fitted a 32gb memory card to play back short video recordings too.

I’m happy with the video and photo quality and does what I’d expect for the price.

I have installed the solar charger too but as I live up North it will be interesting to see how effective it is. I can only really test this after a few moths of use. My other camera (with no solar charger) has lasted 3 months so far and still hasn’t needed to be charged. I would there expect this to last much longer still.

Overall a great product and whether or not you want the solar charger is up to you, depending upon whether or not you want to take the camera down every few months to charge it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great camera with solar panel
