Cuffie estremamente valide, acquistate a 200.

In general the Jabra Elite 85h are a very competent over ear headphone. They boast many of the features of their more expensive competitors. They are reasonably light and comfortable with a solid feeling build quality, though slightly bulky in comparison to say the Sony or Bose equivalents. Pairing is very simple and the connection I have found to be very stable, experiencing no glitches or drop outs. Connection is automatic to the last paired device as soon as the headphones power on. Powering on the headphones is automatic when the ear cups are turned, which is quite a novel feature and works well. There is no dedicated power switch to turn the unit off completely, Unless I’ve not found one. I see no reason why it would be necessary though.
All controls are via tactile button presses located on the right ear cup. No physical buttons are visible, there is a small central recess that controls stop and play function. Above and below this recess are two little raised pips, long press of either the top or bottom one will forward track or previous track respectively. Single press of each, will incrementally raise or lower Volume. It’s very intuitive and one of the easiest control mechanisms I have used on a wireless device, other than the Jabra earbuds, which have a virtually identical operation.
Sound quality is decent enough, but I wasn’t blown away either. Tinkering with the partner app, I was able to achieve a sound signature I liked, but it still seemed to lack that wow factor you experience from the more premium brands. Whether the difference is enough to justify the extra cost is all subjective though, and the Elite 85h perform very well .
I was not so keen on the fabric outer covering, on the darker colour ways it probably wouldn’t be an issue, but for the lighter colours, I could see this fabric getting grubby from fingers. It feels durable, and was probably an attempt to make them look more premium than just plastic, time will tell.
I feel anyone interested in these would not be disappointed. The ANC is also very good, not class leading, but does an excellent job of cutting out external sound.

An impressive set of earphones; there are a couple of negatives but overall I think they are very good indeed.
My main gripe is that they are aimed almost entirely at the mobile phone user with heavy emphasis on the Bluetooth aspect of the device.
I don’t live through my phone and I don’t listen to music on the move, so I do appreciate that the provision and cable exists to plug the phones into a proper Hi-Fi unit.
For the benefit of the review, I did pair them with my phone; it was an easy process — the devices paired quickly with no fuss; downloading the app (for Android in my case) was straightforward, as was the set-up; their performance with my phone was fine, with good bass and a reasonable range of adjustability using the equaliser — I will test this further at my leisure, but listening to orchestral, big band jazz and piano music I was pleased with the sound.
The ANC seems very effective cutting out the persistent traffic noise I endure at peak times — again, I appreciate that this is probably aimed more at the at the commuter/mobile user, but it worked for me nevertheless.
Plugged into my main CD player the quality of the phones became much easier to assess; they can handle the wide dynamic range I threw at them well; again with full classical orchestral music, opera, jazz of various sorts and pop/electronica.
They are comfortable for extended wear, nicely padded and light enough not to become a burden after an hour or longer.
My other negative – I would have liked an on/off button rather than the novelty of turning the pads for this function. I assume that when using the cable, the power is drawn from my Hi-Fi rather than through battery operation — but no manual is provided (information is online, but an index would have been useful).
Although there is much (in regard to use with a phone or tablet) I haven’t tested, I’ve considered enough (that’s important to me) to conclude that these are excellent for my purposes; should I have reason to update this review I will, but I`m currently very happy with them.

This headset performs as I hoped.
The sound is great and most of all – I like they set the media on pause when I take of the headset, and resume when I put them back on.
The app now works great – forget older reviews that complain about bad app connectivity

Really happy with this one, I also have a Bose so can compare pros and cons. Good things first, excellent sound, superb build quality, look great, really comfortable even with bigger head (62 cm and I have a bit of play left) really smart turning on and off automatically, long battery life, good for calls as you would expect from Jabra. On the downside it has a weird habit to switch to listen through mode on a conf call by default. Really strange! I want to hear what is being said, not the airport noise!! I found you can switch back to noise cancelling in the app but have to do it every time. Hope that will be fixed with future software updates.

These are now with my autistic son who hates a lot of background noise when he is out and about, being a teenager he likes to look “cool” and headphones are way more acceptable than ear defenders.

First thing to say is that they paired seamlessly and quickly with both iOS and Android devices with no problems. I have another pair of similarly priced headphones which will only pair with my iPad and nothing else.

The sound quality is excellent as you would expect …beautiful to listen to music with.

Very comfortable to wear and adjustable for comfort.

My son loves them and they make bus journeys etc bearable for him .

These might be the best sub 200 pound noise cancelling headphones at the moment. They sit well, covering the ears, look smart and seem to cancel noise well almost by 70% on the tube. The sound I think is ok, I have not noticed anything spectacular.
They do feel warm after wearing for a while but I think that is the case with all around the ear headphones unless they have some clever means of ventilating the air – I heard that Bose 700 has that. The battery life of these Jabra cans is good. I normally listen for about an hour on tube every day and they last at least a week if not more before having to charge. They have some clever tricks like when you take them off and twist the earcups, they turn off automatically.
There is no touch swipe for control as is the case with other branded headphones, but this works well too. Sometimes having the physical buttons makes the operation less confusing and also more definite.
All in all, I recommend these if your budget is below 200 and you are mainly after noise cancelling.

Okay – I forked out on these after reading around a lot and here is what I have to say after using for 2 months. Sound quality is okay, so is build quality. Best thing about these headphones is their ability to pair, connect and switch between devices – seamless! The folding sides are pretty sturdy just watch out you don’t whip them off your neck too often causing them to stretch unnecessarily. Case is really nice and they are great to travel with. Buttons that switch between sound modes is great. Hear-through is like something from the future although the mic’s sound like they could handle better quality. The ANC is good but not as strong as BOSE etc. but then the connectivity is second to none.

Drittes groes Thema: Bedienung.

Sorry I didn’t hear your question due to the noise cancelling – it is that good!
Light and comfortable for a couple of hours, I then found them a touch uncomfortable, but bear in mind I am VERY picky and I can tolerate these far longer than most cans.
Buttons for volume control etc. are on the ear pieces – I found them a touch too small, but I have banana fingers, I’m sure most people will have no difficulties; once I set them up I never found the need to touch them anyway
A slight awkwardness is that they turn themselves on and off with orientation changes, I must admit I found this awkward and so smart it’s clunky, but I am an analogue being at heart, so I also find apps clunky – the app however and various noise cancelling modes are actually pretty good, the best I’ve used anyway – I would point out however that the “smart” mode does get confused from time to time (so it’s not just me)
Excellent battery life and fast charge
This is Bluetooth only however, personally I find current Bluetooth about where wifi was a few years back, i.e. not very good and more than a touch flaky. Listening to music is fine, but there can be a lack of sync watching films. Having said that the firmware can be patched, so perhaps this will improve – I would have preferred a hard wired option.
On balance pretty damn good and if you’re the type that likes using mobile phones and alexa, even bette

No tienen botones tctiles.

These are pretty high-end headphones and stand up well against their equivalent competitors. One of the USPs of these is the ANC and intelligent switching between modes (such as commuter mode) according to the surroundings. This means you don’t have to pause music or take headphones off to hear the tannoy announcement at the station even when noise cancellation is enabled. It works quite well, but as a result i think the noise cancellation doesn’t quite meet the standards set by other top notch headphones but it’s sufficient and you can definitely tell when it isn’t active!

The headphones themselves are a bit chunkier than my preferred ones (V-Moda) – the ‘cans’ are deeper so the profile isn’t as slimline. However, as a result, i think that makes them more comfortable to wear for a longer period of time. I wore these for a 3 hour train journey and they were fine (despite my ears getting a little hot towards the end, of course!). The bluetooth functionality works well and they quickly connect to the device, however i have noticed that when i’m in a train station and there are loudspeaker announcements it interferes and causes dropout – this might not be unique to these, however.

They fold up and fit into a hard case, but they don’t fold up terribly small. The case is the size of a large side plate, perhaps.

The sound quality is pretty good – not blow-your-mind-amazing but really solid, rich and a good bass to it. I The accompanying app is very intuitive with a good interface that allows you to personalise the settings.

Overall, for the price point, i think these are a really solid pair of headphones. Comfortable, they feel durable, delivering good sound with some pretty unique features.

These were my first pair of both sound cancelling and wireless headphones. As a result I am very inclined to love them. The problem is that I can’t. They cover even my big ears well. They give great sound reproduction. So what does it come down to? Little niggles really, but niggles that I keep feeling. I hate the lack of an off button on the exterior. I am frustrated by the lack of volume. I get that if I am walking down the street it would be unwise to have them too loud – for my own sake. However, in the safety of my own home I can’t get the performance from them that I get from my ancient Sennheisers.

I have to admit that I’ve never heard of Jabra until now. Part of a group called GN, which was founded 150 years ago, it seems to have passed me by in the sound department, maybe it’s because I’ve been a traditionalist and prefer headphones with a lead that plug into an amplifier. But new technology is there to be tried, so I have.

Available in four colours, the difference between copper and titanium black is the clasp between the headband and earpiece, putting them on turns them on, which is very handy, and taking them off pauses everything until you either wear them again or put them back, in which case they turn off. I don’t know if that’s an innovative feature but it’s very impressive.

Also impressive is the sound. By using the Jabra app you can utilise the eight microphones to customise how you want to hear things. Technologically confusing perhaps, but it does work. The ANC turns itself on to filter out unwanted sound depending on how you’ve set it up. It’s also completely hands-free with Alexa, Siri or Google.

All the controls bar one are on one earpiece (one one that isn’t is the button that cycles through the sound modes) and although the claim is for a battery life of 36 hours, I haven’t tested it. Remember, that’s ‘up to 36 hours’, so it could be less. Though these headphones didn’t make my wars warm, and they are comfortable what with the decent band padding, I wouldn’t use them as a home pair, as they’re made for outside. They’re nice to look at too, but are expensive.

This is about as good quality pair of headphones as you can get in this price bracket. The sound is excellent. It is packed with features and well designed all round to be convenient to use. I particularly like the way it can connect with two devices at the same time. The app that comes with it is excellent and easy to use with a nifty way of selecting different equaliser settings to deal with different uses.

They are relatively heavy. They are springy which is good for staying on but I found after a while my ears hurt from being pressed against my head. This may not be their fault as I find this with all the headphones I have ever tried (although I don’t think there’s anything unusual about my ears).

In my view the choice depends on whether you go for lots of clever features. If not, you don’t need such a heavy pair and would do better with something like the Jabra GN which is a good pair and lighter.

Absolute Kaufempfehlung. Ich mchte sie nichtmehr missen.

I am extremely impressed with this pair of Jabra Elite 85h over ear headphones. They look good (black and gold), sound good and have a whole host of superb features. I can honestly say that these are the best I’ve ever used even when comparing them with the likes of BOSE Quiet Comfort and Sony’s WH-1000XM3.

These headphones are very easy to set up and use, simply download the Jabra sound+ app (registration is required) which then enables you to personalise your settings so that both your music and wireless phone calls sounds exactly as you want them to. You can also use Alexa or another preferred voice assistant.

These headphones when fully charged last as long as 36 hours, there is also a fast charging feature … fifteen minutes charging which produces five hours of use.

    **** SPECIAL FEATURES ****

** I have found that these headphones work exceptionally well for wireless calls and music equally with 8 microphones (6 for calls) for superb sound quality in all situations.

** HearThrough – this is automatically enabled when necessary.

** Smart Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is also automatically enabled when and where necessary, this blocks background noise such as motor vehicles and weather noises. This feature works very well, I was using these headphones in the garden the other day, it was pretty windy and I hardly noticed … if it wasn’t for the trees bending almost in half I would never have known.

** One of the best features is something called ‘Smart Sound’ technology which cleverly and automatically adapts your listening experience based on your own personal settings that you set using the Jabra Sound+ app.

** It’s nice to have a few voice assistants to choose from which include Alexa, Siri or Google assistant.

** The speakers on these headphones are very high quality 40mm speakers, they certainly give a superior sound.

** On ear detection … amazingly these headphones actually know when they are removed from your ears, it literally pauses the music until you put the headphones on again. I love this.

** Rain resistant thanks to the special nano coating of internal components.

** Finally they comes with a two year water and dust warranty.

So in summing up, although these headphones are priced at the higher end of the market, I have no problem in recommending these.

I’m a huge fan of Bluetooth headphones and Jabra are one of the brands really leading the charge with new generations of Bluetooth headsets, and this one is up there with their best.
The sound quality is really good – it’s not the very best, but it easily satisfies me and doesn’t suffer at all with all types of music. The basses are rounded and the top end stays solid throughout tracks – it’s well balanced and I don’t have any complaints.
The noise cancelling is excellent as well – some of the best in class. I commute via the underground and these keep me isolated completely from the sounds which is something I really appreciate and makes a big difference to my journey. However I also I love that with a press of a button I can activate “listen through” which lets me hear everything outside as well – very useful when in a station and listening for announcements or just wanting to be more aware of my surroundings.
The microphone is great as well – my friends cannot tell that I’m using a headset instead of the handset, or that I’m walking, and the calls sound crystal clear to me as well, very impressive.
The App is really well made as well, and works well with several pairs of Jabra headsets that I own: it recognises the different pairings and alters itself accordingly. This headset will detect where you are and change the settings depending on your presets, so it can automatically turn on ‘listen through’ when it knows you’re at home, in the office, or somewhere quiet – really handy.
All in all a superb pair of headphones, highly recommended.

These headphones are brilliant. I use them regularly at work to help me concentrate. Putting them on they immediately turn on and connect via bluetooth and let me know how the battery life is. There are comfortable to wear and are adjustable. The sound quality is great. I use them to listen to music as well as audible books and podcasts and I can easily become immersed as I get no distractions. The case seems very sturdy as I carry it around a lot.

Very pleased with these and would recommend them to anyone needing to switch off the world and listen to their own music or book for a little while.

These headphones are at par with top non professional lifestyle brands like Bose.
These are nicely packaged and come with a nice case
They ooze expensiveness – look and feel good with comfortable fit over the ears – very good for long listening – without any discomfort

The noise cancellation is perfect and connection with your phone is immediate.

The built in Alexa feature needs to be improved, but works ok.

The best feature is the sound.
If you listen to a nice hd record you will experience the best sound from headphones.
Even when used in noisy environments like plane or train, they perform perfectly.
From other reviews I see that customer service is top.

These are expensive and you will get better sound from a pair of Beyerdynamic Aventho wireless – which are superior in every way – but they also cost a bit more and lack the complete feature set of these

So as a complete connected set – recommended – but not for audiophiles

We have tried a lot of headphones, these are easily one of the best. They are super comfortable, expanding well, not tight at all and give no issues when wearing for a long time.

Sound quality is perfect. Coupled with the sound cancelling capabilities (which can be controlled with the app) Spotify on a plane sound spot on, deep bass and rich treble and complete absence of background noise – as good if not better than my old Bose Quietcomfort headphones, plus the 85hs are wireless, with no hissing.

Some won’t like the copper effect, we like the look.

All in all a perfect set of premium headphones which you’ll get a lot of use out of, a joy to wear.

Fabulous product. Was easy to set up and pair and a godsend on recent holidays. The fact that it pauses music the moment you take the phones off your head, then restarts when you’re ready, without a whole lot of faff finding and pressing pause on something you’ve put somewhere is such a real life help. The sound is exquisite, they’re very comfortable, intuitive and the way the phones store is so clever and so light and small – just a wonderful and very useful gadget.

Surprisingly nice balanced sound, great app with it. The battery life is incredible, I have been using them for 2 weeks and I haven’t charged them once. The Noise cancellation is largely very good apart from the odd low end noise from the tube. The hear-through function is brilliant. Comes with a great case to keep them protected and I love that i can also plug them in just in case. All in all, brilliant. The one downside is because of them being close back, It is very difficult to wear them in the summer heat.

Nice balanced sound, great App and incredible battery life.

I, like many others, have used Bose noise cancelling headphones for years. But when these became available with all the additional geegaws and whatsits I was happy to get my hands on a set.
And the extras are really, really good. The ease of switching on and off when you’re wearing them, the automatic playback pausing when you take them off. I even managed to get them setup and linked to my phone with ease.
Thing is, the noise cancelling isn’t great. They trumpet the Smart Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) as a major point but it just doesn’t work that well. Obviously it’s better than no noise reduction but in comparison to my 10 year old Bose set which I’ve held onto through many another make and model, the noise still gets through.
They’re good headphones with a lot of quality features and the sound itself is strong, bright and vivid. But I don’t want to hear the bloke in the seat next to me droning on about his sales targets.

I’ve never had a good make of headphones and on picking them up you could feel the quality and difference. when you pick them up they automatically turn on on and connect once opened and on removing them it pauses and returning again will start again this is a great feature. The finish on the headphones does show grease in Hairspray but easily wipes away. The sound quality is great and with the app can be easily adjusted to suit, you can get software updates and have four profile preferences. I’ve been using these most for phone calls and the quality is so amazing, you have 8 mics they’re really comfortable to wear and I love the noise cancellation, I can’t hear the kids lol. It comes with a neat case with audio jack and port included really couldn’t wish for more out of headphones and can’t wait to see what the updates bring it’s great walking and being able to hear my surroundings and listening to the music .The battery life is really good and charges really fast I’m really impressed and I would really recommend

Unboxing the headphones was a nice experience. At this level you get all the accessories you would expect, hard carry case, 3.5mm airline adaptor, 3.5 mm cable for when you don’t have Bluetooth and a USB C charging cable which is too short for my liking. Upgrading the USB C cable is something I’m doing straight away.

The carry case is a decent size and doesn’t take up too much space, with the headphones folded up to keep it down in size for travelling. The case is covered in a nice leather outer and soft inner to protect the headphones. What I would like to have seen is a better compartment to store the accessories or a cover for them as they are always falling out. The overall weight is good, and this won’t impact your travel luggage or work bag too much.

The headphone style is over the ear and one of the best looking headphones I’ve ever seen. The Copper and Black styling just pops. I love the material that also covers the top of the headband and earcup sides.
These are premium and look the part. With a lightweight design made from metal and ABS with an excellent headband, it makes wearing these for extended periods a breeze without any issues. The headband has decent flexibility and plenty of adjustment with a nice level of clamping, ensuring you don’t get a headache. The earpads are trimmed in leather and filled with a very soft foam feeling awesome on the ear. The earcups are shallow, though it didn’t cause me a problem. The only issue I’ve had was in warm weather as they wrap around my ears, sealing them in which makes my ears became very warm after a couple of hours, though no different from other brands.

The right-hand earcup is where the main controls are with a button for Alexa/Google or Siri assistant depending on your device or when on a call it can be used as a mic mute. There is also a 3.5mm audio socket and a USB C port for charging.
Then you are maxing and relaxing you can control the Music/Video via the volume up button which also provides the functionality to skip to the next track or hold. There is also another button to control volume down, which also provides the functionality for selecting the previous track or hold. The final button is a multifunction button to answer and hang up calls, play and pause music or to activate Bluetooth functions.

The left-hand earcup is much simpler and has a single button which controls the Active Noise Cancelling profiles.

I was expecting some outstanding sound from these headphones provided by the 40mm drivers, but they lack in clear bass and on vocals were not as clear as I have had from other headphones at this level. The sound quality isn’t terrible, but there is room for improvement as its not as good as I would expect from a premium pair of headphones. I tried to improve this with the EQ via the App or by using other devices, but I always came to the same conclusion, they could sound better.

Again the main point of these was to have outstanding Active Noise Cancelling, and although it wasn’t terrible, I would say it was good. They need to complete at this level, and they aren’t here.

Using these for taking phone calls or skype was a breeze, and it worked floorless with a great microphone allowing people to hear me crisp and clear even in noisy environments.

Charging time was awesome and super fast with the USB C performance. It took around 2 hours to charge them fully, and you can get a decent couple of hours from around 15 mins charge time. It was good to see they have used a USB C port here rather than an older slower USB connection some still are. Overall battery life was very good and I had no issue to question the stated time.

Connecting these to my iPhone via Bluetooth was a total dream they connected without any hassle, and it was nice and straight forward. Swapping between multiple devices was also easy, and it was nice to see that they support eight so you can switch between them.

The application which I downloaded from the app store for free is simple to use but maybe a little too simple in functionally. A nice feature you don’t often see on this kind of product was the ability to track the last location of your headphones in-case you lose them. You can pick from some preset EQ settings or make your own. What was disappointing but can easily be fixed within the software is the ability to save your EQ settings or to copy them between different ANC profiles.

Overall these are a decent pair of headphones, but at this level, they do fall short in areas they shouldn’t and why I have been picky. I’ve had other products from this brand so I expect they will improve them as they can do better.

Good but a few things that could be improved

Great quality in every aspect of this headset and kind of shocked that Jabra is almost the new Sony.

Smartsound feature allows you to change your noise cancellation profile, according to the outside environment which is a nice to have but necessarily a clincher. Tried it out using the HEadphonestes list on Spotify and it coped well with every track. Its comfortable and not as heavy as my Sonys from last year, though I do miss the solid over-ear firmness that physically blocks ou the sound of the commute. Wearing it for commuting and focus tasks at work meant it lasted three days without recharging, Bass was deep but not up to the quality of Bose or Sony and it couldn’t quite catch the more delicate string solos.

It’s great but it’s fo coming at the same cost as the equivalent Sonys I usually wear so it doesn’t have an advantage in that respect. If it’s going to be a range leader it needs to get better or get cheaper because its name alone doesn’t quite cut it.

I am overall really impressed by the quality of sound, features and build of these headphones, but for me there are a couple of negatives that may or may not be relevant to other users.

First of all the negatives – I have a large head and thick hair. I wear the largest size motorbike crash helmet and for a woman just have a big skull! I find the springiness of the headband just a bit too tight, so after prolonged use they can feel a bit uncomfortable. I am hoping that with more wear they will slacken off and be a bit more comfortable.

The ear cans are quite large, so don’t in my humble opinion look very contemporary / modern and they do take up a lot of space on the side of your head, so if you wanted to wear them whilst falling asleep on the train/plane etc then they might not be that comfortable unless you can sleep on the back of your head instead of the side.

They are big when packed and take up a fair chunk of space – so if like me you pack ultralight then they may not be your first choice.

The positives though outweigh the negatives and make these an excellent pair of headphones. I currently use some wireless beats (for the gym and active use) and AirPods (for commuting / phone calls). The sound quality on these is superb – I can get them loud enough for my liking and the EQ aspect is really good, tailor them to your preferences by the app and set them up just for you.

The phone call facility is really good – much better than my Beats and probably just as good as the AirPods. Clear, enough sound of your own voice to not be annoying and the person on the other end gets a good sound quality too.

The battery life is good, no issues there. They charge well and last a decent amount of time.

The carry case is good – robust and protective. I like they way you open them up and that turns them on – great little feature. They pair to my phone easily and play music equally easily.

The noise reduction is good, but I like the way that I can hear what people are saying if I want to – that annoys me with my AirPods, I have to take them out to speak to someone, which is not usually a problem, but can be.

All in all I think these are good quality, user friendly, robust and high end earphones that have loads of cool features. I won’t be using them in the Gym, I won’t be taking them on travel trips, but I will be using them in my home office and for general wear at home.

To get started, these sound absolutely amazing and have so many features packed into these little headphones.

The way they power on and off is quite nifty – By rotating the cups so that they’re facing each other, the headphones turn on and to turn them off, just rotate them flat. This can be seen in the instruction manual in the attached photos.

One of the main points is the SmartSound. This is able to change the mode of music dependent on the surroundings, e.g. commuting, outside, indoors etc. It changes through the sound modes where necessary to provide the best quality of sound.
I tried these when I went on my daily commute and it was able to tell when I had left a quiet area into a noisy one, especially when on the train.

When taking the headphones off the ears, the music will pause and when putting them back on, the music will resume. I found that it took a couple of seconds to carry out this process but it is still a cool feature that saves battery.
The sound quality is crystal clear as is the microphone quality.

The Jabra Sound+ app is something different about how these headphones operate. Normally, you could customise the sound through music players but this app allows you to change it to your own preferences to create a unique sound profile to you.
When on the app, open the “Moments” tab where you can customise it to your liking from making the bass higher to treble lower – each to their own.

The battery is very strong, easily lasting the 36 hour advertised life. It also charges up very quickly using a Type C USB cable which makes a change as micro-usb’s are starting to lose trend.

The headphones come with a nice leathery carry case and include; 3.5mm aux cable, Type C charging cable and an audio adapter.

They also come with a 2 year warranty that can be signed up to in the Jabra Sound+ app for peace of mind which is very useful.

Great pair of headphones that, to me, are better value for quality than Bose equivalents.

    Comfortable and sounds grea

Very smart looking headphones. The earpieces twist flat for storage in the zip case – turning them on is done by twisting the earpieces into position, and vice versa for turning off. It took me a while to work out exactly how to arrange it for putting back into the case again before I realised that there is a label inside with a picture of it – you turn the two pieces differently so it’s resting in the case asymmetrically.

It’s easy to pull the length extensions out of the band to fit, and once done they stay firmly in place. They are very comfortable to wear – I don’t think I’ve ever had over-ear headphones which have been quite so comfortable and which I’ve been able to wear for so long. They’re extremely light – technology has moved on – the last time I tried Bluetooth headphones a few years back the weight of them was excessive and didn’t make for comfortable wear at all, and I just couldn’t stick with them really, but this is a very different animal. The battery seems to last ages; haven’t measured it but the description claims 36 hours. Charging is done via a micro USB C port. The controls are easily accessible and easy to use — mode change button on the left, volume control/next/previous and pause/play on the right.

I’ve never been entirely convinced by ANC and have always thought it to be something which promises far more than it delivers. However this is the best I’ve ever come across by a long, long way, but still not quite measuring up to the claims. I’m particularly glad of it at work — due to recent changes the office has become quite noisy again after many months of relative calm, meaning that I’m going back to listening to music on headphones simply to disguise the racket. The ANC does a quite good job of removing the machine-gun-like tappity-tappity-tap of keyboards which really get on my nerves; it’s a bit less good at erasing external speech completely but still very beneficial on that front. Sound quality is good overall with clear and balanced sound (you can perform some customisation via an associated app, but I’ve not found the need to change the default).

There is one feature which doesn’t work perfectly for me and which is a sufficient annoyance for me to drop a star on what would otherwise easily be a 5* product: the ‘phones detect when they’re on your ears, so that when you take them off it pauses the music, so that you don’t have to go fiddling with your mobile or tablet; when you put them back on again the music should restart. Great feature for the most part. However it’s oversensitive, and making a minor positional adjustment or doing something like scratching your ear, lifting the cans ever so slightly without actually taking them off, can trigger the pause, and the music won’t then restart until you go to your mobile and restart it, which defeats the point. This is happening sufficiently often for me to get a bit irritated. Perhaps I need to learn to be a bit less fidgety.

I was really really excited to have this Jabra Elite 85h – Copper Black Headphones with ANC, SmartSound Technology,..
They are really fantastic. The quality, the case, the design…

I like everything, first the design, style and colours I love black and golden, very elegant, very neutral for man and women. I am very impressed with the way that they adapt to the sound, this is the SmartSound technology, very impressed doesn’t matter if the noise if so strong, now I don’t want anything different.

I found the battery life at the moment very very long, very good, easy and fast to charge.
When I had to make or received a call I was not sure to use because I was not sure of the microphone, but is really much better than using a normal phone, the sound, the quality, no sound around!! is better than using my Phone. Is easy to conet with your phone, and easy to use. Plus you can connect with Siri, Google Assistant or Alexa.

They are resistant, and the materials are good, really really good finished. Is not an expensive product when you tried realised that is the bes

This is my first set of over ear headphones with noise cancellation so I have nothing to compare it with in those regards. All I will say is that they’re more comfortable wear than my on-ear Monster headphones and that the ANC and Hear Through options are a revelation.

What I can confidently comment on are the following:
Battery life: Astonishing. A full charge lasts for days and days. Taking the headphones off your head pauses music automatically and twisting the ear cups turns the headphones off, helping to conserve battery life. Even when they do run down it’s possible to get a good whack of charge in them quickly .
Connection: Easily the best bluetooth connection I’ve had from a set, especially when connection to multiple devices which I often do when working on laptop and using phone together.
Call quality: clear and works brilliantly.
Audio quality: Meh. Middling. Compared to bass-heavy Monster headphones the audio was initially really disappointing. But I’ve fallen into this pit before with some Bose headphones and after a few days use realised that amazing sound is possible without thumping bass. These haven’t matured brilliantly though. The Jabra app gives you some EQ control but even boosting the bass to max there makes very little difference.
Size: These headphones are big on the head, so you’re always going to look like someone wearing a big pair of headphones. They’re not light. I haven’t suffered discomfort yet from prolonged use but some people may find these a tad heavy. The carry case is gigantic. I mean I’m using it because I don’t want to muck them up, but it’s taking up a large part of my daily bag!
Form: The fabric design is quite nice to the touch and feels premium but I have grave concerns about it getting mucky over time and picking up all sorts of detritus.

I feel very fortunate to have been able to use these and they will replace the Monster set I had been using but at this price they’re competing with Bose and Sony and I’m not sure they’re beating them.

Ok, so if you are looking for a lot of technicality then this is not the review that you need to be reading. I just love headphones and am happy to talk about these. I’m going to be doing this review differently from how I normally do as I feel like bullet point will just be better to understand and get my point across.
-The battery life is amazing, it has lasted me a good few weeks and is still doing well. I do only really use them on average 1 hour a day.
    -Sound quality is great.
-Call quality is just ok. It is great on my side and I can hear perfectly but on the other side the other person can’t hear as well and the quality is soft for them.
-Hear through is amazing!!! Who ever thought of that deserves a raise because being in London, you need to be able to hear at the most inconvenient times.
-Bluetooth range is great, I don’t have to take my phone with me into the other room or even down 3 flights of stairs when taking out he trash.
-Loooooove having the base boost option because even being a 31 year old woman, I love my music with more base, even if it’s country!
-The headphones as a whole are actually not too heavy, they fit my head comfortably and don’t slip even after walking around for 2 hours.
-Love the cary case, it’s a hard shell and ensures that my headphones don’t get broken in my bad.
-Setup was super easy, download the app and follow instructions. Didn’t taken me more than 5 minutes from stat to finish.
-Actually a really great price and I would buy them again.

Prior to getting these headphones and had been looking at the usual suspects Sony, Sennheiser etc. but these Jabra 85h’s seem to be every bit their equal. Given there price I had been expecting a bit more ‘wow’ with the packaging, which is pretty ordinary, but it’s the contents that count and fortunately they are more impressive.

The design is quite restrained, with just a flash of copper colour at the earpiece/headband connection, but everything feels satisfyingly solid. Comfort is very good, even with glasses on, and for once the volume buttons on the side are easy to find by touch alone.

Set-up requires an app, things like eq and noise cancelling options can be set here but is not necessary for day to day use (I use the headphones only at work and don’t need to change things once set-up). Once connected to my iPhone, the phone remembers and automatically when the headphones are switched on (which is not the case with some other headphones I’ve had).

Sound quality is frankly great, the app EQ allows you to tailor it to your tastes. Bass is strong without being overpowering and everything is clear and the volume decent (I find most bluetooth devices are too quiet). Noise cancellation is good in a busy office, but isn’t always required as the over design blocks out a reasonable amount of background chatter anyway.

I have no real criticisms (other than my ears can get a bit warm after a while – hardly a deal breaker), and they’re pretty expensive — but in fairness no more so than their main rivals.

If you want headphones that do it all – the Jabra 85hs come pretty close. They are fully enclosed headphones which provide for Bluetooth or wired connection – the latter being useful for places where airplane mode is a must (e.g. on a plane…) They come with an excellent clam shell case that will protect them from the general rigors of travel – though they do then take up a little more space.

They are very comfortable – softly padded earcups fit easily around the ears and wearing them with glasses is fine. All the controls come easily to hand – left side one button for cycling through sound modes; the right side has a “voice assistant and mute button as well as an answer/end call button and a pair that serve as both volume up/down and next/previous track. The call answer button can also be used to start Bluetooth pairing.

The earphone cups can be rotated (necessary for storing in the clamshell case) – which also turns headphones on/off. A great feature is automatic pause when you take them off – as well as resume when you put them on again. They are a real pleasure to wear and use.

Having connected to my phone I downloaded the Jabra Sound+ app (iOS) which provides a fair degree of functionality accessed via your phone rather than the buttons on the headphones themselves. You can switch between the three sound modes – ANC, HearThrough or Off – the same modes which can be cycled through using the function button on the left side of the earphones. It is also possible to access voice assistants (Siri, Alexa and Google Home). I’ve been playing with Alexa and I can still turn lights on and off using the headphones. I guess the app talks to the Alexa app on my phone and goes from there. It works – requiring initiation via the right hand function button.

The app offers rather more – you can use preset sound modes (e.g. speech, smooth, bass boost, energise etc.) which adjust the equaliser which you can also adjust manually (bass, treble, mid-range). It all works very well. If you’re looking for soothing background sounds the app can do that too – ocean sounds, rain, etc.

Sound quality is really very good. The range is balanced (and can be tweaked via the app) and sound is clear. Unsurprisingly there is a perceptible difference using the different sound modes. ANC works very well – obviously it’s not going to shield you from loud and random sounds as well as more costant background noise (e.g. plane, car, running machinery) – but it does an impressive job nevertheless. HearThrough uses microphones within the speakers to “pass through” sound from outside – and it’s really effective. Don’t want to miss the train announcements or skip the in-flight commentary – HearThrough works really well. The third mode, Off, is off. Even in Off with the close fitting cups a lot of external noise is cut out. Wearing them at the gym is okay – they stay on well – although I’m not sure they would do if you are into very energetic movements as part of your workout.

In summary these are exceptionally versatile headphones that pretty much do it all. They sound great and provide a selection of modes and settings to deal with difficult sound situations. The controls are pretty standard and are easy to access. The auto pause and on/off functionality is brilliant and so simple to use. The protective clamshell case means they are protected when not in use – and has room for the 3.5mm cable, the charging cable and the supplied twin pin flight adapter.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersJabra is a brand that I have become a bit attached too in the past year, I never really knew much about them considering that they have been around for 150 years however I have stuck to brands like Bose, Beats and B&O. It was only when clearing out my office that I came across a PC headset I reviewed years ago which are a pair of Jabra and I never even realised. I currently use a pair of Jabra Elite Evolve 65t’s which are around the same price as the Elite 85h but are in ear running buds.

The Elite 85H comes beautifully packaged with instructions a couple of leaflets, a soft/hardcase, jack wires and the headphones themselves.

The headphones are very stylish and comfortable even for long periods and I would say on Par with my Bose Soundlink’s. Personally for me the sound quality is better and comes with a deeper base closer to the Beats however still retains that depth and quality sound when it comes to everyday music. I tried a few musical pieces like City of Lovers from Casino Royal and Now We Are Free from Gladiator and it provides you with such a nice crisp sound however it does lack something compared to the 450 B&O I have but this is to be expected.

The Headphones thankfully comes with a USB C charging port which always impresses me, the buttons are hidden on the right outside earpiece. There are only three hidden (up to turn volume up or hold to skip track, Down to turn down or return to start of track/ previous track and middle to turn off or on). You can pair through the app or hold down the middle button and connection is pretty quick. You also have two buttons at the bottom of each earpiece which are visible. The left will cycle through hear-through, ANC or just turn off and if you hold it down you can cycle through Smartsound options (see below). The right will activate Alexa, Siri or Google assist depending on what you have connected. To turn the headphones on or off you just need to twist the earpieces which is ca nice touch but I’m not 100% sold on this idea as well as the fact the earpieces not only twist but turn as well which is more for storage but holding the headphones and they can easily move around. The headphones will auto pause when remove and start when placed back on your head. This works well and I am impressed when compared to my B&O that sometimes switch off when I bow my head.

Hear-Through is something I am used to with my 65T’s and I find it useful when running around a built up area so I can hear people and traffic. The way that Jabra advertise this with the 85h is your surroundings, so when you are out and about you can hear people around you or if someone wants your attention verbally or you are crossing a road you can hear them without interrupting your music much. Microphones outside the headphones help this by amplifying sounds from outside much like a hearing aid. This is also used when taking calls so you can hear yourself speak and not sound muffled which can be off putting. Speaking of calls I can easily hear people when taking calls so much so that I use it when working from home to answer my work calls and the other person can hear me clearly. It’s worth pointing out that this will use more of the battery when in use.
ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) will shut off most of the noise around you which is great when you want to just listen to whatever you are playing. They also have Smartsound which is designed to adapt to your surroundings automatically. This can be manually set up via the app or by holding down the left button, there are different set ups for being in public, commute, in private or you can also personalise a custom setup.

    Positives
    + USB-C
    + Hearthrough
+ Supplied Headphone Cable so I can use it with my Switch
    + The Style
    + Premium Sound Quality
    + Comfort
    + Useful App
+ Using it to take calls
    + Siri/Alexa/Google Assist at a touch of a button
+ Hidden actual buttons for volume and skip tracks
+ Turn off when removed from the head
    + Rain proof

    Negatives
    – The way it folds to put away, I would rather have just the speakers turn in and not twist up
    – You have to really look for the R & L, it’s not as clear as some others
    – Not tight to your head so move while use in the gym (not a great deal though)

    The App (iOS and Android)

Allows you to communicate with your headphones letting you adjust settings or smart sound changing the sounds to suit your surroundings. You will also use the app to update your headset and get assistance from Jabra, and there is also a diagram showing what all the buttons do.
The app also features “Soundscape” — This will let you hear programmed sounds to listen to which be quite relaxing. These are – Pink Noise – White Noise – Ventilation Fan — Waterfall — Diving – Ocean Waves — Rainy day — Songbirds –Perfect Storm — Babbling Brook – Cavern — Crowd

I tend to use the storm when reading a book to down out my surroundings.

    Verdict
Boasting a 36 Hour battery life (in ANC only) I have fallen in love with these headphones, while the sound quality might not be up there when put against my B&O it is of a very high quality. But the headphones themselves just works, I have no issues with any of the controls, the removal works wonders when removing them from my head, they connect with no issues with my phone, they look amazing especially the copper parts. The Hear-through is a great feature which everyone should use when out and about in public. They are comfortable, well made and feel sturdy in your hands. I’m not sold on the twist and bend its like having both Bose and Beats in one and id rather the headphones only folded in. The headphone jack is a welcome addition so I can use them for my Nintendo Switch or on a plane. USB-C these days is a must and I can wear them out in the rain without worrying that I will break them.

Whilst my negative points are trivial I am more than impressed with these headphones and reward them with full marks.

Any questions you have please do ask me, I hope my review has been of some help.

    Utterly Fantastic

Awesome headphones!! Can’t rave about these enough. The battery life is insane. I love how they switch on and connect just by opening them and putting them on. The voice assistant is really good.

Sound quality is absolutely amazing! The noise cancellation/ allow noise feature is so clever. I’ve worn them in the kitchen and the gym and not been able to hear any other noises but then running in them on the road I still hear the cars .
Also they are really comfy, don’t crush my ears at all and they barely move if I’m in the gym, even running!
    Love them

You can use these headphones straight out of the box as they are partially charged. Really easy to pair with your phone via Bluetooth too. You can download an app to store your sound preferences but I didn’t as you don’t really need to. They fit really well and don’t stick out at the sides too far. The rise gold touches look really good. There is a foam overlay on the band and it’s under this where you’ll find the controls- not sure how durable that will be over time. They fit easily into their hard case. The sound quality is excellent and the noise cancels really well. These are smart and stylish and very competitive with other similar priced brands.

    Smart with excellent noise cancellatio

Great sound. Great quality. Excellent noise cancellation.
I drifted away from using headphones of any description quite a while ago, as I found the discomfort factor more and more irritating.
Been using this quality piece of equipment for a few days now, and truthfully, you wouldn’t know you were wearing them. Very lightweight and comfortable, and the sound is simply awesome.
Not the least inexpensive piece of ‘headwear’ you could opt for, but by far the most superior.

Words like “Quality” and “Premium” spring to mind before you even open the box!

This feeling continues upon opening – quality paper and cardboard keep the feeling going. You certainly feel you are getting value for money!

Taking out the phones you immediately notice the quality of design and build.

Pairing quickly and easily with my OnePus6 mobile, the Bluetooth range is impressive – signal locks tight even when I move upstairs leaving the mobile behind.

Sound quality is excellent: the different moods all work well and you can tweak the sound too.

I play mostly 70s Soul, funk and reggae via Spotify Premium and the sound is great: deep and controlled bass, good mid range and treble. Voices are clear as are the different instruments.

Sound stage is good, sometimes excellent and the timing pretty spot on.

Battery life is almost as good as the makers claim and the C class USB ensures charging is quick.

What’s not to like? Almost nothing but if I had to be ultra critical they are a bit heavy and no one could really claim they were lookers!

Absolutely worth auditioning or just buying blind – you won’t regret it!!

These Jabra headphone have left me mightly impressed. I was familiar with Jabra from audio conferencing devices at work, but didn’t realise they could also produce such high-end headphones. These really are very musical, and have usurped my V-Moda Crossfade 2 wireless headphones, even ignoring the extra benefit of the noise cancellation that the Jabra headphones provide.

They are very comfortable, even for a glasses wearer such as myself. As with all over-the-ear headphones, my ears do get a bit warm after a couple of hours, but nothing too bad. The volume and pause controls are very discreetly located on the right ear-phone. Twisting the right ear through 90 degrees to turn the headphones off took a bit of getting used to, but it feels quite natural now. The battery life is incredible, lasting me for days on end, even with noise cancellation active. The Bluetooth sound quality is as good as cabled (unlike the V-Moda’s, which have audible hiss when using Bluetooth). The noise cancellation is also silent (no hiss), although it does change the tone of the music somewhat, giving a substantial boost to the bass frequencies. But this can easily be adjusted through the accompanying app, if desired.

The only negatives I’ve found are the “scenes” feature, which is just unnecessarily complicated, and the supposedly intelligent switching between them, which is not very intelligent, but these can be ignored/disabled. I’ve also disabled the automatic pausing when you lift the headphones away from your ears, because I like to let some air in momentarily without the music stopping, but that’s just a personal matter, and easily configured from the app.

Overall, these have blown me away! There may be better headphones out there, but I haven’t come experienced them.

Cuffie over-ear , automomia infinita , supporto degli assistenti vocali , resistenti all'acqua

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersSoy afortunado.

The headphones fold into a flat pancake like hard zip storage box. Included in this is a USB-C charging cable, 2.5mm to 2.5 mm jack cable and a double 2.5mm adaptor plug. The headphones are not too heavy considering what is packed into them and they are comfortable to wear, but they can get a bit sweaty if you are out walking on a warm day. Battery life is an easy few days of use, depending on use of noise cancelling. Charging is quick and easy using the USB cable. There is no power adaptor supplied, but a computer port or mobile phone adaptor will do the job.

You will need a mobile phone with the relevant Android or Apple app to get the most out of these, although it isn’t absolutely essential. I have only streamed music to these from my phone where the sound reproduction is top quality. The app allowed me to tweak the sound quality to suit. The app allows storage of the GPS co-ordinates of when they were last connected to your phone which may be of some help if lost.

In respect of the active noise cancelling (ANC) it is one of the best I have tried. If you haven’t experienced it before it is a bit odd. Firstly, it won’t cut out constantly changing pitches, but it is remarkable when it comes to a constant drone such as engine noise. Usually, there is a hiss, but I am not getting that with these. Our shower was running the other day and when I switched the ANC I thought the shower had stopped. It also comes in handy when on the computer in hot weather as the fans make a bit of a racket, but dissapears completely when ANC is on. The other mode is to allow sound to pass through — a weird experience when having sound played back to you in the headphones. This does introduce hiss, but it is not that noticeable when music is playing. This mode is perfect for me when out walking on shared cycle routes. The route is quiet, so I don’t need to cut out external sounds, but this mode allows me to hear cyclists ringing their bells or joggers warning me that they are passing. The 3rd mode is to have no sound modes — plain old headphones.

The controls are ideally placed on the back of the one ear cup, pause, play skip answer calls etc are all easy to locate. The Alexa / Google assistance control is nothing special, but it saves having to get your phone out.

The sound quality is crystal clear. Deep bass, clean treble which can be adjusted in the app. I find it difficult to say if it is better than some of the headphones I have had, but there is nothing wrong with the quality. They cost a lot, but quality costs.

I can’t find anything to dislike about these

The headphones are packaged nicely in a small box, where upon opening, you’ll find the provided hard travel case which in itself is good quality and clearly offers suitable protection. Inside this case are the headphones, which you’ll notice are folded down to quite a small size for portability.

The headphones themselves look anything but cheap, despite the mostly plastic build. The fabric around the headband is different to anything I have previously seen and it really is a nice touch, feeling nicer than plastic. They are well crafted and I like how folding the ear-cups powers them on and off. The rain resistance is great and I also especially like the discrete physical buttons.

They are comfortable to wear and are lighter than expected. I have had no problem wearing these for multiple hours which is a first for me. I’m going to try them at the gym soon, but I presume they’ll be fine.

In terms of audio quality, I was immediately impressed by the clarity and detail in the mid-range to highs.
The sound quality is very good, not mind-blowing but very good. It seems to lack the bass I expected. Immediately out of the box, they were somewhat flat for my taste but with some adjusting of the equalizer, I was quite happy. The call quality however is amazing, probably the best I have experienced in that respect; even in busy environments. Noise cancelling also works well without being too intense in practice.

In terms of the AI and the Jabra app, it is not really for me and feels somewhat gimmicky thus far but this can improve with firmware updates perhaps. I also am having major issues getting this to connect via Bluetooth in Windows 10; it simply won’t recognize it as a sound output. This is quite frustrating.

The battery life is also really good.

Overall, I think these are good value for money when you consider what they can do and the quality of the overall product.

    Recommended.

    Music Test For Audio System
    Mayo Nakano Piano Trio “Scabious”
    Pink Floyd Mandolin Orchestra
Sting — Shape Of My Heart
    Fkj & Masego — Tadow
“NO AUDIO FLAC HD” ma sempre di buona qualit
    The Weeknd — The Hills
The Weeknd — Call Out My Name

    CONCLUDENDO:

I am very impressed with these Jabra Elite 85h headphones. I see that some other reviewers have reservations about various aspects, but I don’t agree; I think they are very good all round.

I should probably say first that I really value three things about headphones: sound quality, comfort and decent ANC if they have it. For me, the rest is sometimes desirable but definitely secondary. I use them almost exclusively for music, usually via wired connection to either my TEAC stereo system or my HiFiMAN media player.

So, sound first: I think it is excellent. It is very well balanced with extremely clear articulation. There’s a firm bass which doesn’t dominate but is really strong when needed. Middles are rich and resonant and the treble is clear and sharp with no trace of harshness and I find them an absolute pleasure. I have listened to a lot of music through them, including my Test Tracks list which goes from 16th Century choral music to London Grammar. Everything sounds very good to me. Chamber, orchestral and large choral works are clear and distinct with a lovely full sound, things like classic rock sound great, acoustic music has a lovely clear quality and the deep, rolling bass in London Grammar’s Hey Now (one of my standard tests of headphones) is all there. These headphones are noticeably quieter than some (like V-Moda Crossfade 2, for example) but they are plenty loud enough for me with no distortion. I don’t presume to call myself an audiophile, but I think I know decent sound and these deliver it.

They are very comfortable. They have a decent grip but not too tight and the padding is excellent so they are comfortable for several hours. The ANC is as good as any other headphones I have tried and I’m very happy with it.

Build quality on the headphones seems very good. There is a decent hard case plus an aircraft adaptor, a USB-C charging lead and jack-to-jack AUX lead (which is the one disappointing thing as it’s flimsy and doesn’t have gold-plated plugs). Battery life is excellent; I can’t vouch for the 36-hour claim, but it seems quite plausible. Controls are simple and intuitive, Bluetooth connection is fine and the app for advanced control installs without fuss and works well, as far as I have bothered with it.

For my usage, I find these excellent and I’m extremely pleased with them. Others will be able to offer more detail about the flashier features but I find the sound quality, build quality comfort and ANC are all very good indeed and I can recommend them warmly.

Well, I can’t describe in words how good these headphones are, but here goes:
I’ve had plenty of Bluetooth headphones in my time, but I can 100% say that these are BY FAR the best, in every capacity.
They came in sleek, modern packaging, with nicely written, informative instructions.
The pairing process has never been easier, literally, as you put on the headphones, you hear a voice that explains what to do and you’re paired with the app in no time (via Bluetooth).
    Talking of the app; WOW.
Most Bluetooth headphones have shoddy, cheaply made apps, but THIS is premium. It’s easy to use and makes using the Noice Cancellation easy.
Talking of Noice Cancellation; I can clearly say that these headphones have THE BEST on the market (IMO).
Everything is completely customisable, from the ‘moments’ which allow you to choose certain modes for certain situations, to the automatically adjusting Noise cancellation, depending on your environment.
Not to mention the absolutely top-class sound quality, which is clear, bassy, whatever you want it to be, as it’s all changeable in the settings.
There’s so much more that I could say about these headphones, the beautiful leather hard case, the superior build quality, the comfiness of the headphones (whilst wearing glasses), but I don’t have time!
I can’t recommend these enough and it’s so nice to see the industry advancing so well.
    Would 10000% recommend.

I own several sets of headphones that I use in different situations.

For everyday commuting into London by train and underground, I have a set of Sennheiser 4.50HDNC wireless headphones. These have survived at least two years of just being thrown into my work bag and the noise cancellation is good enough to help cope with the noise of commuting to and from work every day.

For seriously listening to music, I own a set of wired Philips Fidelio X2 open back high definition headphones. For pure sonic joy, these take some beating! The pinpoint sound placement and massive sound stage make these perfect for listening to 24bit high resolution FLAC files. I can get lost for hours wearing these headphones. The open back design that gives these headphones their amazing sound also makes them not at all suitable for commuting etc. as they leak sound terribly.

For flying, I have (or rather I did have until very recently) a pair of Bose QC25s. The noise cancelling on these headphones is far superior to the Sennheisers, but they are wired and have only been used for flying. These have a typical silky-smooth Bose sound profile, but can also give you that noise cancelling “vacuum/pressure” type effect. Unfortunately, I left these on a plane a month or so ago, so I’ve been looking for a replacement.

I have used Jabra headphones at work and must admit that I would not have considered them high up my list of potential purchases as I thought they only really made business products.

This set of headphones has most definitely changed my mind about that!

Presentation is excellent! The bright, stylish and well made packaging opens to contain a really top quality carry case that reminds me a lot of the Bose QC series cases. It’s a soft feel hard case with a fully lined interior. Top marks! It is though slightly bigger than the Bose case.

Opening the case and the first impressions are again very reminiscent of my Bose QC25 — they even fold in a similar manner.

The material covering of each ear cup and the copper coloured highlights make this look a very stylish product indeed.
A closer examination and you find deeply padded ear-cups and headband, with subtle controls and a USB C charging on the right-hand cup and a single button on the bottom of the left had cup.

Picking them up and they feel solid and well made — and as soon as you swivel the ear-cups into place they turn on! This feature is something that only time will tell if I really like it or not or if I would have preferred a simple on/off switch.

The instruction booklet suggests that you download the Jabra Sound+ App and I would definitely agree with that.
When you put them on, you can hear a repeating message telling you to set up pairing, which worked first time on my P30 Pro.

My very initial impressions were a bit underwhelming. I had read reviews saying that these headphones were not very loud, and my first impression was that even with my phone turned up to maximum, they were still far from loud. Looking in the booklet and you find that the earphones also have on-board volume buttons. These are incredibly subtle — just tiny “bumps” at the top and bottom of the side of the right-side ear cup indicate the location of two multi-function buttons. Press once and the volume goes up (or down) a level, and press and hold and you can skip tracks forward or back. Once the volume had been turned up on the headphones themselves, the volume was able to reach very high volumes indeed! You would certainly not want to listen to these at maximum volume for any length of time!

The second impression was that the sound was quite flat and lifeless. It wasn’t just neutral, but just seemed dull. I had a look at the Sound+ app and found the equaliser, and was quickly able to change the profile to something I found more pleasing. I just feel they should sound better straight out of the box. I often run my new headphones through several hours of break-in sound waves and white noise, but I haven’t in this case, so may be doing them an injustice here as with many premium headphones, sound often improves dramatically after some initial break in.

I also found that there was initially a bit of a problem with deep base. It sounded clipped and actually caused some kind of resonation inside the ear cup.

The Sound+ app was telling me that there was a firmware update available, so I downloaded that and the improvement in bass was dramatic! It was much less clipped and a lot more rounded — in fact it was very good indeed! In fact, sound quality seemed to be enormously improved throughout the range!

The noise cancelling is the absolute standout feature here though — it is utterly incredible! I know that my QC25s were not the latest generation, but I was astonished at just how good the noise cancelling is on these headphones. It is genuinely superb!

So, finally, I sat down and started to actually listen to some music. I have some tracks that I refer to over and over again when testing headphones, and these just sailed through my test playlist effortlessly.

London Grammar — “If You Wait” 24Bit FLACs – Hannah Reid’s incredible vocal range was displayed superbly, with the subtle instrumentation and production sounding pure and clean. Bass was controlled and smooth. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Florence and the Machine — 24Bit FLACs. Shake it Out is one of my go to tracks for headphone tests. The deep resonance of the church organ style music and the multiple layers of sounds and vocals in this track can definitely bring some headphones to their knees, with the final refrain often disappearing into a mushy mess. Again though, this was another thoroughly enjoyable listen! The second test track was again a 24Bit FLAC of Dog Days are Over — the harp at the beginning of this track needs to be crisp and sharp and well placed and as the track builds it’s layer upon layer of sound, again you can end up with a messy mush. Once again I was treated to a fine performance from these headphones.

Playing some of my current favourite artists just on Spotify and again I was not disappointed — Black Honey’s disco banger “Midnight” sounded full of energy and the deep synth bassline stayed undistorted and I found myself playing air drums and synths and just rocking out to a brilliant track.

Wolf Alice’s “Planet Hunter” is another tough test — Ellie’s crystal cut vocals and subtle vocal layers sounded stunning, and as the song reaches its indie grunge guitar finale, again I was on the air guitar accompanying them!
A bit of more modern pop and again they still coped admirably with Zara Larson’s “I would like”, and Clean Bandit’s Symphony again were reproduced effortlessly.

I have to say that I am incredibly impressed with these headphones!
Are they as good as my Fidelio x2s? Definitely not, but they are a totally different animal and are genuinely not that far behind.

Are they better than my Sennheiser 4.50HDNCs? Again definitely, in fact, just how much better they are came as a bit of a surprise — I know they are in a different price range, but they just leave them standing in terms of noise cancelling and sound quality.

Are they as good at noise cancelling as my Bose QC25s? — Now this, for me, was the biggest surprise. I know my QC25s were not the latest generation of Bose noise cancelling headphones, but I really wasn’t expecting these to match them. Not only did they match them, in my opinion they are significantly superior! I wish I had a newer set of QC30s to compare them to!

My overall impression of these is that they can replace both my Sennheiser daily headphones, and my lost set of Bose QC25s! Will they survive as well with being thrown in my bag every day as my Sennheiser 4.50s have? Only time will tell.

I was also genuinely expecting the lack of APT-X or another similar advance codec was going to adversely affect the sound quality, but quite simply it hasn’t. It may be that the higher bit-rate of the latest version of Bluetooth just doesn’t need a fancy codec to compensate? The very fact that I only just remembered to comment on it at all should tell you that I definitely didn’t miss it!

If you do decide to take the plunge, just make sure you download the App and install any firmware updates, as for me the sound before and after the update were like night and day. I should also add that they have definitely loosened up after just a few hours of use and sound much brighter now.

Overall I am totally won over by this set of headphones which by far exceeded my expectations!

    I'm converted!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOkay, I will never use Alexa for anything and I suggest that you disable Amazon’s sleeper agent from all of your devices, so I won’t review that part of the package. The headphones can connect to your phone, as expected, but when I tried to take a phonecall (via the Messenger app, not a dialled call) with them on the person on the other end couldn’t hear me. Not a big problem.

I mainly used them for listening to my tunes in bed, though it would not connect to my Nokia 5.1. However, my Amazon Fire Tablet found it just fine. Sound quality is good, if a little tinny, though this can be adjusted on the Jabra Sound app to your liking. The battery life is epic, but I found my ears got burning hot after about an hour. The headband was a little awkward on my grotesque skull but that’s hardly the fault of the manufacturer. I couldn’t get much use out of the noise cancellation feature as I used them in bed. Personally, I think that it’s very dangerous to go around in public with headphones muffling your much-needed auditory senses. One must be perpetually aware in the street or on public transport so I’d recommend that you stay safe and restrict yourself to home or office use with these, or any pair of headphones.

Another problem I had is my greasy mop of disgusting hair leaving nasty smudges on the headband and the cushions. As the box art suggests, I’d wipe it down with an anti-bacterial cloth every now and again, as you would a phone screen. A cute little carry case is also included for taking them on holiday or storing in when not in use. Apart from my hellfire ear issue, this is a very nice pair of headphones for personal use in a safe environment.

Semplicemente sublimi!

    UNBOXING
    In confezione troviamo:
    Cuffie
    Cavo Type c
    Cavo jack 3.5
    Switch
    Custodia

    CARATTERISTICHE

    QUALIT SUONO
Qualit suono davvero ECCELLENTE.

Punto decisamente a favore!

    BATTERIA

-Assistente Vocale Integrato Alexa.

    PRO:
-Tante ma Tante Funzioni e Impostazioni.
    -Geolocalizzazione
    -Batteria a Lunga Durata

    CONTRO :

Molto Bene 🙂

    Grazie a tutti

These headphones are The Best I have ever experienced. From opening the box and putting on I was greeted with a voice prompt to pair with my device. Very easy to pair and once done I started to play some steel panther (my favourite). I was literally blown away by the sound quality. It was so clear and loud. The bass levels were amazing. These cancelled any noise around me so I couldn’t hear anything else apart from clear music. Having Alexa built in was a brilliant bonus. The case that comes with it is super sturdy and very good quality and ideal for when traveling. Overall very good premium set of headphones. Strong build quality and very comfortable.

These Headphones have a range of functions, some exclusive to them. For example, you can access and use your Alexa account directly through the phones to listen to music or whatever. You can also use them as a wireless way into your mobile calls. They have the facility to use noise cancelling (ANC) and also to Hear Through, though not at the same time, it seems. The various microphones built into the phones can detect your environment and adjust the sounds you hear automatically when, for example, commuting, or working, or sitting alone listening to music. Oh yes.. you can obviously use them as a pair of Bluetooth enabled headphones to listen to music, audio books and so on.
Being critical, I didn’t find the ANC as good as on other phones I have – ok but not brilliant. The function to detect your audio environment seems a bit hit and miss at present. The overall sound profile is ok but again not the best I’ve heard. On the plus side, the Hear Through, and the Alexa functions are a real bonus. I also like the way the phones detect when they are on or off your ears and automatically cut output when off your ears.
The phones also switch themselves off when you fold them up to be placed in the nice Bose-like case.
The Jabra app is useful and they seem to be updating the firmware to improve functions as time goes on and, presumably, they get feedback like this.
Overall, rather expensive even with all these functions but certainly worth considering if you are in this level of the headphone market.

+ Decent sound quality. I like dance music and these work really well for bass. Nice depth of sound.
+ The sound is all-encompassing as the headphones fit very comfortably, both on my head and over my ears.
+ The different modes REALLY do help! In HearThrough I can comfortably speak and hear what I’m saying to the other person without needing to completely switch off music. If the music is too loud obviously you can’t though. The noise cancellation is excellent! Really blocks out background noise A LOT.
+ They look very smart! I love the colour combination of black and gold. Minimal buttons (and charging connection/3.5mm jack) hidden on the under-side are a great idea and convenient to use.
+ I don’t have Alexa but these headphones work very well using Siri. You can either use the button or just say “hey Siri” as usual and the music stops and Siri pops up on screen.
+ LOVE how they pack up neatly into the carry case. It saves them getting crushed while out and about. The case is semi-hard but not completely.
+ Handy that they switch off automatically when put into a certain position (turning the ear pieces to pack them up).
+ The Jabra app isn’t too feature-heavy as you can do most things on the headphones themselves, but amongst other things allows you a very decent amount of control over the bass, mid range and treble curves just by dragging a few dots.
    – Not overkeen on Jabra’s choice of button functions on the right hand outer headphone. First of all, they aren’t buttons but hidden depressions in the outside of the headphone fabric. This is great looks-wise but if you use them too much the nice fabric will probably get worn out or dirty.
    – Also, It’s very useful to have a “stop music” button built into these hidden buttons but if you press it too long it’s “disconnect via Bluetooth”
Likewise, the volume up button when pressed for longer is skip to next track, however if you don’t press it for long enough you just end up deafening yourself. The opposite is true for volume down/restart track.

I can’t fault much about these headphones but if I was buying them myself I think that I’d be overpaying a bit simply for the Alexa integration that I won’t ever use. If this is important to you then go for it! They certainly look, and sound, great.

From the minute you open the smartly presented packaging you get the distinct impression these headphones are going to be something special, and boy they don’t disappoint.

The physical design oozes with a sense of build quality and clever innovative touches – although I have to say, given their size, I don’t think I’ll be walking around with these on.

Automatically turning on and off whenever unfolded or folded respectively there’s no chance of forgetfulness causing drained batteries which, by the way, last for a really long time too.

The minimalistic buttons are hardly visible, but perfectly positioned in just the right place to prevent any blind fumbling around in an effort to locate them.

The automatic noise cancelling (ANC) is really something else; you almost have to try it to believe it. I tested it whilst sat next to my bouncing washing machine during a spin cycle and I’d estimate the Jabra Elite 85h easily gave an effective 70-80% in total noise reduction. If for no other reason but this amazing feat, I’ll be bringing them on every plane flight hereafter.

The sound quality, as you’d expect, is utterly sublime; crisp, sharp treble, excellent clarity, and oodles of bass. The in-App equaliser allows you to further fine tune settings to your heart’s content and the sound quality of voice calls is, again, quite excellent too.

In the case you’ll find 3.5mm jacks to connect your headphones to a corresponding output, e.g. PC, Planes, laptops. Also included is a USB charging cable which, given how short it is, forms the basis of my only complaint regarding these headphones. The USB cable is too short to reach a normal height socket and I eventually resorted to placing the headset atop my PC for the purposes of charging.

I particularly love having full blown access to Alexa via my phone. Any song I want from my Amazon music account is just one easy request away and given how faultlessly the Jabra Elite 85h performs in every manner, I can’t believe that they wouldn’t work just as well with any of the other big-name smart assistants out there.

In conclusion, I’m so impressed that I’ll be taking these with me on every plane, train and coach journey I go on in the future.

Easily the best headphones I’ve ever tried – in my life

I love, love, love these headphones. They come in a fabulous leather zip case. To turn them on just twist the ear covers and connect via Bluetooth. You can also download an app where you can really customise your settings. Turning the volume up is done via the right ear headphone, or your phone, whichever is easiest.

There is also one touch access to Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant, all done via the headset. Two year warranty included which covers water or dust damage.

The sound quality is second to none. Seriously, it’s super clear and you can’t hear anything else but the music. I adore these.

Have given these to my son and he is hooked. This is his review:

The headphones work great, the audio quality is amazing and the Built in Alexa works really well and the headphones even have features such as pausing the music when you take them off and that they have an app that lets you optimise how you listen to your music depending on your location and the song your listening to. Overall it is a really good product and I would heavily recommend it.

The battery life is really great- lasts at least 30 hours.
    Fabulous!

First impressions – WOW. Sound quality is absolutely unreal, and so comfortable to the point you dont feel them on your ears.

was not overly bothered about changing headphones, wont namedrop the set i had previously but they where very good and make consoles… . As soon as i tried these though i had to have them. The difference for me was night and day to be honest. The hear through setting is amazing. No longer am i shouting at my wife when she asks me a simple question while im listening to Metallica.

    A few points –
Sound quality – I love my music, I play guitar and like to think i have a good ear for sound. These are definitely the best ive used so far. Only problem is that you need to make sure your giving it a good source, and standard apple music, amazon music or spotify just dont cut it!
Business – Using them for work with skype is really clear and solid. And with hear through it just adds to that, knowing your not the shouty man in the office.
Multiple syncs – Synced to my Iphone and my Macbook flawlessly.
App – The app is pretty impressive. Ability to change bass, treble, etc. Change your smart assistant (mines set to alexa), its pretty comprehensive.
Auto on off – Very nice. My previous set, i would always forget to turn off and end up with dead battery life.
Case – Just feels solid and nice. I know thats not really important but it adds to the whole product.

WOW - Smartsound is a gamechanger - use a good source.

I do a heck of a lot of traveling for work and over the last 3 decades have worked my way through most of the premium brands of noise reduction headphones, and this offering from Jabra is easily up there with the best … and at 280 possibly represents good value for money.

To get the most out of them you need to download the app …. then you have some control over EQ and language … sleep time etc.

Supplied in a study and stylish zipped case and has a 3.5 jack cable, a shortish USB C cable and an plane style adapter.

You can also listen whist charging, so it might be expedient to carry a longer charge cable with you.

Sound quality is very good, and the volume is louder than I want. I like the Hear Through function as I often walk through the town and it means you can hear approaching cars/vans etc, whereas ANC pretty much blocks everything out. I used them mowing the lawn yesterday and could only tell it was working by the vibration through the handle.

The smartsound tech seems to work fine, it can certainly differentiate between quiet and noisy environments.

Controls on the go are pretty intuitive and you can select which voice assistant you want … Siri for me, but easy to swap.

A full charge lasts a commendable 35 hours, so more than enough for the longest flight plus airport time.

I found them easy to adjust and the talk through feature works for me.

Oh how beautiful these look and feel and are nestled in a beautiful case too!
The sound is very good but not overly loud (I don’t know why) I spent ages trying to adjust them to go to a higher volume. I re-read the user guide on the app but it just seems to be not loud enough for me. I think that is me and not the headphones. My husband says he put them on and they were really loud.
I have connected through my phone and Samsung tablet and have been playing my Amazon Prime music.
I have also been listening to my latest audio book and it makes a change not having ear buds falling out all the time.
I love the way you take them off to stop the playback and they hang neatly flat around your neck.

I think I will find the optimum listening levels for me by playing with the adjustments on the app.
All in all I would highly recommend.

    Fantastic quality, great carry case.

    CONTIENE:
    – Auriculares cancelacin de ruido activa
    – Estuche de transporte con asa.
    – Adaptador aviones

    – Cable USB – USB tipo C
    – Instrucciones/mantenimiento en castellano

EMBALAJE.

Me encanta.

    * PREMESSA:
    Ma entriamo subito nel dettaglio:

    * CONFEZIONE E ACCESSORI:

    * LE CUFFIE:
Stupende, bellissime.

    * TECNOLOGIA:
    Tecnicamente parlando, offrono tantissimo.

    * QUALITA’ AUDIO WIRELESS:
L’amplificatore interno, offre un audio cristallino, ricco, dettagliato e ben bilanciato, senza mai esagerare in bassi estremamente pompati o acuti striduli.

    * QUALITA’ AUDIO CABLATA:

    * CANCELLAZIONE ATTIVA DEL RUMORE (ANC) e HEARTHRU:
    Cos come ad un attentissimo e ripetuto ascolto, ho notato che questa funzione tende ad attenuare di pochissimo il volume a ad alterare alcune frequenze, rendendole “robotiche”;
    Jabra secondo me ha quindi fatto un lavoro eccelso, in quanto questi sgradevoli effetti che riducono volume e qualit del suono sono stati ridotti al minimo, pur essendoci;

    * MICROFONI e CONVERSAZIONE:

    * APPLICAZIONE JABRA SOUND +:

    Ad esempio potete regolare il tempo prima che si spengano se non usate, disattivare gli annunci in cuffia o la pausa/ripresa automatica del brano;

    * CONCLUSIONI:
Inutile girarci intorno, ho trovato queste cuffie veramente stupende.

These are expensive headphones and come suitably packed in a smart zippered case with an audio cable, together with an aircraft adapter, and a short micro-C USB cable; a graphic on the case shows how to fit the headphones into the case as it isn’t intuitive. The headphones are charged by connecting the micro-C USB cable, charging took a bit over 2 hours and a charge seemed to last forever, 36 hours is claimed. Unfolding the headphones switches them on and there is a spoken statement of charge level and connection status. To connect it needs the Jabra Sound+ app; I downloaded it to an android phone and the headphones connected without problem, it then updated the software. Sound quality is very high, a good clean sound with good bass and clear treble. Sound can be adjusted with a graphic equaliser in the app if needed. A button on the left earpiece selects between off, hear through and ANC, automatic noise control, this works well and the ANC is pretty effective at blocking out most external noise; the Smart sound feature automatically selects the mode depending on surroundings, it is accurate, however I found the constant checking annoying and I turned it off. I set the headphones to use Alexa, this worked well although I found speaking with headphones on a bit unnatural and there was no feedback from the microphone switch to confirm that the microphones were on and listening. The headphones look very smart in the blue colour, they’re beautifully made and although a little heavy are very comfortable.

These Jabra headphones definitely are worth the price when it comes to packaging, storing box and especially the connectivity ease and noise cancellation feature. When I first opened them my very first thought was, these are BIG! comparing to many top brands in the market these definitely feel big and plain at first sight. However once you hold them out of the box their lite weight doesn’t make them look that bad. Perhaps Jabra needs to refine the design a little otherwise weight wise they were quite lite. Connectivity was super easy (tested with both iOS and Android devices). Sound quality is excellent! this is also due to the outstanding noise cancelling feature which enhances the music experience without interference of surrounding noises. Battery life was great for me (about 4 days) but I believe I can’t really give a reliable review on this as I am moderate user (listen to around an hour ow two of music a day). Wearing them felt chunky not for me since they are lite but many people made a comment that they looked too big for my head (I have an average size head by the way). One last feature which I haven’t fully tested yet but will update my review as soon as I get to try it was the ALEXA. I am not a big fan of Siri, Bixby and Alexa etc hence that is last on my list. Finally, I would conclude my review as follows:

Pros: Excellent sound quality, great noise cancelling, easy connectivity, built in Alexa (for those who use it), nice carrier box.
Cons: Too big and chunky, quite boring plain colour all around. A little use of silver/ gold would give them premium look to match the price.

Great sound with excellent noise cancelling

Easy to set up with phone, easy to pair. Only problem I can’t see how to get the app (and its functions) working on a Surface Pro. Without it can’t make a number of the adjustments to sound experience which reduces the quality. When these are available from phone they are really good.
Excellent sound for folk, pop, rock, jazz and voice. Not so good on orchestral. Whilst with the folk, pop rock, audio etc it sounded as if I was close to the band in an intimate venue or on the set, with an orchestra I felt as if I was listening outside the hall or from behind a curtain. It didn’t have the immediacy of the other types of music. That being said it was still possible to really hear and Identify individual instruments.
I have got the Alexa function to work for audible and amazon music but it can be a bit hit an miss if Alexa will wake up. Like as not another Alex in the house will respond to my request or I end up connecting to Audible via my phone.
The sound quality is great and the headphones are really comfortable.
I’m not sure about the colour, it works better on the headphones, but on the rather swish case not so good. I am afraid to say that the case doesn’t look like a case with headphones but as if it is the discreet home of some “feminine product” not sure what but not headphones!!

I’ve been testing these for the last couple of weeks now and, quite simply, they’re a phenomenal set of earphones. Where to begin? Well let’s start with the comfort and form factor. Straight out of the box everything has a premium look and feel (which should be at least expected given the price point: but more on that later). Considering the onboard tech etc they’re exceptionally comfortable. I love the way they turn on when ‘untwisted’ and placed on your head (and automatically pause music when removed — which starts again when replaced). Bluetooth connectivity is rock solid: I’ve not had any drop out even from two rooms away (which is significantly superior to any Bluetooth source I’ve had before). Charging is quick and power is impressively long lasting (the remaining charge is notified via the Jabra app and also the in-ear ‘announcer’). Controls are wonderfully intuitive and work well. Control of track selection/volume etc is done via the easily locatable (but highly discrete) buttons on the right earcup (and they are precise and distinct in operation).

The ANC is effective. I have a pair of Bose QC20 earbuds with ANC and I would say that there’s very little between them. But where these 85h’s score big is the various modes you can have and how you can tailor the sound to your preference (once you have downloaded the Jabra earphone app). There’s three basic environmental settings (commute, in public and in private) plus ‘my moment’. The last two allows a lot of personalisation in setting the EQ levels of the earphones via the simple EQ slider graphic (and kudos for Jabra for making this interface so slick and straight forward). ANC can also be easily controlled/toggled on or off (or hear through) via the button located on the underside of the left earphone (which again is easily locatable and, when pressed, there is an audio announcement to confirm which option has been selected).

And so to the sound: at this price I would expect nothing less than hugely impressive and detailed – and they absolutely deliver. Even on a flat EQ they produce a wonderfully balanced sound throughout the range:satisfying bass, great mids and clear, clean trebles (but without a hint of harshness). They sound even better when you play with the EQ settings more to your liking. Good soundstaging and with subtle details coming through well (and pleasingly they sound as at home with classical as they do with rock). Truly they are the best sounding earphones I’ve had the pleasure of using (albeit the dearest).

So are they worth the outlay? After a lot of thought I’m inclined to say yes they are: for comfort, sound, practicality and effective ANC they score on all fronts. I cannot think of any weak areas: they are so well engineered and designed (and with the experience of the end user in mind) that I’m loath to give them anything less than the full five stars. Pitched almost exactly against the more established market leaders they would have to be pretty special: and they are.

    Recommended.

The sound quality is excellent. Very good bass, nice mids, and treble. With high-quality MP3s or even better Flac, the experience is great. I have listened via Bluetooth for hours on end and have experienced a Bluetooth disconnection, so no dropped connections. The range is also very good.

Bluetooth Connection is one of the easiest I have experienced. Once they are paired, subsequent connections are even easier. With no power buttons, they are a delight to operate, sensing the orientation of the earcups turns them on or off. Once they turn on, they automatically connect to a paired Bluetooth device.

The App is good. Everything works great except SmartSound which tends to randomly switch from ‘Private’ Moment to Public Moment without much change in the environment. Sometimes it can switch from Private to public and back in like 30 seconds and each time with voice prompts. SmartSound tends to work well in very noisy places where it tends to keep the Headphones in the ‘Public’ Moment.

Built-quality is very good. They look amazing and feels well-built.

    Great sound quality

These Elite 85h headphones from Jabra are astonishing in some ways. For the price they are excellent value but the astonishing bit is how good these headphones sound.
In the attractive box you get the headphones packed in a nice looking and solid hard storage case, a USB charging lead and a wired headphone lead and jack. It’s quick and easy to get connected.
The right headphone acts as the power switch -when placed flat down the power is off, twisting round 90 degrees powers up. The right headphone also contains volume up/down buttons and pause control.
The headphones look and feel like a premium product – the build quality is excellent and as a result they are very comfortable to wear – There is good noise isolation due to the clamping of the leather earphone cups – but the clamping isn’t too tight either.

The ANC is good – but doesn’t quite suppress noise as well as the Sony 1000xm3 – it’s still more than adequate for most situations – and it works better than most… the most noticeable difference is with conversation – the Elite 85h lets in just a bit more noise…. there’s no feeling of pressure when in use

Sound quality really is outstanding – good definition and clarity – just the right amount of high end resolution without getting too tiring and an excellent well detailed bass without being overpowering in any way – “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac sounds fantastically detailed and intricate whilst “Hey Nineteen” by Steely Dan Is also a highlight, the tight meaning of keyboard and rhythm guitar often overcomes cheaper headphones but not these. I hadn’t associated the Jabra brand with audiophile headphones so wasn’t expecting this quality – they really are superb with just the right amount of stage spread too, and will leave you coming back for more.
The Jabra sound+ app complements the headphones and allows you to tweak the EQ, tweak ANC settings for different situations – ANC on, ANC off, or Hear through (allows outside sounds to be ported through the built in microphones) – and there is a Smart sound setting that calculates the type of environment you’re in and sets the most appropriate feature combination for you. I found the app was a bit clunky and buggy – with no change in environment the Smart sound app would change settings several times , announcing it to me each time. I turned it off during a Pink Floyd track as it was too distracting and was very irritating…
Overall though these are great headphones, are rugged, will last well and sound astonishing- very good value at this price and well worth a look (and listen)

This is the first pair of over the ear headphones I’ve ever had. I have to say I’m a fan of having no wires. The headphones came partially charged (around 65%) but I left them to fully charge before use. You have to download the app to get full benefit of the features. (Jabra sound+ app)

The charger is a c type charger. It also comes with a wire and a double Jack. There are full instructions for use. I registered the product with Jabra to get the 2 year warranty. I liked that the phones come with a hard case to store them in as well.

They paired easily with my phone and after some tweaking the sound to how I liked it I was very happy with the sound quality. One or two of the features I haven’t experienced yet as I am not fan of voice assistants. The volume is easy to control by touching the right ear. I tried taking calls as well and the recipients said the sound quality was very good.

They are comfortable to wear and the noise cancellation works well in reducing outside noise.

    Very Good

My current favourite headphones, the Master and Dynamic MW60 are great but they lack one killer feature of other cans – active noise cancelling. It’s for this reason that I was excited to give these headphones from Jabra, usually known for their in ear running buds, a go. I slipped them on and pumped up the volume to find out if they could take the new top spot.

First impressions were good, they have a decent build quality is reasonable while the padding around the ears and the headband combined with the lightweight item make them comfortable to wear. The buttons and ports look a little tacky as does the slightly yellow beige colour but it all goes together well, stores effectively in the case and feels decent, so far so good.

To the all important sound quality – trebles and mids are good but lack a little bit of clarity. Bass is acceptable but again lacks the clarity and isn’t as punchy as it could be. Don’t get me wrong they are very good but I’m also holding them to a pretty high bar here. This also doesn’t seem to deteriorate with battery life – which itself is pretty impressive and can be handily charged via USB C.

Innovative features is where these do however come out on top, nice things like pausing when you take them off your ears and turning on when you unfold them is great. The active noise cancellation is supposed to be the star of the show though and while it might not yet be the best on the market – it’s pretty close. The automatic adjusting to surroundings (once you’ve gone through the compulsory app setup, something that was simple though unnecessary with other devices) is a pretty neat feature and worked well in the scenarios I tried it in.

Overall therefore you’ve got an all round decent and close to the best set of headphones I’ve used. If it’s innovative features you’re after then look no further while the rest is pretty good too.

I’ve spent a lot of time comparing these with my Bose QuietComfort 35 II headphones. They at least equal and sometimes exceed Bose on performance in just about every respect – sound quality, noise cancellation, comfort and battery life. The ear cups are particularly comfortable, although higher weight counteracts that. I haven’t run any battery life tests yet but the Jabra is certainly impressive.

I like having Alexa built in, and the way the sound and noise cancellation is adjusted as I move between environments is very clever. Unlike another reviewer, I didn’t have any problems with the sound adjusting randomly. Auto pause/play works well — really useful when I was a hospital patient and doctors and nurses frequently came to talk to me. Jabra should survive rain better than Bose, if the spec is to be believed, not that I plan to find out.

Sound quality on calls is excellent, for both parties.

The Jabra Sound+ and Bose Connect apps both have wide-ranging capabilities and very usable, intuitive interfaces.

The only thing I’m less happy about with the 85h is size and weight. The headphones in their case weigh about 500 grams vs. 435 for the QC 35. The headphones on their own weigh 306 grams vs. 237 and are significantly more bulky than Bose. The Jabra case is a good 210 x 180 x 60 mm, Bose only 210 x 150 x 55. That makes quite a difference in hand baggage when travelling. One star deducted, but the size and weight won’t matter to everyone.

One last consideration — colour. The ones I was sent for review were beige. Combined with the bulkiness, I really dislike the appearance when wearing them, and Mrs Gumby agrees. Apart from anything else, I feel they’ll look grubby before long, the case especially. Don’t let that put you off buying, though, just be sure to order black or blue unless you’re really sure you want beige.

I use headphones mainly when travelling, so my preference is Bose, albeit a little reluctantly. If I used them mainly in one place, I’d choose the Jabra. There are plenty of other options, of course, but I haven’t tried any of them and can’t comment.

Bottom line: the Elite 85h is a superb product and would make a great buy, as long as you’re ok with the size and weight — try before making a decision, if at all possible.

So I’ve been very lucky. Over the past years I’ve reviewed a LOT of top end headphones. From 1k Grado RSi right down, with all the variations of wired and wireless, in ear, over ear, on ear etc.
The comparison I was going to make was with B&O and Sony and Bowers and Wilkins. They all make a similar headset in an approximately the same price bracket (300-600) and they have all incorporated displacement sensors (The headphones pause if you take them off etc.)

So first let me say I was gob smacked by these. Ok so no points for cool brand (On the tube you want to be seen wearing B&O right?) but everything else … just blew me away. Lets take B&O. If you have seen my reviews you know it has problems with cutting out if you tilt your head for example, Sony are particularly comfortable and B&W get overwhelmed by blue tooth saturation in busy stations and airports (like Liverpool St Station in London) leading to songs cutting in and out.
well lets start with comfort. The lambs skin leather headset is truly gorgeous. So soft they melt onto your skin. You really feel you don’t ever want to be rough with these headphones. They are truly comfortable beyond belief. Only B&W came close (I’ve had those for ages and they are still lovely to wear). Tech wise … wow … these are the Tesla to your Renault Zoe. They got it perfectly right … fold out the earphones and they come on. Fold them in and they switch off. The voice telling you what’s going on is achingly clear and perfect. No dodgy speech from these … crystal clear and right HERE is were you get the first inkling of what’s to come !
Everything … and I mean everything in terms of tech is better than any other headset. The noise cancelling … the ambient throughput (in a station you can remove the sound and noise cancelling so you can hear announcement.) The comms with your phone and app is perfect. The button position, battery charging, just everything this was spot on.

I held my breath when I finally got over the tech and decided to play my test album (India Arie – Acoustic Soul : Download it and try it)
I needn’t have worried … the sound was sublime. You could hear the fingers sliding up the frets of the guitar, her breathing as she sang …. the details and base was perfect.

I am left with simply 2 comments.
    1) Buy a set. Seriously. Try it and remember if you don’t like it Amazon give you a month to send them back. LOL …. trust me though … you won’t be sending these back. Unless all you care about is the brand name these blow everything else I’ve tried to date away.
    2) Jabra …. what the hell? why has it taken you so long to come into this market? These headsets are phenomenal ! It’s so unfortunate that your name is associated with telephone headsets, because these deserve serious recognition.

    Jabra v B&O v B&W v Sony

    Decent sound and reliability

The packaging and accessories are very nice. A decent tactile zipped storage case and charge / wired cables are included.

The headphones switch on when unfolded which is a nice touch. A voice then guides you to pair with your device which was seamless with my 4 year old Android phone.

They feel very well made, a little plasticky on the folding joints, which hopefully will cause no problems though. Also easy to operate – pause play and volume up down on the right cup.
The wireless connection was faultless and you forget they are not wired.
Finally they are very comfortable if a little heavier/bulkier than I’d ideally choose.

In use they provide a lovely layered sound, good separation and a wonderful clarity. Bass is not exaggerated but punchy. Just as I like. No wooliness either. The attack and the reaction of these ‘phones to song start and stops is excellent.
A variety of music was initially played from heavy rock, classic rock, through indie, dance, pop old and new and some of my favourite test tracks I love to compare with. All great. I forgot about them and just enjoyed my music. What it’s all about, surely

If I was being very picky I would like a warmer possibly even more punchy sound for dance style in particular, but for bluetooth headphones they are excellent and should satisfy all but very serious HiFi enthusiasts. A little overpriced but I imagine compare favourably with the competition.
