I had a shark mop for years which I loved but it finally gave up the ghost and I needed a replacement. Unfortunately the shark one was no longer sold so I had to search elsewhere and I completely love this! It shifts more dirt, easy to use and I wish I had got it soone
We’ve just refurbished our kitchen and had Amtico fitted. Too much adhesive was used – turning it into a bit of a nightmare. Solvents (as instructed by Amtico) helped lift the adhesive – but it was still not looking great. I know you shouldn’t steam clean Amtico – but I pretty much had nothing to loose as we were on the verge of replacing the floor. Well, the SC2 is amazing. Floor looks so much better and I’m sure it will continue to improve with (sparing!) use.
Fab product, I have various Kercher products and never disappointed. Easy to use, cleans floor well. Only drawback is the cable is too short so I have to use an extension lead which is why I’ve scored 4 star.
The biggest problem with this steam cleaner is it does not stand up by itself. For the money, I expect that basic function (a cheaper Vax I have, stands up fine)!
But this steam cleaner does clean the floor well. It is heavy though. I am disabled and the few negative points I posted do impact how often I use it. Wish I could use it more.
You only get ONE CLOTH. Which is crazy, as one does not do all the floors. So buy more cloths (which are x 2 for 20).
Love it for its sturdiness. Has a filter cartridge inside so should last longer than the others. They all seem to scale up or start leaking after a while. It seems to steam through the entire base thing and not just bits of it. Very nice to handle and as I said sturdy. It doesn’t feel like it is going to break. Some people complained about the length of the cable and I was worried but it is exactly the same length as all the other steamer’s cable. It feels more expensive than the previous ones I had. Am happy with it. Would recommend.
This keeps our wood floors pristine without using chemicals. It’s easy to use and the floor is dry in minutes. The cleaning cloths are easily machine washed after soaking in hot water for a while. It’s a pity the cable is not longer but I just use and extension lead.
Steamer is fantastic, only downside is that the cable is too short.
The device is good it cleans well but it is quite heavy and the cable is far too short. I had to buy a single plug extension for it as I live in an open plan house and I couldn’t even get it to the end of the kitchen without having to unplug and find another socket. Admittedly I prefer my old vax (handle snapped after 3 years so thought I’d try something else)
This is a really good product. It makes you want to mop the floor more often. The great thing is that it is so hot, it does not require detergent. It cleans with heat.
I use it on tiles in the kitchen and wooden floors in the living space. So it gets used a lot. It heats up very quickly and is ready for use in seconds.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that it should come with some replacement cloths because they get dirty quickly. I had to go and order them very quickly.
his is by far the sturdiest steam cleaner I have ever had, very strong handle. Great pad shape. every thing about this machine is great. I wish I had got one sooner.
I have the FC3 floor polisher which is good but not as easy and hygienic as this Sc2 really impressed it’s lightweight hygienic easy to assemble and use , but BUY extra towel mops they are easy to change , Velcro fastening but the steam will ensure you need extra mop heads to complete the job if you want to do large areas ! Five stars deserved
We have tried a few steamers and this is by far the best. It’s not flimsy but it’s also not industrial. Easy to use and does a great job.
Don’t buy cheap steamers that don’t last. This is quality through and through.

I already own the cylinder Karcher SC4 steamer which is about 10 years old and still working perfectly (I only use filtered water to reduce limescale) but this model specifically for floors only is much better suited for this task.
I much prefer steaming over mopping because to me, the floors feel properly clean. This Karcher leaves the vinyl with a matt finish, and based off the colour of the white cloths, it speaks for itself. Really easy to chuck these in the machine afterwards, it uses very little water, and its just much more pleasant not using chemicals.
Its incredibly lightweight and easy to use, well-balanced and the swivel head makes it very nimble. It can rotate 90 degrees to get in very tight areas as I have shown in one of the photos (this isnt mentioned as a feature but few steam mops do this) This model is also ready to use in less than 40 seconds from plugging it in so its far quicker to grab and go compared to the SC4.
I think this SC2 had some sort of pump to aid the pressure of the steam. I’ve not seen this with other mops, but it really helps. Even dried-on wet cat food is removed in one go.
The floor head is also very low profile and fits a couple of inches under my fridge for example. Being a Karcher product, it feels very well made and is well designed. The microfibre pads are slightly larger than the head itself, so it cleans right up to the edge. I think many issues others have mentioned in terms of leaving the floors too wet come from people using this like a Vileda or Flash spray mop. As per the instructions of this device, push and pull the mop at no more than 12inches (30cm) per second, which is half the speed of vacuuming for reference. This won’t damage floors but creates enough heat for the water dry in 2-3 minutes. This also kills most bacteria using it at a slower speed.
I also use filtered water form a Brita jug which goes a long way to reducing streaks on glossy surfaces, and protecting the steamer long term. It comes with a clever limescale cartridge which helps with this anyway.
This doesn’t apply to me as I have all-sealed floors, but there is a parquet setting which reduces the amount of steam for unsealed or more delicate flooring.
Karcher sell a carpet glider plastic attachment that can fit onto this, for freshening up carpets. I have it and its decently effective.
Also, you can buy a pack of the velcro-backed microfibre pads from amazon (3rd party or genuine Karcher) cheaply. If you have a lot of hard floors, its worth buying some because the pads get dirty quickly.
My only grip is the power cable; it could do with being half as long again.

Just happened to see this advertised in The Sunday Times – bought it straight away and have not regretted it. It really does steam and clean the floors. Easy to use and store. Only comment, it is somewhat heavy especially if you have reached your eighties!!! But I love it.

A much improved product over my previous Vac steam mop, but the power cable is much too short and the fact that the machine isn’t self-standing is annoying as I have to keep stopping to move the mop to the next power point. I would gladly have paid more for this machine if it had these 2 features.

This is one of the best products I have ever used. I love steam cleaning my floors! It makes them shine and I love knowing the steam kills the germs, the matt picks up any dirt and the swivel handle gets into those really hard to clean corners beautifully. Just throw your dirty matt into the washing machine and it comes out clean and ready to be used again! Works so well on all floor surfaces of my house. Steam mop cleans my floors where damp moping still leaves a slight look of dirt. I highly recommend steam mop to make your hard floors look their best.
Our Hoover steam cleaner had stopped working. We studied Which Magazine reports and this was a recommended ‘best buy’ . Appreciably better than the Hoover cleaner needless to say.

We have one of the shark steam cleaners that detaches to do the tiles ect (which I rarely use) but it’s fairly big and bulky where as this is sleek, simple to use, small and it works just aswell. Steams my floor with ease and without any effort on my part. I would recommend this.

This is well put together, is good and solid, and works a treat. It is a quality engineered cleaner. Really simple to use and come with complete instructions. It does a fantastic job of cleaning without any chemical or cleaning products. Apart from not environmental side of things, not having to pay for these products in their plastic bottles is going to add up as well. I could not recommend this enough. Easy and cheap to use, and more than anything green.
With SC3 the combined cable and steam pressure hose means I don’t need extension cable during the mopping process but the SC2 it is necessary in order to reach everywhere. (This cable is 4.7m long but has no steam pressure hose to reach another metre.)
I predict the SC3 will fail earlier than the SC2 because the steam pressure hose doesn’t come with piece of rubber cable gland protector; i.e. where the cable goes into the mop handle. As you push and pull the mop the hose flexes and chafs against the hard plastic recess of the handle, so this is where I predict it will fail first. Very annoying because almost all consumer electrical product, such as irons where the cable flexes a lot, would come with such a gland protector.

I love this mop ,I have had a steam cleaner before but this one is so much better .its so easy to use and is light weight and compact which makes it easy to store ,its easy to fill the water container and the flex is a decent length , The floors are really clean and dry very quickly ,I have bought replacement cleaning pads which wash well, cleaning the floors has become a lot easier and iv chucked my mop out .
his steamer for cleaning our family room, kitchen and den, all connected with tiled floors. The steamer cleans them very well. Amazingly, only requiring one .really does only take 30 seconds to heat up. No residue water left on the floor either.

I use this on my kitchen floor tiles and it works perfectly. It keeps the tiles sparklingly clean and it’s very quick and easy to use. You receive this in a long box so there’s hardly and setup required. Just take it out of the box, connect the mop head and add some water. In 30 seconds, the steam cleaner is ready for action.

The only things I don’t like about it are that it is too heavy and doesn’t have a spare cloth. Other than that it is really good. Quite powerful, it doesn’t take too long to warm up and produce the steam. Cleaning is new level now with this steam cleaner. I had cheaper make before that one and floor wasn’t very good cleaned even after repeated few times. This one cleans perfect.
This Karcher SC 2 Upright Easyfix Steam Cleaner is exactly what I wanted, no chemicals and no smears. It is so easy to use, weightless when handling and so adaptable. It glides along my wooden floors and tiles perfectly. The different settings are great for different flooring types. I would say that I have not used this mop on my expensive vinyl tiles as I did not want to damage the tile. The only negative I have is that you get one microfibre cloth. Ideally, you want two so that you can put one in the wash and use another. But overall, I am impressed. It heats up and is ready to use within just a minute. It takes less time than using a traditional mop or lug a steam machine around and leaves my floors hygienically clean.

The use of steam to clean is well known and this Karcher steam cleaner uses that very well. The unit itself is nicely made. It is sturdy although doesn’t seem to like being stood up on its own, which is a little frustrating. Use is easy. Affix the microfibre cloth head and ensure you have the setting right to hard or stone floor. Initial turning on takes a little while to get going the first time. But once the steam gets going it is a very quick way to mop large hard floors, which we have. Compared to a traditional mop, the floors dry out so much more quickly and feel just cleaner. The microfibre head is easy to clean and the dirt it picked up was quite astonishing. The cord is quite long, although we could have done with a little more! But the cleaner is sturdy, very well made and oozes the quality you get with Karcher products. We have a few and they all have lasted years. The ease of using this steam cleaner and the results you get, make it a very useful cleaning aid. We won’t go back to the old mop and bucket.

Right away out of the Box you can feel the Quality and difference from the typical cheaper ones at first it seems like its not working because it takes time for the presure and heat to build up once you have held the trigger down for around 50 seconds it starts to steam it will make a small vibration and pumping sound
the floor piece is removable for cleaning and storage and sticks on with a strong velcro pad its white so in my house it won’t stay that way for long.
but it can also be swilled in the sink or placed in the washing machine and its easy to use
The swivel on the foot is good it sits flat well on the floor and pretty much glides without too much effort
It is also very well made wwith a light weight frame a heavy duty handle and a good body most of the weight is in the body which helps when using it as it gives you a little more stability and control
there is 2 settings on the handle one for hard floor and one for softer surfaces
there is a filter that comes with it a Anti calcification filter which fits snugg in the water tank there is a level on the tank for the max fill line which is clear and when your using the Steamer the Red light will come on the Handle when the water needs a refil or is too low
the steam is soft it doesn’t bellow out its more of a hot subtle steam but thorough the surface is prety much Dry right away and even after tilting etc there are no leaks or wet areas that would need further attention i was very impressed with this right out the box if i had one request it would be maybe design a telescopic Arm some how for easier storage and maybe some attachments for Corners etc
but other than that there are 2 hooks for the cable to be wrapped on for storage and its not very big so fits under my stairs when not in use A very good product and i Can vouch for Karcher anyway as i already have 2 other products from them which i have had for years with out failure or issues My Jet wash works like new and its almost 10 years old

Very easy to use with preset steam options. It was ready within seconds. The tigger control allowed me to use steam where I wanted it. It was a nice dry stream to which made the floor dry super quick. The steam got off dirty and marks off the floor but I found spraying it with some floor cleaner bedfore hand helped get the stubborn marks off even easier.
Snapping the floor cloth on was very simple and it was washable so I can use it again and again. The whole device was made vry well, like all karcher stuff, it was robust and had a nice long cable, I did not need to use an extension. It was quick to put away after. It is now something I use all the time due to it’s quick start up and easy to use design.
The mop heats up quickly — and is ready to go within 30 seconds, as promised — though does need a little bit of run-in after the installation of a new descaling cartridge. The water tank is easy to fill — you just lift off the back of the mop, and unscrew the lid — with a nice, wide opening allowing it to be filled directly from a tap.
The mop works well on our hard floor surfaces — we have a mix of Thermastone (a surface treated, sealed, coloured cork), wood, LVT, and vinyl. Although the mop is suitable for sealed hard surfaces in general, there are only two settings on the handle: wood (gentle heat), and tile/stone (high heat). When switched on, this defaults to the higher setting, but to err on the side of caution I have used the lower setting on all of our hard flooring surfaces, none of which have the toughness of stone/tile. This cleans well and easily. The light weight and slim design make it easy to carry around the house, and to move between storeys.
The mop is well made, and feels strong and durable despite its light weight. However, it is a single purpose mop — and whilst this might seem like a good idea if you only have hard floor surfaces, this doesn’t include a carpet glider if you have mixed flooring types, and doesn’t include a lift-off multipurpose steamer that can be used to clean bathroom and kitchen tiles, or for general, chemical-free, deep cleaning.
This will clean a variety of sealed hard floors including tile, wood and vinyl. We used it on our kitchen floor, which are pottery tiles. It cleaned it well and very quickly; we only used about a third of the tank of water in doing so.
The manufacturer claims that it will kill up to 99.99% of bacteria with a thorough clean and I have no reason to doubt this given the colour of the soft cloth mop after one use; this will be a boon to us as we have to clean the kitchen floor daily as the cats use this to access and return from the garden.
It is also relatively light and the handle has some flexibility to allow you to easily clean under furniture etc. You only receive one soft cloth mop with the machine, but it is relatively inexpensive to purchase others; we have bought 5 (generic) ones for around 15 and, of course, the original and these are washable and reusable time and again. We are pleased with this purchase and are happy to recommend.
I was very pleased with the quality of cleaning and the speed with which I managed to get the kitchen floor absolutely spotless.
I have a mixture of hardwood & tile flooring to test this on and so far it’s full marks all round. Normally I have to go over the same patch several times, but this has picked up all of the hair and other daily grime on the first sweep. Impressive – it makes the cleaning process quicker and with less tension in my arms. I don’t even need to refill the water tank during my daily sweep through our bungalow – the first fill is enough for me to clean all of the floors [between 5 to 10 minutes].
The 30 second heat-up of the cleaner, easy handle adjustment to make the cleaner flat enough to fit under heavy tables, and the cleaner being light to use, combine to make cleaning quicker and more comfortable,in comparison to every other mop/steam cleaner/vacuum I’ve used over the years- so far I haven’t suffered any of my usual backaches afterwards.
There also seems to be a descaling attachment which I didn’t pay any attention to when buying but actually this will be really useful living in a hard water area and I guess will ensure the longevity of the machine?!
Overall really impressed and happy I opted for the mop version of a steam cleaner. My kitchen floors will be so much easier to clean and keep clean!
