Okay so I’ve waited about 2-3 weeks to write this review, to give it a fair chance and so I can be as accurate as I can be. I will start off by saying that I was actually desperate for one of the Sage Barista Pro coffee machines, but even on Prime Day Deals it only went down to about 450. I just can’t justify spending that much on a coffee machine, let alone their RRPs can go from 600-1200. I got this one on Prime Day for 190 split over 5 months, which seemed reasonable seeing as it retails at 450 usually. It had mixed reviews so I was a bit sceptical, but was still eager to try. This is my first proper coffee machine, I’ve been a barista in the past, and I feel as though I have had my fair share of use with it and even gone through all the settings and even different coffee beans, so I hope this review is helpful!

I will firstly say that the coffee machine sadly no longer comes with a krups starter kit which includes a ph scale strip and a filter, however it’s easy to find your water ph level online and as the water in my area is super soft, I didn’t really need to get a filter, and I’m fairly certain you can purchase one of these kits on here. The manuals and directions were fairly simple to follow, I will also highlight that with my machine it didn’t have a digital indicator on the top underneath the mug tray to adjust the level of ph on the machine as well as the temperature of the water, but it was easy to suss out as the light indicators will light up accordingly. (1 light = soft, 2 = medium etc).

Once it was all set up, I ran the cleaning schedule (be sure to have a big mug at the ready) which was simple to operate and only took like less than 5 mins. Then it was time to have a go! I bought the Amazon own brand coffee beans, as they had decent reviews online. Switched the grind to medium, and pressed the button for a standard coffee. The machine was quick, quiet and smooth! The crema was gorgeous and the house was smelling delicious. Fast forward the next day .. I attempted the coffee machine and the coffee smelt and tasted incredibly burnt. I tasted it and it honestly gave me a headache with how awful and bitter it was and was feeling as though I’d just wasted 200 and that the machine was going to have to be returned. I adjusted all the settings to make sure it was the right temperature and ph level, tried each grind size, but the coffee was still tasting bitter. I ended up taking out all of the coffee beans, and putting in some new ones, only to realise the whole bag of beans smelt burnt and over roasted. I was relieved to know that I had found the reason as to why my coffee had changed so drastically and was tasting burnt – it was the beans. Fast forward a couple of days I splurged and bought Starbucks blond roast coffee beans off Amazon. And now I can say that literally every single cup of coffee I’ve had since has been delicious and perfect. I have it set to medium grind and always use the standard coffee cup setting. I also always in between uses make sure to run a quick water cycle through the machine (the lower water sprinkle looking button) just to clean the nozzle on the inside to make sure there’s no residue. Now I can say that the machine is running perfectly, is so easy to maintain and use, and honestly gives a better coffee than ones I’ve had at Starbucks.

The milk frothing nozzle is so easy to use, and whilst others have said it can come off easily, as long as it’s properly on and clean, it shouldn’t shoot off and cause burns. Make sure to clean it after each time to keep it clean of milk residue. I’m hoping it stays amazing, but I think with any machine it just requires making sure you keep it clean and well maintained, it’ll do you good. You do have to read the manual properly, and play around with the settings and coffee beans to make sure it’s to your liking. I’m not used to super bitter dark roast coffee, so opted for a lighter roast and it’s honestly the best for me now. I am so happy I took this risk and didn’t waste 400+ on a Sage barista. It’s also not incredibly massive. A lot of the delonghi automatic coffee machines are absolute beasts, however this one is a fairly small size, and doesn’t dominate the kitchen counter. I’ve attached a pic as you can see it on my kitchen rack, still loads of room around it which I genuinely wasn’t expecting! So it’s a 10 all round.

Another thing to add – if you register your product on the krups website, you get a 10 year repair guarantee. This is amazing – and so handy for if anything does happen to the machine. Definitely a selling point in itself. I’ll update this review if anything changes, goes wrong, etc. I hope you found this handy. If you’re looking for an automatic bean to cup coffee machine on a smaller budget, this one is for you!

An honest review, and a perfect coffee machine !

It’s a lovely unit, but the problem is in the book to set it up. It talk about fitting a water filter, and a hard water test kit . Both of which don’t come in the box, so you have to buy them separately at an extra cost. Both item are things Krups should have in the book.

I bought the coffee machine after its predecessor had a failing water cycle.
It’s running now for a month and I’m very happy with it. Unfortunately, there is no additional cleaning manual like on its predecessor so if you are new to the machine and have to clean it, you have to read the big manual first. I didn’t open the coffee grinder yet, so I can’t add anything about the cleaning of it.

We have one of these at work and it works flat out 5 days a week and makes great coffee. We had the previous version which lasted about 3 years but it made around 15,000 cups of coffee. Can’t understand why Krups don’t feature in more top 10 reviews as really we can’t fault this machine.

We had a Delonghi Magnifica before the Krups, and the latter is so much better that I almost cannot find words to convey the difference. The Krups is compact, solid, all contact points exude quality and durability. It does its job quickly, precisely and consistently, the user interface is easy to interpret and operate; cleaning is straightforward and easy, maintenance minimal. It is relatively quiet, and looks good on any kitchen counter. A really great buy! Highly recommended.

Schade… Lass es jetzt lieber mit Krups.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersDiese neue Version ist weniger laut.

    Neue weniger laute Versio
