Golden Review Award: 3 From Our Usersappena ricevuto con grande anticipo.

The reviews here and the lower price made me worry that this was going to be a troublesome product. But after spending an hour pegging the wire around a 200 sq metre garden, it worked great. I then buried the wire, and it still works great.

A great little garden helper and amazing value for money. Really easy to set up and so far required no maintenance. It’s set for three cuts a week and the garden looks fantastic.

Easy to set up and works well. I had previously asked if it really needed a full 1.5 metre length before and after the docking station. I also asked if i could have it in the corner and it reverse out as I have a very small lawn. I received the response ‘no’ some time later. In actual fact I must be lucky with mine as it only has a 1 metre stretch before and after the docking station and whether by design or fault when it takes off it does actually reverse about a foot and then turn left into the lawn so it works perfectly for me. Does a great job in keeping the lawn down too.

Brilliant device. Cuts grass well and no cuttings to dispose of. Timer set to cut grass twice a week and even cuts grass in the rain. Yes it zig zags around the garden but when its finished there are no zig zags lines just a smooth even lawn. Only downside we have to trim edges but that’s minimal. Would definitely recommend.

This mower is a cracking tool, only downside is it takes hrs to charge then return to his job, easy to set up, read a lot of reviews about set up being tricky, but I think the people having problems are probably more brainy than practical, he was a bit naughty coming out when not supposed to, but messed around with settings on area, he seems to be behaving, says he’s waterproof but gonna build him a shed just to keep the heavy rain off

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have now had it over a week and am very happy with it and the fact that I will never have to mow the lawn again. For the price I would really recommend this machine. Money well spent.
This is what I previously wrote. I have only just bought it so will come back and review if after I have seen how it works.I am not naturally “handy” but will have a go at most things. If you’re a whizz at thing like this, then don’t read it. THE MOST IMPORTANT thing is to read all the instructions before you start. I didn’t and that was my first mistake. First the docking/charging base. needs 150 cm clear all round. I didn’t read it, so when the electrician put the external power point in it was in the wrong place. Luckily the charging base comes with enough cable for me to be able to move it further away to allow the 150cms That was pure luck. Also factor in the electricals. My electrician charged me 100 for an external socket and weather box to house the power adaptor . Peg out the boundary wire before burying it. I didn’t and had to re do it. Which left quite a lot of slack cable so i had to change where i wanted the boundary to use up the slack as i didn’t want to have to cut and splice it. Leave at least 20 cms distance between the boundary wire and any objects. My flower beds are surrounded by raised terracotta tiles and if you don’t leave enough space between the tile and boundary wire the ladxcape just keeps butting into it until it becomes stuck. Next – the charging base must, must be flat. Otherwise the machine wont glide into it to charge. The boundary wire “in” and “out” ends must be inserted into “in” black terminal and “out” red terminal in the charging base. This is difficult to do if you have already fixed the base to the ground as I needed to lift it up to see what I was doing. Next is really important. Really pay attention to picture 3 in the installation guide. The “in” and “out” wires guide the mower out and into the base . If you don’t get this right it will just butt into the upright bit of the base. The instructions recommend leaving 80 cms of the wire either side. I would leave longer in case you don’t get it right first time. Lift the charging base off the grass and bring under it both the in and out wires to half way in front the the upright bit that holds the red and black terminals and peg them at right angles and then lead them straight to the red and black terminals. You will only get the green light once this is completed so you can then charge the mower. it took at least 4 hours to charge the first time You can now check out to see if the boundary lines are working. Follow the guide to switch it on which which are easily followed then take it away from the charging base close to the boundary line and press home then OK. It will follow the boundary line anti clockwise to the charging base and you will be able to see where the boundary line needs moving. IF i had read the instructions I would have saved myself at least 4 hours. As it is my garden is about 50 sqm ( or my way of doing it 170 footfalls placed one in front of the other around where the boundary line was to go). Its been raining since if charged it up ( I have the one with no rain sensor) so I haven’t see it in action fully. The charging time seems excessive and the instructions in the owners manual ( page 15) on how to set the working schedule have defeated me for the time being.
I hope I haven’t confused anyone and will come back once I have seen it in action and may change thee rating . MOST IMPORTANT – READ THE INSTRUCIONS FIRST.

I bought this for a small lawn in my garden to see if I liked robot mowers. I love them. Yes you have to read the instructions and it takes time to bury the wire and peg it out but it is totally worth the effort. I call mine bob and he happily pops around the lawn, keeping the grass short, giving me time back in my day and nothing to worry about. Buy one, you won’t regret i

To be perfectly honest I’m usually way too lazy to bother writing reviews for stuff even if I find them really impressive but I have to say that having had this mower for awhile now I am very impressed by its functionality ease of use and the quality of the lawnmowing and therefore I would definitely recommend it as a product to anybody who is thinking of buying one. We’ve got a reasonably large L-shaped lawn and after the initial faff of pinning the wire around the edges and tweaking it a little bit the mower has been off doing its thing come rain or shine and the lawn looks noticeably better & I have more much-needed time for sitting dow

    Very impressed

Once we managed to get the perimeter wire sorted it was amazing. I was disappointed several times when I found that it had cut through the wire or got stuck in a hole or couldn’t manage to get up a small incline. But on the whole I wouldn’t want to be without my Robbie!!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOur lawn isn’t very level and has quite a few bumps – I had to level one small area to make this work but it works really well.i now only have to get the strimmer out for 5 minutes every couple of months. I would definitely bury the perimeter wire to get it out if the way – I just used a spade to make a slit and it was gone in a few weeks. Only had one minor issue when a dog ball was left on the grass but it just stopped and no harm was done. It would be good if it had a rain sensor but this one doesn’t. Excellent machine for the price.

Wasn’t sure how good this would be but very impressed given the price. The set up is the key, pick a good spot for the charging station and then set out the wire as per the instructions. They are a little conservative on edge width and it leaves an uncut edge on the lawn. Charge it then set it up and start it going, watch where it goes and look for any issues. If it gets stuck move the wire and give it more room. Now I moved the wire nearer the edge to take 5cm off the uncut edge and it works fine at that. I then tried it out again to check no problems and then buried it an inch down. All working perfectly. It’s cuts randomly but seems to cover all the ground & when it’s finished goes back to its station and leaves a good job. Edges are a problem with all robot mowers and this isn’t any different, but it’s a five minute job to go round the edges with a strimmer, but then you’d have to do that with a normal mower anyway. It can be set up for a regular automatic cut, cuts very fine and you can’t see the cuttings which should re-feed the grass. I’ve set my cutting height at highest setting and the grass looks great. I’ve been advised to take it in for the winter to protect the battery but will leave it out in summer on automatic regular cut mode. If your grass is long you do need to cut your grass before you use it for the first time and you let it loose. After that the automatic cut keeps it looking good and tidy. I’d recommend this robot it’s good value and you can get spare cable, batteries and charge stations and chargers.

My lawn is about 300 square meter. I had an electric lawnmower and it used to take me and my wife nearly 4 hours every alternate Sunday to mow the lawn, I wanted to change the mower to petrol one but then I read the reviews about the robotic lawnmowers and was very keen to try it. After reading the reviews of Landxcape, I bought the Landxcape 799 few days ago. It took me nearly 4 hours to set it up. I was really impressed as it started to mow the lawn. It took nearly 3 days for the mower to understand the size of the lawn and to understand the direction of mowing. On the fourth day it had an idea of the shape and size of the garden and has now covered the entire area. I have taken the time lapse video to show how the mower has covered the area and then a picture to show the lawn.
Happy with everything but still not sure about how the timer on this machine works and how to set the number of times in a day it should automatically start.
Other than that very satisfied with this mower and am sure it will save me lot of time and energy and will keep my lawn looking tidy all the time.

    Brilliant piece of equipme

    Still works well though.

I hate cutting the grass and was contemplating getting a gardener but this little guy ‘Farah’ goes out every night and does the job . I’ve not even got round to programming him yet it’s as if he just knows a few tweaks here snd there with the boundary cable. If you are contemplating do nothing hesitate BUY IT NOW small print I do not work for the company this is legit the best invention eve

Not bad, my first robo mower.
Works as expected, does not exceed my expectations.
    Bad points:
Charging contacts catch on low branches of box hedge.
Doesn’t cut close enough to edges.
Blades clog up with debris ad stop rotating.
Overall fairly happy at the price, but would probably try a worx off centre mower next.

Works perfectly. Takes a few hours to set up the boundry wire but its not difficult, just time-consuming relative to the size of your garden. My garden is very uneven, however the Landxcape has no trouble at all. It successfully cut through long grass and wet grass

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBrilliant little bot. 379 quid, one of the cheapest on the market but does a great job, i have an oval lawn around 100 square metres, set up took me an hour or two,i buried my boundry wire, i used a spade ,dug it in around 5 cms then poked the wire down and squeezed turf back together, a week on and you cant see it now so well worth doing,i believe you can go to 10 cms if you want. I laid my wire the 26 cms in from tje edge, on reflection could have gone a tad nearer maybe 20 cms but im happy. The cable to the charger next, you have 5 metres of cable so bear that in mind when positioning, i had to run a seperate power supply to mine because it was so far from my garage electrics but this will be different for everyone. So all set up, by the way you have to have the boundry wire or the bot wont work it just says E1 code and gets the hump, i know this cos i tried it, my lawn has a natural boundry so thought i could rely on bump sensors but no.Once you have your date, time and area set which is easy to do just read owners manual bot is away and what a beautiful job it does, it runs for around an hour then puts itself back on its charger, it will come back out if you have set a large area these are from 50 square metres up, height of cut is 20mm to 50mm your choice. If you set 50 metrse square bot will do tuesdays and fridays. I have set my bot over size at 200 squares metres so he comes out monday to friday, he doesnt work weekends lol, default start time on cutting days is 0900 but ive changed mine to mid day because theres always dew on it at 9. All setting instructions are clear in the manual.
So, i’m well happy bot is quite a talking point,i can sit with my coffee and watch him for hours. Just take your time with the set up,ie boundry wire and charger position its easy if you dont rush it. Hope this helps, Dee. PS, Don’t buy this from Amazon, lots off companies are selling these for 249.00, Thats 130.00 cheaper Outrageous, Im gutted, i have asked Amazon but they dont want to know, not even offered me a voucher, My only option is to return it, utterly poor customer service, very dissapointed. Came without instructions. Nice lady on Amazon helpline got this sorted for me.
Even with instructions I struggled. Burying the wire self explanatory but my instruction didn’t include how to attach wire to base unit. Very satisfying when I got it going.

Satisfying to watch once it gets going – don’t expect instant results as it takes a few days to ‘settle in’ and get itself orientated to it’s new surroundings and area. Also make sure the grass is pretty short when it first goes out otherwise it’ll get clogged up and go back home in a huff. Overall, first class and highly recommended.

Overall and excellent little mower for the price. We have a 150m2 lawn which it easily covers and setup is very easy with very little programming at all just; date, time , area and pin code. I would have gone for 5 stars but for two reasons. It is a little too simple and the only control on the cutting time is by area however this is a very minor complaint. The lost star is really because there seems to be very little support and the website is terrible. We also have a husquvanna which is excellent and so we are comfortable with the technology. if you are not the lack of support may be an issue if you have any problems with setup. Our setup was fine and it is dead easy however firmware upgrades were a bit more confusing
The firmware upgrade doesn’t need unzipping, as described in the manual and the USB port is at the front not back. That said it seemed to work ok when I winged it and installed it anyway. It might take quite a bit of fiddling around to get the guide wire optimised and worth looking at the comments here for guidance. Beyond that it has been going a week and i am very pleased

Absolute pain in the rear to install – BUT having said that, once you’ve made sure the boundaries are set and the mower isn’t going to chomp your wire – I’ll give it 100% on effectiveness. I have a yard of moss weeds abs terrible lawn – I’ve had it a week and I still have moss and weeds but for the most part it looks like fake grass now it’s amazing. It’s also SUPER quiet – no louder than a remote control ca

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersSo I bought the Flymo Easilife robot mower and after several months, with multiple installations and multiple replacement parts we still couldn’t get the thing to work. Flymo sent us to a service centre and they couldn’t get it to work either so we were eventually told to send it back. Having had that experience didn’t I want to try another one from the same brand and stumbled across this on Amazon. Reviews were positive and it was 200 quid cheaper.
This was a breeze to install in less than an hour (2 of us working together to ensure we got the tension on the boundary wire). The instructions were short but effective unlike the lengthy Flymo ones.
It can cover up to 300m square but our turfed area is nearer 100m.
This doesn’t have an app, the program and software are simple and the display is large enough to see without specs. Big red button to stop, large yellow wheel to select cutting height. You can secure it further with a pin code and the 5m cable was so much more appropriate than the 1m on the Flymo version. This machine docks side on, and two prongs then touch/connect to the charger station.
It took about an hour to charge and off it went!!
I’m really impressed, cuts great, handles most obstacles with ease and is quiet. 2 weeks in and all I need to do weekly is trim the edges of my lawn, it looks really healthy. As a bonus it also entertains the dogs whom like to chase it around the garden. “Mo”our new mower was a bargain and whilst it may not be as “techny” as similar products it does exactly what it’s supposed to!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWell the MOO arrived and got to work. Easy to peg out the boundary wire, an the set up of the machine could not have been easier. Be careful around “island” flower beds not to cross the wires at the entry/exit point or the MOO will not recognise the boundary of the bed. Also, if it runs low on power and heads for home, if it encounters the island wire first, then it will just go round and round the island.
For the price, I paid 247, (and I noted it went up 100 the day after), this is a great machine, and I have not mowed the lawn for months now. You can pay a huge amount more, but for my size of lawn, 150sq m, it is ideal. I hung the lawn mower up, but will use it occasionally when I get bored and crave lines in the grass. Until such time when semi-senile thoughts arise, I am very content to watch MOO get on with it!! Great product!!!

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersThis is by far the cheapest robotic lawn mower you can get. I have only a small lawn about 30sqm big, so didn’t want to spend a lot of money.

    There are several limitations:
    – Timed mowing is set to only specific combination of days (Tues+Fri for 2 days, and specific days of the week if you choose 3). You can select the time of day though.
    – No easy way to “skip” a timed mow, except to turn off the robot completely. But then you need to remember to turn it back on, so it continues its schedule.
    – No app control
    – There is no rain sensor, so it will do its scheduled run even when its raining, after its poured down, etc. This for me is the major limitation, as its very bad for the grass for the mower to run if the ground is very waterlogged!
    – The base has to be put on the lawn somewhere, it cannot be on a patio, due to the way the boundary wires are done. This means that you’ll have to give up a small amount of lawn space for the base, and also you can’t hide the mower and base from view. You cannot just connect the boundary wires around your lawn in a loop without the base. The base has to form part of the boundary.
    – The ideal distance I found for the boundary wire is 10cm away from the edge. This is because when the robot goes back to the base, it follows the middle of the boundary wire all the way around. The robot is about 20cm wide. So you need to have at least 10cm away from the edge, obstacles, etc for the robot to successfully follow the wire back to the base after its done mowing.
    – This means that you will have about 3-5cm of uncut grass at the edge, which you’ll need to manually trim
    – If you do want it to go all the way to the edge of your lawn, you need to instead leave 10cm of level dirt without obstacles like plants or edging after the grass edge, so the robot can travel home successfully

Otherwise, it has worked perfectly well, to keep a really nice looking lawn. Also my lawn is healthier than ever, with the grass clippings being recycled and improving the soil quality too.

For the functionality itself, I give this maybe a 3 out of 5 stars. Many improvements to be desired. But for the value of money you’re getting, definitely 5 out of 5 stars in my opinion.

EDIT: having had it for a year now, I can confirm a few things:
    – Still working well!
    – Does get stuck every once in a while. ie stops running in the middle of the field. A few times its gone past the boundary wire to the patio and then stopped and errored.
    – LX799 model does not have a rain sensor. Will auto-run regardless of weather.
    – No need for a shelter, had mine outside in London weather for a whole year now, still working fine
    – Firmware last updated in April 2020…. so might now be an unsupported product going forwards? Worrying!

Excellent. Mows more than 300m2. Excellent cut. More efficient than more expensive machines. Much better finish than ride on tractor. A better quality grass grows when lawn is kept constantly short. Don’t bury the wire at first as it needs adjusting during first few weeks to get close to edge. Pity it won’t work weekends. We call ours “Robert”.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersOk, so the dog (Biff, a Staffie -X) isn’t too keen, but he’s coming round the idea that he must now share ‘his’ garden with a mute automated friend.
The item arrived promptly and was well packed. Unpacking was simple, installation wasn’t intuitive, but was dependent on following insructions, which gave the impression of being comprehensive, but were to say the least, somewhat ambiguous. I’m still unclear how it intimates it’s possible to charge the unit prior to laying the guide wire and connecting power. It’s not, but once that becomes clear, it’s pretty straightforward.
Some tips from previous buyers were doubtless an attempt to be helpful, but weren’t sufficiently specific (which I learned from experience/frustration). For instance, I followed the seemingly sensible advice to set the guide wire 10cm from the border to avoid having too large a border left to strim. Wrong! With a fully walled garden, the product instructions are perfectly correct (26cm I think) means that the machine doesnt knock seven bells out of itself by impacting every wall. The 10cm advice is fine if you have a flat run off at the lawn edge, like a stone path.
No biggie, I simply relaid the wire at the correct distance.
Regarding programming, I’m a technophobe, so left that to my triple graduate daughter. Mowing activity needs to be dovetailed in with our automated sprinkler system as we live in Spain. Thus far, two weeks in, ‘Morris’ (for it is he) has refused to come out on the days he’s putatively automatically programmed so to do. Our garden size (set into the machine) means he should ‘do his thing’ twice a week. Not so. Attempts to set him manually have resulted in ‘recalcitrant teenage’ behaviour and insolent disobedience. Again not insurmountable, I simply send him on his way manually, (when the sprinklers aren’t on).
Do I rate the machine? Yes. Would I recommend buying one? Yes. Is there room for improvement in operating instructions/clearance of ambiguity? Yes. The jury is still out on Morris’s determination not to follow automatic/pre-programmed orders, but so long as I can ‘boot him out of his sleepy reverie’ at the push of a button, it beats the hell out of using a traditional mower in these temperatures.
    Happy mowing!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersGreat little mower for the money.
This mower worked well for me because I have newly laid turf so it was easy to position the wire and then lay the turf over the top. I also have sleepers surrounding the lawn, so no need to worry about strimming the missed edges.
It is really basic, no app, just set it up, tell it how often you want it to cut your grass and leave it to it!

    Basic but brilliant.

Golden Review Award: 53 From Our UsersI’m going to start with, read the instructions! A few reviews say the mower cuts the boundary cable, well it will if it’s not pegged down properly. I ordered this Friday, delivered Saturday, set up and then started to rain! Sunday morning with full charge I sent it out on it’s highest cutting setting of 50mm in soaking grass and it did great! I cleaned the blades this afternoon and It’s now currently cutting at 40mm (video attached) and it’s doing great. I will need to clean the blades again as it’s cut long grass in the wet but once it’s programmed to cut every other day I think it will do a great job. My lawn isn’t great at all because I leave it so long before I cut it! For the money and very easy set up I think it’s worth every penny and it will do a great job once on top of it.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersVery happily surprised – I bought the basic model after lots and lots of research. Having read loads of reviews I finally realised that I didn’t need all the bells and whistles, like wifi, a timer and app functionality – we have a couple of dogs and so it is best to check the garden for unwanted deposits before setting Mo (we call him Mo) on his task.
Set up was much easier than I expected and after reading several posts I decided to set the perimeter wire at 18-20cm with nice curves around the various planters and borders we have. This worked perfectly with very little post installation mods to the wire and provided a cut similar to that achieved by my Worx lawn mower. Trimming the edges takes the same time as before and of course the lawn looks really good. After installation sitting with a nice glass of Mud House Sauvignon Blanc watching Mo work is very pleasing.

Golden Review Award: 121 From Our UsersA friend of mine said it was like something out of Tomorrow’s World (I’m from an older generation that remembers the TV programme) hence the title.
Ok, one negative to get out of the way to begin with is the time it took to arrive – nearly 4 weeks. However, for the price I was prepared to accept that even though I was eager to get it.
    Positives far outweigh the point above. Because it was a new product I was slightly concerned as there were only a few reviews. Hence the reason I’m writing this so that it may be helpful to others. The price was significantly cheaper than another well know brand which was almost an extra 200. My garden is not that big so I couldn’t justify buying a robotic lawn mower unil I saw this. When it finally arrived I was able to set it up quickly (approx 2hrs). You just need a little bit of patience. However, I have spent quite a bit of time since then trying to get the perfect boundary line in place so that I minimise the amount of strumming needed around the edges (you will have to do some as this won’t cut right up to the edge). Because it cuts the grass in tiny bits that fall back to the ground and act as a natural fertilizer I couldn’t see the impact it was having. However, after 1.5 weeks I can see it now. The edge of the lawn will need strimming but the main section is beautifully cut. I am a definite fan and very pleased. A few points to consider that I have learned since buying this;

    – Once set up you need to leave it on continuous charge in order for the timer (on the mower) to work correctly etc. If you disrupt it then you need to recheck the settings on the mower which is a nuisance that’s all.
    – I tried to be clever and use an electronic timer so that it only switched on during the days it was programmed to mow. It didn’t work. The timer seemed to disrupt the settings on the mower itself. So now I leave it plugged in continuously. The voltage is very low so I’ve been told it’s not that big of a thing (don’t ask me technical questions about this side of things. Just look at the manual for details).
    – It comes out by default at 9am but this can be changed if wanted. You can also adjust how many days it comes out to mow based on the size of your garden. The instructions explain how to do this.
    – Shelter. The instructions recommend you set the charging station up somewhere where there is shade/cover so that it is not in direct sunlight or rain. That wasn’t possible for me which meant either leaving it open to the elements (it is rainproof anyway) or buying a ready made shelter (the cheapest seemed around 50 on Amazon) or making one (which I did) out of wood or whatever you have handy (some good ideas on YouTube).
    – Bumps and stepping stones. My garden is a little bit bumpy but the mower seems to cope ok. However, I have stepping stones going up the middle and some of these had sunk quite low over the years. The mower worked its way around these if it got stuck but ideally the mower should be able to travel over these smoothly to get a better finish to the lawn. So I spent a couple of days levelling the stepping stones back again (a job I’ve been meaning to do for some time anyway). Now the mower has no problem traversing the garden.
    – Cutting height. When it is first used the instructions recommend setting it on the highest level which I did. However, once I perfected the boundary wire I gradually lowered the cutting height. This is down to personal preference but start off at a high setting.
    – The instructions recommend storing the mower and charging station inside during the winter months but leaving the boundary wire outside and pinned down (you can bury it but I haven’t done that). More info about this in the instructions.

That’s all the main points I can think of. Basically it is a great mower and I find it quite mesmerising watching it at work. It allows me to do other jobs around the garden. Very pleased and happy to recommend.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI was lucky enough to be given this mower by a friend who moved abroad, this mower is great, rather than me mowing the grass each week and filling my bin up with grass cuttings, I am able to sit and watch the mower do it for me whilst drinking a beer. This actually gives me more time to spend on the beds and borders, my garden has never looked so good.
Takes a little amount of time to set it up, but once you have, you will never cut your grass again.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersFantastic little mower. Picked this up earlier in the year at a garden show where this was being launched before the world went crazy. From the same manufacturers as worx, so same technology and quality. Can’t fault it at all, perfect for my little garden whilst I sit back and enjoy the su
