The most beautiful moment when our great-nephew, yes I meant great-nephew (I am not that old to be great-auntie) played with his wooden work bench for a first time. Almost like it was built for him. Very sturdy and easy to assemble. Whole family contributed to it. Its a bit more expensive than others but quality is much better. One present is enough than hundred cheap ones. Less is more!
All the tools are very well made and very sturdy – do be careful with little ones who tend to throw toys around as this might cause some damage if they are thrown towards other children by accident. We also like the wooden toolbox, which is perfect to store the toys away.
Our daughters pretended to build a tree house, a kitchen table and chairs. It was very sweet how they kept guessing which tool would do what and how they passed the tools to each other as part of the game.
Definitely recommend it!
My son just loves it so much. I thought he would get bored of it after a while but no he sit plays with it every day. It’s just beautiful.

Le seul bmol c’est qu’il y a trs peu d’accessoires fournis : un marteau, une scie, un tournevis, une cl, un niveau, une petite planche de bois, 2 crous, 2 vis et 2 clous.
Un peu lger je trouve mais cela suffit faire le bonheur des enfants gs de 1 an 4 ans.
The quality of this tool bench is just wow.
Whilst the price tag of 76 seems extreme, you definitely get what you pay for and what you get is an amazingly solid wooden tool bench with a ton of accessories.
This comes with a hammer, screwdriver, some nuts, bolts and nails, drill, turning saw and a clamp.
The surfaces and edges of this tool bench are smooth with no sharps or rough parts to it. No chances of your child hurting themselves or getting a splinter.
This was fairly easy to assemble, the instructions weren’t the best but even I managed. Admittedly I am getting loads better at assembling these toys but I didn’t struggle with this at all.
My only real criticism of this tool bench is that it is quite small.
It would be great if the legs or something could be extended. For the bigger kids who have been playing with this, I have been putting it onto a table.
They love playing with this with their younger cousins etc, this encourages tons of creative play and its lovely watching them all play nicely together with this.

Die erste Schraube die wir reinschrauben, und wir sind handwerklich nicht gerade unbegabt, ergab gleich einen Riss im Holz. Nun gut, egal. Unser Sohn spielte schon whrend des Aufbaus mit. 1,5 Jahre alt. Danach beschftigte er sich lange und intensiv damit. Das Produkt riecht gut nach Holz und optisch ist es sehr ansprechend gestaltet. A superb wooden toy set. A really solid and robust workbench for the active child. Really drives imaginative play and the workbench and tools are highly tactile and lovely to play with. Lots and lots of replay potential and a lot of fun. I was really impressed with how solid and well made it was.
I’ve set this work bench up in my reception classroom and it’s a massive hit with the children. There’s some great ‘fine motor’ features worked in, such as wooden screws and bolts that children can hammer or screw into the wood. There’s a spanner which they can use to tighten and loosen bolts and even a clock to get them to start telling the time. The quality of the wood and the paint is excellent. Everything has a nice finish and is built to last. It is a bit tricky to assemble (best to use an electric drill) as the instructions are minimal, but once you’ve put it together it’s sure to be a hit with the kids!

I have only recently come across Le Toy Van as a brand and I am so impressed by the quality of the toys. This work bench has it all,just like an adult version. Promotes imaginative and constructive play , Needs some assembly but not difficult . This will keep little ones happy for ages . Good for parents who are trying to stop the use of plastic.
This is a very cute and small little Tool Bench for Children I’d say personally between 20 months and 3.5 years, due to the size of it. It’s very compact and low to the ground, so it’s good for smaller children and there’s not much of a danger of them pulling it onto themselves and once they’re bigger, I’ve found putting it sofa height works well for comfortable playing.
It requires a fair amount of assembly with a screwdriver and took me around 30mins. It comes in a very compact but heavy box but has a carry handle to make it easy to transport. There’s clear instructions to put this together but you have to be quite careful to follow them and use the correct pieces as it can be quite tricky to de-assemble to correct any mistakes!
It comes with a cute variety of pretend wooden tools, they are all safe, smooth edged and child friendly. The wood feels strong and i’m hoping the hammer etc survives my Toddlers enthusiastic banging! It comes with wood you can bang nails into and a vice you can clamp the wood into plus more – my Partner is enjoying helping our little one use this and our little one is enjoying being like Daddy!
Recommended, though I feel for the size, it will be something they grow out of fairly quickly so i’d personally expect the price to be a little lower. But all in all a lovely, good quality Tool Bench which is safe and child friendly!
We love these super colourful, beautifully detailed, top quality wooden toys – there is something really pleasing about them. They look stunning and best of all they are not plastic!
My little ones have such a lovely time using these for imaginary play, counting, drawing around, matching, sharing – you name it, there are so many ways to play with these. This tool bench is fabulous for having so much to do and explore – and best there is plenty to share too.
Lovely to look at too – theres nothing to hide away in a toy box here!

Made entirely from wood, apart from the screws, this tool / workbench is more than capable of providing any small child with hours of fun and entertainment.
Unlike another review, the Vice worked fine on our version, and the drill, while not “drilling” does move up and down as a Pillar style drill would in real life. A selection of hand tools, blunt “nails”, nuts & bolts bench saw, mini tool bag .. so many components that all come together into a small but perfectly formed package for the budding Chippendale or up & coming D-I-Y enthusiast looking to emulate Mum or Dad. Not cheap, but appears to be, at this stage of its working life, great value for money. Allow 30 – 40 minutes to assemble, pay attention to the instructions and have a correctly sized Phillips or Pozidrive screwdriver to hand prior to wanting to assemble it.
This was very impressive. It is a toy so if you are thinking of getting a workbench on the cheap you might be disappointed!

This is a great toy work bench … just like the real thing, it comes with everything a budding young DIYer would need. There is a hand saw, a hammer, screw driver, spanner, spirit level, two bolts, two screws, two nails and a piece of wood. There is even a flatbed circular saw as well as a measuring guage and a vice.
This quality toy is made from solid rubber wood and high quality MDF. It stands at 70.21cm (27.64″) in height x 42.09cm (16.57″) in width x 9.09cm (3.57″) in depth. Every single piece from the work bench down to each individual tool has been superbly made and beautifully finished. The back of the bench has images of other tools and a clock which has plastic hands that can be turned.
We have a three year old grandson who loves to play with this whenever he comes to visit, we have stood ‘his’ work bench right next to grampy’s work bench out in the shed and when my husband is outside doing some DIY our grandson is right there with him helping and (hopefully) learning at the same time.
I have absolutely no problem in recommending this child’s work bench … it really is first class.

This set is a dream come true for adults and kids! It is so cute and well made. My partner and I genuinely found it a pleasure to build, and it’s a welcome tool station for our visiting nephews and nieces.
The Good: It took us about 40 minutes to assemble and was all straightforward. All the holes were lined up neatly and we had no issues getting anything to slot together (way easier than normal furniture!). All the parts feel good quality and sturdy and it copes with the wrath of children well! There are small parts (like little pretend nuts and bolts) so kids should be supervised. It comes with an adorable little bag and the drill and saw are interactive, and it comes with so many tools, honestly it’s infinite imagination! The perfect first tool bench. Our nephew loves tools and it’s a great bonding and teaching toy. Even the thinner tools like the saw don’t feel at risk of breaking even with rough play so I think it will last a long time.
The Bad: It’s a bit smaller than I was expecting. Considering it’s suitable for 3+, kids would have to kneel to play comfortably with this set (which is fine, it’s just quite miniature!) and multiple kids playing is a bit cramped.
All in all it’s a really cute toy that be a perfect gift for any child. I’d say it’s worth what it’s being sold for considering how much comes with it, but just be prepared it is on the smaller side. We love wooden toys and this is definitely a toy you’ll have for life and pass down the generations.
Perfect for a little girl or boy for birthday or Christmas gift. Has all the tools a little one would ever require, easy to assemble and Looks great once assembled. Le toy van products are always great quality and always great to buy. I would however like to point the tool station is quite low in height so for taller children will have to kneel down and play, would recommend probably for le toy van to make the tool bench a little higher so all kids can play. Other than that it’s great.
Not only is this a really well made and sturdy but it is extremely well thought through in terms of the overall concept.
Love the colour palette, apparently they are water based which means they are less likely to be toxic in any way. Great muted non-sexist colours. The markings on the box for putting things away and the way the draw slides in and out very smoothly.
There is a fabric bag, pliers, some wooden ‘nails’ to hammer, a saw, a plank of wood to put screws in and a hammer.
The little black board for writing and ticking off tasks (a stick of chalk would have been nice).
Oh, and I really liked the way when you open the box you get the smell of wood. This is definitely a toy that could be handed on from generation to generation.
As per other Le Toy Van, this is a high quality toy. There is some assembly required but it’s pretty easy and comes with child friendly versions of all the tools dad (or mum!) would keep in their toolbox and shed.
Finished to a high standard with lively paint and nice detailing. Someone else mentioned it is a wee bit small but it’s fine for little kids who kneel or sit down most of the time but even standing a under 4 will be absolutely fine.
A tad on the expensive side but it’s not plastic junk so you get what you pay for.
This is really lovely. It was easy to assemble and all of the pre drilled holes were well done and smooth on the outside. It took about fifteen minutes to assemble, the hardest part was matching the pieces to the instructions and I had to use the picture on the box to do this.
The quality is excellent, all of the edges are perfectly smooth, the paint is even and doesn’t feel like it’ll ever chip. The accessories are adorable, I love that the bolt have a screw thread inside so the screws actually screw in.
I think this is going to be a favourite toy for a long time.
This is a great traditional toy for boys and girls. It has everything they need to copy mum and dad working in the shed or garage. An adult is required to put it together and care should be taken to do it properly, but once assembled the workshop offers a great space for imaginative play for kids.
There’s no way around it, despite the colossal cost, this is a fantastic workbench for younger children. You can get plastic versions for a third of the price, but having something wooden is much more environmentally sustainable, and this is the kind of toy that will last a lifetime. It’s no good buying something like this and keeping it to yourself – when a child outgrows it, this will do for the next generation, or could be passed on very easily.
The range of tools, the little touches like the moving clock hands and spinning saw… there are so many clever touches that younger children will appreciate. It’s all chunky and robust, not really suitable for older children, but younger ones will love it!
This feels like a very durable workbench for children to play with. It’s rather heavy but comes with an integrated handle to help carry it. It’s all very neatly packaged with instructions on how to build it. It took us about an hour to put together with easy to follow instructions. It comes with a range of accessories for children to play with and is very appealing.
Height wise, this seems most suitable for 18 months however it says 3+ in the box but then a 3 year old would be too tall for this and struggle having to bend down all the time.
You also can’t place it flush against a wall because of things protruding out of the back of it.
I was disappointed that the drill and the vice don’t actually work or do anything.
It seems. Little pricey for what it’s actually capable of doing.
If you’re happy to spend that kind of money on something that looks good but doesn’t really do much then I would recommend it for age 2 which supervision.
Le Toy Van thankfully produce more hits than misses and this is thankfully another hit. A sturdy workbench with good quality tools in a lovely prepared package. Probably gave the postman a hernia but overall a good size and was easy to assemble. A very good addition to the playroom for both girls and boys.
As a stay at home mum I am doing loads of handy work around the house, and guess who is watching me…our 1 and 3 year old. This work bench is unmatched in quality. You will not find another workbench made of wood with this much character! The little bits, the saw, the tools and the sheer quality is just perfection. It is heavy. It took me only about 30 minutes to assemble.
Our bubbas can now mimic me in all my handy lady glory 🙂
We are totally loyal fans of all Le Toy Van toys. They are so creative, and inspire model play in kids. We love the colours of the My First Toy Bench. Our kids love this so much, they have NOT STOPPED PLAYING WITH IT.
The price point is a bit high, but you honestly get what you pay for and the quality of this product is going to last and last. Everything is so well thought out and well crafted. Nothing on this set will break easily like some other brands out there so this is worth every penny in our opinion.

This is brilliant for our 2 1/2 year old active grandson, who always likes to be busy doing things.There is so much here he is never bored,and it’s all very well finished and smoothed off.It’s a toy he can keep playing with as he gets older,so it’s good value for money; I’d definitely recommend it.
This is a nice little workbench, little being the most operative word. It’s meant to be for 3yo+, but tbh the average 18mth old would tower over this, and, could use it under supervision. The finished product is about 2 feet high, by about 1.5 feet wide and 1 foot from back to front, so it’s surprisingly compact. In the box, it’s a dead weight at about 10lbs, so this needs to be handled with care and it also needs an adult to screw the various pieces in. You do get instructions, but care is needed when choosing pieces, as some have holes and some don’t. It’s nice bonding for a parent and child to be doing this part.
The tools and bench are of decent quality and ends/bits and bobs don’t come off easily, so this is reassuring. But, it’s simple pine/cheap wood and I’m not sure about lasting power and whether pieces of wood will splinter off, though of course any rough edges that might occur (none on unpacking and none post-assembly) can be sanded down.
You can’t place this flush against a wall, as a couple of bits on the top back stick out and would cause damage. I think this would be fine for a 2yo to start to use under adult supervision, and it’s great for bonding, for coordination and to develop motor skills. All things considered, though, this is made from cheap materials and I think it’s about 1/3 overpriced at seventy-five quid.
The first thing I noticed about this set is that it’s pretty heavy. It’s made of solid wood, which is really nice, far nicer than plastic. However, unfortunately some of the parts are painted and the paint can flake off after repeated use – not a good idea if you have a young baby who puts things in their mouths. We got this for our three year old grand-daughter as we thought it would be a good idea to teach her the basics of tools (who says tool benches are just for boys?) and she loves it. The set itself is quite small when you put it together, which is a good thing as it doesn’t take up a huge amount of storage space. With the toolbench you get a clamp, saw, hammer, screwdriver, spirit level, right-angle ruler, spanner, chalkboard, turning saw, drill, a handy storage shelf, two planks, nuts and bolts and nails. Enough to teach a child what to do to mend things around the house. Once she has learned the basics I may let her have a go with real tools. The only disadvantage is the price – nearly 75! Yes, it’s pretty well made and robust, and real wood, but that really does seem a bit extortionate.
This is a very nice toy for the DIY-minded youngster.
Each individual piece is smooth and pleasantly tactile to handle. They are chunky and easy to manipulate. The colours are appealing and well-chosen. My only caveat would be that little fingers can become caught in the drawer, and adult supervision would be well-advised for younger children.
I would recommend this set to parents of 3+ kids.
My 2 1/2 year old g-son loves this. He’s taken to mechanical things without any prompting so it was logical to get the workbench. I’d looked at others but this being wood and by Le Toy Van (we have other LTV toys) was a no-brainer. Not difficult to assemble. Look at the photos to see all the pieces one gets with this. Adult supervision desirable though, to prevent enthusiasm getting household items, especially furniture, involved with their creativity. It’s the perfect size for him but older children may find it low.
Our two year old grandson loves his wooden workbench. Its a really well made replica of Daddy’s full size workbench. So when dad is in the garage fixing something our grandson can help out. It really does put a big grin on his face when you see him copying his dads actions. Though its usually up to his Mum to carry it though to the garage. The workbench and tools are all made from well planed and sanded wood, with no chance of splinters. All the pieces are very strong but surprisingly lightweight. The paint doesn’t flake or rub off either. So I can see this toy lasting for years to come. Its the kind of quality toy that will ended being handed down from generation to generation so it is worth the investment.
This is a very high-quality toy which will bring hours of fun and exploration for children aged 3 and up. It took me a good hour and a half to put together – this was not unexpected, but the build does require patience even if you know what you are doing with basic DIY projects. I cannot fault the instructions, but I recommend finding somewhere quiet where you won’t be interrupted while you put it together.
Once made, it is definitely worth the effort! The bench comes with twelve accessories, and places to tidy them up on the back wall and underneath the bench. This is a thoughtful touch for parents as it makes it easier to keep the parts together, and not sprawled all over the floor. My grandchildren who tested this set even enjoyed packing everything away into its rightful place at the end of play sessions.
Overall this is a very high-quality toy – the kind which should provide entertainment for years, or until the children grow out of it and it can be passed on. Highly recommended.
If this is a gift, it might be worth opening it in advance and getting it built because there’s 42 screws and a lot of assembly required but I’d say it only really took around 30-45 minutes (thankfully my dad popped in as I was taking it out the box so it was a great bonding moment with his grandson getting this built but also telling him to leave all the screws alone!). There are 3 sheets of paper — 2 with visuals of the pieces giving them each a letter and the third with 6 steps to assemble it. It’s not that hard to understand but you do need to make sure you get pieces the right way up and once the sides are built, attach the shelf before putting the front on. I loved the fact the legs did actually come with stickers on with their piece letter to take the hassle out of that as 2 of them only have 1 screw hole whereas the others have 2. If you’re not a fan of ‘Le Toy Van’ logo you could put that piece in the back instead of the front. Overall though it’s a great set with lots of tools. My son was grabbing the screwdriver to help his granddad so it’s amazing to see his understanding of what tool is used for what. There’s a saw, drill, mallet, clamp, screws, nuts, spirit level and much more. The little blackboard doesn’t come with any chalk though. It is painted wood so colour does transfer and it does dent easily if hit with the wooden pieces but overall it’s very sturdy and a decent size at 21″x16″x14″.
Elsie absolutely adores this. She is nearly 2 and a half and she and her parents have recently moved into an old house that needs renovating so Daddy is very busy at the weekends and Elsie likes to ‘help’. This is ideal for children who like to be busy, which in my experience is most of them. She loves playing with the screwdrivers and the saw as she thinks she’s the same as Grandad (who is a carpenter). Brilliant for imaginative play and for general motor skills. Highly recommend
Like all Le Toy Van products, this is top quality and well worth the money. Wooden toys last long and are fantastic for inspiring a child’s imagination. This tool bench is easy for an adult to put together and will last for many years; until the child out grows it. The included tools are excellent representations of the real things and will make any child feel that they are in their own workshop, like daddy (or mummy). The colours are excellent. Bright enough to engage the child but not too bright that they detract from the realism of it.
Any boy or girl would be pleased to receive this as a present.
This is a lovely little wooden play set designed to encourage learning through play.
The bench is easy to assemble and looks lovely when built, which is a good thing as it can’t be followed up and out away.
The tools are cute and little one loves to play with them copying what he has seen, everything seems pretty sturdy too.
Size wise this isn’t huge, if you are expecting something the size of the old plastic play kitchens you will be disappointed as it is nothing like that size, we have put it in a small table to make it more to play with while standing up.

A lovely toy. Well made with a satin smooth finish to the box and tools, so no worries about splinters. The tools are satisfyingly chunky and well designed for small hands – the pliers open and close, the nuts fit easily on the bolts on the tool box. Lovely colours to appeal to all children, a box which is a good size to be carried around and to accommodate other toys – which children often do. Not too big that it takes up lots of room. This has been a great success with the two little girls I gave it to (aged 2 & 3) and they love playing with it. Excellent quality, and I’m sure it will last for years.
I have waited a little while to post my review for this toy workbench as I wanted to give some of the other children in my family an opportunity to have a go with it.
The item comes flat packed and isn’t too difficult to put together (just a screwdriver needed). This being said, in my opinion the supplied instructions could be a touch clearer.
Once built, the finished product looks lovely and the materials used are clearly of a high quality. The bright colours are immediately attractive to a child and there are plenty of tools and functions to keep little hands occupied. The worktop is just the right height for a 3/4 year old and several of the younger children in my family have enjoyed exploring it. The best features for me are the circular saw, the vice and the spirit level (cleverly realised using a bead on a string!). My daughter also liked the clock, which has movable hands. The tray underneath is another useful feature, we have used ours to accommodate another wooden toolbox we already owned.
Whilst I do like the product, it is not without a few issues. The measuring gauge is very easy to side right off the side of the worktop, something I observed my nephew doing repeatedly. Likewise the little nails are easy to hammer into the holes, but nigh on impossible for a young child to pull back out without adult help. Additionally the nuts and bolts go together nicely, but the bolts are to big to go through any of the holes (so you can’t bolt them to the supplied bit of wood).
In summary, this is a good looking high quality toy. It is however rather expensive. Had there been none of the (albeit minor) niggles mentioned above I may have forgiven this, but with many other similar and cheaper items on the market, I am not sure it gets full marks from me.
A really lovely study wooden tool kit. It comes in simple packaging and includes a variety of wooden tools to play with. The quality of the tools is really good and they feel really sturdy. They’ll get so much use and stand up to boisterous play.
As you would expect from Le Toy Van this is a superb piece of kit. It’s all solid wood and comes flat packed in a weighty box.
Assembly is relatively straightforward with all the parts supplied. You just need a screwdriver. Once assembled it’s beautiful and substantial and provides a range of wooden mock tools but with some functionality that provides hours of imaginative play for young children. They could be preschool or somewhat beyond depending on their maturity. it’s not cheap but it’s worth the money and I wish more things were like this these days i.e. not moulded from plastic to go into recycling or landfill within a few months! This is a premium quality toy set. All wood, no plastic – well designed and very positive for the child in terms of learning skills.
It’s very interactive, and really lets the imagination free – my son spends literally hours doing things with it. It’s a good way to teach him how to use the tools and think about how he might construct designs. It’s fun to watch him pretend to make things.
It’s not that straightforward to assemble – it took about 30 minutes, but wasn’t particularly complicated.
Considering the quality and the way it has been enthusiastically embraced by the offspring, I’d consider the asking price to be money well spent.

The tool box itself is very sturdy and smooth with no sharp bits and the pull out drawer helps everything to be tidied away easily. It comes with tools including pliers, screwdriver and hammer. There are 2 nails, a screw and bolt which can be fastened into the piece of wood or through the additional holes on the side of tool box. There’s also a fabric bag which can fasten on and a toy glue. My 4 year old has enjoyed role play with this set and is ideal for children aged around 3-5.
This is a delightful toy workbench that is extremely well made. It’s brightly coloured and made from wood with no sharp edges, the attention the detail is very impressive and provides a genuinely immersive play woodwork experience for any young child.
The accessories, including bolts and screws, is a great touch and adds to the interactivity of the whole toy, providing many hours of fun for a child and, being sturdy, means the workbench can withstand the rigors that any child puts it through.
It’s quite a pricey item and takes a little patience to initially assemble, but it’s very much worth it, a real fun and educational toy.
My little boy loves this especially so as we are having work done to the house. Great made from quality materials. A good selection of “tools”. Really great product that gets the thumbs up from my boy!
4* Can I Help Dad?
With a 3 year old who wants to help with every DIY job around the house, toys like this are very handy.
There are plenty of wooden tool sets in a generic wooden tool box on the market but this one is very nice. It is colourful with a draw including little markings of where tools should be placed. On the other side is a little chalkboard for making little notes. The items included are: a hammer, saw, pliers, glue pot, screwdriver, 2 nails, nut and bolt and wooden plank with holes.
The whole set is constructed from wood and is robust enough to take a hammering from a 3 year old. Overall a good quality product which could perhaps include a few more nails and screws but which small children will enjoy.
Le toy can provide quality wooden toys which will keep for generations, hence the often bigger price tag. This tool set is something you will keep, it is well made, withstands a battering and is visually pleasing.
There are enough tools to keep your little one busy and each has it’s place outlined in the box so they can hopefully learn how to tidy up properly!
I love these wooden toys, and the quality is fantastic. Environmentally considered, the packaging is recyclable, the wood is sustainably sourced – you can tell as a company that they care.
The build itself is lovely – varnished nicely, rounded edges, block colour and well painted tools, and it’s all smooth functioning and works well. I much prefer having this around than mountains and mountains of plastic. My nephew loves it, and it’s just the right height. Functional and good fun, and looks great considering it has to stay built.
Ok, it’s not your cheapest of toys, I must agree. Ok, there are other toys similar to this one at a much lower price, but they are either full of plastic or poor quality wood where the paint starts peeling soon and wood chipping. This is unbelievably solid , every edge is rounded for safety, colours are vibrant, every small detail , every tiny item has its place and its function.
It does take an hour to build and may be a bit fiddly, but really worth it. My little nephew could not wait for it to be build today. Sadly, it’s a bit too advance for him, so we mainly assembled it to see if it’s worth buying in the first place, and it goes in the box and away for another year, until the is a bit older to understand it’s not a to knock on. Lol.

This was quite easy to assemble but I recommend getting everything out in front of you first so you can see what’s what and what you’ve got. You have an item list on one sheet, and numbers for each item and instructions in the other list.
As long as you have both lists and everything in front of you it’s fairly easy.
Each step has a diagram which is easy to follow, shows you the numbers of each item to put and where.
The only fiddly item I found was the table saw, it was a little hard to get the screw in underneath but once the whole piece was on its side, that was fairly easy too!
With the bottom shelf, don’t forget to put that in before you have closed up all 3 sides.
Every item has it’s own unique presentation. Every item is a fun colour and easily catches the kids attention, the detail is immense!
All items are quite big and chunky, good for little ones!
Nothing feels like it will fall apart, it all seems durable.
It’s all very well made and very tightly put together with plenty of screws to keep all in place.
On top there are places for the kids to practise screwing and hammering, bits and pieces to practise with nuts and bolts too!
I would definitely recommend this, it will last a long time!
We have quite a few Le Toy products now and I’ve been impressed with their quality and durability. This is another example of a great toy which will have longevity.
Although it may seem expensive at first, you’re going to get a good few years out of this tool box and nothing on it looks as if it will break easily. My four year old nephew enjoyed walking around the house with his Granddad ‘helping’ with the odd jobs around the house.
It also comes nicely boxed (without excessive plastic packaging) if you were thinking of giving it as a gift.

Wow what can I say, I wish I was a kid again so I could have toys like this.
Excellent for little children that have seen dad in the garage and always wanted to play with his tools.
This little bench is excellent quality. Comes flat packed In a box with a handle for easy transport. It is fairly heavy and took be about 20 mins to put together.. pretty simple to do so.
The bench comes with a number of tools again which are well made and hook to the back of the bench. My little son loved it and started banging and sawing right away.
Well made and would recommend, might feel a little pricey but worth it due to quality. It is all made from wood not plastic!
This has arrived in great condition, well packaged. We have tried a couple of things from Le Toy Van and have come to appreciate their attention to detail at every aspect. The toys are bright, colourful and engaging for little ones with imagination in mind. They are made well, withstand a lot of play and moving about.
This set is no exception. It is full of creative pieces to fuel kids imaginations. It stands at the right height and comes with all the usual pieces you would expect from a grown up work bench. Our children have had hours of fun with this one!!
This beautiful vintage style wooden tool box by Le Toy Van is lovely, wonderfully made with good detail, solid and has an air of quality about it and makes for a really lovely gift – love it!
There’s lots to do for your budding little builder and it’s clearly had a lot of consideration into utilizing as many activities as possible to hold interest. There’s the little screw driver along with a working wooden screw that can be used for practice (and even a little wooden washer/bolt to put on the other side afterwards), a sweet little hammer for tapping in the nails/pegs that are included, and a pair of pliers with each of these three tools fitting into the draw which has their shapes marked out for picture matching/learning also, there is also a saw and plank of wood, a pot of glue and a really cute little bag to keep stuff in.
And there’s a little blackboard on the back for quieter moments, too! I really love this little set. It’s very nice and very nicely made and a real nice alternative to more modern toys.
This is a toy to love, it so classic in style instead of all these whistles and bells toys needing a million batteries just to get it out of the box ! Its not cheap no but this is the sort of toy that will last for years and more than one generation of kids if stored well. well built and made from quality materials this would be loved by any child and really will help with imagination play and building up all sorts of different skills. this is a good size and well worth every penny. this is a classic father Christmas gift for sure.
My 3 year old and 1 year old both LOVED this and squealed with delight over it! It’s so adorable, I love that the drawer has crime scene like body outlines to teach them where the tools go! (only description my sleep deprived mine could derive). The little tool bag on the side, and chalk board on the back is that extra lovely touch! The tools and box are very sturdy and like all Le Toy Van products we have so far, has not disappointed!!!!!!! We highly recommend this for anyone, as it’s completely unisex, another great bonus!

This work bench was easy to put together and is solidly made and all the tools (12) were good quality. My only comment would be that it is a little on the small side so a little low even for my 3 year old, but she was quite happy to play there. Not quite so keen as my 3 year old boy neighbour who didn’t want to go home. It is expensive at over 100 but I feel it will stand the test of time.
This is a high priced item. And for that money, over 100 for a child’s toy, it has to be top notch to give any kind of value for money. Is it?
Fortunately, it is! Well made with good quality materials, it also happens to be easy to assemble, good looking and fun for youngsters. Which it is. In short, this item really delivers. Hours and hours of fun with practical, hard-wearing accessories, this gives you real value and real excitement.
This toy is not cheap. But it is beautifully designed and durable. I like the details, such as the little bead on a pice of string on the spirit level; and the working clamp. My four year old boy enjoys using the spanner and screwdriver. From an adult perspective, it is a beautiful piece of furniture that you can happily have in your living room, rather than squirrelling it away into the kids’ rooms. From a kids’ perspective, it’s a toy with a lot of detail that will last forever and can be used in conjunction with other woodworking toys.
OK, it’s Alex the carpenter, not Bob the builder, but this lovely work-bench gives scope to hours of imaginative play. It comes flat-packed but is easy to assemble (just ask Alex). It’s made in Indonesia from sustainable rubber wood and MDF and is hand painted with non-toxic water based paint, which you can sponge clean.
When assembled, the bench measures 39 x 50 x 77.5 cms, which is a little on the low side for many children nowadays, but it wouldn’t be difficult to make blocks for the bench to stand on according to how tall your child is.
The bench comes with 12 wooden accessories:
A hand saw, hammer, screwdriver,spanner, spirit level, 2 bolts 2 screws, 2 nails, and a piece of pre-drilled wood. There is a static circular saw, a measuring gauge, and a vice. There is a large lower storage shelf and the ‘head’board on top (which doubles as a chalk board) has a painted clock with movable hands, and a painted radio.
Le Van recommend this toy for 3years+ and boast that it is a non-gendered toy. I asked 9 little girls in our family if they would be pleased with a work-bench and none of them were remotely interested! The boys were much more enthusiastic though. It complies with the strictest safety regulations, although there is a warning about small parts constituting a choking hazard.

Toys like this are fun but educational and develop many different skills such as imagination, choice, sharing, motor skills, dexterity and co-ordination, problem solving, simple arithmetic (totting up measurements on the chalk board), telling the time, and of course, learning the names of different items and how to use them safely.

This wooden toy tool box for young children is of outstanding quality and a superior alternative to the ubiquitous plastic toys. It days 3+ on the box but I think suitable for ages 2+ as there are no small parts that present a hazard. You get a tool box and various tools like a saw, screwdriver and pliers. The build quality is fantastic with good use of colour highlights throughout. It will provide years of pretend play for youngsters whatever their gender. My niece loves it.
My kids loved this. As soon as it was out the box they were hammering things and prending to build things. Great for imagination play. It’s well made and good quality too which is a bonus. Will last years I hope.
Although this is a nice idea for a toy, I’m not quite as keen on this toolbox set as on some of the other wooden toys from the same range. Somewhat ironically, this isn’t as well finished as other toys I’ve experienced from the brand — with rough, and in a few places splintery edges on several pieces. This has a slightly different style of finish from most other toys I’ve encountered from this brand — more natural and connected to wood — with several of the pieces stained rather than painted to acquire their bright colours, and natural wood elements on both the tool box and some of the tools left bare of varnish/polish.
This is a nice idea for a set, with holes in the tool box that accommodate pegs and a screw and nut (which can be fastened using the little screwdriver and hammer. The drawer on the toolbox opens, but has a stop to prevent it from falling out, and is marked out with places for particular tools. There’s a little bag that attaches by means of Velcro straps to the box. One side panel on the box is painted in a matt black finish that can be used as a mini blackboard.
A nice construction/role play toy, with an element of mark making practice thrown in, but perhaps a little disappointing in terms of quality of finish at the price point/ from this brand.
A sturdy and well built toy classic. you really cant argue that sometimes old fashioned is best and this is one of those times where music and batteries and whistles and bells are simply not needed. this toy speaks for itself and will encourage some great imagination play for all kids. even i wanted to play when i saw it !!. well built, bright and cheerful and easy to hold this will be a favourite toy for years i am sure.
As expected from this company, a superb set for three years old upwards, though my seven-year-old enjoyed it too.
Beautiful made in a nice storage box: safe copies of real tools, well finished and designed with lots of stimulation for young minds and lots of projects to undertake.
I am so unbelievably impressed with this product. It’s the cutest little tool box ever, extremely sturdy and durable, lovely colours and the overall quality is just impeccable. I’ve seen a couple reviews stating that it either came in no box or a damaged box, however mine came in perfect condition (see picture attached) and the toy itself has come in perfect condition. This would make an amazing gift!
Wooden toys are one of the best things for children i think. Long lasting and always enjoyable items. This little tool set is really great and very built to a very high standard and not cheap looking at all. It arrived in a very gift able sale retail packaging, fairly big. Inside It came with the storage tool box which had a little storage bag attached to the side. To place into the box there was several items including a saw, hammers nuts and bolts which actually screwed into each other, screw drivers and a pair of pliers which opened and closed. Usually with these sets you don’t get actual operating items there just usually pre cut but this little things do go a long way when its comes down to enjoyment it think. I also lied that in the storage box there is outlines for where each item should be stored which sort of acts like a real item jigsaw which some children find fun. Really nice quality item built and painted to a very high standard. Hours and hours of fun to be had

Le Toy Van make lovely wooden toys and this set is no exception. Very nicely boxed, it contains a toolbox with drawer, tools, screws/nails and bottle of glue, all beautifully made from sustainably sourced wood, together with a cloth bag. I have no doubt this will appeal to many children, enabling them to ‘help’ daddy with his DIY. However, I do think the set is a little expensive when compared with some of the wooden play sets available for children from other manufacturers, hence four stars.

It was very easy to to put together; it took me around half an hour, and my 2 year old was already excited watching me work on it, helping me build it. It looks very sturdy and the size is perfect for him to play with while sitting down. I love the design. It has a lot of differente pieces my toddler likes to pull, push and put together. The pieces are big, so they are easy for him to handle.
Bought this as a christmas present for my 18 month old son and he loves it. It didn’t take long to put together and was very easy to do. The finished product looks great and the quality is very high. The only thing I’m a bit disappointed in is the size as it’s smaller than I was expecting but the dimensions are there to see on the listing so that’s my error for not looking more closely at the details.
This is amazing!! Well worth every penny, my boys love it their two and it is played with daily. It’s small which I like as we have lots of other toys to fit in the house too.

It is well designed and made, has fun features. I noticed the paint comes off on wood slightly. Other than that, it’s such an adorable toy.

My 14 month old grandson absolutely loves his new tool bench – just like Daddy’s. Every piece is separate so it takes a little while to put together (especially when you have a helper) but it’s well worth the effort. Excellent quality
