Great set, easy to assemble, (for true realism Harry potter Lego should self assemble at the wave of a wand) scored low because the set would look so much better built if Lego had included track through the station………

This turned out to be a lot more fore than I had expected. Just the little editions of Trevor the frog and Scabbers make it entertaining enough. The detail is really really good.

As with any lego product quality is really good, took us an afternoon to build, instructions are clear to follow, there were lots of bags of pieces, but to help they are all labelled up making it easier to find what you need. Figurines are great, the whole build is amazing when complete, only slight disapointment there is track shown on the box but none included, I know it isnt motorized but the bit of stationary track would have finished off the look.

Fab, bought as a compromise to the battery operated Hogwarts train for my son, he loved it built it within a few hours but he loves it.

The 6-year-old builder built it himself with minimal help and never ceases to enjoy Lego models. The quality of both the product and instructions is high. A bit pricey but well worth it.

Brought this in the Black Friday event to go along side the Great Hall Lego set I brought for my 10 year old daughter. The set is from the 3rd film and comes with a range of characters to play out the train scene. The attention to detail is amazing and the set looks amazing once set up. It has created hours of fun for both my 10 year old and her 4 year old sister.

We bought this for my son’s 9th birthday as he is Harry Potter mad at the moment and he loved it! This is the first large set he has built by himself without getting distracted halfway through, he was over the moon with it and the detail is fantastic.
Only down side was the price a week later was nearly a third cheaper, when not reduced it is quite expensive.
In saying that our son has put it pride of place in his room.

Typically high quality product from lego. The construction of the platform alone is a great piece of work. My 10 year old is loving putting this together. The instruction manual is well detailed, large step by step photos. A good few hours away from a tablet for my daughter!
Bought this as a Xmas pressie for mar lady. She was absolutely cock a hoop when she opened this. It kept her quiet for a good couple of evenings so it was a win win – making her happy and stopping her from mithering me so I had some peace. I’m now contemplating even bigger sets that will take her longer.

Would have given this 5 stars but it would have been better with an extra carriage instead of just the one and to have been motorised. That said this is a great model and the train can be motorised to run , which I have done and it’s better for it.
Harry potter express train was a Christmas present for my grandson and he was thrilled when he opened it. He was able to build it himself with little help from an adult.

This set comes in two sections; the train and the station. Firstly, the instructions lead you to build the station which is quite a simple build. A little underwhelming on its own (despite some excellent details and playability), but just a backdrop to the main event.
The train itself is a slightly more complicated build when constructing the engine. However, once completed, it really looks the part. This set even stands up to previous Hogwarts express sets.
The minifigures in this set are also expertly made and perfect for the scene. My only issue with this set is how difficult Lego have made this set to motorized. Though not impossible, this set requires a fair bit of modification to place a motor and a battery box within it. Compared to other Lego train sets where they make it simple, even giving you instructions on how to do so. This set also requires a lot of careful sticker placement, which always causes a bit of stress.
Overall, this set is definitely worth the buy for any Harry Potter fan, especially those who enjoy Lego.
I have to agree with the previous reviewer that our box was also squashed and damaged, though it did have (inadequate) outer packaging in our case.
