I have grand children , and put the Lionel polar express train set , around the Xmas tree.they love it.
Beeps obnoxiously loud when train is switched on and remote is switched off, sounds like an alarm clock. This state is a common occurrence when you let a small child play with the toy. Needs a way to quiet this beeping for the adults’ sanity. Otherwise a great value and I do still recommend it.
A mi hijo le encantan los trenes y es fan de la pelcula del Expresso Polar, este regalo lo dejo Santa Claus y alucinooo completamente con el tren, tiene un tamao que impresiona a cualquier nio y adulto, el detalle de la locomotora es hermoso, al igual que el tender y los vagones, el cascabel est hermoso, lo nico que falt para que fuera lo mximo fue que no trae el ticket, eso hubiese sido la cereza en el pastel!

J hesitais a commander ce train.Mais je me suis dcid et j en suis tres fier.Il est d un raliste remarquable les sons sont tres clair.Les phrases lorsque le train roule sont peu intelligible. On ne peu partir l engin sans devoir faire glisser un contact dessus et par le fait demarrer du bruit. Ce bruit est realiste mais il devrait etre un choix sur la tlcommande . Mais le plaisir en l utiliser surpasse ces inconvnients. Un achat qu on ne regrette pas.
This train was a great addition under the Christmas tree. The only issue was breaking my Grandson’s heart by putting it away at the end of the holiday season.

This train is perfect. It makes the sounds and has a remote to control it going forward and reverse. It did not brake and it was easy to assemble.

he original one had the foor prints on the back of the train. this one is just covered in snow. it works and comes with a bell. its aight. 6/10

It also says lights up may I mention that is one LED at the front that’s it, I will look into adding some lights inside the carriages before my three year old grandson sees it, This Like most other buyers is intended to go around our Xmas tree hope this review helps.

Love the train, came in a secure packaging. Even the shipping fee is expensive in Thailand, it is worth buying it. Easy to assemble and works fine, the train do not derail even in its fastest mode. All in all, great product.

My wife bought me the polar express train for our Christmas tree. I set it up Christmas Day And when the grandchildren arrived they all enjoyed playing with it. In fact they enjoyed it so much that after Christmas they asked if the train set could be brought out again. As a result of this I have ordered additional track and as much as my wife does not appreciate the train is set up in the living room. The grandkids come over at least twice a week and play with it by the hour. I have had absolutely no challenges with this train set, tracks or any of the train cars. I am extremely happy to have made this purchase
We ordered it from Singapore and it arrived within 1 week. The train tracks and train cars looked exactly the same as the photos. They were also easy to assemble. My 9-year-old boy assembled them by himself and he really loves it. The package’s tracking information was also sufficiently detailed all the way.
Easy to assemble, lightweight but heavy enough the train stays on the track on carpet. The track connects easily and does not come apart with movement. Even sliding the assembled track over the carpet to move for vacuuming. The sounds from the train can be muted, and are not annoyingly obnoxious. A great price for many hours of fun. It does run on C batteries.

The Train looks very good and works reliably. Possibly, the weak link is the track and it sometimes separates at the connections over an extended period of use or if you try to slide the track. However, the track is really pretty good for the price.

The battery tray in the engine was a bit of a challenge. Diagram is on the box [no manual]; remove the screw holding the little detail panel at the rear. There is a plastic door that may need a flat-blade screwdriver to get it to hinge up. I used a flashlight.
I am 75, we have cats, not grandchildren !! All of use are delighted !
LA verdad que s era la versin que estaba esperando del producto, saba de antemano la escala y vaya que tuve que realizar clculos para poder lograr que cupiera debajo del rbol de navidad, admito que tena aos querindolo conseguir para mi navidad soada, lo prend durante todo el mes de diciembre y la bateras todava funcionan. El detalle del tren en s, es ms para un fin ornamental que como de coleccin, comparado con la versin de escala “O”, hay cosas que deben diferenciarse.
This is a cute train. If you want to have Tom Hanks yelling ‘all aboard!’ throughout your Christmas season this is the one for you. I found that a bit odd LOL. My five-year-old son loved this train and played with it a lot and was reluctant to let us put it away. Much better than the train we had last year which constantly fell apart etc. the strain was sturdy and could be played with for a long time.

We got this for our almost 4 year old to go under the Christmas tree. It is easy to assemble and works great. I only gave it 4 stars on durability because well it’s an inexpensive toy train for a kid so what do you expect. My only complaint is the trains can become decoupled easily from slight bumps. But also easy to put back together. I would recommend this product as a first train for young kids.

I purchased this unit for my grandsons. Both are young and can appreciate the functionality of this train set. I had one as a child and still have my train set. It is totally functional. I know they love trains and this set you can progressively build onto. Good investment.
Train is great, but I got a bill for 42 in import taxes and charges a month later from FedEx which was not made clear at point of order. The seller and Amazon have agreed to refund all extra costs, and acted very quickly on being contacted.

My so. Has watched so many YouTube videos about the polar express trains and has been asking for one for months. For over 100 bucks I didn’t want to get it and have it break or not be kid friendly. Gave it to him for his 4th birthday and he is sooooo excited. Very easy to put together, very easy to use, hasn’t been derailing. So far very happy with it. He LOVES it!

For the quality and detail of this toy, I’m simply amazed what these costs now. In my youth these would be over 200-300 bucks, making them less of a purchased toy and more for the kid that had it all.
Fast forward to today and for under 100 you can get the same cool train, perfect for train lovers and holiday deco. Only downside of this unit is the quality of the speaker that makes sound fx, for just a few more dollars they could have made it more clear and better sounding. And for those with kids…perhaps a mute/volume adjustment? Just a thought.

Great train and sounds exactly like in the movie, just a shame there is no smoke coming out of the train.
All I can say is WOW. I bought this train for my 2 year old grandson and it made his Christmas. The sound of the train , whistle and the conductor’s voice is perfect. The remote is so easy for a child or adult to use. I would be giving this a higher star rating if there was one. Thank you.

The Polar Express Train set was placed under the Christmas Tree. On Christmas day, before I headed to work, I turn on the Train and blew the whistle , The kids were woken up, and ran to the tree and they with joy seeing the train running and with the Christmas gifts in display. Great sound menu, good size. Impressive presentation for a Christmas decoration. It takes a bit of practice to get the “bogey wheels” aligned to the track and the cars coupled but once done it tracks reliably. Long battery life too. Very pleased
After 40 Christmases of raising 3 boys to adulthood, we finally bought this train set to put under the tree for our 2-1/2 year old grandson. We should have bought a train decades ago. This Polar Express train set is great value for the money. The construction quality is really good. Detail is impressive. Plastic track is easy to assemble and seems durable. It takes 6 “C” cell batteries to operate the engine, and 3 AAA batteries for the remote control. These are NOT provided in the kit, so plan to have them on hand.
BTW, the product box says the kit includes 24 straight track pieces and 8 curves ones. It’s actually the reverse. 24 curved pieces and 8 straight ones. There are about 3 different circle or oval layouts you can make with track provided in the kit. Just using the curved track pieces produces a circular track about 4.5′ in diameter. Good size for under a medium Christmas tree.
It is operated by a wireless remote control. It has a forward and reverse variable speed dial control, and three buttons that activate the sounds. One is a whistle, one is the conductor’s voice (sounds like Tom Hanks’ character in the movie), and one is a bell. Well executed sound quality. However, there is no volume control, and it’s fairly loud. The adults in the room will tire of the sounds long before a giddy 2-1/2 year old conductor will.
There is a ‘hack” on the internet to install a variable resistor volume control on the engine’s speaker (which would certainly void any product warranty), but I am somewhat adept at minor electronic work and will try this before next Christmas. If Lionel would include this feature in a future version, it would make a great product almost perfect.
I foresee adding more track, railcars and other accessories in future Christmases. Hopefully Lionel will continue to sell this product line for a while and it will become a lasting memory for us and our grandchildren.

The train was a big hit at Christmas. Easy to assemble and fun to play with. Seems to be very strong as the dog has run it over a few times. Only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the box was damaged upon delivery which is sad because my girlfriend plans to keep this for many years to come.
Bought this train set for my 3.5 old son. Great product; my son loves it! However, I would suggest the packaging information is wrong, as it says 24 straight and 8 curved tracks, but it is opposite.
But you right, it would be better to have 24 straight tracks in order to build a long railway 🙂

This was a gift from Santa to my son. Needless to say the whole family loves it. It’s very durable and made with great quality. Be sure to buy batteries ahead of time so that if gifting to a child they can play right away. It can go slow, medium or fast. Thus far we have NOT had any issues with the remote signal not connecting. Looking forward to adding lights to the passenger train as another reviewer posted (thank you). The sounds it makes are also really cool. The front of the train also has a working headlight. Large enough to go around tree.
