Direi Ottima.

Its build quality is excellent. I don’t carry it in flights as it can be considered as a Kabutan, and they will create a fuss. Would give it 5 rating, but for the issues of using it continuously for about 6 to 8 min, it gets super hot, so not for continuous use. Else its excellent.
The clip is excellent and strong after so many years of usage.

This flashlight is made in the USA, and works well. I am still on my original set of 123 batteries that came with the flashlight, so I can’t comment on the life span the batteries will see.

I think this is a great light. Extremely bright and well built. However, when I bought it I didn’t realize that there is a functional difference between the scalloped and plane bezel. If you get the plain bezel, you will have a high (first click), a low (two quick clicks), and a strobe function (three quick clicks). This was what I really wanted.
If you get the scalloped bezel you get a click-on/release-off, two quick clicks – on, three quick clicks strobe. I have come to like the “pulse” feature, however, a low setting is nice when working in close where the power of the light can be a little blinding (like trying to read a label in a dark tight space like an engine compartment).

I’ve owned mine for going on five years now and only issue is the body is kind of slippery. The light it throws is more than adequate for use in a room or a warehouse. With quality batteries i am more than impressed with the longevity of the batteries. It doesn’t get hot like some other cheaper import clones do. And did i mention i’m still using the original bulb it came with. I particularly like the bezeled end for glass breaking and self defense. And in a self defense situation this will open up a forehead as if it had a zipper. Only suggestion i have is a nonslip coating for the body of the flashlight. Other than that i wouldn’t change anything.

Great little flashlight, I like the push button operation as compared to the other Maglite flashlights that turn to turn on. Thinking of switching to rechargable batteries for the ones supplied won’t last long during operation. It’s very bright and the thickness is perfect, really nice flashlight at a reasonable price. It has three different operating modes and the blinking mode could actually function as a bike light, comes in handy when trying to save battery in blinking mode.

I had a similar design with a rechargeable battery in my everyday bag, but decided that having to recharge it periodically was a pain in the behind, so I bought this and made the rechargeable model my desk flashlight.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersPOSITIVES:
Great tactical light. Bright, is easy to use, and has the 3 essential functions:
    1) Click once for momentary on, useful for signalling (e.g. SOS) or for quickly identifying an intruder without giving away your position,
    2) Click twice for full power (320 lumens!), which can see things 200 yards away or blind an attacker,
    3) Click three times for a strobe light (also 320 lumens!) that can blind and disorient an attacker.

It’s also a perfect size and weight for a tactical light, IMHO.
Big enough to use as a striking weapon for self-defense (and the crowned bezel can help with this), yet
small enough to clip to a pocket or belt and not feel weighed down, or even kept in your pocket. I suggest using the included clip to secure it in place inside a a pocket, with the rear of the flashlight peeking out of the pocket so it’s easy to grasp.

The crowned bezel can be used as a striking weapon for self-defense, or as a glass-breaking tool (in case you’re trapped inside a sinking car). A fringe benefit of the crowned bezel is that if you accidentally leave it on and place it face-down, enough light will leak out that you’ll realize you left it turned on.

    NEGATIVES:
    Only 2 minor shortcomings:
    1) Uses two CR123 batteries, which are more expensive and harder to find than AA or AAA batteries (so I suggest keeping a couple spare batteries). However, the advantage to CR123 batteries is that they’re more powerful than AA batteries (higher voltage), which gives you a brighter light 320 lumens!)
    2) The head of the Mag-Tac is 1.05″ rather than 1″, so it doesn’t fit the same 1″-head accessories as the Maglite Mini-Mag AA, Maglite XL50, Maglite XL100, Maglite XL200, or other 1″ accessories (such as traffic wands, colored lens filters, and anti-roll devices).
However, the tail end is still 1″, so you can put a 1″ anti-roll device on the tail-end and it’ll fit fine.
You can also order traffic wands for the Mag-Tac from Maglite, but at $8 each it would be better if it could share the same traffic wands as all the 1″-head Maglites.

Decent flashlight. Fairly bright. The only bad thing about it is that there’s no way to adjust the focus of the beam. What you get when you turn it on is what you get. At the price paid, I would’ve expected that to be a function of the flashlight.

Nice light. Took a little getting used to the switch. It defaults to “press on”. You have to “doubleclick” it to get it to stay on. But its well built like most Maglites and with 2 CR123’s, its very bright. You can’t really focus it (wide to spot). It unscrews the front glass as you do, and the spread / change is not much at all. The click is a bit weak and slides on the tube some up and down.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersAlmost a year with this light now and I am pretty happy with it. It works as I expected, and much better than the lower-end Maglites I have owned. I cannot say it has been severely tested, but moderate use. I Iike the fact that it’s American made, and does not cost $250. It is a sturdy light, and bright. I have heard a few bad things about the switch, I have not encountered any problems yet. If I could make any changes to it, it would be the brightness, and clip. The brightness is too bright for general use, I would really like to be able to select a brightness of about half of what it is with a mechanical type method of changing it, not in the switch. The clip loosens up and slips/moves, I don’t like this. Need a better to secure the pocket clip. All in all, I am very satisfied with this flashlight.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSo far I really like this flashlight. I wish it had a dimmer brightness setting like the XL50 and the focus isn’t really adjustable but everything else is pretty great. The beam pattern has no hot spots and the light is very bright. There are some marks in the the barrel that look like the casting process was done at too high a temperature, but that’s purely aesthetic. I love the olive drab color and the belt clip. I also sometimes prefer the XL50 due to the availability of AAA batteries vs CR123, but this is easily remedied by purchasing spare batteries ahead of time.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is one of the best items the company has ever made. It has a bright LED 300 lumen light, serrated front edge and multiple modes of operation. It can be used to clip on weapons, used by police and military personnel as a tactical light. It’s great for hunters, hikers and others because of the multiple light modes. It has a strobe for emergency use, momentary on for Morse Code. If you go out in the woods alone a lot this is the item you want. If you get attacked you can bash the attacker with the serrated edge and defend yourself. The casing is tough anodized aluminum that will not slip out of your hands and doesn’t pick up a lot of oil. The texture and coating makes it drop resistant. It does take the special CR123 Batteries, which are available as the rechargeable RCR123 ones, the ones I actually use.

The only con is the provided clip on. It is cheap plastic and will loosen over time and can break easily. Wish someone made a better clip on for this. If this were an option, would give five stars.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThis is a great CR123 flashlight from maglite. It gives my surefire a run for there money at this price point. There are a few issues with it though. It keeps magnlites signature focusing/diffusing adjustable lens, which is great. Its bright and simple to use. Good value. All that being said here are my issues: the finish is weak. Already its been scratched off in a few places from my bag and my pockets. Come on now! Its bigger than it looks. The clip is huge making the flashlight appear a little smaller in the picture than it is. Read the dimensions carefully. Also the clip sucks. It is by far the worst clip Ive ever used. After trying to put it on a second time, the tool broke inside the dumb little screw hole, stranding the plastic hex screw in there. Forcing me to break the thing off to get it out. What a stupid terrible crappy quality design. Use metal and make it smaller and less of an issue, like most other flashlight and even knife makers out there. Also I wish there was a dim mode. Thats a pretty huge oversight at this point. I understand simplicity, but it sucks to have a penlight too for close up work when this is in my load out. I wish the crowned bezel was more aggressive. If you’re going to offer it in two flavors why not go a little more aggressive? They’re very subdued and I’m not sure they are especially suited to self defense. Lastly the switch is easy to use, but i prefer pressure then clicky switches.

For all intents in purposes this is a poor mans Surefire E2d. Worse finish, less refined, no low mode a little bulkier, crappy click a little less throw… Still a maglite solitaire was probably my first flashlight as a little kid, and its nice to see Maglite finally getting into the Cr123/tactical flashlight game with a respectable model that can fit in your pocket.

I own a lot of flashlights, many are maglight products. I’ve been using this flashlight for a couple of weeks now at work and it is the best of the mini-maglight type they have ever produced. The only drawback to this flashlight, the only thing preventing me from giving it 5 stars is that it doesn’t have a low intensity setting. There are times, close up detail work such as reading the data plate on a motor or other device, when the full 340 lumens is simply too bright.

Have been waiting a while for mag to come up with a led light that is everything it should be. Loving this one so far! The clicker has its place on this light, it’s pretty rugged and very bright. Only thing I don’t like about it is the clip. It’s plastic where as the body of the light is aluminum. Seems like it would brake without much effort. Time will tell I suppose. La lampada funziona benissimo potentissima , ma dopo circa una settimana di impiego operativo si comincia a scolorire in alcune parti !!!
E comunque ho notato che si scalda parecchio !

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersI given this little beauty as a present, at the time I was like, OK..its a torch..Thanks. But after I had time to remove it’s from it’s packaging and play with a little I was impressed, I was even more impressed after I found out how much it cost, thanks little brother!

The Maglite MAG-TAC is quite a compact torch, but don’t let this put you off because it is VERY bright and the beam shines for miles, its like a floodlight! But whatever you do not shine the beam into someones eyes because you are likely to melt their retinas! If I was a cop I would keep one of these with me at all times, shine this light in a bad boys face and you could easily take them down, same applies to burglars in your own home, you don’t need to keep a baseball bat under the bed, just keep one these handy, blind them, then knock them out with the torch, its heavy enough!

The build quality is superb, when you hold it in your hand it oozes quality. It might be small, but it feels very heavy and durable, I wouldn’t be surprised is the military or law enforcement really did use this torch.

There only two down sides, firstly this the torch takes 2 x CR 123 type batteries, and if the torch is used regularly they won’t last very long. In the shops they are expensive, but you can currently buy a pack of 10 Panasonic batteries off Amazon for under 13.00.

Secondly, when the battery is low you need to constantly hold your thumb down on the power button, at first I thought my torch had developed a fault, but I later found out that this a safety feature, so that if you are low on juice you can’t accidentally leave your torch switched on and drain the battery. This makes sense if your life depends on having a working torch, but for general domestic use it’s a little unnecessary and a bit annoying.

Overall, I really like this torch and I’m glad I was given it, and I’m sure it will last me for many years.

    Excellent Military Quality Torch!
