We needed a way to display a 4′ x 8′ x 1/2″ sheet of plywood. A pair of these easels did the job. This model is sturdy, easy to assemble and height adjustable. It folds up flat for easy storage. No extra tools for assembly needed because they provide the screwdriver. Nice touch.
Quick arrival. I am going to use the easel to display large art frames I build & was concerned about the sturdiness. It is a little heavier than I anticipated and that combined with a really well thought out design and hardware makes this easel rock solid. I’m glad I bought the one made of ash wood, a hardwood that baseball bats are made of. I imagine that helps. I assembled it between touchdowns and glugs of Dr. Pepper and all told, it only took me 45 minutes. I read other reviews where people had difficulty, but I don’t know how the instructions could be written more clearly.Even the hardware is divided into separate, clearly labeled bags. They include a decent Philips screw driver, but a #2 size Philips would probably be a little better. It is easily adjustable, but that doesn’t make it loose goosey. I almost bought the knock off, cheaper brand, but this one is worth every penny. I couldn’t be more satisfied. Thanks for a great product.
This is a great easel for smaller spaces, like basements or apartments, that can’t accommodate a taller one and you don’t want to use a tabletop easel. The quality is as expected in this price range, operation is smooth, weight is manageable and it is sturdy to paint on. My only ‘slightly’ negative comment is that it really is an easel to sit at. It’s just not tall enough to stand with the work at eye level. That is ok if it’s what you are looking for, as I was. Note that there is no place to hold paints or materials, the shelf is only for the canvas. Recommend this easel.
So much to like about this easel. Suitable for adults and quite small children. I bought it for my 8 year old boy who is still very small. It’s sufficiently well made that he’ll have this for life if he continues painting, even if he grows tall.
One of the features I really appreciated was the care and attention that has gone into the instruction manual and packaging all the screws and fixings. This made assembling what is a a fairly elaborate product very easy experience.
The package included quite a few different sized screws and fixings. But each different fixing came in its own little pack, labelled A,B,C etc. Each assembly step called for just one fixing type so knew exactly what part I needed to use for each step and had it to hand.
The build quality is good and looks good too. It’s made of solid / sturdy beech wood. Looks good and has everything you need for a studio easel. The inclusion of a stepped locking mechanism and the top fixing bar make this very good value for money.
Amazon asks users to rate this for being lightweight, which seems rather dumb to me. Although it folds down, it’s not designed to be be a travelling easel. It’s for the studio, around the house etc. You really want it to be heavy enough to withstand accidental knocks.
All in all, very pleased. I should say I’d actually actually purchased another easel made of beech from Officeworks for about the same price before I bought this, but in comparison to this, it was really lacking in features, so I returned it in favour of this one. Definitely the right decision.
This is a great easel! I bought it to display a large and very heavy framed piece of art and the easel is very sturdy and easily supports the weight of it. It’s easily adjustable also. It’s a little tricky to put together but worth the effort.
We got this easel as a ‘display’ model to show off various pictures in a lobby. For that purpose, it is very functional and attractive. In my opinion, it’s too nice for everyday painting use. I would just opt for a plain natural wood version. BUT it is sturdy enough for everyday use I believe.
Standing at this easel isn’t possible due to the base won’t go high enough
Love how it looks! It comes with all the tools you need to put it together. (I have mid level skills at building furniture.) Instructions do not have any words but if you follow the diagrams exactly (pay attention to details) you’ll be fine. Took about 20 minutes to build.
Habe es fr meine Freundin aufgebaut. Der Aufbau war sehr komplex aber das Endresultat ist top! Sehr schne Farbe.
Very easy to put together, well manufactured and easy to adjust height as long as the canvas isn’t too big. I find it’s a bit wobbly, but have to expect that with a three leg design. I would buy another one.

Die Staffelei kam schnell mit der Post. Leider war ein Teil etwas eingedrckt, weshalb ich dem Kundenservice (Mail steht auf dem Pckchen) direkt geschrieben habe. Der Lundenservice antwortete innerhalb eines Tages (verstehen nur englisch) und bat an mir direkt eine neue Staffelei zu senden. Diese kam auch flott. Bin sehr zufrieden!
La cosa che mi ha pi sopreso la precisione delle istruzioni nella scatola di montaggio, un divertimento l’installazione che risulta praticamente perfetta. Consigliatissimo.
I like this easel because of the fit and finish of it all parts are smooth and well fitting. I have one complaint for the Meeden people, The lower bar holding your canvas is a little loose and needs to be tight against the uprights to hold the canvas steady while working on a project. I am fabricating something to sturdy this problem, I am lucky to have a shop to do this. I would not hesitate to buy this easel it is very good. I am an engineer and cannot help myself. LOL
Makes my 6 year old beginner feel like an artist because it is made for a pro. Solid , stable, adjustable for any artist’s needs. Easy to move.
Very much worth the cost. Its sturdy and has a good quality. The instructions could have been a bit more detailed. You really have to pay attention to the holes on the wood to ensure they are turned correctly when assembling,But the product of itself is very good, i’m satisfied
at first…I was concerned about putting it together. but I was wrong. EASY to assemble. dierections were made by someone who knows how make it easy to assemble…..every piece was there. Ive been painting for the last month with 30×48 and it holds the canvas with ease. love this item.
