Straight swap, one point is if you are changing an old shower the locking clip needs to be down before the old pipe will come out. Other than that took me about 5mins to change over after laying it all out ready. Shower is good, found it takes a little time to get up to the same speeds as old shower but really makes no difference.

Bought this model 15 years ago very impressed with how reliable this mira shower is. When I needed to buy a new one I bought latest model. Very quiet for a power shower works well and looks good. Highly recomend.

Brilliant… had exact dame model previously for a number of years…. got a little old and worn from daily use and started to smell of electrical burning…. decided to change whole unit bought it on Amazon… mate installed it in under an hour and hey presto …. beautiful hot showers
Vast improvement over our electric instantaneous showe
I promised my wife that when our electric shower next blew its temperature sensor, I would replace it with a power shower, rather than repair it again. That time came early in 2021. I opted for this type of power shower with the built-in pump rather than external to keep the installation simple. The instructions provided by Mira are clear and easy to follow as long as you have reasonably good DIY plumbing skills. Our house does not afford a huge water-tank head so based on the calculations therein, I opted to run 22mm pipe direct from the hot and cold water supplies.
Once installed, the shower does not disappoint. It provides the lovely deluge of water we were expecting.
I have just two minor points. Having an internal pump makes it a little noisy. It’s not intrusive but definitely noticeable.
The other thing to be aware of is if you alter the temperature during your shower, make sure you step out of the flow first. Increasing temperature gives you a short burst of hot and similarly, lowering it gives a short burst of cold water. The experience is at worst unpleasant but you do make an involuntary noise the first time it happens.
Apart from that it’s a huge improvement on the old shower and I’ve gained many Brownie points with my good lady wife.

Great product which I have used for some years. The old one had worn out. To be honest I got a profesional to install it which he did easily and quickly.
Easy straight swap but don’t expect the plastic to be of top quality
This was a replacement for a previous Mira Event power shower I had. The one great thing about it is all the connections were in the same place so it was pretty much a straight swap. I have to say the quality of the plastic is inferior compared to my previous unit. It feels less substantial and the temperature dial is a lot more flimsy and feels cheaply made. My previous shower’s temp dial felt substantial and solid even though it was plastic, this one is def of a lower quality
Top quality & easy to install
High quality unit that fits the pipe configuration from the old version (10 years old). It comes with a tool to help prize off the old unit from the pipes but have found, after doing 3 separate units, that the easiest way to get the old system out is to hacksaw the plastic sleeve (assumes you won’t be need ing the old shower!)
The shower head is larger than before which is nice.

Well made and reliable
Quite expensive but you get what you pay for. This is the 3rd example of this design I have had. The only drawbacks are a poorly designed on/off switch and a tendency for the inline water filters to clog up.
Easy to fit, works great, delivers a good strong flow of temperature controlled water (8l per mins is a lot). You can adjust the flow with the knob. Shower head has 3 differing sprays, hose is well made plastic. Overall a great shower.
I had an older model of this that worked flawlessly for over 20 years. I decided to replace it only because the plastic was going very yellow / old looking. This new shower is the same design, quieter and delivers a much better spray pattern. You can also get spares for the shower relative cheaply and they are easy to fix (usually solenoid goes after 10 years !!). In my experience one of the best showers you can buy.
Power Showe
Have had Mira Showers over the years all have been good. This ‘Power Shower’ is lovely, the force of ‘hot water’ onto the back of ones neck and spine, warms the bones in your body, freshens the brain cells to help improve your flippant remarks to the unwanted phone calls from energy suppliers. You know the ones!!!!

Forget about Electric Showers you need a Power Shower!
Got this a few weeks ago and it has transformed my showering experience. Had an electric shower which wasn’t too bad in the beginning. The inevitable hard water took its toll. Having installed the Event XS power shower, it’s been night and day. Like being in a hotel. I would never go back if I have any say in the matter.
The only down side is having to use the hot water in the house so using the heating oil a bit more but so far not a huge change as it’s winter and would be putting on the heat anyway. Will be more annoying in the summer I’d imagine. That’s got nothing to do with the shower itself of course. Can’t fault this particular shower as it’s fairly simple and easy to use. The manual control has been fine so far and have had no problems with water suddenly being too hot for example. The price on Amazon wasn’t bad to be fair and cheaper than buying locally. Would definitely recommend.

Bought this Mira Event XL Thermostatic power show to replace an older version of exactly the same model.The internal design has been reconfigured to remove the previous small water reservoir where hot and cold mixed.The result is a much less effective temperature control, which does not maintain a flow at a constant temperature.The pump also appears less powerful, which lessens the strength of the water jets.The whole point of a power shower is to have a strong and powerful, constant temperature flow.Having said all that, it is a perfectly acceptable shower; just not as good as it used to be with the older model..

Bought to replace the exact same model that finally expired after a decade of daily use. Hoping this lasts as long. Much quieter in use than previous model. Only downside is the manufacture date is 2016 on the box so slightly old stock……

Direct replacement model for model as we were so pleased with the performance and endueance of the old one. Fitted by my plumber son-in-law in next to no time as all the pipes were in the same configuration. Very good quality fittings and fixtures supplied with the shower unit which were easy to assemble and fit. Smashing water flow again and quiet has been restored. I can recommend this power shower for cost and reliability as well as ease of use.
Recommended by our plumber for use with our type of water heating/plumbing, and he was absolutely right. It may not be the cheapest of its type, but our previous Mira showers have always been excellent and lasted for years, so was happy to pay a bit more for it. Far far better than the one it replaced which came with the bathroom when we bought the house
Delighted with this shower, the tank is only a foot or so above the shower and the flow of the shower is brillaint, I couldn’t believe it. A bit pricey compared to the Mira Vigour (also excellent BTW) but I opted for this because of the proximity of the tank. Two separate knobs for temperature and pressure , so probably ideal for senior citizens.
Overall very pleased.

Got a good plumber to install it replacing 20 year old Mira Event power shower. He had a bit of difficulty as the new shower was slightly bigger but for it done and it’s a great shower which is the main thing. Good flow. Power if you want it. I normally have it set on half way.

A really nice shower. I was lucky to buy a shop soiled one at a discount. However, the damage was really to the packaging only. The item itself is fine. I had a previous one of the same model, but it eventually burnt out inside and so had to replace it.
LIKE- I liked the fact that the Plumber had removed the previous MIRA EVENT body from the wall whilst the steam was still coming from his tea. There was still steam from said tea when the unit was ready to go. The new shower has similar hole centres, appears to have the same water delivery, ( I measured it in a mixing jug), and if it keeps up with the previous MIRA EVENT we will be well happy, we had that installed 40 months ago and it gave up the ghost but still working, 5000 showers later yes 5000!!!!! That is 6p a shower. Major DIS-LIKE- The only modification I think would have been necessary from a cleaning point of view would have been the addition of a plastic coating around the hose, which the new hose has, but now I run the risk of having to drill through a newly tiled bath surround which I am loathed to do…. keep it simple, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

We had a Mira Event XS thermostatic for over 10 years and with a family of 4, it was in use a lot in it’s lifetime. We never had any problems with it and have only replaced it this week as our shower cubicle and tiles needed updating. The plumber had to remove the Mira shower unit and when he took the cover off, it was fairly black inside. It was clearly showing signs of age but it was actually still working ok. I did actually read the reviews from people who had purchased the updated Mira model and even though most were 4 or 5 star rated, a few were not good. One in particular talked about difficulty of fitting and poor quality of the chrome bar for the shower head. Others mentioned poor instructions. What’s interesting is the negative reviews come from people who are clearly not qualified to fit electric showers….they’re not PLUMBERS! I showed one or two of the reviews to our plumber and he just gave us a wry smile! This is a great shower unit but best to get a professional to fit it.
My last Mira Shower lasted for 10 years, being used daily, and I was so pleased with it that when it failed I replaced it with the updated version which despite the passage of time still had the same layout internally for pipes etc and only took one hour to fit (not by me).
