Great iron bit heavy but really cuts thru the creases

This is a medium weight iron, not lightweight nor heavy. First use it leaked a bit but I put that down to getting used to the controls. Does the job.

The cord on this iron is long which is extremely handy. So far I haven’t needed to use the steam function it does the job on cotton shirts well enough without it.

It’s a heavy iron, that’s for sure. The thermostat moves far too easily and I have to keep moving it back to the position it was in. It can be difficult to hold the iron without pressing the steam shot, but I’m getting used to it. Most of the time I don’t need to use steam as it irons so well. At first, I didn’t like it, but it does the job so well that it’s worth persevering.

Good iron. The steam function is very good. However this is one heavy iron.

This Iron was bought to replace an old one from the same manufacturer that had served well but no longer steamed. The replacement has a much better steaming capability whilst enjoying the ease of use and weight of its predecessor. It is simple to set the controls. An excellent produc

It’s a light weight iron that actually does make ironing easier, both in time and effort. It’s instructions are easy to follow and I have to say it was well worth buying.

I bought this iron after reading reviews and it is good quality and irons well. It’s not lightweight because the weight means it’s ironing better. I would buy it again.

Even though I paid more for this iron then I normally do I am glad I did. Best iron ever. Got some weight to it so great for getting out the creases but still easy to use. Glides wonderfully.

The iron is a good weight not too heavy but a nice weight to press clothes well. Steam is good, it reaches a good temperature is easy to fill and see water level. Very happy with this iron.

This is a really good iron. It is not heavy, it makes ironing a lot easier, stubborn creases on my linen dress just came out. I don’t have to use the water spray. You don’t have to use the linen setting I ironed a lot of hankies on the middle setting with ease. Buy it, it is a really super iron.

I’ve just purchased this iron and used it once. It’s not as light as my last iron but still couldn’t be classed as heavy. It has a long cord and is easy to use and ironed beautifully. Just hope it lasts!

Decent iron that heats quickly, gives off a good amount of steam and has a reasonably sized water tank so doesn’t need refilling every two minutes. Four stars.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve had many different irons over the years (don’t ask why!!) but this is one of the beat. Nice weight for me, I don’t like them too heavy nor too light. Easy to use, fill with water etc. If I don’t let himself near the iron, hopefully this one will last!

With a very quick leap to my desired temperature this iron irons out all my doubts as to whether it can perform and leaves my clothes and impressions crisp.

This is one of the more lightweight irons that I have used and the way it just glides over clothing is really impressive. It arrived safely and comes nicely packed in a well-presented retail box along with a filling bottle and instructions. I love the generous 3m length of cord you get with this iron; it makes it so much easier to walk around the ironing board and I no longer have to use an extension lead like I did with my old iron.

No matter what heat setting you choose the iron gets up to temperature nice and quick. You can use the iron with or without steam and the 170g Steam Boost feature works really well. This model features a large water tank and seems to be very efficient with its water usage.

When using it on an ironing board, the way it glides over my clothes is fantastic, the ceramic soleplate is excellent and there is little to no resistance which makes it a pleasure to use as you get so much more control over the iron when you can just change direction with ease without it “grabbing” your clothing like others do.

The iron is easy to fill thanks to its wide water inlet and comes with some great safety features like auto-shutoff after 8 minutes if left standing or after 1 minute if left with the soleplate down. The quality of the iron is very good all-around, and the power cable is thick and well protected.

Overall, I think this is an excellent iron from morphy Richards as its good quality, lightweight, easy to use and great value for money. For a pleasant ironing experience I highly recommend this one and I feel it’s definitely worth the full five stars, buy with confidence!

This Morphy Richards iron is just perfect. It has a good weight, extra long 3 meters cable, ideal for curtains. It’s really powerful. I like that it switches off automatically, it’s really useful. If you are after an iron I would recommend this.

This iron made me to understand that, to do a good ironing and quick is not enough only skill. The iron is important aswell, it does a splendid job, it’s easy to handle. I like it.

  30. FannieSingletar says:

It’s extremely powerful and makes quick work of even the most stubborn creases (especially those on clothes that have been folded for too long!).

The iron heats up quickly as well and glides over different fabrics seamlessly without leaving too much water. I can wear my clothes straight after ironing them without having to worry about them being too damp.

I love how padded the handle is and this makes it comfy to manoeuvre around for long ironing sessions.

The water chamber is easy to refill, and the large tank makes it perfect for ironing batches of clothes and not having to pause and refill multiple times.

The self-clean function is a huge plus and makes cleaning so much easier. I’d recommend using it at least once or twice every two weeks to prolong the life of the iron.

A reliable and hard-wearing iron with a fantastic colour design and build quality as would be expected from the brand. Would be happy to recommend.

This is powerful iron, it is smooth to run over clothing and good at getting out those stubborn creases.

I like the large water tank, it saves a few pauses in ironing while having to refill the usual little tanks. It offers a good steam boost which helps to move those little creases, leaving the clothing crease free. You feel the iron is gliding over the fabric, it really does make the ironing a easier task.

I don’t like ironing and do put it off, I doubt that will change but I won’t be dreading it quite as much knowing I have a decent iron at hand.

I can highly recommend this iron, it really does make a difference.

  32. Kourtnee Jackson says:

This iron has a wonderfully polished base which simply slides over your clothes – so that as long as you don’t walk away and leave it to burn something, it will continue to glide for a very long time.. It heats up very quickly, and I would recommend that you carefully check the dial because it is quicker to heat up than it is to cool down. The Cable is long – 3m – so no problems running out of length and the capacity of the iron to hold water is quite high, so there is always enough steam – in fact this is not an iron, it is a steam iron, and this is a real point. You can squirt an intense volley of steam at any time and it will get out any crease that you fire it at.
Other important points are the fact that if you do walk away from it for long, it will turn itself off, which is an important safety feature and in addition this unusually comes with a four year guarantee – this must be a very good thing indeed!!!
This is a great steam iron and one that will give long service to anyone who treats it well. I certainly have grown to love it!

This morphy Richards turbosteam iron comes nicely boxed. It is a really nice looking iron and it also comes with a 4 year guarantee. It has a nice long 3m cable and the best feature that I think it has is auto shut off. It has a large tank- 380ml so you are not constantly refilling with water. It honestly makes ironing effortless and gets rid of creases quickly and easily.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersMorphy Richards 303140 Turbosteam Iron Manual

I used to be the worst in the town at iron clothes, until, I purchased this bad boy iron by Morphy Richards. I’m suddenly ironing clothes so perfectly, not a single crease. The best part? It literally took me a few seconds and I’m suddenly better than all the grannies that used to mock my ironing skills. Life changing.

Firstly, I love how lightweight this iron is! You can finally say goodbye to those dreadful arm aches you get from dragging and lifting that iron. It also features a long 3m cord that is super high quality and will give you less restriction and more freedom when ironing. The handle is great and super comfortable, it’s clear that Morphy Richards have considered ergonomics here as I no longer get hand cramps after doing my weekly ironing.

This iron also feature an awesome precision tip that’s great for getting into those tight corners in your shirts, pillow cases, etc. I’m a huge fan of their large 380ml water tank capacity, so there’s no more inconvenience of having to stop your ironing session because you’re out of water! The auto-shut safety feature is also super important and the appliance will automatically turn off if it is left unattended!

All in all, a super high quality, durable and effect iron by Morphy Richards with plenty of features and controls for a perfect iron each and every time! For sure a 5 star product!

Thank you for reading my honest review, I hope you found it helpful! 🙂

My last iron was a Morphy Richards Turbo Steam iron and I must have had it over 10 years, so I was expecting great things from this iron. I wasn’t disappointed. It is quite a large iron, it is taller than my last one and is heavier too. It has an attractive design and colour. It is very easy to use but does come with an instruction book. Included is a water measuring jug, so you know exactly how much water to put in. It is easy to fill, holds a good amount of water and heats up very quickly. The iron has a good amount of cable so it can reach very far. It is longer than my last one. The iron has a great Teflon plate and it easily glides over fabric. There is a temperature dial to determine how hot the iron is depending on the fabric, a steam adjuster and a steam boost to iron out stubborn creases. It also has a self cleaning mode, which I haven’t used yet but is a bonus on my last model. It is quite a heavy iron but I prefer this as it does seem to get the creases out of clothes easier. Overall I am super impressed.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersAt last a good old style heavyweight iron, I’m fed up of these lightweight irons that hardly remove any creases, or you have to use so much water as steam to get rid of them, not with this one though, as it has a nice heavy sole plate.
The iron is ready to use in a super quick 45 seconds, thanks to its high 2800 wattage, saving you time hanging around waiting for it to heat up, like older lightweight irons. The heat dial is easy to read and turns smoothly.
It has an auto shut off and will automatically turn the iron off after 8 minutes of not being used. It will then turn itself back on, when you start using again. So no need to worry if you have to go to the front door or answer the phone.
It comes with a ceramic sole plate, making it easier to keep clean and hopefully no melted clothing staying stuck to it.
The iron comes with a very large and easy to hold water bottle, allowing you to fill up the irons large water tank, to its maximum 380ml capacity, meaning you don’t need to refill that often while you’re ironing, again saving you time. It also has an easy to read water level on the clear window, that tells you how much steam time is left in minutes, so you always know when and if you need to top-up, depending on how much ironing you have left, so you don’t refill needlessly.
It comes with a variable steam switch on top and in front of the handle and a steam boost in the shape of a trigger under the handle, so much easier than pushing a button on top. It also comes with a spray button on top of the handle, to spray water ahead of the iron for help removing stubborn creases.
It has a self clean button that you press whilst over a sink or bucket and allows the iron to clean itself with steam, it basically just dumps all the left over water as steam, removing any limescale that has built up. We use deionised water, or water kept from our tumble dryer and dehumidifiers, this reduces the amount of limescale build up.
It comes with an epic 3m long cable, with a robust nylon braiding covering it, so if you have an extra large ironing board, that’s some distance from a wall socket, there’s no need to run an extension now across the carpet, meaning no trip hazard for other people in the house. The iron reaches every part of our board now.
The instruction manual is concise and explains every part of the iron and how to use it clearly.
We’re really happy with this iron, it glides effortlessly over a blanket of steam, and I’m happy to recommend.

In our main laundry room we have a proper steam generator iron however we keep an ironing board downstairs in the utility room for when you just quickly want to take wrinkles out of the shirts et cetera before work and this was chosen to replace our previous simple iron. Basically I noticed when I use this was that not only did he get a temperature quickly but the pressure of the stain seem pretty impressive as compared to a proper steam generator iron with a separate base I always felt our downstairs and didn’t have much to it but this doesn’t appear far off it in performance. The sole plate itself has a special Teflon style finish that will reduce sticking and burning and the easy-to-use temperature gauge can ensure that you won’t burn your clothes by accident. In terms of value it feels well made and solid yet for less than 50 I don’t think you could complain at all.

The turbo steam gets through the toughest of creases and has a large reservoir to hold water. The cable is long and the temperature control dials are clear and easy to use. The controls are pretty standard but has all the options you need for all your garments. It heats up very quickly and I was able to glide through my ironing because the plate of the iron is well made an non-stick. The steam facility is good with a great extra spray of water if you require it. A great feature is the auto shut off if you don’t use the iron for a few minutes or leave it horizontal. Ironing is quite effortless with this iron, I can do both sides of shirts and even jeans without turning them over. The only niggle I have is that it is sliughtly heavier than I would have liked.

  42. Anonymous says:

This is a lovely iron. The cord is long enough for free movement, and it glides over the fabric beautifully (much better than my admitted very old now ex-iron). It’s heavy enough to do the job of ironing out creases, but not too heavy. The steam really works, and the vertical steam option works so well I nearly dropped the iron when the steam whooshed out. The controls are easy to use, but it does come with an instruction leaflet.

The safety turn-off-if-you-leave-it-8-minutes feature also works. If you leave the iron stood on its end (like you do) for eight minutes, the iron will turn off. However, it will turn itself back on without intervention from you if you start using it again. So if you go off to answer the phone or something, you don’t need to worry about using up electricity – and when you get back, just start ironing and the iron will heat up again.

Plus it looks very smart with its black-and-purple colour scheme!

    Recommended. 🙂

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersEven though my current iron was a Morphy Richards, it was a cheaper, more basic model which didn’t generate much steam. It required you having to iron over something multiple times just to get a crease out. When I saw this one, and got the chance to review it, I thought that it should be much better than my current one… especially considering its name is ‘Turbosteam’. It is more costly than ones I have owned before, but even after one use, it is easy to see why. You are getting the quality you pay for with this iron, and it works very well. It is heavier than ones I am used to, but I soon familiarised myself with it. It is straightforward to use, and a simple dial controls the temperature of the plate. True to its name, it also generates a lot of steam, and irons out wrinkles in seconds. There’s no need for repeated back and forth motions, as this does its job very well. There is also an automatic shut off function on this iron, which works superbly, and turns off after a short period of not being used. This iron not only works brilliantly, it also look fantastic. The build quality and design make it feel very premium, and I had I paid for it, I would be very happy with the price tag. It is more than worth its money. If you are looking for a top quality iron that banishes creases in seconds and generates lots of steam, then you can’t go wrong with this one. I highly recommend it. 5*
