    Love this soup make
Big enough base to make the saute function worthwhile. You do have to take the lid off to stir ingredients to ensure they don’t stick or burn. Obvs, you still have to chop everything up and clean afterwards, but making soup is quick, effortless and easy, and the soups tasty, filling and nutritious. It can make 2-4 portions. Really glad I bought it and would recommend. I love using it – can’t really explain why!

Reliable, Does everything, easy to clea
Bought a second one of these after having the first for years. It has worked hard making gallons of soups each year from home grown veg. The original is still going strong and i gave it to a friend who loves it. I chose this one again as it has been reliable, the non stick is very good, it will saute and makes soups with little effort and no other pans. After a few years the original has one small spot on the bottom where the non stick has worn down a little in one small area, and a small amount burns on this spot. This happened as in saute it gets very hot and you should lift the lid and stir the contents every couple of minutes, i left it too long a few times. Stirring is not a problem as the saute function cooks quickly and when you put the lid back on it remembers where it is up to.There is no need to lift the lid to stir once it is on soup making function. The pot can be removed for very easy cleaning. During harvest season my soup maker has made 4 or 5 batches every day for 2 months and regular use through the year and has never had any other problem. With this new one i will just ensure i stir regularly during saute to maintain the non stick.

    Amazing
Absolutely the best thing I’ve purchased in ages! It can make really thick soup in 20 mins and ultra smooth. I did a curried sweet potato and carrot soup and can’t believe how smooth it was in such a short time! When it blends for the first time its rather noisy and was worried it would fall over but it didn’t so used to that now. Every soup I’ve made its perfect every time and have now found recipes on line to make mac and cheese in it!

    Should have bought one earlier!
We love soup but have hesitated before buying a soup maker. This is a chunky little beast but looks minute next to some of the giants that have the jug on top but only make the same amount of soup. I have only used recipes from the manual so far and they have all worked really well. I chop the potatoes/carrots etc very small to ensure that they are soft and have given some soups an extra blast of the blend setting to make them very smooth. Saut setting is excellent. Loads of soup maker recipes on the internet so a winter of experiments ahead. Best in show!

    Dreadful
Dreadful, does not cook the vegetables enough. So when you come to eat, even if you do smooth, it’s a almost raw taste and fibrous. I went back to using my old soup maker, which made beautiful soup.
As a vegan I make a lot of soup, which I enjoy. This was the worse product I’d ever invested in, and it was a big mistake.
Don’t waste your money. Absolutely dreadful. I

Great product. Well worth the money. Pays for itself if you use it a couple of times a week.
Makes smashing soup very easily. Couple of slight issues, removing the top to stir the top drips liquid onto the work surface and cleaning is a bit of a pain. These minor issues do not, however, detract from tighter quality of the end product.

This is a great supmaker. I purchased this one because it is plastic with an inner stainles steel liner. Although the liner isn’t submersible, it is very easy to clean. I have tried all three options of soup. Smooth, semi chunky and chunky. All work very well. Especially the smooth which is better than boiling in a saucepan and then liquidising. It gives a smoother result. Very happy with my purchase and hope it lasts a long time.

It makes great soup, in a variety of ways. It has a keep warm setting. Regarding cleaning, the one thing I don’t like is the open fixed blade on a long shaft which is attached to the top of the heavyish unit. This I treat with respect. Having said that we are really pleased with this purchase.

    Really well made
I purchased this as I wanted to make my own soups more than anything else.

It started off working really well and I always use the smooth setting on it. I tend to put the ingredients in first & then plug it in. I have to say here that after approximately one month the entire machine went completely dead on me! I’d put all my ingredients in, plugged it in but nothing happened! At first I thought the socket itself might be at fault despite being new & having had electrics rewired across our house. I plugged it in all over the house but it was still completely dead! My fianc changed the fuse for me but it made no difference. I contacted the seller who offered me ways to reset it until they realised that wouldn’t work as I had no power!

At the sellers request I sent it back for a replacement and am very pleased to say the replacement has worked for me absolutely fine. I’ve even made smoothies in it which have also been absolutely fine & rather tasty.

I’m guessing the first one I had must have had a fault as this replacement is absolutely perfect and I would absolutely not hesitate to recommend this to anyone. I really like having the portion control on it; I always make four portions for the two of us and put the rest in the fridge once chilled for another day.

    A gadget I actually use !
Over the years I have bought many gadgets, only to find they were difficult to clean and they ended up at the back of the cupboard. So when my neighbour told me about her soup maker I was a bit sceptical.. However she assured me it was easy to use and clean and she was using hers everyday and even made me a bowl of soup to try – lovely neighbour- so I decided to give it a go. I have not been disappointed. It is about the size of a jug kettle so doesn’t take up much room on the worktop. It is so easy to use and you can have hot soup ready to eat in about 22/25 minutes, depending on the consistency you choose. It comes with recipes in the instruction book but you will soon learn that on fact you can put any combination of chopped vegetables in it with hot stock. It also encourages using up odds and ends of vegetables you might otherwise throw away. I really can’t think of any negative things to say about it.

This soup maker is brilliant in 21 minutes the soup is smooth and ready to eat piping hot. This is great for people who want to throw in the ingredients and have limited time.
Also great for batch making soups very easy to clean you press the red button down and the inside pops out making it very easy to hand wash. I’ve even made soups which were in different recipe books which have turned out fantastic. I highly recommend this item.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBest machine eve
I brought this in late March 2019 but weather turned warm! But from December 2019 until March 2020 I was making soup every week sometimes twice a week. This is a superb machine. I love the way you can saute, yes it does get hot but if you saute on the hob it gets hot. They provide you a small leaflet which has only a few recipes our favourite being Leek and Bacon soup, absolutely delicious. But I did purchase 100 soup Maker recipes and it is for this machine and there is lots to choose from there. I love the way this machine cleans itself absolutely wonderful, if my machine broke I would not hesitate to buy another.

Used less than 6 times for making soups from glut of garden produce. Tried to use this year but would not start. Never use Morphy Richards or related companies again. Item is good idea but quality very poor.

‘Flavour’, above, is primarily dependent on the experience and judgement of the user! Though a novice soup-maker, this machine has produced some wonderful soup, even though conventional recipes have not always been followed. It’s worth reading the accompanying manual quite carefully to understand and properly use the various settings…

The construction of this soup maker is brilliant. The cover fits well, the instructions are easy to follow and the removable inner jug along with the pre-clean function makes cleaning extremely easy. I’ve been very impressed with every batch I’ve made, all using my own recipes. I usually use ingredients and stock up to the 3 portion level and that gives me enough for at least four very generous bowls of delicious soup.

Great bit of kit, love the saute function though you do need to be careful that you don’t burn it but handy that you can take lid off to stir without having to reset. The additional functions do make it more versatile and therefore worth the extra spend. Have recommended these to friends who are not known for kitchen skills and they have enjoyed experimenting with reasonable results!

    Making soup without the drudge
A good gadget to have for saving time in the kitchen. I have made soup for many years but had begun to find the process tedious. Chopping and preparing ingredients, bringing the soup to the boil then simmering; typically the whole process would take a couple of hours.

In many ways a soup maker is just a blender with a heater and programming chip but it does save time. I chose the Morphy Richards partly on manufacturer’s reputation and also because of the range of features, especially the keep warm function.

This soup maker does make good soup. If I’m honest I think my traditional method produces better soup but the difference is not so large as to make me not use this and I think that over time I can adapt the recipes and devise new ones to work in the soup maker. The rating is four stars because it is noisy, awkward to clean and the instruction and recipe booklet could be improved (see below).

The instruction book seems to have been printed for an earlier model but then modified because some things don’t apply to this model. For example the saut function can only be used with the lid on the machine. The instructions suggest otherwise. The recipes are also misleading and can be improved. First ignore the suggested preparation times – these are all too short. Unless you are a top class kitchen knife expert it’s going to take you more than five minutes to peel and chop the vegetables that, for example, go into the tomato and basil soup. I’d estimate typical preparation time is around fifteen to twenty minutes for peeling, chopping and weighing ingredients. After following the recipe for my first batch of tomato soup (apart from using fresh tomato instead of tinned) I decided to cut down on the potato. I think potato is being used as a thickening agent because you can’t make a roux (butter and flour) with the soup maker. If you use the suggested portion of potato the tomato soup tastes more of potato than tomato. My advice would be to adapt the recipes, then experiment with your own.

Overall the soup maker has meant I can make tasty soups in under an hour start to finish. Do use the pre-clean function after making your soup while it doesn’t totally clean the interior it does make the final clean much easier. One tip would be to have a study deep measuring jug next to the soup maker so you can lift off the lid and place it upright in the jug for support. This keeps the vicious chopping blade safe and stops soup dripping on surfaces.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMakes excellent soup
I bought this as it was a Which? best buy. It certainly is! The saute setting enables onions, bacon lardons and other ingredients to be part-cooked, then the rest of the ingredients may be added. The soup cooks in about 20 minutes, dependent upon the portion size, with the result being delicious. So far, the tomato soup recipe is the tastiest, but there are plenty of choices and it means that vegetable off-cuts (eg cauliflower leaves) or left-over vegetables can be used as an ingredient. The big benefit is that all the ingredients are fresh, with no additives, washed unpeeled diced ingredients preserves all the goodness, because the sopu maker doesn’t boli the soup for long. Finally, it is very easy to clean: a quick scrub to remove the remnants, then the auto clean does the rest. Very highly recommended, especially if you are on a diet.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersWorking fine in North Carolina
After waiting in vain for Morphy Richards to bring the soup maker to the US, we took matters into our own hands. By ordering the soup maker from Amazon UK and a toroidal 2000w 110V to 220V step-up converter transformer from Amazon here in US, we put together a configuration that works splendidly.
Was it worth the effort? Absolutely! It exceeded our expectations making tasty simple soups such as potato leek from a recipe and inspired us to branch out and experiment with other ingredients. It’s much easier than using an immersion blender for creamy soup. I love the medium chunk setting for mushroom soup. The saute function is quite useful. Clean up is easy.
The only negative was that we found the instruction booklet a little unclear. But there are plenty of videos on YouTube and a Facebook group that were helpful.
I highly recommend this soup maker, especially for anyone who enjoys soup but wants to control the caloric and sodium content of what they eat.

This has been a great investment, used 2-3 times a week … a tip is not to over fill, I fill my veg to in the middle between 2-3 and then add any herbs , I add stock cubes crumbled in and stock pots I melt in a little hot water them top with water to the top line . I find if you put too much in it doesn’t blend nicely .
