I needed an eight port switch to connect to my Cisco switch and this was not expensive. Getting to grips with the diferent terminology in the management of the Netgear and Cisco was a challenge but it works fine with my VLANs. I haven’t used the PoE yet but hope to in the future.

Ho dovuto acquistarlo d’emergenza perch nel mio ufficio si era rotto il vecchio switch, quindi ho puntato su questo che aveva il giusto numero di porte e 190W di potenza per alimentare 5 AP sparsi nel palazzo. Attualmente non ho riscontrato problemi o cali di tensione sulle antenne, forse il rapporto prezzo/numero porte non il massimo, ma considerando i 190W di potenza mi sento abbastanza sicuro di poter attaccare in futuro se servir altre 2 antenne.
All’interno della confezione avrete il cavo di alimentazione con presa juko e due staffe laterali da montare in caso di assemblaggio su armadietto rack, il resto solo un piccolo manuale e niente pi.
Installazione semplice, almeno nel mio caso, una volta collegato il cavo LAN che porta la connessione, ho collegato gli altri cavi delle antenne (gi pre-configurate) e il gioco fatto.

Good product and great price.
Bought for work and a new telephone system. Our new telephone provider wanted over 200 for this bit of kit so I was pleasantly surprised to see it under half that price here on Amazon. It does what it says on the tin and the POE is very useful enabling us to do away with the power cable for the new telephones. Highly recommend.

Lo switch di ottima qualit, in questo momento alimenta 4 telecamere tutte collegate in POE. Dimensioni molto piccole se raffrontate alle caratteristiche possibile inserirlo in una cassetta di derivazione in modo da tenere tutto nascosto.
L’interfaccia di gestione molto completa, facile da settare e reattiva al punto giusto. presente anche un’applicazione dedicata della Netgear con la quale si possono settare diversi parametri dello switch.
Consiglio assolutamente questo switch in quanto offre il massimo al giusto prezzo.

Dans le cadre d’une installation d’un rseau de camra, je cherchais un switch POE sur tous les ports pas trop cher. Seul Netgear propose ce genre de modle. Aucun dfaut noter, 7 camras tournent dessus H24, aucun dfaut d’alimentation, il ne chauffe peu ou pas. Investissement parfait.

I have bought 2 of the desktop versions of these switches – they are brilliant, you do need to update the firmware. I created a LAG over the fiber ports to link them, and then run 4 VLANs to segregate services, to help me with traffic management and security.

POE Switch für Jederma
Das Gert erfllt seinen Zweck mit Bravur.
Endlich keine Netzteile mehr an meinen Gerten, dank diesem Super POE Switch.
Auch Ohne Vorkenntnisse einfach zu bedienen, und dazu noch schn Handlich.
Costo: 130,9 eur. Installato plug & play ha funzionato perfettamente.
Dopo un aggiornamento fw, ha smesso di funzionare e non capivo perche’.
Mi sono accorto che, aggiornando il fw, ha settato un indirizzo statico (xx,xx,.0.xx) non compatibile con la mia LAN (xx,xx,.1.xx).
Non l’ho capito subito attribuendo i malfunzionamenti a 2 access Point Ubiquiti acquistati assieme.
Dopo aver capito, settandolo in DHCP o con indirizzo statico coerente (es,: 192.168.1.2) con la mia LAN (192.168.1.xx), tutto ha ricominciato a funzionare correttamente.
Anche funzionalita’ POE venno bene: alimenta i 2 Access Point Ubiquiti e 3 IPCAM Leftek posizionate all’esterno della casa.
Ovviamente sono necessari i cablaggi con cavo ethernet.
A parte quella piccola configurazione fatta all’inizio e’ un dispositivo plug & play.
E’ possibile configurarlo piu’ finemente, ma non necessario.

Great set of features for the price.
These switches are extremely stable. I have three of them at home and around 20 odd dotted around my office and some customer sites. Make sure you put the current firmware on and keep them upto date. Netgear devices have had some silly security flaws in the past but the base functionality for the price is pretty close to unbeatable. I have never had to reboot them for any other reason apart from firmware updates.
These eight port PoE + two fibre uplinks (you’ll need SFP+ modules to use them) switches are a great choice for the more advanced home network or office setup. They are ideal for powering IP cameras, phones, wifi access points and other such devices.
They do not have a command line interface which can mean a fair bit of clicking. The web interface only lacks a summary for VLANs. These ones have the full fat interface and feature set that is lacking in the PE devices. They even support LLDP, (R,M)STP, SNMP and a full 802.1Q VLAN setup. These are features you would normally pay a few 100 extra for. They also do a GS108T device which has all the same features bar the SFP slots and PoE and a lower price.
Good value, stable so far. 53w goes further than expected.

Compatto e completo.
Ottimo switch per chi cerca un prodotto compatto ma allo stesso tempo professionale.
Per chi non molto esperto di reti pu risultare poco intuitivo.
Unica pecca che mi sento di segnalare riguarda la temperatura, non essendo provvisto di ventola per il raffreddamento scalda parecchio, consiglio l’istallazione in posti ventilati o non eccessivamente caldi.
Es ideal para sistemas domoticos, ya que permite activar y desactivar el POE de los puertos a traves del interfaz web, o desde linea de comandos (tiene un interfaz al que puedes acceder haciendo telnet al puerto 60000, poniendo el usuario, la contrasea y despues entrando en el modo administrativo con el comando enable (y con la contrasea en blanco)). El funcionamiento de Interfaz de comandos (CLI) es muy parecedo al de los dispositivos Cisco (ver imagen).
Ademas te permite saber el consumo de los dispositivos conectados a los puertos POE (ver imagen, una camara Axis: 3,5w, una Orange Pi Zero: 1.6w, …) y toda la informacion del switch a traves de SNMP v2 o v3…
Otra cosa buena que tiene es que es muy poco profundo, lo cual lo hace ideal para poner en una balda dentro de un armario de 20cm de profundidad (no se fuerzan los conectores rj45 en el frontal como sucede con otros switches mas profundos).
Por 123 no he visto nada mejor…

Pas de surprise. C’est un excelent switch. (Pas encore utilis le POE).

Comme l’indique un des commentaires, ce switch peut poser problme avec les Freebox V6.
Le port auquel elle est rattache passe rgulirement “disable”, je l’ai constat moi aussi.
La cause est la protection contre le dni de service (DoS).
N’en ayant pas spcialement besoin, je l’ai dsactive.
Concernant le switch en lui-mme, je ne suis pas aussi catgorique que certains avis : pour moi le switch chauffe un peu.
J’ai d’ailleurs t oblig de dcaler un des cts (trop prs d’un bord) pour modrer la chauffe.
L’interface d’administration fonctionne assez bien dans l’ensemble mme si je la trouve globalement assez lente (bizarrement moins vrai sous Internet Explorer).
Pour le POE, j’alimente 2 camras 1080P avec LED infrarouges sans aucun problme : c’est du tout bon.
Mon switch tait livr en firmware 5.4.2.22.
La prsence de 2 images permet d’updater le firmware tout en conservant la version prcdente.
Une version 5.4.2.27 est disponible chez Netgear.
Pour les fonctionnalits avances, j’utilise :
– Les VLANs : taggs, non taggs. Contrairement d’autres switches, on peut sortir les ports du VLAN1 et mettre l’administration dans un autre VLAN : a c’est une bonne chose ! Par contre impossible de supprimer les VLAN1 (Default), 2 (Voice VLAN) et 3 (Auto-Video).
– Les LAGs : 2 machines dans 2 LAGs de 2 ports chacun (j’ai essay en LACP (bonding Linux en mode 4) car il est pleinement compatible mais le comportement est meilleur (utilise mieux les 2 cartes) en statique pour ma part (bonding Linux, en mode 0)).
Au niveau performance, entre les 2 LAGs j’obtiens :
– Autour de 940 Mbps en iperf sur un flux unique.
– Autour de 1,85 Gbps en iperf partir de 2 flux.
Il est possible d’ajouter 2 SFPs dans les ports 9 et 10. Pour ma part, j’ai test avec 2 SFPs de marques professionnelles diffrentes et a fonctionne parfaitement.
En rsum,
Les points faibles :
– Pas de changement possible du login utilis pour la connexion : vu les failles rencontres par le pass, c’est dommage (ACL et https possible).
– Chauffe un peu (rien d’alarmant bien sr mais il n’est pas froid).
– Interface web un peu lente.
– La vue “graphique” du switch ncessite Java (et seulement une JVM Oracle, cela ne fonctionne pas avec IcedTea par ex).
– Problme possible si Freebox V6 connecte derrire (dsactiver DoS).
– Peut-tre un peu cher quand mme.
Les points positifs :
– Interface web embarque et logiciel en complment si besoin.
– Deux firmwares indpendants.
– Beaucoup d’options “avances”, peut-tre mme trop (QoS, VLAN, LAG, LLDP…).

Works a treat; coming from a world of unmanaged switches I wanted to segregate my home network so that certain devices (consoles, YouView boxes and the like) could be on one segment hanging directly off the BT Home hub, whilst PCs, NAS and others sat nicely behind a firewall. Some research on VLAN segmentation did the trick, and now I can mix and match devices to be inside or outside the firewall depending on whether they have stuff worth protecting. It also means I don’t have to constantly mess with firewall settings for getting xBox or Premium TV channels to work properly.
I chose this above some other Netgear web managed models because:
a) It uses the same management software as bigger brothers such as the GS724T so I can see everything from one view.
b) It has POE build into all the Ethernet ports in case I need it.
c) The Fibre SFP sockets mean that I can link multiple switches without using an Ethernet port if I want to.
It’s quiet, switches data fast and works well, as long as you do your research first about VLANS and Trunking and design your network. The management interface isn’t very fast, but after initial setup you only need to tweak stuff here and there.
Very pleased with what you get for around the 100 mark, or less on a lightning deal.

Worauf man bei dem Gewirr der Technischen Daten schauen sollte ist z.B., dass er nur die kleine Variante PoE beherrscht (af mit ca. 15 Watt pro Port) und dass er je nachdem wo man nun sucht als Layer3 Switch beworben wird. Wer Layer3 bentigt, dem sei geraten genauer in die Daten zu schauen. Er bietet IP- und Vlan Routing, was zu L3 Funktionalitten gezhlt wird. Hherpreisige Gerte bieten da allerdings deutlich mehr untersttzte Standards. Wer nur einen reinen Switch bentigt, kommt woanders gnstiger weg. Fr kleine Broumgebungen, wo man mit IP- und Vlan Routing zurecht kommt, hat er aber guten Preis-/Leistungsverhltnis.

Great for a home/small office environment. I have used Netgear and Cisco switches in SME for the past 15 years and have just installed these in my home office. They are a great little switch, very fast and the POE is ideal if you have AP’s and phones that need it.

L’apparato si presenta subito con un look di livello semi-professionale. Estetica curata, robustezza maccanica, essenzialit, ma presenza di tutto ci che serve anche a livello di indicatori luminosi. La velocit va bene. Ottimo il funzionamento del POE. Molto bene anche l’interfaccia di gestione e monitoraggio remoto. Fantastica ad esempio la possibilit di disabilitare il servizio poe sulla singola porta. Infatti le porte che vengono usate solo per trasporto dati e non devono dare alimentazione elettrica a nulla (per esempio sono connesse a cablaggi che devono passare in esterno, in punti critici o soggetti a eventuali sollecitazioni meccanici o rotture fisiche) si possono settare senza servizio poe e cos si evitano guasti elettrici per eventuali cortocircuiti. Infine, fare un acquisto che non preclude un eventuale futuro upgrade sempre molto gradevole (mi riferisco alle due porte per i GBIC fibra).

Quite good value, quiet, does not get ho
Really good value, configurable with mirroring etc, and small and capable, and does not get too hot, and is quiet, and even two SFP slots. Ideally it would have had a command line interface too: several even cheaper ADSL/cable routers/gateways do. I have used it to replace a much bigger and louder rack-style D-Link DGS-1216T, which also had a buggy web interface, but was OK.

Questo il terzo che prendo. Decisamente affidabile. Scalda un po’ quando collegato a 7 webcam poe, ma comprensibile. La gestione del software facile e abbastanza intuitiva. Nel complesso tutto ok. Imballo e tempi di consegna perfetti.

Se state guardando questo switch probabilmente avete qualche competenza di reti e quindi potete saltare la prima parte di questa recensione.
Questo switch presenta alcune caratteristiche in genere presenti solo su dispositivi pi costosi:
* Permette di alimentare altri dispositivi usando gli stessi cavi della rete (PoE), come l’access point HP che vedete nella fotografia qua sotto. Ovviamente tali dispositivi devono essere compatibili con lo standard IEEE 802.3af (non lo sono per esempio molti access point economici o videocamere “cosiddetti” PoE, ma che in realt richiedono tipicamente alimentazione a 24 V su linee a 100 Mbit/s). L’attivazione PoE automatica, se serve, ed presente su tutte le otto porte
* E’ uno switch amministrabile, cio possibile programmarne il funzionamento attivando per esempio le VLAN, l’aggregazione di link, alcuni meccanismi di protezione L2. Se non fate nulla, funziona come switch “normale”. Questa programmazione viene fatta via WEB, ma non una cosa alla portata di tutti
* Ha due slot per inserire moduli SFP per le fibre ottiche, da comprare a parte (questa caratteristica non l’ho ancora testate: a casa non ho una rete in fibra)
Se non avete capito molto di quello che ho scritto, probabilmente questo switch NON fa per voi, meglio pensare a switch unmanaged, meno costosi e avidi di energia. L’unica eccezione potrebbe essere l’esigenza del PoE, ma verificate prima la compatibilit dei vostri apparati.
Da tempo uso switch Netgear, ne apprezzo quindi la struttura generale, la “robustezza” elettrica e meccanica rispetto ad altre marche, il costo ragionevole, l’aggiornamento del firmware garantito anche a distanza di anni. Questo non mi sembra faccia eccezione, anche se lo sto usando solo da un paio di pomeriggi.
Ci sono alcuni difetti che lo rendono poco adatto per l’inserimento in una rete complessa:
* L’interfaccia solo WEB, nel tipico stile Netgear; mi piacerebbe una bella shell Cisco-like. Tra l’altro usato con un browser non particolarmente reattivo (e l’up-load del firmware , al solito, di una lentezza imbarazzante…)
* Non possibile il montaggio rack; una cosa che non riesco a spiegarmi visto che ha poco senso un simile oggetto abbandonato su un tavolo.
* L’alimentatore esterno (bello grosso, visto che deve alimentare ben 8 dispositivi PoE) un’altra scelta che non condivido.

E’ di tipo Managed con PoE, quindi si possono configurare VLAN, link aggregation su pi porte, port based authentication, QoS, port mirroring, DHCP filtering, etc…
Difficile trovare carenze in effetti, la qualit davvero ottima.
La web interface mostra moltissimi parametri, ad esempio nella parte PoE si pu fare la lettura della tensione e della corrente erogata su ciascuna porta che sta erogando alimentazione.
Supporta i vari standard IEEE 802.x previsti per le funzionalit che offre, quindi lo switch interoperabile con altri, di altre marche, purch supportino anch’essi gli standard IEEE.
Supporta SNMP e LLDP.
Ne ho presi gi 3, l’ultimo lo tengo per fare test e riparazioni, quando serve portare uno switch che funziona oltre ogni ragionevole dubbio e che grazie alle diagnostiche su ciascuna porta aiuta nello scovare problemi nella rete.

J’ai achet trois de ces switch, ils fonctionnent parfaitement une fois compris la nomenclature Netgear.
Concrtement, ils m’ont permis d’tablie des liens LACP 2GB avec mon coeur de rseau DLINK, et de faire passer plusieurs vlan taggs travers ces trunks, rpartis ensuite dans des vlan non taggs dans le switch. Cela m’a permi d’tablir des centres de connectique complet (2 WIFIS, 2 LAN et 1 VOIP) un prix raisonnable.

Out of the box this device is good and sturdy, the solid feel of the metal very reassuring.
Basic configuration was also pretty straight forward, the setup CD guides you through getting the device ready to be used in your network. I didn’t use the fiber uplinks option, just a copper connection from my existing router.
PoE worked out of the box, no need to configure anything to run 3 x netgear WLAN APs.
Setting up the VLANs to create 2 separate networks proved a little tricky, but this was more to do with the less than amazing interface than a lack of functionality. Netgear support online was also very useful.
The fans do generate a bit of noise, i.e., you couldn’t leave this switch out beside your television. Mine is tucked away in a television corner unit, and the noise is barely audible. It’s been running now for 2 months without any hassle whatsoever.

So lets start with the initial setup, its ready from the word go, plug it in and turn it on, it will act as switch and route traffic as you’d expect, obviously you wont be buying this kit if you didn’t intend on using the full set of features.
Initial configuration of the switch is easily done via the installation software, which is used to set the IP address of the Switch and then perform basic config before being directed to the Web Interface…I wont lie by saying this interface is great, its not, but it does the job in a clunky way.
Once you’re logged into the switch, the vast number of options and settings is quite amazing! The switch even has green energy saving options built in…should you wish to use them. I will note that I did occasionally have issue with the web page freezing…
There’s a nice graphical view of the switch to enable you to see what ports are in use, handy if you want to lock down any ports, you don’t need to be near the switch to see.
POE works a treat, it handled several Wireless POE enabled access points with ease, Advanced options give you the ability to control power output and even when it delivers power to the devices, so you can shut off these devices using the switch, all works nicely and no problems here.
SNMP options, never used them and can’t say much but supports many options to configure it.
VLAN config, works a treat (mostly) and enables the segregation of data sharing the same physical switch, my only gripe with the setup is that it reserves VLAN ID’s 2&3 for its own purposes (Audio and Video LANS) which meant I had to change my existing VLAN config…I’m not sure if this reservation is specific to this switch or universal…changed it either way.
Security…Loads of options here, from port control to MAC lockdown and RADIUS, you can securely manage access through this switch.
Monitoring…Quite detailed information, easy to understand and has helped in identifying problems within my network!
QoS – Off by default but once enabled and configured, it works nicely. I did however turn it off on this switch as I had other equipment controlling this at the Internet Gateway.
So overall, the device has worked well, I’ve had it working for nearly 6 months now, I have had a few odd issues where the switch has rebooted by itself for no reason, I knew this because all of the APs went offline too, that’s happened about two times now but there appears to be no patten. Its possible a firmware update could resolve this issue and one is available at the time of writing, so you may wish to update to this before working with it in a live environment.
Price wise, if I was paying for this switch, I think overall I’d be happy, more so once it was configured as I didn’t like the interface that much…but I would buy it myself…

Ce switch correspond exactement mes attentes. C’est un des rares switch 10/100/1000 dont la totalit des ports est PoE ce qui permet d’alimenter 7 camras PoE par exemple. Il faut bien sr tenir compte de la puissance totale disponible.

davvero un ottimo prodotto, lo si pu definire effettivamente Profesisonale, con la sua carcassa rigida, ottime finiture, il poe funziona su buon raggio e non da problemi, io lo utilizzo per la video sorveglianza e ne sono molto soddisfatto. si presenta molto bene con accessori e finiture di ottimo livello, decisamente uno scalino in pi rispetto a prodotti pi economici.
davvero un ottimo prodotto, lo si pu definire effettivamente Profesisonale, con la sua carcassa rigida, ottime finiture, il poe funziona su buon raggio e non da problemi, io lo utilizzo per la video sorveglianza e ne sono molto soddisfatto. si presenta molto bene con accessori e finiture di ottimo livello, decisamente uno scalino in pi rispetto a prodotti pi economici.

Avec ce switch, mon cble internet RJ45 alimente les postes de tlphone.
