i really like the magnetic locking system so the camera can be removed without unplugging. it snaps back into place very easily.

Camera is great but wish I’d bought at Halfords and included the installation option. To instal it with hidden cables you need to buy the installation kit and then watch installation videos. Luckily my husband is great at techie stuff and he has successfully installed the camera but he did have to watch videos several times. I doubt I would have been able to instal it myself.

Appears to work well, although I haven’t got the Alexa feature to work. I’m sure it can be done when I can be bothered. I purchased the hard-wire kit after a couple of weeks. That made a nice tidy finish and wasn’t too difficult to fit.

Straightforward to set up and constant recording seems no problem, without formatting issues of the SD card that some have mentioned.I haven’t had to use any footage (thankfully), so can’t really comment on clarity etc, but it is a good sharp image on the screen of the unit, although it seems quite to make objects look farther away than they actually are.

A good spec dashcam for daily use
I’ve had other brands of dashcam but my two recent upgrades have been Nextbase dashcams and so far Nextbase is my favourite brand. I prefer to hardwire in the dashcams so installation is a little slower than just plugging into the cigarette socket. Dashcam footage is acceptable given the size of the image sensor. Don’t expect ultra clear and sharp images at speed or in poor light. Overall dashcams are useful to have in the event of an accident or a claim.

After many years using nextbase cameras 122 in my car 212 in my truck I decided to upgrade to a 422gw for the car mainly for adding a rear view camera. I never had a problem with the old previous dashcams apart from the video quality not being that great. I was a little bit disappointed when viewing footage from the 422, the quality wasn’t that much better. I tried three different sd cards before decided which one I thought was reasonable. The other problem is the magnit that holds the camera to the mount is far to strong unlike the others that are very easy to remove. I suppose It cuts down on space so you can get it higher on the screen but you keep putting it out of alignment when taking it off could annoy some people.. the best bit is the rear view camera the quality is very good. you get the same view as if your lookin in the mirror very pleased with that. If your thinking of getting a rear view camera make sure its the rear view not the cabin view unless that’s what you need. The other gizmos rearly depends on if you need them like the s.o.s function. most cars nowadays have it installed when you set your phone to the car.
Exceptional picture quality. My Bluetooth connection is poor on start up, but ultimately connects to view live image after around a minute (iPhone 11 Pro Max). I wish that the cigarette lighter 12v connector had an available USB port since it now takes my only 12v source.

Great Dash Cam
I bought this camera to replace my old next base camera as there was some issue with the recordings. This is great, has a lot of features I probably will never use but it is tidy, stays stuck and the video quality is great. Only negavtive is that there is no USB fitting only a direct plug for the car outlet so, if you have an adaptor for USBs to power two things at once you can no longer use it unfortunately! Overall, the dash cam is great and their app is brilliant to easily access videos. I would always buy nextbase!

But these are small issues and I get around it by putting the card into my laptop if I want to download any footage, and formatting the card before putting it back in the camera to delete the few videos of doors closing.
Not disappointed. And would recommend this camera to a friend.

I bought the 422GW and rear cam to replace the 512GW and rear cam. You get what you pay for as they say as there are cheaper versions out there. Big improvements on removing the front and rear cameras from their screen holds with magnetic helping especially as the rear camera can now be cleanly removed. The magnetic attachment is so strong that I find it difficult to remove the camera from the mounting.
UV filter, which I had to buy, cuts out a lot of glare which improves an already good picture quality.

You need to make sure to get a micro SD card at least UHS class 3 (U3) or higher. I got a 64gb Sandisk Extreme Pro. A 64gb card will store around 8hrs of footage and will over wright the oldest footage.

I brought this for my wife’s Vitara and nextbase have such a good reputation there wasn’t any make I would consider.plus it is compatible with Alexi and has Bluetooth and was very reasonable priced.

We love this camera. It’s the first we have tried we looked at which to research dash cams and this was given a which Best Buy.
We are so happy with this camera and would recommend it.
Very clear recordings
Initially a problem with it not charging using the car adapter, but eventually sorted by ensuring plug was firmly into the camera port!

Very good dashcam. Excellent pictures, built in telemetry on play back, all the good techy things. Only gripe is that the app is not very intuitive or smooth to use, and you have to ‘join’ the WiFi network every time rather than automatically joining (like my phone does with every router I use). Good safeguarding. Does what it’s supposed to. Maybe the App will get an update…

This is my second Nextbase dashcam, I only changed it because I had already purchased the rear camera and it did not fit my other model. Price is good, picture quality is good, the app that you can use with the camera is sometimes hit or miss, maybe down to Bluetooth connection. I would recommend this model to anyone wanting to invest in a Dashcam

I did not to a detailed ,systematic analysis of the camera specs vs other dash cams. I also just viewed a few videos that were taken during daylight drives. But the videos looked good Road casual users like me. I like the GPS functionality that shows the speed continuously during the drive. And you can switch to a map view and see exactly we’re you were and your speed at any point

This camera is very nice quality. The mounting bracket is magnetic and works very well, it holds the camera very firmly and is so much better than the cheap thin plastic swivel mounts I’ve had on previous dash cams. The instructions for fitting were clear and they even supply a trim lever tool to help you to hide the cables behind trims when fitting which I found very useful.
The rear window camera is very compact and is also on a magntic mount which works very well. The quality of the recorded footage is very good and clear, and this dash cam has added features such as wifi,Bluetooth,gps, emergency services S.O.S. alert parking mode plus others. One feature this camera has is Alexa compatability, although after trying to set it up for a while, I found this feature has not been executed very well and as many other reviews state is a bit of a waste of time, as I just couldn’t get it to work properly.
Other than the Alexa problem, this camera meets all my dash cam needs. I purchased a hard wire kit separately and it is connected direct to my car’s fuse box so I don’t have to have a cable plugged into my lighter socket.
I would recommend Nextbase dash cams as they have plenty of useable features, are very well made and are reasonably easy to install. Price wise they are more expensive than other less well known makes but the quality of the camera and accessories justify spending that bit more for a well made set up. It is far superior to the Toguardset up I had before.
Qualit camera
I have had a couple of cheap cameras in the past which all fail eventually. Decided on this one because of the name and also because it was easy to dismount when parking or leaving in the hot sun (which was the cause of the last camera to fail).
Easy to mount with the suction cup or the adhesive pad, depends on t=your requrements.
The app needs work though, it works but is not presented well, far too fussy and should have a menu rather then cramming everything on one screen.

Managed to site on screen so that the rear view camera sits between the sun visor and mirror and sees between the seat headreasts, whilst the main camera is behind the visor when down.

Acquistato il prodotto, provato ma non installato. Ottima qualit percepita, funzionamento corretto. Macchinoso l’accoppiamento in quanto con Android 9 e certi smartphone occorre ripetere la procedura pi volte, ma devo dire che l’assistenza stata rapida e utile ed alla fine ho risolto qualche problema iniziale. La quinta stella non appena l’avr provata su strada….

ich habe die dashcam seit einiger zeit im einsatz und bin sehr zufrieden.
man sollte darauf achten, da die linse immer sauber ist, sonst knnen natrlich lichtreflexe entstehen, die eine z.b. erkennung von kennzeichen erschwert. das aber trifft auf jede optik zu.
die befestigung ist entweder mit klebepad oder mit saugfu mglich. ich habe mich fr den saugfu entschieden und der hlt perfekt. die kamera selbst lt sich ber ein magnetsystem sehr leicht abnehmen und aufsetzen. das allein schon ist einfach genial.
die aufnahmen sind bezglich der belichtung etwas hochgezogen und auch die farben sind sehr intensiv. nachts kann diese lichtempfindlichkeit zu berblendungen bei gegenverkehr fhren, vor allem wenn es dann auch noch regnerisch ist.
insgesamt wrde ich die dashcam auf jeden fall wieder kaufen und bin top zufrieden.
ein manko fr die deutsche rechtslage knnte sein, da mehrere filme auf der karte gespeichert werden, auch wenn keine auslsung durch sensor bzw. manuell stattgefunden hat.

Finally had one of these fitted to the wife’s car, very impressed with the image quality. I’ve been thinking about getting one of these for my work vehicle, but thought the wife’s car would be better suited, looked at the various units and purchased this one. Then I bought the 312GW for mine, the difference in screen quality is amazing. The 422 is a better model by miles. Don’t scrimp, buy a decent one.

Although the camera is small, don’t be deceived from what it can do. It records really well, and the image captured is very clear.
With the added feature of the Nextbase Player App, I can manage the webcam’s settings with ease. Viewing the videos do get a little fiddly, as it reconnects to WiFi, rather than the more conventional, though slower, Bluetooth connection.
All in all, it’s a huge recommendation to get this Dashcam.

I’m pretty useless with technology but this was easy to set-up, install and operate and seems to work fine (for the few weeks I’ve had it). The advice that it requires a data card is not very prominent in the text and although that might be obvious to people with more experience, to me it was annoying not to make it clear at the time of purchase.
Works well but the Alexa thing not so much. I need to tinker more. The vid files are huge and download took a long time but that's ok. Even 1440p I wish I had more pixels. Can't complain, my only dashcam but works!

Excellent all rounder.
Very easy to install. Just plug and go. Picture quality excellent…Only down side is the 64mb sd card only lasts 4 hours when using both front and back cameras together. So on a long journey it starts to over write start of journey.
Nachdem ich zuvor eine andere Dashcam im Einsatz hatte und mit der Bildwiedergabe gar nicht zufrieden war muss ich bei dieser Camera sagen das ich begeistert bin. Fr mich ist es vllig ausreichend was die Nachtaufnahmen betrifft. Viele wollen ja auch in der Dunkelheit Kennzeichen sehen leider schafft es diese Dashcam nicht. Die Dashcam bietet ein feature wo man den Bildschirm gegen eine Darstellung der Geschwindigkeit anzeigen lassen kann. Ich kann die Camera empfehlen.

Wir haben nach lngerer Recherche die Nextbase 422GW als Geschenk gewhlt. Nach Tagelangen Versuchen (und das ist nicht negativ gemeint) lernt man die Kamera mit ihren vielfltigen Funktionen immer besser kennen.
Inzwischen wurde Kamera an direkt an das Stromnetz des PKW angeschlossen. Jetzt nimmt man den kleinen Videorecorder kaum noch war.
Einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt. Die Kamera hat/hatte Schwierigkeiten sich mit dem iPhone zu verbinden.

Early days yet, bought for my son for Christmas, has all the features and quality on paper, time will tell whether it lives up to its brand name. Delivery time was next day, packaging was good. Installing it tomorrow might get the 522 and rear cam for myself if i like it.

The camera is very easy to set up by following the included quick set-up guide. The video and image quality is excellent and having Alexa integrated makes it even easier to use. The size is small and unobtrusive on my windshield so it does not create any visibility issues. I will likely purchase the rear facing camera in the near future. I highly recommend the Nextbase 422GW to anyone considering purchasing a dashcam.

This Nextbase Dash Cam has been a great addition to my vehicle. It was very easy to install with lots of attention to detail. It was easy to pair with my phone and it has been great using the Alexa integration. Be sure to check with your insurance company as more and more of them are offering discounts for having dash cams installed in your vehicle.
I would highly recommend this camera due to the features & ease of use. I just purchased another one for my wife and will definitely be adding these to more vehicles as my kids start driving! If you are considering another brand/model be sure to compare specs & reviews as other cheaper brands will most likely lack on the quality of video and ease of use / pairing w/ your phone.

I have owned many cheapo dash cams over the last 3 years, thinking all of them were the same but I can assure you this is not the case – this dash cam has shocked me with its clear images day and night. The SOS feature and bluetooth are features I have never seen before, and mean the product is easy to use and could save my life. Note bad for just over a hundred quid! I can see why Next Base are regarded as the best.

Easy to install. Easy to use. Pairing with Alexa was a bit of a challenge, but got it to work.
Good picture quality
Good picture quality but I had some trouble connecting to the phone app to start with. I reset and reinstalled everything and now it works fine. Not too sure about the Alexa function yet, I need to spend a bit of time faffing with it, it seems a bit hit and miss at the moment. Check out some youtube videos on how to set it up.

Small and compact size doesn’t get in the way when driving.
Device (Nextbase 422GW) perennially indicates that it needs to be charged, even after being charged and left on its own for a few hours – with zero activity. The High Street motor accessory installers (who hard-wire install this device to your vehicle) say that apparently this is normal and don’t want to know! So, if you are okay with a device that indicates that it always needs charging then Go For It! Otherwise Buyer Beware!
Update 17/7/2020 Problem finally resolved after manufacturer NextBase intervention; after model upgrade (to 522GW) and camera replacements, the cable run seemed to be the fleeting culprit. Fingers crossed – device seems to be working excellently. Hence the upgrade to 4 stars. Thanks also to Amazon!
I have not had the camera very long but I had occasion to refer back to an incident and was very impressed with the quality of the picture. First class.
Must have addition for peace of mind
Having a dash cam is essential in todays driving scene. Careless driving is causing more accidents and having reliable evidence when claiming compensation is now necessary. It is unobtrusive and takes up very little room on the windscreen. The video screen is a decent size and there is a snapshot of the rearview camera on the screen, or you can just have the rear view camera if you require.
The only issue I have with this camera is that it tells me the battery is about to run even after I have done a long run. I am not sure whether this is the Nextbase camera or an installation fault, but I will endeavour to find out.
Alexa is useless
Not a bad set up overall.
Shame it doesn’t come with a usb plug instead of cigarette lighter socket on the long lead . Initially it kept turning off and on but I think this was due to me buying a non manufacturer’s longer lead with USB connector to power the camera.
Alexa very rarely connects to phone so save yourself a fiver and get the next model down.
The hardwire kit was easy to install and looks tidy and the suction mount also works a treat.
Haven’t actually viewed any footage on p.c. yet so can comment on video quality .
All in all looks tidy when installed properly and it just sits there on its own doing its business out of site.

Great Dashcam
Great but of kit. Nothing else required to do an easy installation. Great quality product. Transfer to iPad or phone very easy. Only issue I had was setting up the SOS facility. Otherwise well deserved 5 stars

Fissaggio a parabrezza molto semplice e tiene conto delle diverse auto: se spostata da un lato (io vi consiglio il sinistro) anziche da un altro non cambia di molto. Arrivata con un giorno di anticipo. Signori, su questa roba bisogna spenderci, altrimenti…
Francamente non comprendo perch la 522 viene venduta al doppio e l’unica differenza il filtro di polarizzazione che costa 20 euro e il display da 3 pollici anziche 2.5, ma il display serve solo a posizionare correttamente la telecamera e navigare sul men. Lasciate perdere la fuffa!
This is a preliminary review. I received the camera yesterday along with the hardwire kit and rear facing cabin addon. Relatively easy to set up the camera, a lot more difficult to integrate with the Nextbase Android App and I have not been able to get camera’s Alexa integration to work as the Alexa app doesn’t find the camera so I can’t even start the set up.
Picture quality at 1440 and 30 FPS is decent and the camera turns on an off with the car(I am using the power port connector for now). Seems to be securely mounted to the windshield with the suction cup. I downloaded the Nextbase player and viewed a view taken on my initial drive. Rock steady despite my Jeep Wrangler bouncing around the “paved” roads in Boise! With the Player, you see a multipane window showing the video, speed, direction and a Google Map with the route overlayed. Nice I thought.
So far seems ok for the real purpose, recording the idiots around me as I drive. As to Alexa, don’t buy it to put it in your car; do the Echo Auto instead. Maybe if Amazon/Nextbase get together and release a Nextbase Dash Cam skill Alexa might work better but right now its just ‘vaporware”.

Software setup was easy, car wiring was not easy but use of cable wraps and Velcro helped. Just started using so haven’t tried to review resulting vids. The most important function is capture of a test result and setup for sending to police. You must do this procedure! Not Don’t ignore to test it! This is only a preliminary review but so far I like the product I also just ordered the anti glare lens cap, too much sun glare!!

I have been using this camera for a few days now. Luckily no accidents, the footage is good and the night vision works well.
I installed the mount using the sticky pad on the windscreen just behind the mirror. I’ll add to this more comprehensively once I have used for longer.

Bought this as peace of mind before a long European Trip. It worked well except for the suction mount (nearly got launched out of the eurostar). The sticky pad installation was far more suitable and it’s inconspicuous behind the rear view mirror.
Hopefully I’ll never have cause to use it in anger, but it seems good so far. Check the memory card requirements as it’s quite selective. It also only appears to pair with a single phone at a time which is a little annoying but liveable.
Will try and update once I’ve used it a little more.
