Bought this vaccum instead of the dyson due to the pricepoint. Initially my wife was disappointed because she really wanted a Dyson so we ended up buying a Dyson V7 anyway.
Well, after a year of use, I will confidently say that I like this vaccum way better than the dyson. The dual cleaning base seems to pick up dirt more thoroughly. Also like the wealth of accessories and the ease of swapping out between them. The flashlight is also an underrated feature as it really exposes certain areas.
The only annoying thing is the cord vs the cordless, but it’s a tradeoff I’m personally willing to take with all the other pluses this vaccum offers.
Would definitely recommend this vac! Does way better than most stick vacuums! Easy maintenance and great features!

Suction and all the functions including carpets cleaning are awesome. Cleaning the tank might be tricky if you want it like brand-new but overall it is a very good vacuum. Except for the noise level - everybody else in the house have to go out for cleaning time to save their ears. Rocket indeed.

I've had this forever now and it's held up great. I love all the attachments, easy to click and remove parts. I broke the little brush that's supposed to remove all the hair that tangles up in the head but scissors work better. When you put it on speed 2 for rugs and carpet it really digs its teeth in ;)

Good value for the money. Suction power is good and it’s easy to clean. Motor is very very loud and the design makes it top-heavy so a bit cumbersome for any length of use.

I have had this vacuum for about a month now and have used it about 12 times. It has incredible suction and the duo clean action works amazing for dog hair on tile and laminate flooring. Compared to a dyson, if you can deal with the cord then save yourself some cash and go with this. The performance is on par with the v10. My only gripe is the accessory holder is cheep and falls off/slides around.

You barely have to push this vacuum it's that strong. This is my 5th Shark vacuum purchase and each model is better than the last. Thank you for that. This duo clean makes vacuuming carpet and hardwood a breeze.

Does an awesome job with a lot of suction for a stick vacuum. Love how the head maneuvers around things and gets right into the baseboard corners under your cabinets. Only gave it a four as the little tool for cleaning the head when it gets clogged with cat and dog hair, was missing. It is a great vacuum otherwise.

This vaccum is by far the best I've ever used. It sucks up giant chunks of food and is so powerful my husband's socks have even gotten stuck inside before. But not to worry the entire thing comes apart for easy cleaning. I've had it for 2 years now and it still works like a charm. I recommend this vaccum everytime someone asks what they should get. It's my first stick vacuum, and I absolutely love it. We have a golden retriever so it's a challenge to get the hair off the carpets. Otherwise, I'm very pleased. It opens incredibly easily for emptying, and that's a huge bonus!

I wanted a Dyson since everyone in my family has a Dyson. But then I read multiple posts and feedback on their Canadian customer service, and the price comparison too. After which I decided to give this guy a shot. Got him on Black Friday sale (Coming up soon) and I would never trade this absolutely excellent, very well-thought out machine for anything. The cleaning lady says it’s her favorite among all the homes she works in, and is going to buy one herself this Black Friday.
Only con is that it can’t stand upright on it’s own because of the weight – but hey – if that’s the worst thing I can say about it then – IT HAS TO BE THE MOST PERFECT MACHINE EVER.
We got a pet later and being able to use scissors in the carpet rollers is such a perfect touch!

It's been over a year and it is working great. It's the best one we have purchased so far. We previously had the Bissell pet hoover and that was OK, this is much better. Can't compare to the Dyson since we've never owned one. I like how we can wash the filters and the canister. They did put thought into this vacuum. It is pretty powerful, great suction. We have thick carpet, rugs, vinyl and 2 furry cats. It is amazing how much dirt, fur, cat toys, and dust it collects. Able between chair legs, under the bed, the sofa. the extensions are good too and ability to make it shorter works great for sofa and cat towers. Overall it's a great purchase. Can be a bit noisy but don't mind since it works great. Cable is long enough to reach everywhere. The lights are useful to see under the bed etc.

This is a very handy vacuum in my office. The suction power and maneuverability are excellent and it comes with a wall mounting bracket so it can be stored out of the way. The headlights on the roller head are an added bonus.

Very easy to handle.and lightweight. I shouldn't review this now after just buying it but that's all I can say now. I have had issues with brushes from all vacuum cleaners so this is what I am keeping an eye on. One more thing, I find the instruction manual drawings very hard to understand sometimes. Really needs a revision.

UPDATE: After talking to customer service a second time, I was able to order my replacement part from the Canadian warehouse at a discount so the total cost to me was not as high as previously stated. I would definitely recommend this vacuum and the Shark company was good to work with.
If you want to spend several hundred dollars on a vacuum every couple of years, then buy this one. It’s an excellent vacuum, I LOVED it… until it stopped working. I regularly changed the filters and cleaned the brushes, etc. I wanted this thing to LAST, it was a good one. Then one day it lost its suction and upon close inspection I saw that part of the hose, close to the brush head unit, had split and separated from the brush head unit, making it not an air tight system anymore. This sort of thing was not caused by my mistreatment of the vacuum, it simply just wore out and split. I called Shark, and was told that it falls under regular wear and tear and that they would not replace it. I’m now having to buy a new brush head unit for $75US, which with exchange and shipping is going to be a lot more Canadian. I wish I could have given this vacuum 5 stars, I really love it. But there is obviously a design flaw here that makes it so that it doesn’t last more than 18 months. Sigh…. appliances these days don’t last.
Read a lot of reviews before purchasing. Gotta say its by far one of the best vacuums i ever had. But i see were people get thier complaints. I find myself constantly cleaning the head unit before each vacuum. I keep everything i own well maintained so if your not like that its not the vacuum for you. Not a dyson but im sure it would compete. Also i would buy extra filters for sure. At least one extra. I machine wash mine but after a year it’s pretty ruff.

I have always had central vac – it is quite old now but I did not realize how little it was actually picking up. This machine is awesome. Has great suction, very easy to use and store, I think my only complaint would be that it does not stand up by itself. If you go to pick something up out of the way you have to lie it down or lean it against something.
I would highly recommend this purchase.
PS I have 2 dogs and it picks up all the hair without issue

I love this vacuum. The cord is nice and long and I love the double brush it picks up all dust and pet hair without any issues. The only con to this is the size of the dirt collection bin. But for the size of the vacuum I guess I can’t complain that much.

Great vacuum for the price really picks up the dirt well. Only suggestion if you have pets with long hair that sheds a lot that you take the head off and just suck it up first or you will be untangling the hair from roller every time after you are done.

Wonderful vacuum, even for carpe
This vacuum is amazing! Well worth the money.
Only downside is that hair gets tangled in the roller very easily. If you have a household with a lot of hair, and long hair, you will likely need to thoroughly clean the roller in the vacuum after every use. There is a little brush hidden in the roller to be able to do this.
Otherwise a great vacuum. Has a light in it to see where you are vaccumung. Works well in carpet! Better than an old upright vacuum we had.
The extra roller are the front is great. Not like other vacuums where the dust can get everywhrre, the extra front roller keeps everything in place to suck is up so less dust in the air. Great for my allergies.
10/10 would buy again. Several people I know also have them and rave about it.

I’ve had this vacuum for a few weeks now. It’s light, versatile and very easy to use. The cord is also quite long, which I also found helpful.
The amount of dust (a lot) that it vacuumed up from floors that I thought were clean was quite amazing!

Also, I’m literally the least strong woman I know and I don’t find it too heavy to carry around.

Great vacuum, picks up very good. Easy to empty, has a good led light at front. Easy to handle turns and front. The only thing I don’t like about it is that its top heavy and you can’t just place it upright anywhere you have to lean on something or put it on the ground if you need to move something or leave it for a second.

This is great for getting under furniture. When the brush is on it goes a little wild and pulls. I bought this in addition to my shark vacuum I've had for years. Heres hoping it lasts as long! :)

Easy to put togethe
I received the product in record time. Easy to put together. The suction and cleaning power is fantastic. My only struggle is the weight of the vacuum part once detached to use on furniture.

Love it! Love it! Love it! I’ve cleaned houses for a living and I’ve used a ton of vacuums and this one beats all of them hands down! Especially the Dyson. I have cork floors, hardwood and carpet and it works for all of them. Can’t say it enough, this vacuum does everything. I especially like the way you can pull the pieces apart to clean it (filters, and roller).
It works very well. It is a bit on the heavy side (I am used to the canister style) so it might not be perfect for someone who has weak wrists but this gives momentum to the vacuum cleaner while using it, so overall it is not that bad. I comes with a set of handy accessories (brush…).
After a lot of online research, I purchased this vacuum and so far, we’re delighted with it! It’s incredibly light and maneuverable, has very strong suction power, and moves seamlessly from tile to hardwood to carpets. I seriously considered various rechargeable options, but believe this corded unit’s power is as good or better, and I don’t have to worry about recharging after 15 minutes of use. We use this vac as a daily back-up to our central-val system, when we don’t want to haul out the central-vac hose and components to do touch-up vacuuming. It doesn’t stand on its own, when fully assembled, but that hasn’t been a problem for us. The 30-foot cord lets us do a lot of cleaning, without frequent outlet changes. And the unit is very easy to clean, and amazingly quiet. Highly recommended.

Amazing vacuum - lightweight, quiet, and powerful. Swivels well and can reach under furniture. Light on the front is also great. The top piece detaches and can be stored compactly on the bottom with a place to wrap the cord around. Super happy with it!

Received the Shark vaccum today, had to try it out right away, it has so much power that you have to hold it back, or it will run away on you, I think the Shark and I are going to get along just fine

does an awesome job picking up stuff on lino – almost sucked up the dog’s toy! Very easy to change attachments. (It came with lots of attachments) I would highly recommend it.
After doing a little research and reading reviews, I made the plunge and ordered. It more than passes muster…and very happy with quick Amazon delivery. Also the box it was packaged in was very good and instructions (if you require them) were easy to follow. After use and test areas and places of use comparing to my powerful upright, I find the stick so easy to use with loads of suction. Head pivots so easily. So perfect for hard floor surfaces, it gets all the floor stuff – fine dust and everything else and does not shoot it off anywhere – it really shines here, but it also does a high powered job on carpet too…just as good as my high suction upright vacuum that was not too hard surface friendly – hence the new stick as I got tired of sweeping flooring. Oh, and it perfectly vacuums my yoga mat…like a dream. I like the size of the power head and the swivel. When vacuuming you can watch anything in its path get drawn into the head even before it gets to it….that is suction. This is another reason I chose a corded stick over a power pack, charging stick model. While the cord will always be a ‘cord’ and get in the way at times, power and suction remain high and you have no worries of when you will be losing power. The power cord is quite long too – 2 plug ins does my whole floor of 1500 sq ft. I like the ease of switching to the hand held at any time, as well as the ease of changing tools for either mode. It breaks apart for easy storage onto its self, or it can be wall mounted. I feel the manufacturers have thought of pretty much every use option and made each user friendly. It came with the full complement of attachments including a long wand to get under appliances or further under furniture. Also a small rotating brush attachment for stairs, etc. I was pleased with the price also when comparing to other more expensive sticks on the market. It comes with a 5 yr limited warranty and looks pretty solidly built overall.
My only ‘con’ comments would be the hand held alone is a little on the weighty side (so you need to have average hand mobility and strength) and the full upright does not stand up on itself….but for me both of these are minor compared to all that it is and does. It will stand up on its own when the hand held is removed and attached below in storage mode. For me I am going to mount it full length handing in a closet.
My three priorities in purchasing a stick were – had to be powerful with the ability to get the very fine floor dust and not send other ‘bits’ shooting all over the place…..and this stick accomplishes all three extremely well. So, my upright vacuum just got a holiday as I really can’t see myself using it much anymore for anything as this stick is capable of doing it all so easily and much more.

Best vaccum I have owned to date! ideal for my home which is half oriental rugs and half hardwood flooring.The swivel head is very practical to get around tight corners.The carpet brush is excellent on carpets and the suction is strong. The little velvet roller is amazing on hard wood floors and doesn,t shoot out debris onto my feet like my other vacuums have done. Yes, the canister is small but it’s not THAT small, to be honest it’s best to empty the canister often. Everything is easy to take apart and clean. The multiple tools all have a purpose and are easy to attach.
