PATLOCK is a home security product and the ULTIMATE VISUAL DETERRENT for would be intruders, while providing home owners with instant peace of mind.
PATLOCK has been designed and developed in the UK to assist home owners in securing their property against burglars and the growing trend of lock snapping.
Most forced entry burglaries are committed through the weakest point at the rear of the property, usually the Patio or French Doors.
Entry to French Doors fitted with standard handles and locks can be forced in less than 30 seconds.
Each PATLOCK comes with a pair of Tamper resist spindles which once fitted cannot be removed from the exterior, enhancing the security that PATLOCKprovides.
We recommend that you use the services of a locksmith for the initial fit of the PATLOCK spindles, unless you are confident that the instructions provided can be followed successfully.
Both PATLOCK and the tamper resist spindles are Patent registered products.

Ok so I hesitated to purchase these as they are quite pricey. However I decided to go ahead and purchase as there has been some break-ins around our area and wanted to try secure our French doors a little more.
The patlocks are very basic but very robust. I have 2 sets for both of my French doors. The device secured the doors amazingly.
The patlock comes with a pair of tamper resistant spindles that you can use if you want more protection and can change your door lock to make the product even more secure.
The patlock is easy to use and it makes my French doors very secure. Although pricey I feel they are worth it and gives you peace of mind while at home or when away.
Once they are fitted onto handles the doors are secure and handles can’t move.
**The video I uploaded just shows how you can’t move the handles at all when patlock is in place.
Looks nice and smart, giving added security to your patio doors. Some reviews, I note, ask why isn’t there a lock on it, so that a burglar smashing the window, couldn’t simply reach in, to press the hand grips, and get inside? Surely, smashing (likely) double glazed windows is the last thing the thief wants to do (extra noise and injury risk), and if they were to do that, they could just step inside anyway? Like many anti-theft devices, the benefit is in visible security, and moving the opportunist down the road. Looks well made, chunky and good weight. Fitted my horizontal patio door handles easily.
My question is, what’s with the two included doorlock spindles? I might have missed it, but why are they included? The attached instructions in the box says you don’t have to fit them, but it’s recommended to do so. Why, what’s wrong with the spindles on my doors? Plus, once I tamper with the doors, technically, it affects my insurance, especially as it is still covered by NHBC. More information on that point would be appreciated. Other than that, I’m happy with the purchase.
Easy to fit, in 2 parts that simply slip over the door handles, to stop the handles being depressed. We didn’t use the rods that came with it, as that would involve taking the door handles off. It works fine without them as the handles can’t be pushed down while they are on. Easy to take off and it does make the house feel more secure as the conservatory doors would be the weak link in our house. A good buy and happy with it. Seem quite a substantial product and the stickers for the door gives any burglar something to think about as they would have to be there for far longer.

Easy perfect protection solution for a home with french doors in the front entry.
We knew the front doors with the “french doors” style was a definite weak point for potential break ins. I was looking for a solution that wouldn’t entail drilling into our tile floors inside the house. This devise is the perfect solution and is so easy to apply and remove. My husband originally put it on backwards but just turned it around so the lighter colored lettering faces us inside the house and it works perfectly. Loved the quality and the way it looks. It’s a great solution for adding protection to our home.

After a spate of break ins in our area where the intruders had got in through French doors we bought these as an extra deterrent. Hopefully burglars would be put off by the lock . We fitted the spindle too.

A worthy investment for anyone with patio doors. It’s not ugly, blends in and doesn’t stand out, but thieves will be able to see it’s installed and be deterred (optional deterrent window stickers are also provided). Simple idea, but worth it.

The spindles fitted without any dramas, l needed to increase the size of the hole in a couple of doors to fit the internal locking ring. The handles are extremely easy to fit, giving a visual deterrent from the outside, the dual locking and unlocking on the device means l could not open the door with the patio door unlocked with the Patlock fitted as the handles cannot move down to release the door. Good piece of mind with them fitted.

Had been looking at ways to improve security and came across the Patlock. The reviews seemed great so ordered with the company itself via Amazon. Very impressed with the service as it was free delivery but the Patlock arrived next day.

Easy to use, spindles were easy to fit if you are handy with tools but they are not essential.

Quick to fit - affective deterre
What I like most about this is it’s so quick to fit and remove without using any keys. It’s well made and design and fits my French doors perfectly.
From the inside it’s fairly unobtrusive and the outside the badge is more distinct drawing attention to your added security to hopefully deter thieving scum!

Added security
The padlock gives peace of mind for patio doors that are notoriously an easy target for thieves. These are easy to initially install but I do find removing them a bit more of a pain than just unlocking and opening a door without them. The rubber inserts have a habit of falling out when using them as well.

Good Detera
I like the fact that it would deter a burglar. I have glass on my door so if they smashed the glass they could just press the buttons themselves. I haven’t took the door handles off to install the metal rods. Easy to fit and take off.
Single action locking.
I found the handle spindles fairly easy to install into the lock, though one lock was very worn and it was a bit fiddly to align. The security lock itself is very easy to set and remove by virtue of the ratchet system of securing the right tension. My one observation is that as there is no actual locking mechanism to secure it closed, an intruder, if so inclined, might be able to break the glass on both doors and remove the lock from the outside. but it is a good visual deterrent for the opportunist.

I also contacted the manufacturer of the product and asked if they would sell two additional spindles for my other doors, and they are sending me them…free of charge. So, very impressed overall with the product, customer service and price. Highly recommended.

This is the third patlock that I have bought.
I have two for our own house, and I have just bought one for my daughter and son-in-law for their patio doors. For me it just gives an extra layer of security, and most importantly , piece of mind. Cannot fault these excellent locks.

This is a brilliantly innovative idea. Simple to use, easy to put on and take off simply by pressing the back and front together without losing the strength that it needs to do the job. My mum hasn’t got much strength in her hands and she finds it easy to put on and take off for when she is letting the dogs out. A great product for indoor use with the added feeling of security on the interior of the conservatory doors when heading to bed. Will be purchasing these again for the front porch for additional night security. There are also rubber inserts within each part of this product to protect the handles on the door it securing from constant use.

Extra security
Brought this for our back patio doors as extra security on top of the lock with in the door, the added bonus of the anti pull out door pins was an extra bonus, we just had to cut off the excess metal to make the pins the same size as ours and we cooking on gas, you don’t need to change the pins in door if you prefer and can just use the item on its on own but we did just for peace of mind. Really simple design just slip over door handles and click in to place. Just remember to lock you door also not like my son who thought that this was a substitute for the actual lock built in to doors !!!

I purchased this lock after reading other reviews and searching on the internet for which is the best security locks to use. The previous reviews were very good so I thought that these would be suitable for me.
Price – Given the price I was not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised.
Quality – Excellent – it does what it says. It is a great addition to the security in my home.
Lock – it is very easy to put together, just push one section into the other and it is locked.
The only difficulty I had is unlocking it as you have to push the buttons in, which on days my hands don’t work too well and I find it hard to do, but everyone else in the family have said it is fine

When ordering I forgot we only have one door handle “duh” only lived here 10 years lol .. so fitted a heavy duty eye plate. Fits perfect. Solid. Feel much safer now.

Well made security device
A well-made device that feels tough. It is easy to put in place and remove. It takes very little pressure to squeeze the bar to unlock it. It prevents anyone from turning the door handles because it locks them into place horizontally. It’s a great visual deterrent too.
I bought this because there is a series of burglaries going on in my area and my conservatory is 10 years old, so I needed to upgrade the handles as conservatories are often a security weak spot. The best way of preventing a burglary is to make sure that your house is more secure than the rest of the houses in your street. Burglars always attack the softest target.
Just some hints on installing, which is very easy:
1. make sure the black rubber inserts are the right way round so they protect the inside of your door handles (see my photos and the arrow pointing to where the black rubber protector goes).
2. Before fully installing the replacement square profile metal bar in each doorlock, put it in place – without using the round metal clip. This will show how much of it needs to be cut off, and from which side of the door. You can then take the metal bar out and cut it to the right length using a hacksaw.
3. Put the replacement square profile metal bar into place from the outside of the lock, so that the ridged part of the bar shows on the inside section. You can then push the thin round metal clip onto the end as seen in the photo I’ve uploaded. This stops burglars from pulling out the metal bar from outside the house.
4. Some people say that once the clip is in place, the bar is stuck there forever. That isn’t correct. The way to remove it is to remove the internal and external handles, then push the bar in from where the outside handle was. This exposes the round clip. You can then slide 2 sharp blades under the tangs that hold the clip in place, and the clip can then be slid off the bar. Easy!
Even though this isn’t cheap at 49:45, I recommend installing this now!
Requires two hands to unlock.
Super piece of kit, if a little pricey.
Quick and easy to fit, part of the standard lock up on a night.
HOWEVER, it requires two hands at the same time, to release (one on each unit).
If one hand is weak or injured, or simple only one hand available, you cannot release them.
The two plastic springs need to be pressed at the same rime to release the ratchet bars.
We actually inform any guests we have in the event of an emergency.
The internal rubber sleeves could also do with securing. No big deal but a drop of glue wouldn’t harm.
I’m currently making a hefty clip to be on hand nearby to compress one spring, just in case.

Quick and easy lock
Was delivered before expected date. The product is easy to use, did not use the spindles. The product is larger than expected.
Requires two hands to unlock.
Super piece of kit, if a little pricey.
Quick and easy to fit, part of the standard lock up on a night.
HOWEVER, it requires two hands at the same time, to release (one on each unit).
If one hand is weak or injured, or simple only one hand available, you cannot release them.
The two plastic springs need to be pressed at the same rime to release the ratchet bars.
We actually inform any guests we have in the event of an emergency.
The internal rubber sleeves could also do with securing. No big deal but a drop of glue wouldn’t harm.
I’m currently making a hefty clip to be on hand nearby to compress one spring, just in case.

A Simple Locking System for French Doors which is like Kryptonite.
When the lock arrived, I took it out of the box and straight away it felt solid and robust. A quick read of the instructions and before you knew it, it was in position on the interior door handles of my French Doors. The solidly made locking system gave me confidence that this device would deter anyone intent on trying to force my doors. It is so well made and so simple to operate. It felt like Kryptonite. I would recommend this product if you are interested in a lock that gives peace of mind in securing your French Doors.

Recently had french doors fitted and wanted a little extra security for peace of mind. I had already looked into Padlock and been told that our local community police officer had mentioned these as a deterrent for burglary. So easy to apply and remove. Doesn’t look ugly or cumbersome on a modern door. Gives me added piece of mind and I do glad I purchased this product. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

After researching quick and affordable french door locks I opted for the Patlock. After reading some reviews I did have slight reservations, but trusted Amazon’s simple returns policy in case I was unhappy.
I needn’t have worried. They arrived next day, I fitted the additional security spindles within minutes, and the job was done and dusted in no time, the spindles didn’t need trimming for my doors which helped, but even if they did it would only add 5 minutes to the fitting time.
All in all I’m very happy, the lock looks well made and gives a clean professional appearance when fitted.
I’d recommend this anyone wanted an easy no nonsense D.I.Y. french door lock upgrade.

A friend had suggested a “Patlock” and I have no idea what it even was. What a fantastic product. Well made… nice and visible… super easy to fit both the lock and the spindles…. easy to put on and take off. Quality product that does exactly what it says. I heartily recommend.

Bought this for peace of mind, I live in a 3 storey house and it’s good to know that when I go to bed on the top floor the house is secure. Simple to use, great quality and provides a good visible deterrent.
Easy and a huge part of home security
I bought this for the rear of our house. It’s a must for all patio doors. My wife feels secured at home. At these little touches of security around the house that makes a difference. This fits all French patio doors I came across. Very simple and easy to install and use. You push them together and it locks and push with the thumbs will unlock it. Even my gran mother can use this simple but effective security French patio door handle lock. It would cause a lot of attention / noise if someone was to try break into the home. French / patio doors have a very weak design fault. And that’s the key barrel. Easy to snap. But with buying this door handle security device makes it so much harder for people to gain entry. It’s a must buy don’t hesitate.

As somebody who’s experienced forced entry on a uPVC door, the first line of defence is a good (kite marked) anti-snap lock. The Patlock provides a good visual deterrent in addition to the main lock..

Worth the money
A very useful, easy to use, additional security feature for French Doors. It was recommended by our local Police Home Security advisory service. You need moderate DIY tools/skills to install the hardened door handle shaft, but perfectly do-able for the average guy. Once that’s completed it’s plain sailing thereafter.

Excellent locks. I feel safer knowing these are on my patio doors at night now I am home alone. Just make sure you connect the rods to the correct hole when using. I have put dots on mine now with a marker pen. My fault not the product. Lol
