PATLOCK is a home security product and the ULTIMATE VISUAL DETERRENT for would be intruders, while providing home owners with instant peace of mind.
PATLOCK has been designed and developed in the UK to assist home owners in securing their property against burglars and the growing trend of lock snapping.
Most forced entry burglaries are committed through the weakest point at the rear of the property, usually the Patio or French Doors.
Entry to French Doors fitted with standard handles and locks can be forced in less than 30 seconds.
Each PATLOCK comes with a pair of Tamper resist spindles which once fitted cannot be removed from the exterior, enhancing the security that PATLOCKprovides.
We recommend that you use the services of a locksmith for the initial fit of the PATLOCK spindles, unless you are confident that the instructions provided can be followed successfully.
Both PATLOCK and the tamper resist spindles are Patent registered products.
PATLOCK is to be used as an additional security device for French Doors and not as a replacement for existing locks.

I was reading a neighbourhood watch article that stated that the main issues for burglars is to slow them down, light them up and make lots of noise whilst make them visible to neighbours. So this does the superb job of slowing them down – we have extra strong locks fitted and multi point locks but this – it’s not only cheap especially if you compare to the excess on your house insurance. It’s easily fitted and makes me feel I have done everything I can as well as a very bright security light, recording device and I have recently removed all excess ivy to allow any activity to be easily viewed. Great idea and feels very strong and robust.

Easy to fit and very secure
This is a simple piece of kit to secure French doors from being forced open. It is Secured By Design so approved. Very easy to install and also comes with additional fittings for the door itself for added security.

A decent item. Fairly easy to install, but I did have to take off my door handles & fit some new plates behind them. These were provided & add to the security, but I’m not sure it’s something everyone could do themselves. Easy to lock & gives added security & peace of mind. My only negative is the cost, I personally feel it’s a little too high.
Good device
Can be a bit tricky to line up the 2 Patlock metal bars to fit the device to the door handles at first but once you’ve got the knack it’s easy. It appears to work very well in securing patio doors.

Absolutely brilliant security device and very easy to install and unlock. I have osteoarthritis in my hands and am able to use this easily

Plenty of other, much cheaper ones like this available but thought this as it looked more pleasing on the eye than the chunky metal versions. Comes with extra items to swap over in the door mechanism but that’s optional and I just fitted the lock to the door, literally takes seconds.
Other reviews said they struggled with releasing the lock but I’ve had no issues. Bought a second for another similar set of doors we all.
Would highly recommend this product, hopefully it acts as a significant enough deterrent.
Good item for added security.
I bought a cheaper version first which proved to be almost impossible to fit and remove, for my wife it was far too difficult.. Bought this Patlock to resolve the problem and it did easily, it is easy to fit and remove quickly. Fitting the new handle spindles to make the doors fully secure took some effort and drilling but was well worth the effort knowing the doors were as secure as possible. The item looks stylish from inside and out but at the same time gives a look of added security to the property. I would recommend.

Super easy to install!
Came with some bars to replace the ones inside the door handles, haven’t been able to do this yet but it’s a great idea.
After reading reviews on this one and the simple cheaper one I decided these features appealed to me more!
– silicone inside to fit snug to the handles and they don’t get scratched
– no keys, two buttons to press to unlock in case of an emergency
– soft touch casing, won’t hurt my child if she grabs it and blends into the lounge doors better
– comes with identifying stickers so people can see your property is Patlock protected
– easy to see from outside so a potential deterrent
– feels sturdy and we tried opening the doors from outside – really difficult without making a load of noise, which would alert you to an intruder

I love this lock. It is easy to install and the instructions are really clear. I was a bit daunted initially, but it was a breeze. Taking it off to open the doors is easy and it’s even easier to reinstall. My wife was concerned that it would look ugly but accepts now that you don’t really notice it.

Very easy to fit and remove. Looks the part. Hope it never gets tested although an attempted burglary at a neighbours was thwarted by a pat lock.

A must have for any French or patio doors. Provides that extra bit of security and provides reassurance for when not at home. It’s surprising how easy it is for housebreakers to knock out the locking mechanism of the doors, and this padlock would certainly stop or at the very least slow them down enough for them police to arrive.

To see it in situ one knows that its on and its secure
I have used 3x, on my three French doors, two doors are on the ground floor overlooking my garden the third is on my bedroom overlooking my flat roof. I have purchased two more. Have given one to my nephew ( for his French door security ) and the 5th I use on my front porch door for overnight locking security. Overall I think the designer of this double handle doors lock deserves a MEDAL for such a SIMPLE TO SEE AND SIMPLE TO USE SECURITY DEVICE and not very expensive, will continue to praise it to all my friends and neighbours and anyone I know with a French patio door. Brilliant looks good does the job I feel so much better knowing we have this fitted I’ll be looking at more items for the garden gate and shed but buy this you won’t be disappointed it’s so easy to fit and also to unlock for yourself. So well made a sturdy recommended for sure.

Prompt delivery, well packed and good quality. The lock is an added protection to the conservatory doors, even with a building alarmed it would not put robbers off, so the lock was an extra. The lock was was easy to manage and place on the conservatory doors.

Works well and visual deterre
Bought 2 and these work very well and are a very visual deterrent to show how well door protected. I hope the next iteration of the device can have a key locking the unit from the inside. Made a mess of one of the original fittings and the company helped out by giving me a replacement ‘washer’. Just a great product.

Ordered on Wednesday and delivered last night. I am very happy with my purchase. I found it very easy to use – from opening the package to having the two parts fitted on my patio door was less than 10 minutes. This product definitely adds an extra layer of protection for what is probably the easiest way to break into any home with patio doors. Well worth the money.
When joining the two parts together, the only thing you need to take care over is that each single rod on the two parts fits through the small circular hole on the opposite sides. I also found the two release buttons very easy to use.

The lock is easy to put on and take off and provides extra security which means I have peace of mind while in the house. It blends in well with my white patio doors. It’s easily seen from outside and that hopefully makes it more of a deterrant to would be burglars. So far we are very happy with our purchase.

No dislikes, plenty of likes. Even if someone tried to drill out the locks of the doors, they still could not get in as the Patlock is on the inside of the french doors. So easy to use, well worth the money. Happy buyer.

Brilliant Lock but Installation not as advertised
Like many purchasers of this device, I really needed the protection afforded by this lock. However, because I am not able to get someone to deal with adapting the spindle to ensure that the lock gives the promised security, it is just left lying in the box used to dispatch the device to me.
I have looked on YouTube to see how the spindle can be adapted, and it is only in that video that it is made clear that the device ONLY works with that adaptation.
I am disappointed that this information is not made clear from the off in any advertisement for the device. The adverts for this device, certainly at the time that I bought it in the last month or so in 2020, imply that the device is simple and easy to use – it is BUT only if the spindle is dealt with – and that information is not given in the first and main advertisement. Not everyone is in a position to deal with the adaptation on their own.

I just popped straight over the door handles. Didn’t bother using the bars provided to change within the door itself. No one could move the door handles with this in place anyway.

So my son and his girlfriend have just bought their first house together and have just had a baby, so helped by getting a ring video doorbell for a quick fix of security for the front of his house. Yesterday his next door neighbour had their house broken into via the rear french doors. So I was going to help them and get someone to fit extra security bolts to their french doors, but then that means having keys handy if there ever is an emergency, so found this product. I’ve ordered 2 one for my son and one for our home, looks very stylish compared to cheaper alternatives. Very easy to open and will add the new door bars after Christmas, just want them to be safe and have a visual deterrent to stop the low life scum who break into peoples houses…especially at this time of year.

Great security addition for French doors
Been looking at these for a while, when I noticed my friend had one for her house due to two ‘attempted’ break-ins. The police told her she’s got an excellent product and its police preferred. Its very easy to lock, but make sure the Black patlock logo is seen from the outside so it can be easily seen at night.

The idea seems so simple, and yet so effective in operation. The service from the supplier is an added bonus. Any questions, or any problems just give them a call and they will sort it out with no fuss. I will be watching to see what else they bring out, because it is bound to be a clever design.

I bought this after watching one of those reality cop shows. Police had been called to a burglary where entry was obtained via the French Door and the officer said that breaking the lock takes 20 – 30 seconds. I logged into my prime account and ordered this item. It arrived the next day. I fitted them immediately. It takes longer to open the box than it does to fit the Patlock to your doors. They also come with a set of lock spindles, the ones that go through the door and connects the handles, I will fit these as well.
I will say that I have a degree of arthritis in my knuckles and thumb joints but that isn’t a problem in operating this lock.
I recommend this locking device.
Extremely easy to open & close lock offering an enhanced level of security. Will fit any door sized door handles. Well designed rounded shape. The muted pale grey “Patlock” logo faces in towards the room which is not harsh on the eye. However the Logo on the other side of the lock is a rather more striking black & yellow colour. See photo of colour difference. This logo is clearly visible from outside & also reflects in the dark, so a good deterrent. The box the lock arrived in contained simple instruction but also had a couple of the same black & yellow logo stickers which you can stick onto your windows as another measure of security. There is no combination code, dial or key needed, it’s a simple & easy to use push & pull mechanism. There are rubber barrels inside the lock which you push the door handle into. Not sure if these are to avoid scratching the handles on the plastic interior, or to be removed to accommodate chunkier handles. In any case, these do seem to fall out at times when opening the lock, so I might glue mine in, but it doesn’t stop me giving the product its well deserved 5 stars. Very happy with this lock & well priced so can definitely recommend.

Extra Security Easily Fitted
The Patlock is a sturdy piece of kit, very easy to fit and can be removed quickly if necessary. If you have French Doors and need extra security look no further than the Patlock. It’s well worth the money paid.

Love how easy to install these were, my 14yr old daughter was able to install the new anti tamper bits and I love how easy they are to remove once in place. Having tried to open door (unlocked!) From outside, you can see how impossible it is made with these which gives me extra confidence in them.

Great product. It will definitely stop break-in on patio door as it can’t be opened easily from outside. It also gives visible detterant so burglar will break into next door. Also barrel lock used in patio door very easy to break into.
Easy to install, feels solid and I feel safe
It feels really safe now to have that lock on my French doors at night. Even if someone tampers with the keyhole, the doors still won’t open. The installation was simple and althought the item is quite dear, it brings you a safety feelintg. I might revisit this review in the future if it doesn’t serve it’s purpose well, but at the moment I am recommending it.

A simple and effective deterrent to opportunist burglars. It wouldn’t stop a determined entrant, but adds another layer of obstacle that would require more effort, and may well make them look for a softer target.
Easy to fit. The tamper proof spindles were a little tricky to cut to size, being solid metal, but worth the effort.
Looks tidy enough from inside, and is visible externally too, adding to the deterrent factor.

Pretty easy to install and does the job to prevent intruders gaining entry via the patio door. A friend had one fitted which did stop someone breaking in, so we decided to fit one too. It’s easy to remove to unlock and open the door and refit after locking.

I’ve recently had an attempted break in. Luckily I saw the intruders and they ran away. I did a lot of security upgrades, but this was by far the quickest and most effective. I understand its not bullet proof but it’s simple to use and will hopefully be a deterrent.

However, there’s a limit on the width of the patio door handles that it will fit over (check Patlock’s website).
So, unfortunately, it wasn’t practical for us as our handles were at the width limit meaning that fitting and removing the two halves of the Patlock required excessive force/pressure with both hands on each handle which negated the advertised ease of use.
Sadly decided to return for a refund.

Genius Inventio
This was my first purchase as I was about to move into my new house. I take safety and security extremely important.
It’s very easy to install and perfect for double opening patio doors. Even if you leave your door unlocked with the pat lock on (although I wouldn’t recommend it), it is still unopenable from the opposite side.
Whoever came up with this idea is a genius!!!

Easy to take on and off but it has extra security arms that need a locksmith to install unless you feel confident enough to cut them if needed (which I don’t) so I have to use it without.
UPDATE Find it is getting stiffer to take off so I will only use it if I am away for a while as it is a hassle.

Really easy to use and gives a bit of extra piece of mind.
This is very easy to use and doesn’t require much pressure to unlock the locking tabs. It gives you a bit of extra piece of mind security and hopefully sends the burglar off to another house.
One review I would suggest for the manufacturer is to reduce the length of one of the metal rods so that you can locate one side in first, then the 2nd side, whereas at the moment you have to try and get both sides matching up at the same time, which is just a bit fiddly.

This product is amazing it caters for our security needs making it easy to remove from the outside and difficult to get in from the outside moreover it is easy to get on an off which is a priority for dog own whose dog frequently like to go out.The only flaw is the rubber insides which are to protect the handles of the doors often fall out this is its only short coming.

I took the unit apart and examined it . It would be so simple to make this unit fit
all patio door locks not just as described ” most patio door locks ”
This unit could be made simply more adaptable for longer door handle widths .

Unfortunately the spindle needs to be increased in size also by 2″ / 50mm

We use this nightly on our conservatory doors as it gives me peace of mind that it would deter and prevent a break in. As a police officer I’m very aware of security and I think this is a great product for a reasonable price.

The lock idea, is excellent. Looks good. Requires no key lock to go with it, etc My only criticism is my wife is a little arthric in fingers and this may just to women who not very strong. Pushing the buttons to open release mechanism and shutting. I bought two locks. One was fine, the other one was sticking. I used vaseline on the metal parts. Now it’s working fine. Wife can’t close or open either. May be lacking in technique as well as strength. I am going to work on it with her. Overall an excellent product. Well worth the money. Looks so cool on my French doors.

The spindles are very easy to fit and a 5 min job. The company are responsive with good communication should anything go wrong with your order. In my case Amazon failed to deliver my 1st order listing it as being damaged in delivery. How that would was possible is beyond me as this the lock is solid. Another was quickly in the post and at my front door. Well recommended product giving extra piece of mind.
Despite our security cameras and an alarm, I have often thought that our two sets for French doors at the rear of our property have been a weak point. However a little more reassured with these handle locks in situ.
These come with spindles for you to change over with your existing handles (optional).

I was looking for security for the conservatory across the internet and I saw similar locks to the patlock which came with a padlock but I came across the patlock which i though was a great idea , no padlock and the spindles which comes with them was added security . I ordered the patlock on Saturday and received it the following day . Now what I will say it is easy to install if your current spindles are the same size as the patlock spindles and the washers you have to install will fit in the hole of your door, so make sure before you fit the washers and spindles that the patlock spindle is the same size as your current one , if not you will have to saw off one end which is not highlighted in the installation guide to which side you saw and I used a drill to open up the hole on the door so the washer fits through. There is a YouTube video out there to how to install the spindle and lock for anyone not comfortable doing it. Like many others I dont know how good it is until someone tries to break in , but hopefully it will not come to that. It looks very smart and matches the colour of our doors.

Great deterrent.
I like this a lot. It’s neat and tidy, but I do have some reservations. If you have reasonable DIY skills then it’s straight forward to fit. Hardest part is cutting down and fitting the security spindles. Without these spindles then the miscreant could snap off the handles from the outside and just push both spindles through and the padlock would just fall off.
As others have pointed out you need reasonably strong fingers to release the lock. It works by plastic teeth engaging into steel ratchet bars. I did wonder whether the plastic would harden with time due to UV. Also it’s quite pricey for what it is. Otherwise I think it’s 5 stars
Added security and peace of mind for not a lot of money
Very easy to fit and remove as no key required. Comes with anti bump spindles for added protection. I have this in place with Yale 3 star locks to ensure top security on my patio doors. Definitely gives added peace of mind when sleeping, especially as there has been a spate of burglaries in my area where they have snapped the patio looks to gain entry into houses. Also fitting this at night ensures I also check the patio doors are looked, as we use the doors a lot to go into the garden and have forgot to lock the doors in the past..

I chose not to pay extra for a quick delivery but the item arrived the next day anyway so I was really pleased! The item was easy to fit to my french doors but as my son has one I didn’t expect not to be able to use it easily. The product came with an extra security facility that means removing the existing handles and replacing the connecting bar between the inner and outer handles. I didn’t feel confident enough to do this so will wait for my son to visit so he can fit them. The product can be used without fitting these bars but they are an extra security factor. I’m very pleased with my purchase.

Extra safety for my French doors. Although I haven’t fitted the spindle part yet. It is strong but it does not require a huge amount of strength to lock and unlock it. I feel it is worth the money and even without the handle spindle part fitted, I feel my door is more secure. Simple, but secure
Love the simplicity of this device. So simple to install, but very secure. Although our house has an alarm system the conservatory recently added didn’t. This was a cheaper solution but is a good visual deterrent.

The patlock looks good and is easy to use if you have strong enough fingers as you need to squeeze the ratchet locking mechanism to both install and remove the Patlock, so may not be suitable if your fingers aren’t that strong.

Bought on behalf of a friend so not used it myself but it seem well made and easy to use although it does come with it’s own door handle spindles that if you decide to use may need the help of a locksmith if you don’t feel able to remove your door handles and change the spindles, you can use the lock without changing these though

A great lock
This lock was easy to put on and take off not having any problems with pressing the buttons as some reviews have. I have not used the replacement spindles so not sure how easy these would be. It gives peace of mind that the patio doors are now a little more secure.
